The Prince Dilemma
#1 of Eca and Otsi
A guard watches a morally bankrupt prince use someone beautiful, and decides to hatch a plan. But it perhaps goes to well.

The Prince Dilemma
by Sxizi
Linar had options. He had options since he could speak a word if he really wanted them. But it wasn't until that winter a few years previous that he really realized he had them. I was never privy to the specifics of his thoughts on the matter, given I was the help and not an equal and we didn't speak often. But I was privy to the results.
The first few years were as one might expect rather generic. Young girls his own age and species would be brought into his chambers in the late evening. Sometimes they would simply talk, as if they were friends. And at least some of them were outside of this context. But watching the different approaches the prince gave to each new face, be it a soft chat up towards the inevitable entanglement of their bodies, or the wordless rutting the young mouse would provide for his playmates.
Though he was not the eldest, he was still royalty. And as such, was protected. That's why I was there. Though I looked only a couple years older than him at the time, an age I had looked since around his birth, I was easily four times his age. But despite my more advanced age, my body burned with the same passions that Linar expressed every week, and eventually everyday. As I stood in the shadows as his eternal guard, watching the young mouse's fur mesh with that of his latest conquest, my blood burned hot.
The seasons and years changed, and his interests in female endeavors, and sometimes male endeavors, varied, over ages, body time, and species, my yet young heart grew to hate his displays of virility. I spoke with my fellows, the guardians of the other young royals, about Linar's hedonism, but got no useful answers. The official word was repeated to me that royal business was not my business. If my father had overheard I'm sure he'd of rolled his eyes at that.
By the spring of 1810 I think it was, I was surely enjoying my solo pleasures regularly from my hidden post as the prince plowed citizen after citizen. I recall the very night the pattern changed.
The queen herself came into the chambers that night. I was fully expecting to see a display of the build up to a dirty joke.
"Linar, your years grow into adulthood," she said. "As mine grow towards old age. I... would like to inform you that your older brother has selected his wife. Eyas. Whom I'm quite sure you are familiar with."
The mouse was familiar with Eyas. She was the last girl he bothered to actually speak to before pinning her down. Before that night they were one of his non-night playmates, scampering with him and several others through the national forests near the east walls on regular occasions. The lot of them were prone to seeking to evade me and my fellows as we kept them safe from any would be threats just beyond their perceptions, but not ours.
Linar nodded to the queen. Her endless rows of earrings jingled as she turned her head. "As you are, in the position you are in," she said with a diplomatic pause. "You have both options and a lack of options for your own marriage. I am well aware of your, ahem, exploits. So I hope you understand that if you are to be wed, and I hope quite soon after your brother, that you need not cease your independent pursuits. What more, I'll be selecting those that you may and may not marry. You are no doubt aware of this. And this naturally means that your marriage will be the marriage most likely to bring harmony to the kingdom and nation."
The young mouse grinned. "Yes mother. I'll be happy to get married. And if it doesn't matter, as long as she is not prone to disturbing me, I'll be happy with whom ever you choose."
The queen rubbed her sons head. The attempt at tenderness was insincere. She left without another word.
Now don't get me wrong, there is down time for even a full time guardian. What other way would I have been able to practice for my duties? Babysitting isn't exactly encouraging for the skills of combat.
And so I was sparring with Debrin a few months later. Roy was due to be married in only a week to Eyas.
"So are you looking forward to seeing Roy screw Eyas?" I asked Debrin as our practice blades quickly collided in a series of swings.
"Quiet beast."
"Oh how witty fluff ball. I'm serious, you looking forward to watching them screw?"
Debrin hesitated. I took the opportunity. He recovered before answering. "I'm sure it won't be any different than the show's you've seen."
"Hah, probably right. Though at least you'll get to see the best of the best. While I'm putting up with watching the runt mounting mouse grannies older than me."
Debrin took a few steps back. His tail wagged. The wolf had a comeback. "Oh, Linar's got his eye on something much older than mouse grannies."
I recall thinking that that wasn't much of a comeback.
