Under Ice: Training (2)
The crew of the Nova have been hard at work getting themselves ready for their mission. Will they butt heads the whole time or will they find bonds between themselves? They have a lot of work to do to get to launch day, and they have a doctor to satisfy too.
20 March 2082
A doorbell chimed. Ken stretched himself out as he stared up at the ceiling. He pulled his phone over to look at the time. Seven? Why so early? Harvey stood up as he pulled his blanket around himself and went to answer the door. The dingo was greeted with enthusiasm.
“Good morning Harvey!" Allen said as Harvey invited him in, “You guys ready to greet the day?" The badger dropped a large box onto the living room table.
Harvey looked down at himself, “I mean, if only we could do this nude."
“Fair enough!" Allen laughed, “But I'll have you all nude in no time! Doctor Thorn will be giving you a full physical after breakfast."
Ken rolled himself off the top bunk and slipped his underwear on, “I guess we have a full day ahead of us?"
“For sure," Allen said, “I also brought you all uniforms."
The badger reached into the box and unfolded one of the uniforms. They were long sleeved coveralls with bright reflective strips on the arms and legs, two stripes down the chest, and a large X on the back. On the arms were patches with the ISA logo and a patch with their last names over the front pocket.
Allen himself was dressed in the same, “They're very comfy! I brought you seven each."
Marc and Kuga got up to join them. The otter slipped his underwear and a t-shirt on. Harvey passed him his uniforms as the dingo joined him in getting changed. Marc didn't bother with the need for any under clothing and just slid the uniform on. Ken checked himself out in the mirror.
“Not bad," said the wolf, “Definitely an improvement from the red ones on Mars."
“We really should have done different colors for that planet," the badger sighed, “We just went with Mars red for everything. Thankfully for them, you guys will be delivering these new uniforms when you do your flyby!"
Marc finished buttoning up his tail sleeve and checked himself over, he gave a playful flex, “These're kinda sexah."
Harvey tugged at his sleeves, “They are rather nice. Shall we go?"
Kuga yawned wide, “I'm ready!"
The four of them followed Allen down to the cafeteria. The room was packed as it seemed like everyone was ready to start their day. Marc piled his tray with a mountain of eggs and bacon, and he also grabbed a beer.
“How the hell are you still alive?" Harvey asked.
Marc stuffed his mouth full of bacon and eggs, “Nnnf...Imma monster witha bottomless pit of a stomach."
“I hope you're stocking up the Nova with plenty of food," Harvey said to Allen.
Allen laughed, “Not to worry. You'll be travelling with at least six months worth of food. However, we're going to need to break your beer habit Marc."
The kangaroo shrugged, “No prob mate. I kin drop this habit. Soda is fine w'en I'm up der. The mixa's ain't too bad."
“He also knows there's hard liquor on board," said Ken as he forked through his food.
“Dun rat me out," Marc chuckled.
“Use it sparingly," said Allen, “We only put so much on board. It's more for celebratory purposes."
“I know, I know," Marc grinned as he swigged his beer, “I know how te behave."
Julio Thorn
Allen led them to the gym after breakfast. He had tracked down Diego, Rasul, and the engineers. As they approached, they could hear groaning and cheering. There was a small crowd around weight benches.
The four of them stood there open mawed at the spectacle. On one bench was Magnus, and the other, Diego. They both had their uniforms tied off around their waists as they lifted. Both the raccoon and bat were doing five hundred pound bench presses.
Rasul was standing behind Diego, “Come Papa Grande, you can do it!"
Hugo was standing over Magnus, “Ziegelhaus. Do not let him embarrass you."
Both of their arms had veins popping as the crowd kept count. They both hesitated on the seventh rep. Magnus grit his teeth and went for another. Diego swore and followed suit. Magnus roared at him and did his ninth. Diego yelled back as he shook with the next push.
“This win is mine!" Magnus did his tenth.
Hugo pulled back on the bar as the raccoon did his final lift. Diego grunted as he tried his tenth. Rasul grabbed the bar and helped him rack it up. The bat wiped the sweat off his forehead. Him and Magnus were soaked in their muscle fueled battle as they slammed into an aggressive hug.
“You little shit," Diego laughed as he squeezed hard around the raccoon.
“You should know better than to bet against me," Magnus laughed.
“Alright folks, we'll see you next time for squats!" Bruno passed off a stack of cash to Magnus.
