Part 9: The Flight to Tokyo

The ride to the airport was just under 5 miles total, so it took maybe 20 minutes to get there, riding up Beach Drive then onto Airport Road. Once there, a cocky wolfess met them as she drove the company's transport cart. “Riona? Is that you? Michel called me like ten times already! I think he thinks you know something you aren't telling him. But let's get you guys to the hangar. Just follow me. And keep up with me!" Of course, the transport cart looked a lot like an oversized golf cart, but yet again, Arianna had fiddled with it, and when she started it, it moved faster than anyone would have guessed.

As they rode into the airport proper, Crypto was glad that they had chosen to use her private plane and the company airstrip. It was clear to him that a convoy like theirs, motorcycles with a van, was sure to attract attention if gone about in many other ways. They had no trouble keeping up with the transport cart, but it did move much faster than he would have suspected. In no time at all they were rolling around the last hangar and toward a beautiful jet sitting perched at the end of the runway, the soft whine of engines in pre-start already coming toward them.

Cat looked over his shoulder at the jet, drinking in the sight of the sleek machine. “The bikes can get parked in the hangar," she said softly, pointing to where Arianna was parking the transport cart. “Arianna has this place set up with anti everything, especially since she lives here too. Unloading the van and loading the plane can be at the jet itself. Once we get off the bike, I can introduce everyone to Ace and Radar, as we call them."

“Sounds good." Was all he said, glancing back to his right and waving the others to follow, then gesturing to the hangar behind the jet. He got some nods and directed his bike toward the large structure, which he could see also housed at least one more jet. There was a large open space though. He gunned the engine and then slowed again as they passed behind the jet and around and then under the overhang. The sounds changed, growing louder as he pulled up and then the others followed them in. It was soon a din of noise so loud that it was hard to think, and then suddenly it began to drop off as one by one the bikes died.

He removed his helmet and shook out his hair a bit, then waited for her to get off before dismounting himself. He hooked his helmet over the handlebar and moved to get their bags out of the compartments. The van had pulled up outside near the open cargo door of the jet and Mechanic was waiting for them to help unload.

Cat got off, taking a moment to get her legs back again. The vibrations from the bike made her legs feel like jello for a few moments after she got off the bike. She unfastened the helmet she was wearing, then took it off, letting her hair fall back into place before shaking her head some. As Crypto got the bags out of the compartment, she put her helmet back into it, then took her backpack from him and slid it over her shoulders, her hand sliding into his easily.

The wolfess came over, wearing jeans and a tank top, her other clothes already stashed on the plane for the trip, along with Radar's. “It's been years, Riona," she said as she neared, but stopped before getting too close to Cat. “As I said out there, Michel thinks there's more to this trip than you're telling him. I have a feeling you found something truly important for you to leave your house, but I'm not telling him anything, as I don't know much about this trip other than you sending the request for my special jet, which means me and Radar."

A young Asian looking man came out of the back room of the hangar, having been double checking the readings on the jet, just as the wolfess mentioned his name. In his hands, he carried a sheaf of papers, scanning over every detail on them as he walked. “Ace, the readings are perfect. Route is clear, weather clear. Once everything and everyone is loaded, we can go," he said, before looking up and seeing everyone. “I guess everyone's here, then," he said without hesitation or embarrassment. But then, military training had gotten rid of any embarrassment he might have felt years ago. “So who's in charge of this trip?"

Crypto hung by Cat as the pilot, whom Cat had called Arianna, greeted his girlfriend. As they spoke a man came from behind them in the office and came up to stop by her with a checklist in hand. Crypto pointed toward Tzar, “Cat and I started organizing it, but he's the leader around here, so if you have questions, he's the go to guy." He gave a nod and then turned back to the pilot, “Riona here has told me about some of the upgrades you've made to the plane. Or at least in passing… Sounds impressive. I don't tinker with a lot of mechanical stuff myself, mostly I'm hacking and electronics, but I know a fine piece of work when I see one."

“Thank you. With her upgrades, the only pilots I would ever allow to fly her are myself and a pilot I know called Talako. He's the other best pilot out there," Arianna said, before turning to the Asian man. “Radar, go help load up the cargo. Make sure it's strapped and safe for take off. I'll run start up checks again in a moment." Turning back to Crypto and Cat, she gave a wolfish grin - she was a wolf, after all, so it was the only kind she could give. “If anyone isn't needed to load the cargo, they might want to head on board. I heard we had a noon take off time, and I'd like to get on the runway just before that so we can actually take off at noon."

Crypto nodded his acknowledgment of her words, “Sounds good. Everything we have to load up in the cargo hold can be handled by a couple of the guys so everyone else can climb on board." He glanced at Cat to see if she was ready to head over to the plane and when he got a smile and nod from her the two of them moved off. Tzar walked toward them, patted Crypto's shoulder, and then paused to speak with the pilot.

