Chasing Wolves - Day 2
This story is a continuation of https://www.sofurry.com/view/1781276
I've decided it was getting too big to edit properly. This a continuation of prompts from Day 12 - Neighbor.
Chase is a budding actor who just managed his big break, but unforeseen events bring him back to his hometown.
Set to Adult because obviously I'm a horndog.
Due to the nature of this challenge, I will be updating daily (if possible).
Prompts are separated by - - - - - so any change in tone isn't my fault.
Chasing Wolves by Flasker
Saturday
It was the first day of high school and the teen was eager to for a new start. Unlike their middle school, the local high school had a large population due to students from nearby unincorporated towns coming to attend as well. The size while still moderate meant that the student body wasn't filled with all the same faces. It also somewhat diluted the local wolf/canine majority to a more even split between them and the other furs. Humans of course were still in the minority.
Chase swept his hair behind his back, annoyed that it was growing too long since over the summer. He would have to cut his own hair again, he had gotten good at it, though the back was a different matter. He would often need to help of Mabel to trim the back. His grandmother was too shakey and honestly he'd rather not tempt the chance of her giving him a bowl cut. Tucking a stray lock behind his hair and he grinned with a smug smirk. Ever since that incident at the lodge he and Hunter had been meeting more. They hung out in secret all the time til school ended and summer began. Those few months had been some of the best times of his young life.
His uncle did keep to his promise and had started to be the most frequent officer to pay him a visit when it came to dealing with his mother. He didn't miss a moment to shoot the youth a snide remark and would sometimes harass him on the way to and from home. Thankfully it didn't last long, when he got elected to sheriff- the wolf pack tend to vote as a bloc. Chase briefly thought of a wolf super-pac pun but though better of it. The job took most of his attention and having to settle into the office took a lot of time. Chase also had the ill fortune of having his phone broken in the tussle with the older Howle and lamented for the ancient device.
The wolf looked adorable in a cast and at one point had to get a cone because he couldn't stop licking it, though Chase guessed it was more of a gag than out of actual medical need. He had asked Chase what happened to him after he fell off the window and got knocked out. The boy was conflicted about telling him the whole truth, he didn't want Hunter to suffer whatever stressors he was already feeling about his uncle so he just hid most of it, telling him he got left at the station and had to stay a few hours while they filled some paper works. The wolf looked worriedly at him.
He brushed it off and ribbed the wolf for being so afraid of getting caught. Chase half wanted to find out from his reaction the reason why, but the wolf just got quiet and said nothing. Maybe it was a good thing he didn't bring up his uncle as the one who caught him, he did not know that his uncle was taking over the role as parent figure to Hunter. He knew his dad had left a while ago, something about doing work out of state or some such but didn't realize he had disappeared off the radar. Wolf pack dynamics are varied and change from tribe to tribe, though a common thread they all shared was that of alphas and how they were more or less responsible for the entire pack.
When no response was coming he laid off the pup, he already suspected abuse- hell he's no stranger to it. With a shrug he put on his brightest smile and just nudged the pup careful to avoid the cast. The wolf winced like a big wuss and gave him a reproachful pout. Chase had thought at kissing him but the cast and the mood really didn't match and he couldn't find a moment to reignite that intimacy.
Over the summer Hunter had to attend some pack related events, apparently going deep into the mountain for some rite of adulthood rituals and vacationing. Chase was a little upset but was glad it was more of a family gathering than just him and his uncle, apparently he was going to be busy tending to his new office. He couldn't help but imagine some lewd ceremony taking place to initiate the wolf into adulthood and giggled at the oblivious wolf who was stared back with that confused head tilt. That was the last they had saw of one another till start of school.
Chase glanced around the corridors, trying to find his locker and was surprised to see a familiar silhouette just around he corner. Apparently the lockers were sorted by last names. He grinned a little, the wolf had grown a big over the summer and puberty hit him hard. He'd only an inch taller than Chase the last time they saw one another, but over the summer he'd apparently grown four or five inches. Chase himself had only grown an inch or so, putting himself at 5' 8". He was a bit jealous, those furs and their ridiculous growth spurts. Damn now he really is the little one. The wolf wore some baggy clothes that hid his form and was apparently talking to someone out of view, animatedly. Only his back was showing and the tail was wagging at an even pace. The boy- no teenager walked up behind him intending to surprise the wolf when he saw them rounding the corner. He gaped.
The wolf had his arms around a cute little wolfess in red and another arm around a female husky. Trailing behind him were several others, including Max and Greg and another dog, a German shepherd. The wolf gave him a slight look of surprise before he face returned to normal. He overcompensated by take an arm off the wolfess and shoved Chase into the locker.
“Move it pinky." He gave a smirk and the rest gave a howl of approval and the little pack of canines brushed past everyone else. New school, same old shit.
Chase was more shocked than any else. He wasn't expecting them to come out or anything but well…
He huffed, if the idiot wants to act ignorant- two can play at game. He slammed his locker and just gave an audible exhalation. Just in time to see Kyle rounding the corner, looking like he'd missed something. He eyed Chase and gave a grin.
“Morning neighbor. How's it going?"
The two youths had lived in the same neighborhood since they could remember and Chase was glad to see him.
“Good to see you too. Haven't seen you much over the summer, something come up?" He asked, wondering where the wolf-dog had gone.
“Oh uh I got to visit the wolf packs. They let me stay in their resort!" He has a smile plastered on his face.
“Huh, good for you. You see Hunter there?"
“Oh yeah a few times, I couldn't actually get to where they were. They just let my family camp in their lands. Still damn that place was pretty. Waterfalls, hiking trails, rivers, and there's even a secret trail up the mountain to what I hear is an amazing view. They make the park look like a joke."
“Really? Always wondered about."
“Yeah something about tribal land and being original settlers. Apparently they got it as some sort of compromise." He answer knowingly, as if Chase had queried the encyclopedia on Riverton lupine history. “Oh hey did you see Hunter?"
Chase frowned at him. “Oh he went that-aways. He gestured to where they left, still a touch annoyed at the wolf.
“Thanks, catch you later!" The wolf-dog waved him a friendly good bye and skidded away.
Chase just shook his head, collecting his books and just went to his first class.
Over the course of the day he'd gotten his new class schedule, got acquainted with his homeroom teacher- a dour tabby cat. To his surprise Hunter was in his homeroom, the wolf was in the corner, chatting with the wolfess and flexing an arm. The boy tried to catch his eyes but the wolf only gave him a dismissive look. It was pretty much that way the entire period, with him eventually giving up and looking at his schedule. He had noticed he was also the only human in this particular homeroom, an unfortunate draw considering humans still made up at least a fifth of the student body.
When homeroom ended, Hunter leaped up from his seat- and shoved Chase to the side. The wolf had taken his backpack!
“W-what are you doing?" He gape, watching as the wolf had his back to him opening compartments and sifting around.
“Nothing, just checking out what I'm gonna have for lunch." Hunter pulled out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple, and some candies. The wolf's voice was cracking a bit, deepening noticeably since spring.
“Well this is just sad." The wolf just grabbed the candies and toss the pack back at him.
Chase luckily caught the thing before anything actually spilled out. His cheeked burned as several of his classmates tried their best to ignore the interaction. The homeroom teacher thought it wasn't worth interfering and just ignored the little display.
“Come on Sandra, let's get out of here!" The wolfess joined him, ignoring the human and giggling in Hunter's arms. The two left the human stupefied.
For the next four periods the human just fumed. He sat in the back of his math class with a glare that could kill.
So much for that! That stupid mutt! I'll-
Chase drew X's on the face of a cartoon wolf. Whatever, he'd dealt with this before, he can do it again. He didn't seem to realize that the other students were getting a bad first impression of him. He was too blind to care.
It wasn't til lunch that he finally settled down. Hunter's didn't share the same lunch period as him and he was almost glad for that. He wanted to sit at the table with the most humans, but it was mostly juniors and senior so it felt a bit awkward. Instead the boy picked the seat with the weirdos and geeks. He eyed a deflated looking chocolate lab begging a border collie with thick set glasses, asking him for help with his homework.
“Aster come on, just let me copy the answerrrr." The lab moaned.
“Unbelievable, you really took a nosedive in hygiene. What the hell were you doing over the summer?" The nerdy collie huffed. Besides them was a chubby or if he was being flattering, “big boned" pit-bull who was munching on several slices of pizza- the cafeteria meal of the day.
“And Cass stop stuffing your mouth like that, you guys really let yourself go. And why are you soaked in de-scenters!?"
“Mlem mlem, take that stick out of your ass man. Chill out." The pitbull said as he deepthroated a pizza. The display both disgusting and oddly sexual.
Chase was just grossed out and chose to sit on the opposite end of the table. He fished out his lunch while ignoring them. He fished out his sandwich and apple, and only then noticed a folded note at the bottom of his backpack. Curiously he unfolded the letter, and read it.
After school, by the bleachers.
Huh…
The note sat at the back of his thoughts for the rest of day. The hours of the day seemed to drag out, the sun took its arc across the sky in a long lazy arc. Its still felt very much like summer, the din of the the noonday sun combined with the susurrations of crickets gave the day a feeling of a lazy July. A telltale heat haze could be seen in the window. When the last bell rung Chase got up from his seat and made a beeline for the bleachers. He roamed the halls in the direction counter to the rest of the students. When at last he arrived to his destination, he took out his classwork and decided now was as good a time as any to do his homework. It didn't last long.
He drank in the view of the football field, if Riverton had one thing to pride itself in. It was its football team, they made semi-finals last year and it wasn't hard to see why. The furs on the team were massive, the shortest of them was still easily over 6 feet. He guessed he'd caught them just in time for practice. They had the first few weeks of school to decide what sports or club to take. Chase eyed the rump of a bull anthro, doing squats and choked a little. He made his way to the bleachers, ignoring the practice- with difficulty.
Chase waited for several minutes for Hunter. He eyed the large clock and let out a sigh, wondering what was going on. It was almost twenty minutes before he decided to just give up, that was until he saw him. The pup- no wolf was lumbering out to the field in a new set of gear. His throat dried at the sight of the wolf now. Out of his baggy clothings and into some form fitting clothes, the pants accentuating his legs and rump. The wolf wore of a loose wife beater and was showing signs of developing muscles. He was doing stretches alongside Max, Greg, the German shepherd, and ... Kyle?
Chase just noticed the wolf-dog was couldn't help but be a little proud of him. He'd grown as well, still on the lanky side. He looked more like he just wanted to participate rather than actually give an earnest attempt.
Soon the new kids were all lined up at one end of the field. The coach, a large black wolf with golden hair held out a whistle. He explains that they were going to do laps across the field until he told them to stop. He motioned his wrist and everyone got into positions then blew the whistle.
Hunter was the first to move, already several foot ahead of the second fastest fur, a horse with a sleek white coat. They ran back and forth for several laps until everyone was starting to tired, the pace was brutal and the humans were the first to tire. Most of them were already half a lap behind the pack. There were a few outlier of course and by the time the laps were over the runners were ranked.
Hunter easily took first place, the pitch black wolf had a light sheen of sweat on him. A cheetah was second, just shy of him- he had caught up and overtook the wolf for a bit but stamina was not his forte. The third was Max, the wolf was panting extra hard while the fourth place- the horse was casually breathing in and out. Greg was seventh and surprisingly a human managed eight place, he was tall, tanned skin and had a wicked smile. Kyle was near the back and was on par with the humans.
The top ten made the cut, and Chase felt sorry for the wolf-dog but he couldn't tear his eyes off Hunter. The wolves just hugged it out and teased Kyle a little too hard. Kyle however didn't seem all too dejected and was last seen with the coach, talking to him animatedly.
Slowly the mass of fur and flesh departed the fields, congratulating or consoling one another. Some had decided to to go straight home in their current clothes while the majority went to the lockers.
That brought some indecent thoughts bubbling to the surface. He could just imagine the boys nude in the showers, teasing each other, slapping one another on the ass and playing gay chicken. They might just teeter on the edge of kissing or something, their lips would be suckling on one another's perk nipples and groping those hard toned abdominals-
“You're thinking of something nasty aren't you, little one?" A humorous voice chuckled at him.
Chase froze in place, but instantly recognize the cracking voice of Hunter. He was tempted to give a cheeky reply but huffed and gave the wolf a glare.
“What's it to you?" He muttered.
“Nothing, just thought you'd enjoy the view." The wolf tried smile confidently at him, he was bit nervous.
“You got something to say? I got somewhere to be, or is this a test?"
“What" The wolf deflated a little.
“You trying to see if I'm interest or something, give you a reason to bully the faggot?" He accused.
“L-look I'm sorry, I can't be seen acting chummy with humans okay. And especially not you." He whined a little.
Chase rolled his eyes. “Figures, uncle got you by the balls?"
Hunter lunged at him with a fearsome glint, almost mirroring Brock in some ways. It was equally terrifying and arousing. The contact was more relaxed however.
“I ain't a coward." He snarled, but then paused. “But I'm not an idiot either, you don't know what he's like when he's angry. Ever since he saw you locked up for trespassing he's been telling me to avoid you. And he can be… very persuasive." His ears just flopped at that.
Chase felt a pang of guilt for the wolf now, he had experience a little of what his uncle could be like, he did not want to imagine what the elder would do to discipline Hunter. He did roll his eyes a little at the omission of his uncle being the one who arrested him.
“Uh uh… and the shoving and stealing my lunch?" He grumbled.
“Uhm I just gotta keep up appearance, if I didn't tease you the others would've done worse. And I had to get a message to you somehow. You really need to get a phone."
I did, you uncle broke it. He still lamented for his phone.
“Oh? And what about that wolfess?" He thought he'd nail the wolf on that one.
“Who Sarah? W-wha about her?" He tried to deflect the question.
“What is she your girlfriend?"
“N-no? Look I told you I need to keep appearance okay? She doen't mean anything to me! Not everyone's as brave as you." He pleaded.
I didn't choose to be brave. Chase just sigh. _He is probably scared shitless of what his pack thinks._In some ways the boy was glad his family consisted of a crazy mother, an elderly but open minded grandmother and uhh Mabel. He could live with this compromise, couldn't he?
“Whatever, fine! So what does it make us?" He raised an eye at the wolf, who was surprised at the question.
“Erhm, us?"
“What do you call this? I mean we hung out till the end of school, then you left for summer. Got taller and bigger and-"
“Sexier?" Hunter grinned and flexed an arm, he still had a sheen on him. His fur was almost trimmed down along his body though he still had a wild mane of hair.
Chase rolled up his homework thumped him on the head, with the hint of a blush.
“Ow, you sure you're not part wolf?"
Chase almost whacked the wolf at that comment, he slowly raised hishomework like a club.
“Sorry sorry, w-wha do you want us to be?"
“Nuh uh, you're the one who screwed up." He jabbed at the nose. “So fix it."
“F-friends?"
“Is that all?"
“Close friends?"
“How close?" They the noticed how close they actually were, their face taking up the entire view of the other. Chase could smell the wolf's heavy musk, the scent made more apparent from the running. It had a pleasant yet spicy profile, a combination of sweat, grass, and hormones
“Very…" They closed around each other, their lips slowly approaching one another's. Pick up where they left off that spring night up on that abandoned village.
The kiss was awkward, neither had done it before and the mismatch between a muzzle and flat lips made it sloppy. Still the two soldiered on, Chase and Hunter locked lips and for a brief moment in time everything felt alright.
He could taste the wolf in his lips, that tenative muzzle. The particular taste of the wolf that was both alien yet comforting. Like trying out a new favorite food for the first time, the kind that you find in the foreign markets and couldn't get enough of once the strangeness faded. The wolf embraced the smaller human and their bodies closed around the other's. The moment felt like it would last forever, his hands roaming the wolf's back- the arms already finding it difficult to fully close around the larger male. He slowly guided is hands up the wolf's back and the wolf got a bit more braver. He stopped kissing with just the lips and Chase now felt an eager tongue invading his mouth, is he really going to-
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Chase awaken from his bed in a half drool. He jerked his head left to right before checking the phone in his hand, he noticed he was sporting a semi. He started at the time, it was 6 in the morning and he just groaned. He'd forgotten to change it again, the damn thing was his old work schedule and he kept putting off changing the time. He thought better though, at least it would help him avoid people if he was up early enough.
The half dead man got off the bed and zombied to the bathroom. He showered to wake up and it only half helped, all the while he was brushing his teeth. He'd probably pee in the showers if he were in the mood. The habit to save water ingrained in him since childhood. Somethings never change. He got his lazy ass to the bed half soaking and buck naked. Rinsing his hair with the towel he suddenly heard a loud set of grunts next door, it sounded like couple are in the throes of passion, very early in the morning. The neighbors were only getting louder.
Well that woke him up. He groaned and eyed the window, the sun wasn't even up yet.
The man eyed his outfit for the day, funeral attire.
He sighed, it was going to be a long day.
Chase eyed his clothes for the day it was a pair of form fitting and expensive black suit jacket, white dress shirt, and suit pants, he realized he forgot the shoes but dismissed it- the funeral was going to be a small event at best. If he thought he was dressing up before, this would be dialing it to an eleven. He decided that wearing the formal clothes outright was standing out too much, so he would wear the shirt and pants and stick with the hoodie until he was at the funeral. Chase sniff the hoodie, well it didn't smell too bad. He went to his luggage case and took out the de-scenter spray, shaking it again. Well this is probably the last spray he has left. A liberal application of the minty scent coated him, its aerosolizing mist lightly dancing in the lamplight. Shaking the hoodie for a bit to air it out, he then applied whatever was left over to get rid of that day old smell and dump the can in the trash.
Then the phone rang. Chase eyed his phone and saw that it was Carol, his vulpine agent. He contemplated just hanging up but he'd already put her off long enough and it's his hang up not hers. He picked up the phone and sigh.
“Hello-"
“Hey, hi, yo good morning superstar. Sorry was I too early, I forgot you're not supposed to be still on your old time were you? No? Well I'm just calling to check up on my favorite human! Oh hi yes it's a tall vanilla caramel frappe, extra ice, extra cream, extra cinnamon, hold the whip and- oh where was I again- ah yes did you look at the messages? Hold on miss I'll repeat that." The vixen yapped on non-stop, the super productive fox was as usual working on all cylinders.
“Carol," he sighed, “good morning to you too, slow down, you're shouting again."
Chase just heaved a sigh, she'll crash by lunch as usual- but morning hours are always her most productive. He probably shouldn't be too hard on her, the fox had taken a chance on him when he started out, especially since she was employed at a fur heavy agency and was relatively new. It was also by chance that he picked her as his agent as furs were considered less well connected in the media industry, making up less than a third of the workforce. Recent laws and social upheaval had increased the demand for more mixed species television and FBO was one of the most recent networks to embrace that change. The pay was admittedly worse, hence the minimum wage but considering the fact that he had to live off cup noodle, junk food and inadequate nutrition before that. It could be worse.
Now he might consider the vixen one of his best friends, if not the best.
Two novitiates trying to make a break in the industry, with very little connections and less funding. They had on one occasion even shared an apartment to save on cost. The awkward moment when she tried to flirt with him forever burned in his mind's eye. Thankfully she brushed it off and did not treat him any differently, though the lingering embarrassment did haunt the both of them for several days. He will always be grateful to her for helping land him the FBO gig, he'd asked her many times how she managed to pull it off but the vixen would always give him a wink and say it's a secret.
“And yeah I saw the messages..." He paused. “Do I really have to do a full frontal?"
“Aw come on it's not so bad, all the cool kids do it now. Besides it's going to be like one full second, two max! I got them down from 5 seconds!" Chase could imagine the vixen stretching her hands out, fingers splayed to drive the point home.
“Agh, you know how I am about doing nudity!"
“Aw but you did that sex scene as Grayson where you had to go to town on-"
“That's different!" He blushed furiously. “I showed nothing below the belt, and it mostly beneath the sheets. Also they just gave me skin colored underwear."
“Huff, oh fine! I'll try to convince the director again. But Casey er- Chase. You need to know this is the big big break. Legion is popular, but if you want a breakout role you need one where you're the star and not the supporting albeit very hot side character!" She puffed out. “Alan is the real deal, and you know how he is when he chooses a new actor to take under his wings. The last three who worked with him not only got an in with some of the bigwigs, they also got some really big roles. Think Geddon or Trenton, they're practically A-listers now!"
“They're also straight as an arrow." He mumbled.
“Relax, believe it or not one of them's secretly bi. Uh not telling who, besides it's not as big a deal as it once was. I know you're worried, keeping it close to the heart and all. You just gotta um time these things, don't reveal it until you make it big. People are more comfortable with ambiguous than straight out loud and proud. Look I've been in some private rooms, and it's still a boys club. Straight boys. They might be supportive because it's popular to do so but that don't mean they like it when its being shoved in their face. I've heard of some guys being turned down because they didn't look straight enough for the role, ugghhh." He could feel her rolling her eyes as she sipped her beverage, the hum of motors in the background. “Once they get to know you, it'll be easier to come out. If they don't ask and all that, ya know?"
Like I'll tell anyways, the last time people found out I was gay…
“Yeah, I know. Don't worry about it come from me."
All the more reason no one from town can connect him to his actor persona. He could trust maybe a handful of people, which is telling when he knew half the neighborhood.
“I know the funeral's today so I won't ask for a response until Sunday- that's the furthest I can delay things okay?"
“Alright, I'll let you know tomorrow. Drive safe, thanks again Carol."
“Okay okay, love you superstar! Come back in one piece ok? Get me a souvenir while you're at it. I've never been to a town before, something from the park? Take some photos, see the sight. Get reacquainted with some old buddies! Ooh ohh maybe you and that ex you keep complaining about can-" He hung up.
Chase opened the blinds and peered the windows once again, just a sliver of sunlight appeared on the horizon. One thing he always loved about his town was how scenic everything felt, the town oozed atmospheric. A mix of the old and the new, with a rich history and apparently a bright future with the expanded park. Maybe it could be the next Yosemite or Zion. He thought maybe this was why the first wolves settled here, it was their Zion- their pilgrimage that ended here in this quiet corner of heaven, and sometimes hell. Kyle would probably know. He frowned at the thought of his former best friend and banished the memory.
The human thought about getting breakfast and fished out a plastic bag to stow his expensive jacket. The mismatch hoodie and suit pant somehow worked, in that it made him look tasteless. He put on his shoes, thankful they were dark enough to pass as dress shoes though they were closer to loafers, Mabel probably couldn't tell the difference. With one final cursory glance around his room, he practice his going out ritual once again.
Keys and key-card check. Phone check. Wallet check.
He gingerly made his way down the stairs once again and practically ran in Alex. The chocolate lab gave him the widest smile and practically shouted as Chase wrapped his mouth around the boisterous dog.
“HI CASEY GOO-dmorningf ter yu too! Howsh mah bhest budd. Wut der ya dink of der Arkadeya. Dith yu shleep well? Wen cahn ah get a photoh?" Incredibly the lab just kept talking with his mouth wrapped and was drooling around Chase's hands. He did settle down thankfully and the human pried his hands away wet with saliva.
“Hi Alex, good morning to you too. Please keep quiet, you know I'm on a secret assignment so uh please keep it down."
“Oh right right." He nodded sagely, as if though it was obvious. “I was worried when I didn't hear you coming in last night so I checked my security camera. You are really good at sneaking, maybe Sheriff Howle can take some lessons from you! Hehe."
That sent ice down his veins.
“No, no uh don't. Don't tell him I was ever here, its uh a secret assignment. Don't want to any officials involved until it's uhh official." He panicked, memories from the past flashing before his eyes.
“Aw he's not that bad, nice fellow he even-"
“Alex." Chase growled, almost feral. “Do. Not. Tell. Him." He gave the startled lab an intense stare that made the dog froze in his entirety.
Whatever Alex saw shut him up.
“R-right okay" He gulped. “I won't say anything."
“Sorry but it's really important." He got the dog a pat. “If you do your part right, I might even invite you to the set on Legion, meet some of my fellow actors. You'd love Kerry, or Riley, or even Jackie. That's Mercurial if you didn't know." That instantly lifted the dog's spirit, tails wagging again.
“R-really? Okay okay you can count on me!"
“Good, you can do that for everyone else right?"
“Er uhm, I think one or two friends might've seen what I wrote but they won't be a problem, hopefully…" His wag slowed.
Chase groaned. “Well that's just great. Okay fine whatever. Look just keep them off my scent for today and tomorrow. That shouldn't be too hard right?"
“No not at all! And speaking of scent." The dog sniffed him. “Hehe you smell like the stuff I used to wear when I was a kid. Really helps hide the stink of some activities." The lab gave him a conspiratorial wink. No doubt thinking about his days as a pot head, Chase on the other hand…
He shook his head. “A-anyways I'm gonna be off to get breakfast."
“Aw you sure you don't want what we've got? There's coffee, the continental-" Alex offered.
“Can't, you know. Busy busy. If anything does come up, you have my number!" He gave the dog a friendly wave and ran out the door as it jingled.
The dog looked lamely at the human, as if trying to catch his after image.
It took a minute before Chase caught himself, he'd subconsciously went back towards the shortcut and took a look around the mostly empty parking lot. He slowly turned around, eying where the sheriff's car had previously been yesterday and breathed a sigh of relief. It's gone. He mulled over whether or not to take the shortcut, eying towards the grassy passage then back to the front of the inn. He hadn't noticed it before but there were spray cans and paint littered on the ground, some badly drawn graffiti still visible from the back of the new building, he noticed a window opened through the scaffolding. The annex was still being painted over though the part that was being tagged was over the old faded coat.
