Dark Night: Part 1
#1 of Dark Night
So for those of you that aren't my followers and for those that are. Please be patient with me on this one, it's a really hard one for me to write because as most of you know I write from dreams and in essence I am Jay. In this one, the first paragraph is my background married into the dream and storyline. It's getting better now, but it's a slow battle. I've been sitting on this one since April because I haven't been able to deal with putting it out there, but here it goes.
This story also has a new character, sorry it's light on the description but I honestly don't know what sort of description to give him. It's fully possible that he won't get one in this story, at least not right now so i guess you can put in whatever your imagination wants as my best friend.
part 2 is already in the works but needs to be cleaned up and edited, but give me time.
Rain poured down on the cold night as Jay got into his car. Not sure of where he was going he puts the car in gear and drives. The miles roll by as his head swims with thoughts that shouldn't be there. Highway speeds and wet roads don't help those thoughts at all. If I just turned the wheel fast I could end it all and everyone would think it was just an accident. Thoughts like these have been running through his mind for awhile. It's been a rough couple of months. The past few months have been rough on Jay, losing grandpa in the middle of a battle with depression and loneliness that he already wasn't doing to well at. It would be so easy to end it all. NO! I can't do that; everyone would hate me if I did. And with that last thought it hit him, he knew where he was going in his mindless direction. He was headed to the one person that's kept him from ending it all, his best friend. A renewed sense of determination washed over him as he continued his drive, it'll still be hours before he gets there but at least he has a clue where he was headed.
Hours pass and he pulls off the main road and onto a gravel driveway. Pulling down and round a long driveway is a secluded house that only has one light on outside. It's late, maybe I shouldn't bother him, what if he's asleep and he hates me for waking him? _ Even with this thought he still gets out of the car and walks slowly up to the door in the pouring rain. Knocking lightly on the wooden door he waits patiently in the rain to see if anyone answers. _I knew it, he's asleep, I hope I didn't wake him he'll be mad at me for that. Turning away from the door, drenched and now dejected, he starts back to his car. Halfway to his car he hears the door open behind him. Slowly turning around he sees his best friend standing in the doorway in just his boxers.
"Who's there?" Sean says as he stares out into the darkness through sleepy half lids. As he stares out a look of worry crosses his face as he recognizes Jay standing out in the rain. Seconds pass as there's no movement other than the rain.
Suddenly Jay runs back to the door and wraps Sean in his arms and buries his face in Sean's neck and shoulder. Indistinguishable from the dripping rain, tears stream down his face and onto his best friend's naked skin. Holding the embrace for a few minutes the only sound is their breathing and the soft sounds of rain. Breaking the embrace Jay quickly looks down before he can see the look on Sean's face and mumbled, "I'm sorry;" before turning and trudging back to his car, actually feeling worse for the events that just transpired.
Knowing something's wrong but not what, or how bad it is, Sean watches as his best friend walks back to his car. Sure he needs to do something but not knowing what he stands in the doorway and stares...