“Just wanted to let you know what we're bringing with us on your plane. Cat probably didn't tell you much and I don't know how much you want to know. But I also heard you were a military pilot and a damned good one so I'm going to be frank with you." He paused, glancing over at the van, “We're bringing along quite a lot of hardware, weaponry, and some sophisticated electronics on this mission. It's all locked down tight and safety's on, so there won't be any accidents. But if we crash, there may be some explosions." He smirked, “Not that I'm anticipating a crash. I don't want to go into details on the mission until we're in the air, so if you want to know more details we can fill you in after we're cruising."

The wolfess smirked back at him. “Yeah, well, if this baby crashes, it'll only be cause Radar and I are dead and the only other pilot I'd trust flying here isn't here to take over. And that means there'll be more than some explosions. It'll be more like the Fourth of July, New Year's Eve, the Chinese New Year and Bastille Day combined into one. Lots of pretty colors in the sky. This baby might be smaller than Air Force One, but she's more adept at evasive maneuvers and protecting herself, while Air Force One has to have fighters flying guard detail for it."

Cat boarded the plane with Crypto, going to a table and collapsing into one of the chairs. She pulled her bag to her lap and dug out the mini hacking station, setting it up and moving to look up the flight path that Radar had filed with Air Control. “It looks like the nearest airport to Haapsalu is in Tallinn. It's roughly 62 miles from Tallinn to Haapsalu, so an hour and a half drive time. But Haapsalu is the town Chameleon said is closest to where we need to go. I guess we get a little sightseeing on the way to where we need to go," she chuckled, trying to hide her nervousness. She wasn't about to back out of this mission, but for firsts…. It's a huge first trip.

Crypto slipped down into a chair beside hers and gave her a smile. They were the only ones on the plane for the moment, but that would soon change, and at that point, she would be trapped in a pressurized metal compartment several thousand miles above the earth with a bunch of people she had only known since the day before. It was important she stayed calm, “Bound to be some pretty countryside, and it sounded like the place you booked is quaint but nice. As long as they stay 'hands off' while we're there, things will go smoothly. If everything is according to plan, we'll be there only a few days at most. Setup, do the mission, cool down, and home again. In and out."

Cat nodded slightly. “Hopefully, it goes smoothly. I don't know how these missions go, but I hope it's not too drawn out. I'd rather spend time showing you my place than running around the globe," she said, glancing at him from the corner of her eye shyly. “Just let me know if there's anything you need me to do while you're out there. I can run data and number stuff if you need me to. Any type of data retrieval or other hacking needed that's not “on the spot" needed, I can handle." Taking one hand off her mini hack station, she slipped it into his, knowing she was about to need his touch to ground her.

He gave her a smile and a nod, “I'll setup a direct link with you, so that you can watch the live video from my drones and the guys' EyeX's if you want to while you're there. You may also need to lightly coordinate with some of Chameleon's contacts to keep the local authorities apprised and off of our backs." His fingers squeezed hers, “But don't worry. Everything will go like clockwork, ok? This is going to happen."

“I guess it's a good thing I have a knack for languages, then. I can speak, write and read every language, including hieroglyphics and the so called dead languages. It actually started as something Michel did to help me handle things when everything happened. He set me up with a program to learn languages, and since then, I just picked up every language. It actually helped me with learning to hack. Code is, after all, another language. And each type of code is just a different dialect," she said just as some of the others started boarding the plane. She kept her focus on Crypto, trying not to think about being in such a small enclosed area with people she just met.

“Very true. I know Russian and some of the other surrounding languages, Ukrainian, etc...but anything else I run through a translator program that helps me out. But of course, as you said, Code is another language and I know lots of different types of code, so there is that." He gave her hand a squeeze as some of the others started boarding. He heard the cargo doors closing outside and then the van pulling away from the jet. The others were piling in, each of them finding seats here and there. Ice and Snow together, Sammy by himself to the side. Tzar and Blade and Chameleon with their wives took up seats as well.

“Looks like this is it," Crypto said. “In a few hours we'll be halfway around the world."

Cat bit her lower lip as everyone piled in. Luckily, they knew not to crowd her, so she just settled back to watch everyone. Spawn and Timber moved between Tzar and the entrance, and Skorch settled in near the back of the jet. Finally, Bullet joined them and sat down across from them. The last to board was the wolfess pilot, and as she boarded, she pulled up the stairs, then down the door, sealing the cabin from the changing air pressure after they took off.

“Okay, folks. For those who haven't met me yet, I'm your pilot, Arianna. My co-pilot is Katsu, but as it seems this is more than what it looks like, feel free to use our military call signs - Ace and Radar. Once we're up, feel free to grab a drink from the bar or use your phones or electronic devices. Normally, we do have flight attendants, but not on this baby. Radar filed a flight plan, and due to the length of the trip, we will be landing in Tokyo for refueling, the right back out to Tallinn. That's the nearest airport to where I was told you were heading. During the flight, either Radar or I will be taking breaks for rest purposes, since it is a 14 hour flight. Buckle up, kiddos. It's time to take off!"

