Chapter Seventeen of Twenty Two

Spring came to Chastershire and the entire castle grounds seemed to come alive. Green coated everything again. Small buds of new life sprouted in the garden. The windows of the castle finally able to open again with the nice weather. Winter stunted this place but spring seemed to free it again.

Everyone busy working on cleaning their separate areas. Helping remove the thick layer of winter dust. Lilith worked with Poppy, Aspen, and Layla during their week. Dusting, wiping, and replacing old shelves. Two weeks to Lilith's birthday she was so excited to find out what her Master had planned for her.

Lunch time came and Lilith said goodbye to the others as they headed out to the mess-hall. She waited patiently for a few minutes and like clockwork her door opened and Brogdrin appeared. He smiled to her and held out two bagged lunches for them.

“Afternoon Lilly."

“Hello Master."

She returned his smile and came over to hug him.

“You are always so punctual sir. I could set my clock to you."

He chuckled and gave her one of the bags.

“Something I pride myself on. How is your day going?"

“Good Master."

Lilith sat with him at the table and opened her lunch.

“Almost done our spring cleaning sir. I am so glad to have help. I love this library and it makes me happy to keep it in perfect condition."

“I would say I placed you well Little Flower."

Brogdrin smiled to her. Making her heart flutter.

“Sometimes I get lucky."

“I would agree Master."

She said with a laugh. They ate and talked together like always. Lilith just loved spending time with him. As they finished their food Brogdrin cleared his throat to speak.

“I have duties to tend to again, outside of the castle."

Lilith nodded. She picked up his mess then went to dump their trash.

“You won't be gone long, will you Master?"

“You are coming with me."

Brogdrin said gazing over to her. Lilith smiled and looking back over to him asked.

“Really sir?"

“Yes, as my apprentice you go where I go."

Brogdrin touched her hand and smiled to her.

“You have proved yourself to me last time we left the castle."

“This is exciting! Where are we going Master?"

“Tipton Castle. We should be gone no more than a day."

“Can I ask what we are doing?"

Lilith asked moving to sit next to him. Brogdrin sighed but did answer.

“Their king made a deal and I have yet to receive my payment. I have sent quite a few demons to check on them and it seems they are not holding their end of the bargain. I am going to collect."

“What happens if they don't want to give sir?"

“Then I take what I gave them."

“What did you give them Master?"

Brogdrin adjusted in his seat, staring at her. She didn't waver but did move to hold his hand.

“You know I won't think differently of you Master. Tell me."

“It's not a bad deal. The usual of save my crops. We had a harsh winter, you know how that goes."

“What did they offer to you Master, and why did you give them theirs first?"

“Theo offered his prized weapon and sometimes humans need proof before the deal can be finished. I allowed some crops to grow to show my power."

“Why do you want their weapon sir? It can't hurt you can it?"

“No it can't. It's just an older sword but I am trading it to Minerva. What she has it much more valuable to me."

Lilith gave him a confused look, folding her hands in her lap.

“I'm confused Master."

“I'm looking into expanding my prowess on magic so I can get stronger. I am a master of dark magic but still have some things to learn about others. She has one of the ancient books and I want it. Being the annoying sister she is, she has asked to trade with me for Theo's sword."

“So it's a power thing sir?"

Lilith asked. Minerva told her that was what demons wanted above all else. Brogdrin nodded and smiled to her.

“I am a demon. Besides sex that's what we want most."

“Right…"

“I will say."

He chuckled and kissed her.

“I'd pick you over either of them."

“Sir?"

He laughed again and held her hand.

“I'm just saying you are above a great many things for me."

She smiled and looked to him. Her cheeks red.

“Thank you Master. So you want to get stronger? Why not look into getting a soul?"

Brogdrin's smile faded away and his eyes darted between hers.

“How do you know about that?"

“I've talked to Minerva a bit about it sir. I know you don't have one. Although I couldn't tell. You are so sweet and very kind. She says it's because you are so old."

“Remind me to punch her next time I see her."

Brogdrin growled turning away from her. Lilith touched his shoulder and asked.

“Are you upset that I know sir?"

