Half-Blood Chapter LIII
Chapter LIII- A Date to Remember pt 1 (So it Starts)
Lucas let out a sigh as he woke up next to Ian, they had made love several times throughout the night before they eventually fell asleep. He snuggled into the wolf's chest and leaned into the other boy's chest, listening to his heartbeat. Hearing it calmed him, he did this for several minutes before he felt Ian stir and smile a sleepy smile at the fox, before leaning down to kiss him.
“Good morning babe, did you sleep well?" Ian asked Lucas, who smiled and nodded as he buried his head in the crook of Ian's neck. “Last night was amazing, my balls still hurt," the wolf said in a cheeky manner as he kissed the fox once again, causing Lucas to blush and he felt a stirring in his sheath as he remembered how many times the wolf had bred him, which made Ian chuckle as he felt it against his stomach. “That turns you on huh? As much as I'd love to pound you right now my balls really are dry, I'd just be shooting blanks and that wouldn't be fun." Lucas pouted, but nodded all the same, his ass was kinda sore so he probably couldn't handle another pounding.
“I understand, so what do you want to do? Should we go see if the rest of the gang is up? Erin and Greg have their date today, so maybe we should try and help him out?" Lucas suggested genty, while he knew he didn't really have a say in who Erin dated, he certainly approved of it being Greg who he thought highly of. He was also glad that the tiger was starting to do his own thing. He was honestly proud of him, the tiger was truly a good guy and he really needed to give himself more credit. He felt Ian chuckle and he looked up at him.
“Yeah, we probably should. Greg is completely hopeless when it comes to his own issues. It's amazing how he can do so many things so well. He can cook, clean and is an expert earth mage. He's also a master of a few forms of martial arts which he picked up during his Guardian training. Just in case something like what happened at the funeral occurred, where those Hunters tried that magic-cancelling field, so they can still fight even if they can't use their magic," Ian explained gently as he petted the fox's head, making Lucas give a pleased murr. “But he has absolutely no social skills, which is why he tends to scare people who meet him, and while that helps in his duty as my Protector, I don't think he likes the fact people are scared of him when he isn't trying to be intimidating," Ian continued, shaking of his head.
“Yeah he does look a bit scary when you meet him, I know I was kinda scared of him, but knowing him better I know he's a good guy." As he said this, Lucas snuggled up to Ian once again. “I know he'll treat Erin well, and she does like him a lot, so if things do get serious I would have no problem having him as my brother-in-law." Ian nodded, as he looked down towards him.
“Speaking of brother's what do you think of Akira? I mean besides the fact he's your brother, what do you think of him as a person?" Lucas just shrugged lightly, what was there to say? Akira was his brother and even though he didn't know him quite well, only knowing him for a few days, he could tell Akira was a good person.
“He seems nice, I can tell he's a good person and that's all that really matters. He's my brother and I love him, and I can't wait to get to know him better and given he is gonna stay with us, that will be a benefit." Ian smiled and nodded.
“What about that Beau guy? He's certainly something. I mean, he serves a Native God and you don't hear many of those anymore, I honestly thought almost all of them had died out during the colonization of North America," Ian said, before frowning. “As much as I hate to say it, our kind wasn't much kinder to the natives than our mundane counterparts. Of course, we know now how horrible the crimes we did were, a lot of the native mages died during the colonization and when a god loses all their followers they vanish and fade into oblivion. So as more natives died, more gods faded and far as I know only a few remain. But it's cool that he is a rune mage like you."
“Yeah, I hope to learn a lot from him. I got lucky breaking the runes of the anti-magic field, if Lysander hadn't trained me I wouldn't have been able to do it," Lucas admitted in an honest tone. “I have a lot more to learn, I still don't know much about magic and I still have little idea how mage society works."
“You've progressed pretty far though, and we'll get you more tuned into mage society as we go. It's really not that different than mundane society, we just have a lot of tradition bullshit ingrained into us, we live a lot longer than mundanes so we are slower to change, but there is a massive cultural gap between the elders and the youth like how there is a divide with mundanes between our generation and our grandparents' generation really." Ian said with a shrug. “The Clan thing can be tricky, but you can just think of them as massive interconnected families living under one surname. For example, there are me, my parents, and grandparents. My grandpa and grandma had three children: my dad, my aunt and my uncle. My aunt married into the Tiernay Clan and her son is my cousin, but he is part of the Tiernay Clan not the Mansfield Clan. And my uncle died before he had any children so his line died out."