Allen applauded, “You guys sure know how to put on a show!"
“Perky boy," Diego shook hands with the commander, “I guess you're here to collect us?"
“Time to get you guys checked out," said Allen as he passed the bat a towel, “Julio has cleared his day for us."
Diego toweled himself off, patting his face and then his pits, “Guess he gets a good show from me and Magnus."
Magnus chuckled, “He'll have no trouble finding our veins today."
The group of them made their way to the medical wing. They passed many research labs as they went. The smell of bleach and stainless steel lingered in the air. Errol and Hyperion were waiting for them outside of Julio's office.
“About time," said Hyperion, “You lazybones!"
“Hush up small fry," Diego roughed up the fennecs ears.
“You smell like shame," Hyperion punched him in the gut.
Diego picked up the fennec and rubbed him between his pecs, “Let me share it with you."
“Get off you monster!" the fennec flailed as he beat his hands against the bat.
Diego laughed as he set him down, “There you go."
“Come on man, I just showered," Hyperion looked unamused.
A voice cleared. In the doorway to the office stood a hyena in a doctor's overcoat with a clipboard in his hands. He had a well kept hawk and mane. His blue eyes looked tired but he held a comforting smile as he greeted them.
“You rowdy boys must be my problem today," said the hyena.
“Doctor Thorn!" Allen shook hands with him, and went about introducing everyone.
“A pleasure to meet you all," said Julio, “I guess we should get started. Follow me."
The hyena led them down the hall into a large room with treadmills and spirometers, “Alright. First up, I'm gonna draw your blood and get you to piss in a cup for me. I'm then going to examine every inch of you. We're then going to test your endurance. After today, should you pass, we'll start with scuba and crisis training. I'll also be doing a mental evaluation. You need to be both physically and mentally fit for this mission. I'll be doing tests through the months. You need to get along as we'll be spending a whole year together. We'll be training, supporting, and living in unison. I expect you to cooperate."
“Yes sir!" Marc saluted.
“You first smart boy," Julio put on rubber gloves and pulled out a syringe, “Clothes off. All of you."
Marc slid his coveralls off with no hesitation, “Stick it to me doc."
Julio looked amused and grabbed the kangaroo's arm. He went down the line of them. He carefully labeled and organized each blood vial. He then sent the blood off to be tested. He then carted over cups for them to give him a urine sample. Marc went right there and overflowed the cup, spilling all over the floor. He grinned as he held the cup up for the hyena. Julio realized Marc was a joker and was going to give him a hard time later. The rest of them stood in the stalls in the room to do their business.
When they returned, Diego looked Ken up and down, “So uh...What do you feed that thing?"
Ken turned more red than usual as he placed his hands over his enormous genitals, “Just kinda how I was grown."
Marc pulled the wolf's hands off and held his arms back, “Naw mate, show off the mangoes. He's also gotta massive club in him. Tis why I call'm Boomstick. The wee lad is bigger t'an me."
Ken sighed, “Yeah, yeah…"
“Genetics missed you everywhere else but there," Julio started to press his stethoscope against the wolf, “You look healthy though, and that's what's important."
“Thanks," Ken looked embarrassed.
All of them were healthy males. Julio looked satisfied with their bodies. He found no malformations or bumps that would raise any concerns. Their insides sounded fine. He noted that Marc had some gastrointestinal distress.
“He drinks beer with breakfast, what do you expect?" Harvey said.
Julio snorted, “You eat bad, but you're unfortunately the sign of a healthy male in peak physical condition."
“Ye know it," the kangaroo flexed.
“Lets see how much," Julio went and stood next to the treadmills, “Alright, next we're going to test your physical endurance with a tube in your mouth!"
“Ugh. I hate this test," said Diego as he stepped up to one of the treadmills.
The bat seemed to have the routine down as he strapped the tube in place. Julio went through and made sure everyone had their spirometers attached correctly. He went and stood next to a control station and flipped a switch. The treadmills started to move.
“Alright, we're going to start with a walk," said Julio as he wandered behind them, “I'll be doubling the speed every five minutes. Begin."
The eleven of them started their walk as Julio wandered from station to station. He wrote down the measurements from the ball chamber on the spirometer. This went on for twenty minutes as Julio had them all at a jog. Harvey was struggling to keep up.