“No I guess you would have figured it out eventually."

He said in a sigh. Lilith turned him back towards her and smiled to him.

“It doesn't matter Master. You are sweet to me and that's what matters."

“You don't think differently of me?"

“No sir. Not at all."

Lilith cupped his face and kissed him.

“I still care for you and I know you care for me."

She watched him smile in her hands, his eyes sparkling.

“Seven months together now."

“Yes sir. You are passing my vetting with every day that goes by. My heart sings for you Master."

He kissed her sweetly then gave a soft sigh.

“Mine too Little Flower. You are unlike any human I have ever met. I wouldn't trade you for one of my own kind."

Lilith giggled and patted his chest.

“Me either. Humans suck."

He chuckled.

“For the most part, I do agree."

><

That night Lilith was busy packing up her bag in Brogdrin's bedroom. They would be leaving the next morning. A little quick for her tastes but it was her Master's duty and not to be questioned.

She grabbed her dagger and sheath to put with her clothes. Gazing down at the sharp blade made from the same metal as her old cot. It made her proud that something that had caused her so much pain now defended her. And her Master. With her last kill it started to feel natural to her. Brogdrin's training helped push her beyond the boundaries of what she thought she was capable of.

Tucking it away she then threw on her nightgown and went to find Brogdrin. He had just finished putting out the lanterns in his living area. Preparing to join her.

“Ready for bed Master?"

He nodded and came to her side.

“Yes, but more ready to hold you until you fall asleep and start making those cute little sounds while you dream."

Lilith of course blushed and took his hand in hers.

“You're sweet. Long as I don't snore your ears off."

She pulled him into the bedroom and closed the door behind him.

“Or hog your pillow. Or push you out of bed."

“You're not strong enough to push me out of bed Little Flower."

He kissed her cheek as he went by to put his robes away. Just smiling away Lilith climbed into bed. She situated herself under the blanket then spoke to him.

“Are we leaving early Master? Like before sunrise?"

“Not that early but before breakfast."

He dressed in his usual shorts for bed then joined her.

“I hate leaving early. I will have some food for you in the carriage so you can eat before we get there. Going right to the castle this time."

“Yes sir. I'm ready."

Brogdrin laid on his side gazing down at her.

“You look ready. Your name suits you. Lilith the Fierce."

“Yes I adore that name sir!"

She balled her hands into fists excitedly.

“It's great that I can stand proudly with you Master. No one would dare speak against my hair or eyes."

He moved to hold her hand.

“Yes, and your blade has now tasted blood. You live up to your name beautifully."

“Full demon title soon sir?"

“Getting there I will say."

He replied with a laugh.

“You've let me tie you up now. Inching ever closer to full status."

“What's next sir? I've read some new books and there is a lot I don't know anything about."

“I haven't decided yet."

Lilith watched him give her a sly smile.

“There is so much I want to do to you Little Flower. It's hard to pick just one."

She quickly adverted her eyes from him and curled up under the blanket. He always knew how to make her squirm.

“I did like you pulling my hair Master. Not strong enough to hurt…it was nice."

“That's just a start. You'll see. For now we rest for our trip tomorrow."

Brogdrin settled down beside her and held an arm out to her. Lilith nudged his arm away then moved to slip her hands into his shorts.

“I don't want to sleep just yet Master. If you're too tired I could just please you."

“Should I make you tired?"

“Yes please sir."

Lilith smiled and kissed him. Toying with his shaft in her hands.

“You don't want me bouncing around beside you while you are trying to sleep."

“Playful thing you."

He moved quickly to pin her beneath him. His rumbling growl making her warm.

“I do enjoy putting you to sleep. Straight to bed after, no “oh let's cuddle until you get hard again Master" crap from you tonight."

Lilith burst out laughing holding her burning cheeks in her hands.

“Alright fine, I hate that you are getting wise to my tricks. I will have to think up more."

“I'll learn them too."

He leaned down and pulled her hands away to kiss her.

“Because you are mine."

Smiling up to him she nodded, watching his handsome smile crinkle the corners of his eyes like she adored.

“Yes Master."