With her little speech done, the wolfess heads into the cockpit and settles into the pilot's chair, pulling her headset on, and starting the taxiing to the runway.

Everyone paid attention and there were scattered nods and acknowledgements from here and there. Chameleon was just slightly nervous looking but trying his best to hide it. Skorch was settled into the back and looked like she was getting ready to sleep before they even got the plane off the ground. Sambuca was near the front of the plane and after the wolfess walked out he gave a very soft little whistle to himself, and a shake of the head. “Gotta get me some of that…" he murmured to Timber, who was the closest, with a wink.

The motion of the plane soon told them that they were out onto the runway as it came to a halt. Soft words from the cockpit drifted back as there were checks and double-checks with the air traffic control tower, and then the engine whine kicked up a few notches and they were pushed back into their seats from the force of being propelled down the runway. Moments later they bumped and jostled and were airborne at a steep angle to get them up to cruising altitude and on their way.

Cat held onto Crypto, her eyes never leaving his as the plane started down the runway, picking up speed, then lifted off the ground. It was easy to see she was fighting her phobias, and the one thing keeping her grounded was him. She knew she had to go on this mission, as it's her twin and brother they're going to rescue, but not even that kept her from getting terrified. Just Crypto's calm face helped her stay calm herself. Sambuca's words reached her, but more of a dull cadence than the actual words, but she was so focused on staying calm, she didn't pay any attention to them at all.

For Jason's part, he maintained his gentle grip on Cat's hand and looked into her face, or around the plane. He was perfectly calm, because he had flown dozens of times and had confidence in their pilot and copilot. And because he had to for Cat's sake.

It took about fifteen minutes to get to the altitude Ace wanted, then she paged to the main cabin, “We've hit our cruising altitude, so feel free to move about, get drinks, or... call Michel, Riona."

Cat sighed, then shook her head. “Well, I did tell him I would call him from the plane. Not sure if the meeting was rescheduled or not, but I better make this call." Taking a deep breath to help settle her nerves from her first flight in four years, she pulled the mobile station back out and hooked it up and made the call to Michel.

As she went about hooking in and waiting for Michel's call, Crypto leaned back a bit and unpacked his own laptop, sitting it out on the table. The chair he was was a bit more like a bench seat and had it's back to the wall of the plane. He opened the laptop and plugged into the plane's power, then started to get information about the area they were flying into. At the same time he kept an ear out on the conversation going on.

The older gentleman answered rather swiftly. “Riona? I know there has to be more to this sudden urge to find a good location for our new cybernetics plant. Tell me."

“Michel, I… I can't say anything right now. Your line might not be as secure as I would prefer it to be to give you more details. But I'm not alone."

Michel's eyes flicked away from her face, but not as though he were looking away from the camera, more like he was glancing behind her for a half-second. “Dammit, Riona. With your phobias… How many are there on this trip?"

“In total, enough to make sure I don't get taken like Ciara, and my therapist is here as well. It was rather ironic that her husband is one of those keeping me from being taken. I'll call you when we get to the location and I'll show you what the area looks like so you can give your input about it for our new plant."

“At least Dr Ellison is there-"

“Dr Ellison-Antonov, Michel. I forgot myself. She hyphenated her name when she got married, as her credentials were in her name prior to their wedding."

“My apologies to Dr Ellison-Antonov for forgetting that. As I was saying, at least she's there and can help if you get overwhelmed by things… And, Riona? I'm proud of you. Do what you need to, and make sure everyone gets home safe."

“I will, Michel. Talk to you tomorrow when we start looking around, if I like what I see." And with that, she hung up. Her hand was shaking a little as she unplugged the station, then left the cord next to it. “He thinks he knows what we're doing. It's why he said that last line."

“He's pretty smart. He knows you're not just looking for the new location for a cybernetics plant…" Jason chuckled, “But I get why you're keeping it from him. As if our chosen professions don't breed secrecy and the need for security, you've also got your phobias to deal with. I like to go with the saying , 'it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.'" He reached over and gave her hand another pat and a squeeze.

Chameleon had been hanging around in the background after the call. A little restless already because of the flight. He came around to where they could both see him and cleared his throat, “Mind if I sit for a sec?" He slid into the empty chair at the table, “Listen Cat, I caught a glimpse of the guy that you were just talking to. Michel, right? Well, back when I was with the Sharks, I was part of a very high level meeting. Being with them I had to help organize some pretty despicable things until we could take action. But some of it even I was kept out of the loop on. I was present at this meeting, but only as a 'you should know what's going on' type of thing."

He paused, “This would have been shortly after your siblings were taken, because it was just before I met Ciara and Mouse. They were talking about that mission being botched and how someone, you, had gotten away. Your whole family was supposed to be gone to make room for someone else to take over. They had been hired to do it. Now, Michel's name and picture were on the board, but he was a secondary target. He was going down next, but after the heat had died down, and things had calmed. The same person that had hired your family hit wanted his whole family gone too...wife and kid taken, him killed. They never got the chance because we shut them down...but we didn't get who hired them, some woman in the same company from what I could tell."

