In the neon haze of RainGlow, lonely drakewolf Ashe is mesmerized by Kodi, a snow leopard go-go dancer shining with hedonistic allure. But as fantasy dances with reality, can monochrome and technicolor flow into a syncopated rhythm?

>> Author's Notes

Throughout my life I've gotten to enjoy the nightlife in a number of different ways. Taking the train into Manhattan, going to venues in MMORPG's, and otherwise letting myself experience the magic once and again. Some of my fondest memories were made underneath the strobe lights and smoke. For a while I even worked as a dancer at an online club in FFXIV, enjoying good friends, good vibes, and PLUR.

This fluffy story is a love letter from this cotton candy raver of yesteryear to all sparkledogs and neon dreamers, and the love and laughter I've shared. Cheers!

Emerald eyes traced the rim of an empty bottle, counting losses. One more drink. One more excuse to stay.

The bass thundered through RainGlow's neon-drenched atmosphere, each beat a promise of connection unfulfilled. Ashe's broad shoulders hunched over the bar, the drakewolf's white and black fur catching prismatic fragments from the dance floor's kaleidoscope. A grey sleeveless hoodie stretched across muscles and scales, while his wings stayed folded tight against his spine, as if afraid to take up space. His tail, a mix of draconic grace and wolfish fluff, twitched nervously against worn jeans with each bass drop. Around him, the night pulsed with endless possibility.

Without him.

Time and again he's convinced to come along, it'll be fun, he'll meet someone cute. And yet each time his supposed friends dissolve into the writhing crowd, leaving him alone to nurse his liquid courage and silent yearnings. Why did he keep falling for it? Were they even still here, lost to the rhythm of nameless bodies and neon promises? Or had they already found their own adventures, their own connections, their own moments of belonging that seemed to elude him night after night?

Sigh.

Another night abandoned, forgotten… just like always.

No one wants a wallflower.

He rolled the bottle in his palm, his thoughts a thunderstorm against the glitter and strobe lights. He should leave. Should surrender this night to solitude like so many before. Should just wrap his wings around him and retreat to the safety of his empty apartment. Should have never even bothered…

His stool scraped against the floor as he made to stand, but then…

The lights dimmed.

Silence.

Bass thrummed through the floor, building like an approaching storm. The crowd held its collective breath as neon fractals painted the air in electric dreams. From his DJ booth, Ekko's purple and silver fur caught fragments of light, his green eyes gleaming as he raised his paws to the heavens.

"Y'all ready for this?!" The hyena's voice cut through the sonic tempest. "C'mon everyone, paws up for RainGlow's finest! Give 'em some love!"

The crowd erupted, their energy a living force.

Two platforms rose from the dance floor's edge, bathed in celestial light. A pink bunny emerged on the first in a shower of glitter — all charm and cheek. But it was the second figure that seized Ashe's breath, holding it captive in his chest. He sank back onto his stool, signaling the bartender.

Maybe one more drink wouldn't hurt.

A snow leopard materialized like a cotton-candy dream. Pink and turquoise rosettes painted his fur in watercolor swirls, his electric blue and neon pink hair catching starbursts of light beneath a backwards bubblegum snapback. His lithe form moved with liquid grace, contained yet untamed within a neon harness and shimmering shorts that left little to imagination, yet everything to desire. He was ethereal, magnetic… free.

Every motion told a story of unrestrained joy, of pleasure embraced without shame. The dancer leapt into a flawless backflip, landing with feline precision before slipping into a split that drew howls and whistles from the crowd. His tail coiled around the pole like quicksilver, fingertips trailing along the chrome with teasing delicacy. Each sinuous twist painted raw desire in the air as he spiraled upward, spotted fur shimmering under pulsing light. Muscle and grace intertwined as he ascended higher, every movement a seamless blend of power and elegance.

Ashe's pulse quickened, his chest tight with longing. How different they were — the snow leopard all light and movement, himself anchored to this bar stool by the weight of his own hesitation. Yet something in the dancer's uninhibited spirit called to the parts of himself he kept carefully contained, offering a glimpse of who he could be, if only he dared.

The snow leopard's performance transcended into pure artistry as the crowd roared, drawn into his orbit. With fluid precision, he inverted, legs splitting wide before wrapping around the pole in a slow, deliberate rotation. He hung suspended in the strobing dark, defying gravity on sheer strength alone. His harness caught the lights, scattering color across his chest, while his shorts — taut, stretched across delicious curves — gleamed like wet candy, sinfully sweet. Sweat glistened like starlight on his fur, each droplet a sparkle of pure sexuality.

The music built, and so did he — electricity coursed through his every pose, leaving the crowd breathless and wanting. Mischief sparkled in his teal eyes as he blew teasing kisses to his admirers, each one an invitation to dream.

Then, with deliberate grace, he released his hold.

