I know my grammar and everything aint perfect but that's because English is not my original language that's dutch. Any comments is welcome and if you like it I'll go on with this story
The legend of the northern island - chapter 1 : the journey begins
This story is about a dragon's life. It's name is kifra. Kifra is red dragon he is 8 feet tall (that's taller then the most dragons in this story) he lives on the northern island. His dragon race has no wing's. When he found out the other dragon's can fly he became angry at himself. He was angry because he couldn't fly and the other dragon's could. But then his parents told when will reach the age of sixteen he will be able to use magic like no other dragon race could use. He also found out that his race has much sharper and longer claws, his strength was also greater then any other race. At an age of twelve he decided to be a warrior. He goes to the dragon temple to see his uncle who was the master and guardian of the temple. His name was Renath. He was one of the most feared dragon's on there island because of his magic and fighting skills. Mostly because of his fighting and magic skills Kifra goes to the temple to learn his skills and magic so he could be just as strong as the others some day. Now the story begins while he was 19 and he is about to take the final lesson from his uncle to be a well trained warrior.
Part 1 : the final lesson
When Kifra walks to temple for his final lesson he started thinking what he would do when he was done whit his training. He could join the army to fight with his friends who also joined the army already. He didn't knew what to do. After 10 minutes he reached the temple and saw his uncle already waiting for him. "Hi kifra this is going to be an important day for you since this will be your last lesson of me." They walk to back of the temple where they usually trained. "Today we will learn the most power spell your race can cast. this spell will use most of your mana and will almost kill your enemy instantly, so it is important to control it or you would harm yourself with it". "but that spell is forbidden" i said. "yes but in some cases u may use it" after 5 hours of training i was really tired and has no mana left anymore. Renath gave kifra a mana potion and some food so he could regain its strength again. "Your doing very well with this spell" Renath said. "Just another 2 hours and you will have fully control of it". When finished his meal he ask "why do I have to learn this spell Renath?" "do u remember the story of the great war against the humans? In that war this spell is often used" Renath and kifra continued the training. After 1,5 hour he was able to control the spell "Okay let's see how powerful it is in your hands. Gather the mana and use the spell on that giant rock over there". Kifra gathered the mana and then launched the spell to the rock. One red flash hits he rock so fast that if is it was an opponent he couldn't avoid it, BOOM, the rock exploded immediately when the spell hits the rock. They both where silent when watched the pieces of rocks falling down on the ground. Very amazed by its power Kifra barely could ask if his spell had worked. Actually he already knew the answer. Renath walked to him and said "well you just finished your training with me". They both walked back to temple to celebrate it. "Kifra now you finished your training what are going to do next?". Kifra was just to happy to think about now he completed the training and was a real warrior. His uncle sat next to him on the floor and said "this not everything you can learn, there many other things I can't teach you. If you would like to learn them u most leave this island and search for other temple master's like me and challenge them, and if u win they might teach you something new. But be aware there are many dangers outside this island". I thought about it, i was still not sure about it. "well I need to go back to my cave to have dinner". "Talk to your parents" Renath said "they will know what's good for you".
Happily I ran to my cave not able to wait to tell my parents that I finally completed the training finally completed his training. At home I talked to his parents to share the good news, they where very impressed and happy that he finally reached what I always wanted. At night i walked outside to take a look at the stars. "Hey there you are" a voice said to him from some distance. When I looked I saw my best friend seth. Seth was a sky dragon, large and strong wings, he had a bleu scaled body and he was one of the fastest in the air. He had won the last years air race. "So you finally completed your training?" seth said. "Yeah now I'm finally be able to challenge some dragon's in the city" seth sat next to him, also enjoying view. Then he asked "do you already have a battle equipment like a weapon, shield and armour?". I knew I would need them if I ended up in a fight with someone. "no, I am going to buy those tomorrow. Would you like to come with me then? "Yeah sure. Why not. Do you already know what you want to wear?" Seth asked. "A bit, I just want some anti-magic clothes, no armour that's to heavy, so I think a sword or a double sides sword, no shield because I need my other arm for casting spells". Seth thought about and imagines his friend in the battlefield. "I need to go home" seth said. "Well I will see you at market at 9 am? Ok that's fine by me. See yah". I took a final look at the stars and then I decided to go to bed. It was a long day for me.
