Kain's Perspective

*****

"Who are you?" he asked. I pushed away from him, confused. Was he playing with me? If he was, then he was doing a good job at it.

"Silnis, don't play with me like that please," I told him, studying his face. He was devoid of any expression; his silver eyes showed no sign of playfulness or trickery. Wait...silver eyes? I stared at his eyes again to see they were indeed silver, just like his hair. What was going on?

"I'm sorry...but I really don't know you. You must have me mistaken for another person, but could you tell me where I am? One moment I'm preparing dinner for my father and the next thing I know, I black out and I'm here in this strange room," he said, looking around the room.

"Silnis, I'm serious, if you're playing around with me then stop it, now. You're starting to worry me," I told him in a panicked tone. I was trying my best to not think for the worse and assume that he was playing a joke on me. He gave me a confused look before getting up and opening the window to look outside.

"Where am I?!" he asked again, this time more serious. This couldn't be happening, no it can't be! Carlos, if you're listening than offer some words of wisdom!

"I'm sorry Kain but I'm as clueless as you are. I'm having the same situation with Alexander and it's scaring me as bad as you are," he said, worried.

"Tell me where I am!" Silnis demanded, backing away from me and edging towards the door.

"Silnis, please, listen to me! I'm your mate, Kain, don't you remember me!" I tried to convince him.

"I've never had a mate! You lie! You're a kidnapper and rapist, aren't you!" he accused, sliding the door open slowly and pointing a fireball at me.

"No I'm telling the truth!" I defended. I moved closer to him, careful not to aggravate him any more than he was.

"Don't get any closer to me! I'm not afraid to use my magic against you!" he warned, the door half way open.

"Silnis, please just...,"

"Hey Kain you up for a partner battle?" The door opened and three of my classmates stood there, seeing me trying to calm Silnis down.

"What's going on?" one of them asked.

"So you invited friends to help you get your way with me? I'm not going to go down without a fight!" Silnis accused, sending a gust of wind to push the others from the door, making his escape.

"Silnis wait!" I chased after him.

"Get the human!" I heard the others shout, getting their weapons. I had to get Silnis under control before they killed him. It was going to be hard though, considering Silnis was a mage, but I had speed and three months' worth of training on my side. Silnis ran through the halls, occasionally bumping into other students and using magic to get them out of his way. By then, I had a whole horde of people chasing after Silnis with weapons in their hands. I put on a burst of speed and was an arm's reach from him when he suddenly disappeared and reappeared several feet away. Damn, I hated it when he teleported, especially in a time like this.

Silnis eventually found himself in the training room where Master Ren and several students were going over lessons. Master Ren heard the commotion going on behind him and turned around to be met with a gust of wind, sending him flying into a weapons rack. The other students joined in and grabbed their weapons in defense of their master, circling around Silnis and leaving him trapped. Those behind me joined up and got into battle positions, readying their weapons for any signs of attack.

"Don't hurt him! You'll only aggravate him if you...!" Too late, one of the students charged at Silnis and was frozen into a block of ice. At this, the others charged at him, only to be blown away by wind, frozen in ice, swallowed into the earth, or blasted with flames. Everyone was going to get hurt if I didn't do something fast! While he was busy with everyone else, I tackled him to the floor and held his hands down. He couldn't cast any spells if his hands were bound. Wrong, he blasted me with a gust of wind into the ceiling and down onto the floor. I broke a rib and it hurt like hell, but my priority was to get Silnis under control.

"Let me help," Carlos offered. Magical chains appeared from the ground and air, shackling Silnis' feet and hands. Silnis struggled to get out from the chains, trying to cast his spells but was unable to.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"The Chains of Silence, it mutes the ability to cast any spells until the chains break or are summoned away," Carlos explained. "I've held him down for you. Actions speak louder than words. Show that he can trust you by action, not words," I'll do exactly that. Picking myself up, I limped my way to Silnis, him still struggling.

"Silnis...please listen to me. You're hurting all these people and I know you don't like hurting people. Please, calm down and listen to what I have to say," I said. He shook his head, refusing to listen to me. "All right then, if you won't listen then I'll have to show you that you can trust me. I wrapped my hands around his face and pulled him in for a deep and passionate kiss. He wouldn't open his mouth, but I wouldn't force him to. Forcing him to trust me wouldn't do any good. Then, I moved closer to him so I could embrace him while the kiss continued. I was pouring my heart out into this kiss. I was showing him how much I loved and cared for him.