Lucas gave an affirming nod, he did remember hearing that Ian's uncle had died in the same attack that decimated the Moore Clan all those years ago, an entire Clan almost completely wiped out in a single night. He could only imagine the terror that befall the other clans that night. “I believe Richard and Curt mentioned about some Clan members being of lower status than others, what does that mean exactly?" Lucas asked as he started to get up out of bed, feeling they had lazed around enough, Greg was undoubtedly already up and probably doing the morning chores, and Lucas figured it would be nice to help the tiger with them.
“It's simple really, those who are closest in relation to the current head, for example my grandfather, are considered higher status, those who are farther from his bloodline are considered lower," Ian said with a mild shrug. “I don't really prescribe to the inner-Clan class system, I find it stupid. We are all part of the Clan after all," he said as he got up himself. “But let's shower and find Greg, he's going to be hopeless on his own." Lucas laughed as he found his clothes and put his underwear back on. As he did this he sensed to see if anyone was in the downstairs area and he found it was empty, everyone must have been upstairs.
The two exchanged a kiss before rushing to the shower and after a quick shower, they got dressed and went upstairs to the dining room area, where he saw Jordan sitting at the head of the table with Xander, Richard, Jonah and Akira. Erin wasn't there, but Lucas guessed she was still in her room, but he didn't see Greg. He also noticed that Agent Wallace was missing as well. Akira was the first person to notice them and he smiled brightly as he did so.
“Good morning you guys!" he said, waving at them. “Was wondering when you guys would get out of bed?" he teased in lighthearted manner, making Lucas blush in response as he sat down next to him, and Ian sat down next to Richard, who seemed to be listening to some music given he was wearing headphones. Jordan himself had his laptop in front of him and was doing something work-related, Lucas guessed given the sharp look of concentration on his face. Xander and Jonah were playing another game of cards with Xander seeming to be the one winning, giving the irritated look on the dingo which made Lucas chuckled a bit.
He then began looking at Agent Wilson who was not sitting at the table with the rest of the group, but instead sitting at his own table drinking some tea and doing some reports. Lucas hated to admit it, but he wasn't really sure what he felt about the raccoon, while he certainly trusted Agent Wilson, the raccoon just seemed to keep his distance and preferred to watch them instead of actively engaging them like his partner did. Though Lucas wasn't sure if that was because that was how he usually was or because he was working away from his family for a long period of time. Lucas noticed the golden wedding band on his finger and he remembered that, like Agent Wallace, he was a father himself.
After looking at the raccoon, he then shifted his attention to Richard. “Hey, do you know where Greg is? And Agent Wallace for that matter?" The wolf's ears twitched as he took one of the earphone jacks out and regarded Lucas in a confused manner.
“Say again?"
“I asked where Greg and Agent Wallace are? They aren't here and I don't sense them anywhere, are they running errands?" Lucas asked again, very curious as to why Greg left the house without Ian.
“Oh, they went to meet up with Tyler, Greg asked for his number from Xander and they decided to meet up for something, not really sure," Richard said as he shrugged and put his earphone back, starting to bob his head to the music again. This fact really caught Lucas by surprise, why would Greg seek out Tyler of all people? Lucas wasn't sure how many words had been exchanged by the two, but he was sure it wasn't that many since Greg mostly ignored everyone besides Ian in the school. Jonah was the one who caught the glimpse of the fox and gave a small smile, which looked slightly more homicidal than usual… he must have been in a bad mood since he kept on losing?
“Stripes just wanted to talk to the giant about something, said it was personal and nobody's 'bloody goddamn business' in his exact words," Jonah said with a dark chuckle. “So for all we know, they are having this conversation on muscle heads fucking, which I highly doubt is the case, or just talking about their muscles," he said, before glaring at Xander.
“Dammit! Why are you so good at this?! It's not fair," Jonah pouted as Xander once again showed a winning hand. The fox just gave him a wink that made Jonah a tiny bit flustered, which Lucas honestly found cute. At least the dingo had chilled out some over the term of his stay, but he had a feeling they would be stuck with him for awhile. Lucas let out a tired sigh and got up and asked what everyone wanted for breakfast. After getting everything set together, he went off to the kitchen to prepare the meal, being quite hungry himself.