"So he's going to be sleeping with corpses?"
Debrin actually laughed at this as I attempted to throw him off balance again. This time I was more successful. His practice sword on the ground and his pride beaten, he was still grinning. "If corpses were that pretty I'd be a necrophiliac m'self!"
I offered my hand and pulled him up. "So he's found a dragon matron then?"
Debrin panted through his smile. "Oh has he ever. Momma's choice to. Again!"
The next round of sparring was not nearly as notable. Debrin didn't have a name except that Linar's 'choice' was probably from house Halcyon.
It was that night that I found out who Linar was intending to marry. As I was the beast of the evenings, I as per usual shadowed Linar through the castle. He was rarely willing to acknowledge the shadows he and his siblings always had, but he knew I was there. Always in the next room, listening or watching, until he retired for the night. Then I was in the alcove by the largest wardrobe.
"Bring her to me when she's ready," is all he said before entering his room that night. It was different from his usual habit of simply providing a name and a nod, or perhaps just, "The pretty one now."
I was already in the alcove as the mouse moved to the wardrobe. I couldn't see him change, but he emerged wearing his best silk robe. On the back was the symbol of the Rollvox dynasty, the previous one to be exact. The colors were for the current one. The robe used to fit him well, but it had grown short and his tail was held up enough to expose his rear.
There was a knock at the door. My claws gripped the weapon at my side. The gun wasn't the most accurate weapon at the time, but it would work at a range of only across the room. And most the time it was only used to spook while the real threat, me, charged. The door opened.
There were a few houses that wore the color back for any reason besides a funeral. Halcyon was one of the exceptions. And she wore that black well. But my concentration was fully on her very green eyes. She could not see me but I locked my gaze to those eyes for the first few moments as my mind screamed to look her over fully for threats. When my mind finally won out, my eyes drifted over the woman of scales and claws, taking in her delicious curves, wide hips, long tail, and dexterous hands. I had to do it again a few times to be sure I had actually made sure there was no visible threat. Well, beyond her possibly driving those claws through Linar's throat, but their conversation was already suggesting that such was not likely.
"Welcome to my abode," he said.
"I feel most welcome my prince."
"Please, make yourself comfortable." He lead her to a set of chairs around a short table.
"Better?"
"Of course Linar."
My focus remained on the two as they chatted about the weather and how her stay had been so far. I began to notice the lady seemed distracted. I had a thought pass through my head that she knew of a danger. My eyes darted around the room. She took no actions, and nothing sprung from the shadows as they continued their dull strings of words. I finally became more at ease.
The thought passed through my head that perhaps she wasn't fully comfortable with the situation. Her hands continued to fidget, her gaze was either to the sides, exploring the room, or directly at the young mouse's face. I raised an eye ridge as I tilted my head a little to get a better look at Linar. I observed he was sitting directly across from her, with his legs spread apart, surely lifting the front of his robe enough for quite the view. I smirked. She might be flustered but I was used to his scrawny sack.
"So, tell me of your home," she said. He began to answer with the barest detail.
"I'll be here for the wedding next week. Its been ages since I've participated in the royal court. Are there any habits and customs that I should worry about?"
His answer didn't answer anything. He probably didn't know much about the ways of court women, but if he did, he obviously didn't care to give a useful answer.
"Ahem, yes, so have you ever been to the ice flats?" she asked. Her house was one of the largest that based based out of the pockets of civilization in the glacier region.
"No," he said. He was grinning. "My turn to ask a question. Are you feeling hot?"
I could see the blushing under her scales.
"You look hot," he continued. "Let me help you get more comfortable."
He was very out of practice with sweet talking. If I was of a better intent I'd of made sure to later give him some tips.
Linar stood up. His tail slowly arced after him as he neared her. I half way figured she'd growl at that moment. She did not as he reached for her dress and began to work it, beginning to undo various knots. She was surprisingly passive as he stripped her. Linar pulled her from the chair before he pulled the dress free.
It fell to the floor. I knew then that she was very much not carrying a weapon. All that she had left on her person was made of lace and fairly transparent. All the same, my eyes remained upon her.