He slowly stopped resisting and gave in to the kiss, giving me entrance to his mouth. My tongue twisted around his, tasting his mouth. His chains disappeared and that's when I broke the kiss. His face was a mix of shock and confusion when I looked at him. I caressed his cheek and gave him a quick peck on the lips before helping him to his feet. He looked up at me and I saw trust in those beautiful silver eyes.

"I...I'm sorry for what I did...and how I reacted," he apologized, looking around at everyone. "I...I'll do my best to help you all," Silnis stepped back from me and a ring of light circled him. Those that were frozen or buried underground were brought back, and everyone's wounds were healed by the light. Their strength returned and were able to stand again, warmth and power surging through their bodies. The circle of light disappeared and Silnis gave a relieved sigh before collapsing to the ground. I caught him before he hit the ground and nuzzled him while he slept in my arms.

"You best keep an eye on your mate Kain. Just him alone and he almost wiped us out. I expect you to watch over him when he wakes up again, understood?" Master Ren asked. I bowed before leaving, heading for my room. Gently, I laid Silnis on the bed and got in with him. I was glad to have Silnis back, only that he didn't remember me. I had forgotten how dangerous Silnis was with magic when he was angry, something I would consider next time. Pulling the blanket over us, I wrapped my arms around him and cuddled in, our bodies fitting together like a puzzle. Though Silnis may not remember me, I still love him to the depths of my heart and will always stay loyal to him.

Silnis' View

*****

The sunlight hit my eyes and awoke me from my sleep. I tried to get up but something held me down, something strong and...furry?! I turned my head and saw the black wolf from yesterday, the one who kissed me. He was peacefully sleeping with his arms wrapped around me, and he was awfully close to me...I mean his body was pressed up against mine. Still...I couldn't help but stare at his physique and appearance. His body was well-built, like he had been working out for quite a while, and was drop-dead gorgeous. In short, he was like a god!

But what bothered me was that fact he kissed me just yesterday, just kissed me plain as that. Why though? What he said yesterday also struck me, as if he knew me. True, I never liked hurting people, even when necessary, but how did he know that?! I felt his grip on me get tighter, and his muzzle rubbing against my neck.

"Morning love," he said, nuzzling me. I felt myself being turned around and being face to face with him. His eyes...were breath-taking. Never in my life had I seen so much love and devotion in a human or furry. What was I to him exactly?

"Kain...was it? Why is it that you're always so...so kind to me? I haven't done anything to deserve this kind of treatment, especially after yesterday," I questioned. He gave me an amused smile, brushing my hair through his paws.

"You're special to me, my mate. I would never treat you any other way except with love and loyalty," he said, giving me a soft kiss. His words spoke true and clear. There was no doubt he loved and cherished me like no other.

"That's very flattering of you to say, but just second ago you called me your mate and I don't ever remember binding myself to you," I questioned.

"That's...complicated to explain. Things happened before you woke up, and they're not exactly pretty things to hear," Kain cautioned.

"If I can handle top-rated students in a battle academy than I can handle stories," I told him, poking him in the rib. Kain gave an amused chuckle before telling me the events of what had happened before I had woken up. What sent shivers up my spine was the fact Prince Drake was back, and he had killed Kain to get me. I never liked that spoiled brat in the first place! Sure he saved my life, but after that he would constantly have me dragged to his palace so I would play with him. The day he proposed to me that I be his future lover was the last straw for me. I asked my parents to move and we were out of the city in no time. Who knew he was that intent on keeping me? Kain ended his story at the moment I woke up and went my almost-successful escape.

"I'm sorry but...I just don't believe you Kain. I know you're a truthful person, but everything you told me seems implausible. I mean...if I had a spirit than wouldn't he have said something to me by now? And I know I'm not strong enough in magic to bring a person back to life," I said, doubt in my voice. Suddenly, my arms were pinned down and Kain was on top of me, pressing his lips against mine. I struggled, completely forgetting that I could've blasted him off with wind magic, and tried to squirm myself out of his vise-like grip. Eventually, I stopped fighting, giving in to his kiss. I heard a pleased growl as I opened my mouth and let our two tongues meet. He was the dominant male, yet he was so passionate, so loving. I felt something hard against my stomach and noticed that Kain was sporting an erection in his tight pants, an impressive one at that. He was slowly moving his hips back and forth in a humping motion, obviously wanting more than a kiss.

Things would've gone too far had it not been for the bell, signaling the start of class. Kain sighed in disappointment and got off me to get ready for his class. Strapping on his battle clothes, he gave me one last smile before leaving. That smile was comforting to me, but to him it meant something else.