Cat listened and her eyes frosted over as he mentioned a woman. “Most likely Katja. She's the vice president of the Pharmaceutical side of things. She's been trying to take the company out from under me for years. And it sounds like something that bi-...-xen would do. After everything went down, Michel hired a guard for me. Do you know how hard it was going to school after both my parents were murdered and my siblings taken, AND have a guard going with me from class to class, even into the locker room for gym or the bathroom before I could enter? None of the other girls could change in the locker room until I had, or they all had to before I could. And then I excelled, wanting to get school done and over with, so I took online courses, graduating at 14 from high school. Which made things even more awkward for me. No one wanted to hang out with me, or talk to me. And none of the guys wanted to ask me out cause I was 'the freak with a bodyguard'. I know WHY Michel did it and I appreciate that he did. The results just added to the building phobias."

Her hand gave Crypto's a squeeze. “It took the right person to see me for who I really am, even though he didn't get to see me for four years, just text and a few voice calls that I was hesitant about doing in the first place. Even the calls to Tara hadn't loosened up the fear of people in me enough for long conversations. Michel was a surrogate father to me, and even my calls to him have been brief. No more than 5 minutes."

Crypto squeezed her hand in return but honestly looked a little shy about the whole thing. In his mind he hadn't done anything special, just be who he was and treat her the way he thought she should be treated. If that worked out, and it had, then it had to be fate and destiny or whatever shit you believed in. Still, he smiled a little over at her.

Chameleon nodded his head a few times, “Katja, I think that was the name, yeah. I'm honestly surprised you're not more upset or...well… angry about what I just told you. That she ordered the hit, and all that. I mean, maybe you had time to come to terms with it, or maybe you expected her," he shrugged. “I just now put everything together and I realized that she's still out there. So Michel and his family may still be in danger, and you are as well now that you've come out of, well… out of hiding."

Cat nodded, thinking about it. “Well, Katja never was one for subtlety. Michel had a feeling that she was the cause, but no evidence for the police. As far as I know, Marketta is still working for the company, as his guard. But if you think another might help, I would appreciate it. And I doubt Katja will try anything while I'm around you guys."

Leaning her head against Crypto's shoulder, she continued, “Michel never let me be alone if she was near. Most of the time she came around, Marketta was near me, but if she wasn't, Michel was. But I plan on firing her, as soon as I find someone able to take over her position. And if need be, I'll clean house on that part of the family business and get rid of any and all those who are loyal to her."

Crypto had remained quiet the entire time that they were talking about Katja and what she had done to try and eradicate Cat's family and furthermore about how she was after Michel's as well. This woman was a menace, a no-good money-loving whore that would do anything to keep her power and gain more of it. It was people like her that made his blood boil inside. His eyes narrowed and he felt a rush of anger flow through him, but he did his best to suck it up and let it flow away. Getting mad and tense now wouldn't do anything for any of them. He would have to figure out how to get back at her, what they could do, if anything. She deserved nothing more than what she had sentenced Cat and her family to.

Chameleon nodded, “I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. This Michel is a very smart man, it's no wonder he is the President of the companies now. And I don't know who this 'Marketta' is, but she must have been pretty damned competent too, because I doubt that Katja let the whole thing drop all these years. But I suppose we will deal with it all when we return. I'll leave you two alone now." he smiled and pushed himself to his feet, steadying himself and moving back to his wife.

Crypto kissed the top of her head, “Thirsty or anything? I can get you a drink from the bar."

Cat felt Crypto's hand tense as she spoke, waiting until after Chameleon left to turn her questioning eyes towards him. The look faded as she felt him kissing the top of her head, though, and a blush crossed her cheeks. “Yes, please. Anything non-diet. And probably non-alcoholic. Can't stand the after taste of the first, and don't know if I can handle the second."

If she noticed his tenseness, she didn't say anything and it passed quickly enough. He nodded at her words and chuckled a little, but then gently eased her away from him so that he could stand and move toward the bar at the back of the plane to see what they had in stock. He anticipated lots of alcohol and he wasn't disappointed. Just about every type you could want was available, including some fine wine. But, on the bottom shelf of the mini-fridge he found a couple of six-packs of pop, cola and Mountain Dew and he snagged one of each.

Returning to the table he put them both down and then slid into his seat once more, “Take your pick, I wasn't sure which you would prefer. I like both."

Cat took the can of cola, popping it open and pulling her legs onto the chair she was in. It already felt like a long day to her, especially since she didn't usually do this much actively in a week, and here she was cramming more into one day than she had in the last 8 years. She was used to 22 hours days searching the Dark Web for things like human trafficking, arms trafficking, black market sales of human organs and drug trafficking. She sent as many to Crypto as she could to get things fixed, but now… she was in unfamiliar territory and her nerves were starting to show. She needed some kind of distraction, and soon!

