#2 of Those College Years

Hey everybody! Here's chapter two of my series. This installment explores some new emotional territory, as well as introducing some new characters, whom we'll be seeing again, so let me know what you think!

Oh, and the obligatory, "adult content" thing applies...hopefully you know that by now;).

Enjoy!

Tyler's eyes shot open in shock. Vaguely, his mind registered the pile of clothes on the floor. The senses flowing from his body confirmed the presence of the muscular white wolf behind him, his own arms wrapped around the smaller wolf. Slowly, the memories of the previous

night's events burned through the fog of sleep.

What the hell had he done?!

With growing alarm, he remembered the intimate encounter in the practice room, the frenzied rush back to his room, and the passionate fusion which had occurred therein. His breath quickened as he realized that he had just given his virginity to a wolf he had barely known for days.

This wasn't supposed to happen!

Panicked now, Ty jumped out of the bed, oblivious to his lack of clothing. The sudden start woke

his partner, who murred groggily.

"Out," Ty spat suddenly.

Mark's ears perked at the new sound, but his mind had obviously not registered the order.

"Huhr?" he asked incoherently.

"Get out," the smaller wolf repeated with significantly more urgency. Tears were starting to well up in his deep green eyes. "You need to get out, right now."

Finally, the words clicked in the white wolf's brains, though his confusion persisted.

"Hun, what...?"

Ty interrupted him. He was on the verge of a total breakdown; this needed to be over right now.

"Mark," he gasped, "I screwed up." He nearly sobbed, "I need to not see you right now."

Now with obvious concern on his face, Mark sat up in the bed. Why was Tyler acting like this?

"Ty, honey, what's going on?"

"Don't call me that!" Ty managed to squeeze through his gritted teeth, "just get out!"

Mark could see from the expression on the smaller wolf's face that he wasn't kidding. With one final exasperated look of bewilderment, he grabbed his clothes from the pile on the floor and quickly dressed himself. He reached towards the door but turned for one final glance.

"Ty, if there's anything..."

Ty cut him off. "Leave!"

Mark did so quietly, wetness building in his eyes as well. What had gone wrong?

As soon as the door had clicked shut, Ty collapsed onto his hands and knees, silently cursing his foolishness. How could he let this happen again? He wasn't supposed to fall in love...not now, when he had so little time left at Heading. And now...to do this...he had gone as far as ever...

And he had loved it...nothing before had ever felt so perfect. He had once again felt that fleeting happiness which had so long eluded him. Not since his first kiss so long ago had he felt the bliss and elation that had consumed his entire being last night. But he had sworn to himself that he would never leave himself vulnerable like before. He was no longer a toy to be used and discarded.

But what of Mark? He had made Ty feel safe...he emanated strength and concern for the smaller wolf. Never before had Ty met another quite like him. Was he throwing his first real chance at love into the wind? Was his shell becoming a prison? It distantly registered in the wolf's mind that he would never find what he needed if he never left the fortress of his fear.

He was afraid...that was the only way to describe it. He was afraid of losing what he had found. But oh! The ecstacy, the rapture of what had happened was too much! His soul was split between the warm sensuality of what had transpired and the cold fear of his crippled emotions. He could spend an eternity wrapped in the rapturous pleasure Mark had shown him. But was that the kind of eternity he needed?

It was too much for Ty. His carefully constructed world had fallen apart around him, and he couldn't deal with this alone; he needed his sole reliable source of support. Groping blindly through the tears that had started wetting his face, he reached for his cell phone. His hands fell upon it clumsily, and without looking, he hit the speed dial for Christine.

The otter's kind voice came back mercifully quickly. "What's up?"

Ty sobbed, "I need to talk."

Mark barely made it back to his room before collapsing in shock. What had just happened? It had seemed so perfect...what had he done wrong?

The white wolf could hardly comprehend the matter, drowned as it was in the warm memories of the previous night. For the first time, he had felt sure; Tyler had roused something in the larger wolf that had never been felt before. Mark had been with many guys, but not a one of them had touched him over a year the same way that Ty had done in a few short days. Mark had certainly never been one to buy into the idea of a "soul mate," but meeting Ty had changed all of that.

And now this had happened. It had started so effortlessly, and now he had been thrown out of the room of the wolf he knew he loved. The thought of it brought a new wave of tears to Mark's eyes, compounded by the memories of the last expression on Ty's face. The grey wolf had looked so afraid, so injured. That look alone had devastated Mark...and he had known the other wolf for naught but a week!

What the hell was going on here? Last night, it had seemed to both wolves that they could have gone forever like this. Now, Ty had told Mark that he simply didn't want to see him. Something was wrong, and the white wolf swore to himself that he would find out what it was.

