#10 of Life Goes On Series

Fun and shenanigans ensue as we sit down to enjoy a stupid movie. And later a very vivid dream makes me question things.

After we all got our tickets and drinks we made our way to the room down the hall where our movie was showing. When we got inside I was very surprised to see a really good turn out for the movie with a large crowd of teens and college students talking and laughing loudy. I raised my eyebrow as I turned to Chris and said, "Wow! I didn't think this movie was gonna be this big of a deal." He chuckles a bit as he shrugs his shoulders and says, "What can I say? I guess people our age just love seeing a bunch of guys doing really stupid and dangerous things." I look around the room one more time before saying cheerfully, "I guess the hell so!" We then start walking down the aisle trying to find some good seats. Max points out and leads us too some really good ones near the middle and we all sit. I end up sitting in the middle with Max on my left, Chris on my right and T beside him.

As the trailers go by Chris and I pass around the candies we snuck in and Max and T give us appreciative smiles. Once the movie starts I am surprised as it opens up with the cast being chased down a street by rams. As I am am sitting there wondering, "What the hell is going on?", the rest of the audience is busy yelling out "OOOOH!" and "OUCH!" whenever one of the guys is hit or jumps through a window. Then the apparent main character(?) runs up to the camera and says, "Hi, I'm Jimmy Moxville, welcome to Stupidly Dangerous Stunts!" and the title appears. The entire audience erupts into cheers and I sit there at a complete loss. I look around surprised by all of the energy and hype pouring out of everyone. When I look to my right I notice that Chris and T are just as hyped as the rest of the audience shouting out, "YEAH!" and "WOOOO!". I then turn to my left to check if Max is just as pumped as they are and am not surprised at all when I see him just sitting there ignoring the rest of the audience and focusing on the movie. He notices me looking his way and gives me a sidelong glance and a little half smile before shrugging his shoulders and going back to watching the movie. After the initial applause everyone settles down and eagerly watches the stunts come and go.

As I sat there watching the cast go about doing things that were extremely dangerous and painful wondering how the hell this was so appealing to people. Then another nut shot happened and I shook my head wondering why I even bothered to question it. About twenty minutes into it I'd gave up and decided to just enjoy the spectacle of the whole thing. As the movie progressed I ended up paying less and less time paying attention to the movie and more time staring at Chris out of the corner of my eye. His usual adorable smile spread across his face when he wasn't stuffing it with candy or laughing at whatever stupid thing happened in the movie. If asked directly I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly what it was about him that made him so attractive to me. I was just attracted to the whole package I guess (And no not THAT package. Though I'm sure it would only add to his appeal:P).

I was pulled out of my Chris induced trance when I felt Max's paw rest itself on top of my own. I quickly pulled my hand off of the armrest and rested it at my side. Max looked at me in surprise as he quickly whispered, "Oops, sorry. I didn't notice you were using this." He patted the armrest while I just nodded my head and whispered back, "No problem. You can have it." He nodded his head and gave me a small smile. I did notice that it looked forced and I thought I saw his eyes watering a little, but he quickly put his attention back to the movie so I couldn't be sure. I decided to just let it go and not think about it. My own attention was pulled back to the movie as one of the guys drank feral horse sperm and the entire audience erupted into a chorus of "EEEEWW" and "GROSS". As I watched the scene play out I just thought to myself, "Hmph. If it was an anthro horse guys sperm it would actually be kinda hot."

The rest of the movie passed without incident and we all walked out in a cheerful mood. Chris was the most energetic as he talked non-stop about the movie, "Oh, when Jimmy........ that was so hilarious. Or when they..... And then they all...... I laughed so hard." We all agreed with him and threw in our own tidbits and scenes we liked as we walked out to the parking lot. When we got near the middle T stopped us as she pointed at a lone shopping cart and excitedly said, "OHH! Look! There's a shopping cart just sitting out here in the middle of nowhere. You guys gotta push me around in it!" We were all still pretty buzzed and hyped from the movie so we didn't give it a second thought as she hopped in and said, "Come on slowpokes! This thing isn't gonna push itself!" We all laughed and hollered as we ran around the parking lot. Chris and Max pushed the cart along while T screamed her lungs out in joy and I trailed close behind them. When she had enough T yelled out, "Alright guys! That's enough now! I'm ready to get out!" Chris and Max quickly came to a halt, skidding along the lot a bit from the force of their speed, and started panting as they were coming down from their movie induced high.