Ice stood from where he was sitting with Snow and moved toward the back of the plane. “I guess the restroom is back here?" he muttered, glancing around as he went. “This is one hell of a jet...," his voice was quiet, soft and almost subdued, befitting his long experience as both a sniper and silent assassin. He and Snow trained and worked together well. A door opened and shut and he was gone only a few moments before he came back again and slid back into his seat across from Snow. He leaned forward and whispered something which she evidently thought was pretty funny from the soft laughter that could be heard.

Bullet bumped her shoulder, “What's so funny?"

She smirked and glanced back, “El a spus c? dormitorul în acest loc este dracu frumos ?i aceast? c?l?torie ar fi perfect? pentru anumite persoane s? se al?ture „Mile High Club" (He said that the bedroom in this place is fuckin' huge and this trip would be perfect for certain people to join the 'Mile High Club' - Romanian)."

Cat heard Snow, and a faint blush started on her face. She didn't know if Snow was meaning her and Crypto, or one of the three married couples, or what. But she still blushed just the same. Everyone knew what the Mile High Club was, even if they were still… well… virgins. Like she was. But that just meant that when things were at the right time, Crypto wouldn't have to worry about overwriting another guy's likes or dislikes.

But… back to what she'd overheard. She never had seen the bedroom on the jets, at least not that she recalled. But having hidden herself away while the rest of the world moved on left her with very limited exposure to regular things in the world, especially the camaraderie between friends or lovers .

Crypto wasn't quite so well versed in Romanian as he was in some of the other languages, and especially Russian. Still, he could get enough to understand what was said and he chuckled just a little bit at the words. He felt Cat shift next to him and when he glanced over at her he saw her blushing and biting her lip just a little bit. He leaned over and whispered, “We all tease one another all the time. Me never really having a girlfriend didn't help my plight with the teasing." He leaned back and opened up his laptop, bringing up the chat program between his computer and her tablet. He typed, If we were on this plane alone, you can bet I would be taking you in there right now.

The faint ping on her tablet made her open their chat and her blush grew as she read his words. Her fingers flew over the keyboard as she replied, Are you sure about that? Maybe I'd be taking you. Or teasing you in that bedroom. Maybe a little striptease… It was obvious that she was more comfortable behind the computer screen, able to open up more about things than she did, or could, in person, primarily due to the anonymity of the web. But she felt she could open up to Crypto this easily because they both felt that spark between them, which lead to her teasing comment.

Oh really? He shot back, glancing over the screen at her with a smirk on his face, not sure I could keep my hands off you long enough to let you finish the tease… he sat back a little, you almost sound like you wanna go do that now. He didn't figure she would take him up on it, but you never know. Crypto looked around at everyone else. Flights were strange things. It was almost like the group of them felt they should be quiet and consumed with their own thoughts. He figured that it would wear off eventually and everyone would move around and get comfortable. A card game would be produced from somewhere and things would liven up.

Her blush grew as he mentioned that she might want to go back to the bedroom now. But again, her fingers flew over the keyboard, and she typed in, What do you take me for? It takes more than a start of a rescue flight to get me into bed. Now, if we were back in the Den… or maybe the Lair… She lifted a finger and kept typing one handed as her forefinger went between her lips, teasing him. Maybe I could be talked into giving a full striptease for you. After all, we only got so far last night before…

I take you for the prettiest, most amazing girl I've ever met. I just want to be able to show you just how amazing I think you are. We've already seen it all, no reason to hide anything from each other, eh? He ran his tongue over his lips, and gave her a wink, I want to do some pretty indecent things to you. Things that involve having you on your back and my lips kissing yours.... He wondered if she would catch on to just which lips he was talking about. She was more naive than he was, but she wasn't that far distanced from everything.

She swore she was as red as a boiled lobster by now, her face feeling flushed from the heated blood rushing to it. Closing her mobile station, which was half the size of a laptop, she leaned over to him and smirked as she closed the distance between their lips. “You never said which lips," she whispered before kissing him, her hand sliding into his hair as her eyes closed and she gave herself over to the feelings between them.

Crypto grinned as she closed up her station and leaned over to kiss him, hard, on the lips. Their passion boiled over for a moment and he hooked his fingers around the back of her neck, in her hair, to keep their mouths together for a few moments longer. He finally broke it and stared into her eyes, whispering, “Not the ones I meant, but those will do for now." He fluttered a wink at her and then glanced about. Tara was smiling at them and some of the others had clearly noticed but were trying not to stare.

A soft moan slipped from Cat as the kiss ended, her breathing just a bit faster than normal. Her eyes were dazed from the intensity of their kiss as he stared into them, whispering back to her. As he gazed about, she opened her mobile station and typed in, Damn, babe. That was hot. I'm speechless. Except to say that no other female lips better end up near yours. She started to ease back into her seat as Arianna emerged from the cockpit while Radar flew the jet.