><

Lilith munched on breakfast in the carriage the next morning. It was nice out and Brogdrin had opened the small vents in the windows to let the breeze through. Dressed in her normal clothes she felt like she lived up to her name. Lilith the Fierce. She wanted everyone to know her name now. And when she wore these clothes it always gave her a boost in confidence.

Brogdrin was in his demon form with his purple robes and wooden cane. He looked the part of his name whenever he worked. How his pointed ears looked so similar to horns Lilith would never know. Brogdrin the Great sat beside her now. A greatly feared ancient demon.

Finishing up her food she packed away her trash then took out one of her magic books to read. Brogdrin rumbled beside her catching her attention.

“Calm are we today?"

“Yes sir."

She leaned against him propping her book on her chest.

“No fear, like my Master taught me."

His arm snaked around her and he pressed his muzzle into her neck.

“I am so proud. An hour ride ahead. I hope you've brought a long book."

“Yes sir. I'm getting better at planning for outside trips."

She smiled up to him. Proud of herself even.

“I am an apprentice now. I take my training seriously Master. Both in the castle and out."

“Good. I believe I made the correct choice with you. Do you remember my rules?"

“Let you do the important talking. Keep my head held high. Stay at your side at all times."

Lilith winked at him.

“I got this Master. No fear."

He smiled and hugged her tight.

“Good girl."

><

Tipton Castle was not too different from Tremble. Small shops lined the outside of the castle. Always a grand gate leading inside. Lilith had begun to realize they all were very alike. The coach stopped and Lilith hopped out first. Excited to be an apprentice again.

What she found to be the castle speaker, trotted up to them. A taller thin man. Dressed in fancy clothes he held a book in his right hand. It was his features Lilith didn't trust for a second. Lying thin eyes and a fake smile. She instantly didn't like him.

Brogdrin came out and joined her as the man approached.

“Brogdrin the Great. So kind of you to grace us. My name is Charles, speaker for Tipton Castle and Duke to King Rowden. Our king awaits you. Your apprentice can wait in our main hall."

“You can try and hold her back but know she is named fierce for a reason."

Brogdrin growled to the man. Lilith glared up at the man, moving her hand to the hilt of her dagger. Charles shifted back a bit looking down to her. Surprise coating his face.

“Alright, this way please."

Lilith looked to Brogdrin who rested his paw on the nape of her neck. Silent approval.

“After you."

Lilith followed Charles down a long hallway. Longer than any she had at her home. She could hear Brogdrin's paws clicking on the stone behind her. With every third step she heard his cane end fall. A comforting sound. Knowing he was a mere few steps behind her helped her feel brave.

Finally coming to a big wooden door Charles pushed it open and waved them inside.

“King Rowden."

Lilith went in first. A smaller throne room the wall behind the long marble table was all windows. Shining bright light in all the corners it was a striking contradiction to the hallway. Two chairs sat opposite the long table. Right across from the King.

He wore royal looking robes. Different reds and greens. Lilith found it similar to her Christmas pajamas. He seemed young to be a king. Lanky and thin he lounged in his throne watching them enter.

“Brogdrin the Great and Lilith the Fierce."

“Your name suits you."

Rowden spoke with a sneer in his voice.

“Lilith the Fierce. I asked for just Brogdrin the Great."

“I go where he goes."

Lilith assertively moved across the room and sat in one of the two seats.

“If that's a problem we can go now."

Brogdrin sat beside her without a word. Taking his usual posture of placing his big paws on top of his cane.

“But he's already sat down."

Lilith shook her head leaning back in her seat. Relaxing.

“I guess I am staying then."

Rowden cast her a side eye glance, grinding his jaw together.

“Very well then…"

Charles closed the door behind them with a loud snap. Lilith wasn't even phased by the sound. Relaxing into her seat she watched Charles come around and sit just to the left of his king. Taking his Duke position.

“Our crops have returned to life. So what they say about you is true."

Rowden leaned in on his table. Cupping his fancy glassware in his thin hand.

“I wasn't a believer until now. I thank you. My people thank you."

Brogdrin's lip raised in a soft growl then he spoke.

