Lord Herne stared down at the prostrated human woman before him. His arms were folded across his chest and his eyes gleamed like priceless emeralds behind half-closed lids. For what felt like an eternity, he held her transfixed by his gaze, his presence and power surrounding her and enfolding her in its grasp.

At last he crouched down, hearing her fearful in-drawn breath as he reached out his right paw, his hooflets splaying out gently between her shoulder blades.

“Arise, child." Lord Herne spoke solemnly.

Sobbing, fearing some unspeakable punishment would befall her, Jasmine remained prostrated on the forest floor, trembling inconsolably.

“You have been judged - “ Lord Herne's voice was quiet, emotionless. “Be at peace, for your heart is pure of guilt and shame."

Jasmine's tears and sorrow vanished in a single heartbeat, swept away and replaced by warmth, comfort and compassion.

“Lord... I did not wish - “ Jasmine began, keeping her eyes downcast.

Lord Herne sighed softly through his leathery nostrils, then effortlessly, he lifted his paw and she involuntarily rose, assuming a kneeling position before him.

Jasmine could smell the musky scent, yet other scents filled her nostrils, the sweet scent of pine, earth and rain all blended into the almost overwhelming senses that was Lord Herne.

Lord Herne crouched down, resting his forearms over his knees, his paws hanging loosely, the hooflets pointed at the ground.

“Child," He began. “Your ancestors were Draoi – they were the Druids of old. You called me Lord, and within your heart, I discern the truth. Despite the passage of centuries, you cling to your beliefs in the old ways of worshiping the Old Gods. I acknowledge and appreciate this, for many have forsaken their vows and ways – with it – our power and names, are all but forgotten now."

Jasmine, consumed by fear and trembling, kept her eyes downcast. “I am unworthy, my Lord..."

Lord Herne huffed through his nostrils, one leaf like ear twitching. “Perhaps this is true. Yet I perceive that which my eyes have not witnessed since eons past! To you..."

He reached out, gently cupping the silver amulet around her neck, his thumb hooflet lightly tracing over the pentagram and the stag's antlered head, before he released it.

“To you, your amulet is a mere adornment, an ancient heirloom passed down through generations beyond recall..."

Jasmine's hand instinctively rose, caressing the silver pendant adorning her neck. She felt a surge of energy coursing through her body as her trembling fingers traced the pattern of the stag's head and the pentagram.

“I never realised..." Jasmine whispered, her eyes widening, sensing an ethereal embrace enfolding her, offering solace and reassurance.

“Once, my followers wore such symbols – a means of recognition and protection," Lord Herne confided in a sibilant voice. “Much has been forgotten as my herd turned away from me. Should you desire it, I shall bestow upon you my blessing. I will honour and elevate you, strengthening your weaknesses through your unwavering faith in me, for in turn, does your belief grant me strength and vitality."

Jasmine's heart pounded with a mixture of awe and trepidation as Lord Herne spoke these words to her. His words were laced with power and promise, the enormity of the decision before her was almost insurmountable.

Tears welled up in her eyes, as her human mind struggled to comprehend and consider his offer. Lord Herne, the ancient deity of the forest, patron of the forgotten ways, was extending to her – a human – his blessings...

“Accept or do not, the choice is yours, for so I have spoken, so mote it be!" Lord Herne intoned.

For an hour, Jasmine fought with herself, as Lord Herne remained kneeling, impassive, implacable and entirely inscrutable. Not a single hair of his dark furred body twitched, it was like he had turned into a statue, so still did he remain.

At last, Jasmine lifted her head, a blush creeping up her cheeks as she took in the true appearance of the humanoid stag who knelt before her. From his muscles, the beautiful colouration of his majestic pelt, the large, almost fist sized testicles and then with a gasp, her eyes stared widely at the terrifying furred sheath and her blush grew worse as the thought of what lay within it swept across her mind.

Lord Herne merely raised an eyebrow and gave a single flick of one ear, a low, barely audible chuff coming from him.