Part 2: the fight
I woke up at 8 am. I took a shower and some breakfast and I went off to the market. When I finally was there seth was already waiting. "how much gold do u have?" he asked "I got 500 gold from my uncle and I have 1000 myself so I have plenty enough". They walked trough market looking for something nice when I saw my old school mate. His name was Loren, he was a green forest dragon pretty strong and a thick scales. When I went to school I was 12. I was always afraid of him because he was much stronger then my, and when I wanted to attack he fly up in the air to avoid my attacks. Now I wasn't scared anymore now I could use magic if he went in the air and that would be a mistake. He noticed me and walked to me. "Hey kifra still the weak dragon as always?" kifra turned to him and said "get lost I have stuff to do" and I pushed him away. Now loren was mad. Being pushed away by me he couldn't let it happen in front of his friends. Loren prepared for an attack but I already felt it coming and I punched him away before he could attack. "get lost I said". Now loren was real mad he draw his claws and hit me with full power in my shoulder. It didn't do much damage just a little scratch I couldn't even see blood. Now both me and loren where aware that they where in a fight. Loren's friends yelled at him that he should attack by air and so on. "you know loren I ain't the weak dragon anymore. I know some tricks now to". I prepared a flare spell that would burn his wings so he couldn't fly again. When loren ran at him with his claws ready to attack kifra launched the flare spell. Loren sprung up in the air to avoid it. Then loren gathered some many and prepared a fire spell. "like that little fire is going to hurt me" kifra laughs when he said that. Loren used teleport to get behind me and attacked with the spell. He hit me in the back but I felt not much of it. It felt like a hot rock hit me. I turned i wanted to attack him but he was already in the air. Kifra gathered this time a lot of many for a thunder spell that would take him out in one blast. Like kifra suspected loren used a dive attack to strike at him with his feet so he would gets his claws in my shoulders or my ribs. When loren was close enough I launched my spell. It hit him right in his wings. Unable to use his wings from the pain loren crashed to the ground and nearly crushed some dragon's watching the fight. Loren stand up again and walked away he knew he could handle me anymore. I was to strong for him now. I was relieved that I wasn't hurt that bad. "wow one thunder spell and he gave it up" kifra looked at him and said "I used more then 50% of my mana to scare him so he would leave like this". we continued to look for some weapons.
After a while we saw a store with beautiful double sided sword. "Well that's what I'm looking for". I took a good look at it when the shopkeeper said "it's a fine sword, you can even put magic in it to make it stronger and make elemental attacks" I considered buying it and I asked "what kind of metal is it?", the shopkeeper gets happier with thought of that I'm going to buy his sword he say's "the metal is called mythrill, it allows magic to flow trough it, for this weapon I ask 1200 gold. A bit disappointed by the prices. "I'll buy it for 1400 and then I want that with this anti magic robe". The shopkeepers thinks about it. 1200 for the sword plus that robe is 1500 total. "Okay I do it". The shopkeepers takes the items and put it on the table and waits for kifra to pay. "I want that sword to take in on my back so I need belt for it and rope I take in my bag pack". "that's then 100 gold extra" he said. I agreed and I paid the shopkeeper.
Seth was a bit jealous at him but that doesn't really matter him. On our way home I said to him "I have decided to go on a journey to learn more techniques so I can defend this island along with other dragon's" he was not happy with this, I was one of his best friends he would love to go with me but his parents wouldn't let him go with him. "why do you go? You already know many techniques if you want you can join the army already". I noted he is not happy with his decision "I don't feel I'm ready yet, this island is so small and the world so big. I want to learn more" seth already knew that it wouldn't stop me but he had to try. "I'm planning to leave tomorrow at sunset then I take a ship to the ketano region where there are many master in magic and sword, so come take a goodbye when I leave ok? "I'll be there" he said and then we both walked back to home.
Part 3: the harbours
I told my parents what I wanted and they let me go not really surprised by my decision. The next morning when the sky was still dark I went to take a shower and take some breakfast. While eating my uncle Renath walked in and took a seat near me. "I heard you where leaving so I thought you might appreciate what I have for you". He put his hands in his bag and took out arm bracelet. It was a chain made of mythrill that boosts my magical powers. He put it on my arm and he took look it good it looked on me. "thanks Renath". "Well I have to go again have good and save journey my friend". I waved at him seeing my uncle go back to his temple.
