"Hard to believe another summer's come and gone... where does the time go?" Chris asked himself as he sat back on the swinging chair on his porch. The longer days were steadily getting shorter, and there was a noticeable chill in the air, signalling that autumn was on its way. He had spent most of his summer reuniting with a few of his friends, heading out with them for food and fun - he was thankful that there were a whole bunch of movies released throughout the season, so there wasn't a shortage of anything to see.

"I wonder what they're gonna do when autumn comes along?" He mused to himself, hoping that they'd still keep in touch with him, even if they had to get back to whatever kept them busy. "Then again, I wonder if I'll see her again as well..." He continued to think, recalling an encounter a few weeks ago where he crossed paths with a most unusual creature, an anthropomorphic raven by the name of Shade. He had stumbled across her one evening whilst she was working her magic, transforming a human being into an animal just like herself. Chris was instantly curious about the raven witch, deciding to strike up a conversation with her once she had finished with her target.

Shade was not one to let any human that crossed her path remain that way, but she thought that there was something special about Chris, getting to know him and even spending a few evenings chilling out at his house. She made a promise to him that once she had figured out the perfect beast to turn him into, she'd return for him, but as of now, he was yet to see her again.

"I hope she's doing ok... OH!" He sat up when he remembered that Shade had sent him a parcel earlier that day, one that he had forgotten to open due to being busy and needing to do some food shopping. "I can't believe that I nearly forgot about that!" He chuckled, heading back inside his house so he could open it. It was neatly wrapped up in black wrapping paper with a vibrant purple bow tied around it, his address neatly written atop of it.

"She did a really nice job on wrapping this up... kinda makes me feel bad for having to unwrap it!" He smirked, tugging gently on the bow, causing it to unravel, the paper slightly unfurling as it came loose. He removed the outer wrapping, opening the box to take a look at whatever contents were inside, only to find the first thing waiting for him was a letter that covered the rest of what was in there. "Better read this first!" He picked it up, unfolding the note to read it.

"Hey there, Chris!

Sorry that it's taken me a bit to get back to you - this summer's been a lot of fun, and I've been kept busy throughout! Chris smirked to himself at that last part - he knew that Shade was always one to plan things through, even if it took her a while, the eventual build-up would be worth it. He put the letter aside, his attention once again going back to the box he had taken it out of. Inside of it was what appeared to be a bar of chocolate.

"Huh... kinda excessive packaging for some chocolate, isn't it?" He thought, picking it out of the box. Taking a closer look at it, his curiosity was piqued.

"Kaiju Crunch?" he pondered, looking over the packaging - true to its name, it had a kaiju of some kind on the wrapper. "Heh, maybe she does know me all too well..." He looked at the walls of his room, pictures of various different kaijus, dragons, and fantasy species adorning them. The two of them had connected over their shared love of such subjects, after all, so it made sense that she'd send something befitting that theme.

He unwrapped the sweet carefully, taking a peek at the contents - at first glance, it appeared to be an ordinary bar of chocolate, nothing special about it. Being sent by Shade, however, he had a feeling that it was going to be anything BUT normal. If anything, he was expecting a monstrous effect of some kind.

"OK, I'll play your little game, Shade~" He chuckled, unwrapping the rest of the candy. "I suppose I have to eat it whole for the full effect?" He pondered, casually nibbling on a corner of it to make sure it tasted nice, and to his surprise, it tasted like a typical bar of milk chocolate, with a little bit of caramel added to it.

"Hey, that's not bad!" He added, eating the rest of it in a matter of seconds, tossing the empty wrapper onto the table. "Makes me wish that she had sent more than one!" He chuckled, looking back at the letter. "I wonder how long I have to wait for this to kick.. Ghh..." A groan left his mouth as his body suddenly trembled, causing him to lurch forwards.

"I... I guess that answers that...!" He supported himself against the table, his body pulsing, his heart beating faster. He could feel his muscles tensing, his biceps beginning to expand slowly, causing the sleeves of his shirt to strain against them. At the same time, his skin flaked away, deep-black scales growing in their place, although you wouldn't be able to immediately notice them thanks to the pitch-black fur that was growing along his arms, a few spikes jutting out from his shoulders and elbows for good measure.

"Hrgghh!" He groaned again, his hands twitching violently. He sank his fingers into the table, his grip causing the wood to splinter in the process, but that was largely thanks to the sharp, curving claws that were growing out of his fingertips, his grip growing tighter on it as the palms of his hands gained rough pads. He pushed himself back up, and he noticed that he was standing a few inches taller than he was before.

"Something... something tells me that this is going to be a big one..." He chuckled, looking at his new claws, running them along his scaly arms. He could feel his muscles pulsing under his touch, still growing ever so slightly, his sleeves succumbing to the added pressure, splitting down the middle. "But I wonder... just HOW big?"

He felt the fur and scales moving across the rest of his body, and although there was little fur sprouting across his chest, there was still enough to poke through his top. His chest pressed against his shirt, the muscles in his pectorals and abs ballooning outwards, his body quickly packing on additional mass.

"Either way..." He moved his hand along his chest, feeling the growing muscles. "It's looking increasingly likely that I'm gonna be frigging RIPPED!" He grinned, his chest barrelling outwards, beginning to strain his top. Tears started to form, exposing the fur that was growing across it, as well as revealing thick, armoured scutes along his front, a deep crimson on the left hand side, and a vibrant purple on the right.. The thin coating of fur made it so that the uniqueness of his scutes could be seen beneath them.

"Ghhh!" He groaned again, undergoing another sudden growth spurt. He tried to prop himself up against the table again, but the added weight cause it to break in half beneath him, bringing him down to the floor.

"Grrgghhhhh...." A low growl left his throat, claws clacking against the floor as he pushed himself into a sitting position, taking note of his increased size. The walls of the room were closing in on him, his head growing closer to the ceiling. Maybe he should have eaten that chocolate outside, where he wouldn't have risked demolishing his house? "Is that what gave you the idea for this, then?" He asked.

"It was a mix of things, really." Shade told him. "All of the talks we had about kaijus and sergals got me thinking, and since I was stuck for a choice, I just decided 'why not both?' Thankfully I was able to get another one of those Kaiju Crunch bars, I mixed a little bit of my magical influence into it, and with that, you're a kaiju version of your sergal, Kage!"

"Heh... I thought this form looked a little familiar to me~" He grinned, flashing his serrated fangs - he had shown Shade several pictures of his sergal OC from time to time, so it seemed only fitting that she'd settle on that for her decision. "I have to say that I like the monstrous add-ons!"