His descent was poetry, an arc through the air like a shooting star. At the last possible moment, his legs extended into a perfect split, his bubble butt sinking to the floor in a graceful bounce that sent a ripple through the crowd. The stage lights scattered off his fur, leaving him bathed in rainbow hues as he held his pose, savoring their desperate adoration before rising, ready to dazzle them further.

The snow leopard's performance stretched on in a hypnotic blur of songs and spotlights, each routine more mesmerizing than the last. Time dissolved under the pulsing lights, marked only by the soft clink of bottles against the bar and the quickened beat of Ashe's heart whenever those teal eyes flicked in his direction.

Empty bottles lined up beside him like silent confessions, each one a failed attempt at courage. Ashe's gaze stayed locked on the stage, transfixed by every graceful arc of movement, every flirtatious smile, every fleeting moment the dancer's gaze seemed to linger his way. Each glance sent a quiet thrill through him, a spark of possibility that fizzled into the neon haze.

One more drink. One more song. One more moment to imagine himself walking up to him after the show, a little less shy, a little more sure.

The final set wound down, and the dancers took their bows to thunderous applause. Ashe's gaze followed the snow leopard as he wove through the crowd, a spirit of revelry in every step. Admirers reached out with reverent paws, offering touches and praises that he accepted with playful grace. Ashe was lost in the sight — this dreamlike figure, sweet and fluffy, all soft allure and easy warmth. Exactly what he wanted. Exactly what he needed. He was…

…headed this way?

Ashe's heartbeat quickened, a slow rise of heat up his neck. Did he see him in the crowd? Was he actually…

“No," Ashe sighed wistfully, steadying himself. “Just working the crowd."

And yet… he was closer. Closer than he'd dared to dream.

He froze, inhaling.

Sweet sweat and cotton candy.

And then — he was here.

Suddenly, impossibly close. Close enough for Ashe to see the delicate silver ring in his left ear, the playful glint in his teal eyes, the messy strands of cyan and magenta flitting over his brow, the slight part of his lips as he leaned on the bar…

"Hey, superstar! Having fun, Kodi?" Iggy asked, the wolfen bartender's voice a playful tease.

Kodi.

The name settled in Ashe's chest like poetry.

"You know it," Kodi replied, his voice a playful melody that danced above the bass. He leaned against the bar with effortless grace, fur and flesh close enough for Ashe to see perspiration glimmering, glistening.

The snow leopard's presence commanded attention, each subtle movement a story written in body and soul. The bass thrummed through Ashe's chest as he watched, transfixed, while neon light painted Kodi in ever-shifting hues. His lithe form was a masterpiece of contrasts — hard muscle beneath soft fur, wild spirit contained within calculated poise. Straps and spots traced forbidden paths across his body, each one an invitation Ashe's eyes couldn't help but follow.

So. Very. Close.

Close enough to touch, if he dared. Close enough to trace that harness with trembling fingers, to feel the heat radiating from spotted fur. To run his paws down his sweaty back, fingers lost in pink and blue, exploring every curve until they found that perfect, rounded ass straining against those barely-there shorts. Lycra? No, glossy and tangy latex, with just a touch of sugar. Such a perfect fit for such a beautiful body.

A metallic flash drew his gaze, teasing across that perfect curve of desire. A zipper, of all things, ran down the back of those shorts, tightening the rubber to the dancer's silhouette sinfully so. The detail was absurd, mesmerizing, sexy

Ashe forced himself to turn away, wings trembling with the effort of restraint. Kodi wasn't here for him — he was just an employee taking a break, doing his job, entertaining the masses. Yet his paws ached to reach out, to trace that zipper's path, to discover what that delicious fabric had the pleasure of caressing. His tail twitched with barely contained need as the snow leopard's tail swayed mere inches from his own, close enough to curl theirs together, to…

"Make me a cotton candy martini?" Kodi asked, stretching languidly against the bar. The motion pulled defined abs taut and pronounced his bulge just so, a shimmering suggestion that invited hungry gazes from nearby patrons. Ashe couldn't help but let his gaze slip over, mesmerized, lost in admiring, lost in desire. He was so beautiful, so untouchable, so...

"Here," Iggy remarked, sliding a bottle of water over. "This first, or you're gonna get overheated, you little fluffball."

Kodi rolled his eyes, taking the bottle in his paw. His throat worked as he drank, water trailing down his chin in rivulets that Ashe ached to trace.

Iggy moved in a blur of expertise, crafting art in a glass. Ice clinked. Liquid glimmered. The martini appeared before Kodi like magic, pink and swirling as the dancer himself. The soft moan of pleasure that escaped his lips as he sipped echoed through Ashe's soul.

Then…

Oh.

Teal eyes met emerald.

A single droplet of sweat trickled down, splashing onto the bar counter.

"Hey there," Kodi said, his voice carrying through the thundering bass. "How's it going?"

Ashe's tongue forgot words. His mind scattered like light through crystal. The snow leopard waited, head tilted, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Planning on staring all night?"