Greg just stared at the entrance of the fancy-looking gates that led to a massive mansion. It was even bigger than the manor the Mansfield's lived in and Greg couldn't help but be impressed by the sheer size. It was clear that the Thorne family had done very well for themselves, but given they ran one of the largest shipping magnates in the entire country seemed to help in that regard. He heard the bear next to him let out an impressed whistle, probably not expecting that the house would be as big.
“Well damn, I always heard the Thorne Family was rich but I didn't think they were this rich, you said you are classmates with their youngest right? Tyler wasn't it?" Greg just nodded, too focused on keeping the bubbling feeling in his stomach. Was he really going to do it? He knew the giant of a wolf and Erin had dated for a bit and the breakup was amiable but was he really going to just waltz on up to the other boy's home and ask him for advice on how best to handle a date with Erin? Well, guess he was… it couldn't hurt, could it? He wanted this date to go well and he would hate it if things went wrong because he had no idea what he was doing. The pair stood there for several moments before he saw a very tall figure walk towards them, a grey-furred giant wearing a simple hoodie and jeans approaching with a bright smile.
Thorne was a hulking young man, and he honestly intimidates the tiger a tiny bit. While the boy was a mundane and his empathy gift gave him no boost in combat, the fact he was an undisputed master of several forms of kung-fu made him an opponent Greg never hoped to face even with his own significant strength and martial skills (the martial arts training he was trained under were actually created by Arlen Mansfield himself and it made Scottish Protectors as well as the UK-SGC some of the strongest mages on the planet in non-magical combat, something many mages sadly neglected, leaving them almost completely helpless in a situation where they couldn't use it. He was truly grateful that Lucas managed to destroy that field as the funeral attack could have gotten a lot uglier if none of the mages were able to fight, but the fact that the hunters managed to not only figured out how to create an anti-magic medallion, but managed to create one that activated without the person having a gift was greatly distressing. He wondered if that was a recent thing, but hopefully with the Council having knowledge of this, it would allow them to make a counter to it. His focus was, however, broken when he heard the gates open and the wolf stepped out.
“Hey, you called me and said you wanted to ask me some things? What is on your mind Moore? We've never really talked much, but it's still unexpected that you just asked me out of the blue for advice." Greg blushed, though it was a good question. He still didn't understand why he was so timid on this, but he decided to push forward and get this over with.
“I just wanted to ask you for advice Thorne," Greg explained. “Um… personal advice, I've decided to actually listen to Ian for once and try to have my own live stuff, but sadly I'm woefully inexperienced with matters not pertaining to my training," Greg continue, his voice sheepish as he rubbed the back of his head in an awkward manner. Thorne just nodded and smiled as he opened the gate to let both him and Agent Wallace in.
“I'll do my best to help man," he said to Greg, before giving Agent Wallace a look. “Oh, and good to see you again Agent Wallace, I've met your father, he's a good man. I was going to get some breakfast, you guys interested?" he asked as he started walking towards his massive house. Greg nodded, as he felt his stomach groan in hunger, he had skipped breakfast so he was quite hungry and he smiled as he heard Agent Wallace's own stomach groan. The two followed the wolf into the house and Greg was stunned at just how nice the entrance room was. The entire room was gleaming it was so clean. They continued following him and after a few turns they found themselves in a massive and extremely elaborate dining room that honestly looked more like a restaurant than a simple dining area. There was a massive table made of what looked like the finest mahogany and he saw a few other people sitting around the table, Thorne's brothers, he remembered them from the funeral. One of them noticed the strangers and raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, did you bring some new friends for breakfast Ty? Where is that cutie fox?" Thorne just rolled his eyes at that.
“Shut up Trey, I'm still pissed at you for snooping on Xander and I," the older wolf that spoke was the second of the three older siblings, if Greg remembered correctly.
“I said I was sorry, you should have locked the door, or hell, since he was a mage have him cast a silencing spell." Thorne just growled, but yet another wolf spoke up, this one wearing a pair of stylish glasses and he seemed to be the eldest of the brothers.