Tyler was in quite a state by the time he had walked across campus to Christine's room. Emotions he had bottled up for years were all finding their way out now, and his body was wracked with wave after wave of sobs. When she opened the door, the otter could tell that this one was going to be much worse than Ty's usual episodes. She quickly ushered him in had him sit on her couch. Christine was known for being a font of advice, and this time was no different.

"Ok," she began softly, "what's wrong with my little puppy?"

Ty smiled slightly at her pet term for him; she always knew how to cheer him up, a talent she had first displayed when he first started coming out to people ages ago.

Hesitantly, and with much steady determination, Ty related the events of the previous evening to the kindly otter. She began slowly to smile as he told his story, a fact which gave the wolf no small degree of consternation.

"Is this funny?" he asked desperately, earning a chuckle from Christine.

"You're in love," she said matter-of-factly, "and it scares you."

Tyler's sobs stopped immediately. How did she always manage to pin down his problems so quickly?

"So what do I do?" he inquired plaintively.

Her smile broadened.

"What do you think? Tell him."

Ty stood up hastily.

"Tell him?!" he shouted. "How can I tell him this? This isn't supposed to happen!" He sighed. "The last time it did, I didn't think I would ever get over it...I knew I would never feel this way again."

"But you did, didn't you?" The stark honesty of the question caught Ty by surprise. She was right.

Christine paused before continuing.

"Ty, I've known you for four years, and I know you need this. You've got nothing left. You need someone like no person I've ever known."

The last statement earned a frown from the wolf, his teary eyes burning with a hint of anger.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

The unflappable otter just laughed.

"Isn't it obvious? You spend so much time 'being strong' that you can't let anyone be strong for you." Ty knew deep down that she was right. "And what happens when you run out of that?"

The silence hung in the room like a misty fog. Ty had been avoiding this moment for years, but the otter had forced it upon him. It was time for him to give up the fight.

The wolf nodded slowly. Somehow, Christine always knew exactly how to fix his problems. Of course, actually doing that might be somewhat more difficult.

"Chris," he spoke softly, "I threw him out. How do I get over that?"

He looked up, and the otter couldn't help but smile at the pathetic desperation in his eyes; the small wolf always managed to look cute when he was sad. But it was high time that someone else was at the receiving end of those pouting puppy-dog eyes.

"Tell him you were scared," she said kindly. "He'll understand. And then go slower; you don't need to rush things, you know. Besides, how did you feel last night?"

For the first time that day, a smile broke across Ty's face.

"It was amazing. I don't think I've ever felt like that. Mark made me feel so..." he paused to think of the perfect word, "...right. It was like we were absorbed in this," he paused again, "symphony of whirling happiness that was never going to end. And I didn't want it to end."

The otter gazed at the wolf with a look of profound understanding.

"Ty, I've seen you fall in love for the first time, heard the stories of your first guy, and helped you pick up the pieces when your heart was broken for the first time. If anyone has seen the ends of your emotional spectrum, it's me." She fixed the wolf with a stern look. "Don't let this pass you by. Feelings like that come once in a lifetime."

Tyler slowly nodded in agreement. It was time to swallow his fears. He had felt so right with Mark...those sorts of emotions couldn't lie.

Back on Southside, where Ty and the rest of the guys lived, Jayden, Ethan, and Jake were engaged in their usual carousing. As was typical, a movie was playing in the background on Ethan's computer while the three of them took turns attempting levels in another video game marathon. They followed the game only with half-interest, however; they had played it so many times that it demanded a mere portion of their attention.

Jayden was the obvious "expert" in the group. The small green dragon had developed fingers that were more than agile, thanks to years of intensive piano study (Ty and Jay regularly got into competitions, though the wolf had yet to give the young dragon a run for his money). He spent hours on the computer, a fact for which he received no end of well-intentioned teasing. Yet despite his apparent lack of physical activity, Jay was built like the archetypical lean, slim dragon. Not infrequently did he find Ty (who was not known for subtlety) ogling him innocently.

Next to the dragon sat Ethan, the golden retriever who had been Jay's partner in crime since high school. He was equally skilled with computers, though he had developed the somewhat unwanted habit of disassembling his devices when least appropriate. Ethan, for his part, had been Ty's closest friend for more than a decade, and it was to the sincerely honest golden retriever that the wolf had first come out (a revelation to which Ethan responded with fault-less nonchalance). The golden's sturdy, athletic build belied the warm, outgoing personality which was typical of his species.

Rounding off the group was the panther, Jake, who shared a suite with the other two. He had known Jayden and Ethan (and Tyler, of course) since the years of grade school, and had grown correspondingly close to all of them. Together with Mike (Jake's twin), they all formed what Ty referred to fondly as the family. And like most families, this group of friends was exceedingly close, to say the least; they had no secrets from each other, and the others always knew the details of one's adventures.