When my father and mother woke up I was nearly already to leave. The sun was nearly above the south mountains and I knew it was time to leave. I was really was excited about it I put some potions in his back along with some food and other things. Then picked up my sword and I put it on my back. then a moment later seth walks in the cave looking for me, afraid I was already gone. "hey I'm glad I could make it I have to say goodbye to you". I walked to him and shows him my new bracelet "nice isn't it, got it from Renath as gift" when he was ready he walks to his parents "I will really miss you a lot but I will come back as a mighty warrior to defend my land and the king" the I walked to seth "I will miss you to my friend, I will come back, I promise" with that he walk outside heading for the harbours.
When I reached the harbours I looked for my ship. The ship was called "the dragon's pride" it was the only ship that was able to carry other such a long distance on the sea. "Ahhh there is my ship". I walked to ship when I reached i climbed aboard. A big dragon walked to me and asked me for my ticket and destination. "here's my ticket and I'm going to the ketano region."
The dragon took another look and said "ok that good you're a bit early we will leave about 2 hours maybe u can find some entertaining in the saloon over there" he points at building right in front of the ship. "You might want to leave your stuff in your room below the ships" he gives me a key of my room. "ohw I almost forgot to say you have a room mate so watch your stuff". I grinded "no need it's magically sealed only I can touch it" and I walk down the stairs to his room. When I want to unlock my room I find out it was already open. My roommate is already here I think. I opened the door and sees a Bengal tiger preparing his stuff to leave to the shore. He was about 7 feet tall typically orange, black and white fur. I stood there watching the tiger for almost 2 minutes. "what your looking at never seen tiger before?". Amazed by this creature I could barely say "n-no I never saw one of your race" the tiger picked up his stuff "I'm going to the saloon you might come to it's good place for some fun". I put my stuff on my bad and looked how much money I had. I had enough for 5 days. I heard footsteps on the floor, when I looked it was the tiger again. "sorry I forgot my wallet. are u coming with me to the saloon" he asks "it will be fun". Why not I thought. Okay I said. "my name is Leo" the tiger said. "mine's kifra" so kifra where are you heading? I'm going to the ketano region to seek for challengers and master who can learn all sort of things about the way of fighting and living. So you are a warrior? Leo said. Yes and a pretty decent one to. You going to need that he said. They arrived at the saloon. Leo went straight for the bar and order a beer for himself. I was looking around the saloon and I saw the most beautiful dragoness I ever saw. She had purple scaled skin wings and some very sharp claws she was wearing grey robe and blue jeans she had eyes like sapphire and 2 white horns on her head. She didn't look real happy. I decided to walk over her while thinking what to say. "hey had a bad day?". She looked up to me and smiles "not really just my stupid ex came and had to make fun of me again, he just left". I looked to door hoping I saw him but he was of course already gone. "can I sit here?" I asked. "Yeah sure" she said. We talked a bit about her and about me what we liked and do for living. Suddenly she said "ohw no he there he is again, quick go before he sees us" I looked back and saw a black dragon with eyes of fire he had giant wings I guessed it was a shadow dragon. Those dragon where known about there fierce temper and they did not have much patience and he was not happy when he saw me sitting with her. He walked to us. Even I was not watching anymore my sixth sense told me to be aware of his presence. "what the heck are u doing with my girl u red lizard. Lizard was a name they gave it to you if u couldn't fly and was a dragon. U can compare it with bitch or anything like that. "Your girl? She told me you left her so now its not your girl or is it?" I said with a tone he didn't like. I better didn't say that. He picked me up and throw me across the saloon. Because my fighting techniques I was able to land on my feet "HEY if u fight, fight outside" yelled the barkeeper. I teleported myself outside waiting for him to come I already prepared my mana for an attack. Then he came outside with a sword. Followed with mass of other dragons and furs. Damn a sword. I wanted pick mine sword but then I found out that it was still in the ship. Leo said "your sword is your room right?" I nodded "okey hang on I get it for you" leo ran to the ship to get my sword. I noticed the dragoness was standing behind me and yelling to watch out for his sword. Then he goes in the air and dove right toward me, I launched my fire spell and my ice spell to him, the fire hit him but ice spell he blocked with his sword. The fire spell did not much damage