“Behave you two, we have guests," the man said, before he turned to smile at Greg and the agent. “My apologies, it's good to see you again Moore. Nice to see you outside something as grim as a funeral. How is Master Mansfield doing?"
“Ian is doing fine, better than ever actually. He's really enjoying Canada which is nice," Greg stated as he rubbed his stomach. “But you guys were going to eat breakfast, would it be an issue if me and Agent Wallace joined you? We didn't get breakfast for ourselves before we left." The eldest wolf laugh as he pointed towards two empty chairs.
“Go ahead and sit down, Ty can show you how we choose your breakfast, is that okay with you Ty?" the eldest wolf said, eyeing his brother who just shrugged and sat the duo down. After making sure they were comfortable enough he sat himself down and pointed towards a tablet-like device embedded onto the table. “If you use this you can choose just about any type of breakfast food and our chefs will fix it for you," Thorne said as he sat down at his own seat. Greg was curious at what the wolf said so he tapped on the tablet and instantly it booted up and loaded to the breakfast section and Greg was amazed by the sheer selection of food available. He had never seen so much variety, but deciding to keep it simple, he selected some eggs, bacon and toast and once he selected, he got a message showing the amount of time it would take to get his food out and he stared simply amazed.
“This is pretty impressive," Greg stated as he looked at the tablet. “Do you guys do this for everyday?" Greg asked his classmate who just nodded and smiled.
“Yeah, we all have different tastes in foods and could never really agree on anything so our parents decided to put in a system where we can all choose our own dinners and the cooks will fix it up for us. We actually have chefs that come to work under us to train under our head chef. Most of them come from the cooking school so this is usually one of the first jobs they take after graduation," Tyler said with a shrug as he tapped down his own food order.
“That's incredible, must be nice having so many people to do your cooking for you, my wife and I share the cooking. It can get hectic given we have three children, but we make it work. So where are you parents Master Thorne? They not here?" Tyler shook his head and smiled.
“Nah, they went to have a meeting with the other high-ranking Brotherhood members. My grandfather called a meeting after the funeral attack, it took everyone by surprise and we want to make sure this never happens again, we honestly got lucky last time. If Lucas wasn't able to break that ward it would have been a lot more disastrous," Tyler said as he shook his head. “I just hope it doesn't become a situation like what's going on in Alberta. Hunter attacks are getting dangerous, especially after the slaughter of Mr. Carter's sister." Greg just nodded, he did hear about the increasing hunter attacks there. Before the arson attack of their family.
“That makes sense, there has been talk about sending some of our agents to aid the AGC in handling the situation in Alberta," Agent Wallace said as he looked towards the door and smiled. “Oh hey, looks like the food is here!" he said as several furs dressed in white came in with a cart filled with covered plates. Without saying anything, the group placed the plates on the table. After doing so they left and Greg took off the lid and his stomach growled as he saw the food on the plate, it was exactly what he ordered and it smelled delicious and he swiftly took a bite and smiled at how good it tasted. It wasn't on Lucas' level but Greg didn't think many people could get to be on his level since Lucas was a spectacular cook.
“So, what do you want to ask me about?" Thorne said between bites of his own food.
“I just wanted to ask you how you handle dates, I… asked Erin out and we are going on a date today and I have no idea what to do, I want things to work out," Greg said, blushing a bit. “Like I said, I never focused on much outside my training so I'm woefully underprepared for things like this," he continued calmly. “I want to be better though, and since I know you have experience going out with Erin I wanted to consult you…" Greg said, looking at the wolf, his eyes focused.
“Ah, so is that why you decided to come to me?" Thorne smiled as he placed his head on his paw. “Let's finish breakfast and I'll help you out." Greg nodded and he swiftly wolfed down his food before he waited for Tyler to finish his own and once he did, he took Greg up to his room and once again, Greg was impressed at the size of the room. The wolf settled down at a couch and tapped the seat next to him, which Greg took. “So, what questions do you want to ask man? You are a pretty cool guy yourself so what makes you think you need my advice for anything?" Greg just sighed and shook his head, looking down towards his feet, and feeling incredibly awkward at that moment.
