#4 of Galactic Memory

And here is chapter two, some advancement to the series and a few fun bits through the whole thing as Cal learns the layout and features of the ship he is on.

Cal blinked as he looked at the metal ball he was given by Ren, staring down at it, then up to Ren and back to the orb again. It was a perfect silver sphere with blue circuit-like lines running across its surface and a red button on it that set into the surface instead of protruding out of it. He spun it around in his hands as it floated in the hydro tank with him, not sure about what it was he was given, with the feline smiling down at him all the while.

"Um... w-what is this exactly?"

"Well it was your acture suit. Alister and I were trying to fix the broken glass port and the other cuts and scuff marks on the suit itself, but he calculated that it would be faster to reconfigure it through our fabricator. However, since we were going to do that, I thought it would be easier for you if we used the materials to rebuild it in the more advanced model. That sphere is now your new acture suit, when you press the button it will dissolve into countless nanites to wrap over your body like a second skin to contain and filter water from the moisture in the air. Even if someone hits you, you won't have to worry about it breaking either, so what happened this time won't happen again."

The aquroc couldn't help but continue to stare at the orb in his hand as he heard that, the leirna's chuckling a little bit later is what broke him out of his stupor. He shook his head before looking back up to the feline, smiling awkwardly back at him from under the water.

"T-t-thank you Ren. I... I don't know what else to say."

"Heh, you're welcome. Now why don't you try it out, so you're not just stuck in the tank and I can show you around the ship ok?"

"Oh... uh ok."

The tiger shark-like male turned to look back down at the orb in his hand, hesitating for only a second before he pressed the red button inwards, causing a few bubbles to escape as a click echoed through the water. Instantly the lines along the orb's surface lit up and glowed as it started to hum softly, surprising Cal as it started to dissolve in his hand, turning into a silvery blob and slowly crawling up his arm. He was close to freaking out once it started, but kept himself composed once he remembered seeing this occur before at school with a rick kid who could afford to get one of these types of suits.

He watched as the mass stretched further up his arm as more of the orb disappeared from his grasp, spreading faster and faster as it continued, soon reaching his chest and stretching across and down it. It moved to his other arm and down across his belly to his waist, then further to his legs, and he managed to see the last of the orb turn into the blob before it went up his neck and over his head, covering him completely. Cal had closed his eyes as the mass had reached them, holding still for a few seconds before he opened them again.

He looked down and almost gasped as he saw the silver mass was gone, his gray and blue scales and black boxers all that he could see. He waved his webbed hands in front of him, looking over every part of his body in amusement, he could feel the suit on him, like if he were wrapping in an invisible blanket.

Amazing. I've it before, but actually wearing one... it's just so deceiving when you don't see anything.

"So this is the nano-tech version of the suit."

"Yep, it's pretty awesome ain't it? Now let's get you out of there so we can give you a tour, I'm sure you're hungry too so we can start with the kitchen next door."

~ * ~ * ~ * ~

"So, what do you think Cal?"

Cal pulled his tail free of the door to the command deck as it closed with a whoosh, standing next to the shorter feline as he thought about what he'd seen throughout the ship so far. First, they had left the guest quarters to go into the kitchen next to it so they could make a snack, using the smaller food fabricator to craft some quick sandwiches for the both of them to eat. Ren had told him that the door on the other side of the guest quarters that was beside the tank he was in lead to the bathroom area, and connected to its other side was the command deck, where they had just left.

Once they had finished eating and setting the plates aside, the leirna had shown him around the rest of the ship, walking across the hall to show him the lounge area next, which had a long black couch that ran along the wall that connect to the hall they had passed through when they first got on the ship and a large holo-screen flickering on the wall, just waiting to be tuned to something to watch. They backed out of there and then went down the hall further before going into the room next to the kitchen, where he found himself looking straight at a turret control tube, a locker full of weapons to his left, a computer to his right, and some stations for something else to either side of the turret controller.

After leaving what Ren called the "second favorite room on the ship" of his, they went straight across the hall again and into the electronics compartment, seeing a pair of computers against the opposite wall and a large cabinet right beside them. Instead of traveling further down, Ren lead him through the room and to the door on left side into a lift, which took them down to the next level. Stepping out of the door they came through, Cal then found himself in what looked like the laundry room, a non-surprisingly simple room that they walked straight through without even getting a comment about from Ren.

The room next, thought, made the scholar in him bubble up a bit as he faced a row of interchanging hydrostasis tanks and bio-beds along the wide, U-shaped wall, and later found the computer room that controlled all of the science lab equipment in the room on the opposite side of the ship from where they had entered it. He walked with Ren through another hallway, which was directly under the first, and past ladder on the wall that lead upwards to turn a corner and step through the door that was there. Again, his body shivered in surprising delight as he was shown the engineering room, finding another computer terminal immediately to his left, but to his right he found the support unit for Alister and the rest of the ship's systems.