Looking down and realizing he was wearing suit pants, he decided against the shortcut. Tugging on the wrapped jacket in his arm he circled back to the front and rounded the corner back to the main road into town.
He looked up at the still dawn sky, it was still mostly gray and checked his phone. Cloudy with a chance of rain just like the collie had said. He caught the battery at the corner and sigh, he forgot to charge it. Actually he forgot his charger now that he realized it and cursed his luck, he paused again and almost turned around- thinking about asking Alex to use his charge when the ground shook like a miniature earthquake.
A huge truck blazed down the street, its loud exhaust and gas guzzling engines alone could drown out a protest rally. Chase looked up and saw a pit-bull at the driver's seat munching on some kind of finger food and what looked like a German shepherd lazily chatting on the phone deep into his seat. The passengers didn't seem to notice the shorter human as it slowed past him, easing into the inn.
“… yeah, we're at the Arcadia. No, not the whole day! It's the weekends man! Honestly Cass did you really have the bring out the truck for this."
“Mhm yeah but we left the door open last time so its our fault, let's got eat at the hotel before starting."
“Yeah well, I'm gonna have a big ass breakfast on his dime. I ain't starting till 7..."
He caught the conversation as the truck lumbered by.
This place is starting to get crowded and the actor did not feel like sticking around much longer to ask what's going on.
The walk to the diner had a different feel than the walk out last night. He hadn't noticed the improved roadway, the most egregious potholes paved over and the sidewalks repainted- a minor earthquake years ago had caused some unflattering cracks on the road to form. Two streetlights that donned the main road were in a state of mid-repair, one of which looks like it's being rewired.
A human and kangaroo pair wearing the parks uniform can be seen hauling some small trees from a pickup truck, the roots of the trees wrapped for transportation.
He made his way to the diner and was glad it was open 24-7 even here in Riverton. The human could see maybe two other customers, one white and gold wolf leaving and the other an elderly poodle sipping coffee and doing the crosswords. He made his way in and could see a different server manning the counter, a short otter wearing rimless glasses. He went to one of the booths instead of the counter and dropped his suit. He didn't even take a second before a familiar doe greeted him.
“Heeyyy, how's my favorite customer doing?" The deer said in a half cheer, yawning with one hand cupping her mouth.
“I see someone's got my tip. What're you doing here this early?" He pondered.
“Dad's being hardass, it's totally against child labor laws to work me this hard. But also I really need the cash."
Clara took his order, which consisted of french toast, a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. He was quietly enjoying his coffee when a small group of pre-teens came running into the store, they chose the booth next to the entrance, which conveniently placed them next to him. Two wolves, a mixed breed dog, and a bobcat. When Clara came around to serve them, they waved her off, much to her dismay. They didn't long to settle in and huddle around.
“Dude this I can't believe you dragged me here on a Saturday." One of the wolf said, he was light black and brown, and looked half dead.
“Yeah but we totally left our shit at the hotel, and we need do it while no one's watching. I can't wake up any earlier! This is a catastrophe!" The mutt, who looked like a rottweiler/doberman mix whined, he look the most worried.
“It was so dumb to make the building our new hideout, I thought it was abandoned!" The other wolf, a black and white colored one said.
“Dude it was being renovated, how dumb can you guys get, do you know what scaffolds are? This is why cats are better than dogs. Next time you guys go tagging places you need to invite me." The bobcat huffed.
“Shit let's just go before they find out it's us, I think I left my wallet there." One of the wolf whined.
The kids rambled on while one by one they went to the counter, ordering dollar items off the counter from the otter.
Chase was amused, were these the vandals? He chuckled, he was not unfamiliar to trespassing and thought about the big pair of dogs who were now watching the building. The kids were now arguing about how to sneak in without being seen when Chase decided to throw them a bone.
“Hey you kids aren't planning on doing something illegal at the inn are you?" He felt like an old man lecturing them.
The sudden interjection caught the coterie by surprise, they shifted their attention to him.
“W-what's it to you man?" The mix asked, not without a mix of apprehension.
“Yeah piss off old fart." The black brown wolf barbed.
Okay that one hurt, he was not an old fart! That just rubbed the human the wrong way and he turned around, ready to leave them to their fate.
“Alright, if you wanna get caught be my guess, maybe you'll get paid a visit from the local sheriff." He muttered, kids these day!
“Uhm wait, what do you know uh sir..?" One of them asked.
“It's Casey and please… don't call me sir. I'm not that old."
“Hi Casey, I'm Mason." The black and white wolf said. “These are Danny, Kevin and Felix." He gestured to the other wolf, mixed dog, and bobcat respectively, they felt exposed being named but tried their best to recover.
“Hey."
“Hi."
“Yo."
“Hello boys, you guys look like you're in a bit of a pickle."
“Yeah no shit, you look new. You stayin' there?" The bobcat Felix asked, clearly the brains. He took a sip from his soda awkwardly while eying the man, a small drip of it spill from his muzzle.
“What's in it for you?" Kevin the mixed asked warily, that's the jittery one.
“Yeah we don't need help, if anything…" He gave Chase a reproachful look. "You're not gonna rat us out are you?" Danny was trying to act tough with a fist to palm smack and failing, so he's the tough guy. Chase just raised an eyebrow, he was taller than any of them.
“No wait guy, lets hear him out, he didn't need to tell us anything." Mason mediated, okay he might be the leader. “You'll help right?"
“I am. I'll help you guys get whatever you left at the building. But you're gonna promise me to not cause any more trouble at the inn alright?" He answered, he didn't tell them that the less trouble going on at the hotel the less attention there is. They gave half-assed assents, the kind kids always give for caving into an adult's demand. Well better than nothing.
“There's two guys that are gonna be staying at the annex for the better part of the day, but they're supposed to be at the hotel eating till seven at least."
“Shit. I can't wait all day my parent's are gonna kill me." Kevin moaned.
“It's already 6:40, let's go now. It takes like 15 minutes to get there let's hurry!" The bobcat the watch on his phone.
“What? It takes half that time, don't you know the shortcut?" He asked confused, it used to be that all the kids know that route.
“Huh? There's a shortcut? Never heard of it." Danny asked, munching on some fries.
“I know this secret passageway to the hotel from the back, it's at the back of that nearby electronics store, you can tell you're going the right way if you see a statue. There's also a window opened at the back, which I'm guessing you guys left open. " He told them surreptitiously.
They gaped in slight awe, as if they had been told something no one else should know. The effect didn't last long when they started munching on their food. The group collected themselves in a hurry, talking over one another and planning their heist.
“Thanks for the help old man. Let's hurry guys, I think there were still some cans left to uh retrieve." Mason grinned, the boys already getting up to leave. None of them left a tip, well Clara is gonna be pissed. He could see her casting a dark gaze at the booth with the left over trash.
“I'm not an old man." Chase pouted as he sipped his coffee. He left another generous tip for Clara for to compensate for the kids. The sun cast a diffused light on the town, half tucked behind some gray clouds. He left the diner with a wave to the doe and bounded down the street, careful to avoid wrinkling the suit as he walked.
Chase donned his hood, slipped on his sunglasses and made his way through the streets, towards the heart of town- homeward.
Chase's walk home was filled with half dread and worry. He began to think what kind of reception he would be getting and hoped his cousin wouldn't be too hard on him. The road deeper into Riverton grews more familiar the further in he went, the usual wear of paint and faded cracks dotted the street. Apparently most of the work beingdone were to the exterior of the town. Several people dotted the sidewalk, and none of them familiar. People change and he wasn't the only one to have gone through a metamorphosis in the decade or so he'd been away. He reconsidered staying for the comet's event and just leave after the funeral, but Mabel deserved at least the weekend to catch up and reminisce.
He checked back to his phone and realizing how dangerously low it was, powered the device off. Carol wasn't going to check on him until much later anyways.
While walking by he saw what he guessed to be a human couple, or what he assumed to be a couple. The girl looked at him and gave a wink laced with innuendo. The boyfriend caught the gesture and glared daggers at him. He only wave them by while grinning innocently. He always thought it was strange how humans are considered more attractive than other species, he'd heard it was because they are the most portrayed in films and television but the man always had a thing for canines more. Guess it depends on where you grew up. He'd just realized that he had never been in a relationship with a human, somehow that didn't bother him.
The man stood lost in thought when he reached the the end of the avenue. At the intersection between the main road and branching lanes stood a familiar sight.
There stood the gas station that he used to work at, memories of his first job surged back from the depths of his memory. Chase almost considered going in to see the old haunt but thought better. There was nothing there worth seeing. Instead he ruminated on old memories while anxiety needled him, walking down the winding road.
* * *
The awkward teenager manned the counter, bored out his mind and trying to find some way to entertain himself. He noticed a large form approaching the store and tried to ignore it.
Hunter push the door open with a growl, hackles raised. He had grown a few inches over the last year and it was already summer. The wolf had gained muscles noticably from being on the football team and it showed on his burgeoning physique. The wolf was also going through his rebellious phase the teen had tried to dye his hair (it didn't turn out too well) and had gone on to wearing leather jackets like a biker.
“Are you being passive aggressive again? Stop ignoring me!" He barked.
“Nope, just doing what you told me to do. Last I heard you told me to fuck off." He glared back.
“It's just an act-"
“Nope, nu-uh tired of this shit. You gonna pay for something or should I call the cops or your uncle?" He shot back.
The recoiled at that but then shot back. “You don't have the balls."
“I'm not the one whose afraid of his shadow. You're so afraid of your uncle I wouldn't be surprised if he's got your balls."
“Last I check they were on your face. And you weren't complaining." He countered.
“D-dude there's cameras there!" Chase blurted.
“Oh relax, it's audio silent. How'd you not know that?"
“I-I had this job for like a week!" He replied weakly, but glad of the change in topic. He blushed at the memory, he and Hunter had been going steady behind everyone's back and it had been a challenge. There aren't many places for two males to go much further, not in a town full of canines, and they got scared off from trying the village. Some of them canids have really good senses of smells; while not as potent as feral canine's they could still detect arousal and profile the individuals down to their age or breed. Those were thankfully rare, the town had maybe less than a dozen bloodhounds and none of them were on the force. They mostly stuck to kissing and lightly groping but had experimented. The first few times they'd done it, Chase had noticed how enthusiastic the wolf was. He certainly was on the dominant side, but always stopped when told to- not that Chase did that often.
The rough sex those two witnessed at the lodge had etched into their young malleable minds and it was probably what the pair kept trying to emulate.
The teenager also heard that some of the bullying was done due to the alpha, Brock. Apparently the Sheriff had a sort of bounty on the human, insinuating but never outright declaring the boy might have a 'defect'. Some of the wolves already didn't like him on account of his mother and took to it with glee. Hunter, always the coward never outright defended him but would help cushion the blows. He would try to redirect the blows, him being the biggest wolf, and would often try to call things off before it got too serious. There were other wolves from the pack that were rivals to the Howles and did not mind challenging Hunter on occasion.
Most of the time it was just shoving, name calling, vandalizing his locker or jeering at him on the walk to and from school. One time when the big wolf wasn't around Max and Greg took his gym clothes and peed on them, he didn't even feel the stains until he put them on. It was par for the course, the human was used to the treatment. He was just glad the wolf population was much smaller in school than in middle school. At least some of the furs and human felt sympathy for him, and would offer help. They of course never did so with the top dogs around. Still, to go from being ignored in elementary, to being mocked in middle school then to bullying in high school.
Then of course there was Kyle. The wolf-dog never took any direct participation but started associating less with the human, more out of self preservation than being ashamed. He got a new phone and started to always be on it all the time chatting with everyone but him it seems. The wolf-dog did try to console sometimes, with him out of school, away from the eyes of the other – especially the wolves.
At the start of this strange relationship, Chase was just glad to have an erstwhile ally and what can pass for a boyfriend in Hunter. But watching the wolf get more praise and attention and in effect getting the best of both worlds had worn on him in ways that being alone just couldn't. He'd gotten visibly apoplectic in recent times when he saw the stupid pup kiss a random bitch, it was quick but still. Then the wolf looked like he got caught red handed he had the gall to tell him to fuck off.
Then there were times things go close to physical. Him trapped after classes and Hunter would step in, ask to be with the human while the other wolves cackled leaving the pair to whatever counts as bullying. Then they'd pretend there was a scuffle or something, the canines left to their imaginations.
“I'm still mad at you. I thought I'd be okay with this but it's just so tiring." He gave a deep sigh.
“I-I'm sorry, not everyone's brave as you y'know." The wolf whined, ears depressed.
“I'm not brave, I'm just good at acting like it doesn't affect me." He muttered. Standing a little taller the human got to cleaning some of the racks. He had gotten this gig the moment he could legally get a job, which is only for a few hours due to labor laws, but that never stopped the precocious teen. “So you buying something or what? I'm busy."He grumbled, polishing one mirror clean- as clean as a gas station could be.
The over six foot wolf looked left, then right and scratched his head, alone in the empty store . “Uhmm..."
“It was a figure of speech."
“That's dumb. Why are you even working here, I'm surprised you could get a job this young."
“I'm just barely able to, legally. I used to mow the lawn in the neighborhood, shoveled snow in the winter. When you've got a deadbeat mom who lives off benefits and the generosity of her latest hookup..."
“What about your grandmother? Doesn't she live nearby as well?"
“She does, and she's taking care of Mabel. She can't feed two more mouths, her pension can't feed four people. It's enough work that she has to check in on me half the time."
“Oh.. “ The wolf seemed to realize the more personal aspect of their relationship. Chase had been pretty blasé about his home life, but the recent stressors really pushed him to the brink, the floodgate coming out. The wolf of course wasn't stranger to deadbeat parents, at least Chase's mom was around- his dad disappeared and his mom didn't even live in the same state half the time, leaving him to the reluctant hands of his uncle. The wolf shuddered.
“We can't all just act irresponsibly and get away with everything y'know, don't think I didn't see you and your friends drunk off you rockers at that party. Must be nice having a Sheriff for an uncle, even if he is an asshole." He mocked.
“I am responsible, I'm taking care of you aren't I?" The wolf defended himself. That somehow pissed the boy off further, and he gave up trying to contradict the wolf. He just grumbled something even the wolf couldn't hear and went back to whatever did to keep his hands occupied.
“I can't wait to be sixteen, maybe I'll get emancipated or just move to my grandma's and help take care of her. Tracy's been getting more unhinged lately." The boy casually mentioned his mother by her first name. Chase went back behind the counter and checked the backpack he left in the corner.
He hid a scratch on his arm as he took out a tin cookie box from his backpack and shook it. A smattering of coins, cash, and semi-precious trinkets could be heard lightly smacking the parts he didn't cushion with padding.
“Wus that?" The wolf pointed to the box with its colorful Christmas decorations, the rust gave it a sad look, like rubble in a fire.
“It's my go-bag. In case of emergency. Y'know, like if I feel like leaving this hellhole." He murmured.
“W-why? Why would you leave?" The black wolf whined, suddenly real fear in his voice. “Dude it's not that bad here, ride it out! It'll get better, just give it time. Like you said, move in with your grandma and-" He tried to reason.
“It's not just that, it's this town. The people in this town are already set-in, the die is cast. My relationship with them isn't going to magically change when I grow older. I don't want to stay here with the same faces giving me the same judgment. It's either pity, or disgust or they just don't want to deal with the 'drama' and ignore me." The human just unloaded on the big pup and felt slightly better. The wolf only deflated further.
“What about me?" He murmured.
“What about you? We're just close friends aren't we?" He accused. “Freshman year sucked ass, I don't think I can last three years, your 'protection' not withstanding."
“L-look I might not always be there, but I do try! And y'know, it's pack stuff. It's hard to explain but-"
The boy's head fell limp and was about to sink in seat when he felt big furry arms embracing him. He blushed at the warmth, his power musk from the weekend football practice and the teenager melted into the fur. The wolf gave up trying to placate the human and just plead to him.
“Please, don't leave me alone." Hunter whispered into his ear.
He had his own set of demons, not as visible or maybe as egregious but equally painful. The burden of acting like a proper alpha of the Riverton pack. It seemed highly likely Hunter would be chosen. His uncle would ensure it.
“The uh cameras are still running." He murmured through the fluff.
“F-fucking ignore it, no one checks it anyways. Besides Mr. Carson's system resets by the end of the week, cheap asshole."
“Why do you know that?" His mouth was talking into hair now.
“Uhm you don't want to know. J-just stay this way with me okay? For a bit." The wolf seemed so vulnerable for someone so big, it looked contradictory with his bad boy outfit.
Shit you're evil, you sure know how to manipulate me. The human groaned into the soft fur until he hit firm muscles. The wolf's musk was hitting him now. They didn't know how long it lasted but he could feel his impending erection tenting. Thankfuly before it could be any more visible the embrace ended.
“Don't leave, I'll try to be more assertive in getting the the others to back off. I think I'm actually taller than Max now, we've been the same height for too long. " He grinned and crossed his arms while his chest is thrusting out imperiously. “Let's hang out tomorrow, I heard there's a meteor shower or something. Don't you humans say its good luck?"
“Uh no it's a shooting star, and they grant wishes." The human tried to respond but the wolf continued to pose, straining but not really doing much to damage his jacket. It was still impressive nonetheless.
“I think I'm gonna be star quarterback next year. Trevor- that's our older quarterback is graduating and I don't think any other replacement can outrun or outthrow me." He flexed his pecs and it made a little bump, not totally defined enough yet. Chase only gulped at the display.
“Why do you keep getting bigger everytime I see you." He whipered hoarsely.
“What? I'm still a growing boy, and I like to workout. You should do it too, maybe put on some muscles so you're not a bean sprout. As for me, it keeps me busy and away from home. And I like being big and strong." He boasted, but then added. “Makes me feel like I'm in control."
If only you could act brave as well. He thought at the walking contradiction. He didn't mention the fact that all the gyms would be full of the types that'd torment him. When it cames to the physical stuff the wolf has it on lock, but anything to do with peer pressure and he folds like a lawn chair. Ironic for a potential leader. Though the declaration did give him some other kind of insight on the wolf.
“Is that why you like it rough? You can be quite… enthusiastic." He raised an eyebrow at the wolf.
“Huh, no. I'm not rough- am I?" He protested the accusation, he could never take being called out, and it seems some of it rang true if the wolf got like that. “And don't tell me you hated it, you were practically grinning when you went down on me."
Chase just shrugged, “Maybe I like being put in my place, when I want to be. You try anything on me I don't want and you'll wake up neutered." He growled, while pantomiming a snip-ship with his fingers.
“Yeah okay." The wolf gulped. “You were looking at them pretty wolfishly."
The odd couple had only recently tried oral, they took turns exploring each other's privates. Hunter's muzzle easily took in the human's member, all the while remarking the odd shape of the equipment and how different it was from his own. The teen did not last long before emptying into the wolf, he claimed it was by accident.
The wolf only countered by doing the same to the human. And unlike the wolf, Chase didn't have a muzzle. The thing was pretty big, it was already larger than the average human's penis and seems like it's not done growing. The human could only gawk at it, it looked so different from his own but it also had a strange appeal he couldn't place. Chase had remarked it might be the last time he could take the whole thing to the knot if it got any bigger. They had only gone at it briefly before the explosive aftermath gave both of them a fright. They pair stopped trying doing anything more messy after it took them over an hour to clean the backroom of all evidence. At least not on school grounds.
It must've been on both of their minds because Hunter eyed Chase and motioned his head towards the bathroom.
Good thing it's a slow day, Chase got to the window and turned the sign around to 'Be Back in 30 Minutes'.
They both eagerly sauntered to the backroom and immediately the wolf unzipped his pants.
“Fuck did you grow another inch? What the hell..." Chase muttered.
“I think so. Been a while since we did anything below the belt, heh." The wolf couldn't help but be proud of himself, the smug bastard. “Well are you just gonna stand around looking like a dummy or what?"
He did not.
Their bathroom tryst did not last long. Both teenagers had raging libidos and zero self control. The human hungrily tore at the bigger wolf's leather pants and fished out the red meat. Thankfully Chase had position the wolf so that his load went into the toilet if it got out of hand. They were panting heavily while making some ungodly noises with their bodies and shortly after the finale soon followed.
Panting heavily, with his mouth still half filled with the wolf's seed, the human looked tiredly up at the wolf, into his deep blue eyes and thought to himself.
Maybe I can stay for him.
Hunter didn't stay long after their excursion, the wolf gave the human a long kiss- passionate and sloppy, different than the way he did to the girls he dated. This felt less controlled, more honest. They said their brief goodbyes but not before the wolf offered him a gift, a pretty up to date phone.
“You really need to get one, I'm surprised that brick of yours even broke. Those things are indestructible. You still have a plan right?" He smiled genially.
The human just looked at the phone dumbly before taking it in his hands. He went red, somehow the gift was more intimate than what they did in the bathroom. “Y-yeah, we're on my grandma's plan. Like Tracy ever pays for that." He fished out the card from his old brick of a phone and put it in the new one, it had a nice feel to it.
“Oh here's the charger, it's pretty new and different so you might have a hard time getting it elsewhere." The wolf handed him an oddly shaped plug his paw engulfing his hand. “They always keep changing the damn plugs." The wolf groused with the experience of a techie.
“You really shouldn't have… but thanks." He held the paw softly. The teen tried to hold onto his pride but putting on airs when it's just the two of them felt fake.
“Heh, don't mention it, if you wanna pay me back just ignore me as I grab a free beer." The wolf grinned as he went to the fridge and snuck one out, from the camera blind spot. "And I mean it, I'll take you tomorrow to see the meteor whatever. I've got the best view ever too! Our pack has like a mountain that we go to for ceremonies and shit, no one goes there unless it's like during the full moon."
“Uh huh, sounds good." He murmured, lost in the touch. He could never get over the sensation of the wolf's touch- the difference between flesh and fur only compounded that feeling. The wolf dumbly just took his hand away, oblivious to the moment and walked to the magazine rack. He fished for something and gave a whoop, returning to the stand with a smattering of mags with differing interests. They ranged from sci-fi and fantasy, comic books, films, and finally a bodybuilding magazine.
The teen eyed that one in particular and noted the wolf had picked up one with a human on the front cover, odd considering furs were usually bigger when it came to that, well the big anthro species anyways. The ones like foxes, otters, or rabbits weren't so lucky.
He gave a wolf an eyebrow raise at that. “A human?"
Chased got another shrug in return. “I like the way humans look, something about the lack of fur makes you look delicious." He jibed playfully, and gave the teen a predatory grin.
“Oh? Am I your fetish?" He grinned, nudging at the wolf.
“Maybe, but no. It's just, when everyone in town's a canine you tend to go for what's different." He got a grin back. “Besides, I like the way you smell."
Ironic. For him it was just the opposite for him, a human who liked what was the most visible.
“Wait my what?"
“Your smell, I like it. It's very familiar but not. Kinda hard to explain." He shrugged. “Looks are only half the things canines look for, there's also the scent."
“You forgot the personality." He rebutted.
“We'll that's a given! You're very spirit for someone so little."
“I'm literally average height."
“When you're as tall me, everyone's short, and besides I've got my own secrets on what I like…"
“Such as… it's nothing too weird is it?"
“Not saying! It's very tame compared to the shit I've seen anyways- uh never mind. Don't wanna talk about it."
“Ohh someone into feet or something? Ropes? You want me to wear a dress?" The boy teased but secretly hoping the wolf wasn't into that, not that he would judge, too much.
“Ew gross, nothing like that. J-just shut up and ignore what I said."
They've always had highly active imaginations, then again two closeted and repressed boy living in backwaters tend to get a bit kinky. Like Christian school girls, but hornier.
“Heh my big hero, all dressed up in a diaper or a gimp suit." He teased again. The wolf just gagged at the image and told him off.
They made their goodbyes and the day went on lazily. It was near leaving time and the young man would go home soon. His job would be over in half an hour and he made preparations for the shift change. Two canines were in the corner, busy reading the magazines than actually paying for them- one of them looked like they were scanning the paper for specials codes to use by the way he positioned his phones.
“Alex what why are you doing this here? Don't your dad own a convenience store?" A collie asked.
“Dude I already scanned all those codes. And I think I'm gonna buy another pack of soda too, that rare is too good to pass up!" The chocolate Labrador wagged, his tongue sticking out in excitement.
“You can be such a deadbeat." Aster moaned. “Why not just get a job like someone more productive?" The collie gestured at the occupied Chase, who was intent on running out the clock. “See how productive you can be when you put your mind to the task."
“Whatever man, I'm almost done anyways. Hey we going by the statue again?" The lab lazily put the last magazine back onto the rack, then sniffed himself and grunted. “Oh damn, I smell bad."
“Yap. Everyone can tell from all that smell, you reek of pot. You should try this scent spray, it can block out almost anything." The collie seems hell bent on life coaching the chocolate fur-ball. Much like a collie shepherding a recalcitrant goat.
He took a spray from his backpack and shove it in the dogs face and blasts him point blank with it. The lab gagged at coughed. “You trying to kill my nose?" He touched his wet nose and actually moved animatedly for the first time all day. He shook off his friend and ran out the door, the collie shouting after him. “Wait up, I'm just trying to help!" While still spraying in his hand.
Ah the joy of friendship. Chase was grateful for the peace and quiet, examining everything was in top order before the manager would arrive. From the counter to the aisles he checked for anything out of the ordinary. This was his first job and he needed the money, and like anyone new working they had a youthful zeal to menial task that was not totally crushed yet.
The coffee machine still worked, he sipped the horrible concoction that it spewed forth and shuddered. At least he thought it was coffee, the teenager decided to empty it out and start a fresh batch. Then he checked up on the aisles to see if anything had fallen off from the two dog playing around. He didn't notice it at first, lost in his task it but it immediately caught him off guard when he heard the sound of a distinct siren.