Heat bloomed across Ashe's cheeks, burning beneath white fur. His tail jerked about, useless. His mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. And then…

"I, uh... noticed your... your shorts have a zipper on the butt…."

His eyes grew wide. His wings curled inward. His entire body blanched.

He'd had a good life.

But instead of offense or disgust, Kodi's laughter burst forth like sunshine through storm clouds. Tears gathered at the corners of his eyes as he steadied himself against the bar. "Oh, they absolutely do," he managed between chuckles, setting his empty glass down with a musical clink.

When he turned back to Ashe, his eyes held something new. Something electric.

"You… I like you," Kodi purred, "how about joining me on the dance floor?"

The invitation trembled through Ashe's body like electricity. His nod was automatic, instinctive, as if his body knew what his mind still feared to acknowledge. Kodi's paw found his, warm and sure, leading him into the pulsing heart of RainGlow. Bodies parted before them like a neon sea, the crowd instinctively yielding to the dancer's magnetic presence. Above, DJ Ekko's beats painted the air with liquid rhythm, each note a promise of something more.

Ashe's breath caught as Kodi turned to face him, teal eyes luminous in the strobing lights. The snow leopard moved like music made flesh, each gesture an invitation Ashe ached to accept. Awkwardly, he tried to match the rhythm, to savor the moment despite his own self-consciousness. Then Kodi leaned in, his breath warm against Ashe's neck. In that moment the world compressed to a bubble of shared breath and possibility.

"Don't think," Kodi whispered, fingers splayed against Ashe's heart. "Just feel."

His paws found Ashe's hips, guiding them into the rhythm. Heat bloomed where they touched, spreading like wildfire through Ashe's veins. Somehow, he exhaled. Their bodies swayed together. Distance began to dissolve.

Close… closer…

There.

Kodi's body pressed against his, fur against fur, heat against heat. The harness across his chest caught the light as he moved, creating prismatic patterns that hypnotized. Fluorescent effervescence drowned the drakewolf. His scent — sweet sweat and desire — filled Ashe's lungs with each breath.

The crowd faded. The music softened.

Time stretched like honey.

Ashe's paws found courage, tracing the paths of Kodi's harness, feeling muscle shift beneath fur. Each touch sparked new confidence, new hunger. The snow leopard's approving purr vibrated through both their bodies, urging him to let go, to be free. With each beat, Ashe's movements grew surer, his body finding its own rhythm against Kodi's practiced grace. His wings, once tight against his back, began to sway with their dance, catching fragments of light like living shadows.

"You've been holding out on me," Kodi breathed, his body rolling against Ashe's in a way that drew a soft gasp. "Who knew the shy guy at the bar could move like this?"

Heat painted Ashe's cheeks, but his body didn't stop. Couldn't stop. The rhythm had him now, had them both, moving together like they'd danced this dance a thousand times before. Kodi spun in his arms, pressing his back to Ashe's chest. His tail twined with Ashe's, an intimate touch that sent shivers down both their spines. The snow leopard's head fell back against Ashe's shoulder, exposing the elegant line of his throat.

The music built.

The light's swirled.

In a surge of confidence, Ashe's paws found Kodi's waist, strong and sure.

This was all he'd ever wanted.

Ashe dipped him low, Kodi's body arching like living art. The snow leopard's fingertips grazed the dance floor, sending ripples of neon light cascading up his arm, painting his spotted fur in electric dreams. His other paw held tight to Ashe's shoulder, trusting, wanting. Their eyes locked, heartbeats suspended in the strobing dark.

Then Ashe pulled him up, slow and deliberate, their bodies flowing together like liquid mercury. Kodi's form melted against his chest, breathless, his teal eyes wide with delighted surprise. The snow leopard's head fell back against Ashe's shoulder once more, but this time with a purr that vibrated through them both.

Their dance became something else entirely — not performance, not seduction, but pure connection. Each movement wrote promises on heated skin. Each breath shared secrets too deep for words.

Their hearts thundered.

Kodi's paw found the back of Ashe's neck, pulling him down until their foreheads touched. Their eyes met in the strobing dark, holding conversations without words. Around them, the crowd might have been watching, might have disappeared entirely — neither noticed, neither cared.

"Still worried about my shorts?" Kodi teased, his lips ghosting against Ashe's jaw.

A laugh bubbled up from somewhere deep in Ashe's chest, surprising them both. "Maybe we should investigate further," he heard himself say, amazed at his own boldness. Kodi's eyes widened, delight dancing in their depths. His tail tightened around Ashe's, a silent approval that sent heat coursing through both their bodies.

So close… want… need…

Still the drakewolf hesitated, trapped between desire and doubt. Kodi's teal searched gold, waiting, expecting. A flash of mischief sparked in those teal eyes before Ashe could react. A quick tug of his tail, and suddenly they were chest to chest, every muscle and contour interlocking like a puzzle completed.

