His Teeth, Her Body
Malcolm, a gray wolf, goes to a social and adult meet for preds and prey. Once there, he notices that there's some adult stuff going on, only to be intercepted by a rabbit and tested. Time to see if he fits in.

His Teeth, Her Body
For GlynWolf
By Draconicon
What do you call a meeting of prey and predators? The answer, apparently, was a Munch, and this was Malcolm's first. The minute he walked in, the gray wolf's nose was assaulted with the smell of mice, doves, chickens, and rabbits, all of them tweaking at the old instincts that were buried deep enough to keep from causing trouble, but not quite deep enough to go completely unignored. He took a deep breath and almost regretted it, feeling the inside of his mouth start filling up with drool almost immediately.
The one saving grace was the room's temperature. It was cool enough that nobody was sweating, which meant that the hunt-chase response didn't get triggered. Malcolm breathed out again, determined to breathe through his mouth for a bit rather than through the nose.
To help calm himself down, he looked around the room. The meet was more of a social at the moment, as far as he could tell; the Lucky Rabbit had been rented out for the night to ensure that they all had space to talk and enjoy each other, and while there weren't any back rooms for people to sneak off to, he had seen a few couples already head for the door to the back alley. He imagined that they were going to be busy for a while.
He walked between some of the clusters of prey and the isolated predators, ignoring those that were already joining up with one another. It was rather difficult for him to find a clear path, though, particularly as some of the rodents were already darting here and there. They almost seemed to treat it like a game, lunging from table to table, crossing 'out of sight' by being under them, while some of the cats in the room would leap on top and follow them around.
It was like some role-playing game where he didn't know the rules, and he didn't want to jump into it without figuring it out, even though some part of him was rather...curious.
He found a seat at the bar and ordered a beer. The bartender ducked out of sight, the canary making his way down to one of the under-bar fridges, and Malcolm glanced back at the other preds. They met his eyes, yes, but aside from a nod or a wave, none of them seemed to have time for him. They'd look away again very quickly, tracking the prey that moved through the bar, their eyes fixed and staring.
For their part, the prey were just as eager, ignoring the predators and acting either like the herd animals that they were - in the case of the four does that moved through the room together - or moving in small groups or alone like the rats and mice, or like the bunnies that avoided the hawks that were sitting on the wall-mounted 'perch' chairs. It was completely established, and he really did feel like the odd man out.
Yet, at the same time, he found himself eager to jump in. The sight of the rabbits, in particular, the way that they hunched forward, the way that they darted from table to table, like they were safe zones, the way that they were constantly sniffing the air and twitching their ears: it pushed at his instincts, at old, buried things that he had been feeling more and more as he grew up, as he learned what sort of things were possible outside his own species. He swallowed again, getting rid of the drool that was building up.
The canary returned with his beer, and he popped it open and took a sip. The bitterness pulled him back down to a normal train of thought, something that he was more than grateful for. He wanted his head on straight for his first time.
Click.
He turned around at the sudden snap-click sound and found himself staring at a white rabbit, one that was perhaps four and a half feet tall, at the most, with her ears pushing up another eight inches from that. If he'd been standing, she would have come up to the bottom of his ribs. As it was, she still didn't quite reach his shoulders.
The snap-click had come from one of those snap-bracelets, he realized, but this one was wrapped around her neck. Red-colored, too.
"What's that?" he asked, pointing at it.
"Oh, just a way to tell everyone that I'm off-limits for now. Out of role."
"Huh. Smart. Doesn't that, uh..."
"Oh, it stings like a bitch snapping it on like that, but hey. Do it fast or do it comfy. Can't have both."
She hopped up on the bar-stool beside him, nodding the canary off. As soon as she did, she turned her attention back to him.
"So, first time?"
"Yeah. It's, uh...pretty overwhelming."
"Oh, tell me about it. First time for everything, right? All those instincts running, your heart pounding, your blood pumping -"
"Pretty sure that's more the prey side of things," he said.
"Hehehe, yeah. Yeah, gimme a minute. Still coming off the adrenaline rush here. Name's Crystal, by the way."
"Malcolm," he said, keeping his voice as carefully neutral as he could. It was a little harder than he thought.
She's so...small.