He got used to hearing that tone many times before, one with a very brief delay between it's two tone blare and froze. Anyone else would probably ignore such a difference but when you've heard it dozens of times before you would had it etched in your mind. He swore that anthro did it on purpose just to torment him, like a clarion call for its dark herald. He had thought the car would buzz by but the siren only steadily grew louder and louder until it stopped.
There was only fur that used that used that siren and he gulped. Just wanted to melt into the freezer or hide in the store basement. It was dark out and the boy could be seen clear as day in the harsh incandescent light.
It didn't take long for him to hear the padded thumps of a large form lumbering through the front door. The wolf grunt as he had to bent his head down to pass through, and eyed the boy.
“Well if it isn't the mongrel." Chase could hear the grin in that tone and slowly turned around, and peered up. Those large boots fitted for canids, that huge gut which had apparently gotten bigger in the last year, the Sheriff logo plastered on those still strong chests, up those powerful shoulders and into cold steel eyes, they appear heavily shadowed as always.
“Why is it that I always find ways to meet you, you little fa-" The wolf somehow paused, and eyed around. He could see cameras everywhere and somehow that totally changed him demeanor.
“Y-you little fellow." The wolf corrected himself, though still had an edge of malice in his undertone. The sheriff must not come here often if he couldn't tell how shitty the cameras were, but this sudden shift in personality brought the boy from him frozen stupor.
He took his time to look at the wolf, trying to match those icy gray eyes for a brief moment before faltering- and got behind the counter. Now this was more like the Brock he remembered before the village, a very calculating wolf who enjoyed being an asshole when no one is watching. He grinned.
“W-what. Ahem." He cleared his throat. “What can I do for you today sir?"
“Cup of coffee black, and I want some lotto tickets." The wolf just said nonchalantly, he tried to insert some passive aggression into his tone and showed a little too much teeth.
“C-coffee's gonna take a while to make. It's a fresh batch."
“Hmph." The wolf just huffed, eying the human but not doing much else. Somehow he's not getting his fun. He decided to change tactics.
“Oh, sorry about your mom again. This is what twice this week we found her passed out over town? First time was at the Kennels wasn't it, then again at the Red Basement. She really does like chasing after wolves doesn't she?"
The wolf idly remarked as he scanned the display behind the counter, trying to seem empathetic.
“I-I" Chase attempted to get in a word edge-wise but the wolf rambled on.
“Pity about Tracy. She used to be such the model student, I remember seeing that young girl around town a lot, some of the boys... really liked her." He said that almost lewdly. “Shame what happened to her after your family accident. Then really she went off the deep end when she came back with you. Must be so hard on your grandmother. Pity really-Mrs. Hill used to be my favorite history teacher. Too bad mental health out here is so bad."
The wolf just laid it on. “We even tried to have her committed, but of course the county judge had to be a human. One look at her pretty doe eyes and he just sees a troubled mother." He just oozed fake concern.
“You have my sincerest sympathy, must be so sad to work at such a young age. Doing well in school? None of the other boys give you a hard time?" He almost looked contrite, and had on an exaggerated sympathetic look. The boy tried to control himself while he went to where the lottery tickets were.
“That one, the Daily Double, the Lucky Millions, and the Alpha Ball. Three of each but four for the last one, also a pack of Hound Dogs. I hope I don't have to repeat twice, can't be sure if you don't have any developmental problems, if I'm not being too insensitive." The rotund wolf asked with just a smidge of mockery.
Chase held it in together, he'd taken worse from his classmates but the fact that it was this particular asshole and he had to do what the wolf wanted galled at his ego. The boy can be prideful taking some solace in suffering quietly, it was part of what gave him strength. Like a lone wolf, with no need for a pack.
“N-no not at all sir. I know I can come across as somewhat impaired but it's not as bad as what you're going through." He gritted back.
“And what is it I am going through?" The sheriff's voice dropped dangerously low.
“Oh nothing, just that you're always stressed out. M-must be hard being Alpha and the Sheriff. Stress eating is very bad for your health sir." He tried to sound concerned.
“You've got some balls kids." The giant wolf growled in a low whisper inches from his face, the teenager handed him the tickets with trained nerves.
“Oh it's not so stressful!" The wolf said in a louder more cheery tone. “Got a lot of benefits to the job, you get to instruct the next generation of Riverton, help rid the town of crime, making the street safer … oh and helping those in need like you..." He dripped that last part with acid.
“I don't need any help sir, your time is better spent on those more likely to cause trouble. Some of those troubled youths that run away town drunk and trashing dumpsters. I think I recognize some of them from your pack. You need a lead a better example, being a law enforcer and all that."
“Haha, oh don't worry about them. You know how it is at that age, boys will be boys… then again you're not one are you?" He whispered that last part low. The wolf took out a coin and began scratching at the tickets, grunting when nothing fruitful showed. “Speaking of which, say I've been hearing rumors that you're into other boy. Is that true? Not that I have anything against them. Just that I don't want the other kids to bully you for something you can't control. You know how teenagers are like, they can be ruthless." He idly chatted while he finished another lotto ticket.
The barb shot his heart full of adrenaline and Chase tried to brushed it off. The wolf had no proof in any case.
“It's just rumors sir. Between my job and my mom and school I just don't have a lot of time to do anything else."
“Well I mean if it were true, it wouldn't really be a surprise. Can't be helped when all you've got is a deadbeat mother, an aging grandmother, and what's it your cousin was it? You need a male role model in your life. Heck if Tracy were my type I'd have a go at being your stepdad haha." He hollered and slapped his lap.
“Maybe that'll fit her fantasy just right. The moony and the alpha!" He cackles.
Chase just took the verbal barrage from the sheriff but could feel tears in the corner of his eye.
“Just kidding just kidding kid. You just make sure ole' Tracy isn't off chasing wolves alright? H-Lycan is dangerous to humans, you might think cus the effects don't last every long that you can splurge on them, but they make you see and hear things and if taken in enough doses will make you catatonic." He rambled on, as if rehearsing a lecture he'd given dozens of times and forgetting for a moment who he was talking to, then the wolf seemed to recollect something because his tone shifted again.
“But for canines, and wolves especially it gives them quite the buzz. It gives you a raging boner like no other…"
He howled with glee and that shook Chase from the suddenness. Momentarily stupefied at the noise he saw the wolf raising a lottery and that he had won $500 dollars. He frowned at the fat wolf's fortune, and went to the registry to cash in the wolf's winning who by this time had on a genuine smile. He almost looked handsome if it weren't from all the stress lines and unkempt fur, the fat almost didn't detract from his appeal. If anything it almost made the wolf approachable instead of imposing, was that something he took into consideration? He couldn't put it past the wolf, the alpha seems to care about his own image and the reputation of the pack above all else.
The wolf stopped when he got a phone call and look at who was, frowning, he took the call.
The boy seemed to recollect what the older Howle had said though; so that's why it's nicknamed Chasing the Wolf, he always thought it was because humans hallucinated wolves or something. He hoped the money would put the sheriff in a better mood and just fuck off.
The teenager was about to hand the cash, counting them twice before hand when he heard a disturbing snarl reverberating from the sheriff. The sound was like some eldritch beast in a deep basement, locked away in some forgotten corner of time and memory.
The kind that was so primal it sent the fear of God into him, the sound a cave man would hear when faced with an apex predator and he knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was dead. The boy realized how tall and frightening the alpha truly was.
“No you listen here you overgrown kit, you are not fucking finalizing nothing! You don't have the pack approval- I don't care if you're the fucking mayor-" The wolf seemed to remember where he was, glared at the boy who looked back down at the cash.
He decided to grab that cup of coffee while he's at it, his back feeling the burning glare of the wolf who quickly returned to the caller
“You listen here you sneaky little shit, I don't care what the state says- we don't owe the government jack shit. There is no bullshit property tax for pack lands. Its our fucking land and WE'RE NOT SELLING. We're gonna fight this in court I swear-" He growled, more angrier than Chase had ever seen, eyes cold and nearly feral, his mouth salivating and tasting blood. Even angrier than when the wolf was that night in the village, not even close.
At that moment the boy knew he was just a passing toy and was only there at the whim of the wolf who could end him at any time he wishes, if he cared enough to and tormenting had stopped being fun.
Chase gingerly handed the things over and paced back as the wolf grabbed his winnings and nearly broke the coffee cup, all but ignoring the frightened teen as he lumbered away, ranting into the phone, driving off into the distance. He stood there for several moments before the manager take back in a huff.
"Sorry I'm late, traffic was killer... hey you okay?" Mr. Carson, the beaver inquired. Chase just nodded.
The boy didn't sleep very well that night.
* * *
Chase grimaced, he never did get that date to see the meteor shower, something apparently came up with Hunter and his uncle. Pack drama and all that. He kicked a can down some half paved streets, repeating the move until he found a trash can and dump it in. That wolf was always a little irresponsible. Not much in his part of the neighborhood had changed, and the man was grateful his house was close to the edge. Don't want to meet anyone who could recognize him, he wondered if Kyle still lived with his parents but doubted it. The wolf-dog always said he wanted to move when he got the chance to, and had followed in the boy's footstep by working. The resourceful little bastard.
It felt like an eternity but Chase finally came up to his old home. He was a little surprised but his body came on autopilot and just started at that same old one story building with the mesh grill door, that slightly uneven porch with the potted plants and one wooden block used to level out a chair. What he didn't expect to see were all the decorations, it had been spruced up if that were possible in a building this drab.
The aura did feel whimsical and the wood had been lacquered, a healthy dark coat that oozed comfort. He stood briefly there at the door but decided against it. He had walked for over a good hour and then some and took a breather. The man paced himself so he wouldn't tire or sweat, deciding to rest twice during his trip. He didn't want to risk hiring a familiar cab driver, using a ride-share app in a town this small might as well be asking to get outed. He also had his phone closed, doubtful he'd get reliable internet in this area anyways. The walk had been therapeutic and he tried to find the familiar in the old.
Chase was about to just enter when he realized he didn't have a key and awkwardly knocked the door. He wasn't sure if anyone had heard him so just to be safe he knocked again a bit louder. While waiting, the man tried to tidy himself up a bit before realizing he still had on his hoodie. He attempted to pull it above his head when the door suddenly swung wide open.
“I told you I don't-" An annoyed female woman nearly shouted before it stopped.
Chase dropped his hoodie back down before looking to the person in front of him. Yep that's Mabel alright, the same gangly cousin he knew since they were kids. She was younger by him, but not by much. The girl was now a young woman and she had the look of a librarian or a secretary and had an air of quiet command. Thick glasses, and curly hair that had thankfully tamed through the year since he last saw her and while she wore black fit for the funeral, her clothes were definitely on the old school side- she even had a shawl, like a spinster in training. The young lady was always a bit on the odd side and he didn't doubt for one moment it hadn't gotten worse since then.
“Chase?" She asked tentatively, almost surprised to see a ghost – but that disappeared quickly. “I'm surprised you actually showed up. And in a hoodie no less, what grandma didn't deserve a suit?" She just grumbled.
“Hi Mabel, I uh good to see you too. And I have my suit, I just need to put it on." He wave the bag like a deflated balloon at her.
“Hmm you definitely grew since the last time I saw you, filled out a little too. Why are you dressed like you own a van? Lose the glasses, and you've got a bit of a 5'o clock shadow, might want to shave that. You're different than I'd imagined." The young woman was blasting off on all cylinders and was talking why busy dressing herself.
“You could've called me.." He protested weakly but knew, he only contacted her twice in the past decade they've been apart. Once when his mother supposedly died, and now for his grandmother's passing. He was too proud to complain and was also embarrassed about what he went through to survive. And then only recently started reconnecting, even sent her a few gifts which she always returned. The young woman padded around to a mirror, tidying up herself.
“You're just in time too, I had to get back here for the letters but it's already happening, people are already at the graveyard." She fished out what must've been the eulogy. “You missed the wake by the way, we had it at grandma's. This is technically my home now." She huffed.
“W-wait I thought it was at twelve, we're still early."
“Oh yeah that was a typo, didn't bother correcting it since I wasn't sure you would be coming." Mabel shot him a withering look.
“Why would you think that?" He sounded a little hurt.
“Well you didn't come for your mom's funeral either." She huffed. “Quite a few people came for that one, I think some were expecting you to be there."
Chase just sneered and rolled his eyes. “I'm not coming back for her. And. She's. Not. Dead." He enunciated every word, after he got the news he had to check, searched the local obituary online.
“The woman went missing in a landslide and hasn't been found since Chase. She's been declared dead in absentia, you can't get any more dead than that."
“Believe me, Tracy has more lives than a cat. She's probably somewhere tropical with another lover sipping mai tais or is so high on H-Lycan she's forgotten her own name, probably in a trailer park again." He reasoned, though a part of him still suspected the worse. Even if she was a crazy deadbeat and horrible woman, she was still his mother.
“Chase…" She sighed. “Want some kombucha tea or do you prefer chamomile? You're getting awfully stressed, and your energies are out of balance." She did some odd gestures at him like swatting away invisible fairies.
“I - I'm fine thanks, and look at you!" He took a step back to examine the young woman and tried to find something complimenting to say. “You're still the same old you!"
“Why wouldn't I be?"
“Uh, guess so…?"
“In any case you should get dressed, and I think all that walking wrinkled your suit." His cousin pointed at his bag.
“Shit uh, I might've held onto it too tight." He mumbled.
“There's a lint roller and the iron in the usual place. Grandma Meredith deserves your best after all. I need to hurry back, I have to give my speech soon. You know where the place is-"
“Mabel, we live like 10 minutes from the graveyard, I think I'm good." He grumbled, he always saw the god awful place on his way to and from school, and sometimes though about when his mother would end up there. Now that she is, the grave is empty.
“Just making sure you didn't lose your mind. I hear actors are all brain dead and have to rely on their looks."
“T-that's not true, and uh you didn't tell any did you?" He sounded nervous.
“Ugh don't worry, I know about your little hang up. Not that I blame you with how things ended. I think one of some of the guests might still recognize you though, you might wanna hang out in the back row. They're all old people who frequent the community center."
“W-wha, but do they..." That made him freeze in place. He'd remember what Alex said about the people who gathered there to watch Legion.
“Oh don't worry about them, I doubt any of them can recognize you from TV- the boys don't watch it with the elders. You should be thanking me for not introducing grandma to that show, she'd have a heart attack." Mabel just mouth matter-of-factly.
Chase shuddered at the thought.
“And you? Are you alright? I know its tough losing grandma, you were always closer to her than I was." He murmured guiltily.
He thought about her and how the elderly woman kept trying to rein in her daughter, making so much personal sacrifices to keep her out of jail and out of danger, but old age caught up to her many years ago and she could only do so much. Instead she put her attention on raising Mabel and trying to get custody of Chase who Tracy refused to let go of, her fanaticism wouldn't let her. The legal battle would strain them both and they didn't have much to begin with so the compromise was that she would check in on him and sometimes have him over.
“I'll be fine, I'm not even gonna process it until after the funeral, busy busy." She continued on, keeping herself occupied, Mabel had on very odd and arcane looking earrings. Like something a witch would wear.
“How did she uhm..."
“In her sleep, don't worry about it…" The woman hunched a little at that, probably reliving the memory.
“Last thing she said was auntie's name." She said quietly, but then collected herself and went out the door past him.
“Can't be late for my own eulogy. Get there as soon as you can, we have a lot of catching up to do."
“Right." He pulled up his hoodie and left it on the sofa, he might've been sweated on it.
He wanted to hurry but the old one story building brought back memories, the living room changed quite a bit, the same old furniture were arranged a bit differently – to better direct the positive flow or whatever. One of the wall was repainted, the punctured holes filled in and looking whole once more. There were also several odd assortments that fit Mabel's aesthetics, ornate decorations, fancy gemstone and rocks and occult paraphernalia.
He shook himself and went to the bathroom to freshen up. In the mirror he saw himself brimming with nerves and wide brown eyes staring back.
He took a deep breath, then touched his budding beard, it was slowly growing in and he was already going to shave it. With a groan the actor fished through the cabinet for a disposable razor and was glad to find a pack of them. He didn't take long, using just warm water to prep his face for the shave. The blade however did not got as planned and he nicked himself, a pool of blood forming around his throat.
“Shit-" He growled. Chase wiped the spot with tissue and carefully finished up, then went to the cabinet again and fished out a band-aid.
Over the next several minutes he combed his hair and dressed in his proper suit after ironing it. He looked at himself and thought it fit his frame perfectly.
He didn't take much longer though, already there for maybe 15 minutes and walked back out when suddenly he heard the sound of something that set his heart to sink.
The sound of a police siren.
He stood rigid and paused – trying very hard to hear it to be sure.
He tried desperately making sure it wasn't what he fear but there it was. The two tone blare with just the briefest delay shot through his heart like a needle and the man dropped instantly to the floor.
It was getting closer and closer.
He held his breath.
Chase feared the car would stop in front of his house but – thankfully it just keep on running pass him the sound dying down the main road in the direction he came from.
He remained there for a solid minute, hand on his heart before finally collecting himself.
Calm down, he's gone.
He stood back up, wrung the door open and ran in the direction of the graveyard before his nerve was shot again.
He didn't recollect when it happened but before he knew it, Chase was there. A small procession of mourners, old men, women of all species. And sitting in the somber island was Mabel giving her speech.
The place was very old, as old the town itself, it stood closer to the village than it did the river and was where the original settlers laid their dead to rest. It was heavily wooded, and hilly. Wild flowers that are the signature scent of Riverton dotted the place. Nature thrived here, serene and somber. The sun had been obscured all day but now the clouds are beginning to darken.
Chase carefully made his way to the grave and just in time for Mabel to look up from her speech and glare at him. He weakly waved, and stood to the back of the small gathering.
“… Meredith was more than just her labels, she was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a teacher, historian, yes but she was also someone who loved to volunteer, to quilt, watch bad TV..."
He scanned the small gathering, trying to piece together any familiar faces but couldn't make anyone out. Somehow he was upset that Kyle wasn't here, but then again with the fallout it wasn't a complete surprise.
“She has a bright aura, and she took pride in her children and her grandchildren even when they falter or dim before their times..."
The speech went on for several minutes before Mabel took to her seat again. The priest, a familiar old boxer was there giving one of his sermons. Chase was never the religious type, he would never go to church if he could help it but his grandmother often went and sometimes he would follow her to church.
On those rare occasions he would get to see the boxer drone on and on, the boy would fall asleep in the pews. He'd be jolted awake by his grandmother when it was over, who just gave him an understanding nod and shooed him off. She never judged him for it, maybe she blamed his mother for his lack of piety but the iron lady never held a bitter bone in her body. He would often see her after the service to talk to the old hound, and speak with worry about his mother. Praying to somehow cure her of her delusions, to somehow fix what cannot be mended. Sometimes when she thinks he'd left she would break down into tears and ask if she did something wrong to deserve this, and what she would give to fix it. Those were the hardest to watch.
Memories flooded into him and he watched with silent tears as they lowered the real mother figure in his life down to the cold hard earth.
At the end of the service Mabel sidled up beside him.
“Hey."
“Hey."
“Got worried about you there, took a bit longer than I thought. Guess you saw your favorite wolf on your way here huh?" His cousin asked, maybe with a hint of sarcasm – she did have a bad sense of humor.
“Yeah, can we drop it? I don't ever want to talk about him if I can help it."
“Are you-"
“Not one word." He grumbled, he did not want to think about that fat bastard at the moment.
“That's for the best, c'mon I'll say my goodbyes then we'll go home."
They lingered until the rest of the mourners left, leaving Mabel with their condolences and eying Chase with some apprehension as if he's some stranger courting their friend's granddaughter on her funeral. He almost frowned at the implication, thankfully they bade her goodbye and left. The priest had said a few words of condolences and also left.
The walk home was silent but not uncomfortable, they were both lost in memory and the events were too recent to fully process.
When they got back to their home Chase thought about getting rid of his suit but Mabel cut him off before he could.
“Oh just leave it on, no one's gonna recognize you. Besides your hoodie smells like crap, leave it. Leaavveee it. I'll clean it up for you tomorrow. And you look quite dashing in a suit, feel like taking over a small town or joining a cult of snake people?" She tugged at his suit. “Are you sure this is funeral wear?"
“It's just a well fitted black suit, we can't all have funeral shawls like you on short notice. You look like you're ready for a reading." He grumbled, half joking.
“Maybe I am, I do talk to the spirits often." She replied, not even joking. “Would you like your fortune told?" She offered, one hand outreached dramatically.
“Uhmm… I'll pass, thanks though." Chase just lightly nudged the hand away.
They settled into their seats, Chase chose one and look around the familiar but unfamiliar home again. Outside it seems like there was light rain drizzling.
“Just so weird that she's gone now, the Hills grow smaller and smaller. Especially since you're not gonna be popping any out." She giggled. “I'll be the lone Hill, well Hemming-Hill." Almost forgetting to add her father's surname as well.
“Aw c'mon now you'll find Mr. Right." He reassured. “Just gotta uhm get out there..."
“Maybe, but not anytime soon." His cousin answer. “I think I still need to go over grandma's stuff. You'll be there for the reading of the will right? You miss your mother's."
“Not dead, and I couldn't care less what she has to give me. Her drug collection? Or maybe some genetic disorder I'll get in my 30's." Although it was said mockingly, Chase always feared that he would somehow inherit his mother's mental disorder. No one else in the family have it, but his grandfather was an alcoholic so who know.
“You know you need to give your mother more slack, she's good problems yes-"
“She's certifiable." He shot back.
“Not always, you didn't know her before the accident..." Mabel slumped.
“I – I sorry but you don't either." He reasoned lamely.
“Not but grandma always told me things, about her. How she lost one sister and crippled my mom in that car crash." She tried to brush past the old memories. “Drove her into a spiral, ran off that day and took off to god knows where. Heard that she was a roadie for a while, was almost doing better and met some cool folks, left grandma all sorts of mail. Then she disappeared for almost an entire year and came back with you, ragged clothings in the middle of the town plaza screaming like mad. She claims that you were-"
“Oh god you don't believe her spiel do you?" He almost recoiled, his cousin was always a believer of those sorts of things but he didn't actually think she belived to his mother.
“No- not completely. Maybe what she said was true but not the interpretation-"
“No she's fucking insane!"
“Chase I know but-"
“But nothing! She fucking thinks I'm some sort of savior or some shit. And that-"
“Yes yes, Chase we know. She thinks your father is a WOLF!" She shouted. Outside the rain poured and lightning crashed down.
Chase just fumbled back at that, and nearly lost it but recovered at the last moment.
“S-She's nuts, she was in some crazy wolf cult. Had an orgy and slept with dozens of men while high as a kite-"
“CHASE! That's your mother, show some respect!" Mabel hissed, giving him a death glare.
He was of course not gonna bend and just returned the stare but finally gave up, sitting back down in defiance.
“After that happened, grandma and my mom took care of her for a bit. Grandma said my mom got married to some doctor, who didn't judge her disability, I was born soon after." She tried to put feeling into it, but had no emotional reference to them. "She was still out of it but it almost got better. She was raped and abused Chase, your mother is a victim!"
“She's not the only one." He groused, trying to look elsewhere and settling upon the calendar, almost the last day of May, a full moon tomorrow.
“Yes we all were and you the most." She consoled, outside the flash rain slowed down a bit, they were both silent for a moment. Trying to absorb the moment and let it cool.
Finally Mabel continued, this time more gentle and quiet.
“I think she might've recovered, grandma said she was starting to talk sense again. It was over a year since you both were found at the plaza, when it happened." Mabel paused, trying to find the right feeling. "Then... then my parents, they were mauled to death deep in the park, never found out who did it. Some of the people claimed it was an anthro that did it, the others said it was feral wolves or bears. Don't know what really happened, they were supposed to be helping auntie recover. Get her plenty of fresh air, to see some nature again. Brought her there convalesce... they died near the border to the private lands, by the river." Mabel continued on as if afraid the event would weigh on her and make her stop. "Auntie said that she was there when it happened, saw the whole thing."
They stood there for a moment and quietly absorbed what was being said, Chase had heard some of it but hearing it all put together before him only made it more jarring.
“Know what she said? She said a huge wolfman did it, more feral than an anthro, ten feet tall and had sharp claws like a cat's, red eyes, and fur black as midnight and that it turned into a man." She shuddered.
“Werewolf." He muttered. "Of course no one believed her, says she probably just got her details mixed up - the people who found the scene was a pair of human and wolf. They even questioned the pack but they had no pure black wolf, at least not until..." He trailed off and just stayed silent. Hunter would still be an infant at that time.
“Yeah…" She paused at that. “Guess I was lucky I was a baby. Never knew them." She shrugged trying to act almost nonchalant about it. Chase thought that was why his cousin was always into supernatural things, the town steeped in history, tribal occultism, and mysticism - and she clung to it like a lifeboat. The same way he fantasized about escaping it.
“That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Something snapped in her, and she almost returned to lucidity- like she had gone so far off the deep end that she came out the other side changed. She started ranting about progeny and history and all that, about how important you were."
The man kept silent, quietly absorbing the information, some of which he already knew.
"Y'know Grandpa was also like that, grandma said he was disappointed in having three daughters. No one to pass the Hill name onto, says our family was one of the original settlers of Riverton alongside the wolves. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. He's not important. But it might explain her interest in geneology after she found his books and things. He used to hit them ya know. Disciplined them for not being proper ladies. He also tried to force himself on grandma, to get a boy. It's a good thing grandma Meredith kicked him to the curb. Heard he drank himself to death in a pub a few years later." She remarked, like some distant observer to some grim family drama.