"Oh, definitely," Kodi purred, his free paw sliding up Ashe's neck to cradle his jaw. He paused, just for a moment, their breath mingling in the electric space between them. Then his lips found Ashe's, hungry and sure.

The world spun. The lights blurred.

Everything was Kodi.

Ashe's world drifted away, caught on a singular thought.

More.

The kiss deepened, grew wild. Kodi's tongue traced the seam of Ashe's lips, seeking entrance that Ashe eagerly granted. Their tongues danced, tasting cotton candy sweetness and raw desire. Ashe's paws found Kodi's waist, pulling him closer, closer, until there was no space left between them.

Kodi's fingers tangled in the white and black fur at Ashe's nape, careful of his horns as he changed the angle, making the kiss deeper, needier. His other paw traced patterns down Ashe's chest, following the natural flow where fur met scales, drawing a soft growl from deep in Ashe's throat.

They broke apart, panting, only to crash together again. This kiss was different — slower, exploring, learning each other's rhythms. Kodi nipped playfully at Ashe's lower lip, soothing the sting with his tongue. Ashe's wings trembled with each touch, their black and silver surfaces catching fragments of strobing light.

Electricity coursed through Ashe's veins, every nerve alive with sensation. The world narrowed to points of contact — Kodi's body against his, the press of harness against his hoodie, the heat that bloomed wherever they touched. This wasn't just desire. This was awakening.

Kodi's paws found their way beneath Ashe's hoodie, tracing the contours of his broad, draconic, wolfen frame. Each touch sent shivers through his white and black fur, drawing soft gasps that were lost in the thundering bass. The snow leopard's exploration was reverent, mapping the territory where wolf met dragon — the subtle ridge of scales along his sides, the powerful muscles that spoke of both species' strength.

In this moment, Ashe felt seen. Accepted. Desired.

Their bodies moved in perfect synchronicity, Kodi's lithe form flowing against Ashe's broader build. The snow leopard's paws traced paths of fire across Ashe's chest, teasing at the zipper there. With deliberate slowness, he drew it down, exposing the mix of fur and scales beneath to the strobing lights.

Ashe's eyes glazed over.

The crowd around them faded to shadows.

The music became distant thunder.

There was only this moment.

Only them, only now, only more.

Kodi's lips found Ashe's ear, careful of his horns as he whispered, "Let me give you something." His breath was warm, promising secrets and pleasure in equal measure. "Something special."

Yes.

Ashe could only nod, his emerald eyes half-lidded with desire. His wings fluttered with anticipation, monochrome catching fragments of light. Every point of contact between them sparked with possibility, with promise.

Kodi descended, trailing kisses like embers down Ashe's neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin. He paused at each nipple, drawing out a gasp from deep within Ashe's chest before continuing his journey south. His tongue flicked out, tasting the salt and sweet of sweat beaded on Ashe's scales and fur. He lingered at the drakewolf's stomach, tracing the ridges of muscle with his tongue, before venturing lower.

With a mischievous grin, Kodi unclasped Ashe's belt, slipping it away with a fluid, practiced motion. He reached for the drakewolf's baggy jeans, paws stroking the worn material, feeling the heat and promise beneath. He slipped the buttons free, one by one, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of what lay beneath. His fingers traced the outline of Ashe's hardening cock, straining against the confines of his boxers.

"Pink with red hearts," Kodi murmured, amusement and desire in his voice. "Cute."

Ashe's cheeks flushed, heat spreading beneath his white fur. He'd never felt this before — this intensity, this desperation. He was the nice guy, the one others passed over for thrills and daring. Somewhere between clumsy confessions and silent rejections, Ashe felt destined to be alone forever. And yet, Kodi… this dancer, this strobe light of aggression… he took what he wanted.

And right now, he wanted Ashe.

The snow leopard leaned in, nuzzling the heat radiating from Ashe's crotch. He inhaled his musky, taking in his unique scent. His tongue darted out, tracing the outline of Ashe's cock through the thin satin. Ashe shuddered, his breath hitching in his throat, a gasp escaping his lips. His body tensed, anticipating, wanting, needing.

Kodi teased the waistband of Ashe's boxers, tugging them down slowly, deliberately. The drakewolf's cock sprang free, thick and heavy, already dripping with desire. Kodi wrapped his paw around it, squeezing gently, feeling the pulsing heat beneath his touch. He looked up at his dance partner, a coy smirk playing on his muzzle.

"You're blushing," Kodi teased, his thumb circling the tip. "When was the last time someone made you feel like this?"

"Um… well…" Ashe's voice caught in his throat, strangled by desire.

Kodi's grin widened, a promise of pleasure and mischief. "Let's fix that."

