Chapter Two: Forest of memories
Ary gasps and sits upright hastily, eyes open wide as he pants and looks around, clutching at his chestfur with his right paw. He slowly glances down as he realizes the former pain associated with such an action was no longer present, flexing his paw and bringing it up in front of his face in confusion. "How...no, oh no no no... I di... I didn't..." Looking around again with a concerned whimper, his paw moves to feel over his shoulder now, feeling nothing but clean, soft fur where there previously was a rather severe wound. He clutches his paw around his shoulder and hunches over, panting still as he tries to figure out what happened.
"I'm...dead... I have to be... fuck.." the fox closes his eyes tight as tears start to form, both paws moving up to grip his head as the very idea of having succumb to that damnable wolf leaves him breathless.
"But you 'do' still breathe, young one..." a voice echoes from behind him somewhere, quiet enough that its only barely heard by the panicked fox.
"But if I'm not dead then where am I...where...how could I possibly..." Ary's voice trails off and his paws slowly fall into his lap, teary eyes opening to look around once more, trying to blink away the cloudy visage of trees and shadows until he can see clearly. "Who...Who's there...?" he asks hesitantly, his tail curling up around himself as he hugs around it in attempt to stay calm, fear obvious about him as his ears lay back and eyes search frantically.
"We are always and never...fear us not young one..." the mysterious voice echoes quietly through the trees, coming from no discernible location to the fox's ears. "Please, rest... your wounds have mostly healed though your spirit has not..."
"My...how have I healed so...my wounds were dire...I..I should be..." the fox's voice fades again as a chill breeze rushes past, though finding that warmth soon pervades the small grove within which he finds himself now as the warmth of the suns above shines down upon him.
"You were found in great need...happen that you may to fall where you had, it is no coincidence...as those of you are so keen to believe it be." Shadow and mist seem to permeate the boarders of the glade despite the shining light upon where Ary sat.
"You saved me, then...I...Thank you." he bows his head and closes his eyes again, his muzzle resting in the fur of his tail as he clings to it, not knowing what else to do. It was then, however, that the fox began to realize a certain lack of clothing, causing him to blush ever so faintly and curl his tail tighter about himself.
"We remember you... Do you remember yourself?" the shadows fade slowly though the mist remains, alight with the twin suns rays shimmering throughout the glade. Ary gasps quietly as he looks up to see such a sight, glancing from left to right slowly following the boarders of tree and mist.
"I...I don't remember anything clearly.." the fox whimpers quietly, though continues to search for something...anything that might tell of where he is.
"Rest then... Lay in peace and close your eyes...You are protected here, fear not."
Ary whines faintly and nods, letting a quiet sigh escape his maw as he lays out on his back, tail kept curled around his waist as his eyes close, ears twitching and swiveling to catch the sounds of a stream just outside his visual range. His breathing slows as a sensation of warmth covers him, his shoulder and chest tingling slightly as though brushed by a feather or whisp, though far from an uncomfortable feeling. His mind seems to slow as well as everything else, the fog of his memories beginning to play out before him as they had before.

"Ary...c'mon, wake up...I know I'm comfortable, but seriously!" the fox hears the somewhat familiar voice of Elsiet whisper in his ear. "You're lucky no one's bothered to come in here to get us yet."
"N-nmmnh...wha...E-Elsiet...? Wh..what happened..?" Ary whines faintly and clings to the warmth of the leopard, gasping faintly and shivering finding himself suddenly cold and sinking deeper into the warmth of the water.
"You fell asleep again Ary...Feeling any more like yourself?" the cat asks in slight concern, though whether for the fox's health or their tenuous friendship he wasn't sure.
"I...remember being in here with you...but that's about it right now..." the fox mumbles quietly as he nuzzles along the feline's neck.
"Oh no...you...dont remember lastnight at all now...?" Elsiet's ears lay back as a worried expression dominates his features.
"Oh! No, no no...I'm sorry...heh.. I remember as much as ever in that regard...I just..still, nothing beyond that...I mean." Ary blushes slightly at the leopard's concern as he looks up at him, smiling almost shyly at finding Elsiet returning his gaze with a chuckle.