She looked at his arms and gave him a look. "Sorry for what you went through, about what she did."
“She wasn't always this bad." Chase eventually picked up on the topic if only to shut her up. “She used to treat me like royalty, it's what she did to others that got them to hate me. Then around high school she got worse..." He got silent, delving into the past best left hidden.
* * *
The door slammed open, and Chase entered his room all alone. He huffed and fell into the sheets, Hunter had almost gotten them caught again! The stupid wolf had gotten a bit careless and nearly kissed him out in public, as if he needed another reason to be bullied. Not to mention the other Howle would kill them both. He kept wondering why he never brought up that night in the village to the black wolf, or even the dozens of other times they've interacted, when the large wolf thought no on else was looking. Those cold steel eyes locked on his, taunting-
He heard the front open and could immediately hear a female laughter. Great, it's Tracy, with another mook.
“Come on come in, I won't bite much."
“Heh, you really are as freaky as they said." A voice barked, another gullible wolf eager for some action. Nope, not happening this time- at least not while he was around. Chase sprang up from his bed and ran to the front.
“Tracy you are not bringing a random stranger home to bang." He growled.
“Aw my little wolf, behave yourself. This could be your father-" She reasoned, half lucid this time.
“No he's not, humans can't procreate with wolves. Stop deluding yourself, and you - unless you feel like banging my mom in front of me I suggest you fuck off." The teen gave the wolf a nasty frown and the canine just ran off, apparently the family was more crazy than he could handle. He dropped something on the floor and Chase just stared at it. It was that stupid drug, he simmered at that. After he realized what the drug actually did- several things in his memory re-contextualized, and he instantly wanted to forget them.
He turned to re-focus his gaze on his mother and she returned it crazed, something in her head must've flipped. The normally short and skinny woman with red hair and hazel eyes shot him an evil look. She might've looked pretty if it weren't for the bloodshot eyes and disheveled clothing.
The woman went up to him and before the teenager could realize what was happened his face burned.
“Don't do that again." She hissed. “It's hard enough to do my job finding your dad, stop chasing them away!" She said that last part, paused and cackled.
Those bouts of insanity always unnerved him, he would never know which Tracy he was speak to then. The teenage cupped his cheek and just held it too stunned to do anything else. She used to treat him with kid gloves, bringing him around town and showing him off the wolves and asking if they're his father. At first it was cute to humor the insane lady but then she got a little more aggressive. Shouting out prophecies and hounding at the wolves at all hours of the day. Half the wolves in town had gotten a visit from her knocking at their doors, asking if they're his father. That did not earn him many friends with his peers. The dogs looked at him with amusement while the lupines just gave him death glare, probably being woken up way too early or their dad was the latest victim.
Sometimes while high on H-Lycan she would walk around the plaza where she was found and just murmur in a whisper, unintelligible to all- as if she were having a conversation with someone imperceptible.
Other times she would be more covert about it, finding wolves in their establishments and offering them a good time. They'd heard the rumors about her, and being wolves weren't afraid to try their hands at crazy. They would wake up with fur clippings missing or maybe a claw filed down. She had tried to get multiple DNA tests done when she could afford it, all them coming back negative of course. But that never deterred her.
Then of course were the most often times that she holler about the end of the world, that the wolf would swallow the sun and moon and the end times were coming. Tracy would shout it from the roof tops and said it to anyone who cared. People would just look at her with pity and sometimes throw money at her feet. She would also repeat stupid prophecies over and over again as if somehow repeating the words like a mantra would make them come true.
Chase cupped his face, bleary eyed and got out of her reach. Small she might be, but she had that strength that insane people had – one where their limiter had been removed and they would just easily damage themselves as they do others.
“Why aren't you changing!?" She screamed at him. “It should've happened around puberty, that's what the old myths used to say!" She sounded angry and disappointed with him. She fished something out of her pocket and lunged at him. Chase tried to fend himself but he had already gotten used to the treatment at this point. His mother took out several piece of bones shaped like claw fragments, something she had taken from the wolves she dated. They were almost always drugged out of their minds when she did. They would get angry at her but sometimes their pride overlooked minor infraction, price to pay for fucking crazy and eager. She took one of them and scratch him with it, then repeated the process for the others. He just let her do it, eager to get it over with and not wanting to incite her wrath again.
Then after waiting a few minutes, she would just get disappointed and started muttering to herself.
“No, no, not these either. I should try the Whitepaws next, or the Adens, or maybe..." she rambles on. Plotting how to get nail clippings by rummaging in their trash again. The woman truly is shameless.
The teenager checked his arm for the scratch and was grateful it was shallow, it usually healed soon enough.
Crazy bitch. He thought at her, almost wishing his thoughts could be heard. At least she's finished for now. Tracy started to recite that one of those stupid prophecies again while he slowly stood up, careful not to get her attention again. The woman got to one wall and got to carving on it, making some stabbing motions - as if to excise some paranoia made physical. She spoke the words, rote and devoid of inflection:
When the night falls, o'er the leaves and seeds strewn.
'Twas midst the hill that the wolves shall dance.
When the faithful hound returns and 'clips the moon.
Our king of wolves shall once more advance.
Between river and forest did claws and fangs howled,
When the hunter's moon peak and the mountain falls,
He who chases the sun return in dusk cowled.
So reigns forth the beast and once more the wolf calls.
* * *
They stopped at remembering that stupid prophecy, the one his mother tried to make sense of, not even realizing it was a translation of a translation. Chase just sighed as Mabel had recited it.
“Stop it." He grumbled. “She said it so many times I can still recall it in my sleep."
“You know, she had several theories on them. Told me a few when I was over." His cousin just spoke.
“Heard them all, don't need to hear it again."
“Aw don't you want to know? The first line probably means a night at the end of spring."
“Uh huh, so?"
“She also thinks the faithful hound that returns is the constellation Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, bright enough that it sometimes eclipses the moon-"
“Stop." He says it with finality and Mabel got the hint.
“Fine, we can talk about something else." The pair once again feel into silence. Chase looked out the window and saw it stopped raining a while ago. He decide to check his phone and realized it was off. He let out a breath.
“Do you have a charger?" He waved his phone to her face.
“No, uh not for that." She eyed it with a confused looked. “Why do you have such an old phone, even I got a new one. Looks like a discontinued model too. Aren't you like rich or something?"
Just his luck, he decided he would go to the electronic store but wasn't in a hurry. Stupid tech companies always coming out with new phone jacks or power connectors. He wondered if he should get a new phone.
“No, I'm just starting out. Give me a break. Just because I have one breakout role… doesn't mean I'll keep getting them." He pocketed the phone and glanced to his cousin.
“You sure you're okay?"
“I am, and you're right. We should get over the past. Let's talk about you!"
“Oh god, what's there to say?"
“How is your job going? Is playing straight hard? Did you have to imagin- uh never mind. So much to talk about since you left. It was all so sudden ya know."
“Don't worry about me, I had my ups and downs but I left with grandma's blessing. She was sad, distraught really but knew I couldn't stand staying here for much longer. Gave me some cash but I refused but that lady was relentless. I also took some money I squirreled away, enough to reach the coast. Did some things I'm not proud of… then there was that time..." He recalled his past decade, but left a huge gap in his retelling.
Mabel recounted her side of things. Said most of the drama died down after Chase left. She didn't really interact with the wolf side to begin with and it was shortly two or three years later that the landslide with his mother happened. She mentioned the familiar faces at the “funeral" with most of the wolves waiting for some prophetic arrival to occur and laughing their ass off they lumbered off. Meredith just grieved even harder, having failed all three daughters and it broke her deeply. Yet the iron lady held on for several more years, holding on to make sure Mabel was taken care of and hoping to see her only grandson again. She never did.
Eventually the pair broke down and cried into each other's arms until they were both dry, empty as the rain had been.
When Chase finally recollected himself, the time had flew past. It was almost 1:30 and his stomach rumbled. The sun was blazing brightly, trying it's hardest to dry off the late morning shower. Inside the home he dried his own raindrops and was about to leave when Mabel held his arm, finally no longer crying and dried off.
“Let's go to the lawyer's office. Mr. Jasper will be reading the will."
“I don't need anything, you can have it all."
She boxed him in the head.
“Don't be daft, just because you're a high and mighty actor now don't mean you can spurn your dead grandma's will you ass. Christ, already so full of yourself. Besides, I think there's still some stuff auntie left over."
“I'm not, I just thought you might need it more-" He whined.
“I'll have you now I'm running a very successful online jewelry story. I'm comfortable for the moment, Mr. I have One Film Credit to my Name."
“It was three! I was an extra in Halogen Moon! Plus I did a few infomercials before that. Having a human endorse fur products really sells ya know."
“I'll bet, mister.. what's your fake name again?"
“It's Casey Meadow."
“Well that's lame."
“Well I thought it sounded close to my name, Hill and Meadows yeah?" He tried weakly, it really did sound lame.
“Do you even show up in the credits?"
“I do! I get billing next season! Otherwise you'd have to wait til the ending screen to see me. I think I got opening credits in the last episode."
“Does that matter?"
“It totally does." He grins. “I get paid more!"
“I thought you died in the show."
“Uh, you watch the show? You never watch TV" He frowned, and blushed at the thought of her watching him in some scenes. This is ten times more awkward than when your family member walks into the room just as the show turns sexual.
“No not really, I watch a few episodes. Too much violence to for me. Never saw you." She waved.
“Oh.. thank god." He breathed a sigh of relief, he didn't even show up til last season.
“I did watch clips of you bang a chick though." She said it so casually he did a double take.
He choked while she walked off, getting into a different change of clothes. Trying to divert her attention away from the topic of conversation to something less scarring he ask her from across the room.
“Uhm do you have anything to wear? I don't think I want to stay like this." He mumble-talked.
“Nope, after you left. Your mom, she went a bit crazy."
“I'll bet." Chase muttered.
“Gathered all your clothes into a pyre and set them on fire, trashed your room real good. I had it converted to a room. You should be glad I cleaned your room before hand."
“What?"
“A certain toy was there. Ahem."
“Oh.. fuck."
“Yeah it's long gone now. Well if you want to wear dresses or look like me you're free to rummage, or do you prefer grandma's pantaloon? You might as well keep what you're wearing, I don't know why you're so upset about it."
“Ugh fine." Muttering as he did untidy himself a bit, got rid of the tie, ruffled his shirt and unbuttoned the top button. Touched the band-aid and decided to keep it a little longer.
Mabel came back out with what could only be described as witch casual, a black dress with a more comfortable cut and once again more occult accents, hooped earrings, hair pinned to the back, fancy rings, a necklace and oddly enough crocs.
“Let's go, we're gonna be late." She left.
“Huh? Where-"
“To the lawyer's, Mr. Jasper's office."
“That one? He's still alive?"
“Almost eighty and still practicing. Afraid he might croak if he doesn't have anything to do. He was disappointed his grandma went into art."
“Think he'll recognize me?" He absently went to the window and huddle as he saw familiar faces.
“I don't think he realized you left, he doesn't even watch TV. Oh get up, it couldn't tell it was you until I saw you today, there's like no photos of you online except when you're playing that stupid character."
“I'll take your word on it." He huffed. “Also it's not stupid, I think I look great with silver blonde hair!"
“You look like you came from a family circle instead of a tree."
The duo went out and with Mabel's help avoid anyone, their house being on a corner and on the edge of their residential area. She chatted with the neighbors across the street, the Hatwells, a pair of raccoons who gave her their sympathies while the neurotic actor padded around the corner. His suspicious movements were more conspicuous than if he just walked normal.
Both walked for 15 minutes, idly doing small talk.
“So… you got a boyfriend?" Mabel's question harpooned the closeted actor, and he visibly shook.
“N-no, my last date was a husky."
“Uhuh and when was that?"
“Ehm… w-why?"
“Ohh just wondering."
“It's not that long ago."
“Really?"
“… yes."
“So… not seeking to reignite old flames? Hmm?"
“Wha? Huh? No!"
“Alright alright, I won't pry."
Chase and Hunter were always good at hiding their relationship from others, despite the close calls. But somehow he got the feeling Mabel knew, maybe the stupid dog told her or maybe she found out in the years he was gone. He wondered if he should go see the big wolf, he really did grow a lot since they last left… he wondered if other places grew as well and remembered that massive bulge framed by those tighty whities. The man hid his reddening face.
Calm down horndog.
He should go see him… right? Maybe tonight… or tomorrow. Or uhm next time he comes down to visit Mabel. Next time! Maybe the wolf turned straight after all, he was always good at faking interest in the ladies – he did not want to insert himself in any drama the wolf has going on. He still wanted to see him, the man huffed internally at that. First boyfriends are always hard to forget.
“C'mon you'll love where we're going." They went to the usual market square Chase gaped. It wasn't as big as the main street or the town plaza but it had a small revival of its own. He actually saw a few tourists, by their phones and general touristy look. The one that screams I'm not from around here. The streets here was also improved, the same way the street was but it almost seem cleaner here.
“When did this change?"
“Oh it was done a few months back. This is actually closer to the park, well the side entrance of the park. The one that got donated, ya heard about that?"
“Huh? Oh yeah, I vaguely remember it. Wolf drama right?"
“Oh yeah, it was very explosive. The alpha and the elders eventually reached a compromise with the local government." She blabbed, but soon enough they came upon a relatively tall but thin old building. The sign was very worn and it looked generic, the first floor had a spa, the second a dance studio and the third was Mr. Jasper's office.
They went in and proceeded up the stairs, Chase was surprised the old pooch could keep walking up and down these stairs. They came to door and knocked. There was a creaking inside and they could hear a very slow exhale and a pause. Then very slow footsteps approaching closer.
They stopped at the door, and slowly the locks were open.
“Hello, hello. Ah Mabel and oh uh..."
“It's Chase." Mabel just said.
The man thankfully held his composure, the short Schnauzer with the fuzzy beard and heavy furred brows just nodded.
“Oh yes, hello there young man. Been a while since I last saw you, got bigger too. How's school?"
“I uhm I'm not in school."
“Oh my bad. You have a girlfriend yet?"
He just gave his cousin an exasperated look. She gave him a look that says how the hell should I know.
“No… not yet."
“That's too bad I can set you up with this human girl from other side of town, her mother is a good friend of mine, helped her with some legal matters I'm not at privilege to discuss."
“No… thanks."
“Well come on in come on in!" The dog wave them into his messy office, like something from some noir detective office, less hard-boiled and more bookish. There are stacks of papers that litter the small office, it looked almost cozy.
“Shame about Meredith, knew her since we were kids! I'm sorry I couldn't go to the wedding."
“It's alright, you had other businesses to take care of."
“Oh yes, some d- oh I can't say." He shuffled some papers, looking around and scratched his head. Then as if he had some revelation he went to the back and rifled through some stacks, the entire dog obscured.
“Where is… it… ahah! Oh almost forgot these too." It took a few minutes but the pooch back out with a thin manila folder.
He took a minute to settle back into his swivel chair, the two humans stood on the other side of a huge desk, on one side is an old computer with a thick monitor. When he got his preparations completed the Schnauzer began the legalese, dictating this being the last will and testament of Meredith Hill.
The will to Meredith's house and along with her other assets, the majority of it going to Mabel. Chase got a smaller sum but one addendum surprised him.
“To my grandson Chase Hill, I bequeath to him the land his grandfather wanted an heir to have, may it bring him closer to home."
It details a small plot of land with an old cabin near the wolf's private lands, if there were any still left.
“Huh… why give me that?" He wondered aloud.
“I didn't even realize we owned land in the forest." Mabel chimed in. “Guess there was some proof to what grandpa said. You're going to accept it."
“But-"
“No if and or buts, you're taking it and thank her."
“I... thanks." He muttered, hoping the cabin is run down or probably being squatted on.
“Oh, here." The old dog gave him something else, a small envelope looking like it holds letters and bulged unevenly on one side.
“What's this?"
“It's your mother's will, I'm honestly disappointed you should've came in sooner to get this but I can't give this to Mabel. Was almost gonna throw it out, but it sat for so long I forgot!" Chiding the human and shaking his fuzzy head.
“I don't want it."
“Oh just take it. It's a letter, not a bomb. Just think on it, you don't have to open it right now."
“Fine, but I'm just gonna throw it away later." He took it and shoved it into his breast pocket. Will it be some kind of apology? Or more mad ramblings? He didn't much care either way.
“Open it, it's bad juju not to." Mabel almost whispered.
“If you want it so bad you open it." He reached to grab it but his cousin just hissed at him.
“It's not meant for me, you're gonna curse me!"
“You're ridiculous."
“Pot, kettle."
“Are we done here? I'm getting hungry." He decided it was going nowhere and got up.
The Schnauzer looked at the two children babbling like a married couple and sighed.
“No no, nothing else. You're free to go. Just get back here tomorrow to have the deeds transferred and all the documents finalized." He waved them off genially, sipped his coffee and winced.
“Come on, I know this new place that all the cool kids go to. It's very hip." Mabel managed to that line and meant it.
Waving off the old dog, they quickly climbed down the stairs, into the noon day.
Walking around for ten minutes they came to a restaurant. The front entrance had the Grand Opening signs still on display. They went in and sure enough only people around his age or younger were there. The food was also overprice, for this town anyways. He frowned, they almost cost as much as the local place down the corner from his apartment.
“You're treating me."
“I am not, you just got a new house!"
“Is complaining all you're good for? You really think I can pay to maintain two houses? Nope, and grandma didn't care what I do with it. I've already brought most of the things over. Her place costs too much when it's just one person."
He suspected other reasons too, Mabel was always more receptive to his mother than the others though took it in a more academic and less insane way. It wouldn't surprise him if she kept his mother's things, maybe her mad scribbles too.
They got down for lunch, paying for expensive “gourmet" burgers, with fries and onion rings and much to his chagrin overpriced soda. They ended the meal with an ice cream each. He decided he would not be as generous to the waiter, who was talking around chatting on his phone and having to repeat several times to get the teen's attention. No, standard tip will be all.
While they were eating Chase caught sight of some familiar kids running across the street, four boys- two wolves, a mix, and a bobcat, looking like they got away with murder. He overheard them say something just as they rounded the corner.
“Haha I can't believe we got away!"
“Dude did you see his? He just froze! Danny you were crazy!"
“Hurry up Kevin, we're gonna leave you behind!"
“Wait up guys! Oh god, when he finds us..."
“No way dude, not with ..."
Their words faded away as the cousins finished their meal. He grinned, they must've gotten away with something. Seeing them again made him feel nostalgic, he was also starting to feel braver. No one had recognized him, especially not the younger people who were never exposed to his drama. His mind also started to drift a bit, memories of Hunter plaguing his mind and making him have indecent thoughts. No nope, that ones taken - but...
“Should we head home?" He asked, also hoping otherwise.
“Mmm, no not yet you might wanna head home first."
“Why's that?"
“Oh I've already got a buyer for grandma's house lined up." She said was a smile a bit too wide.
“Just a buyer?"
“None of your business."
“Oh so you can pry in my affairs but I can't?"
“You're not a girl."
“Some would say otherwise." He muttered.
She just stabbed him in the chest with a finger.
“Lay off the victim-hood it gets tiring." She trucked on. "I on the other hand am gonna go on a friendly meeting. You know where the key is right?"
“I do, although..." He thought a bit and finally decided.
“I'm gonna explore the town a bit." Looking up at the clock and it seems to be around 3:30.
“Not afraid anymore are you?"
“I still am, but I'm not gonna be anywhere too familiar."He thought of the seedier part of town and imaginations ran wild.
She raised an eyebrow.
“Oh really?"
“Yep, see you tonight or whatever!" He jumped out his seat, and stretched to limber up.
“See you later."
“Buh bye."
The two parted ways, both of them with grins on their faces.
The human walked back in the opposite direction of his home and towards the direction of the graveyard. He was admittedly horny and was ashamed of where he was going on the day of his grandmother's funeral. But the memory of Hunter was pervasive and all consuming. During the trek to his destination he walked to entire length of the graveyard. Thankfully he didn't have to see the site again, and he was peeking at them from the other side of the gate. He was almost grateful for that.
Chase imagined one of those tombstones was his mother's and wondered if she found peace in death, that is if she was dead. He couldn't help but replay old memories, the nights when she'd gone missing or the times the woman went deathly still, eyes glazed over in a drugged stupor.
He shook his head, now was not the time to think about those sort of things. He wanted to think of happier thoughts and dammit he will. It however did not last long. At the end of the graveyards was that same path he took every day to and from school. It can't be avoided and he strode across familiar roads, across nostalgic streets.
After what felt like another 20 or 30 minutes he finally came upon it, his old high school. The hell hole and the of his life and his heart lurched. He couldn't help it, it dug at him, strong memories began to invade his mind again. He thought freshman year was bad, but it only got wore.
* * *
Chase groaned, his backside was aching again. He just rumbled in pain and rubbed his butt. The teenager had just had his ass pounded. He was sweating profusely and panting heavily, above him was a slightly less tired and still rock hard Hunter. The wolf nibbled his neck and he tiredly shoved his hand into the wolf's face, who just whined at his face being palmed. The damn wolf had another growth spurt since summer. He looked out at the falling leaves and moaned as he felt the heat of the male above him. He turned to look at his phone while pondering how things ended up here.
It turns out Hunter had went to his uncle and asked him to restart some old alpha rituals, and over the break he had been training quite heavily. It allowed him to escape his uncle for longer stretches of time and also gave him opportunity to occasionally visit Chase, well that was until mid summer when school was out and and he started to disappear. Ever since he promised to help get the others off his back he'd been to the wolf reserves. They actually had lodges or cottages there that the pack used for recreation. It was also right after his mother started scratching him with random lupine trimmings, he just was grateful canids have blunt claws.
The wolf had been hush hush about what the ritual actually entailed but it was more akin to a competition or battle, whatever it was the wolf came back from summer break with cuts, bruises, and bandages. He also packed on several pounds. The wolf had shot up to nearly 6 and half feet and was easily over 250 lbs in weight, almost all of it just muscles. It didn't hurt that he also became star quarterback, the human was starting to get jealous again but tried not to show it, he never cared for the attention, at least that was what he said to himself. He was still shadowed by his uncle who was at least a foot taller and almost weighed two Hunters, half of which was muscles and the other half his burgeoning obesity.
Another positive that had happened during the last few months was his respite from the alpha. Apparently some court issues forced the wolf to be away most of the time, having to delegate his duties to other deputies. It had also exacerbated his eating. All the wolf really did was harass the human whenever he was at his job, getting him to pick items at the top row of shelves or making him refuel his car, he'd also get complicated orders and just decide he didn't want certain items. Some of which were heavy and awkwardly stocked. He sure he did not spill anything on the car, one scenario he refused to entertain. Honestly the fat lupine had other things to worry about, and he'd almost grown bored of bullying the human – anything he did was more out of habit than active malice. One time he came in and almost forgot the human worked there, just carried on like nothing happened.
All in all, it had been a good summer.
The two were still sweating buckets, the wolf was panting through his mouth and his matted fur was sticking in clumps to the human. Chase tried to push the wolf off of him but was too tired to try.
The first time he'd met Hunter again he was just flabbergasted by the changes and the injury, the wolf just brushed it off and boasted about all the training he went through and how he was bigger than his uncle at this age. That pleased the wolf the most.
Chase was pretty much stuck at his height and was starting to get overshadowed by the other furs. He tried not to be envious but when the majority of your school is non-humans that can be difficult to avoid. Still he was better off than some of the smaller species, what few there were.
He shared his growing pains with other humans, the one connecting thread he had when interacting with the few people he knew. Unfortunate that their interactions didn't go beyond classmates, they just didn't want to deal with drama – he tried to get the attention of that human who made it to the football team but the teenager was too popular to notice him. Some of the girls found him somewhat not-displeasing to the eyes, whatever that meant. Still, they thought him unapproachable and seemed oblivious to even cursory conversation.
The wolf had also boasted about his secret ritual and how the other wolves, even the ones that weren't actual candidates or wanted to be alpha had joined in. They all had something to prove and their pride wouldn't dictate otherwise. Kyle couldn't join in and would often be seen chatting with different groups of wolves and dogs, usually as a third wheel but they must've warmed up to him a little because they didn't outright ignore him. He had also started talking a lot on his phone, sometimes streaming or recording himself. Their interactions at this point was almost nonexistent, muttering hi's to each other or nodding to each other. He tried not to let it bother him but he knew he was being replaced, and it hurt. At least they were still on amiable terms, he hoped. The wolf-dog did develop a habit of trying too hard. The mutt would go out of his way to be funny or haze other kids in an attempt to develop rapport, he really wanted to fit in and the human just despised it. He could empathize, but he hated it.
Chase still occupied his thoughts about escaping this town one day – his mom took some of the cash he had on hand away from him. Saying it was for rent before going out to get plastered again. He found a nice hiding spot that he overheard some of the other kids use and hid his go bag, the tin cookie box, near the statue. Whenever he went there he'd think about how close to the edge of town it was and stared at that motel. He would get there, imagine when he would just leave – but then he'd think of Hunter and his thoughts died down.
The big dumb sexy wolf had been all he could think about, his one escape from the misery of day to day life as him. He also couldn't stop fantasizing about that wolf's cock and how it had grown a little again, almost as if trying to match the wolf inch for inch. He'd fantasize about what kind of competitions the wolves were having and why they were abandoned. Obviously it was because it was dangerous and pandering to alpha male stereotypes but he tried his hardest to ignore that.