Kodi's tongue painted delicate patterns along Ashe's inner thigh, slipping over that crease where hip meets groin, sending shivers rippling through his frame. The snow leopard's muzzle ghosted over Ashe's sensitive skin, every touch electric, before finally reaching his heavy sac. With gentle care, Kodi released Ashe's balls from their confines, freeing him, the weight filling his mouth as he lapped gently, teasingly.

Ashe surrendered to the pleasure, groaning, his mind dissolving into a haze of sensation as Kodi took him deeper. That teasing tongue, that playful, pleading gaze — Kodi's boyish charm on full display as he worshipped at Ashe's altar. A soft paw on Kodi's cap, a silent claim, and Kodi yielded with a playful glint, a silent invitation to take, to own.

And Ashe did.

Ashe gripped Kodi's skull as the snow leopard devoured the length of Ashe's cock, his mouth ravenous, his hunger relentless. Hips thrusting, silent commands tumbling from Ashe's lips, and Kodi took it all, his head thrown back in abandon as his muzzle worked its magic. Tease and torment, release and denial, a sensual symphony as maw and member played in harmony.

Kodi's passion-fueled grasp held firm as he drank in Ashe's essence, his tongue a conductor of ecstasy. The drakewolf trembled, pleasure coiling, intensifying, until he stood on the precipice, his control dangling by a thread. Kodi, merciless in his devotion, pushed Ashe further, his need a tangible force, his desire a wild thing.

Take me!

With a slow, sultry swivel, Kodi offered himself, a deliberate tease of a motion. He drew his tail up and around, needily, _greedily _as it hugged around Ashe's leg in silent claim. The hybrid's breath caught as he took in the curve of Kodi's bubblegum butt, the swell of sweet muscle, a promise, a provocation. He truly was the perfect dance partner.

Ashe's fingers, trembling now, found the zipper. A subtle whisper as the metal teeth parted in time with the pulse his heart. The latex, tight and glistening, slipped aside, revealing Kodi's tight pucker, the material hugging every curve as it clung possessively around his hips and heat. The tang of sweat and musk wafted about, clouding Ashe's thoughts as his paws explored Kodi's ripe, perfect ass, the soft globes yielding to his grip.

Kodi's needy moans, the music, this singular moment of transcendence. Everything fueled Ashe's boldness.

Tonight was a dance of ecstasy.

Guided by impulse, Ashe claimed Kodi's supple hips, his claws digging into firm flesh. The resistance, the heat, the scent — it overwhelmed, consumed. Their motions, now in harmony, guided Ashe's rigid cock to Kodi's entrance.

Kodi's breath caught, a sharp inhale, as he surrendered to the sensation of being parted, opened. An electric thrill coursed through him, a silken invasion that drew a responding gasp from Ashe. The snow leopard arched, a sinuous offering, as he felt the broad head's ridges, the hybrid's cock filling him, completing him. His eyes closed, breath coming in short pants, surrendered to the rhythm of their night. Their bodies moved in unison, a dance both mesmerizing and fluid, every motion in perfect harmony. The gentle plap plap of balls slapping against taint, bouncing against the stretch of rubber, was music to the feline's ears. Kodi pulled Ashe inexorably closer, their bodies locked as their pleasure built, cresting, cascading into waves of bliss.

The world beyond their fervent embrace ceased to exist. Suspended. Pulsing neon lights, the echo of the DJ, the crowd's buzz — all vanished. Time's grip loosened as the intensity between them surged, each needy thrust binding them, entwining them to this singular sensation. Ashe's thrusts, ardent and wild, sent electricity through Kodi's tight little body, a flickering strobe in the darkened club. Bodies arched, a language of their own, shouting secrets in the most breathless of whispers. Their union, a transcendent symphony, defied reason, plunged them into a realm where only desire reigned supreme.

"How... how does it feel?" Ashe panted, voice raw, the question almost a plea.

"Guh!" Kodi moaned, his body alive, ablaze for this sexy beast. "Great! So full… don't stop…"

An inferno of fevered need ignited within Ashe, his hips pounding with primal urgency. His cock glided smoothly, his body undulating against his prize. Waves of energy crashed over them, crackling electricity, their bodies a maelstrom of lust. The sheer pleasure, the depth of their connection, drove them to the very brink.

Kodi's body, pliant, molded to Ashe's cock, an extension of their frenzied dance. Every muscle, every nerve, sang in rhythm, eyes wide, joy unbound. The snow leopard's inner walls quivered, tightened, a silken vise, as Kodi rode the waves of pleasure, surrendering to the tempest.

Ashe teetered on the precipice, every fiber of his being alive with raw, untamed desire. Fire coursed through his veins, igniting a wild beast that demanded release. With frantic urgency, he thrust, their bodies moving in perfect harmony, a symphony of urgent need. Kodi's inner walls contracted, a tight embrace, drawing Ashe deeper as they pushed relentlessly toward the sublime.

Together, as one, they plummeted into a blissful abyss. Muscles tensed, claws scraped against the floor, marking the frenzied rhythm of their dance as they surrendered to the tempest raging within. Kodi's sneakers squeaked, his feet digging in for purchase as he braced for exquisite inevitability.