Thus, when Mark knocked shyly at the door, the three knew exactly why he was there. It didn't take him long to repeat the necessary details (they knew they would likely get the rest from Ty) and for them to realize what was going on.

"Mark," said Jake, "you better sit down."

Once the white wolf had taken a seat and been calmed by the other three, they began to explain.

"Mark, we've known Ty for, what," Jake looked at Jay and Ethan, "thirteen, fourteen years?"

They nodded, and the panther continued. "And so you could say we know him pretty well." Jake sighed. He hated talking about someone behind their back. "I think the most important thing you need to know is that few people have changed as much in college as Tyler Dougan. If you had seen him in high school," he chuckled, "well, you probably wouldn't recognize him."

Ethan butted in, "he was not exactly known for being the most outgoing person in school. In fact," his ears drooped in shame, "he was sort of an ass."

"Was?" interjected Jake with a smile, but Ethan waved him off.

"He was smart as hell...top of the class without ever studying, but you could tell nothing ever really made him happy. He was isolated from the world. Then," he paused, "when he came out, he changed completely. He started to open up, to flower. No pun intended," he said with a wry smile. "And then he started dating."

The other two flinched, and Mark's ears pressed against his head in both concern and slight jealousy.

Ethan went on, "it started off well, but when it went downhill, it hit him hard. Here he was, opening himself up for the first time and completely not ready to discover how much a bad relationship hurts. They stayed on good terms after that," he said quickly, referring to Ty's first boyfriend, "but then he dated that damn raccoon.

"Chris used him and abandoned him. For a while, Ty was a total wreck. He swore off love completely, not least because getting into grad school had started to take a good bit of his attention. Oh, and he plans to move as far away from here as possible, so he says," he added with a sideways smile. "And now, here we are."

"Oh no," was all that Mark could utter, "and now I've gone and..."

Jayden cut him off.

"You've done what he needed," the dragon replied, earning a quizzical look from the white wolf.

"He needs someone more than he knows."

They sat in silence for a few moments after that revelation, Mark pondering their words. Why hadn't Ty told him?

"Thanks guys," Mark said, standing up, "I think I need to find a mutual acquaintance of ours."

The three friends smiled. They had done well...someday Ty might find out how much his family was really looking out for him.

After his conversation with Christine, Ty knew exactly what he had to do. Getting the courage to do so, however, was another matter. Instead, he employed his typical response: retreat to the practice rooms and try to calm his nerves. Within moments, his fateful violin was once more nestled on his shoulder, and without thinking about it, he was coasting through the soundtrack of one his favorite musicals. The lilting melody barely registered in his mind until he heard a voice singing behind him.

"I could have danced all night, I could have danced all night..."

Ty's neck nearly snapped as his head wheeled around to face the doorway. Mark was there, smiling gently.

"And still have begged for more..." he continued, urging Ty to keep playing.

Ty couldn't, though. He slowly lowered the violin, gazing longingly at the white wolf. Christine was right; he couldn't let this opportunity pass him by.

"Mark, I was wrong..."

The larger wolf cut him off, moving close to place a finger on Ty's lips.

"Shh...I just wish you had told me before we did anything." His face softened, melting Ty's remaining walls of security. "Honey, I will never hurt you."

The two stood there silently before Ty sprang into Mark's arms, nearly dropping his precious violin in the process. He dug his muzzle into the larger wolf's chest, utterly surrendering himself to him. In response, Mark squeezed him tightly; finally, he understood just how much Ty would need him. When Ty's head came back up, his face was wet with tears.

"Mark, I don't even know what to say."

Mark cocked his head to one side.

"Who said you had to say anything?"

Ty simply smiled and placed his head on Mark's shoulder. Maybe feeling this way wasn't so bad, after all. As if reading his thoughts, the larger wolf pulled him into another tight embrace.

"You don't need to be strong anymore. I'm here."

They stood there like that for some time, Ty slowly letting his anxiety melt into the warm body of his companion. Finally, Mark pulled away and looked at him.

"Now, don't you think there's a better place for this than a practice room?"

Ty looked quickly around the room, his previous insecurity forgotten in the warm strength of the other wolf.

"You know," he said slyly, "I always said these pianos were useless."

He moved in close to the other wolf, the familiar tight feeling in his crotch returning.

"Why don't you prove me wrong," he breathed, baring his teeth in the process.

Mark growled his approval, cocking an eyebrow in the process.

"Yet, five minutes ago, you had sworn off love," he said, shaking his head. "You are a strange wolf."

Ty smiled coyly.

"And from the sound of it, I'm your strange wolf."