When I caught up to them T jumped out of the cart and grabbed onto Chris' and Max's necks as she yelled out, "WOOO! Thanks a lot you two! That was so fun!" We all had a good laugh after that before Chris pulled out his cell phone and said, "Oh, shit. It's getting pretty late. I better call my mom to come pick us up." I looked at my own phone and said, "Jeez, it is pretty late. I better call my mom too." Chris waved his hand dismissively as he said, "No dude. It's fine. My mom can take you all home." I gave him a questioning look as I asked, "Are you sure Chris? I don't want to bother her." He sighed and nodded as he said, "Yes I'm sure. She doesn't mind this kind of thing at all. Don't worry." I just nodded as I stood there and watched him call his mom and explain the situation."

Five minutes later his mom drove up and we all hopped into her car. As we drove Chris' mom asked me, "So Joey. Where do you live?" I timidly said, "Um, I live on 8th street. I know it's a bit out of the way. I'm sorry." She shushed me as she said, "Oh, it's no trouble at all. I'd feel terrible if you had to walk all that way this late at night." I grinned and nodded as I said to her, "Thank you ma'am. I really appreciate it." SHe laughed as she said, "Ohho. Ma'am!? Why, thank you for that Joey." She glanced over at Chris as she said slightly sarcastically, "If only more kids your age were as polite as you." Chris crossed his arms and put on an exaggerated pouty face as he said, "It's not my fault he's the only one who does that anymore." His mom took her right hand off the wheel for a second to give his hair a good tousling before she said, "Ooh, Don't take it out on Joey." She looked at me in the mirror as she said, "I'm glad you two started hanging out. Maybe your politeness will rub off on Chris." Chris made a loud snort and she gave him a quick glare before shrugging it off and going back to focusing on the road.

Turns out that T lives three blocks from Chris. I did wonder if she lives so close to him why she didn't come to his house to hang out earlier today, but I just chalked it up to being busy with family or other friends. After we drop T off Chris' mom turns to me and says, "Alright, I'm taking you home now Joey." I got a bit confused as I realized that I had no idea where Max lived. I turned to him and asked him as nonchalantly as possible, "So, where do you live?" He smiled really big at this, as if he were waiting for me to talk to him, before saying, "Oh, I actually live two towns over." I gave him a confused look as I said, "So that's why I've only seen you once in a while."

He nodded and said, "Yep, I used to live here in San Jose, but I had to move and now I only come down here once in a while to visit family and hang out with my old friends." I gave him a questioning look as I asked, "But wait? Then why were you at our school's wrestling practice when I met you?" He rubbed the back of his head as he said, "Well, I did used to be on the team and the coach likes me, so he lets me join practice whenever I'm in town." I asked him quizziccally, "Is that even aloud?" He shrugs his shoulders and smiles as he says, "Hey, as long as you sign a release anything's aloud." I chuckled and then asked, " So, does that mean your staying at a relatives place tonight?" He shakes his head and grins as he says, "I'm actually spending the night at Chris' house. I do usually stay at my uncle's place a few blocks away, but Chris invited me over."

Chris looked back at us as he heard us discussing this and said, "Yep. We're gonna be up all night drinking sodas, playing video games and watching movies." I did feel a bit jealous to learn that Max was gonna get to spend the night at Chris' place, but then I wondered to myself where Max would be sleeping. Chris' room isn't really that big and given how big his bed and entertainment stand are, there was even less space to move around let alone sleep on. I started to lose myself to the many thoughts that could spawn from such a prime situation, but didn't have very long to revel in them as we pulled up to my house. I hopped out of the car to say good night to everyone. Chris and his mom both smiled and said good night, but Max just waved to me as he gave me a rather sad looking little smile. I waved back and turned away as they drove down the street. Once I got to my room I was so exhausted I immediately fell into my bed and knocked right out.

I dreamt about what I imagined Chris and Max would be doing during their sleepover. It started innocently enough with them just sitting around playing video games in t-shirts and pajama shorts. It then turned into them watching a scary movie. While they were watching the movie they were sitting awfully close together. When a big jump scare happened they both clung to each other out of fear. After the moment passed they quickly pulled apart while grinning and laughing nervously, but not saying a word. After the movie finished they decided to hit the hay. Chris jumped into his bed while Max unfolded a sleeping bag and they both laid down to go to sleep.

Thirty minutes later Chris is knocked out while Max is laying there with his eyes open, apparently not being able to sleep at the moment. He lays there for another ten minutes before deciding to get a glass of water. After slipping into the kitchen he pours water from the sink into a glass. As he sips the water he gets a concerned look on his face before setting his glass down on the counter. He paces the kitchen for a bit while looking like he is deep in thought. After a brief moment of looking worried his face settles into a look of conviction. He grabs his water again and finishes it in one gulp before marching back to Chris' room.