"Don't worry me so! I almost thought you were forgetting everything...though I must admit I am somewhat glad you don't remember more...in a selfish sort of way, I guess." he chuckles again and lowers his head, smiling at hearing the fox giggle at his response. "You seem more shy than you used to be though...less confidant than I'm used to seeing you. Its really cute actually." Elsiet teases the fox and gives his nose a lick.
Ary blushes more deeply from being teased and curls up against the leopard, gasping feeling a paw grope his rear. The fox whimpers quietly and bites his lip, seeing a grin play across the leopard's maw.
"One of these days I'm gunna have to get more intimately aquainted with..." Elsiet pauses for a moment as he slips his paw more closely underneath the fox's tail.
"W-with...?" Ary gulps softly and presses close against the cat, his muzzle coming to rest on his shoulder.
"Well...With you, obviously." the leopard grins broadly at hearing no objections, his unoccupied paw slipping up to gently grasp Ary's maw and lifts his head, feeling the fox's heart skip as he presses into a kiss. Quiet whimpers escape the vulpine, though he does nothing to pull away as the kiss deepens, their muzzle's entangled and tongues brushing tenderly against each other.
Elsiet carefully guides Ary to sit more fully in his lap as the kiss parts, his paws roaming slowly up and down the fox's back and sides, his hidden claws just barely grazing the skin beneath the lush fur, easily able to feel Ary's heart race from being so close, each body in tune with the other's desire.
"W-we mustn't... I..thought you said we weren't allowed..." the vulpine whines in distress, his objection clearly not his wish, the want in his eyes and his obvious arousal easy to see beneath the water's surface pressed well against the leopard's stomach.
Elsiet purrs and pulls Ary closer and into another slightly more lustful kiss, his paws groping at his rump again and guiding the vulpine into position straddled over his hips, licking across his lips. "Oh...I could hardly care at this point...lets just promise each other not to get caught." the feline smirks as Ary nods, and with that, he eagerly pull's the fox down slow, attempting to be careful with his new playmate as he guides that lovely rump to sit flush in his lap, mewing and kissing the fox deeply, the leopard's arousal buried happily under Ary's tail.
The fox and the leopard got much better acquainted over the next two weeks of meeting in secret, letting their passion play out in whatever way they wanted while maintaining a degree of separation otherwise. The fox was continually accosted by the wolf as well, though. Each night that he visits the tavern, the wolf would pay quite well in assurance that Ary would be only with him the entire time.
It was a tricky situation that the fox found himself in, being desired by such a strong male as the wolf, who pays and expects his prize to be with no one else. His trysts with Elsiet were very likely to get him in a lot of trouble if Dressle found out. Or worse, if the wolf found out somehow... Ary had no idea who the wolf was outside that room. He was handsome, considerably taller than the fox was. His fur was well maintained. At least, whenever Ary saw him, anyway. His paws were somewhat rough, though had a gentleness to the way they played over the vulpine's body each night that belied grace. His...other assets, well...he certainly knew what he was doing, to say the least.
Though his time spent with Elsiet had been so much more enjoyable, much more intimate and passionate rather than his expected cooperation with the wolf... Ary could only do as he was told with him, where as with the leopard, he could do whatever he wanted.
Thoughts such as this plagued the vulpine's mind and dreams, even. His lost memory at that time had little relevance to his present situation. He had yet to even see Dressle outside of being told that the wolf would want him to be available that particular day. The level of interest their 'master' had in him at one point seemed less so than before.
"That could be because you're only useful to him through that one patron anymore..." Elsiet had offered as explanation for this one night.
"Maybe..." Ary sighs and closes his eyes, relaxing on top of the leopard while squirming faintly on occasion. They had found a hidden room within the bath, complete with a bed, oddly enough, and had taken to using that for their playful encounters.
"Look, Ary... I know this is dangerous...And as much as I absolutely love pounding that gorgeous rump of yours..." Elsiet lets his words trail off into a moan as the fox kisses him and slowly draws himself off the feline's spent member, gasping softly and grinning at the memory of only moments before.
"A-ahh...sorry..." Ary pants quietly, laying on his side and curling up against the leopard.
"I'm worried for you Ary...I'm jealous of that wolf, stealing you away from me every night he wants..." Elsiet admits, hugging one arm around the fox as he stares up at the ceiling.
"Heheh... Stealing me away from you huh? Are you really...?" Ary blushes hearing that and returns the hug tightly, laying his ears back against his skull.