“I did not travel all the way here for this. I've sent many a messenger here to retrieve what I am owed."

“Yes I will say it is difficult to get you to come out of whatever hole you hide away in."

Rowden lifted his glass and sipped his drink. Lilith sat up and looked to Brogdrin. Expecting him to explode with anger at such words. But his face remained calm as his eyes stared hard.

“Usually only takes someone trying to fuck me over. I am the last stop, now where is my sword?"

Charles moved quickly and set a long sheathed sword on the table. It gleamed in the bright sunlight. The golden casing lined with small gem stones caught Lilith's eye. It was so beautiful looking.

“The sword of Tipton Castle. In return our crops stay health and easily grown for six years."

“That is our deal, yes."

“What if I wanted to change our terms?"

Rowden held the sword in front of him and met Brogdrin's eyes.

“This sword is legendary you know. Wanted by many people and demons alike. I think six years is too short."

“We already agreed."

Brogdrin growled.

“There is no changing."

“I figured since you came all the way out here. We could talk face to face."

“You thought wrong. I do not have time to tend to you humans like this."

“I was offered something even more grand after we made our deal."

Rowden stood up suddenly. Lilith watched Brogdrin for signs. He wasn't nervous, didn't flinch at Rowden's movements. Nothing. He just sat watching, calm and controlled. It helped her remain relaxed. If he wasn't nervous she had no reason to be.

“Someone offered me an army for my sword and you. Brogdrin the Great. A great fool. Coming to a castle in a horse drawn buggy? Your enemies can see you coming from miles away."

“I don't have enemies. They all wind up dead."

Brogdrin's voice was lethal but still somehow so calm.

“You expect to capture me?"

“I already did! You sat right atop a demon trap. Too busy with your little apprentice to notice!"

Rowden laughed manically. Lilith looked down to the floor and noticed a ring around Brogdrin's seat. Written in what looked like Latin, she jumped out of her seat going to him. He stopped her dead holding out his paw. Standing up slowly he reached his full seven and half feet tall. His pointed ears horned atop his broad head. He looked dangerous.

“I am not some low level demon Rowden. I stalked this planet before you humans made up these puny traps. Other's fear your church."

He stepped right out of the demon trap and stood just across the table from Rowden.

“I walk freely through the front doors."

Rowden tossed his clear liquid in Brogdrin's face then jumped behind his throne.

“Holy water demon spawn. Burns like acid!"

Brogdrin let out a sigh and shook his massive head free of the water. Lilith didn't know what to do. Just so stunned. Did he not know who Brogdrin was? The first thing that came into her mind after a few fleeting seconds was to just…get him a towel. She dug into her pocket and held out a napkin to him.

“Sir..."

Brogdrin looked to her and then the napkin. Taking it he grunted and blotted his muzzle and neck.

“Thank you Lilly."

“That was rude Master."

“Yes it was."

Brogdrin's head snapped back to Rowden whose face was filled with panic. He flew across the room suddenly, as if his body was yanked by horses. Charles backed out of his chair holding his hands up in front of him.

“I-I had no part in this."

Brogdrin looked to Lilith who furrowed her brows at him.

“I just don't like his face."

Brogdrin snarled and turned back to Charles. His limbs pinned to his sides and he collapsed to the floor. A locked body. Brogdrin finished dusting the water off his robes then moved to pick up the sword.

“It is time you put some of my teachings into play."

Lilith turned to him confused.

“Me?"

“Yes."

Brogdrin waved a paw and the objects on the table clattered away. Rowden's body floated in thin air then pinned down against the table. His hands and feet bound by some unseen force. His eyes wide in panic he struggled against the invisible chains.

Brogdrin pushed a paw into her back moving her towards the table.

“Remember what I taught you. All the way to the stomach."

Lilith stared down at Rowden. His face blotched with fear. Sweat sticking his hair to his forehead. She pulled her dagger out of her sheath then looked up to Brogdrin.

“What about Charles?"

“I will take care of him for you."

Brogdrin nodded his head and Charles's body moved and contorted into one of the chairs. Held down he just stared in utter awe. Lilith turned back to Rowden who stared back up at her.