That was all the encouragement the larger animal needed. With a lusty growl, he grabbed Ty and placed him atop the baby grand piano. Leaning over him gently, he nuzzled his nose before grabbing him in a passionate kiss. They caressed each other wildly, paying little heed to where their hands traveled. Within moments, they were shirtless, their previous insecurity totally evaporated in the heat of the moment. The scent of their arousals was rapidly filling the small room, and the piano groaned under their combined weight. Already, Mark was grinding against him, his erection rubbing against Ty's.

Mark broke the kiss and started to move slowly down Ty's body, licking and kissing as he went. He paused to nibble at the smaller wolf's nipples, eliciting groans of pleasure from both of them. He grabbed Ty's paws and pinned them at the smaller wolf's sides before dragging his canines over his companion's chest and abdomen slowly, causing Ty to moan loudly at the new sensation.

As stealthily as he could, Mark snuck his teeth under Ty's waistband and started tugging at it. Ty looked up to see what the new commotion was, but at that point Mark growled in the back of his throat, sending an intense tickling sensation through Ty's now-erect member. The smaller wolf threw his head back in delight, groaning. After a few short moments, Mark had worked Ty free of his clothes, and he licked playfully at his now-exposed cock. Ty gasped every time the larger wolf's tongue started a stroke. Was there no end to the feelings Mark could work out of his small grey body?

Without trying to break Mark's grip on his forepaws, Ty placed his hind paws against the side of Mark's pants, pulling them down roughly and eliciting a deep, throaty growl from the white wolf. The growl traveled once more down Ty's cock, causing him to gasp again in pleasure.

Ever so slowly, Mark shifted his attention from Ty's member and began to travel up the grey wolf's chest. He paused at his nipples before sinking once more into an energetic kiss. Mark was now thrusting powerfully against the smaller wolf, and Ty thrusted back in response, causing the piano to shake rather precariously.

Suddenly, Mark stopped and looked down at his companion.

"You know, I usually don't often do this without any sort of lube."

Ty smiled back.

"You know, I don't often do this on top of a piano."

That was all the impetus Mark needed. He spit on his hands and quickly rubbed his own throbbing length, relishing the sensation and groaning in pleasure. He was surprised, then, when he felt Ty's paws push him away.

"Uh-uh...you're not allowed to do that," the small wolf said, grabbing Mark's cock and slowly rubbing up and down its length. In response, Mark grabbed Ty's own wolfhood and started to paw him off at the same pace. They started to groan in sync with each other, and Mark could feel Ty trembling under him.

"Not yet, puppy dog," the large wolf said, stopping his own pumping motions and moving Ty's hand away at the same time.

Ty was still trembling when he nodded his OK at the larger wolf. In response, Mark slowly began to push into Ty's tight tailhole, and Ty grunted loudly at the sharp pain.

"Oh gawd," Mark breathed. Ty was still as tight as ever.

Mark rested briefly once he was hilted, letting the small wolf get used to the sizeable cock of his lover. The small wolf indicated this readiness by grinding his ass into Mark's crotch, begging him to breed him.

Mark was more than happy to oblige, and he thrusted slowly, leaning down to sandwich Ty's exposed wolfhood between their furry bellies. Ty whimpered at the combined sensation from his cock and tailhole.

"Dear lord...ugh," he moaned, "oooohhhhhhh..."

Mark picked up his pace, earning more pleasurable grunts from his lover and adding his own vocalizations. Thank God the practice rooms were soundproof.

It wasn't long before both wolves were shaking in anticipation. Mark's knot was well-formed now, ramming mercilessly against Ty's hole and eliciting a whimper every time it hit.

"Ahh! Tie...me...please" Ty grunted, followed quickly by a loud pop as the knot entered him. Mark picked up the pace even more, fucking Ty as hard as he could.

"Oh shit..." Ty breathed. "Oh God...I'm gonna...ahh...cum!"

"Me...too..." Mark responded between thrusts.

Their hips were now grinding furiously. Ty was the first to go, splattering wolf cum across the stomach and chest of both wolves. The new warmth was all that was needed to send Mark over the edge, and he emptied load after load of his hot seed into Ty's rear. His entire body shook with the orgasm as his balls emptied into his companion.

When their respective orgasms had subsided, they lay atop the piano, panting and sweaty. For what seemed like an eternity, Ty's green eyes stared deep into the sky blue of Mark's. Finally, he lifted his head and gave him the slightest peck on the lips.

"I love you."

Mark smiled back.

"I love you, too, honey."

He grabbed Ty and pulled him off the piano, his knot popping out noisily and eliciting a sharp gasp from the small wolf. He pulled him tight and whispered into his ear.

"Let me be your strength."

Ty's only response was to grip the larger wolf tightly and press his face into Mark's strong chest.

Mark squeezed him back. They did not need words anymore.