“People are scared of me, even when I don't try to be, and if I tried approaching most girls they would probably run away. Erin is different though, she isn't afraid of me and she actually seems to like me and that means a lot. I just want to keep that going honestly. You are popular, and I don't think many people are scared of you like they are of me. I want to be like that, intimidation is handy when it comes to my duty, but it's not so fun when people who are around you recoil in fear.." Greg said as he shook his head in frustration. “Ian has told me for years that I need to be myself more, but it's been so long I don't really know what my true self is? It's frustrating, I entered service as a Protector so I could make my Clan proud and follow through with their tradition, but sometimes when I lay in bed for the night, I feel like I lost something during that and I don't know what is was, and that frustrates me so much." Thorne just nodded, not saying anything, contenting himself on just listening to his friend speak.
“You could say you lost your innocence? You were trained to be able and willing to kill and even die to protect your master since you were just a child, plus if I hear it correctly Scotland has some of the most brutal training for Guardians on the planet, at least that's what Allison told me, she seemed oddly proud about that," Thorne said with a laugh and even Greg couldn't help but give out a tiny smile, Allison being the reincarnation of Arlen Mansfield, the man who came up with the training itself, it almost figured that she would be proud given how she was.
“How long have you known Allison is well..,?" Greg stated, not sure exactly what to refer to her as, Channeler was what she called herself, but it was still a strange concept to think about.
“Ah, how long I've known she was a zhongsheng de buxiu? Since before I met her really, all Brotherhood members are informed when Allison gets reborn and awakens. You see, she wasn't born with all the memories of her past life unlocked, she was born as just a normal little girl. In fact, most of her past lives were starting puberty when their memories awakened, but Allison herself awoke to her abilities at a very young age, she was only five years old. I was around 7 when my own empathy gift had awoken a bit before then, so I was in isolation until I managed to get my gift under control to where I wouldn't go insane." Greg nodded, he had always heard that empaths, both the emotional and physical kinds, and telepaths had among the hardest gifts to manage because there was a risk a person could be overwhelmed by their gift and wind up going insane, but with the advent of mental wards being created that didn't require magic made things easier for them.
“It must have been rough, dealing with all that as a child. Feeling the emotions of everyone around you, are any of your brothers gifted or is it just you?" Thorne simply leaned back and smiled before speaking, the smile seeming almost smug.
“Nah, I'm the only one with an actual gift, it always pissed my brother Trey off that I got to be special and he didn't, but he simply resolved to surpass me in martial arts and honestly to this day I've never been able to beat him in a match." Thorne laughed as he said this, seemingly reliving fond memories. “I met Allison when I was about ten though, and I've always liked her. She might not seem like it, but she does have a soft heart when you get underneath the cold exterior. It seems Mansfield… the younger one, seemed to get to that and I'm happy for him."
“So um… have you and Allison ever…?" Greg asked, honestly curious, though he was sure he was getting a bit too nosy, but the wolf didn't seemed.
“Fuck? Oh, of course, a few times. I'm a guy, she's a girl, it happens, but it was never anything serious. Once you've lived as many lifetimes as she has, you don't get hung up on stuff like sex and well, she was a cute girl and again I was a teenage boy," he said with a shrug. “Erin however I did like a lot, but we both agreed that we were better off as friends, so we broke things off. But seems she got interested in you, have to warn you though, she's a bit of a firecracker." Greg blushed at that. “You got condoms right? I can provide you some." Greg balked at that, which made Thorne laugh even harder. “Oh don't give me that look." Greg just stared down at his feet again, feeling awkward, the thought of sex did catch his mind, but he didn't want to seem so forward. Thorne just laughed and patted him on the back. “Don't be embarrassed dude, you are a man right? Besides, if I know Erin, she'll make the first move anyway so best be prepared."
“If you say so… any idea where Erin might want to go? I'm still getting used to the area really, so I don't know where everything is still." Thorne seemed to tap his chin for a bit before snapping his fingers cheerfully.
“If I didn't know better, Erin would take you to Indigo Palace. It's literally the best japanese restaurant in the entire city and it's owned by the Takahara family. Allison took Mansfield there I believe. It was her favorite spot to eat when we were going out, so you shouldn't have to worry about dressing too fancy, so how about it? Should I go ahead and give you those condoms?" Greg blushed once again, but nodded meekly, he really hoped he wasn't being too forward with this. “But in all honesty Moore, just be yourself, it's why Erin likes you. Just be yourself and just have fun for once. Be a normal teenager and not the badass bodyguard. If it helps, I'll go over and watch Ian so you can be at ease that someone is looking over your master while you have fun, I got nothing else to do really and I been wanting to hang out with Xander."
