Brooke had woken minutes ago, just after noon, and was dressing to meet Parker at the local café after texting him. Four hours of sleep would hold her off until tonight, and she had to get out of this depressing bedroom for a while now that she was over her and Parker's situation.

As did Luma. While she was more than grateful to have a bed to sleep in all day, fresh air and scenery had been calling her name frequently over the weekend, so she was excited to go out again. Balance was something she needed in life. She was sitting on the mattress' edge while watching Brooke zip up a gray jacket and slip into boots.

"Eager?" She picked Luma up and kissed her head, exiting the room with her. "Same."

They were out heading east under the sun in moments, relief for them both, and especially for Brooke as she could genuinely enjoy it again.

Parker had a substantial impact on her daily life and emotions, and she forgot that sometimes. It's why the idea of relationships used to turn her off, but meeting him made her willing to take a chance.

Luma sniffed the air and watched the busy population, draping her front paws over Brooke's arm. She had no clue where they were going since Brooke hadn't told her, but Luma could sometimes gauge it by paying attention to her surroundings and the route they took.

She was getting more familiar with Malie as time passed, and she hoped to know it well enough before she evolved and would begin roaming and possibly making friends around here. Luma missed exploring routes and whatnot with her old ones and tended to warm up to new pokémon quickly.

"I'll never have you stuck inside the way I did this weekend... Promise." Brooke may have been in a rough patch, but it was no excuse to neglect Luma's needs. She wanted to raise her as well as she could and provide her with priceless memories to look back on. Brooke would buy her anything she wanted at the café.

Luma nuzzled her arm. She'd slept through a lot of it, anyway, although she was bored half of the time. A good outing satisfied her for a day or two, though, so today could very well make up for it.

Brooke continued, spotting the small, cozy tan building just down the road. One thing she'd miss about Malie was every destination requiring only a short walk, but it made her lazier over time.

Maybe she should start using her treadmill more. Brooke didn't want to let herself go-- at least not this soon. It'd be more difficult to keep up with when her metabolism slowed in the coming years.

Luma eyed the café as they approached. Brooke had brought her here a few times. It wasn't often but enough to recall, and Luma never forgot where a good meal was. She had some kind of sweet bread last time.

Brooke pushed open the door and spotted Parker sitting across the room in a corner booth by a window. He didn't see her since he was on his phone, so she walked over, passing other people occupying tables.

Parker looked up when he noticed someone standing beside him and saw the girl he loved so much. He stood and grinned, hugging her tightly while being cautious not to harm Luma. "Missed you."

"Me too." Brooke hugged him with her free arm, then sat across from him and set Luma in her lap. "Did you sleep?"

"Yeah, and I've never felt better. You?"

"No different." She was just glad to have Parker still, and she knew he felt the same way. She kept it in the back of her mind that they could break up on any day, especially when she was messing with Vix, but Brooke would delay it for as long as she could.

He leaned back and eyed Luma. One of the best decisions he made was gifting her to Brooke. Her home provided a better environment for Luma and gave Brooke her first experience owning a pokémon on top of it. "How's it going with you and your daughter?"

"Shut up," Brooke giggled. At least they'd established one thing from the beginning of the relationship: no kids. Brooke's parents always tell her she only says that because she's young and would change her mind later down the line, but Brooke didn't think so. "Excellent, though. She's always calm and obedient, so it's perfect. How about your son?"

Parker sighed. "I hope you don't mean Vix. He feels impossible to train, and there's just no respect. Wish he was more like Luma because I'm starting to lose faith in him."

Well, Brooke couldn't be helping the situation. "Just do what's best... Would you ever get rid of him?" She really hoped she wasn't the manipulative type. Brooke didn't want to pressure again, but Vix was problematic in general, and if he were gone, it would be as if nothing happened between them. Where was the downside?

"I mean..." He shrugged. "Sure, it's crossed my mind, but I'm not the type to give up on a pokémon. I'll give it more time." Parker then leaned in and held his hands on the table. "But onto a more pressing subject... Since we'll be moving soon, where is it that you want to go?"

"I haven't decided." Brooke set her hand on his. "And I don't want to on my own." If he'd sacrifice for her, the least she could do was let him have a say in their future.

He took her hand and squeezed it. "You sure?"

She nodded. "As ever. We'll talk over breakfast."