"He's been mentioning that he wants to 'free' me from this place...something about some treasure that would set him up for life... I'm afraid he might try to buy me Elsi...I...wish we could escape together somehow...just the two of us." the vulpine whispers the last part as he rests his head upon Elsiet's chest.
The leopard quickly rolls over on top of the fox and pins him down, staring into his eyes with an intensity that the fox hadn't seen before then. Ary squirms and blushes, his initial gasp turning into quiet whimpers as the leopard keeps staring, almost searching his eyes. "Ary..." Elsiet starts, leaning his head down slowly until their noses touch. "Please...do you...Are you serious?!"
The suddenness of the albeit quiet outburst caught the fox off guard, leaving Ary to only nod in acknowledgment.
"Ary! I..." Elsiet looks off to the side at the bed, his brow furrowed in conflicted thoughts. "Ary...please...If you...If you do get out, please stay away..."
"I would only stay away if you came with me...I.." the fox began, though the leopard cut him off with a deep kiss.
"Don't you dare... I've resigned myself to being stuck in this life. If you can get out then Go!"
Tears filling his eyes, Ary suddenly moves to pin Elsiet instead, a faint though firm growl resonating in his chest. "I would never leave you here! You deserve so much more than this place...If I get out of here, I swear to you that I 'will' come back for you if we don't escape together!"
Elsiet just blinks, his muzzle hanging open slightly at how forceful and firm the sweet and shy little fox he's been growing so fond of had suddenly become. It was he, this time, who was resigned to simply nod, the strength in the fox's arms wavering then before he collapses on top of the feline, crying and whimpering now as he clings to Elsiet desparately.
"Shhh...shhh its ok...I...I'm so sorry...of course I want to escape with you, its just...I don't want you put in danger for me...please...If you do get away from here and you really do come back for me... just be safe, ok?" the feline holds the fox close, curling his tail around the other's tightly.

Ary woke some time later with tears in his eyes again, the memory hitting hard on his emotional state. How could he have forgotten that... How long had it been?
"You have yet to remember yourself young one...rest still longer." the whisp of a voice calls out to the fox, seemingly unconcerned of his troubled mind.
"I have to go back for him...Please, I'm begging you! Let me leave so that I might return and fulfill my promise!" Ary cries out into the glade, looking about for some sort of break in the mist that belied an escape. Though none was to be found...
"Your spirit must still heal before you can return...lest you be lost to yourself beyond this glade." the voice speaks calmly, the mist shimmering faintly in the twilight.
"How can I find myself...I'm right here!" the fox cries as he stands, though soon finds his legs are weak and collapses onto his knees.
"Your body must recuperate before you may travel very far..." the echo seems almost amused for once, though that only adds to Ary's frustration now as he lays out on his back again and closes his eyes tight.
For what seemed like an eternity to the fox, though was likely only a couple days, he continued to remember the events that lead him into the forest. How the wolf had finally convinced Dressle to give Ary to him, using the ploy of how rich he would be once he and the fox returned with his fabled treasure. Dressle was very simple minded in that regard. Anything that promised more wealth was more than worth it to him.
Ary was able to spend one last secret day alone with Elsiet before he was taken away, a day that was spent in passionate embrace hidden away from everyone. The both of them were nearly heartbroken at being torn apart, though the feline braved it with a strength and confidence that they would meet again.
The wolf seemed more rough than Ary had ever seen him be in the room as he led him off in collar and chain, the fox cautiously climbing up into the wolf's carriage as instructed and soon followed by the wolf, the door being closed promptly behind them before the driver rallied the horses and they were off. The journey was a slow one, several days passed before they reached the forest. Several days of which the fox was forced to pleasure the wolf numerous times, his muzzle getting quite a work-out as anything more would rouse suspicion by the driver from the carriage rocking, or more particularly, the fox crying out. The way the wolf figured it, with his muzzle stuffed full, all he had to do to silence his new pet was shove his head deeper between his legs until he begged to be allowed to breathe again.
Upon reaching their destination the wolf bid the driver to leave, claiming it would be many days until he need return for them, a quarter cycle at least. Their camp was set in a clearing near a set of ruins within which the wolf's treasure resides.