Instead he just thought about Hunter wrestling another wolf, maybe Max or Greg down to the ground and pin them to the grassy floor. They'd both be incredibly hard and their erections sparring with each other through their jockstraps or maybe loin cloths. All the while they are sweating and grunting, their powerful bodies rubbing against each other. Hunter would win, he always did in his fantasy and the big wolf got his opponent to submit. Then as a display of dominance he'd strip of his loincloth and plunge that fat cock deep into his beaten opponent, growling and not caring what the bully was feeling. He'd fuck that wolf like the bitch he was - the wolf would be moaning and shaking, half in pain and pleasure. When the big wolf finally had his fill with his defeated opponent, he'd shift into a doggy position and have relentless deep thrusts into his bitch. They would keep going at it until Hunter shoves his knot deep into his victim and growl dominantly while emptying his large nuts into a tight and battered hole. That usually made Chase hard as a rock.
What did get him off was that the same day Hunter came back was also the day he lost his anal virginity. The wolf was sweaty, heavy with musk, his wounds only added to his rugged appeal and the added inches only accentuated his sexiness. He'd come into Chase's job after football practice, made sure his uncle was away on court matters, and just got up to the human in a sexy confident manner. He also did it while in his bully persona, which worked on him but not on other. Maybe it was because he was fucking the stupid wolf and they've basically been role-playing in front of everyone. Because the wolf had made it a habit to having alone times to “pummel" the human, it wasn't at all unusual to smell Hunter on the human. The wolf just locked the station door, dropped the blinds. Chase had asked him what he was doing but the wolf just gave him a cocky and predatory look, slowly walking up to him. When they were inches apart Chase would gape at how tall the wolf had gotten, smell that heady musk and got instantly hard. The wolf had then dragged him, picked him up really, and went into the bathroom stall. He didn't say anything, only snarls and growls, cupped this tenting erection and rubbed it along Chase's backside. It was not a request, but also kinda was. The pup had become dangerously cocky over the summer and it was such a turn on.
Chase just stared at it, both frightened but very eager. The wolf didn't do anything, half teasing but also looking for permission, however subtle. The human started it at, gave the slightest nod and immediately his clothes were yanked off his head and his body pressed up against the bathroom stall. He'd come to realize the wolf had a thing for domination and while the human did not like being bullied or abuse, he'd come to acknowledge a part of him just wanted to not be in control. Giving permission to be dominated was different somehow, like he was choosing to let it happen as opposed to having the choice be made for him. He rationalized away his paradoxical brain, too horny to care and was naked before he knew it. The wolf still had on all his clothes, probably too horny to bother.
They kissed, or whatever passed for kiss. The wolf was doing most of the tonguing, his large flat appendage was so long it filled the human's mouth. When he felt that rising erection against his back he shivered with anticipated. Hunter had given him a toy to use over the summer and had asked him to practice with it before they'd try anything too serious. It wasn't as big as the wolf's but it was still plenty big for a human.
The wolf had licked his fingers and put one deep into the human, fingering him in a twisting motion slowly – testing if that tight hole would be able to handle him. The human moaned and groaned while it was happening caught in exciting and new alien sensations. When the wolf managed it down to the knuckle, he pulled out and repeated with two fingers, then three. All the while Chase gripped the wolf's cock, hand already having a hard time wrapping about it completely. The cock dripped precum like a faucet and he could tell the wolf's balls were also noticeably bigger. He quivered at the thought of how much bigger Hunter's load had gotten.
As if reading his mind Hunter pulled himself away from the human and hungrily eyed his prey. The human awkwardly try to get into a more accessible pose, his needy look doing most of the work. Hunter didn't need more coaxing and slowly plunged his cock into his boyfriend. Chase let out a low moan but was cut off when the wolf cupped his mouth shut and pressed his chest into the human. He still went in slowly, not wanting to hurt the human. When the wolf reached as far as he could Chase was visibly panting and sweating from the exertion, the paw left his face but now entire weight of the wolf was sandwiching him between the stall wall.
Hunter then proceeded to piston in and out of his boyfriend - not his bitch and was relentless. He was still new to sex though and awkwardly tried to maintain his pace and domineering growl but his voice cracked and it broke the moment. He stopped only after several seconds and was panting heavily, as if he was already going to blow his load. Chase gave him a cheeky look and that spurn the wolf to continue his thrusting. It felt like an eternity to the pair but it must've only been minutes. The wolf's pace was already getting frantic and instead of growls he made needy whines and yips, trying hard not to break character and failing.
Chase was still overwhelmed at the sensation, feeling that fat cock spearing his hole at the tip then stretching it wide. He had gotten a lot of use out of the toy and could even work it at a fast pace, but the feeling of something hot and fleshy as opposed to lukewarm just hits different. He also blushed at the noises their fucking was making, was very sloppy and sounded like squishing water balloons.
Hunter at this point was a mess, his pace so irregular it wasn't as fun for the human, his did feel his prostate get prodded but the uneven motion just made it more teasing than pleasuring. That was when he felt it, the wolf had gotten to pushing his knot into his entrance. The wolf was too randy and was no longer thinking straight. Chase panicked, he could not stay tied for so long and began to just push and poke at the horny wolf. The wolf just keep whining and licked him, almost begging to be let inside but the human finally showed some dominance of his own and glared at his boyfriend. He didn't know if the wolf got the hint but he didn't have to, the big pup couldn't keep it in much longer and just came inside the human, letting out the most pitiful moan as he unloaded into his human for almost a minute straight, all the while his tail wagging like it was having a seizure.
During the duration Hunter just keep whimpering, his cock too sensitive and quivered at any movement Chase made. The human unfortunately did not get off, oh well he'd just have to do it himself and jerk off to this moment later. He let out a long breath when the lumbering lupine finally stopped ejaculating and slowly pushed him off him. The wolf was still caught in his bliss, his mind and body trying to sync from that explosive experience – his huge cock had receded into his sheath.
When Hunter finally started thinking again he noticed that Chase was still rock hard, got down and took the human's cock into his mouth. Chase had grown a little as well, but humans just weren't as big as he was. A huge maw enveloped that cock, expertly taking in every inch and making a U shape with his wide flat tongue. Chase didn't last long either, the human tried to be as dominating as the wolf had been and tried to dictate the pace. He even got his hand on the wolf's head to try and grip it, but Hunter was just so much bigger and stronger he though the human was petting him. Also the idea of thrusting into a jaw full of fangs when the wolf was dictating the pace might not be a good idea.
Hunter eagerly swallowed his load, but instead of swallowing he came up with another idea. He had not been satisfied at how submissive he appeared near the end and stood up, towering over Chase. Then proceed to shove his muzzle full of the human's cum into the unsuspecting mouth. The human was not used to his own taste and gagged, but the wolf's tongue just wrestled his flat, spreading out the semen all over the human's taste bud.
When that was finally over the two just laid there, to bask in the afterglow. When that was over the couple quickly got to doing their usual routine, spraying air freshener, washing out and cleaning the stalls. Chase did have to empty himself, semen oozing out of his rectum for several minutes before he was finally sure he couldn't anymore. When that was done the two briefly cuddled, Hunter appearing like a big dope with his shit eating grin and promised to human more to come. Remembering that moment had kept Chase occupied for several jerk off sessions.
Chase was still eying his phone when Hunter came back to his senses. He pulled out of Chase and they cleaned up as usual, this time he was able to get off. They had yet to experience the knot were afraid to get caught while in such a compromising position. Their sexual encounters, while intense, were always brief. Neither had the guts to extend their sessions 20 minutes, half an hour at the most. It was always during the window of time when students were going home but the adults were still at work, and Chase's regular customers wouldn't come in yet. They'd got up and started cleaning like usual. During this quiet the wolf brought up something out of the blue.
“You know, I could totally adopt you."
“Huh…?"
“Yeah it's a custom wolf packs sometimes do, adopt another wolf into their pack – binds them like they were blood. We've had several occasions that it happened." He smiled. “We also take care of each other's kids, when a pup is born into a pack we all take time to watch them, even if they're not blood related as long as they're pack they're family."
“Yeah but I'm not a wolf."
“Yeah yeah, but I've looked it up! Several dogs and one non-canine managed to get adopted in our pack's history. I could totally bring you up for recommendation."
“You'd have to be alpha, and I doubt your uncle would agree." He frowned.
“Well the thing is the alpha doesn't decide that, its the elders."
“Huh? They're uhm influential members of the pack, sometimes a former alpha or their spouse. Sometimes they're donors or athletes, you know, potential alphas."
“And they're just gonna let a human join a pack, what would your uncle think?"
“But-"
“It's a nice gesture but uh that's just gonna put a target on my back." The big lug was deflating a bit. He wanted to do something nice, probably wanted to include the teenager in the group through 'legitimate' means but that's obviously not going to work. He had gotten way too full of himself recently. He thought about it and decided to do something nice for someone else.
“Say, can you do it for someone else instead?"
“Huh?" The asked confused.
“Get Kyle adopted, can you do that?"
“Uhmm really?I mean that might be easier but-"
“Do it, it'll mean a lot to him. Just don't tell him before you can actually manage it though. The last thing he needs is to have his hope crushed."
“Why?" The wolf grumbled, ears flat. “He's such a brown-nose, doesn't even call me by my name. Just kept calling me Howle or Alpha or bro."
“He's trying to fit in, and you guys are making it harder on him. We might not see each other much but he's still my oldest friend. You know he was the first canine I explored." Chase winked.
“W-what did you do?"
“Nothing too dirty, I wasn't familiar with canines before Kyle. He was the same with humans. We were kids, and started to touch and prod at each other. I really like his fur. He said I felt too smooth, like a skinned animal." He chuckled, old memories flooding him of the good times. He secretly hoped that doing this favor would ingratiate himself with his old friend again.
“Oh fine, I heard if someone wins the competition the Elders would grant them a boon. It's just ceremonial and I don't think they actually expect anyone to ask for anything, but..." He grinned. “I'll do it, for you."
They kissed and embraced each other in the cold badly lit bathroom of a gas station.
It was now mid October when it happened. Chase and Hunter had gotten too comfortable, the wolf hadn't won the competition and still wouldn't say what it was. He and most of the other wolves were still covered in bandages but considerably less. The wolf had grinned at the human as if he had a dirty thought, he made a subtle nod to Chase before walking to his next class.
Chase walked to his math class, walking side by side with two vaguely familiar dogs.
“Yo, is Aster on your ass again?" A chocolate lab muttered, tail lazily swaying to and fro.
“That mlem collie's got a stuck up his ass, he's such a mommy mlem." A pit-bull was talking with muzzle full of chip. He was still on the chubby size but it was surprising how he maintained that fat but strong physique without ever deviating from that weight range.
“Yeah yeah, but he might have a point. I didn't do any club activities last year and now I might have to do extra to make them up."
“Mlm you mlem should mlm totally come with me. We volunteer at the kitchen during our lunch period, I could hook you up – you can even give me your spares if you're not hungry!"
“Really? They give you leftovers?" The pothead lab drooled.
“Yeah and you don't need to pay for lunch, just need help to stock shelves, move some crates and all that. They don't really ask you to handle the food, but they sometimes need an assistant to mix stuff. Most of the time we just sit around and eat lunch with them."
“Aw I'll think about it, can't do it this semester but maybe next semester or maybe junior year. You know Coach was asking me to hook him up earlier.."
The human shuffled past the pair and in finally entered his class. It was boring but also very easy, he had it easy with academics. All those time trying to avoid everyone helped, the library was his sanctuary and he must've read all the sci-fi and fantasy books in the place. He noticed Kyle from across the room and wave at him gingerly, the wolf-dog returned the wave with a friendly if brief smile and got back to his phone. The class didn't amount to much and the rest of the school day past by uneventful til gym.
With the new school year there was also a new set of schedules, and he got the same gym period and Hunter. This proved to be a boon and a curse, the big wolf always took the opportunity to “bully" the human in the lockers but at the same time he was always half naked or wearing some revealing shorts. Today though the wolf saw the human and got into his routine.
“Hello little one." The wolf teased.
“Go away." Chase just muttered. The wolf just dragged him into the corner locker at the end of the stalls again. No one else bothered the alpha in his corner, obscured by rows of unused lockers. Instantly the wolf nibbled at him and Chase nearly had to shove him off.
They'd make a point of not only not using the knot but also to avoid making mating bites. The wolf just couldn't help give him light bites on his shoulder. Sometimes the human felt like he was babying sitting a teething pup. Honestly it feels like all the denial was teasing the wolf; he had grown bigger everywhere that counts and must've been doing well in the competitions because his ego was through the roof.
“Not now" Chase hissed, and almost swatted the wolf but thought better of it.
“Come on no one's watching. Isn't it a little thrilling?" The wolf rubbed his massive bulge against the human's half nude form, only his jockstrap separating them and wagging his tail excitedly. Wolves really do have big egos, and his uncle's absence had given Hunter an unhealthy amount of confidence.
“Shit it's fucking hot but no means no." He brushed off the wolf, with heavy reluctance and got into his gym clothes. The wolf deflated, his tail drooped and huffed. He slammed the lockers like a petulant child, like an alpha being denied his bitch but also partially to complete their little ruse. He growled predatorily at the human as Chase left first, a dangerous glint in his eyes and he rubbed his aching balls. Tugging at his jockstrap several times too much.
Chase came into the indoor gymnasium and saw Greg there. The shorter wolf was without his companion who had a different period, while not able to match the height of Hunter or Max he wider than both – as if compensating for his lack of height among his peers. He like all the other male wolves around had some bandages on. Chase just shook his head, the lupine was easily taller than any human. Greg was flexing to some female canines, his powerful pecs bouncing. He recognized a few like Evelynn, Mia who were dogs and some familiar wolfesses. He glared at Scarlet, Ava, and Sarah who all had dated Hunter and stomped away from them.
Hunter was always a playboy to the girls, he was so good at it Chase couldn't tell if he was faking or the wolf was actually bisexual, but he never managed to get past second base with any of them and just as easily dumped them after a brief fling. Ironically it only made him all the more attractive the girls, his blasé attitude, aloof nonchalance and confident demeanor gave off a mysterious appeal and Chase could help but silent brag about who the wolf was secretly banging. The rest of the class wasn't that interesting, Hunter had come out and as usual no one was bothering him when teachers were around. Volleyball was the activity of the day and the class was split into four groups, for two opposing nets.
He managed to team up with Hunter and Greg. The duo were working together like a perfect pair, in complete sync setting and spiking the balls like they were in a flow state. The other team was no slouch either, they had several big anthros including a kangaroo and that horse who made it to the football team. Unlike them however their team was mostly girls besides the three and one raccoon freshman. Whenever the ball fell on their side Greg would always glare at Chase instead of anyone else.
One time while he got too close the wolf “accidentally" shoved him, and with the size difference he just fell instead. Hunter took noticed immediately and slapped his back, as if to say get your head in the game and eased the situation away escalating while positioning himself between the two. He was getting too good at this. During their next spike he managed an “accidental" trip on the smaller wolf who somehow only laughed it off, as if it was banter between bros. Chase had gotten used to this over the year, he often wondered by Hunter still hung out with those two and would ask but Hunter just replied it's complicated. They were pack brothers, but also individuals outside the pack – their relationship irrespective of others did not detract from their obligations to each other. It didn't help that they would tattle on him to their uncle if he did anything to upset the hierarchy of the pack. Hunter was still technically younger than Max and Greg and that meant something to them, alpha or not. It makes some family relationship dynamics look tame by comparison. Hunter also added that the wolf's not a bad guy just flawed, which made the human gag at the remark. Their relationships are so much different from human's.
It took a while but after all that running around had tired him the class ended and they went back to the lockers, the boys to theirs and the girls to theirs. The score forgotten he went back to his locker sore and was one of the last ones to enter. He didn't take long and fumbled around his locker, then immediately froze. A sweat wolf was naked in front of him in all his naked glory. Like a deer caught in the headlights he stared around the corner and could make out several other guys already leaving, but not completely gone.
“Dude you trying to get us caught?" He hissed, glaring daggers at the cocksure wolf.
“Relax, I could just say I was hazing you." Hunter just stuck out his tongue and slowly, languidly took his time to reach his locker. He fished out some briefs and put them on, he was still holding onto his crumpled up clothes when he lunged at Chase, and tongued him passionately. They were so excited and the idea of getting caught was doing something to him, he almost gave into the desire, melting into the larger male's embrace when Hunter pulled away. Chase was panting heavily now and looked disappointed not else happened.
The wolf just grinned and said. “Now you know how I feel." Better getting all dressed up. “Don't worry I left a little surprise for you."
Chase looked confused but before he could ask what the bell was ringing. Shit he was going to be late! He shoved his gym clothes into his backpack and ran out the hallway and panting heavily made it into his final class of the day. He ran into chemistry class late and the teacher made him drop off his things with the other kids before he could wear his lab equipment. The class proved to be rather exciting when they made elephant toothpaste – mixing hydrogen peroxide with potassium iodide to make a huge column of foam. By the end of class he'd forgotten what Hunter had said.
When the bell rang for the final time that day Chase bolted, he had to get to his part time job and he had overstayed to help cleanup for being late. He whizzed past several students before stopping to where he stowed his bike. He paused when he noticed a familiar posse round the corner. There stood Hunter with Max, Greg, several others including Kyle who was making an attempt at getting a laugh from the crowd.
“Why'd Coach cancel lessons again?" Max asked.
“Dunno, I heard he got served bad food or something." Greg responded.
They group shuffled and noticed Chase.
“Beat it freak." One of the canines said.
“Yeah get lost shorty." Hunter growled, eyes lingering just a tad too long.
The group was just about to pass, shoving past him when Kyle decided now was as good a time as any to impress the crowd and somehow the alpha's prodding was all the encouragement he needed.
“Sorry Chase, wolf business. You wouldn't understand." He meant it only half seriously but somehow the human just took it the wrong way.
“Eat it mutt." He muttered, he knew the word rankled Kyle but he was getting tired of his shit.
“What was that asshole?" The wolf-dog's hackle instantly rose up, overcompensating like he always does.
“Nothing, not worth my time."
“Yeah I'll bet, fucking loser."
“You're one to talk, you're so desperate for friends I bet everyone can smell the stink on you."
“At least I've got friends."
“No you don't, you're just riding their coat tails lapping up whatever crumbs you can like a lost little pup." He was exasperated at Kyle and just felt like unloading, pent up feelings he never knew rising up within him. All the while the gang of wolves stood back, like voyeurs to a car crash. Somehow this spurred on Kyle, like he was going to capitalize on this tragedy since it was the first time they noticed him.
“Fuck you pinko, all I do is take care of your ass while you cry about stupid shit. You actually think you're noble or something playing the victim but you're just fucking sad." Kyle always knew vulnerabilities others didn't and he urge to fit in and fighting with his former friend. In some ways he and Chase were so alike two canines who cared way too much about what others think but one grew up within the pack and the other grew up outside it.
Kyle closed the gap between the two of them and just making cruel observations. “How long you gonna keep wearing the same clothes?" He tugged at the human's shirt. “Anyone know you're wearing socks your grandma stitched? It's not even done properly." He pointed them out and the pack just laughed out loud at him.
“F-fuck you mutt, all you cry about is how you'd suck dick to be in the pack. You-" He tried to shoot back but Kyle was rambled over him.
“And this stupid backpack." He tugged at it. “My mom gave it to you in elementary school cus she pitied you. How the fuck are you still using it?" And tugged at it again. The packs laughter only increased. Hunter just stared dumbly, half glaring at Kyle and the other staring worriedly at Chase.
“If you don't wanna be friends then I want my stuff back!" He gave one hard tug and the contents of the backpack spilled all over the ground. Kyle was on a roll and he kept hammering away, this was his chance to be with the cool kids!
“You'd think having a job would've helped you buy new things but oh these things are all from junior high." He kicked away the gym clothes and gaped at what he saw. “What the hell is this?" He pulled up a jockstrap- Hunter's jockstrap. Everyone went deathly silent. They all recognized the same brand that everyone in the football team uses and it was fitted with a slit in the back for a tail.
“What the hell is this?" The wolf-dog took it and somehow decided to sniff it. None of the other canines even seem to care, as if smelling something was as normal an activity as any other. “Why do you have Hunter's jockstrap?"
The silence was palpable, it hung in the air and everyone just looked with confused expressions. Chase gaped at it and stared at Hunter, who was a quivering mess at this point. He looked like he was on the verge of crying.
“Give me that." Max growled, skeptical of the wolf-dog's inferior sense of smell and just casually smelled it too. “Shit this really is Hunters, yo man did you lose this?" The wolf was just frozen in place, hyperventilating. The teenager could never tell if it was his reputation he cared about or if he was worried what his uncle would do to him but didn't care. Chase just quivered and thought once again how he had to save this stupid wolf. He took a deep breath, time unfreezing and wondered how things came to this.
His reputation was in the shitter after this, what's one more hit. Fuck, is Kyle right? Does he really have a victim complex? No, this wasn't being a victim, even if they didn't suspect anything on Hunter's part the wolf was acting more and more erratic.
“I-I… I gave-" Hunter whispered it.
Once more in the fray.
“G-give it back. He threw it away so I'm taking it." He said it in the most stupidest way possible and was the wolves just looked at him dumbstruck, like some idiot actively admitting to a crime. He just grabbed the thing from Max's hand who stood there shocked. Kyle at least looked sympathetic, almost regretful at what he had done to Chase, but the teenager's brazen attitude and open perverseness made him start again.
“You sick fuck, shit the rumors were true. You really are a faggot aren't you? Yo were you getting off at being bullied? He's been hazing you all this time and you were getting your rocks off weren't you? Shit like mother like son, always chasing wolves." The group cackled at him, some of the girls just looked in utter contempt and disgust.
“You're such a weirdo dude."
“Haha think he'll like your underwear Greg?"
“Dude Hunter you've got yourself a fan!"
The crowd jeered at him as he slowly picked up his things, mechanically and by some instinct of self preservation to not let them get to him. It was over 30 minutes before he could form a cogent thought.
Well I guess it was fun while it lasted. Chase muttered in his mind. He thought to Kyle and wondered if the wolf-dog thought the ends justified the means. He had his in with the pack, and wondered if it was worth it.
The bike to work went by in a daze and he started crying at the store counter much to the manager's confusion. He forgot what happened the next couple of days, too shocked to process anything. His life was ruined at this point and he couldn't care less. Running away was starting to feel better and better.
* * *
Chase wallowed in his broken past, dragging his feet as he left his school hours behind. He'd remember crying himself to sleep and his mother telling him to shut up. Hunter retreated into himself again and made less frequent visits, his uncle had heard what happened and made his life even worse. The other students who were lukewarm to him completely abandoned him, and the wolves did their best to tease him
One night when Chase was ending his shift the wolf had cornered him out of the sight of cameras and gave him a shot to the kidney. Telling him he to stay the fuck away from Hunter or he would skin the human alive, the huge towering wolf's cold steel eyes almost murderous.
Kyle had been adopted into the pack, he'd been made an honorary member. Hunter couldn't very well renege on his own gift and the wolf-dog never knew Chase asked for it. The human limped across the street, idly noticing how dirty it was getting. He came upon the doors of a seedy bar and read the sign. The Kennels. He needed to escape from those terrible memories and he thought to himself.
I really need to get drunk.
The bar wasn't anything too spectacular, it was quite large but was about the only remarkable thing about it. The wooden flooring had stain spots scattered about, and when the light hits it at an angle you could tell it wasn't alcohol, it was too thick. There were pool tables, dart boards on the opposite side of the room. The layout included many booths and corners, those areas had the dimmest light – an easy invitation to couples or people looking for a one night stand.
True to its name the place was mostly populated by dogs, and of the more “aggressive" breeds. He looked around the place and almost everyone is a dog breed or another. They were also overwhelmingly male, not surprising considering how seedy the dive bar looked. He did see one wolf with gold hair and a portly looking boar with a rainbow spiked mohawk but other than that it was all dogs.
He was reminded of the Red Basement for a moment, flirting with the idea to go there instead but reconsidered, it was nicknamed the Den for a reason, it was almost all wolves and he shuddered at how many guys his mother must've picked up from the place. She was always after the lupines, but on occasion she'd slum it with a dog. Those she never brought home, instead she'd be several lines or pills deep in her favorite drugs. So much for her mission of finding his real dad, he scoffed.
He noticed in the far back corner within the darkest recesses, one of the overhead lights was either off or purposely unlit, and saw in that island of shadow a warm glow emanating from the stairs to descended to the basement. He decidedly did not want to go there, no the first floor was enough to satisfy his curiosity and his thirst to drown himself. There was also a back exit to the place, the one way kind.
Overhead was a digital clock that read 5:30 and the man groaned, did he really walk around two hours to find this place? He never came to this part of town but the path was pretty straightforward, he thought he'd gotten lost twice but knew immediately where he was when he saw a familiar street name and just traveled along it to find the complimenting avenue, the address stamped into the man's mind from all the times his mom was brought home from here. Having a town in a grid shape has its benefits.
The man approached the bar counter and saw the bartender in a plain button shirt with an apron over his lean but tall frame. He has the appearance of an older doberman with that world weary look all bartenders must have on their resume to qualify for the position. He also looked too athletic for his role, like the dog had to become the bouncer of several occasions.
Chase was nervous as hell, he'd in the “bad" part of town and that was an understatement. It was on the edge of town, furthest west, also furthest away from the river and closest to the old village. It had been the runoff settlement that all the die hard wolves originally stayed in after they experienced several landslides. Some say that the current site used to be hills and people could hike up almost a hundred feet but some quakes way back flattened the land.