A final thrust, a feral roar, and then…

Paradise.

Balls, taut as pulled taffy, released. A pulsing, heated deluge claimed Kodi, filling him, marking him. The snow leopard's insides, drenched in Ashe's seed, quivered, a visceral echo. He cried out in maddening ecstasy as he released his own seed into the rubber of his shorts, the hot liquid rapidly filling the sheath, dripping down his legs, spilling onto the dance floor.

Ashe withdrew, his cock slick, the rush of cum spilling from Kodi's hole, drenching the floor with symphonic chaos. The dancer, breath shuddering, reveled in the aftermath, the heat of their joining. Ashe, drunk on the residual heat, the salty-sweet tang, the exquisite mess of their shared passion, crumpled in awe of their tempestuous union. In a tangle of limbs, they collapsed, the club a distant memory, their only thoughts on one another. Drawn irresistibly, like planets bound by gravity, their lips met, a whispered encore, a silent promise of more.

It was perfection.

Kodi, ever playful, nipped Ashe's lower lip. The pair of lovers chuckled, lingering in this moment, staying for just a little longer. But the snow leopard's expression shifted, concern shadowing his features. Kodi began snapping his fingers before Ashe, the hybrid's eyes unfocused and dreamy.

"You okay there?" Kodi asked, snapping his fingers again.

"Never better," Ashe mumbled, his words slurring. The world, for a moment, paused, suspended in their embrace. Perfect. Wonderful.

Snap

How long…

Snap… snap!

"How long?" Kodi's voice drifted through the haze, that sexy purr now tinged with... concern? His paw was on his hip, that perfect hip Ashe had just been gripping, had just been...

Fingers snapping... the hard barstool beneath him, not the dance floor... the bottle in his grip, his jeans still on, not...

Ashe's eyes raked over Kodi. He's sweaty, but not that kind of sweaty…

"How long has he been like this, Iggy?" Kodi's smooth purr of a voice twisted into a growl that demanded answers.

Iggy's ears flattened. "I dunno… I only gave him a Fireball!" The wolf's tail swished nervously. "And… maybe two more beers. Maybe three?" Kodi's pretty mouth hung agape. "What?! He's a big guy. He'll be fine, he just got all quiet and dreamy while watching you dance."

"He's freakin' drunk, man," Kodi huffed, turning back to Ashe. "You okay? You here with a friend or anything? Got a ride home tonight?"

Ashe blinked, struggling to piece together what was real and what was dream. The fantasy shimmered away like glitter in the air, sweet and melancholy. Gone was the dance floor beneath him, and yet… here was the pretty snow leopard, here for him. Ashe gripped the bottle tighter, his eyes brightening, dazed with daydreams and bliss.

"Oh, more than okay," Ashe slurred, grinning at Kodi. "You're... you're so pretty… pretty kitty… you know? You have no idea." He waggled a finger out toward the crowd. "Ya know, I told 'em all, like woo you're so hot…"

"Yeah. Thank you very much," Kodi smiled, exchanging a look with Iggy, professional distance settling over his features. Another drunken admirer, here to confess his love to the eye candy, just like all the rest. "You need us to call you a taxi?"

"Seriously, listen to me," Ashe continued, pointing at his eyeball, hiccupping slightly. "I ain't never seen anyone like you. I wanna see you again, you know... not here. Like, we could go do somethin'..."

Kodi's expression softened. "That's very kind of you to say, but I'm not really looking for..." He let himself trail off, his ears twitching, perking at something… splintering.

"What's up?" Iggy said, but Kodi held a finger up, as if to quiet the very world.

Glass. Bottle. Krrrrrrrk…

His eyes widened.

"No."

KSSSSSH!

The bottle exploded in Ashe's grip, a crystalline burst of shards and scarlet. Time slowed, twisted glitter scattering, fragments catching neon as they spiraled through the air, slicing through fur and flesh with unforgiving grace. Red painted the bar in abstract splatters, each droplet a story of pain he was too drunk to read. The snow leopard was already moving, instincts faster than the falling glass, dancer's reflexes sparing him from the crimson rain.

"Holy shit!" Iggy yelped, already reaching for the phone. His fiery spikes caught the strobing lights as he turned away, fingers flying across the buttons.

But Ashe just watched, entranced by the way each droplet caught the light.

Pretty. Sparkly.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" Kodi's voice cut through the haze, sharp with worry. He lunged forward, snatching a clean bar towel. His movements were fluid, purposeful, as he wrapped Ashe's bleeding paw. "Iggy, call…!"

"Already ringing," the wolf interrupted, phone pressed to his ear. "Yes, hello? We need an ambulance at RainGlow..."

The white cloth bloomed red beneath Kodi's fingers. Each heartbeat pulsed more crimson through the fabric, painting new patterns of worry across the snow leopard's features. His paws were steady, sure, even as panic danced in those teal eyes.