“You're human. Like me. Don't do this."

“Don't compare me to you. We are very different."

Brogdrin pushed his nose into Lilith's neck and growled softly to her.

“Enough talk Little Flower. I want to watch you work. Make me proud."

Lilith smiled to him and nodded.

“Yes sir."

Lilith carefully stripped Rowden's royal robes off his chest then started the heart removal process she had done so many times before now. Brogdrin's magic held him down with no problem, allowing Lilith to work flawlessly. Charles screamed and thrashed in his seat. Forced to watch Lilith break ribs and tear away flesh. Rowden's own screams became horse after a few moments. With her skill he stayed alive up until she cut his heart out of his chest. It beat a few more times in the palm of her hand. Sending lightening through her own body. Holding someone's heart was something she had done quite a few times but a beating heart. Something like that was bone chilling.

Brogdrin growled happily beside her and took the heart from her.

“Well done Lilly. A perfect cut and an intact heart. I am so proud."

“Thank you Master."

“Are you kidding me?!"

Charles cried. Brogdrin ignored him and flipped Rowden's body over to expose his back.

“Don't forget your warning."

Lilith carved her name, her full name, into the back of the dead king. Showing everyone who would find this that she was not to be taken lightly. Brogdrin slit Charles's throat then took the sword. Lilith cleaned herself up the best she could then came over to Brogdrin's side. Handing him a few napkins she looked up to him and smiled.

“We both need a bath sir."

He gripped her up quickly and ran his tongue up her neck.

“I don't think we are messy enough yet. Would you do something for me?"

Lilith nodded and set her bag down on a chair.

“Of course Master."

She watched his body morph back into his usual human form. His silvery eyes remained wicked as he smiled to her.

“Undress and lay on that table."

Lilith blushed gazing up at him. Excited by his ideas.

“Am I learning something new Master?"

“More like replaying an old favorite. Do I get a yes?"

“Oh yes sir."

Lilith hopped up on the blood stained table and gave him a sultry smile.

“I don't think I'd ever say no to you. I was trained well."

Brogdrin rumbled with a deep sound as he advanced to her.

“Good girl."

><

Lilith thought to herself during the ride home. Sitting beside Brogdrin after their fun in the castle felt great. She felt like she was an amazing apprentice. Knowing this is what she wanted to do with her life now was very freeing. Adrift in a sea of hopelessness finding land like this had molded her into the person she now wanted to be. Looking to the demon beside her she knew now what she wanted above all else. Trinkets and food be dammed. She wanted to live and work alongside Brogdrin for the rest of time. And do to that as closely and effortlessly as she wanted, she needed to abandon the human side of herself. This would take time though. Much more reading laid in her future before she could even mention this to Brogdrin. Deciding to use this as her birthday wish as well as her yearly service wish. There would be no doubt in her mind. Lilith wanted this.

Turning to face him, Lilith started to boast on how well she did and how excited she was to have left her own mark for everyone to see. She hopped happily in her seat going over what she had done. Brogdrin just laughed and congratulated her each time she paused. Lilith was so proud of herself and felt just amazing. She had done him proue. Knowing good well this would help cement herself in his mind as willing and able to become a demon.

Going into the sixth story Brogdrin stopped her by holding up his hand.

“Little Flower, take a moment to breathe. Please. You are turning red in the face."

Lilith rubbed her cheeks with her hands taking in a few deep breaths.

“Sorry Master. I am excitable."

“I know you are. One reason I like you."

He leaned over and kissed her cheek.

“You did well today. I am very proud. You are taking to demon work better than I thought any human would."

“Thank you sir. I want to be a good apprentice."

“You are doing a fantastic job. I will say I did not expect this to go the way it did. I would not have brought you if I had known Rowden would turn."

“I must prepare for anything sir. This is just training in my eyes. Now you know you can trust me."

Lilith squeezed his hand and smiled to him.

“It may be small but I can always give you napkins when you get holy water splashed in your face sir."

Brogdrin chuckled and pulled her into his side. Hugging her close.

“I appreciate that. Was rude wasn't it?"

“Yes Master."

Lilith replied in a laugh.