Once back inside he looks over at Chris' sleeping form. He nods to himself before walking over to the head of Chris' bed. He puts his hand on Chris' shoulder and gently shakes him while whisphering, "Chris! Chris! Wake up man." Chris slowly opens his eyes and sits up before saying groggily, "Uuuuh, is it morning already?" Max shakes his head as he says, "No it's not morning. Look Chris, I really need to talk." After hearing the seriousness in Max's voice Chris finally wakes up fully and says, "Okay, sure. What do you need to talk about?" Max looks down as he says, "There's just something I need to get off my chest." Chris blinks as he looks at the darkened form of Max with concern, "Go ahead man. You can tell me anything. I won't judge" Max slowly looks back up at Chris before shaking with nerves and looking back down. Chris notices this and says, "Come on man. Just tell me. It can't be that bad." Max steels himself before quietly saying, "I'm gay." Chris gives him a questioning look before saying, "What?" Max repeats louder and more strongly, "I'm gay!" Chris just rubs the back of his head as he says, "Alright." He then chuckles nervously as he says, "Are you also gonna tell me you love me? Cause I don't swing that way."

Max chuckles too as he says, "No! Your not my type anyway." Chris gives him a sly grin as he puffs out and slaps his chest as he says, "What? A stud like me isn't your type?" Max laughs before saying sarcastically, "Sorry STUD, but no." Chris laughs too before saying, "Then what? Is a guy like Joey more your speed?" Max quickly looks away blushing as Chris nails it on the head. Chris' eyes widen and he gasps before saying, "No way. Really!? You like Joey?" Max keeps looking down as he slowly nods his head. Chris then says excitedly, "Then why don't you tell him?" Max looks up with a questioning look on his face as he says, "You really think I should? He quickly holds his hand up to stop Chris as he says, "Wait! Before that, you really have no problem with me being gay?" Chris shrugs his shoulders and grins as he says, "Hey, it's none of my concern who or what you like. As long as your happy that's all that matters right?"

Max looks very relieved to hear this as he sighs and says, "Thanks a bunch man. You have no idea how good it feels to get that off my chest." Chris just keeps grinning as he says, "No problem man. It's your life. Live it up." He then crosses his arms and raises his eyebrow as he says, "Now, back to the topic of you telling Joey you like him." Max looks down in embarrassment as he says, "Do we really have to? I'm feeling pretty good just from telling you. Do I really need to start stressing about telling Joey right now?" Chris just grins as he says, "Yes. If your feeling this good just from telling me your gay, imagine how good you'll feel after telling Joey you have a crush on him." Max just looks at Chris nervously as he says, "I don't know Chris. Are you sure it's a good idea. What if he says no? I don't even know if he's gay." Chris doesn't bat an eye as he confidently says, "Oh he's gay. Trust me on that one." Max looks up at Chris like he's not sure whether to believe him or not before saying, "How can you be so sure? Did he tell you so or something?" Chris shakes his head and says, "No, but I'm pretty sure catching him checking out me and a few other guys is a pretty surefire sign he's gay." Max looks at him like he's crazy as he says, "You really saw him doing that?" Chris nods his head as he says, "Yep! No doubt about it."

Max grins as he decides to believe Chris and says, "Do you think he'll like me back?" Chris puts his hand on Max's shoulder as he says, "I'm sure he will. I mean you guys get along just fine. And I may not be gay, but I can say that you are pretty damn hot." Max laughs so hard at this that Chris has to shush him for fear of waking up his family. Once Max has calmed down he puts his arm around Chris' neck as he says, "Thanks a lot Chris! You have no idea how much this means to me." Chris scratches the side of his face in embarrassment before saying, " No prob. Just lookin out for my bud is all." Then Chris' face turns serious as he says, "Alright now lets talk about how your gonna get Joey! Okay so the first thing you should do is...."

*ScreeeeechHUBBUBULBLUBWHEEERHISSSSSS* "Uuuuuugh" I throw my hand at my alarm clock and luckily hit the off button as I am woken from the most vivid and realistic dream I have had yet. I shake my head to help wake myself up as I think to myself, "Man. What the hell was that dream? I know Max has seemed a bit eager everytime I see him, but I never thought he liked me that way. I guess from that dream I've at least thought about it on some level, but there's no way he could like me. Right?"
