Tales from Partridge Drums III:
Dinner with the Winstones
By Mohawk Puma
It was a long drive to the Winstone estate, and James sighed with relief at the sight of the lion couple's home. Manor was more like it, but still... they had steak. At least, that's what they said when they had called him to invite him.
"Mr. Puma? Elincia Winstone. We'd like for you to come over to dinner, my mate and I. We have steak, potatoes, quail, and wine. It would be your consideration to accept, and an honour besides."
And so here he was, dressed in his violet suit and tie, freshly showered and groomed. He went up the driveway to where a valet, a rodent, took his car and his keys.
"Be sure to watch those, now." The valet laughed at his suggestion, padding in to his car to drive it to the garage.
There was also the promise of a rare artifact, ancient Egyptian. Now, James was a bit of an Egypt nut, could name most of the Dynasties of Egypt and their rulers. The heretical Amenhotep, later Ahkhen, and the whole lot. Oh yes... and the worship of cats. That got him purring as he entered the foyer of the place. His paws were silent on the lush carpeting, the décor gold and white. There were various pictures on the walls, many great cats, lots of lions, he noted. He was looking at one in particular, a garden piece, showing a group of male and female lions together.
"The Garden of Paradise... where the fruit of the lion swells in the belly of the lioness."
His ears twitched at this, and he turned on his paws to see Elincia. The lioness was in a green shoulder-less dress, the top of her bust visible.
"Enjoying yourself?" She purred, smiling at him, showing off her fangs. Grey came in like a shadow, dressed in a black vest and pants.
"Dinner will be ready in a few minutes, love." He went behind her to give her neck a lick and her ears a nip. The lioness shivered, and James could see her eyes dilate in pleasure. She teasingly bopped him on the nose and laughed.
"Of course, I'll be showing him a few more of our... collection." Grey nodded and went to another wing of the manor.
"Come with me, Mr. Puma." She purred and beckoned him along, her tufted tail moving side to side as she led him along. The hallway they were in was filled with more paintings, each depicted felines. Leopards, lions, tigers, even some pumas... There was one painting in particular that caught the puma's eye.
The painting was of a feline, but a very strange one. The face was flat, with defined lips and eyes that looked non feline to him. A strange set of headfur, purple, grew from the front and sides of her head. In the back, a set of white wings grew. These were extended outward. She had nothing on her chest, letting her sizeable breasts hang freely. They did not sag, they were perky with youth, and upon a closer look, had well defined nipples. He wanted to latch on and suckle.... If but for a moment. Going down, he saw a trim, flat tummy, and the only article she wore, a set of blue panties, tied with a string. He felt something hit his tie, then put a paw to his face to realize that he was drooling.
"That one... is a sphinx. A form of mythological creature. She catches your eye, doesn't she? We've the thought that is a form of Bastet." She let out a little laugh at his drooling and his attempt to compose himself. "Incites your mating hunger, mmm?" Elincia turned around him and began to whisper into his ears,
"Makes you want her, huh? Take her until she begs for your cubs, get her tummy nice and big, breasts full of milk..."
"No!" James shook her away, panting. His fur had started to become damp with sweat, and his eyes dilated from her whispers.
"What are you doing to me?"
She giggled, licking one of her paws. "You did say that you were into Ancient Egypt, yes?"
"I don't remember saying anything like that, but yes I-"
She cut him off. "Then follow me. I've more to show you." She then led him down the hall to... paradise.
Various hieroglyphic pictures adorned the walls, priceless tapestries and wall engravings. There were various ushabti, statuettes meant to guide and serve the deceased in the afterlife. Also, there were statues of some of the great pharaohs, and of the various gods and goddesses of the Egyptian pantheon. The room was done over in gold and wood tones, very earthy, James noted. He saw Elincia go over to one of the statuettes and pick it up.
"Come here." He padded over, in awe of the collection.
"This is quite the collection... I'll not ask." The puma purred, looking down at the statuette in the lioness' paw. The figure was a small, cat headed being, female, by the large chest and hips. He moved to touch it, when:
"Hee hee!"
"What was that?!" Elincia looked up at him, her ears and muzzle twitching in surprise.
"What is it?"
James shook his head, tail swishing as his paws kneaded the floor. "I heard... a giggle."
"I see..." The lioness nodded, holding up the figure for him to see. "This is at least 5,000 years old, found in a XVIII dynasty tomb. A great queen, and a loyal servant to Bastet. It was said that she was blessed with great fertility, and made personal tribute to the goddess at her temples. She gave vast amounts of gold and offerings to her priests, and was rumoured to have been well rewarded." She turned her paw this way and that, making the material shine, despite its' dark colours. "Black onyx, that's all we know."
And again the puma reached out to touch it.
"Hee hee! You are very curious, are you not? So cute..." And again, that voice, female, lilting, seductive. Elincia saw him do this and noted his interest.