"You're beautiful when you're worried," Ashe mumbled, a dopey grin spreading across his muzzle.

"Fuck, man, you're bleeding!" The snow leopard cried out.

"Aw, that's okie dokie," Ashe muttered, blinking his eyes slowly, taking Kodi's paw in his own. "We could be vampires together. They sparkle ya know, kinda like you… messy but... kinda romantical... don'tcha think?"

"This isn't funny," Kodi snapped, yanking his paw back, fear and absurdity softening his edges. He pressed harder against the wound, trying something, anything to stem the tide of red. "Stay with me, okay? Just... just stay awake."

Ashe closed his eyes slowly, the scintillating kaleidoscope around him fading into psychedelia.

The world tilted. Spun.

Dizzy…_ floating_…

"Good night."

Ashe slumped forward, his broad frame caught in Kodi's arms before he could hit the bar. Through the darkness creeping at the edges of his vision, he caught one last glimpse of those worried teal eyes. The last thing he registered was the snow leopard's essence — sweet sweat and sugar and rainbows — before consciousness melted away like cotton candy in summer rain.

Bass still throbbed in Kodi's earbuds as he flipped nonchalantly through a weathered waiting room magazine. He hadn't stopped to change after the ambulance left — couldn't really. Someone needed to make sure the drakewolf got home safe, right? At least, that's what he told himself as he'd followed the flashing lights through empty streets, and helped Ashe check into the emergency room. Good for business. Deed of the day. Something like that.

That had been some hours ago, though…

So, here he sat, like the good boy he is, a splash of neon rebellion against a different kind of nightlife. Harsh fluorescent lighting saturated his cotton candy spikes, his harness gleaming chrome against spotted fur. Every restless shift made his latex shorts squeak defiantly against the hard plastic seat. Sin and sensation still clung to his fur, an audacious fragrance he normally wore with pride.

But here, under sterile lights instead of strobes, his turquoise and pink rosettes seemed almost too vibrant, too alive for such a clinical space. Ever since he arrived he wanted to get out of here. Hushed murmurs of hospital staff and visitors alike hummed around him, judging him, staring him down. Sideways glances pressed against him, scandalized indignation and hungry curiosity in twisted harmony… some, perhaps, a bit _too _curious.

Whatever. He was hot.

Actually, he was chilly in this over-airconditioned lobby, but at least he had a natural coat.

Tick. Tock.

Sigh.

Each glance at the wall clock stretched minutes into eternities. His hat spun in his fingers, his legs bounced rhythmically — a dancer's restlessness trapped in institutional silence. Ashe probably needed stitches, who knows what else. Kodi flipped another page, half-hearted interest flickering as his tail twitched against the chair until…

A shadow fell across his magazine. Lingered. Loomed.

"Heeeey sugar, how much you charging?"

Kodi's magazine crinkled in his grip, his ears twitching. A literal cat call? Here? Now? Seriously?

"You can't afford me, honey," he purred without looking up, his tail flicking dismissively.

The shadow retreated, but the weight of judgment remained. Another sidelong glance from a nurse. Kodi met her eyes, daring her to say something. So what if he looked like temptation incarnate? He didn't ask for the attention, not here. People came to his club in nurse costumes all the time. There, they're looking for the attention, so whatever?

He had other things to worry about. Like why he cared so much about making sure a certain drakewolf got home safe. He leaned back, teal eyes finding refuge in the ceiling's blank canvas.

Why did he care?

Ashe appeared around the corner, fresh bandages wrapped around his paw, forearm cradled close to his chest. His steps were uncertain, eyes downcast, clouded by disappointment. His broad shoulders hunched inward, shrinking him, white scales glinting with fading luster as he winced both in shame and pain over everything that had gone wrong.

But then, he smelled it.

Cotton candy.

Reality crashed over him like a wave as he looked up, and found Kodi. His eyes brightened a little to behold such a welcome sight. The snow leopard had waited here all this time, surrounded by sterile walls and judging eyes, just for him.

Kodi tossed the magazine aside and settled his cap back on his head, rising with practiced grace. Latex and neoprene clung to his curves effortlessly, each movement a symphony of soft squeaks and scintillations. The sweet hint of spun sugar and warm honey that followed him drifted through the antiseptic air, wrapping around Ashe like a familiar embrace.

Their eyes met.

The emergency room faded away, if but only for a moment.

"Thank you for staying," Ashe whispered.

Kodi exhaled, a gentle smile warming his features as he shrugged slightly. Then, with fluid grace, he extended his arm — a gentlemanly gesture, a wordless offer, an anchor in this sterile sea of uncertainty. Ashe hesitated, heat blooming beneath white fur, before accepting the support with a shy smile. For a moment the ache in his arm seemed distant and small.