Across from it he saw the bulky barrel of an engine that went along the length of the wall. After turning the corner of the wall that had the support unit, Cal saw the other engine across the room. He also saw his favorite part of any spaceship, a pair of mass reactors and stardrive unit for the engines. Cal couldn't help jumping forward to get a closer look at the devices that made space travel possible, staring in awe at the first ones of either device that he'd seen in person. It actually took Ren shaking him a bit to snap him out of his daydreaming so they could continue the tour.

They walked out of the door on the other side of the room, which opened across the hallway to the other side of the elevator. Ren took him back into the elevator to go back up, opening up into the electronics room again. He followed the feline through the room and back into the hallway, heading straight through the front part of the ship where they started to the very end of it, leading to the U-shaped command deck where they had just come out of.

"The ship is amazing. Zerua really make a nice choice whenever he bought this ship. Even if he says its older than both of us, it's still in remarkable shape, its clean, and Alister is the smartest and most active and helpful A.I. I've ever seen. Do all the other G.E.'s ships have computer assistants as good as him?"

"I've seen a few ships from some of the other groups, literally all of them are bigger than just the two of us, but I don't think their A.I.s are as advanced as Alister here, and for that I'm thankful. He at least makes it seem like we have a third or fourth person to our team with how well he maintains the ship and helps me out with my little projects and such."

Thank you for the compliments Ren. I'm glad I've been able to help you two like I have.

"You're welcome Alister. Now, I believe our last stop is just ahead, the cargo hold."

With a nod of acknowledgement, Cal followed the feline towards their last destination of the tour, which was at the opposite end of the hall they had been in and out of.

Wait, why have we been going around all over the place and leaving somewhere like that for last? Wouldn't it have been easier to do it before we went downstairs, going back and forth like we did? I mean, I know it's the biggest room since it's above the engineering room and all, but it still doesn-

The aquroc couldn't help but pause on disbelief at what he saw as the doors to the cargo hold opened. The area was a wide, open space, with two walls jutting inward from either side to separate the hold a bit, and at the opposite side he could see two large piston arms connected to the wall likely meant to pull it out and down to act as a loading platform. Cal also noticed a large black container next to his left, and a door that he could only assume connected to the other side of the elevator, but what really drew his attention was what was happening directly in front of him. Zerua was standing in the middle of the cargo hold, lifting a wide container crate over his head with his two upper arms while another was floating directly in front of him, both bobbing up and down in time with each other.

The young male was so shocked and in awe of the display he visibly flinched when Ren spoke up beside him.

"Hehe, smart kid like you was probably wondering why I left this area for last when we were close to it several times, and now you see why. Zerua likes to use the containers to work out with, and the few people we get as guest, I like seeing how they react when they see this. As you can see, he uses one to train physically and the other to train his starlight powers."

Cal couldn't do anything but nod dumbly in reply, his eyes staring widely in awe as he watched the soldra's muscles bulge along his arms and back as he repeatedly lifted and dropped the crate above his head. He was so focused that when the feline next to him grabbed his arm to pull him to the left, he ended up stumbling part of the way until he stopped spacing out. When he looked up again, he saw that Ren had pulled him over to stand in front of the black container. Now that he was closer to it, he could see the surface had numerous white flecks across its surface, making it look like a cut out of space itself.

"Now here is something special Z started before I even joined up with him," he started, reaching towards the middle of the container just as a section of it on the right half seemed to sink in and slide to the side to reveal a palm scanner. He placed his right palm on it and after a second the machine dinged before the whole front pushed forward and started to open up from the center, catching Cal by surprise as he and Ren both took a step back.

"Believe it or not, the box here is made of zecara, or wancalorian iron as some also call it, the hardest material in the galaxy. Z apparently found a huge chunk of it from a ship wreckage a while back and got this vault, the core of Alister's chip, and some gloves made for free as whatever was left he gave to the builder. I believe the white specks were bits of stardust from around that ship, mainly moissanite. He likes to call it the Stardust Vault but what's really important is what's inside."

Ren paused as the doors opened fully, allowing the younger male to witness what was inside the near-indestructible vault, and what Cal saw both wowed and confused him. The inside appeared to be about thirteen feet wide and nearly nine feet deep, and within was a collection of random and strange things on racks and pedestals. An angry-looking tribal mask that he recognized from the ceridne culture on Lueca, a blaster rifle with a ruptured barrel, a glass jar with dirt and little gems inside, and many other things that didn't seem to have much or any relation with one another.

"Um... what is all of this?"

Trophies kiddo.

Cal jumped as he heard Zerua in his head again, turning around and seeing the large, sweat-coated male standing right behind him, a light smirk across his snout.

"T-trophies?"

Yes, this is our trophy case if you will. A collection of little trinkets and rarities to remember past missions by.

The soldra reached in and placed his upper right hand on top of the jar of dirt and gems and his lower left pointed to a small black ball on a pillow on a short pedestal, before speaking again.