“Very rude indeed. Do they not know who you are?"

“I guess not. My name is lost to history books sometimes."

“I am glad none of their traps worked on you. Could anything really capture you Master?"

“No, not really. I'm sure in the infinite world of magic there is some spell somewhere that could bind me but it's buried in so many books I do not worry."

“Sir…"

Lilith turned into him and held his hand in her lap.

“If you are so strong already…a soul wouldn't do you much good would it?"

His silvery eyes studied her for a few moments. She held strong gazing at him. Testing how far she could push this subject.

“There are other reasons I would want one. Why do you keep bringing this up?"

“I am curious sir. Minerva said every demon wants a soul so they can be the strongest. You are already very strong. I know the only way to get one is to have someone love you. Totally and completely."

“Yes."

“She also told me you were unable to get or give one with your last mate. Lexi. You said you loved her."

“This is not something I discuss with anyone."

He sounded different then. Tight and defensive.

“I have given up the thought of ever getting a soul because of her."

Lilith moved slowly closer to him. Dancing her finger tips across his brow she spoke softly.

“What held you back before Master? What kept you from loving with your whole heart?"

Brogdrin let out an exasperated sigh. Looking away from her he shut his eyes.

“It's difficult Lilith…this subject has not been kind to me."

“Just put your trust in me. I told you my worst stories."

Lilith cupped his face and made him look at her.

“Things I've never said aloud to anyone. Put the same trust in me. What happened?"

Brogdrin closed his eyes relaxing into her hands.

“I tell everyone one truth because the real truth hurts too much to repeat or to read in any history book. I thought I had found the one. Fuck the soul I thought Lexi was made for me. She was everything I thought I ever wanted in another person. But I was wrong. Deathly wrong. I forget that demons are the best liars because I myself am one. Don't mean to sound posh but I hold myself to a higher standard than most.

As soon as it came out that we couldn't get souls from each other she changed. Always angry with me or starting fights over nothing. Then I found out that she was only trying to be with me for the soul. She never cared about me, just said what I wanted to hear and acted the part. Play the long game-as she so put it.

I refused to believe it, we had been together for over thirty years. You don't play a game that long and not get attached. But again, I was wrong. I woke up one night to her attacking me and…well you know about my scar."

“Why couldn't you give her a soul?"

“Because I didn't want to kill all the humans."

Brogdrin tore his face away from her. Putting some space between them.

“Lexi and my father. I could never get away from it. End the human race. Destroy all humans. Blah-blah-blah. My whole life. I don't want to do that. From the bottom of my heart I don't and I can't help that I feel this way about it. I have tried. Trust me I have tried to hate humans that much to want to end them but I am just unable. We demons are always portrayed as wanting to destroy mankind and I for one am tired of it. We are not all these man eating beasts from the darkest places of this world. I'm tired of being alone. I'm tired of stalking halls and listening to the screaming sound of silence. I want to be loved. I DESERVE TO BE LOVED!"

He was panting softly now. His eyes closed tightly as his hand curled into a fist.

“And she ruined it for me…"

Lilith's heart broke for him. Everything she had wanted in life he wanted as well. Even more deeply than she thought possible. She went to touch him but thought against it and laid her hands in her lap. Letting out a soft sigh she decided to bare everything to him.

“I-I…l-love you…M…Master…"

Brogdrin shook his head sadly, not meeting her eyes.

“Lilly…"

Taking in an impossibly deep breath she just let go of her fears or nervousness. Lilith wanted to show her hand.

“I do and not in the way a slave loves their master. That isn't real."

She slipped her hand into his and gave it a gentle squeeze.

“I love you Brogdrin."

He finally turned his eyes to her and she couldn't help but smile to him.

“In every way possible and I know it is real…at least for me it is. I was scared to tell you because it's been such a short time and you are a demon. It takes eons to say that word to another person but I will be open and honest with you now. I love you."

“Even with everything I have done?"

“With everything you have done and will do. “

Lilith touched his face just enthralled by him.

“I accept you in every way. I take you as you are. Demon or man that doesn't matter to me."

“You believe it to be true?"