Together they made their way through sliding doors into the fading night, the crisp air kissing them in unison, carrying away the last traces of antiseptic and shame. Ashe hesitated at the top of the steps, scanning the parking lot's sea of mundane vehicles.

"So... which one's yours?"

Kodi's tail swished playfully against Ashe's leg. "Take a wild guess."

"Something subtle and understated, I'm sure."

The snow leopard's laugh sparkled in the fading night.

Kodi's car pulsed against the hospital's stark reality like a synthwave dream. Electric blues kissed vibrant pinks across sleek curves, while crystalline patterns danced beneath the clear coat — digital rivulets flowing over aerodynamic muscle. Black leather embraced the interior, highlighted by strips of LED that painted the cabin in cotton candy hues. The dash looked ripped from a spaceship, all touch screens and holographic displays swimming in ethereal light. The whole thing reeked of speed and sex and sugar.

"Is there nothing about you that doesn't scream cotton candy?" Ashe breathed in wonder.

Kodi laughed as he leaned against the driver's door, speckled fur glinting as it caught the pre-dawn light. "Gotta keep it sticky sweet, don'tcha think?"

They slipped in, the comfortable embrace of leather and neon bringing them right back to Kodi's world, and everything Ashe had been hoping for. The engine purred to life beneath them, lo-fi beats spilling from hidden speakers. As Kodi guided them away from the hospital's harsh fluorescence, its sterile whiteness dissolved in the rearview mirror. Ahead, the city waited, bathed in the gentle kiss of dawn.

The drive to Ashe's place stretched between them like taffy, thick with unspoken words and missed opportunities. His bandaged paw rested awkwardly in his lap while his good hand fidgeted with the seatbelt strap, claws catching on the fabric. Beneath fur and scales, embarrassment burned hot enough to fog the windows. Every half-formed thought, every tentative glance toward the snow leopard died in his throat, strangled by the certainty that he'd somehow ruined everything. That this beautiful creature beside him, this embodiment of everything he'd been too afraid to reach for, would just fade away into another "what if."

Kodi felt a growing urge to break the stifling silence. He cast a glance at Ashe, who seemed to shrink in his seat despite his large frame. He cleared his throat, his vibrant hair catching the faint glow of streetlights passing by. With an awkward half-smile, he ventured, "So... why did the vampire get a job at the blood bank?"

Silence.

"Because he wanted to work somewhere with a bite to eat!" He chuckled, gently ribbing the drakewolf.

Ashe groaned, his face flushing beneath white fur. The joke landed like lead, heavy with the weight of everything that had gone wrong tonight.

Dawn's first whispers painted the sky in cotton candy hues as Kodi's car glided to a stop outside Ashe's building. The night's strange journey was almost over, yet an electric charge lingered in the pre-morning air, a sense of something unfinished, unspoken. Ashe's gaze lingered on his apartment, where quiet days and lonely nights ricocheted through his mind, a haunting echo of missed chances.

He closed his eyes, feeling the weight of the world pressing down, scraping the bottom of his gut for a spark, a sliver of courage. Just one moment. He breathed in deeply, the cool morning air filling his lungs, mingling with the remnants of nightlife still clinging to him. The knot in Ashe's stomach tightened as he grasped at any glimmer of boldness, anything, desperately willing himself to break free and take the chance.

Don't think. Just feel.

He exhaled sharply, and turned to the snow leopard. Kodi's eyes shimmered with sunrise as they met his gaze.

It was now or never.

"Will I..." Ashe's voice caught, his throat suddenly feeling like sandpaper. "Will I ever see you again?"

For a moment, time stood still, caught between glitter and glass.

"Of course," he purred, watching Ashe's expression brighten. His grin then turned mischievous. "Your car is still at the club."

"Oh… right, okay," Ashe mumbled, his heart sinking, ears folding down.

Before Ashe could fully process the moment, Kodi leaned over, producing a folded slip of paper and passing it with a cryptic grin. The drakewolf stepped onto the pavement and unfolded it carefully, mindful of his bandaged paw. Written in flowing script was a message, accompanied by a phone number.

"Wild way to meet someone. Let's get together soon, maybe come dance with me at RainGlow? Next time less vampirism. Cheers - Kodi'"

Emerald eyes widened in surprise, his wings fluttering, warmth spreading through his chest.

Joy.

The snow leopard gunned the engine before Ashe could respond, its growl echoing through the empty street like distant thunder. Cotton candy hair whipping in the wind, Kodi launched his technicolor dream machine toward the bubblegum horizon, leaving behind the lingering scent of sugar and latex and freedom.

Standing there, watching the neon tail lights fade into dawn's embrace, Ashe couldn't help but smile. A gentle breeze ruffled his fur, carrying with it drunken confessions and syncopated rhythms. The note crinkled softly in his grip, an invitation to come what may. For once his little world didn't feel so lonely anymore. The promise of cotton candy dreams and neon nights beckoned, glowing brighter than the starlight in the sky.