but enough for me to prepare for his impact on me. He first used his sword witch I avoided then one foot of him hit my chest and I fell. I looked to the ship wondering if leo was coming. He didn't came yet. As my sense noticed he was turning back to attack me again I gathered mana again this time twice as much as my last spell, 1 sec before he would have hit me I teleported behind him and I launched 2 thunder spell's again. He was confused that I disappeared. He saw me behind him and wanting to turn but it was to late as my spells both hit there target 1 spell hits it wing and the other his back. unable to fly again I ran to him with full speed to hit him with my nails of my foot. As I saw my nails entering his body he screamed it out. Before I could get away he shoots fire from is mouth at me it hits my arm and a part of my chest. Feeling my chest and arm in fire I activated a inner healing spell to get lost of the burned feeling. It took 30 sec till the pain was gone. After 10 min I would feel it tough. I jumped back preparing to block his attack. As I tried to dodge his sword It hits my scales going slightly trough them this pain was much worse then the fire . "kifra here's your sword" he throw to me and I picked up in the air like a professional. "nice throw leo". Now we where equal his chest was bleeding just like my arm. I remembered suddenly what the shopkeeper said to me you can even put magic in it to make it stronger and make elemental attacks. I tried to put a lightning spell in it. It felt weird, it was like the i could even control the magic inside the sword and launch it from there. As I continued charging it began to glow up. I could even see the electricity surrounding my double sided sword. He came running at me again but differently I didn't see what but It felt like he was up to something. He wasn't going to attack normally just 4 meters before me he vanished. I did not knew what happened. Then suddenly I saw him behind me and I knew what was going on. He had used a cloaking spell. still I could block his attack easily with a barrier spell. I always had some mana charged for cases like this. Before he found out it had no use to break the barrier I hit him with my sword and gets a big shock from the electricity from sword. He nearly fell unconscious but he was able to managed to get the things straight again. "what the hell did you do with your sword?" I felt good to trick someone "I just added some magic to it". Looking at his condition he had not much more energy for 1 attack. "give it up man u can't fight like this" he get real mad now, his eyed wide open I could feel his rage, he ran at me and attack with his sword with all his strength. I could easily block because much strength he didn't had. Then I hit him with my knees in his stomach and witch mad him fly back and fall to ground. "it's over" I said "I won" then the dragoness ran at me and said "you're my hero thank you" she kissed me at me cheek what makes me blush "no problem". The black dragon got up again and headed home. "I didn't told my name yet" she said holding my hand "my name is lara, your name is kifra right? I heard the tiger saying it to you. Together we walked back inside the saloon. "hey you won of him? The barkeeper asked? "yeah don't worry he is still alive" the barkeeper was surprised to see him back because that dragon was one of the best in this neighbourhood "hey watch your name red one?" I looked back at him and smiled "my name is kifra, do you have some bandage for my arm cause its still bleeding.
"no need" lara said "I'm a healer I can heal it for you". Watching how see was working with arm I saw the wound disappear. I took another drink and we talk for some time. Then I saw the my time was nearly up. "I'm sorry I have to catch my ship or I will be to late" she looked surprised. "ship? What ship?" the dragon's pride I go to the ketano region for some training. "that's amazing I'm on that ship to and I also have to go to the ketano region" well I see you at the ship then I said. "bye kifra see you later"
When I came to my room in the ship leo was already making up his bed for tonight. So I did that to. "damn you can really put up a good fight huh?" I smiled back "yeah I guess so, thanks for bringing my sword" then we both went back ay what we where doing. Later that day I met lara again with some other girls talking about my fight putting every little detail in, saying how good, strong and talented I was. "talking about my fight again" she smiled and sat next o me on the railing of the ship. "so this my hero with out him I got beaten by my ex again". Listening what she said I felt really protective. "he was good but could take him" and so we talked about the fight again with some other furs and dragons who where interested. Then the bell ring. It was time for diner "would you like to join me on the table" she asked kindly to me. "Yeah sure". We ate fish tonight, not my favourite but I just ate it. After diner I went back to my room and take a good night sleep because my journey began tomorrow.