"Here, take it." She dropped it into his curious paw, as James took it with surprise.
"You're sure? This is a priceless artifact..."
"It seems to have found a home with you, considering you're hearing voices!" She laughed, pleasantly as the puma's ears rose up and his fur turned a darker shade of red. Grey poked his head in at that moment.
"Dinner is ready, love. Bring Mr. Puma along, please." Elincia nodded as James put the figurine in his pocket.
"This will be fun!"
=^.^=
He was soon led down the hall, following the lioness as she led him to the dining room. The room was a lavish affair, with gold being the primary colour. There was a large table in the middle of the room, with seats for three at the moment. There were several plates, white; these were set up at the three chairs. On said plates was the most savoury steak and potatoes that James had ever seen. In the middle was a stuffed, cooked quail, cooked like a chicken. It sat like a king on a large, golden, jewel encrusted plate. He could hear some music playing, a violin. Elincia purred as she put a record label on the table. The record cover had a sabretoothed tiger, shirtless, with brown fur and a light cream chest. He was holding a violin in the correct position, revealing he had markings that looked like a violin's design on his shoulders. He had thin framed glasses on his eyes, which were dual coloured; one was blue, the other red. He also had a patch of darker headfur, and a set of goggles.
"Mr. Hunter Stirling, playing Paganini." The puma nodded and took his seat.
"Come, let us eat." So said Grey as he took his knife and began to cut up the quail, then his steak. James nodded as he waited for the quail to be cut.
"Never had quail before."
Elincia purred as she lifted a forkful of steak to her muzzle, slowly eating it. The puma watched the lion and lioness eat, then started to dig into his own steak. Ahhhh... it had been a long time since he had steak this good.
"Try some, here." Grey took a piece and set it on James' plate. The puma looked, poked at it, looked again, then picked it up with his fork and ate it.
Delicious... The taste was exquisite, a sort of smoky, brusque glaze sauce, spicy herbs, and the bird itself. The pun was true... it did taste like chicken. He slowly ate the meat, his predator's teeth going through it easily. He was loath to swallow when he was done, but there was steak... Lots of it. There was a plate of butter, and a knife by his side to spread it with. He put the butter on his potatoes and was surprised to find an _au jus_cup near his plate. It was filled with a reddish, brownish juice sauce.
"This looks good..." He purred as he poured the sauce upon his steak, taking his knife and cutting it into smaller pieces. Taking his fork, he took a piece soaked in the sauce and nibbled, then ate it. The flavour... earthy, spicy, down to earth. Finer than any restaurant he'd ever been to, except maybe Ottawa...
"It is good." He swallowed and nodded to Elincia and Grey. He took another piece, and did the same. Swallowed, and took a drink. Each plate had a golden goblet, filled with water. There was a wine bottle in the centre of the table, but that, as Grey would explain, was for later. He dabbed at his muzzle with a napkin, making sure that no sauce remained on his whiskers. Then he took up another piece of steak, and ate it.
"Ah... wonderful food, darling."
"Of course, love. Anything for you." The two lions purred and nuzzled each other, making the young tom feel lonely. He wouldn't mind someone like that, someone to hold him, keep him warm at night...
"Hee hee! Awe, does the puma want someone? Oooh..." And there it was again, that voice. Female, teasing... He liked putting teases in their place... he wished.
"Just you wait..." He finished his steak, and cleaned up, noticing his cell buzzing.
"Oh, Mr. Puma? Going already?" He nodded.
"Yes, sadly." He hoped it wasn't Dr. Goldeneye, or something back home... He made sure to clean his plate and set it aside, adjusting his suit accordingly. The lion couple got up to see him out.
"Thank you for coming over, may the Lady watch over you." Elincia got right up to him and give him a lick kiss.
"Wha-what was that for?" His fur turned several shades darker, and his tail thrashed in surprise.
"My mate likes to show affection for furs she likes." Grey chuckled and put his paws around the lioness, nuzzling into her neck. They'd summoned the valet, who happily gave James back his keys.
"Car's right out front, sir." The valet smiled a rodent grin at the puma. James reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple of toonies.
"It's not much, but here."
"Hey, thanks. They pay me well enough, but thanks for the tip." The three stood at the doorway of the manor to wave him off.
And soon enough, the young puma was homebound. While he was at a stop, he checked his cell, noticing a new text:
Brother's a daddy again, when are u going to give me grandcubs? <3 Ma
Of course, his brother dear. He had one nephew, and this would make his second. He couldn't fault his dear mother for being as such, she suffered from 'empty den syndrome', especially as since he was having his house built in Saint's Landing, where his father lived. Granted, it was his land, but he couldn't just let his cousins squabble over it, now could he?
He texted back at his next stop sign:
Be there in a bit. <3 James
And on and on, he continued to drive, wondering what his brother would name the new cub he had...