“I would like that, thanks Thorne for your advice, it was helpful." The wolf just chuckled and took the tiger's paw to shake it.
“Same to you Moore, but call me Tyler alright? I hate being called by my last name." Greg just smirked and nodded.
“I will if you call me Greg for now on, I don't know if it's because I'm so used to Ian being so plainspoken despite his position, but excessive formality annoys me." Tyler laughed at that and even Greg grinned, it drove the elder members of the clan crazy at how informal Ian was, but he figured that might have been a large part of why he was like that. So he could stick it to the elders. Greg still got odd looks because he was so informal with Ian, but the wolf would literally have it no other way. The two then shook paws, sealing their agreement as men.
…
True to Tyler's word, he did leave with them, telling his brothers he was going to hang out with Xander tonight, causing Trey to let out some wolf-whistles which made Greg chuckle a tiny bit, he found the interactions between the siblings charming, but at the same time it made his blood boil… his mother had been pregnant with a child when she was burned by the hunters, a sibling he would never get to meet. Would he be as close with that child as Ian was with Rich? Would things have been easier for him if he had at least some other remnant of his Clan? He hated being the only living member of the Moore Clan, and while he had his aunts, they had married into other Clans, making him the only person to hold the Moore name. It was so much pressure knowing the fate of his clan rested solely on him.
“You alright Greg?" he heard Tyler ask, which shook the tiger from his trance.
“I'm fine, just was thinking of something. You ready Tyler?" he said with a grin and the wolf nodded, and they and Agent Wallace left the opulent mansion and got into the car and drove away. Greg was just staring out of the window thinking on things. Though he knew it was pointless to dwell on what could have been, it just still bugged him. He was once again broken from his thoughts as Tyler gently nudged him.
“You sure you are okay, your emotions seem a bit erratic, is something on your mind?" Greg just let out a sigh, he had forgotten that the wolf was an empath, so of course he would be able to sense his emotions and see something was off, even if he couldn't read those thoughts.
“It's nothing really, if anything it's actually pretty silly… I was just thinking on what would have changed if I wasn't the last Moore? My mother was pregnant when she was killed, I was so excited about having a little sibling as Richard had just been born a few months prior and I couldn't wait to be a big brother. If she had given birth would my sibling have been a boy or girl? My Dad had two sisters who survived the slaughter since they weren't there during the attack, but they had already married or were getting ready to be married. What's a bit fucked up is that if my dad had decided to wait and go with Jordan and Rebecca, Ian and Richard's parents, he would probably still be alive today."
“It must have been hard losing your parents so young, do you remember much from them? How old were you when that happened?" Tyler asked, placing a reassuring paw on the tiger's shoulder.
“I wasn't even two… and sadly, I really don't remember much, I remember my mom used to keep a garden and she had a greenthumb and could make anything grow given enough time, I actually have some plants in my room I take care of, she inspired me to keep that up and my room back home in Scotland is full of various plants, but since I'm gone other members of the staff are taking care of it for me," Greg said in a mildly homesick tone. He really missed the verdant hills of Scotland and he couldn't wait until they were able to return home. He was a brit through and through. “I don't remember much of my dad, he was living with Jordan since he was his Protector so I didn't see him everyday, but my mother would always bring me up to the Mansfield home so I could play with Ian and Richard and her and Rebecca could have a cup of tea and chat. But the thing I always hear was that my dad was a very kind man."
“Seems like it was a massive loss that you never got to know him as well huh?" Tyler said, his voice sympathetic. “I'm lucky enough to have both my parents and I'm so grateful for that, but I still know that one day they will die and will be sent to the underworld where I will follow them one day. But having them taken from me when I was just a toddler? I don't even want to think of that. But even then I had my brothers, as much as we fight, we love each other and will always have each others' back… and you have that with Ian and his brother, they might not be biologically your brothers, but I bet at the back of your mind Ian isn't your master, but your brother am I correct?" Greg couldn't help but nod, it really was how he felt. Though he tried to keep that part lowkey so he could remain at least somewhat professional in his role, Ian and Richard were really his little brothers who he would do anything for. Even without it being instilled in him, he would have gladly died for them because, Protector or not, he was the 'big brother' and thus is was his job to protect the younger ones. He truly understood why Lucas was so protective of his precious sister and he swore he would never do anything that would risk the fox's wrath in regards to her.