Julio made extra notes on the dingo as he did his best to go. Diego and Rasul were jogging in rhythm with one another. It was obvious they spent a lot of time together. Magnus and Marc were exchanging challenging looks with each other as Julio upped the speed. The two of them were obviously not going to tire out before the other.
After what felt like forty-five minutes of torture, Ken had to get off. He was shortly joined by Harvey whose eyes were watering from how sore he was. After a few more minutes, only Diego, Rasul, Marc, Magnus, and, surprisingly, Errol were left. Julio kept wandering around the five of them, jotting more notes down. Diego and Rasul both tapped out, and when Magnus tapped out, Marc threw up his arms in triumph.
He then realized Errol was still going, “Wait!? Are ye kiddin?"
“He participates in marathons for fun," said Hyperion, “He could probably go the full hour without breaking a sweat."
Errol gave him a thumbs up. A hint of a smile at the corners of his mouth under the mask. Julio finally hit the kill switch and Errol slid back. The weasel pulled the mask off his face and turned to them.
“What's the matter boys? Can't keep up?" Errol smirked.
“Lets hit pavement and see how far ye make it," Marc retorted.
“We have time," Errol laughed, “Ten miles. You may have the legs, but I've got the will."
“Oh, you're on," Marc laughed.
“Eats bad and drinks, yet can outrun almost everyone," Julio muttered as he finished up his notes.
“Yer jes being mean now," Marc grinned.
Julio hugged his clipboard against his chest, “Alright. I think we're done for now. I'll find you all later, but I'm confident you've all passed. However, Marc, if you could stay behind. I need to check one last thing."
“Sure ting!" said Marc.
The rest of them got dressed as they left Marc and Julio alone. The hyena stuffed his stethoscope into his pocket. He then slid on a glove. He pointed at one of the chairs.
“Assume the position," said the hyena, “Need to do a prostate exam."
“Oim shor it's all good," Marc said as he spread his legs.
“Mmhmm," the hyena lubed up his glove.
Marc felt the insertion as he grinned. He went to say something lewd until his cock got hard and he started to cum uncontrollably. The kangaroo cried out in pleasure as he started to buck his hips. Painting the chair in his seed.
The hyena pulled his glove off and threw a towel at Marc, “Clean up. And don't fuck with me again."
“You cheeky bugger!" Marc laughed as he held the towel over his drooling cock.
Julio left the kangaroo there to mop things up. The hyena sighed as he washed his hands in his office. He hung up his coat and decided it was a good time for lunch. He felt he was going to have fun with this crew.
21 March 2082
Julio knocked on door seventy five. The door opened and Marc was standing there with his morning wood. He crossed his arms as he gave the doctor a playful smirk.
“Come back for more huh?" Marc swung his cock back and forth.
“Cute," said Julio, “I've come by to deliver the good news. All your tests came back and you've all passed with flying colors. We just need to get a few of you into shape a little more."
“Yeah, yeah," said Harvey, “I don't get out much to exercise. I spend most of my life sitting at a desk."
Julio slapped Marc's dick, “Get everyone ready. We've a meeting in thirty minutes in conference room 5D."
Marc chuckled as he closed the door. The group of them got themselves in uniform and headed out. Kuga was struggling getting his tail sleeve to button up. Harvey leaned down at the elevator to help him out.
“Oh, thank you!" Kuga smiled up at him.
“No problem," Harvey nodded.
“You guys ready for this?" Ken asked.
“Ready as we'll ever be," said Harvey, “We've got a lot of training to complete. It'll be tough, but we've all done it before."
“Hope ye kin keep up Fresco," Marc jabbed him in the arm.
“Fresco?" Harver arched an eyebrow.
“Cool man ye are," said Marc, “Needs a cool name."
Harvey chuckled, “As you jest big man."
They rode the elevator down to the main floor and walked over to the conference building. Allen was waiting for them outside of the conference room. He looked up from his phone as they approached and greeted them cheerfully.
“There they are!" Allen shook their hands, “You boys ready to face the day?"
“Let's hope so," said Ken, “Where do we start?"
Bruce Aldin
The gorilla was waiting patiently for them in the conference room. He wasn't wearing his military uniform this time around. He was dressed in the ISA uniform and looked to be a bit too large for it.
“Gentlemen!" Bruce greeted them, “Come on in, grab a seat."
The gorilla started passing out manila folders to all twelve of them. Each folder had their names on them and top secret was over the front. The gorilla took a seat at the head of the table.
