Sliver sat against the wall, gazing out the window and into the distance. He was awaiting his friends return and was excited to see him. There's so much he wanted to ask him about already. Also he had to apologize for a few things too, like trying to put a burger in the toaster. No one told him that's not how you cook them! He tried to fix it but he ended up just making it worse. He hoped Sky wasn't too mad.
He waited for a while just staring off into the distance. This world was beautiful. Well his friend mentioned that they were in a rural area, which meant there were less buildings but he still thought this world was beautiful. The buildings were interesting as well; they were a completely different style from the ones in his world.
He sighed. Everything was so different here, which was great. So many new things to try but he missed his world. His bed, his house. He wanted to show Sky all those things. They'd have so much fun! Then he remembered the stranger that had saved him. "Light" Sky had said he was called. He said that somehow he could travel between worlds, because he managed to bring him here! So maybe he could take Sky home with him!
He put on a big, dragon smile. Now he really wanted Sky to hurry home! So he could ask if he wanted to visit his world. He looked out the window but still no sign of him. He decided to let his mind wander and looked at the clouds.
"At least they were the same." He thought. He was glad they were the same in both worlds.
His thoughts slowly drifted back to Sky. He didn't know how he felt about the human. He did know that he was his best friend and they had lots of fun together. He didn't want to go back to how things were before. He was alone, no one cared about him. And he felt miserable all the time. Then he met Sky and his life has been great ever since.
When he thought about it, the human had actually saved his life twice; once for the injuries, and once for pulling him out of his depression. He was grateful for that and he wanted to repay him somehow.
He looked down the path and still no sign of Sky. He checked the time,
"Half 4... Where is he!?"
He was a bit worried now. He had said he'd be back at 4,
"He's probably running a little late, that's all. Yeah..."
He was trying to convince himself that's the reason, but he had a bad feeling, and not the first bad feeling either.
Earlier, he had a strange feeling. He was playing the PS3 and was shooting some enemies down when a sudden, horrible feeling that something bad had happened hit him. He had shaken it off as just his nerves on edge because he has trying not to get shot. But looking back it didn't feel like a false alarm. He truly felt that something bad had happened.
#Now he was worried. He felt a pain in his chest when he thought about something bad happening to his friend. He wanted to just see him stroll round the corner, wearing a big, happy smile and prove it was just silly over-worrying. But the more time that passed, the less likely that was to happen.
"4:47..... SKY!" He shouted out the window, but no response.
"SKY! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Still no answer.
He was really scared now. What if something bad had happened and he had just ignored it? What if he was lying face down in field alone!? WHAT IF HE WAS DEAD!?
That was too much to handle. If Sky was dead Silver wouldn't know what to do. He was the only thing he had in his life that made him happy. He was his only friend and meant the world to him. That was the last straw.
"Sorry Sky."
Sky had told him NOT to leave under ANY circumstances. But he couldn't sit around if his friend was in trouble!
So he ran back into Sky's bedroom and jumped out his window.
His wings felt rather stiff due to his lack of flying but the soon loosened as he went into the clouds. He had to stay out of sight or Sky would be in trouble. So he hid in the cloud layer and searched around for a school or something similar. He eventually reached a large building with a big field at the back. He looked down and saw a sign that said, "Welcome to Hope Collage, Where we raise the Hope of the future!"
The name sounded right. Sky had mentioned it before. Although he didn't really like talking about school very much. He had assumed he was someone who just didn't like going but now he wasn't sure.
"Maybe there was something he didn't want to tell me?" Silver thought.
Maybe he had got in trouble at school or something and that's why he didn't like it. He was a nice person though, so he didn't know why anyone would cause trouble for him.
He saw an empty field near the school and decided to fly over it. He didn't think Sky would be there he just wanted to fly around for a while and besides, there aren't many people in fields anyway. So it's safe for him to go closer to the ground. It was quite a big field, and very beautiful. He noticed something in the corner of his eye, a place that reminded him of his world.
It was a hill over to the left of him. On that hill was a lonely tree that looked similar to the one he sat on all the time back home. He was supposed to be looking for Sky. But he needed a break from flying and it looked like a good spot. The tree would keep him hidden and cool in the sun. So he approached it quickly and landed just in front.
He didn't expect to see what he did just then. At the foot of the tree was a human tied to the tree. Not just any human. It was the human he had been searching for and who meant the world to him. In any other circumstance, he would be overjoyed to see him. But the condition he was in caused tears to fall from his eyes and make his heart nearly stop.
"S-Sky?"
There was no response.
He rushed over, tears streaming down his face as the approached the beaten boy tied to the tree. He slashed the ropes with his claws and the human fell limply into his arms. He just looked down at his friend. He was bruised, bleeding and his fingers looked broken. He felt a mix of rage and sadness. Why would anyone want to hurt him? He was kind, gentle, friendly and put others before himself. So why?
He felt the boy stir and his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. He looked down at him through tearful eyes, and saw his eyes twitch. The weight on his chest lifted and he managed to say,
"Sky! Sky are you ok!?"
Another twitch and the human slowly opened his eyes.
"S-Silver i-is that you?"
Silver's tears turned to those of joy and he tightly hugged the boy.
"SKY!"
"Ow..." Whimpered the weary human.
"Oh crap. I'm sorry!" He let go of the boy and they just looked at each other. A look that only true friends share. It said more than any words ever could.
"Silver?" Sky said quietly.
"Yeah?" He replied.
"Thanks for saving me." Then he closed his eyes and passed out in Silver's arms. There was a content smile across his face.
He looked upon his peaceful face. Tears of joy filling his eyes as he carefully picked him up and prepared to fly back home.
"No problem...Sky."
He rubbed his eyes, and took off with a smile on his face. A smile that was a priceless gift that can only be obtained from a true friend...