“My Lord Herne - “ Jasmine began, lifting her head up to gaze into his brilliant emerald eyes.

His gaze was warm and comforting, yet there was an intensity in it, a depth that penetrated her soul and seen into the furthermost reaches of her heart and mind. Nothing could be hidden from him, nor would be. He could see every fear, every doubt, and even every ounce of the potential that lay locked away within the deepest recesses of her mind...

Including one that made him raise an eyebrow...

Her desire...

With a voice both gentle, yet commanding, Lord Herne spoke once more, his words resonating throughout the sudden stillness of the forest.

“Jasmine, child of the Druids, do you accept my blessing? Do you pledge your faith and loyalty unto me, the old ways, the resurgence of the forgotten ways, and fealty to me?"

Jasmine hesitated for a moment, the weight of his words almost crushing her with indecision. Deep down, she knew the answer. In the core of her very soul, beyond her conscious and even subconscious, a fire flickered and sparked – growing stronger and hotter within her – a fire fuelled by her ancestral lineage, but the whispers of the trees around her, the quiet voices of the winds and by the calling within her heart.

Rising, Jasmine, knelt on one knee, bowing in fealty. “Lord Herne, I accept your offer. I pledge my faith and loyalty to the old ways, the resurgence of your power, and the forgotten ways! I will honor and venerate you, drawing strength from you, as you, in turn, draw strength from me!"

A smile barely showed on Lord Herne's lips, a gesture that held both promises of wisdom and compassion – and something far more interesting. He reached out his right paw, as Jasmine timidly placed her hand in his, his furred fingers gently closed over hers.

“So mote it be," Lord Herne spoke softly.

“So mote it be," Jasmine replied, bowing her head.

A surge of energy coursed through her as the connection was made – the intertwining between mortal and divine.

“Rise, Jasmine, embrace your destiny," Lord Herne spoke solemnly. “You shall become a beacon of the ancient magicks, a guardian of my forgotten knowledge. With my blessing, you shall wield the power of the old ways and carry forth word and deed of me amongst others."

“I will, I promise..." Jasmine murmured, then twitched as she felt his paw shrink to a more human sized one, then her eyes widened as he appeared as an anthropomorphic Elk, topping out at six feet in height, plus his impressive antlers.

“I can sense in your heart, your desire, for in this form, I shall truly grant you my blessing..." Lord Herne spoke, squeezing her hand gently with his paw.

“I would never presume, my Lord - “ Jasmine squeaked, then dropped her eyes.

Lord Herne smiled and leaned forwards, then kissed her gently on the forehead.

“For a gift given, one should be returned, should it not? How better to truly give power and vitality – than to share such with me?"

He gestured, and a large patch of moss rose up next to her, forming what looked like a comfortable, relaxing bed. Jasmine blushed, then turned away as she began to remove her clothing. Lord Herne remained impassive and inscrutable, until Jasmine lay herself down on the moss bed and squirmed until she was comfortable.

“A gift freely given - “ Lord Herne whispered.

With a wave of his paw, Jasmine gasped and her body filled with sensations and pleasure no human man had ever brought her before. Her body become perfectly relaxed, her groin wet and slick and her blood felt like the endorphins that filled her would set her alight.

“I give myself to you, in perfect love and perfect trust, so mote it be." Lord Herne whispered, as he joined her on the bed, then placed his paws either side of her chest and gazed down upon her. “I will be gentle, fear not child, for I am neither beast nor human – yet I give myself freely to you, as you do to me..."

Jasmine gasped as Herne's slightly bulbous tip parted her labial folds, the warmth of it making her tremble and moan in exstacy. As he eased forwards, his engorged member sliding effortlessly inside her, Jasmine slipped her arms around his lower back and squeezed with all she was worth.

He moved gracefully, pressing forwards until his entire length was sheathed within her, his warm fur pressed against her sweat-slick skin. At his gentle caress and touch, it felt like his hooflets electrified her – so hyper-sensitive was her skin, each touch made her writhe and gasp in passion and exstacy.