“Go ahead and crack them open," he said, “Top secret only means you can talk to the people in the building about what's in these folders. These are guidance for operations in the facility. Be mindful of where to go. Keep your hands out of things you don't understand. You'll have full privilege access. We want you to keep sharp in your professions."
“Now, today, you'll be starting scuba training," he pulled out his phone, “You're all familiar with the procedures. This will also give us plenty of opportunity to test your suits before we send you into the maw of the unknown."
Marc held up his hand.
“Yes, Lander?" Bruce asked.
“I dun mean to be bitchy," said Marc, “But uh, do the suits haf better midspace? My balls dun hang like da rest o' yers."
Bruce laughed, “We've modified the suits in such a way that you can actually adjust the waist size. These are the most advanced suits we've made. They're designed for comfort and flexibility. They have improved shielding from radiation and are able to provide up to twelve hours of breathable air."
“Nice mate," Marc nodded.
Kuga shyly put up his hand.
“Takeru?"
“Ok, only small complaint," said Kuga, “Do they fit us smaller guys better now? The legs are always too long!"
Hyperion answered this, “Yes they do. Me and Errol made sure of that."
“Oh good," Kuga smiled, “It's very hard to run when your boots slide your pant legs down."
“Any other questions about the suit?" Bruce asked, he smiled as he stood up, looking over them all, “If not. Let me just say, I'm very proud to be serving with you. I don't expect you to disappoint me. I'll be monitoring your progress as Commander Robinson takes you through training. And if any of you like, in your downtime, learn skills from one another. You all have something you can teach your team. Project Europa needs you all to succeed. Good luck gentlemen. Commander?"
“Thank you, general," Allen took to the front of the room as Bruce said his goodbyes, “You all ready to get wet?!"
Training
15 April 2082
The whole group of them were doing well with training. Diego felt they were cheating underwater a bit. Kugo, despite having a suit on, was still agile in water. Being an otter, he thrived in these conditions. The bat had become rather commanding of everyone though.
They understood he was the captain, but he sometimes got mad over little things. More than once him and Marc got into it. Both of them underwent the wrath of Julio after though.
The hyena meant business when he said they needed to get along. So much so that he would steal them away one at a time for therapy sessions. Anytime two of them got into an argument, he would drag both of them away from the training room. Today was no exception.
Julio took off his helmet once they came up from the water, “Alright. Marc, Diego. My office. Now."
The kangaroo and bat sighed. They got into an argument about how to seal a blown panel. Marc being the hardhead he disagreed with how Diego was doing it. Despite it being regulation. Even if Marc had a better solution.
Allen huffed, “I think Diego has finally met his match."
Rasul laughed as he slid his suit off, “He complains about him. But he likes him though. He just wishes he'd listen a bit more."
“Maybe I should talk with Marc," said Ken as he unbuckled his suit.
“No. Don't worry about it," said Rasul, “This is just how it is. Let them resolve this on their own. Julio's just gonna let them talk it out."
“I know," said Ken, “All I did was apologize for my mistake. I just didn't expect him to yell at me."
“He has been watching his tone more when working with you," said Allen, “I'd say that's progress. It's only been a few weeks. Give him more time to warm up."
29 April 2082
“Hold it down on that side," Diego told Marc.
Marc slid himself around the side of the test ship. He pressed the panel into place as Diego and Magnus started to seal it into place. Diego motioned for them to switch sides. Marc grabbed arms with the bat and swung him over to his side and slid his way over to the other side. Diego held a thumbs up as they got the panel fully sealed.
“Good work, Stompy," said Diego.
“Got yer back Papa Grande," the kangaroo stuck his tongue out.
The bat laughed as he motioned the next group over to the next station. The lot of them were starting to get the hang of repairs. Space was going to be a little different so Diego told them to be ready for anything.
The bat had taken up throwing stuff through the water as they worked. He'd knock their tools out of their hands too. He was testing their patience and willingness to deal with difficult situations. They were getting good at ignoring it.
25 May 2082
“Oh, this is my favorite!" Allen bounced into the circular room, “Time for G training!"
“Oh man, I hate this," said Kuga, “I always get sick."
“Part of the process," said Bruno, “Just close your eyes and count down from ten. That helps me out."