Finally, the two pulled into the Mansfield's house and when they stepped out, they were quickly greeted by Ian and Richard.
“There you are, how was your trip?" Ian asked the tiger with a smile, before giving a polite acknowledgement towards the grey-furred wolf who waved before looking around.
“Is Xander here? I was planning on looking after you as a favor to Greg, but I was hoping to hang out with him also?"
“Oh, his grandfather called him and Lucas to him for training, his grandpa is an elf called Lysander. From what Xander said, the man said he felt they needed more training since they got lucky during the funeral attack," Ian said with a shrug, before smiling all the same at Tyler. “But that's really cool that you are willing to do that for Greg, it will definitely help put his mind at ease for the day," he said with a laugh, before becoming serious. “But what are you waiting for? You still got to get ready, Erin has been locked in her room all morning getting gussied up for you so you can't just show up to her dressed like that!" he said, gesturing to Greg's simple shirt, light jacket and jeans he was wearing, he had truly just thrown them on so he wouldn't waste too much time, but Ian was correct. He couldn't go like this, Erin was putting a lot of effort to look nice for him, so it was only fair that he would do the same for her.
One perk of being raised by the Mansfield's is not only did Jordan and Rebecca treat him more like a third son rather than a simple employee, they made sure his wardrobe was just as nice as their actual children's and given the Mansfield Clan was OBSCENELY rich, he had no shortage of nice clothes to wear, so with a wave he rushed downstairs to check his wardrobe. Rushing past Jordan and Agent Wilson, who never seemed to leave the wolf's side which was mildly funny, and then past Jonah, soon enough he found himself in his room where he quickly chose a very nice dress-shirt and a pair of dress pants. He then ran to the bathroom and as soon as he was in, he began to strip, but just as he was about to drop his drawers he heard a whistle which made him jump and turn to see Beau sitting on the side of the shower, a place he had most certainly NOT been just a few seconds earlier. They really needed to figure out a way to make these wards rune-proof.
“What are you doing here?" Greg demanded, his face going a bit red in embarrassment, which made the inky black fox chuckle. In all honesty, Greg still wasn't sure he could really trust Beau, but he knew that the fox had yet to cause him worry so he swallowed up his doubt.
“Just wanted to talk for a second, you are going out with my future pupil's little sister correct?" Greg just nodded, not sure what that really had to do with anything, but the fox kept on. “She knows a lot more than she lets on, you know, she just keeps it suppressed, but it's slowly tearing her apart. If you talk to her, maybe she can start her own healing." Beau then gave a teasing wink, before saying something else before he vanished. “By the way, you are pretty hot, shame you don't like other dudes because I'd be all over you myself." With that suggestive wink, he vanished out of the blue, leaving Greg flustered and red-faced for a bit before he shook his head to refocus.
“Enough, get showered and dressed." With that he did exactly what he set out to do and he eventually found himself standing in the foyer waiting for Erin to come down, Lucas and Xander still weren't back yet, but he figured the two would be back before he and Erin did. There was silence for several moments before he heard Erin's footsteps come down the stairs and when he looked up his breath was taken away, the vixen was even more beautiful than she was usually, wearing a lovely midnight blue dress with a stylish jacket and shaw to keep her warm. Greg just stared in dumbfounded silence as she walked down the stairs and smiled up at him, her eyes showing that she had put a lot of work on her eyeliner and when she spoke her voice sounded like a chorus of angels.
“You look nice Greg! So you ready to go?" Greg just gave an awkward smile as he gracefully lent his paw out to grab.
“And you look beautiful, but yes let's go. I look forward to what you may show me." And with that, the two walked out paw-in-paw and into the vehicle, Greg not taking his eyes off the beauty for a second. Was he truly allowed to be so lucky? He certainly hoped so at least, but he kept himself in control, excited for the future possibilities.