The die-hard settlers still refused to leave and eventually developed the place, it soon had a new name, the Tailend. They were less wealthy and had fewer workable lands, when the first migration happened most of the gold diggers camped out around there. There were many disputes and they always turned violent. Ironically the wolves that remained got on better terms with the canines, with them out of the main Riverton pack they were less standoffish and had come to embrace them as equals. Chase recalled Kyle's mom from being around here originally, then scrunched his face at the memory of that stupid mutt.
Eventually the regular part of town joined the poorer part, but the shift between the two parts was always apparent in how the pavement and lights looked. The Tailend was situated next to a highway that lead to only small dying cities or even more rural areas so the people that came in those directions were usually trafficking something illegal.
Chase approached the counter and tried to make small talk, he hadn't much luck flexing that acting muscle lately and tried to get into character. He fingered the band-aid he had on his neck for a while now and tried to hurl it into the nearest trash can, it didn't hit its mark and landed to the side sticking to the corner of the bin.
Channeling his most recent role as Grayson the spy, debonair, suave lady's man, but only gayer, the human sat on a stool and smirked at the doberman. It was both exhilirating and exciting.
“You get humans often?" The man easily slipped into character, he lowered an octave and as was delighted to see he did it effortlessly.
“Nope."
Well that wasn't a lot to work with.
“Uh-"
“You orderin' or what kid?" The doberman's voice was gravelly and deep. He was actually polishing something, it was a cocktail shaker instead of a glass but still it looked apropriate enough.
“I'll have the tap."
The doberman raised his eyebrow.
“You sure kid? We got human drinks, you can have B-Light or maybe a Spritzer?"
Chase knew some of the bigger species took more to get plastered but he stuck to his guns and continue.
“Yeah, I can handle it."
“Suit yourself." The doberman took a mug and went to the beer tap. He came back a moment later with a frothy drink and handed it to the human. Chase only now saw how big the mug was, the thing looks more like a stein in his hand. He gulped.
“Thanks."
“Mhm."
The human took a tentative sipped and almost spat it back out. It was very strong, and the taste was strange but not unpleasant. The bartender gave him a brief look then returned to his job serving another dog. Chase took the drink and decided to get a seat in a booth near the entrance, just in case. He turned around and was surprised to see a large Great Dane with huge arms folded at the door. He's easily over 7 feet tall and had his arms crossed around his chest. Chase did not know how he missed the dog on his way but the dane must've been very quiet to not attract his attention. The man barely managed to reach the dog's collarbone.
The man did his best to ignore the sight and sat instead to booth further in. He muttered to himself something about stupid anthros and how big they were When he had first arrive to the big city he couldn't believe the variety there was, but what surprised him most was how little wolves there were, dogs yes but wolves were almost non-existent. He wondered why was and memories drifted back to Hunter, the stupid pup really had grown a lot, he must've been one of the tallest furs he'd ever seen. He wouldn't be surprise if the wolf was taller than the man initially guess, the drunk slouching didn't help and he chuckled at how the first spot he met the wolf again was all the spot where they left. Chase frowned at the memory then got to sipping the strange concoction he'd ordered.
There, across from the only human in the bar was the pool tables and on it were a gang of dogs wearing leather biker jackets. On their backs were the words The Black Jackals with fangs biting the logo. The species were diverse but they all looked intimidating, an average height Ridgeback, two slightly taller Bull Terriers, an impressively big mastiff, a bloodhound and amusingly there was a very cute golden retriever. The dog must belong because he wasn't being treated differently, but to the human he just looked like a very friendly dog wearing a biker jacket and smiling and just waiting to give him a hug. He ogled at him, admitting to himself he liked guys that looked on the tough and dangerous side, then stopped before his train of thought railroaded him into being in an orgy pile with those hounds.
He just sipped his beer again and looked away.
Above him situated one of three TV mounted to the wall. It had a familiar looking collie talking about the weather. He vaguely recalled the dog as being the smartest kid in the class and wondered if he made valedictorian; last he checked hes was on track to doing so, before he ran away...
The lone human just took another sip and this time not completely hating it.
Chase thought about the year or so he had after his outing. Frequency of visits with Hunter was cut considerably, the wolf's uncle had more free time with the court case was still ongoing but the paperwork were done, it now it was a waiting game. His uncle must've also felt threaten or something because he pretty much order Hunter to go on more dates and actually going all the way with girls.
The man took a bigger sip.
One night when his the uncle was busy, away on one of his duties as sheriff and him sneaking away from his mom, the wolf pretty much collapsed on him and broke down. He tried to apologize to Chase and offered to pummel Kyle into a bloody heap just to get back at him but the human talked him down. The wolf really could be stupid sometimes, it was kinda endearing. Kyle was already in the pack so it was pointless to just out of the blue oust him after personally recommending him, not to mention doing it after the wolf-dog outted his former friend would raise alarms. He tried not to show it but the wolf's ears and tails always gave it away, that depressed droop. It was weird how the wolf was taking it worse than the human but Chase never expected much, and was kinda glad the wolf was on the verge of revealing their relationship to everyone. It did make things slightly better, he did secretly wish it will happen, but wolves are pack animals and Hunter must've had a lot of expectations thrust onto him.
Chase took another drink, he did not want to force the wolf to make that choice. Somehow, he thought he would lose.
Their assignations at the gas station were a non-starter now so they decided to meet up at the statue instead. Chase had revealed to Hunter where he kept the tin box, not really caring if the wolf knew. He'd squirrel away cash from his mother, getting worried when the woman started rummaging around his room to look for hair and dead skin. She found his secret money stash under the bed and just took it like it belong to her right in front of him. Hunter was almost always depressed and it felt strange to him the wolf was taking it worse than the human who had been outed and shamed as some kind sort of pervert.
Chase drank at the memory, coughing up a bit and caught his breath.
Their sex were less frequent but no less passionate, the secrecy, the outdoor location, the danger, it was intoxicating. The wolf also felt wrong being too aggressive, like he was the one who outed him. Well it kinda did happen that way but he wasn't actively doing it! The human was rewarded with the wolf offering his own anal virginity to the human. It felt wrong to exchange favors and sex like bartering for forgiveness but the two teenagers didn't know any better. Besides it was still good, the human wasn't nearly as the wolf – not by half and he considered himself at least average, maybe a bit more. The sex had been awkward with him trying to leverage the larger wolf, eventually Hunter just shoved the human down and rode his cock like a power bottom. While not that big, Chase was just the right size to hit the wolf's prostate on his down strokes. It was like he was made for that hole. Hunter grumbled afterwards about how he wasn't a bottom but that wasn't the last time he offered his hole. The human was still the bottom almost all the time, he hated to admit it but he preferred it that way.
Chase sipped the stein-mug, it was about a quarter empty now.
One time while the pair was going at it, in the brush off to the side of the statue. They heard several strangers passing by, a chocolate lab going towards the motel apparently excited about it and showing his friends – he was unrecognizable when he's not in a torpor and the pair were too lost to recognize them. The duo just panted, exhilarating at the thought of doing it so close to strangers. When they had gone back the same route again Hunter had the gall to whimper in orgasm. Chase just smack the wolf's muzzle closed, heaving out a breath as his insides were filled with an usually large load. The combination of not having sex in over a month and the new situation getting to him.
Chase took a gulp this time, finally acclimatizing to the beer and feeling tipsy from being not even halfway into his first drink.
Hunter had broken down after their hot session, crying about how his uncle was basically whoring him out to girls and expecting him to lose his “virginity", it was an affront to the alpha how the pup hadn't done it with any female yet. His uncle bragged about losing his virginity at a younger age and took Hunter's lack of performance as a stain on his own masculinity. Chase only rolled eyes, he wanted to feel sympathetic but the human has his own set of problems with the older Howle. The wolf was cowardly, and irresponsible but oh hell he just was a teenager, just because Chase had to grown up didn't mean everyone else needed to. He pecked the wolf on the cheek and told him he'd come up with something next time.
Chase eyed the bottom of his drink, still a third left to go.
The next time they'd met he gave the wolf a single pill. H-Lycan came in many forms but it was frequently used in pill or powder form. He told the wolf it gave instant boners (according to his uncle) and the wolf just gaped. He thought it was because they gave them a buzz. Chase stifled a chuckle and told him to use it when he had to do it. Inside he was seething with jealousy, outside he put on a concerned face. He thought to himself this would be the last time he covered for the overgrown pup.
It was not.
At this point he had to slow down to get the last dregs of his drink.
They'd made it a habit, after Hunter did the deed with the girl others started approaching him. At first he refused, but then his other friends were starting to date and he had to find someone to go steady with, his uncle didn't want it to look like he was the only bachelor in the group. Chase didn't care for the details, and would frequently sneak him boyfriend a pill. Stowing away one from his mother any chance he got, and hiding them in the tin box for the wolf to dig up. He did not want to be his boyfriend's drug dealer and hated it with a passion, but the wolf relied on him and once again he had to pick up the slacks. He asked why the wolf didn't just ask his uncle and the wolf paled at what he said so long ago. He just stammered out something about his uncle beating him to death if he caught him with drugs, appearances was too important for the wolf. The wolf already had to stop drinking due to his overbearing uncle, something the human just rolled his eyes at.
The mug was finally empty and the man just slouched in his booth, lost in the memory.
Life at school difficult, putting it mildly. He'd find random underwear in his locker, some of them still stained and just gagged. The normal kids actively avoided him instead of ignoring him, he was a weirdo and a deviant and they bolt the moment he looked below the belt line. Oddly enough the girls were less bothered, they still thought him crass and weird but asked him weird questions like who he thought was the cutest guy and why'd he like Hunter. The other wolves took started to tease him by asking if they beat him up would he get hard and laughed. Max and Greg were pretty ruthless, throwing trash at him, tripping him in the hall and locking him into rooms, they'd also ask him who was hotter and if he'd mind getting it on with either of them. Hunter did what he could, but his uncle had explicitly told him not to engage with the human and eyes were everywhere in school to keep a look out. All in all, it was a sucky sophomore year.
Chase looked up from his drink and eyed the crowd, he stared up at the television and was startled to see he'd passed out. It was almost 9:30 and he felt a little hung over. There were a lot more people in the dive bar, not enough to fill it but more than the late noon crowd. He turned to the exit and saw the same Great Dane just standing there dead silent, the Doberman bartender gave him a raised eyebrow as it expecting about as much before going back down to server several anthros at the counter. He fumbled in his booth and was getting ready to leave, he had about enough for one night – just one tap from a seedy bar and head over to pay the very understanding bartender when out of the corner of his eye he spotted a figure exiting the basement, and his jaw dropped.
Getting up from the stairs was a very familiar canine, one he had seen while hiking up the village trail. The one that had set him ablaze with dreams about the torrid love session, the one that bonded him to his wolf and he just stood there like a deer in the headlights. It was that rottweiler, older but ever the same hot face and body that set his heart racing. The rottie looked to be in his late 30's or early 40's and had on several peaces of leather apparel, he was less a biker than a leather daddy and it was doing something to the human.
The lingering gaze didn't go unnoticed because the rottie saw him, the only human in the place and gave a very perverse smile. Somehow he just knew and Chase could tell he knows, you needed a good gaydar in a place like this and that dog had an amazing one. He just gave him one look and a twist of his head to a corner booth and the human was powerless to resist. He walked up to the older male, in a trance. Like his childhood crush made flesh and simply came up to the gruff looking male with a spiked collar and gawked, the dog wasn't as tall as the bouncer but damn was he close but he had the bouncer beat in sheer mass.
The human stared eyes leveled to those firm pecs and swallowed when the rottie flexed one teasingly. The rottweiler's magnetism drew him into the booth and they sat on opposite ends. He waved a hand at the bartender and ordered a non-alcoholic drink for himself and a human one for Chase. He rested muzzle on his folded hands and just smiled.
“You must be new, I haven't seen someone this cute in a while." He murmured in a gravelly whisper.
“Y-yeah, I'm C-Casey." The human gulped and caught himself, managing in just the nick of time.
“Hello Casey, I'm Jackson, but you can me Jack." The rottie edged just the bit closer, damn he must've practiced this a lot. “What's a cute little human like you doing in the Tailend?"
“I-I just needed to escape for a bit, s'all."
“Heh, if that's you need you're in the right place." His voice was gritty and intoxicating, loud enough to be hear but low enough to seem sensual.
A waiter came with the drinks and he just took them in a fluid motion, regular sized drinks, both in one hand and between his fingers.
“Put it on my tab."
He just as easily set the glass in front of Chase and gave him a seductive smile.
“So, a little about yourself kid, you look awfully dressed for this place, gotta admit it's what drew my attention to ya first"
Chase fumbled with his suit and folded his hand on his lap, then re-positioned himself in a more casual pose to look more composed.
“Thanks, I had it fitted."
“Custom made too huh, lookie you fancy kid. Careful you don't go flashing your wallet around, you'll get mugged in a place like this."
The human gulped at that, he'd forgotten the optics of what a well dressed man would experience in such a rough neighborhood. He's surprised he wasn't mugged in his drunken daze, he looked around and the Great Dane looked at him for the first time as the human felt around for his phone and wallet. He blushed at the implied implication, like the dog would allow that to happen in his bar. He looked back to the rottweiler who just smiled. The human decided to sip his drink, it was fruity and held a light buzz.
“Don't worry about Hammer, he's always like that. He tries to act tough but really likes to protect smaller guys, real guard dog that one. Big softie he is... kinda like what I'm packing right now.
Chase just shot from his lips at the open declaration, half blushing and trying to wipe the mess with his the napkin. The rottie just did the most absurd thing possible, he loomed over the smaller human and with a deadpan look lapped up the spilled drink with a dexterous tongue. Chase had memories of that once, how wild it could go and was getting aroused again.
They made small talk for several minutes, the rottie's words laced with double entendre and suggestion. Chase soon found out he was a park ranger and found that somehow really exciting, he imagine what the dog did all day but somehow his counterpart almost read his mind and narrated similar thoughts.
“I usually run around all day half naked and sweaty while smelling like nature. When I'm on fire watch duty, I'd be holed up in a tower in the middle of nowhere for days on end, wearing the same clothes and soaking in my musk." He grinned. “Sometimes I'd locked all the windows on a hot summer day and get in a real workout in, I'd be smelling pretty heavy but the end of a long day. Then I'd just sleep in my own scent." He grunted and adjusted his pants. “Sometimes I'd deny myself the pleasure of jacking off so my underwear gets soaked in pre from my dreams."
Chase could almost imagine it, he was starting to lose it.
“Then why my duty is over, I'd change everything except my underwear, go on a prowl and find a cute thing to fuck his brains out and blow out a few weeks worth of frustration. If they're lucky I let them keep my underwear."
“U-uhm, w-wow."
The rottie just leaned back, mimicking what Chase had tried to do but succeeding. Then just shifted his tone and started acting like a big puppy.
“So? Heh you interested?" He winked and the human was really horny now and he needed some way to release his pent up tension.
He was about to say something when another familiar voice echoed into the bar, and this one he was dreading.
“Woah, damn look at this place!" A certain wolf-dog said.
It was Kyle.
Chase just blanked out, vaguely making out what his old friend was saying as the voice got closer and closer. What the hell is he doing here!?
“Looks a bit divey but hey that's the charm right?" The voice was getting closer still.
“Oh come now, don't tell me you actually like it? He was talking to someone and was doing it by phone. “So you think you'd come here? Heh I'll set the date."
The stupid wolf-dog was getting closer and closer. Meanwhile the rottie just looked at him in confusion.
“Something wrong pup?" He looked at the shaky human, trying to gauge him.
“I-I yeah." He tried to calm down, it was just another surprise visit but his earlier depressing memories, the alcohol, and now the flirting from someone in his wildest dream just really got him messed up. Chase collected his breath and inhaled.
Calm down, he didn't recognize you the first time, he isn't going to again.
Slowly and carefully he breathed in, until he heard something.
“Hey man!"
He froze.
“Heh, it's me! We met at the diner? Man you came into town one day and you're already slumming it? Nice suit." The wolf-dog sat down next to him and rubbed shoulders with who is supposedly a complete stranger. Chase was paralyzed, and tried to move away from the wolf-dog.
“What's wrong? You lost? Don't worry man if you have any problem you can tell me, I personally know some important people in town -" The wolf-dog paused, and sniffed the air.
Chase was hyperventilating now, and the rottie noticed.
“Look man whatever you're doing you need to go away right now."
But he was being ignored, Kyle felt like he had been slapped because he turned his head to the human in a slow shift.
“Chase?"
“G-get the fuck away from me." He shoved the wolf-dog away from him.
“Chase? I thought you were called Casey."
“N-no this is Chase, you're wait-"The wolf dog just shook his head, but it felt like another recognition struck him, the human had worn his suit several times – he'd gotten it as a gift from the set. A very similar one to what he wore in his role as Grayson. How'd this stupid wolf-dog keep finding out about him over and over again. “Holy shit I can't believe I didn't recognize you with your wig."
The wolf-dog was just excitedly bring phone. “Dude it's been so long, look I'm sorry for what happened so long ago but thing's changed man. C'mon bro let's get out of this hole!" Kyle was acting way too over eager.
Chase was frozen in place, everything was crashing down, all the while attention was being drawn to him and their booth. The rottweiler clearly seeing the human in distress and frowning.
“Dude I gotta let everyone know! Yo this is gonna change so much, I should tell my friends, heh I tell first? Maybe Max, or Greg, or Sheriff-" He didn't finish the thought before the rottweiler sock the wolf dog in the face.
“Ow- fuck what the hell you doing, man? I know people in high places!" He muttered as the human maneuvered away from the dog, he starting to hear again.
“You've got some attitude pup, come in and calling this place a shit hole. I don't know what history you two got but he obviously ain't having none of it." He rottie growled and several of the patron were in agreement.
“H-hey sorry I'm working on my mouth, always have a problem with blabbering off but Chase- come here, look we've got so much to catch up on." He reasoned, then added. “Damn you're like famous or something."
That damn mutt is still pandering to whoever is top dog and it sickened him.
“S-still I let me just call my friends they'll totally set things right." He tried to grab for his phone but the human took it.
“Chase! Give that back, c'mon old buddy." Kyle pleaded.
The human glared at him and first some measure of control, for the first time in a while.
“You make me sick, you goddamn clout chasing mongrel." He growled and gave him a hateful glare. “I can't even stand to look at you… stay the fuck away from me!" And hurled the phone into the wall, shattering it. Kyle shot forward at Chase but the rottie gave him another punch and that knocked the wind out of him.
“Get him out of here." Jack growled. The bouncer didn't need any more motivation to drag the dazed wolf-dog to the curb, the wolf-dog just looked hurt but also angry and got up as fast he could was asking people for a phone while lingering several dozen paces from the bar.
“I-I can't. I need to get out of here, he's going to know I'm here now." The slightly intoxicated human just folded in on himself, and did not feel like he could summon the courage again. His body fell limp and slack to the ground, deflating.
“C'mon kid, I think I know a place we can go."
“W-where?"
The big rottie was looming over the lying human, he just grinned at the human while adjusting himself.
“Let's got hiking."
Chase was a nervous wreck at this point, but the alcohol running through him gave him enough courage to steel through the encounter. He follow Jack through the back exit and into the empty streets. A few random furs were staring at the single human in the fancy suit and his mind went places. Thankfully a big hand was wrapped around him and he blushed at the contact. He didn't know if it was the alcohol but he was enjoying the sensation and was almost brave enough to reciprocate the gesture. The rottie's gruff appearance did well to scare off everyone else.
He thought to the recent encounter with Kyle and frowned, that mutt recognized him instantly by scent and he scolded himself for walking about town working up a sweat. His de-scenter usually lasted much longer, up to a whole day, but of course it had run it's limit a earlier today and he groaned in self-reproached. Thankfully his memory was occupied by the odd task of following the park ranger and crush that is Jackson. The rottie had been everything Hunter was not, he growled internally at the thought. No that was unfair, Hunter had tried on several occasion to openly defend him, but the human always managed to deny him that opportunity, probably to save himself the decision to choose. In case he'd regret it.
That last time though... he sighed. The path the two took was odd, it was strangely familiar yet unfamiliar. The grassy stretch of land they took was a little rugged and the human almost thought about turning back, but he did not want to run into Kyle or got forbid the Sheriff and he had no idea where to go in the Tailend, he knew the one route from his school to the bar but the moment the rottie lead him out the backdoor he had already lost track of where he was. The man hoped he wouldn't regret his decision, but alcohol and fear was making him follow the one familiar source of protection, even though they'd just met. It soon became clear however, where they were going and the excitement and adrenaline tickled the back of his mind. He just never went this way before, the last time he'd been here had been exciting and traumatic
This time he hoped it was the former more than the latter. The rottie looked back at him as they traversed the woods.
“So Chase was it or is it Casey?"
“It's Chase, sorry about the fake name."
“Heh don't worry about it, I ain't gonna judge. You look like you don't belong and you didn't want to give your real name." He shrugged as if this was normal occurrence.
“I'm surprised the bartender didn't card me."
“Hah! As if anyone cares around here, and we can never tell how old humans are. You're all smooth faces to us."
“So how'd you notice me then?"
“Heh I might have a thing for humans." He smiled.
I'll bet. The human thought, blushing at the memory.
Chase almost tripped at a particular spot but the leather clad dog grabbed him before he could tumble further. He could feel the dog's breath above him.
“Easy does it kid. Put your legs here, I gotcha." The dog was taking generous helping of the man's hind quarters.
“T-thanks." Chase blushed as he took a step in front, finding easy footing in the uphill trek. He could vaguely sense Jack behind him grunting and adjusting his bulge and pretended to not notice.
“Damn, you've got a nice ass."
“Heh, yeah I've been working out. Got into an intense routine for a bit, now I'm taking it slow."
“Well whatever you're doing keep doing it. Whew it's been a while since I've been off duty, being in the middle of nowhere with trees for miles on end really limits the amount of people exposure you get."
“What? No TV or internet?"
“Nah, haven't had the time and signal is spotty. Nope I just download a ton of books and music, maybe a few movies before I go out to the woods again. Don't have the space for anything too big."
Huh, score one for rangers.
They went for several more minutes, it took a while but the company made the trek not only bearable but enjoyable. Jack had decided to shadow the human from the back and made sure he wouldn't fall, he even made sure Chase knew about several types of flora and how to read the sky. “You know there's a comet returning tomorrow. Named Argos cus like a loyal dog it always returns the same time every century."
“Really?" He mused, somewhat tickled by the thought.
“Heh yeah, I hear you can get a clear view of it if you go to the parks, maybe I show you. Watch the night sky."
“That sounds amazing, I was planning on staying in town another day to go see it too."
“Sounds like a date!"
“Ohh uhm-"
“Don't worry about it, just a stray thought." He brushed it aside with a wink, the rottie just bumped Chase's back and he felt that big bulge across his back.
That dog is such a tease. He was having a harder time resisting the charming pooch.
Soon though they came upon a familiar sight, a very familiar village and that lodge situated on a hill.
“Don't worry, no ones gonna find us here, even if that mutt's really friends with the Sheriff he won't know this location. Heh I heard he used to be pretty fat, lost a bit of weight apparently, stress or something. Guess his age made things easier. "
He wanted to voice his doubt but that would give him away. He wanted to call out on the rottweiler but then again… Brock wasn't Sheriff when they'd nearly been caught and maybe he never saw him. It was Sal the St. Bernard who ran after the rottweiler. The human decided not to reveal he saw this sexy dog pounding a human into submission while he and his ex-boyfriend bonded over their raunchy fuck fest. Chase paused at the though, so Brock Howle lost weight huh? Is that why he's still Sheriff, he frowned at that. All this mention of that wolf only put him in a sour mood though and the rottie seemingly picked up on it. He decided and changed the subject.
“We're here. This place is pretty packed most of the time you know."
“Really? Then why is it so empty now?"
“Heh it's the trees, during the spring season they're in bloom and make the place stink like shit."
“Oh right, I think I knew something like that."
“Well us canines have stronger sniffers, makes it hard to smell if you're not above ground, and the only building above ground is the lodge." He pointed to that old familiar building.
“They don't slum there?"
“Nope, not even when it's full. The dogs around here are pretty superstitious, they are descended from the original , stuck around after their pack ditched the place. They also decided it was a good idea to put a lock on the place, too bad some people unbolted one of the doors."
“So why aren't you superstitious?"
“I don't know when the rumor started, but it's always been a place where men who like… other men would meet up. All the noises people made in that place must've scared a shitload of people cus no one tried again. They might come in during the day, but they won't at night. Those shithead kids did trash the place a bit, broke one of the windows real good." He huffed, a deep and disappointed growl. “Really made it hard to fuck someone with a draft blowing in the place. Even got a noise complaint visit, honestly who does that? Must be some stick in the mud to came to the ass end of nowhere to check things out."
Chase blushed at the open admission of what they might do and also because he was the one who broke the window, he might've played around with the idea of telling the rottie earlier about their first encounter, but now he was not so keen.
“So you bang people in that place huh? Is that what you plan on doing to me too?"
“Only if you want to." The big rottie sidled up close to him and rubbed his powerful leather clad body up against him, his face was almost directly sandwiched between those firm pecs. He lingered for a bit, then nearly dropped to his knee and smelled something else, a very powerful smell emanating from the big dog's leather crotch. It was a very powerful scent and his eyes nearly watered at how heavy it was. Jack seems to know the effect he was having on the human, and teased him a little by having doing a very shallow and slow thrust with his hips then pulled away.
“And I think you do." He whispered that out.
He almost made it look incredibly sex before what sounded like a honk sent the rottie jumping. He darted around and had a jumpy look in his eyes. The dog huffed out a breath and relaxed, trying to return to his macho persona but the moment was ruined.