“Oh yeah?" Kuga looked up at him, “I hope you're right. I just hope I can plug things in the right spots this time. Everytime I did the training for Mars, I'd panic and just stuff the plugs into whichever holes."
“Don't worry Stumbles," Diego patted him on the head “As long as you can hang with the G's, that's all that's important."
Kuga nodded, “I know. I just always feel bad I can't finish it."
Ken was going up first. The wolf was strapped in tight. Allen shooed everyone into the control room. The badger shot the operator a thumbs up. The wolf let out a deep breath as the machine picked up speed.
Allen leaned down to the mic, “Alright, we're going to take you from one G to seven G's. Hit the red button if you start to feel faint. I'll be watching you on the cams. If you pass out, we hit the brakes. We start the wire test at three G's."
“Got it," Ken responded.
Around and around he went. Allen hit the buzzer to start the wire test. Everyone was impressed with how fast Ken finished it. The wolf didn't even hit four G's before he finished. He could feel his lips flap in the wind as he was carried up to six G's. He pressed the red button.
Allen ran up to him as soon as the machine stopped, “You alright?"
Ken fumbled the seatbelt as Allen helped him get unstrapped, “Y...yeah. It was becoming too much."
“You did damn good," Allen patted him gently as he passed him off to Julio, “Alright, next up is Harvey."
One by one they all ran through the test. They were all in fits of laughter as Kuga screamed loudly. He couldn't finish the wire test but he went for the seven G's without passing out. Hyperion, Errol, and Diego were the only other ones to hit seven G's. They were the cool kids with Kuga.
“Oh it's nothing!" Kuga laughed despite having thrown up three times now.
The three of them dragged Kuga off to celebrate their victory.
“It's the little things I guess," said Harvey, “I'm fine with five."
28 June 2082
Hyperion pushed forward on his thrusters. He had half the team in a training shuttle as he zoomed around Earth's orbit. Errol had the other half several kilometers away. They were going through crisis training which Hyperion was good at. The fennec had them locked in a spin while the crew had to repair the engine room console and repair a loose hatch outside of the ship.
“Lightning!" Diego was outside of the ship with Bruno and Marc, “Can you ease up on the speed?"
“More speed?" Hyperion responded, “You got it boss!"
Diego started yelling expletives while the other two on board were busy sorting through panels on the practice console. Rasul was checking the connectors as Ken sorted through repair boards. The room had flashing red lights and an emergency alarm much to their dismay.
“They're really pushing this training a lot harder than they used to," Ken shouted over the noise.
“It's a disaster," Rasul laughed, “But hell, if we survive this, I'm strangling Hyperion."
“Sounds good," Ken chuckled, “We can have a drink over his body."
Silence washed over them as Rasul locked in the last cartridge, “Oh my fuck. We did it. Good work Ken."
“You too Cookie," Ken helped the wolverine get up from underneath the console.
The signal for the airlock went off. Diego, Bruno, and Marc waited for the go ahead signal to take their helmets off. Diego opened the airlock and went straight to the cockpit. Hyperion could be heard cackling as Diego yelled at him for going too fast.
“Come on Papa Grande!" Hyperion grinned, “It's a crisis situation!"
Diego grabbed a water bottle and chugged it down to cool himself off, “Ok...Ok...You're right. It's crisis training. I'm sorry I yelled."
“Now kiss," Bruno joked.
Him and Marc shared a fistbump as Diego rolled his eyes. They all slumped down into their seats as Hyperion pulled them back into a stable orbit. The fennec flipped a few switched and dropped it into autopilot.
“Come in ground control," he said, “Mission was a success. Both situations were resolved without incident."
“Copy that training craft two," came Bruce's voice, “I hope everyone kept their cool this time."
“Copy that sir," Hyperion grinned, “We're heading home to get some bubbly."
“We'll be waiting for you," said Bruce, “Over and out."
26 August 2082
“Ok, this runs on automatic adjustment," said Magnus as he went over the controls on the Spider with Errol, “You just need to move the legs and it'll adjust. The sensors measure the height of objects around it."
“Alright," Errol pushed forward on the joystick.
The Spider's legs moved over the obstacle course with ease. Errol was enjoying himself. Magnus ordered a full stop at their target location. He was eager to test the drill. A rumbling sound activated as he lowered the drill to the ground.
The ship shook as the drill worked into the earth. He stepped out of the Spider to watch the process. Slowly but surely the drill worked its way down. His goal was three hundred feet. Bruce clambered over the rock course up to Magnus.