“So, who's gonna tell me what this trip is about? Cause I got texts from Michel wanting to send Marketta to Riona's side," she said before grabbing an energy drink from the bar.

Crypto couldn't wipe the smile off of his face as he sat back into his own chair. Each time he kissed Cat he felt more and more like she was the perfect one for him, and every time he simply desired her more. He was glad they had waited that morning in the shower, because now they got to savor the teasing and the passionate kisses that would eventually lead them to the first moment truly 'together'. He replied, Why would I need to kiss anyone else when I've got your lips? Both sets…

Tzar cleared his throat when Arianna came into the room and grabbed an energy drink. By now they were almost two hours into the flight. He figured she deserved to know, so he sat forward and clasped his hands on the table in front of him and Tara, “We are a group of individual with special skills that have banded together to try and right the wrongs that the law enforcement agencies around the world can't, or won't, fix themselves. Right now, this mission, we're flying in to intercept a child trafficking deal that is going to go down in just 6 days time. The main victim, that lead us to the deal, is Cat's brother. We have reason to believe that her sister is also there with them, as well as an unidentified number of other children."

Cat typed back as Tzar spoke, trying to keep a smirk off her lips as she knew the mission itself was of utmost importance, and wasn't something to be treated lightly, I didn't say anything about kissing another female. I said her lips better never get close to yours. Or she might end up losing said lips. Cause if you missed it, that kiss was me staking my claim to those lips of yours, and the rest of you as well. And I will hurt a bitch trying to take you from me!

Looking over at Tzar, Cat spoke up, “I wouldn't mind having Marketta here, but Michel would need someone to guard him, after what Chameleon told me about Katja being the one who started everything eight years ago. You got anyone back at your headquarters that could take over so she could meet us? And no, she wouldn't need the same transportation to get there as we did, but she could fly back with us."

Arianna gave a thoughtful look, her eyes going to Cat for a moment. “Michel figured it out, I take it. It's the only reason he'd be adamant about Death coming to your side, Riona."

Cat nodded, “He told me to make sure everyone comes home safe. But that was it. He knows not to let out that we've found Mouse. And please, Ace, call me Cat. I've grown more used to it over the last four years."

Their conversation interrupted, Crypto put that part of his brain on hold and listened to the conversation between Ace and Tzar and Cat for a moment, while at the same time he started doing research on this Katja that had caused so much trouble for Cat and her life. He was out for blood and anyone could tell you that when he got that way, things got serious...but then none of the group were people you wanted to fuck around with.

Tzar nodded at Cat, “There are some people that we could send...but if you think that Michel would be safer with her there, we can take care of you." He paused, glanced at Timber and Spawn. “Was Neon available?" he asked. Timber nodded, “Yeah, he was done with that last job, he could go."

“I can have Crypto contact him and he can head over…" he looked at Cat. “But you're going to have to setup some way for him to get into contact with them and prove who he is, because I'm not going to have your assassin/bodyguard killing one of my men because of a misunderstanding."

Cat nodded, replying, “Death and I created our own language when she was guarding me back then. In my opinion, Michel would prefer a male guard. Easier to talk to. Easier to deal with when he's gotta use the.. Umm, what was the word I'm looking for again.. Oh, yeah… The head. I'm pretty certain he's tired of a woman checking out the men's bathroom before he can go in." She paused, then slid her hand into Crypto's as he sat next to her, making him use one hand for his search as she gave him a slight squeeze. “I don't doubt that you can protect me, but when you're on the mission itself, it would be good to have a good guard with us ladies."

Turning to look at Crypto, she said, “Tell him to contact Marketta when he gets there. Her eyes are rather unusual, so he should be able to tell immediately that it's her. Her pupils and irises are red and she has black scleras. It's a hereditary thing. And her hair is black with deep blue streaks in it."

She switched to a different chat, one she used with Death, and typed in, Kuv muaj ib tug neeg tuaj. Igama lakhe nguNeon. Musa ukumbulala. ? ?a on ço mefiristad, ki Morelro muhofizat kunad, to ?umo ?o mo vox?r?. (Translations: I have someone coming (-Hmong). His name is Neon (-Zulu). Do not kill him (-Xhosa). He's coming there to protect Michel so you can meet us (-Talik).)

Crypto clicked and typed a bit and then there was a ringing noise and a video chat popped up. On the other end was the somewhat refined features of what appeared to be a human at first, but the moment he turned his head that went out the window. Neon, was an elf. “Go." was all he said, glancing toward the viewscreen.

“Hey Neon. We've got a mission that we need you on. Pretty urgent. You down?"

“Always. What damsel in distress am I rescuing from a horde of orcs today?"

“Haha, very funny. But no, we need to you scoot over to..." he glanced aside and raised his eyebrows at Cat. “Address?" He paused a moment while she gave it, and then repeated it to Neon. “And once you get there meet up with the CEO and his bodyguard. Her name is Marketta, she's got red and black eyes, can't miss them. She'll be looking for you and if there is any trouble just call this back and I'll let her talk to someone she knows so that everything is on the up-and-up."