Lord Herne's eyes slowly turned from emerald to sapphire blue, as the Deity and human consummated their lovemaking beneath the twilight sky. He brought Jasmine to orgasm multiple times, each more amazing than the last – his own sexual stamina unquenchable. At last, as midnight approached, Jasmine squealed and arched her hips against his furred ones, the most amazing orgasm ever, recklessly casting her off the edge into pure sexual release and satisfaction.

Lord Herne gazed down at her, lowering himself down to lovingly kiss her sweat-slick fringe, then his supple tongue licked away the rivulet of sweat.

“My Lord - “ Jasmine wheezed. “You have given me that which I can never repay - “

Lord Herne raised an eyebrow, gazing down at her through eyes that burned a brilliant blue. “No, child, it is you who have given me so much, ask, and your will be done, for your generosity and love you have given me."

“I would - “ Jasmine began, then a blush crept up her cheeks to her hairline.

Lord Herne blinked twice, then raised an eyebrow, as he slowly dismounted and helped her off the bed. “If this is your heartfelt wish, I will grant you this boon. Are you sure you wish to experience such?"

“I wish it - “ Jasmine shivered, then stood on her swaying legs. “So mote it be..."

“So mote it be - “ Lord Herne echoed, then he waved his paw at her.

Jasmine's gasp was loud, as with his magicks, in less time than it took her to realize it, gone was the human woman, and in its place stood a beautiful Whitetail doe. Her tubular ears twitched too and fro, and her large, expressionate eyes gazed around as she sensed, smelt, and heard things, her human-like mind had never imagined.

“Child, I have done as you have asked – now – my time amongst mortals grows short – I will grant you this last boon..."

He walked silently, his cloven hooves coming to rest behind her, as he reached out and placed his paws on her furred hips. Jasmine looked back at him, her teardrop-shaped tail snapping upright, as he smiled and trailed his hooflets through it. Stepping closer, he placed both paws on her back before moving forward and consummating their bonds like stag and doe.

Jasmine's loud, braying bleats rang out, her head tilted back and eyes squeezed closed, as she felt Lord Herne's impressive length fill her – then she gasped as he nodded his head and finally, truly, consummated their deal. His seed flooded into the womb of the doe she had become, filling her with warmth, love and happiness, as Herne trembled and held her hips tight, closing his eyes.

Her head twisted about as she gazed back at him, tears of gratitude and love sliding down her furred muzzle, as he reached forth and gently stroked her cheeks with his leathery finger pads.

*

Lord Herne stayed with her throughout the night, making love with her multiple times, both as a doe and as a human...

*

When the first rays of the new dawn spread over the forest, Lord Herne sighed in pleasure, gently stroking the sleeping Jasmine's cheek with his fingertips.

“From this day until your last - “ Lord Herne spoke quietly. “You are mine, for so I have spoken, so mote it be..."

His anthropomorphic body flickered, then faded away, leaving the sleeping Jasmine warm, content and thoroughly exhausted...

*

When she awoke later that afternoon, Jasmine felt the newfound strength surging within her. Stretching, she knew, deep down, she had been given a great privilege and a blessing... in more ways than one. As she stood and clothed herself, Jasmine felt the ancient presence of the forest, the spirits awakening after centuries of slumber, acknowledging her as one of their own and welcoming her.

“Lord Herne," Jasmine prayed for the first time since she'd been a mere slip of a girl, forced into attending Sunday School. “From this day forwards, I pledge I will be your chosen vessel. A conduit between yourself and those humans who would seek to honor and venerate you, as I have. With my unwavering faith, I will defend your realm, become your mortal champion of the ancient ways, a bridge between the mortal and the divine, so mote it be..."

In the distance, Jasmine heard the quiet bugle of an Elk – her smile that spread across her face was undeniable, as she bowed her head, then returned to where she'd made camp – assured in herself and her newfound beliefs...