**********************************************************************
Sleeping as peacefully as he was able, Ary was woken by a sharp pain under his tail and a paw clasped against the back of his neck, forcing him to stay down as the wolf pressed his sizable length into the fox inch by inch. Ary cried out in pain though was quickly silenced by the wolf's other paw wrapping tight around his muzzle, reduced to whimpering and pleading for the wolf to stop.
"Why would a little slut like you want me to stop? I figured you'd love to be used so thoroughly!" The wolf practically yelled into Ary's ear, biting it roughly as he bucked hard and drove himself in to the hilt, the fox crying out deeply and arching his back.
"W-why..! W..why are you..d-doing this..." Ary whimpered as he was forced to submit to his new master, tears streaming down his cheeks and staining the grass he was pinned against.
"Because you betrayed me! I came every day I could to spend my nights with you, Only you! No one else would do...All I asked is that you be only with me!" the wolf's tone was rough as he drove himself against the smaller fox, being far from the gentle wolf Ary knew from the tavern.
"I...It w-was my j..job...to b-" the vulpine tried to explain, though a particularly hard slam of the wolf's hips shut him up as his voice cut out, claws digging into the ground.
"I don't care if they forced themselves on you. You LET them! You gave THEM what was mine! And I will kill you for that betrayal..." The wolf growled deeply.
As he drew his hips back and moved his paws up towards the fox's throat, Ary quickly kicked the wolf hard between the legs and frantically scrambled away, running for his life and leaving the wolf to howl in pain as he collapsed onto the ground where Ary had been.
"H-he's gunna...k...kill me..." The thought kept rushing through the fox's mind as he ran, each jolt of his paws connecting with the ground making him cringe from the pain under his tail, though only serving to keep him focused right now. He had to escape...
**********************************************************************
Ary cried out as he woke this time, quickly turning onto all fours as the need to vomit arose quickly in his gut. He coughed and gasped, trying to spit the horrid taste from his maw once he finally finished expelling what little he had eaten days before. Tears fell from his eyes steadily as the searing memory of that incident in particular burned in his mind.
"Like I needed to remember That again!" he called out before crawling off a ways and collapsing into the cool night air, whimpering and biting at the blades of grass he lay upon to calm his stomach, preferring the taste to what permeated his muzzle already anyway...
"We apologize young one... Our intention is for you to recall older memories...not one's so fresh." the echo was quieter this time, a breeze playing through the trees and light of the two suns just starting to filter through the mist.
"Why do I need to remember...Its not like my life was any better before I was working at that tavern!" the vulpine closes his eyes and digs his claws into the grass, trying to expel any frustration he's feeling.
"You do not know yourself... that is why. You do not remember your own abilities, your own nature." a whisper this time, though more directly in his mind than in the air.
"What does that matter if I can be happy as I am now..." Ary mumbles and sighs, lowering his head. "I may remember what you ask of me in time...but I can Not simply sit here and do nothing until then! Please! Let me go and free my friend..." he pleads with...he doesn't even know what he's pleading with, only that it's keeping him here and keeping him from doing what he promised.
A pause longer than normal left only the sounds of nature in the air, and for a time Ary thought he wouldnt receive an answer... "Very well..." the echo rang through the air, startling and bringing a faint gasp from the fox when he hears it, the mist slowly fading, and a shadow flitting across the ground before stopping a paws breadth in front of Ary. A raven, a beautiful and deep, nearly black purple hue to its feathers, eyes as blue as the sky.
"Whoa...a-are you...who saved me, then..?" Ary asks, unsure of what else it could be.
"Yes and no. I am here to watch over you... Let us be off, young kit." the raven speaks, though its beak doesn't move as it speaks, causing the fox to tilt his head in curiousity.
"A-alright...um...which way though..?" the vulpine asks and lowers his head, having no clue where they even are to begin with at this point. The raven caws and flutters its wings, stepping closer to the fox.
"Well where are we heading?" it asks with a tilt of its own head to mimic Ary's expression in a rather peculiar way.
"I need to go and help Elsiet escape...I swore I would come back for him... regardless of whether my initial means of escape worked out for me or not...I wont break my promise to him." the fox states plainly.
The raven nearly seems to grin hearing such confidence in the fox's voice, hopping closer and then up onto his shoulder, nudging an ear with its beak. "Well then, master fox. We head towards the rising suns."