These for example are gems from the planet Nuasca, which we got as a gift after saving a small town from a group of ticefa that were out on a killing spree across the system, and that black diamond was from Earth when we happened to pass by on another rare vacation and saved one of their countries from a tsunami caused by a volcano eruption. They're both very valuable and could be sold for a quite a bit of credits, but we keep them for the sentimental value and memories they hold for us.

"Wow... so you guys really have been everywhere. Galactic Enforcers really do go all over the place, wish I were good enough to join and see all sorts of places like you guys."

"Heh, you'd be surprised how good stargazers like you are actually around us, even as a noncombatant member of a crew. In fact, I think Beleaus has four the last I recall, his pilot and quartermaster were just fragile little girls who always stayed in the ship during missions."

Cal looked to Ren as he heard that, a twitch of a smile at the corners of his snout as he stared in slight disbelief. He didn't think that there was anyone in the GE that weren't trained to be fighters like the two in front of him, regardless of how big or small a crew they had. Hearing this gave him a spark of encouragement that maybe he could go out and see the stars like he'd always wanted.

Excuse me everyone, but we are nearing the warp gate that will lead us towards Colus.

"Thank you Alister, we know what to do next."

Cal looked up after he heard Alister speak, and back to Ren once he responded. After getting from his home to the academy, he knew that when a ship went through a warp gate, everyone had to get settled, preferably strapped in a chair.

Now then, let's all head up to the front to settle in for the spectacle.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~

Cal yawned as he sat up from his tank and stretched, his back popping a few times before he looked around, seeing he was still alone in the crew quarters after going to take a nap once they were through the warp gate. He lifted himself up and stepped out of the tank, liking how his new nanite suit absorbed the water slipping on the outside so that nothing he didn't leave a puddle underneath him like his other suit did.

This is way better, now I see why people love it so much and really envy those that have one. Now, I wonder what Ren and Zerua are up to.

He turned to his left and walked through the door to the crew's bathroom, then through the door on its other side to step in the command deck to see if either of them was there, only to find it empty as well. The chairs were all facing their station and the center console was lit up with the course to his planet still. He hummed to himself in disappointment at not finding them and turned around to leave, entering the hallway and looking at the solid walls along the way.

Hmm, if they're not in there, maybe they're back in the cargo bay or downstairs... Oh! Now's my chance to go and check out more of the engineer room for the heart of the ship!

The aquroc grinned with excitement as he thought about the opportunity, rubbing his hands together before he started to walk down the hall, already imagining the things he could learn by getting a front-row seat of an active mass reactor and stardri-

"Ah!"

Cal stopped in his tracks as he heard the moan coming from his side, turning to see that it had come from the lounge on his right. He blushed as he heard it, turning to look away for a second, but his natural curiosity to learn urged him to look. The aquroc continued to blush as he stepped closer to the door, noticing that it didn't open when he was next to it like it usually would. He tried to look in from the window in the top half, but was unable to see either Zerua or Ren, instead he noticed the other door on the opposite side of the room.

That's right, the couch is right here next to this door. If they're on it, then I'll have to try looking through that door to see them.

Driven by his urge to see what was going on, Cal quietly shuffled his way down the hall and turned to go to the other door next to the airlock they first entered from. Finding it locked as well, he leaned up to peek through the window again, and what he saw made his blush burn all the harder and claspers throb and slip free of his slit. Zerua was sitting on the curved couch, a wide smirk across his face as he used his lower arms to bounce Ren in his lap... or more precisely on his thick, throbbing cock.

From this distance now, Cal couldn't hear it, but he could see the shorter leirna moaning out as he was stuffed repeatedly over the larger male's ribbed and spined shaft. What surprised him the most, though, was the metal cage around the feline's own loins, keeping him from getting hard as well, and the leash now attached to his Nexus collar connecting it to the other end being tugged on by the reptile's upper right arm. Entranced by the spectacle in front of him, the teen completely ignored the throbbing claspers between his legs and watched with rapt attention as the dragon completely dominated and used his partner, pumping that furry rump down over a cock as long as the youth's entirely forearm and hand.

He gasped as he watched the soldra suddenly lifted the leirna higher up on his length, before slamming him down on a knot that he hadn't noticed before, but was wider than his fist, locking the pair of them together on the couch. Zerua threw his head back slightly before and he lunged forward and latched his jaws around Ren's shoulder, making the feline cry out again as his cage throbbed and belly started to bloat from what Cal could only assume was the soldra's massive load.

The aquroc stared in disbelief and amazement as the leirna's belly swelled almost two inches out before it stopped, and left both males panting as Zerua let go of the other male's shoulder, each of them turning to smile at the other before they met in a deep kiss. Unable to take anymore of the sight and the pain in his loins, Cal turned and almost ran back to the crew quarters, mind racing and thoughts bouncing all around inside of his head. As he ran, his frantic mind failed to notice and hear the subtle whisper in the back of his head.

Hehe, such a cute pup.