That was the first thing that really hit him. Oh, sure, he'd been around other wolves that were growing up, some of the runts and others that were part of the species, but this was the first time that he had been this close to a species that his ancestors had hunted, and - more to the point - the first time he'd been around one in a setting that wasn't academic or professional. The fact that he could see down her shirt, see her small, nearly-flat breasts, the way that her hips flared out a bit -
Oh, the instinct to hunt was there, but the fantasies of the end-goal were very different. Very, very different compared to what his ancestors would have thought of doing. He hurriedly went for the bottle -
"Nnngh!"
And managed to not just bruise his lip, but jam the glass against a tooth. Didn't damage anything, but it stung enough to take him out of fantasy-land.
"Heh, yeah. Definitely a first-timer," Crystal said, holding a hand against her wrist. "Annnnd that's good enough. Sorry about that."
"About what?"
"Having to calm down. I don't want to be running too hot while we talk, you know? You're not the only one with instincts."
"Ah. That kind of thing."
"Yeah. Running. Hiding." She chuckled. "Appeasing."
"Appeasing? Is that what I think it is?"
"Well, it might be. Depends on what you're thinking about doing when you finally catch your prey."
He scooted closer to the bar at that, huffing softly as he worked to hide his boner from the rabbit. He was pretty sure he wasn't too successful at it.
"Yeah, I think it's what I think it is."
"Oh? You already got something in mind?" the rabbit asked, leaning on the counter and looking up at him.
"You always this forward with the new guys?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Only the cute ones."
"You're breaking out of your comfort zone, then. I thought rabbits were supposed to be timid and meek."
"That's the stereotype, but hey. We gotta break the mold somewhere."
"Really? I thought we came here to slip back into it. Hunter, hunted..."
"Well, only for a while. Until we come to the end. Then we gotta find a new way to figure out what the hunter gets, instead of killing his prey." She chuckled. "Of course, different prey offer different things. Kinda why we keep all these snap-bracelets. Helps us tell who does what."
"You got a cheat sheet for that?"
"Why, you looking for someone with a specific kink?"
His cheeks burned all the hotter. Okay, either this girl was deliberately trying to get him all riled up, or she was going balls to the wall to see just how much self-control he had. He took another drink, this time making damn sure not to risk chipping a tooth, and then turned back to her.
"What if I said yes?"
"I'd ask what you wanted then, big guy. Pretty sure you want someone smaller, considering you're a big wolf."
"...Maybe," he said. "But you might be surprised."
"Oh, tell me, then," she said, leaning forward just a little bit, showing off her cleavage that little bit more. Oh, she was pushing him. Pushing him hard. "I always like to hear what the new guys like."
"Well, if you really want to know..."
"I do. Come on. Tell Crystal everything you want in your prey...if you can fit anything besides your dick in her."
He very nearly had a spit-take at that. The sheer size difference was a major factor, and the whole thing had him all riled up. Well, if she was going to play it like that, fine. He put his beer to the side, turning to face her properly, spreading his legs. Her eyes went down this time, and they stared at the bulge rising in his jeans.
Finally. She had the grace to look just a bit embarrassed, too, particularly as he imagined that he'd never get more than his tip down her throat, let alone in her other holes. Malcolm leaned in, whispering to her.
"You want to know what I want? I want a prey girl that can run all day, that'll make me work up a sweat chasing her for hours...and then I want to catch her, pin her...and keep her," he whispered. She gasped as he leaned in a bit further, taking a chance and nibbling around the edge of the snap-bracelet around her neck. "Yeah. I want to take her, yeah, but I want to take it further. I want to keep her, chase off all the other preds, and make her mine all night long. Mark my territory...make sure everyone knows that this little prey is wolf-marked...all mine. Keep them safe and happy and...all that..."
By the time that he finished, he felt almost embarrassed. He wanted that to be sexy, but it got all sappy towards the end. He started to pull back, only for Crystal to grab him by the loose fur under his chin. He yelped as she pulled him back down, leaving them nose to nose.
"Give me five minutes to calm down, and then I'll take this off. And if you aren't chasing me, I'll know the reason why."
"Heh...really?"
"Fucking. Really." Crystal grinned. "Now, you want to chase me like this...or should I get a little more...natural?"
The End