"Linar," she whispered.
"Shh... if you are to be my wife, I should make sure you can make me happy."
Her stoic gaze quivered into a scowl. He didn't see it as he had spun around.
"But don't worry, I won't be calling upon you that often. Unless, you really enjoy yourself tonight." With that, the mouse shrugged his robe off one of his shoulders and turned back to grin at the dragon. "You will be my first. I hope I don't disappoint."
Only my training kept me from letting out the appropriate response.
He shrugged off the robe from his other shoulder and let the silk fall to the floor. From my position I could already see his excitement. Linar turned towards his guest. His tail whipped as he did.
The mouse moved on the dragon, his not yet full grown body leading his head to meet her at her neck as he embraced her. Her scowl continued as his paws landed to either side of her tail. He slipped his thumbs under the waist band of her undergarments as he embraced her.
"I think I could get used to this," he said as he pressed himself into her bosom. He began to slide down her body. I could tell from the extra glisten off her scales that he was running his tongue down her body as he slid himself and her nickers down. The mouse let go of the lace as his head became level with what they once covered. I could hear his lapping. My attention was her he face. She closed her eyes as he worked his well practiced tongue over her nether region. Finding the right button, I could see her breathing change. His paws wandered up, followed by the rest of him for just of an opportunity to finish her undressing, releasing the dark cups from her chest.
The mouse returned to his lapping endeavors. She even spread her legs slightly. I could see her teeth through the edge of her frown. The mouse did put some effort in as it seemed like quite a while that he had his snout buried against her mons.
With any possible threat from his guest well exposed as being only mostly harmless, I was already pondering enjoying the show. Her tail began to wave about. I reached to unlatch my codpiece. Linar stood again, his member no doubt tucking between her legs as he pulled his paws over her back.
"Let us bed," he said.
She opened her eyes. Her nostrils flared twice before she nodded.
Linar allowed his guest to crawl into the bed first. She spread her wings and tilted her head forward, careful not to puncture the prince's pillows. Not that he would of cared. The mouse crawled in over her, his erection bobbing about as he sniffed over her delicate scales. I was already ready to let their sounds cover up my own pleasures.
He kissed her on the nose before trying a more proper kiss. It was awkward, but not from the experience they both had. As her much bigger maw was probed by his lustful tongue, he grabbed his bit of meat and began to rub it along her slit. As I held my own member I could remember feeling hotter than normal. Her chest heaved.
"You have the shivers?" he asked, not expecting a an answer.
"Uh," is all she could say before he pushed into her.
The mouse smiled as he began to hump his length through her. As his pace picked up, creating a squelching sound with each pump, I began to pump my own piston.
I began to imagine I was in the prince's place.
But in my mind, I was doing more than just jumping into things. I'd be exploring her scales one by one, even as I stroked my way through her passage. I'd lick over her chest, nuzzle her snout, and curl my tail around hers. My wings would go wide and I'd snarl into her ear. She'd like that as she'd snarl back into mine. Each thrust of my hips would soon be accompanied but a grunt or a growl. I might bite down on her neck. Or she might bite mine.
And I certainly wouldn't of made her lay on her back like that. Wings just don't work that well in such a situations if they're crushed behind ye.
The mouse was panting. She was only moaning as I watched him roll his tongue out. Not to lap at his lover, but just to hang as his dick provided the only pleasures to the two.
I slipped back into my own version of events for a bit. Nibbling at her ears. Digging my claws into rear. Whispering her name.
I suddenly realized I didn't know her name. I would have to find it out.
My eyes caressed the prince's fiancé. She was exquisitely well built. Strong muscles yet a voluptuous enough form on top of them so that she came across as fit and beautiful. I wanted to pull the mouse off her and take his place. To make her roar properly.
My hand felt damp.
"You like it, don't you." The mouse whispers didn't distract me as I began to fix my armor. "Yeah, yeah," he squealed. The next few sounds the mouse made were one's I had heard often enough. He was finished.