He asked. His eyes so expressive. Tainted with worry.

“That you can love me?"

“I know it to be true."

Lilith turned him back towards her and pressed her hands into her chest.

“My heart sings for you Brogdrin."

Pulling her hands away she formed a small pink heart in her palms. Floating just inches above her skin it sang softly. The sweetest sound. She held it out to him and gave him a smile.

“I love you…see."

Brogdrin held his own hand out to her. His heart was small and covered in black spikes. Lilith danced her pink heart into his hand and she let out a giggle as it started stripping the spikes away. Brogdrin watched intently as she worked and fixed his heart. Soon a blue heart stood before her free of blackness and pain. Lilith laughed and scooped the little hearts up in her hands.

“See Master. I do love you. Really and truly. You do deserve to be loved and I would just adore the chance to be the one who gives it to you."

“I-I don't know what to say…"

Brogdrin just watched her hand. His heart dancing and twirling with hers. Lilith could see calmness return to his eyes. His shoulders not as tight, physically relaxing to her words. She gently gave him back both little hearts and closed his hand around them. Forcing him to look her in the eyes she smiled.

“You won't know until you try. Let me love you Master. I promise I will be good at it."

Brogdrin held her hand tightly and leaned in to kiss her so sweetly.

“Yes Little Flower. I think I could get used to that."

“I don't expect you to say it to me right now either."

Lilith kissed him again rubbing his cheek in her hand.

“You said you weren't ready to give up your heart and I respect that Master. Just know I am ready and willing to lock it away with mine."

A small smile peaked his face and she watched his little blue heart reappear in her hand.

“I am trusting you Lilly. With what little heart I have left."

Lilith nearly snatched the blue heart out of midair. Pressing it into her chest she kissed him quickly.

“I love you Master. I'll protect your heart. I promise."

“I love you too Little Flower. I have ached for this feeling forever."

“A soul?"

“No."

He cupped her face and pulled her into a fierce kiss.

“The feeling of someone willing to be with me…for me. Not for what I have or what I can give you. You don't want a soul, you have one. You must speak truth when you tell me you love me. There is nothing for you to gain. I do love you Lilly, you have passed all my vetting."

“I love you Master. It feels so nice to say it now. I've adored you for so long. I would still like nothing to change between us Master. I want to work in my library and have fun with my sisters while tending to you as the love of my life."

“That sounds perfect Little Flower."

He pulled her into his body. Hugging her tighter than he ever had. Lilith smiled pressing into him. So happy to have found her forever.

><

As soon as Lilith was finished washing up and changing into her worker clothes, she headed straight to find Poppy. She wanted…no. Needed to tell someone, anyone what just happened. Wanting to scream it to every single one of her sisters she passed. She had found the love of her life. And he loved her back when everyone told her that he wasn't able. He did. Trusting him with every fiber of her being it was funny now. For this past year it was like she was living right out of all the books she had ever read. Now with this new found love, it was like a fairy tale.

Finding Poppy working in the upper level of her library she all but exploded to her. Words she had been so afraid to say out loud came out now without thought. How she adored her Master, how she was freed to be able to be at his side, everything. And Poppy just listened and happily agreed with her. Letting Lilith let out her excitement to someone. A wonderful sister.

Full twenty minutes later Lilith finally trailed off her stories to catch her breath. Winded from speaking so quickly and energetically. Poppy took that chance to finally ask a question.

“Does this mean you gave him a soul?"

“Poppy…that's not why I fell for him."

“No I know. Trust me you've said that a few times now."

Poppy just smiled to her.

“I'm just curious is all."

“You're right. I'm sorry. I'm just afraid everyone will think that's why. It's more than just that. And I don't really know if he has one now or not. There wasn't any like bright shining light from the heavens. We just kissed and that was that."

“I wonder if he has one. I'm sure Luca is going to be proud of him. His son all powerful."

“Maybe it will make him like me more."

Lilith mumbled crossing her arms.

“He hates me."

“Well you are a human. Demons don't much like us."

“We don't much like them either. Both sides are angry at each other."

“You know the things he has done to our kind."

Poppy squeezed her shoulder and met her eyes with a stern look.