“Got it. On the way… Is this assassin woman hot, aside from the eyes?"

“Don't know. Never seen her…Why don't you go fuck off and find out, eh?"

“That would probably work too. Catcha later." And with that the link went dead.

Cat shook her head at Neon's comments to Crypto, but she got a chance to see what he looked like, so she added a little detail to the message to Marketta. Avan c???ikk???i cevi. (Translation: He's got pointed ears. - Malayalam) She paused to look up, folding the mobile station up. “Message sent to Death. Ace, text him that she needs to check her mail now." The address was only ten minutes from the guild's headquarters, so there wasn't much time for the appointment setup.

Ace took out her cell phone, smirked, then typed a message and sent it. “Michel knows to have her check. Luckily, my phone doesn't leave my side, so I know that no one's planted a bug in it. Same with this jet. I refuse to let anyone work on this baby but me. Anything said here, will remain here."

With the setup done for Neon to meet Marketta, Cyber went back to running searches to get as much information on Katja as possible. He zoned out a little bit, but was still 'there' enough to know if someone would be talking to him or not.

Up toward the front, Sammy was eyeing up Ace as she stood in the cabin. She was the most gorgeous thing he had ever seen, or maybe smelled, and he couldn't deny the way his body was reacting. None of the others seemed to notice and he wondered what the fuck was going on with that. Maybe it was her perfume or something. For just about the first time in his life though, he felt that he didn't have the words to say to properly introduce himself, so he stayed quiet.

Ace looked around and pushed off from the bar she was leaning against. “Anyway, Radar's flying for a few hours as we head towards Tokyo. I'm gonna rest a bit. When we get there, I'll have food brought in for everyone," she said as she headed towards the back, then to the smaller of the two bedroom cabins, looking over her shoulder as she turned, her eyes finding Sambuca's before a faint heat stole through her. She ducked her head at him, trying to hide her reaction, but probably failing, since his gaze hadn't left her since she came out from the cockpit.

Sam was puzzled by his own reaction, but was honestly gratified when he saw her glance his way and then duck her head as if she were embarrassed or as if she liked his looking at her but didn't want to say anything. He found himself smiling again and leaning back, coming to the realization that his sudden feeling may be mutual, and she may not be so far out of his league as he imagined. The fact that he was even thinking these thoughts was strange for him, because never in his life had he considered a woman 'out of his league' before...not once. Things might get VERY interesting…

The next several hours passed without much ado. Crypto let Circa run searches for Katja in the background while he kept working on more data and intel for the mission, anything he could get his hands on that might be helpful to them. Elsewhere in the cabin, Bullet, Ice and Snow started a poker game which soon had Sammy and Timber looking on. The three couples mostly sat and chatted with one another or to themselves, or slept. They would all have to sleep at some point, probably on the leg of the journey from Tokyo to Tallinn.

Cat took some of her short, patented Catnaps, her head on Crypto's shoulder or her hand in his as much as possible. The poker game often had her waking up, but with her shorter naps, she didn't freak out like she had at the guild's headquarters.

After a couple hours, Ace came out of the bedroom she'd gone to and headed towards the cockpit, the path taking her right by Sambuca and the others at the game. She'd changed clothes for this leg of the flight, wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top with an open denim jacket over it. The outfit left a lot of fur exposed, especially her heart shaped mark on her chest. Black leather paw boots encased her lower legs but left her toeclaws exposed. Her hair was brushed back, exposing the jaggedness of her left ear, looking like she'd lost part of it in a fight, which she had. It was the fight that had made an unlikely trio not just friends, but best friends - her, Radar and Eagle.

This time Sambuca decided he wasn't going to let her get past him without at least saying something. He pushed himself to his feet and gave her a little nod of the head, “I didn't get to introduce myself earlier, not really. The name is Sambuca, but you could call me Sammy…" he smiled easily, “Couldn't help but notice your ear, bet there is a story to tell there…"

She stopped when he moved into her path, a smile gracing her muzzle as she reached up to her ear. “Not really a big story, as long as you don't ask Radar about it. There were others there, but since they're not around, I won't mention their names. Radar was in a fight with some guys that were bad-mouthing me. Made it look like I needed him to protect me. When I got involved, they thought he needed me to protect him. Then another guy got involved, someone I hadn't met before, nor had Radar. Next thing I knew, the three of us were back to back, fighting off a crowd of drunken imbeciles. One of whom was a rather large dragon that bit my ear as he tried to distract me from fighting. I ducked, my ear stayed in his mouth. He also gave me these scars over my eye, but I do know there's one less dragon menacing young femmes out there."

“Well be sure to tell me if I ever become obnoxious enough that I'm resembling that dragon. I certainly don't want to cross you, or your friends." Sam smiled back, “You do look like you can take care of yourself in a fight, if you don't mind my saying...you're damn fit." he glanced her up and down, eyeing her a bit more than he had been able to before. Her outfit didn't leave a whole lot to the imagination, which was fine by him. “Maybe we could hit the gym together sometime, or just hang out, you know?"

