An Old Myth
#2 of Unakumi
As the mountains stood tall, as if holding the sky in place, clouds travelled closer like migrating birds. As a figure, in one hand a staff and the other a map, he was a tall and slim feline, he had glasses that covered his eyes, when a clear view came, his blue eyes shown, as blue as the sky above him, he was wearing a backpack and a loose shirt and shorts, heavy breathe came from the male. As he continued to walk, he looked around, the wildlife mysteriously quieting itself.
However, as the male continued to walk he began to hear voices in his head "Mark~"...."maark~." he grabbed his head and shook it a few times, he then turned his head and saw a old women, she was dressed in something as if she was a native, old long white haired, she pointed to the male.
As mark looked at the female, he made his way to her, he noticed she was the only one he saw for miles of these forests. "Um..who are you?" the female looked up at him, she had a long scar going down her eye, her eye's were silver and she gave him a ghostly feeling. she spoke in a soft tone "Who I am is not important, Mark."
He went wide eyed and backed up alittle "H-How do you know who I am!?" She smiled and sat down "I-I know alot about you, please take a seat.. you'll regret it if you don't..."
Mark reluctently lowered himself down sitting on the soft grass "What do you mean I'll regret it?.." he said with abit of attitude. She then looked at him and shook her head.
"Oh~ You look foward in the darkness, and never give light to where you are heading into.. Common, around lone travellers and youngsters." He then looked, 'This elder must be off her rocker....' then she laughed abit "Oh~ mar, I am not 'off my rocker' another thing, you...stick with your first opinion and never give anything another look.."
He was getting abit angry at this elder and growled but then sighed and looked at her. "So why isn't this place....alive?"
She looked at him "Well, this place died centuries ago, ever since the demon arised..." He raised an eyebrow "A...demon?" he then laughed "Your meanign to tell me that this town is afraid to coem around here because of some fake creature?..."
She shook her head "He is no fake, and if you haven't noticed... the wildlife are nowhere to be seen, and you can't tell them not to come around here.. they sense it." Mark commented "Yes and im sensing im going to go...but first tell me about this 'demon'.."
She then put her staff down and nodded "I'll tell you the whole story..."
"The village people have been trying to cover it up, they have opened the forest and the lake before... but everytime, their are reporting missings, deaths. Some say it's a killer, but the deaths.. Are to gruesome, to monsterous to be done by any person. So people stray away from this lake and they should... This entire situation happened centuries ago...
In the ancient years of Japan... This town was a small village, such a small village. their was a fisherman by the name of Unakumi. Noone knew where he came from, he just came, fished, went to the village to trade in his fish, didn't say much.. Then one day the starting of an everlasting curse began. People began to go missing, it went on and on and then one day, the emperors own daughter, the princess went missing.... the samuria were sent out and searched everyhouse... then they reached unakumi's... he was out... and they went in and what they saw.. couldn't be imagined in the most horrible nightmare... the missing peoples skin were hung up, made and clothed into furniture, the meat off of their bones, were being consumed.. and the daughter of the ruler...was in the bedroom on the bed... then unakumi was walking home and saw the samuria there, he knew he was found out. And he ran. Of course, the townspeople chased him but.. Unakumi was far from them and when they found him. He was in the river, he had tripped and fell in, caught his leg on something and drowned... people looked. People think that once your die, you stay dead..no, the last thing the villagers saw were unakumi's eyes bolt open, the once blue eye's were just huge blaring red eyes.
They ran and tried to forget about it, as it turns out, before unakumi died he gave up his soul for enternity, he was not dumb... he knew for what he was doing he was going to die.. so he made a pledge that once he died, he would make sure the village would die as well... After that, people reported to seeing unakumi, people saw he wears a plain red, torn, drenched blood soaked robe, he wears a mask, all scratched up, and his blaring red eyes..
Since then people that wandered into the forest went missing, and when they were found... they were found dead. their bodies, torn in half, their blood drained out of them.. gruesome fates.. the fog is his welcoming card, a few years ago, a group of hikers came down here, they were on vacation.. near the river, where unakumi died, and some of them died, one of their friends were found gutted, their throat slashed, his eyes ripped out, his stomach was torn out. Another of their friends were found, her brain was missing, her snout smashed in, and her neck sticking out. Finally, the last one.. a bull he was found... his eyes were ripped out, completely dismembered.. their were 4 of them, 5 of them came, only 2 escaped, one of them the female, right now is in an asylum... and the male, he is taking counseling...they aren't the same, never will be.."
He then looked at her and was abit afriad, he had heard about the killings, and then he asked "O-Oh yea, then why aren't you dead, it looks as if you live here... Why hasen't he got you yet?"
As she turned, they could see that, the fog was increasing greatly and was getting closer. She turned to him and spoke.
"Boy...My time came long ago, Run the fog is getting closer, he is coming..."
A loud flute noise could be heard in the distance, and as mark tunred and looked he spoke "Wait what do you mean by your time has came.." and then he felt a breeze come upon him in the direction that the women was in and as he turned, she was gone. As if never there, he got up and heard the voice of the old women "Run" then he sprinted away from the fog