I looked at her eyes. They were sliding open. And her look was one I had seen often enough in this chamber.
"Thank you," he said. "That was quite good."
"Yes," she said.
Linar kissed her nose. "You are free to remain here for tonight if you like. Your choice."
"I... I should be ready in the morning. So I should go to me own chambers."
"Alright," Linar says rolling off her. His mast bobbed in the dim light, dripping with his fluids, leaving splotches on his fur.
His guest did her best to pace her escape. She was dressed quickly enough.
"Have a good night my prince," she said to the still nude mouse as he lazed in bed staring at her.
"Good night my love."
She bowed. His eyes were closed. Her's darted to my alcove before she turned and left.
My father was impressive, in his armor or out of it. At that moment he was out of it and already looked to be twice my size. His meal was almost finished by the time he answered my question.
"I know you probably wouldn't ask a question like that unless ye are either very bored with ye duties or ye suspect something is going on. Me thinks that if such a threat to one of the royals exists, even if tis from another royal, that ye should use ye best judgement first. And second, priority always goes to the king or queen, and then down the order of succession, even if ye charged with the defense of a lower rung who be threat'nin a higher rung on the great ladder. Even if tis means ye assigned duties are not compatible."
He lifted another large section of meat to his maw and bit into it. After I watched him chew for a while. My eyes watched him grind the meat between his razor sharp teeth. Finally he swallows his bite.
"Remember, ye not the first dragon to swear allegiance to the kingdom. If all else fails. Fall back on that."
"Thank you."
"Want some?" said my father as he offered me a large chunk of meat.
"I'm good for the moment. Thank you father."
Gossious was the guardian of Linar's little sister, and probably the best person to speak to to start my plan. She was an elk, and despite being half my age was easily my superior in the arts of combat.
"Guardian Gossious, I need to speak with you," I said, pulling her aside shortly after leaving my father with his breakfast.
"Otsi, what is gotten you be going eh?"
"I wish not to alarm ye, but I felt it important to inform another guardian of a plot. Now no worries, Mu is not the threatened. And tis not against Linar."
The elk quickly narrowed her eyes. "Be our queen be throated?"
"No no, if that was the case I would of spoken with the Queen's guards to alert them. I did ask for advice from my father though. And... well the problem is that yes, its not against Linar, but its from Linar, against Roy."
"That not be good no no. Evidence?"
"Its, weak," I said. "Linar talks to himself from time to time. I over heard him pondering ways of offing Roy. I think... I think this is because of the wedding."
"But did not Linar take to wife the Eca of Halcyon? Not make sense that."
I shrugged. Gossious was ideal as she wasn't great on reading cues in the language of the land that might give away my ploy. "I... they were not satisfied last night. But I do recall Linar being happy when he bedded Roy's fiancé about a year ago."
"Jealous Linar be? Oh no!" I blinked at that exclamation. Was she humoring me?
"So what should we do?" I asked.
"We go tell Debrin and Optan. They fix yes?"
I nodded. "The problem is, I don't know if Linar has a plot or plan together yet. If he does, it might be to late. I should keep an eye on him. You're not on duty for a few more bells yet. You should go talk to them while I keep an eye on him."
"Yes yes! I shall go inform Guardian Debrin and Advisor Twisted Optan yes."
She bowed and left. I was a little surprised this might be working.
"Excuse me?"
I paused my quickened walk down the hall towards Linar's room. I turned.
"I was wondering who you might be," asked the dragon from the night before.
"I am Guardian Otsi," I blurted out.
She smiled toothily. "I meant your heritage guardian from the shadows. Are you of House Halcyon for instance?"
"I am not of any of those houses. My family acts and lives free from the nobility structure."
"Lucky fellow. Though I no doubt your duties are more restrictive than even mine." She began to walk around me. "Spending all your day sleeping, eating, training, and watching. Must never get a moment to yourself."
"My down time is sufficient for what it needs to be."
"If you say so," she said as she sniffed the air. "But for future information, gals of our species can sniff out a male's spunk when its fresh."