Ace nodded, a small grin on her muzzle. “Sounds good. I usually work out with Radar and another friend, the one that jumped in to help us. Afterwards, we usually grab dinner, maybe hang out afterwards, if we don't have things coming up that we need to take care of the next day." Holding her paw out, she said, “Give me your phone, Buca. I'll put my number in."

He fished his phone out of his pocket and handed it over to her, smiling all the while. Not his smoothest pickup ever, but he got her phone number out of it and that meant something at least. He wouldn't have blamed her for not wanting anything to do with anyone from their group...but then she seemed like the kind of ex-army girl that would know how to deal with them and she was a big girl so she knew what she wanted. When she handed it back he nodded, “I'll be sure to use that when we get back…"

While she had his phone, she sent a text to hers, so she had his number as well. Her tail wagged gently behind her as she smiled at him. “I'll be waiting for that call, Buca," she said saucily, a twinkle of mischief in her eyes.

Cat looked over at them, a soft giggle slipping from her before ducking her head against Crypto's shoulder. “This mission seems to be encouraging couples to get together. I wonder who's gonna be next…"

Sam took his phone back from her and raised it to his forehead as if to salute her with it. Then he nodded, “I won't keep you waiting, Ace." He stepped back and slipped down into his chair once again, then put his phone on the seat beside him for the time being.

Crypto chuckled and gave a little shrug, “Who knows? Not many more femmes around here for the other guys to fall for, yet at least." He slipped his arm around her shoulders and squeezed her to him softly, “All I know is that I have the one I want, right here…"

Ace smiled at him, then headed into the cockpit, taking the controls from Radar to let him stretch his legs and grab a drink. The slightly younger human male came from the cockpit and went to the bar, grabbed a water, then walked about some, letting his legs unkink from the last couple hours in the cockpit. He looked over at the group playing poker, his eyes practically glued to Snow. To him, she was gorgeous, but this wasn't the time, or maybe it wasn't the place. Or maybe both. But he did want to get to know her better.

Just then, a ping sounded in the cabin and the fasten seatbelts light flashed on. “Buckle up, everyone. Radar, get your ass up here. We're getting close to Tokyo, folks. You can grab something to eat here or we can order something to be brought to the jet," Ace said over the intercom.

Snow spotted the copilot eyeing her as he walked past, both to the bar, and then back again. She raised an eyebrow at him and glanced him up and down, then gave him a little nod of appreciation, and a lick of her lips. Ice snorted across the table from her, “Evidently it's not just beautiful women that can distract players in a poker game…" He smirked, “Raise.."

She growled and gave him a withering glare, then turned her attention back to the game. Just then, Ace alerted them that they were getting close to Tokyo, which would put an end to all the festivities for the time being. Crypto bundled up his laptop and the game was put away as everyone got back to their seats and buckled in, as Ace had ordered.

Crypto glanced at Cat. “Want to order something in to eat? I figure you probably won't want to go to a restaurant," he smiled.

Radar hurried up to the cockpit, a small smile on his lips as he saw the look and nod from Snow, her tongue sliding over her lips as if she found him just as tasty looking as he found her. When this mission was over, he was going to talk to that sexy snow leopard! He slipped into his chair, dragging his headset to his head and pulling it on to call to Tokyo tower.

Cat adjusted her belt after putting her mobile station back into her bag, then reached for his hand. “I don't know about a restaurant, but maybe we could take a walk out there for a few, possibly while waiting for food to be delivered to us. I've never seen Tokyo, other than pictures." She eased her feet off the seat, planting them on the floor of the cabin as the plane started its descent to the runway in Tokyo.

Crypto smiled back at her and nodded, “We can take a little walk. I doubt there would be much danger out here anyway, no one really knows that we're here or that you're gone, so Katja couldn't get to you." he was mostly thinking out loud, since Katja in particular was on his mind at that moment. His arm slid around his new girlfriend's shoulders and he squeezed them a little bit, “And we can have some food delivered to the plane. I bet that Ace knows some good places to get some."

Sambuca, meanwhile, had dug his phone from his pocket and was texting on it for a moment, then put it back again and turned to look out the window. Below them as the descended through the cloud layers, Tokyo suddenly sprang into view, in all its glistening, gleaming, neon glory.

Ace felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, but couldn't take the time to look at it as they were on their approach to Tokyo's Narita Airport. Radar was chatting with their tower, getting clearance and runway location, setting the coordinates into the system and the jet altered its course slightly to come in on target to the runway. Fifteen minutes after they first spotted Tokyo under them, Ace had the plane landed, not even a jolt felt by the group in the cabin. The plane taxied to an empty hangar area and she called back over the intercom system. “We're in Tokyo. Take what time you need, I have to get a fuel truck out here to fuel us up. I won't leave until everyone is on board again."