“All for demon deals. But that's not the point here. I am very happy for you and Master. Knowing you will help him be happy makes me happy."

“Thanks Poppy. It feels nice to talk to someone like this. I really appreciate you helping me along with this. One of my favorite sisters, that's for sure."

“Aw thanks Lil. You're top five for me as well."

“Only top five?!"

“Listen, I've been here a while alright. You should consider yourself lucky. Top five is pretty good."

Lilith laughed but agreed.

“Yeah I guess so. Let's get to dinner. I am starving."

“All that talking you've been doing."

Poppy murmured as she walked by. Lilith rolled her eyes but followed her, happy.

Lilith returned to Brogdrin's room that night. It felt like it had been years since she had seen him. Rushing into the living area she was welcomed by the familiar sight of him in his kitchen. Making them a snack like always. Lilith came right over to his side and smiled to him.

“Hello Master. What are you making for our snack?"

“Sweet rolls."

He leaned down and kissed her cheek as he always did.

“I know you like them and we haven't had them in a while. How was your day? Not that we've been apart for that long."

“Felt like forever Master."

She pushed into his side. Hugging tightly.

“It was good though. Always nice to return to my library and my sisters. I miss them when we are gone."

“I do too. I am always glad to return home to smiling, happy faces."

Brogdrin just let her hold tight to his side as he chuckled. Maneuvering around her body to continue working.

“Would you like to do something soothing tonight? Help you return to your normal activities? We could paint together, or play a game you like."

“No sir."

“Okay. We can take a walk around the lake instead. You are always ready for our snack after a walk."

“I don't want to do that either sir."

She felt him sigh and turn towards her. Keeping her arms around his waist she smiled up to him as he spoke.

“Then what would you like to do tonight?"

“You Master."

She dug her nails into his back watching his gaze grow fierce.

“It's customary to sleep together after two people say they love each other Master. I figured we would/could do the “normal" thing couples do."

“Go at it like rabbits?"

Brogdrin growled down to her. Lilith blushed but nodded her head up and down. Trying to stay brave and tell him what she wanted.

“Yes Master. I want to look up to you, shaking and a mess, to whisper I love you."

She was surprised when his body shivered in her arms. First time she had felt him react to her words. Almost like she does with his. Hands ran down her back pulling her closer into him.

“I'd like that a lot."

Lilith smiled rubbing her face into his clothes.

“I thought you might. I also want another bite mark Master."

“Oh? Like being marked as mine?"

“Yes sir."

She looked up to him and gave her best smile.

“Because I'm the only one who gets to bare that mark and I love it."

He chuckled and kissed her forehead sweetly.

“You say these sweet things to me and I do not understand how I didn't know you loved me before. I am very perceptive and pride myself on that. How did you slip through my senses so easily Little Flower?"

Lilith took his hands in hers and met his eyes.

“You weren't ready to accept that I could. You tell everyone you are fine and have moved on from your past but you are still hurt by it. Hurt enough to be blinded."

“Well…aren't you wise now."

Brogdrin growled and kissed her hands.

“But you are correct. I am hopeful for this and feel better than I thought I would. Damn you Little Flower. Cracking into my shell. You really are quite fierce."

Lilith smiled wickedly to him. Her pride swelling her chest.

“Yes Master. I sleep comfortably where men fear to tread."

“My fierce Little Flower."

He kissed her then turned back to his sweet rolls.

“Well since you are asking for me to…how did they put it again?"

“Blow my back out sir!"

“Ah right."

He chuckled and glanced to her.

“How could I forget. But since we are doing that I can save the sweet rolls for tomorrow night."

Lilith nodded and gripped up his shirt.

“I already bathed when we came back so I'm nice a clean Master. We can go to bed now."

“Eager?"

He growled to her. Nodding again she pulled him down to kiss him.

“Very. You've trained me well, are you surprised?"

“No I suppose not. Grateful."

Brogdrin picked her up laughing as she squeaked in his arms.

“Let's go to bed so I can make you squeak and squeal."

Lilith smiled and held onto his neck. Happy as can be.

“Yes Master."