I gulped.
"Not that I mind of course." Her tone was suddenly very flat. "I'm glad that of the three of us, at least two of us were having fun."
"I'd hope that in future endeavors you partake my lady, that you have the most fun of all. I... I'm afraid I have important duties."
She finished her slow circle around me and nodded. "Keep an eye on that boy. I don't have a quality feeling about him."
I nodded before turning back and hurrying off to find the prince.
When I found him, I found he was speaking to his day time guardian, Screz. Screz the more obvious than I in his duties, but that was by design. The early hours of the day Linar, like his siblings, were more likely to encounter people of the usual sort. And having a brute handy was always useful to intimidate the less ponderous.
"Good morning Otsi," said Linar. "Its good to see you. Its been six months at least." The mouse chuckled. "I sometimes think the shadows are watching and then I recall that they are."
I nodded. "I woke up early from my rest and figured saying hello might be in order."
Screz nodded and then began to actively ignore me.
"Well I hope you are well fair dragon. You no doubt have heard that I've sought a bride, with my mother's blessings of course."
"I am aware yes."
"What do you think of her?"
"My judgement of personality is primarily on if they are a threat to you or not. Not on evaluating them as a person."
The mouse waved me closer and then to sit down. The lounge was empty except the three of us. I had to keep up the good soldier routine.
"I mean, you are a dragon of the male persuasion. Certainly you understand the ins and outs of, well, beauty."
I refused to nod. "You are seeking a personal opinion about a future princess. But I hope you trust that my words, since they were requested to imply such, are not hampered by that realization."
"Yes yes," he said as he crossed his arms. "Do you think she's sexy?"
"Of course, she is well proportioned, has ideal scales, and despite her having at least a century on me, she looks no older than one forty."
"Wonderful, wonderful."
The mouse uncrossed his arms and looked to Screz. "You bear fellow, please leave us. Despite his lack of sleep, the dragon can keep me safe for a spell. Return at eleven bells."
The hulking form of Screz was soon gone.
"Dragon, do you think I have what it takes to be prince?"
"My first instinct is to ask what sort of question is that, but out of respect I'll not ask that and instead say that you are highly qualified to be a prince. You know how to interact with the court and lords, have quality taste in fashion, and can even hold your own in a duel. You are perhaps too qualified for such."
"True true. Now, before, you thought I was speaking about Eca, the dragon yes?"
"Of course." So that was indeed her name. I thought Gossious was just spouting words there.
"No, I was not. I'm going to marry Eyas."
I recalled thinking that this complicates things.
"Eca," he continued. "is pretty and all, and quite delicious, and despite hailing from the 16th century quite a tight mistress, but she's not for me."
"I see."
"Ah good! Then I suspect we just wait for word to come down."
I tilted my head.
"Screz won't likely be returning at the bells. Hopefully Debrin has killed him by now. Or will be soon."
"You sent Screz to kill Roy?"
"Why yes. I can't let my dumb older brother plant his seeds in the only woman I've ever really loved."
I kept my face as still as possible. I wanted to yell out at the fool that he hadn't spoken to Eyas since that night. Or to slap him. But I also wanted to run to find Screz. But, I had to stay. This is where I said I would be. Keeping an eye on Linar. Making sure he didn't kill Roy. If he was blowing smoke, and I left, I'd be the suspect if Roy died. But if I said and Screz did kill Roy, then I was the whistle blower, and thus innocent. I just wasn't expecting things to go this route.
At least Linar wouldn't be marrying Eca if what he was saying was true. Mice and dragons don't exactly produce heirs. And that was the priority if he was next in line.
But I had to say something. "I am honestly surprised by this."
"You don't watch me all day. Just all evening and night. Me and Screz, we're good friends. He trusts me. And he does what he's told. I can trust him. Like I hope I can trust you."
"I've done nothing to break my oath and serve willingly." Nothing except make up a story to make you suspect in an assassination plot, that accidentally ended up being true.
"Good, that makes me happy. And when I'm king, dragons like yourself will be well regarded."