Chase let out a chuckle and the dog only grinned sheepishly at that. They both got a good chuckle.
“Damn, that must've ruined the mood for yer huh?" He lost a bit of grit in his tone.
“Maybe a little, but I'm glad you're not just always so gruff and serious."
“Heh I can do sweet and lovable too." The dog pulled his best puppy eyes and it was such a mismatch from what he was wearing the human couldn't control himself and let out another smile.
When they finally got to the lodge it was almost as he remembered it, it might've aged a little but less so than one would think considering it's supposed to be abandoned. The rottie showed in him and nostalgia hit him like a ton of bricks. The same doorway with the cut bolts, that long hallway that lead to a big room. He walked through it remember the sounds that drew the two inside, the grunts and the dirty talk.
He rounded the corner of the hallway and saw a very familiar room. It was just like he remembered, some random furniture strewn the floor including two large sofa, an ottoman and a coffee table. There are several stands for vases and cabinets and on one end is a fireplace. Litter dotted the place and he saw several food wraps. He chuckled and thought how ironic he would return to the same place again, only this time in a very different position. Speaking of familiar, he took a stop back near the hallway and rounded up the stairs, just to make sure no one would be peeking. And saw what remained of the window, it shattered as he'd expected but the wall was boarded over and a tarp laid over it just to keep out any weather from entering. He felt a presence behind him and found his leather-clad rottweiler bumping up his back.
“Yeap, that's where it happened." The dog rotated his shoulders, getting out any kinks. “Don't worry its boarded up real good."
“Did you do that?"
“Nah, came back to it like that. I'm grateful for them, makings the afterglow more pleasant." He grins. He beckons Chase back down to the sofa and sat together, the moment was charged and the dog knew just the right buttons to hit.
“You alright? Feeling comfortable?"
“Yeah, it's warmer than I thought."
“Oh yeah, they really did a good job insulating this place even if its so big." He pulled something out of his pant pocket and laid it out on the table. Chase's eyes bulged.
“Is that H-"
“Lycan? Yeah it is. You've got a good eye kid."
Chase just stared at it, the stupid drug that haunted his mother and that he used to smuggle to Hunter. It was a shadow looming over his past and now it's come for him now. He had suspected something was up but this confirmed it.
“You know what it'll do then huh? Makes you pinkos see stuff, but for us canines it's the best damn aphrodisiac on the planet." The dog took several pills and crushed them.
“So that's why you didn't drink at the bar."
“Heh you know about that too huh? Yeah you can't mix your uppers with your downers. Funny how its kinda of both in humans."
He had a card out and was lining them up neatly into rows.
“I heard humans who try it start to see things." He grinned. “Wanna try it?"
That made him pause. He had never done it, not in all the years he touched the stuff but he was always curious what it did. Maybe it was the lingering alcohol, maybe it was the company, and maybe it's because he's horny but the human always wanted to know what it did. What did his mother see when she took it, why she kept coming back to it. He hesitated.
“Hey kid no pressure, it's more for my benefit. Ever fucked a dog on it?" He grinned.
“No."
“Mrhm it's really amazing, you get so hard that it's like you grew an extra inch. I can even fuck a girl when I'm in it." That brought back another bout of memories and he was getting more peeved. This stupid drug everyone keeps talking up like its the holy grail. He's gonna try and he's gonna conquer this too. The man took a pill, then split it in half.
“You should take it in pill form, makes it lasts longer." The rottie offered as he slowly made preparations of his own, he stood up and got to a cabinet and to Chase's surprise there were several supplies laid out there. Lube, condoms, and other things sex paraphernalia neatly lined up.
“If you're try it do it now. It's amazing when a dog knots someone high on this stuff, heard it's electric." He grinned. Must be speaking from experience.
Chase took a swallow and faced the pill, it looked so small and it had helped and hurt him. Now it was his chance to see what the fuss was about. He lingered between two decision before finally committing to a course of action.
“I'll just take half."
He immediately took the small pill, split it cleanly in half and took one into his tongue, letting it slowly dissolve.
The rottweiler proceeded to give him a show, slowly taking off pieces of his clothes. He was going to wait until the last moment before inhaling his lines. Chase was already feeling a slight tingle, visions dancing in the corner of his eyes. He saw Jack not as a rottweiler but almost something else, something more like a great beast coming for his prey. A hunter on the prowl… Hunter. Whatever the visions were about to dissolve into it changed to that of a wolf. He was still lucid but the overlay of visual sensations were certainly distracting.
“Hey, uh didn't you sip up some of my drink before?"
“Oh? Yea I guess I did." He continued to undress. “Mhm that might've been a problem if I immediately did it right after, but it was just a sip of a very low alcoholic drink. And it's been almost an hour since then? You must really know a lot about this drug."
Jack thought about taking off his collar but decided against it, always loved the way it looked. Instead he got out of his leather jacket and unrolled his shirt. His body was a bit older but remained firm with a delicate treasure trail to his crotch that contrasted the short fur on his body. He didn't have abs but must've worked out because it was showing under a layer of fat.
“Yeah… I guess I do..." He was propelled half by memory and half by the drug into his junior year of high school. His final year of high school as well.
* * *
Chase huffed at Hunter who was looking at him with wide disbelieving eyes, hurt and desperately reasoning with him.
“Chase please, don't do this!" The overgrown whined, it was almost the end of junior year, and in the year and a half since Chase was outed he'd grown again. The growth spurt wasn't as sharp, but the pace in which he grew became consistent. The monstrous giant of a wolf had plopped up to 6 foot 9 inches and was now as wide as two or three of him. He'd shot past 300 lbs and if you never saw him run you'd guess he was the linebacker instead of the quarterback. Chase himself managed a to grow to 5' 11" finally but was still waifish thin, any chance to go the gym would be impossible. Not for the lack of trying either.
Big as he was the big wolf still looked like a lost puppy, while walking around the human, pacing back and forth around the statue as the human dug at his usual location. He'd still had a stash of H-Lycans lying around with inside the cash cache, the wolf's uncle let up on him and got off his case after he must've fucked half the cheer-leading team. Chase had grown comfortable with this semi-cuckolding, pretending in his head the wolf wasn't enjoying it as much either. Imagine his surprise when he caught the lumbering oaf one day in the locker railing a bitch like his life depended on it. The wolf had seen him too but seemed way too into it to care, he just kept going at it as if he couldn't stop. The teen just bolted after that.
Now Hunter was just standing around groveling at his feet for forgiveness."I-it's the drug, I can't help it." He whimpered.
“I-I know, but I don't care. I just can't do it anymore. I thought I could stay here for you but maybe I need to leave for ME. It's time I stop being self-less. I'm going to be selfish for a change."
“Bu-but. What about me?" The wolf whined needily. His own worries roiling inside him like a cauldron about to go off. It wasn't fair, he was being whored out to sate his uncle's ego, a mountain of expectations and a false image to go along with it. But at least he didn't have to confront them out in the open. Chase closed his eyes and thought about it.
“I'm sorry."
“N-no wait. Please!" The wolf engulfed him in a big embrace, crying now. His ears flopped and deflated. “I'll make it up to you."
“How? You can't. Just let me go. Don't guilt me into stay-"
“I'll say it."
“W-what?"
“I'm gonna come out, in front of the whole school." The sniffled. This was huge.
“What about your uncle?"
That nearly froze the wolf but the immediate fear of losing him seemed to be overwhelming his fear of his uncle. “F-fuck him. He keeps getting fatter and he's not as strong as he used to be. I'm getting big now, he can't make me do shit I don't want to."
“I'm serious, just come to prom. I'll do it. Y-you have my word." The wolf sniffled.
“O-okay." Chase just answer. This is what he wanted right? A part of him brain wanted to gainsay the wolf. The ask him if he was really really sure. It terrified him to think about the wolf thought about reconsidering. So a part of him did what everyone else around him did. He applied his own form of peer pressure on the already drowning wolf, and gave the only push someone of his power had. The power of love, and it was one lever no one else had on the wolf.
“If you do this for me, I'll stay." He said. A part of him hissed at him, to just run away while the pup's not looking and leave a goodbye note. He didn't know much about pack dynamics but he knew it would be ten time worse for Hunter to do it. Yet a selfish part of him also wanted to be acknowledged, that he wasn't just a side piece for the wolf. A demonstration of faith needed to be made.
“I'll take responsibility this time, I'm serious." The wolf said, in a slow heave.
Chase just held him closer and gave him a passionate kiss, and this time he was the driver. He pushed his tongue into the wolf and for once the wolf was the submissive one, giving way to the smaller tongue. They kept at it longer than usual that night and the wolf went home with a pep in his step and a plan bubbling in his mind.
That was several weeks ago, now Chase was at prom. The venue was in the gymnasium and consisted of juniors and seniors. The other kids by now knew him by reputation if not name, some of them were wondering why he came and he felt the same way.
He had gotten the tux from his grandma who during the whole scandal was supportive. She didn't judge him too much, never did care for propriety. As far as she was concerned the family black sheep was his mother and she paid back by having the smart, kindest, most hardworking grandson in the world. He wore his marks like leather and hide - and stood out like a lone wolf, a pack of one. Mabel just didn't care, if anything his outing was more of a curiosity and could be seen talking to her making adjustments to something she scribbled on.
He rubbed at the ill fitting suit that once belonged to his grandfather and went walking around. The drama had died down in the recent year and he was starting to interact with some of the more receptive classmates. They still thought he was weird but he couldn't really change that now could he? He might be embarrassed to show up if he didn't know that Hunter was about to make the announcement of a lifetime and felt a pang of sympathy for the wolf. At least he'll get to do it, on his term. To Chase's surprise more students were supportive of his homosexuality than he gave them credit for, the rumor that he stole Hunter' jockstrap and was into that sort of thing though really put a damper on others.
At any case, he walked across the busy gym floor, with a surprisingly huge cast of students, more showed up than he thought would be coming for a prom. He saw a disproportionate number of them being wolves and gathered Hunter brought them here for a reason.
What harebrained scheme did that stupid wolf come up with this time. He rubbed his face as he passed by two chatting dogs.
“Did you see him? Where'd he go!?" Aster barked worriedly. He'd volunteered to help manage with preparations at the prom and was surprised the duo of Alex and Cass volunteered to help as well. They must really need the credit, working over the past few weeks shopping, printing flyers, selling tickets, putting up and cutting decorations and a dozen other small tasks.
“Relax, I had him on kitchen duty." Cass to Aster's surprise did not have any food within reach for the first time. The pitbull was refilling the punch but taking sips.
“A-are you sure that's a good idea?" Aster just blurted, this was crazy to let the stoner touch anything let alone the kitchen. “I-I'll check up on him." The collie dash off.
Chase was passing by the wolf pack when he noticed them staring at him with glee and anticipation. He was confused and somewhat scared so he just ran off, as far from them as possible. Hunter had told him to meet on the second floor bathroom and he took the most circuitous route he could manage to avoid detection, the hit list of pop music was already on full blast and several couples were getting into the mood to dance.
When he finally go to the bathroom he turned to see a very well dressed and handsome wolf. If he didn't know this was Hunter he actually buy that cocksure and suave smile plastered on his face, it lasted for a bit before wolf started fidgeting and getting nervous.
“H-How'd I look?" He stammered.
“You look amazing." He meant it, the wolf was wearing all black with a white shirt and a very dapper bow-tie. “You're really brave for what you're about to do y'know."
“Y-yeah." He swallowed and confidence returned to the wolf. “Heh you ready for my surprise?"
“Huh? Oh yeah sure what is it?"
The wolf took out a crown and a tiara.
“W-what's this?"He muttered in confusion.
“Surprise! I got the guys to fix the vote, they're totally gonna write us down as prom king and queen. They thought it was funny cus you they think you're into me and I joked around with the idea, they also thought it might humiliate the alpha and totally went with it!" He wolf grinned.
Chase was flabbergasted, this was his bright idea?
“Dude… if I get voted prom queen I'll be-"
“Hey, relax man." The wolf sidled up to him and gave him the crown. “Tonight you're the king."
“Huh?"
“Yep, since I'm coming out I might as well be the queen too! I'll do it once we get crowned for real!" He smirked half confidently. His was faltering between words but slowly worked up the courage to put on a brave face.
Give him an out. Just give it to him. The deepest part of him urged. But he was getting too close to what he wanted, this foolish prank aside and he pushed again.
“You're the bravest wolf I know."
No he's not! He's scared, you're the stupid martyr, go die on that hill. Don't make him follow you off a cliff!
“I'm so proud of you." And gave him another passionate kiss. “I know you won't disappoint me. Heh look at you being responsible for once."
“Y-yeah, okay I'll see you at the crowning then!" The wolf walked away in a haze.
So close now.
He brushed off any lingering doubt and plop back the same winding route he took back to the gym, throwing the false crown into the bin – he'll settle for the real one this time.
The gym was getting packed by now, almost the entire junior and senior class came as if spurred by some rumors or another. He saw Hunter swallowed in a crowd of other wolves, their height and size just made it impossible to make out who was who. They seem to be encouraging him though and hooting and hollering. Some of the others just smiled at Chase like they were in on something funny. A part of Chase started worrying again, what would his uncle say to a gay nephew, he had a snippet of it that night at the village and fear surged in his heart again. Hunter said he'll handle him, he meant it right?
Chase drowned in his worry while the night progressed. He noticed some of the canines were passing around pills, and they looked very familiar. He started to get a worried look and was about to take a deeper peek when he bumped into someone very familiar. Kyle. He wanted to scream but just held his tongue attempted to brush past him but the wolf-dog had taken notice and rounded to his former friend.
“Hey you. Listen I want to-" The wolf-dog began.
“Not now." The human just grumbled.
“No stop I want to-"
“I don't have time for backstabbers, move it." He growled at the wolf-dog, Kyle had ruined his life and while he hadn't seen much of him since then, the times he did it was always in the company of the wolves. The brief times they saw each other they just ignored one away.
“Alright have it your way faggot." The wolf-dog grumbled as he padded away.
Chase got close to the wolves and through he saw them slipping something into Hunter's drink. The wolf seemed a bit out of it but was doing a good job hiding it.
“Damn you're pretty brave going along with it, I can't believe you're going out of your way to do that."
“R-really?"
“Hehe yep, you're gonna do great!"
They potted him on the back and the wolf eagerly continued downing it.
Chase was beginning to wonder what it was they were doing when the wolves noticed him. They shooed him away hollering the same tired line they'd hurled the past year and their size just overwhelmed him. He eventually had to give up, walking to the back of the gym when a chaperone, one of his teacher came up to him and asked him to come with them.
“Chase right? I don't know how but you got voted Prom King, let's get you back stage. You're not gonna believe who your partner is."
I'll bet you I do.
“It's an idiotic prank but boys will be boys, we'll call you in 10 minutes so just relax back here and get acquainted with your 'Queen'." Huffing as they went off.
Chase just stood behind the curtains as another set of footsteps approached and could tell it was Hunter. He walked with a gait and didn't see all there but his friends were all just shouting and swinging when they dropped him on the chair and laughed, telling him they just couldn't wait to see the big surprise. He wanted to follow them but Hunter just grabbed him into a hug. Just the two of them in backstage alone for at least 10 minutes.
“Heh Hunter, getting frisky aren't we? Can't wait til after you're out?"
“Oh huh yeah. I can't, you smell amazing." The big pup kept sniffing him and took in a deep inhale against the human's neck. He took a deep chug of his drink and feel to the ground.
What the hell is going on?
He grabbed the big wolf's drink and took a sniff.
“Great, alcohol." He muttered. “So much for coming out he glared at the wolf almost relieved in a way. He wouldn't have to make that decision after all. He scolded the wolf.
“Get up you drunk, let's get out of here before things get really awkward." He tried to pull the wolf up but he was just too heavy. The wolf was almost twice his weight and very top heavy. The difficulty however didn't stop there, he started to notice something between the wolf's leg and gaped. Hunter wasn't just rock hard, it was absolutely massive, the wolf slowly tugging at his pants in pain and pulled out his huge hard cock. It was huge, the wolf had gotten bigger again during the last year and a half and this time it looked like it grew again to his confusion. It almost looked like he is under the effect of-
Shit it's H-Lycan. Chase gulped, he would be incredibly aroused if there wasn't an audience full of people just beyond the curtains. He roused the wolf as best he could but it elicited no response. He tried to several minutes while the wolf got limper and limper, all the while he cock was raging hard. The wolf looked comatose, unable to even make a basic noise. What is going on it looked bad, the combination of alcohol and H-Lycan seemed to make it the perfect date rape drug.
“C-come on Hunter you need to get the fuck out of here." The whisper shouted but the wolf just remained in a haze, staring off into the distance. He thought about dragging the wolf out while trying to buckle his pant back together again, it was very difficult but his sense of urgency overrode his horniness. He was grabbing the wolf's cock in his handle repositioning it inside his pants when he heard a very familiar voice.
“Boy I don't care what you're playing at you ain't gonna go out as the goddamn prom Queen. I swear to G-" Chase frozen, his back to a towering figure and could hear blood pumping in his ears. The elder Howl grew deathly silent, a primal snarl in his throat. Chase just slowly turned around, looking at those large boots fitted for canids, up past dark pants to that fat gut, bigger again in the last year, the Sheriff logo plastered on those still strong chests, up those powerful shoulders and into cold steel eyes, they were staring murderous at him.
“Get the fuck away from him."
“W-wait I-"
“I told you to stay away from him and I see you backstage molesting my drunk nephew?" He growled. He stared at the erection and automatically assumed the boy was the one who drugged him, after all it couldn't be goody goody Hunter. “I know that effect anywhere, you spiked his drink with those pills didn't you?" He growled. “Must've picked up the pill and tricks from your mother." He was usually pretty violent when he caught Chase before. This time he was very cold and calculating. He clambered across the stage, just those three all alone. One of whom is passed out with a raging erection.
“I'll admit I'm impressed you managed to slip him a pill. I knew he likes to drink when nervous, s'why I made sure to keep my eye on him. But I didn't know you knew that trick, did you learn it from your mom? Potent combination, makes raping wolves so much easier."
“I didn-"
“I'll say it right now, if I wasn't in the backstage of a packed building tonight I might just murder you right here and now." He eyed his claws then walked calmly to the teenager, who already several feet away from the dangerous sheriff.
“But I think I can settle for something else." And launched a blow straight into his gut, knocking the wind out of him. The teenager reeled in pain, clutching his stomach and the elder Howle just kicked him around. He grabbed his clothes and proceeded to tear them out. Chase tried to hold them together, fighting weakly every step of the way but failing. He was overpowered and he couldn't do a damn thing and was crying now. He just looked over to Hunter while sobbing, hoping the wolf would protect him but the lupine just looked in a drugged haze. The human keep staring at him while above him a bigger predator was ruthlessly clawing his clothes away. Strip by little strip they were rent from his body, first the suit then the shirt, then the pants and finally his underwear. He left to shoes on just for the hell of it and scoffed.
“Damn you look pathetic." Eyed his genitals and laugh. “Can't tell if you're small or all human are this size." With a grunt he dragged the human to the curtains. Chase was sobbing some more than tried desperately to wriggle out of his grip but failing. The squirming however did piss the sheriff off and he turn him around to land another fist into the stomach. This time did the trick, he doubled off and started to lose consciousness.
The wolf saw a rope tied to a sandbag at one end and got a brilliant idea. He dragged Chase around and got busy tying him. When he was done he just marveled at his work, his victim's hand tied to the back while parading in all his naked glory. Chase could hear the voice coming out front making an announcement of who the prom king and queen were, he struggled harder. Brock however just went up to Hunter and violently slapped the comatose lupine, also as if he were testing to make sure he really was drugged and grunted.
“Fucking embarrassment, getting outsmarted by a human." He put the wolf back into modesty and hauled him over his shoulder. The last thing he said to Chase was a warning.
“I'm going to give you one final warning mongrel, because the next time I see you alone. I will kill you. Make sure I forget you." In a deep growl as he went through a back exit, all the while the teenager was crying as the curtains raise to a stunned audience, it didn't stay silent for long.
* * *
Chase murmured weakly, his memories assaulting him again. He growled at them, telling them to go away but the drugs seem to be having their effect. It didn't take long for the entire school to ridicule him now, they'd taken pictures and videos too. It might've been the talk of the school if not for what happened almost immediately after. An explosion in the kitchen made the lunchroom unusable, students had to go several days starving and irritable. Somehow in addition to that many student were experiencing symptoms of being drugged and several parents were absolutely living with the school staff. There were some positives thought, thankfully to Chase being underaged all the videos that were post were almost immediately shut down and students who showed it were harshly penalized, that didn't stop the kids though. In addition to being a pervert he was also an exhibitionist and at this point no one wanted anything to do with him. Chase at this point stopped caring, Hunter or not he was going to leave.
Chase's visions thankfully shifted to something else though. He saw the image of a massive wolf shrouded in shadow with glowing amber brown eyes staring back at him. It called to him, beckoning him to hunt with him but the human only swatted it away. He eyed the rottweiler was teasing him achingly slowly, finally deciding to strip down to just his collar and boxers. Chase was tantalized at the sight and decided to memorialize the moment. He picked up his phone just as the rottie stripped down his underwear. His fat sheath swaying to and fro. He turned his phone back on, briefly acknowledging some notifications including the very low battery percentage and positioned the camera so it cropped out the face. The rottie seemed to enjoy the attention and gave up very close to him.
The man was out of it, his drugs seemingly putting him in a very arousing mood, odd but not unwelcome. He continue to do so when he noticed the mail on the corner, and it was of a very recent addition too. He pressed the voicemail and went back to the logs. They were all by Alex and went something along the line of.
“I'm really sorry, I tried to stop but he wouldn't let me."
“Hey Casey this is really important get back to me!"
Finally one that really stood out was what Alex shouted.
Just then outside Chase heard the sound of sirens.
“Shit!" Jack jumped immediately jolted out of his mood. He started to get really angsty and ran around the room gathering his clothes.
On the phone he heard Alex say. “Hey uhm I don't want to alarm you but the Sheriff kinda found out about you… from me. Uh he came in after some kids vandalized my annex." He whimpered. “Uhm uh the Sheriff was pretty adamant about nailing the kids on charges or something and might've want to see my camera. He might've said somethings to me too. I don't know how but he seem to know where to go and umm anyways he saw you on it and froze. Turned white as a ghost too, asked me some questions. I-I don't know what's going on but if you're in trouble you shouldn't worry he's not that bad a guy-" He shut the voicemail off.
Chase's heart leapt to his throat as everything came collapsing around him. He tried to get his bearing but the drug made it difficult, the visions really messed with his eye hand coordination. In the background he heard rustling as a very familiar two tone blare with delay screamed from outside.
Fuck it's really him!
“L-listen kid sorry to bail but I can't be caught again, not while in possession! I-I'll see you some other time ok!?" Jackson just grabbed everything he could and hauled ass out the exit before the sirens suddenly stopped. But it was too late, Chase knew whose car it belonged to and stumbled to the window, a large figure was loping towards the lodge very quickly.
He gulped as he heard the rottie stormed out the entrance.
He couldn't do this not again, not in this of all places! He was in a panic and ran around the big room, and looking for something to defend himself. He could hear the steps slowing down, as if deciding to go after the rottweiler, and just like last time ignored them. They slowed as they resounded at the entrance, and he could hear sniffing and a growl. A very deep growl.
He hurried as much as he could, still half horny and drugged and dragged himself to the fireplace. He tried to fish around for something to use. There might be a poker or something, he got desperate. The footstep go closer and he knew it was just around the corner of the hallway.
Oh god it can't end like this. This can't be the end…
He rummaged around a pile of debris as the footsteps slowed down. He threw rubble away until something caught his eye. He reached down and gripped the handle of a very familiar object. He pulled it out and dusted it off, a very familiar bat laid in his hand. On one handle were engraved the words.
Property of Hunter Howle.
He was caught up in the moment but then heard a voice from behind.
“Stop." A low growl rumbled behind him and Chase immediately stilled.
He didn't, it was getting too close only several feet away now.
He turned around and nearly lost his footing as he held the bat. He slowly gazed up.
Those large boots fitted for canids, around the waist a tightly wounded police belt, a much smaller gut apparently those rumors were true, the Sheriff logo plastered on some massive pectorals, up those powerful shoulders and into…
The deepest blue eyes he'd ever seen.
Chase must be hallucinating really hard because the wolf in front of him wasn't match with his expectations. He just kept staring into that face, the fur is pitch black almost melting into the background but those eyes always gave him away even in the dead of night. The human stumbled back a bit still clutching the bat in confusion at the one person he wasn't expecting to show up. He tried to stand up straighter but found his legs a little wobbly, possibly nerves or a side effect of the drugs. No he must be seeing things, he got his free hand up and slowly reached for the face, trying to make sure it's not a vision, that it's really Hunter Howle the friend, bully, jock, boyfriend, classmate, confidant, protector, and so much more all rolled into one was really standing right there.
“H-Hunter? He asked in a shock, almost afraid of the response.
The towering figure just stood up tall and erect, and the human realized how much bigger the wolf had gotten. His slouch from yesterday was gone and he loomed above the human, taller even than his uncle by a few inches, reaching 7 feet and 8 or 9 inches and must be weighing over a quarter-ton judging by his sheer mass, most of which was muscle. He must've grown a whole foot in the decade since they last time they've met. His was still reaching his hands toward the behemoth when he noticed the expression on the wolf and it was not one of happiness or excitement but one of an angry frown.