“How's it going?" the gorilla asked.
“So far, so gut," Magnus was practically holding his breath.
The Spider had given him so much trouble. Now that the boss was here, he was even more nervous. The drill stopped spinning it's way down and Magnus ran back into the ship. Bruce followed after him.
“Fick mich!" Magnus exclaimed happily, “It works!"
Bruce patted him on the shoulder, “Good job boy!"
The raccoon leapt up to the front of the ship and picked up Errol into a bone crushing hug. The weasel cried out as Magnus danced around. Bruce cleared his throat as Magnus celebrated.
“Sorry!" Magnus dropped the weasel.
“Run the heat test," said Bruce.
“Yes sir," Magnus went back to the drills control panel.
The ship hissed as Magnus turned a knob. He went back outside with Bruce as they both approached the hole. A waft of hot air washed over the both of them. Bruce gave Magnus a soft smirk.
“It works," said Bruce, “Glad we stole you from the Mars project."
Magnus laughed and celebrated some more.
17 September 2082
“Oh fek," Marc rolled over in bed.
A hand brushed over his chest, “We really gotta stop meeting like this."
“But Doctor, I need ma examinations," Marc joked.
Julio gave him a kiss, “I mean, my office is much more private than this."
“Ken's used te it, not te mention we banged," Marc rolled onto his back as held his hand over the hyenas, “Besides, yur the one always toting we all need te get along."
Julio grinned, “This is true."
Marc pulled him in close, “How we all doin' anyway?"
Julio sighed as he ran his hand between the kangaroo's pecs, “We're all doing really good. I've fibbed a little here and there. Mostly on Harvey though. He's just shy on passing the tests."
“He'll be fine," Marc smirked, “He an' I dun see eye to eye all the time, but he's tough."
“Good to know," came Harvey's voice from the living room.
Marc sat up and slammed his head into the top bunk. As Marc let out expletives Julio went out to the living room. He felt a bit ashamed.
“I know that look," said Harvey, “It's the same look the last doctor had. I know I'm not exceptional physically. I'm here because of my brains."
“I should have said something," Julio frowned.
“Your secret is my secret," Harvey grinned, “He moans awfully loud."
“Doesn't he though?"
16 November 2082
The gym was full of shouts and yelling. There was obviously another lift off going on as Ken and Rasul entered the room. The two usuals weren't on the benches. Magnus and Diego were busy betting with Bruno. As they approached the crowd they found they were cheering on Kuga and Errol pushing one hundred pounds.
“Come on Kuga," Marc yelled over the otter as his spotter.
Hugo was on the other side with Errol, “Push, push, push!"
Errol screamed and Kuga screamed back. It was almost adorable. Everyone was really into it though. The two of them had only reached their fifth push and were shaking furiously. Kuga had the look of determination as he brought the bar back down. He let out a cry. The whole room started to cheer Errol on.
The weasel's eyes were watering as he slowly lowered the bar. His cheeks puffed up as he went to push back up. He let out a panicked squeak. Hugo caught the bar and lifted it back up onto the rack.
“It's a draw everyone!" Bruno announced as the crowd disapproved, “See you all next week where the money moves to."
“Oh wow! You did good Errol!" Kuga shook the weasel's hand and bowed to him.
“You too Kuga!" Errol laughed, “I didn't expect us to make it that far."
“I'll stick with eighty," Kuga nodded.
Ken approached Diego, “Quite the show."
“Hmm, yeah," the bat grinned, “They're quite the spectacle."
“We came to grab you guys for lunch," said Rasul.
Diego's stomach rumbled at the mention, “Oh please, yes. I've just burned through breakfast."
The group of them went into the cafeteria. All twelve of them had become a well oiled machine. They were close and in sync with each other's habits. Diego still yelled orders from time to time, but Julio had him managing his temper with ease.
They were all now aware too that Julio was roughing up Marc in the bedroom and no one cared. This opened them all up a bit more to the idea since they'd be trapped together for three months solid. Rasul and Diego confessed they'd done so before, and this seemed to make the rest of the crew more comfortable.
As Magnus said about it, “Besser mit freunden geil zu sein als mit fremden."
Wise German words to get them through the rest of this. They all shared a beer over lunch before they had to return to training. Launch day was just around the corner and everything was going smoothly.