"Thank you sire."
The mouse opted not to speak further. In was another few more minutes before the first alarms were sounded. The heir to the throne was dead.
"Do you know why you are here?" asked my father.
"I, suspect I do."
"The murderer is dead. But the babbling that the elk gave, tis enough to show that ye did what was right, even if ye were uncertain."
My eye twitched. He couldn't see as I knelt before the queen, head bowed. There was no one else there but us three.
"Her highness wanted you to know that she wishes you to be relevant to keeping the kingdom stable," said my father. "No, this is not a promotion to her personal guardians. But you are going to be removed from the guardians and appointed as head of internal security."
I almost looked up.
"You are surprised by this," said the queen. "Don't be. You my son might be prone to fratricide by proxy, he is now the crown prince. And thus heir to this throne. That means that the only person he poses a threat to is me. And your sound judgement is what I need in such a post."
"Permission to speak," I said.
I suspect glances were exchange as my father then said, "Granted." I had of course addressed him, not the queen.
"Your royal highness, a move of someone who has been so close to your son is ill advised. How would you know for certain that I was not favorable to the prince?"
"Easy. You are a good dragon. And you know how much of a horrible king he'll make. I highly suspect that's why you tattled on his tail. Its only a shame that you were to late. I'll make sure his new watcher is not so hesitant. And yes, your hesitation is why you will not remain to spy on him. So think of this as a promotion, and a way to get you somewhere where you won't mess it up."
"Thank you your highness."
There was a wedding that next week. Linar marred Eyas. I was thankful to finally be off mouse watching duty. I was actually sent from the castle and out to the city. Given an office and an official, unassuming title. I began to pick up the pieces of the previous fellows efforts, a mess if there ever was one, and to sort out the security frame work of the nation.
It was perhaps three months into my tenure as chief of internal security, or as my title said 'Magistrate of Bills and Process', when I got a visitor.
She was very familiar as I had seen more of her than most.
"Hello Otsi," said Eca. "I just figured I'd come by and let you know, that if things had been different, today would of been my wedding day."
We were both in my office. She was already seated in the 'client' chair.
"How does it feel to be a free dragon?"
"Free enough," she said. "And yourself? I never heard of such an office or division. And my father specializes in weird objects in the government."
"Well, I'm really confused by the whole deal myself."
"No matter. I just figured I'd give you thanks for that one night."
"I... I really didn't do anything though."
"Sure you did," she said leaning in over the desk. "You made sure that someone was admiring my beauty."
It was attempting not to blush. Which doesn't work. I had to admit, she was the most beautiful lady that squeak had ever bed in my eyes. I had to say such.
"The prince, likes his ladies. You were hardly his first. But you were, in my eyes, the most beautiful creature to ever enter that chamber."
"Now I might have to object to that," she said. "As you were there to."
I laughed quietly. "I'm not beautiful. I'm a wiry dragon anti-assassin. Hardly a beauty."
"Then handsome it is then."
She fumbled with her bag. I fidget with a pen.
"Yes, ah hum," I stuttered.
"I wanted to give you something."
"Wha... no, that's not necessary."
"Sure it is. Her nostrils flared." She reached into her bag and pulled out a card. "Yes, my calendar says, I'm not due for eggs for at least four months. We should be good."
I leaned back a little. "Uh, pardon?"
"Now don't keep a lady waiting."
I was very happy my office door had a lock. Eca had slipped the secretary a note so that we would not be disturbed.
As our tails twisted together and I gave her real sex, I made sure to do the things I had imagined I'd of done that night. I licked her, nibbled her, rubbed her, gripped her, groped her, kissed her, and spoke her name. She nibbled my ears, growled and grunted, and clawed deep into my back. I didn't force her to lay uncomfortably on her back. I arched my wings as I slammed by cock through her passage. I snorted. She moaned. And I made sure to last until she roared loud enough to worry the secretary.
And when it was all done, I did not kick her out of my office. Instead we curled up together in my overly large chair in the corner, and I rocked my lady to sleep before taking a nap myself.