“It's Sheriff Howle." He growled out low and hitting a bass deeper than Jackson had. Hunter was as tall compared to the rottie as the rottie was tall compared to Chase. The big lupine was perfectly still, not sign revealing his intentions one way or another. Not even a tail wag. Chase gulped, how much does a person change in a decade? He could tell the wolf has some shadows under his eyes, either from stress or lack of sleep he didn't know. He was somehow reminded of his uncle and shuddered at the thought, it was both terrifying and somehow not.
“It's me, it's" He tried to mumble out.
“Oh yes, I know who you are." The deep voice just continued on, hands on his back walking around the human, he was at eye level just below those large pectorals. “Mr. Casey Meadows right?" He almost spat out those words, now behind the human. “What's a celebrity doing in this backwaters?" His boots stomped on the ground and Chase could hear the wood protesting at the weight and force. He caught the wolf in the corner of his eye and the brute gestured around the lodge as if pinning the blame on him.
“I thought I told you if you littered I'd haul you to the station myself." He said, completely dead pan. This was not the Hunter he remembered, the pup was always fidgety or excitable. He looked at that huge and fluffy tail but it didn't give anything away either.
“I-I didn't litter that, it was there when I got here." He breathed as the wolf completed his first circuit around the human and he got a good look at the profile of his first boyfriend. He was wide as well as thick, those firm rumps only got bigger and his pants were doing a poor job hiding their definition. The wolf wasn't as lean as he once was, Chase could see the stomach jutting out a bit, the hint of abs trying to poke out of the fat. The wolf took a breath and he watched as all the fat just when away, and a set of 6-pack abdominals could be seen before he exhaled again and the muscle gut returned. He also couldn't help but notice that huge bulge in the wolf's pants, the sheath and those massive balls were protruding out obscenely and Chase just lingered at them before the wolf rounded him again.
“Oh? And the other dozen or so things I could charge you with pup?" He growled out.
“L-look Hunter-"
“You will address me as either Sir or Sheriff Howle." That sharp cold tone brook no dissent and Chase realized he might not be the same Hunter remembered and shuddered in fear, at the thought of an ever bigger Brock and one in shape. He had seen the wolf yesterday so defeated and slouched but now he was showing him that he was alpha material for a reason.
“S-sir I didn't do anything wrong." He was in a cold sweat, wondering how'd it come to this between him and his old flame – did things really change that much?
“Oh? I beg to differ, for one thing you're trespassing. This place isn't open to the public, especially not for midnight trysts." He growled at that, barely hiding hid contempt. “It's a good thing I have a good idea who the other suspect might be..." He casually mentioned it like an idle threat. “So little pup, you plan on coming nicely or what?"
Chase froze. Did he really mean to haul him down to the station? He gripped the bat at that. This stupid wolf must be having his ego go to his head. He turned behind him and tried brandishing the bat. The wolf only looked amused until he saw the familiar object, it looked like something flashed before his eyes but that was gone almost instantly and he growled at the man.
“Threatening an officer of the law with a weapon too? You are really racking up the charges Mr. Meadows." He gave the man a very menacing glare. “You're treading on thin ice..." The human just trembled a little, but he held his ground. This was a test or something right?
“No, I'm not going Sir and you can't make me." He answered mockingly and tried to growl back when you're standing in front of a giant wolf almost 2 feet taller than you it's hard not to quake a little. “And I told you, I'm Chase Hill you know-"
“Don't know who that is." He shot back. “Last I saw him he ran off and never came back. If he did return I think I'd've been owed at least a courtesy visit!" He talk-shouted at the human. “No he wouldn't just come skulking about, run into his old flame and never admit who he WAS!" The wolf almost frothed at the lips saying that. “And then what? Stay for a day and just LEAVE AGAIN!? No… He wouldn't possibly run to the Tailend and find not just anyone but that dog to FUCK."
The wolf shouted that, panting as his voice carried over the lodge and into the village. For the first time there really was a beast in the village.
“I-I'm sor-"
“No, no you're not him." He somehow got back to his normal cadence as if what he just said didn't really affect him, and walked to the sofa. “Which is why I'm arresting you." He said it was a somewhat sadistic glee.
“No please Hu- Sir I know I've trespassed but everyone does it, I don't think anyone's been arrested for it. Certainly not me." He tried his own tactics back at the Sheriff. After all he was arrested for the same crime, and if he acknowledged it he would be admitting who the human was.
The wolf almost seemed caught up in his rebuttal when he looked down at the coffee table and smiled.
“Maybe, it is a pretty petty crime. You wouldn't even be locked up a night for that." He seemed intent on putting the fear of god into the human. “But maybe I can lock you up for a more serious one."
He got close to the lines of H-Lycan and eyed the neat vertical rows.
“Possession of even low level substance isn't gonna look pretty, not for a budding actor Mr. Meadows."
Chase was just floored, this asshole is really going to make him pay for leaving?
“No no, don't do this. You're not gonna ruin everything I built up, I've made a life outside of this hellhole and you're not gonna drag me back down again."
“Back down again? I don't know what you're talking about Mr. Meadows, this is the first time we've ever met" He whispered low and threatening. “I do remember a human who ditched me when everything was turning to shit and accused me of being an irresponsible burden though." His hackles raised.
“What so instead of accidentally ruining my life you're gonna purposefully do it?" He growled at the wolf, drug, alcohol, and adrenaline shaking off any nerve he had. The man ran around trying to reach the exit, throwing the bat at the startled wolf as a distraction. The wolf recovered almost immediately and with the muscle memory of a footballer closed the distance almost instantly.
Chase gawked at the mass of muscle of far speeding into him like a train truck, for once he really felt like he was in the clutch of an apex predator, a hunter. The wolf went crashing into the human and with a fluid grace took the fall, bracing most of the damage. He didn't seem all that messed up by it. Instead he seemed to pin the human to the ground almost instantly, his large knee on the human's back. Chase was disoriented, dazed but not injured and started seeing the effects of the drug again as that same massive brown wolf danced in his vision, nearby another wolf black as night prowled – even bigger than got ready to pounce. The visions disappeared again as he felt one of his hands behind positioned backwards.
The large black wolf was huffing and inched down to the prone human. Chase could feel the breath on his back and shuddered at the voice that seemed less cold but equally firm and dominant. “Don't do that again little one." And he could hear irons clanking behind him.
The wolf got his other hand behind him and the human was very worried now. He thrashed about but the wolf was almost three times his weight and didn't even feel the need to adjust himself. Chase felt one of his hands being manacled and he tried again this time more defiant, the drug really getting to him and sees more visions. “S-sir please let me go! Please sir I'm begging you!"
“You're not doing yourself any favors pup, now stop squirming." And with that his other hand was locked into place. That immediately shook the fight out of him as he deflated, but still kept on reasoning with his captor. The wolf turned him around to face him, his hand now behind his back. He was completely helpless.
“P-please Sheriff Howle, l-let me go. I-I can't get arrested, I don't want to lose everything I've worked so hard for. P-please. I'll do anything." He pleaded to the impassive wolf, who just smiled at him with glee.
“Anything?" He lowered his eyes at that, a predatory glee in his eyes.
“W-wha yes sir anything." He just blurted out, and he saw for the first time the wolf's tail doing a lil wiggle. It was also only now apparent to Chase how sweaty the wolf was, as if he had been working out or running around town. He was still lying on the ground and Hunter was directly above him, his legs bent and straddling the smaller male. Chase could smell the musk of the wolf this close. The wolf growled lower at the human, then looked around the place.
“Hmm, tell me Mr. Actor, how'd a straight guy like you manage to find your in a gay cruising spot?" He whispered almost accusingly.
“I-I never said I was straight." He weakly responded, not wanting to go into detail.
“No? Your fMDB page says otherwise, I also check your wiki no mention of your sexuality there either."
Chase gulped. What the hell is he doing researching me? How long did he know?
“I also corrected some mistakes on your page, I don't know why it says 6 foot 1 but you're obviously 5 foot 11." He said that last part with a smirk. “Knew a guy who could do edits."
“W-wait that was you!?" Somehow that was the most offensive thing the wolf did all day.
“I don't like liars." He shrugged. “Makes me wanna punish them..." He emphasized that last part.
“I don't know what you're on about Hunter but-" He felt a strong paw grasp him by his suit lapels, his face dragged inches to the wolf's and felt the his exhalations. He could smell him breath and it was heavy and it overpowered his since, he however didn't smell any alcohol.
“It's Sir pup, this is your last warning, I won't be repeating myself again will I boy?" The wolf growled dominantly, some of his seriousness returning again.
“N-no sir, you won't." He was so confused at the situation but a part of him was feeling strange sensations.
“Good…" He seem to focus on something outside of Chase's view and took it in his paw. Wait is that Jack's underwear? He looked on in dumb amazement as the wolf took the thing in his hand and sniffed it, shuddering. The big wolf adjusted his pants and looked at the helpless man.
“Damn that is strong, I guess I interrupted something huh?" He growled.
“Uhm n-no you didn't." He replied back dumbly.
“Oh yes I think I did, I might add public indecency charges too. Mm you're racking up quite the list."
“B-but you said if I could do anything..." He mumbled.
“I didn't say that, I just wanted clarification." He got closer to prone human, more of his weight atop him, his bulge now resting on the man's stomach. “Am I going to add bribing too? You little pervert."
“Y-you're the one sniffing other people's underwear. Maybe I should tell everyone that!"
“And now blackmail?" He growled lowered. “I might have to extract my pound of flesh pup."
“What's that supposed to mean?"
“It means-" the wolf grunted as he got even closer, them now face to face. “That I own you. You're all mine now, no questions asked, or I'll make your life very difficult. I can't let that sort of defiance go unchallenged."
“That's got to be illegal…" He protested weakly.
“I never said I was a good cop." The wolf demurred. His face was almost an inch from Chases, the tension palpable in the air. “Submit…" The wolf whispered in a low rumble, practically engulfing him now, his towering form eclipses the man and surrounding him on all sides.
The wolf paused their faces touching, almost waiting for something from the man. A confirmation of sorts. Chase's mind was in a haze and he felt a deep stirring within him, the effects of the vision only lingering. A vision of two wolves, one sprinting forward, chasing the rising sun, the other low and prowling, hunting the waning moon. He was reminded of the first time he lost his virginity, and thought it was the wolf's way of asking permission. Somehow he didn't think it would nearly as tame as their first time. He gulped.
“Do I have a say in this?" He wavered.
“Maybe." A hint of disappointment evident in the wolfs tone, a crack showing in the calm demeanor. Somehow they both knew it wouldn't come to that though. The human was at his breaking point too. So he played along, they both wanted this right?
“I-if I do this sir. Will you let me go?"
“We'll see pup. Depends on your performance." He growled. “I'm going to make it worth my while. Gotta work off all those charges..."
“O-okay sir, I-I'll submit." He murmured.
“Say you're my bitch." He wolf said that almost reflexively, like he was waiting for an in and ramming straight through the opening. He eyes dilated just a bit, a dominant tone in his voice.
“B-but.." He wanted to whimper.
The wolf seemed to widened his eyes a bit as if he might've pushed too far. He was paralyzed at his own declaration. Chase meanwhile saw another vision, of two wolves now, meeting at an equinox when both celestial bodies conjoined, both colliding together and tussling. He couldn't tell which one came out on top their color melding but it spoke to him. To let it consume it. He realized he was still staring at the wolf, not knowing how long had passed, smelling each other's breath, but he swallowed hard.
“I-I'll be your b-bitch sir. P-please sir I'll do anything to go free." He stammered back.
Whatever tension the wolf was holding back seemed to disappear, and his tail wag a violent wag before calming again. He ground his crotch along Chase's stomach and down again, he licked the human's face with a huge tongue that could encompass his face and closed in on his ear.
“That's what I like to hear pup." He slowly got up and the human could see that bulge stirring, the wolf adjusting himself again. He was wearing his sheriff's uniform and his entire body screamed power, from his stance to his bearing to his physique, and he knew it too. The human's own member was starting to grow steady and hard at the sight. The wolf unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt and manhandled the human, dragging him nearer the center. He shuddered as those deep blue eyes glowed in the near full moon sky, a powerful predator that could probably see the room in its entirety with ease. The many windows of the lodge and even a skylight lit the room in an ambient glow. The wolf took a single seat sofa from one of the dark corners and carried it overhead with ease. Chase noticed a wet spot on the wolf's pits and gaze up toward those powerful shoulders and arms that easily dropped the large furniture, directly in the center of the room right between the large sofas, the glow bathing his form in a moonbeam, motes of dust falling around the his giant form.
Chase swallowed as his breath was caught. The wolf just gave a smug smirk and sat in the chair, leaned back and spread his legs wide, the bulge straining against his cotton pants. His black boots made straining noises and his belt held the usual item, including a flashlight, a walkie conveniently off, more manacles, some keys, a spray, a club fitted for his size, and holstered gun bigger than any human could easily handle. The man quivered a little, was this really the same dumb pup that was squirming and whimpering whenever they had sex? As if hearing his thought, the wolf rumbled in a low gravelly tone.
“Crawl to me bitch." He said it as if it was going to happen, no questions asked.
The human hesitated, this was beyond humiliating and the wolf seemed to pick up on it.
“You said you'd do anything right?" He growled dominantly. “You have quite the debt to pay back, and I'm collecting." Somehow Chase didn't think he was talking about the charges. Maybe this is penance of sorts, he blushed. He'd imagined worse, and sighed internally. If it'll help…
He was only a few feet away from the wolf but with his hands tied behind his back he only wormed his way there, agonizingly slowly. The wolf just looked like his wildest dreams were coming true, and his tail wagged excitedly again for just the briefest moment before it got in control again. When the human finally got to his boots he looked up blushing at his once boyfriend and was met with just uncaring eyes.
“Lick it."
The human did, very lightly and stopped.
“Harder." The wolf grunted, his sheathe now slowly tenting.
He did it again, with more tongue. The boots were surprisingly clean, polished and it taste well leathery. The human just sighed internally again, wondering how this was a turn on for the dumb pup but going along with it for him. He thought he was done then the foot moved this team and the top went into to his mouth. He gagged a little and tried to look up at the wolf but it was impossible with his restraints and his angle was too close.
“Good pup. Unf." Hunter directed him to his other boot, and the human this time just did it without hesitation. It went one for almost a minute before the wolf directed him to stop.
“Get up."
“I-I can't." He spluttered, the restraint prevent him, but the wolf growled at him and he remembered. “S-Sir."
“Alright, I'll adjust your cuffs a bit but you're have to get naked then."
“Wha huh?" The human spluttered.
The wolf stood up and pulled Chase up to a standing position. “Might as well get your out of your clothes while you're being uncuffed, a bitch doesn't get to wear clothes." He murmured, almost sweetly his placid face not matching with what he's saying.
The human blushed as the wolf unfastened his belt, then his underwear, carefully laying them to one side, very delicate. His semi-erect cock was twitching as the wolf stared at it hungrily. Then he shook himself and stood back up, towering over him. Chase gaped at how big that bulge was now, it was massive up close, the outline of the wolf's shaft snaking out the left leg. The wolf grinned at the human's astonished look and gave him a proud smile. “You ain't seen nothing yet pup, I've grown quite a bit since I was a teenager. Now back to me, you're half naked so don't try anything funny." He was very serious on this point not wanting the earlier incident to occur again.
Chase also did not want that to happen again and just turned his back to the sheriff. He thought he would be get his cuffs unlocked but instead he felt the beast slide along his bad, his cuffed hand palming that fat bulge, he gulped as their size. They were firm and felt like very large apples or small melons. He could barely manage to get both hands around one of them. The wolf just continued to hump the man's back, rubbing his scent all over him.
“Good pup." The voice rasped, and then Chase's hands were unlocked.
He only had them off for a moment but the wolf already pounced on his suit, shucking them off with ease and then unbuttoning his shirt. No wiggle room whatsoever. The human was now completely naked and couldn't help but feel exposed, like that night at prom. The nerves getting to him and making him shake. The wolf noticed this and placed his hands of the man's chin, angled it up and whispered.
“I've got you. You're mine understand? Only mine, no one else gets to see this." He said it in the most confident dominant voice he could muster and that set his mind at ease for the moment. He turned to the wolf's calm deep blue eyes and nodded.
“That's a good boy, but you're going back in cuffs."
That sent shivers down his body again but the wolf knew what to do this time. With his paw still on the human he brought his muzzle down to meet the man's. Their first kiss in a decade reigniting many feelings. It was passionate and gentle and Chase couldn't help but melt into it. Slowly the wolf's hand retreated, their lips locked for what felt like eternity, he didn't even notice when his hands were cuffed again. The clanks did send him shivering, almost wanted to pull back but the giant would have none of that. He wraps his huge paws around the humans head and began to push that large flat tongue deep into his captive.
The human gagged a little, it was just so big and wet and tasted so familiar. His mind was melting at the contact, his tiny mouth breached and stretching from the invader. It penetrated to the back of his throat before retreating a bit, searching out the human's smaller counter part. They locked there and the wolf rumbled, then his bigger tongue wrestled the human's smaller one in submission, pushing it to the roof of his mouth as it fanned out wider, nearly its entirety in Chase's mouth now. Hunter just speared and probed every nook, every corner, under the tongue, out to cheeks from side to side- tasting every inch of the human's mouth before at least it pulled out, a trail of spit forming between their two tongues.
Chase was in a daze, his cock fully erect now. He stared down and could see the wolf's member was also straining his pants.
“Oh your knees boy, you're gonna be worshiping at the altar of this tonight." He said, gesturing to his swelling bulge, the cuffed hands did make it look like Chase was in meditation.
Chase got to his knees and swallowed as the wolf slowly went back to his seat. He tentatively palmed the bulge and the wolf groaned, that fat shaft twitching and throbbing at the contact.
“It ain't gonna work itself bitch. Take it out." Hunter commanded.
It didn't take much convincing for Chase, he got to the task, when he made the mistake of getting too close to the belt the wolf just swatted him hand away and shook his finger.
“No touching the belt boy."
“Sorry s-sir."
“Do it again and I might have to discipline you." He threatened idly.
The human got to unzipping his pants, it was opening was quite large, almost as if custom made to fit the wolf's package. He cupped the ball and slowly pulled each fat orb out, the perfect ovals flopping and hanging down low now that it was free of its confines.
“Now for the last touch." He wolf grunted.
Chases two hands went into the pants and fished out the semi hard shaft of meat and marveled at it's size.
“Get it hard, work it good."
He didn't need much encouragement to start, his tongue still lingering with the wolf's spit began lapping at the red pillar. Hunter's cock took it's time to get fully hard, the blood had to travel and fill that beast. The man kissed a growing vein as it spidered along the shaft's length. He licked up and up and up till he reached the glands, it was slightly pointed but also fat. He tongued it for a bit, coating the meat length until the wolf pushed him back down.
“Like what you see bitch?" The wolf growled, and the human took in the full view of that massive meat. He gulped, damn the wolf really grew a lot since they last left. It was incomparable to any other canine he'd been with and those balls overshadowed Jackson's. The cock itself was as long as his forearm, reaching the top most row of the wolf's abs and thicker than a cock can and that wasn't even including the knot. That thick piece was terrifying, easily larger than two softballs at the base of his shaft. The cock was also very veiny and leaking like a faucet. The human tried to grip the cock and watched as it took both hands to encircled the monster..
“Gonna put this in you boy, and you're gonna enjoy it." The wolf got up and put his hand behind Chase's head, positioning his cock to fuck the man's mouth.
“I know yer' not gonna fit it all the way but I'll give yer a grade for how deep you can handle." And began pushing slowly, patiently in the man's mouth. The human gagged a couple of times, needing to pause but the wolf never retreated, instead waiting for the man to adjust before pushing in deeper. It was just too much for Chase and he stopped after just the first few inches. The girth was too much for his poor mouth.
“Tch, disappointing." The wolf muttered, although his rock hard cock and his tail was wagging just the briefest. “I'm gonna enjoying training you to take more of this..." He added in a lower tone, a whisper and a promise, half expecting the human to not be able to hear him. “Humph, you get a D-, passable but nothing special." He got his python back into the human's mouth and began fucking it a bit more aggressively, never moving past his limit but always teetering. Chase's cock was hard at this man handling and it leaked as his throat was being savaged. He taste fluid leaking into his mouth and thought for a moment the wolf had came but it was just the pre-cum and it flowed heavy.
Eventually though the wolf stopped, and pulled out his spit soaked cock from the battered human's lips. It was lubed but not enough. He growled and saw the cabinet with the lube.
“Get yourself ready pup, I'm gonna pummel you with my pup maker til you break." He strolled to the cabinet and pulled out the lube. He squeezed nearly half the content all over that meat pillar, slathering every inch of it til it had a polished sheen.
The profile view of the tower wolf lubing that massive meat that jutted out of his midsection was terrifying and exhilarating. Chase just stared dumbly at the bat like appendage and it pulsed, standing perfectly parallel to the ground. The wolf was still in his full uniform, only his meaty pillar and large balls exposed. He got to the human and ordered him to turn around. The man could only dumbly accept the command. He felt a thick finger probing him, already lubed up and gasp at the sensation. The invader was thick and he felt like it could reach his prostate if he just angled it right.
“Eager little slut aren't you?" The wolf shoved two fingers, then three. Each felt like a cock stretching him. The stretching took several minutes and Chase groaned at the pain and pleasure of it. He thought he was done when something else probed it, Hunter's huge tongue lunged into his depths and Chase's legs went weak. The appendage dexterously diving into his hole, the wolf made several motions with his tongue, lying it flat then folding it into a tube and repeating it and his muzzle moved back and forth, a predator hunger in that low murmur. The wolf's tongue was wet with spit and saliva, his expert tonguing made it felt like he was already getting fucked. Hunter give the hole one last rimming before he withdrew.
Suddenly the wolf dragged his and threw him into the sofa, lying on his stomach. Chase tried to catch his breath only for the wolf to put his weight on the smaller human. His hot breath on his neck.
“Beg for it."
He gulped.
“S-Sir?"
“If you want it I want to hear you begging for it. Scream it out for the wolf to hear." The wolf whispered. He licked the length of the man's neck and then nibbled an ear. His hand fondling the human's body. One of which pinch his nipple, the other stroking the man's erection.
Chase swallowed his pride, whatever was left of it anyways.
“Sir, please fuck me with your cock."
“Louder."
“Sir I need your fat cock inside me. Make me yours!" He blushed profusely.
“LOUDER."
“Sir please shove your monster cock inside me! BREED YOUR BITCH SIR!" His ear blood red from the lewd talk.
“That's what I like to hear boy, and since you've been so good I'll grant your wish." He took both hands away from stimulating the human and got him into a proper doggie position. The wolf lined up that third leg at Chase's sloping entrance. He felt the lube again, coating Hunter's shaft and his entrance. He waited with bated breath and the large wolf walked slowly forward, arms akimbo and moving forward.
“Aggh oh fuck." He panted. “Oh my god!"
“The only God tonight is me bitch." Hunter declared, and walked forward again plunging another inch.
When he finally managed to get most of his cock in, Chase was sweating with exertion. He quietly begged the wolf not to move, to adjust to his size but the wolf had other ideas.
“You're gonna have to do better than that." The big wolf growled and pulled out of the now gasping human. “Ohh fuck!" But before he could complete his sentence the wolf already pushed back in. His pace was controlled and merciless, like a piston going in and out, int and out. Chase was frothing at the corner, slowly drooling from the relentless and steady pace, muttering incoherently from being out of breath. Hunter just grinned, his tail manic with glee and he no longer needed to hide it from the forward facing human.
“I'm gonna get serious now, hold on tight!" Then wrapped his body around the smaller human's and proceeded to get the best leverage he could. Then absolutely railed Chase, growling and muttering to himself as he thrust in and out. Moaning at the tightness and how good the human felt.
“Shit you're a tight little slut!" The groaned and picked up the pace. The wolf reached out to grab something the human not noticing but soon finding out what it was. Hunter shoved a piece of cloth in the human's face and he could only breath that instead of catching his breath. Jackson's underwear! He gasped into the musky underwear. Hunter was pummeling the human's prostate into submission and he did it with glee and gusto. Their pace was constantly and Hunter's body was on top of his.
The wolf grabbed the back of his head and shoved his face into the underwear and his hips help push the man's face deeper into the musky cloth. Their pace was getting irregular, Chase feeling his cock throbbing from the sensation and on the verge of cumming. He could feel the big wolf groaning in pleasure.
“Oh god, I'm close bitch get ready!" The dominant growl was wavering but it held. Hunter ground that huge knot against the human' entrance always teasing but not entering. Their labored breaths left vapor in the cool night air but they body heat keeping them warm. The giant wolf's fur only added to the feeling.
The wolf's fat cock was stretching that hole wide open and like a dam about to break the human shot his load all over the sofa. It was the most powerful ejaculation he'd ever experience, his oxygen replaced with musk and his prostate constantly tormented to exhaustion. He came for fifteen seconds straight and would've flopped to the floor if not for Hunter who kept at it, thrusting wildly and making some other noises, a few not so dominant.
“Oh fuck I'm coming! Get ready!" With one final thrust the wolf hilted the human, all the way till the anus met resistance at the knot, too large to enter. They both let out deep howls, echoing into the air as Hunter emptied a torrent of cum deep into him, the pulsing felt like he was growing and shrinking half an inch with every pulse. Chase could swear he felt a bulge in his stomach growing. He didn't know how long the wolf lasted but he lost count. He shivered. The both of them exhausted in their aftermath and their bodies spasming, making accidental thrusts.
Imagine if the wolf had knotted you.
He shuddered as the wolf rested him to the side. He felt the big male licking him tenderly, nibbling at his neck. And as he drifted into a slumber he could swear he heard the wolf say something.
“Don't leave again."
