Kelly looked at Jasmine, then at Alice, before her brow furrowed and she sighed quietly.
“Alice, you've been my friend since high school – we've been there – done that -”
Flicking a dark coloured ear, the Elk blushed and nodded. “Haven't we ever...”
“How do I – how can I forgive Stephen? For what he done with dear, innocent Jasmine? He – it wasn't just a 'what would it feel like if -' type of thing, I know that, Stephen is, between us – quite – a human specimen,i if you take my meaning...”
Alice raised both eyebrows, then chuckled quietly. “Oh my...well, apart from she is your biological daughter, I see no physical harm to Jasmine. I had wondered why she didn't express interest in the dominant buck we have here... Well, I diverge again, forgive me.”
Checking over Jasmine's teats and udder, Alice gently placed a stethoscope against Jasmine's chest and listened for a few moments, before she put it back around her neck and frowned, deep in thought.
“Okay, how, is up to you – should you? Yes, you should my dear, sweet doe. Stephen will punish himself more than you could ever hope too, because of what he done. Was it wrong? Well, that's subjective. One, he broke his vows and faith with you, granted. Second, Jasmine courted him – he didn't force himself upon her, mate with her against her will, hurt her – you get the idea.”
“He, I love him, I won't deny that – yet he – he mated with her and...”
Alice stared at Jasmine, tapping her cloven hoof on the floor with hollow clopping sounds.
“If I recall, a certain young, foolish doe – bred herself to a feral stag, when she was barely into her first heat...”
Blushing, Kelly looked away and muttered. “That was...”
Raising her dark eyebrow higher, Alice turned Kelly's head and stared into her eyes.
“Different...how? Because you're a doe, and he's a human? Its the same, biological issue – you mated to a feral buck, he, in his defence – mated to a feral – he thought – doe. How is it any different? Did that stag suffer pain or injury from you mating with him? No, if anything, he probably misses you! Of course, I'm – not – saying, go do it again...that last pregnancy? It was literally life threatening for you and your fawn.”
With an exasperated snort, Alice continued.
“ Now, we know Jasmine can not conceive to Stephen – its impossible on too many levels! So, I ask again, other than the 'she is his step-daughter' issue, put that aside for a moment. How is it wrong? I understand, legally and morally, some might – take offence to it? Yet, it was done with love, gentleness, compassion, her feelings in mind and above all – it was done in secret. Nobody seen them, nobody knows he bred with Jasmine – other than yourself, him and I, so...”
“I'm just – I'm just so...confused Alice, I don't know whether to hug him, or kill him!”
With a smile, Alice leaned forwards, then took Kelly's muzzle in her dark gloved paws, before she pressed her lips against Kelly's and kissed the startled young Whitetail long and deeply. Kelly moaned in fright and surprise, before Alice broke the kiss and stepped back, letting Kelly go.
“You...” Kelly gasped, her eyes wide, before she blushed deeply and hung her head.
“Yes, I did – why? Because it was what I needed – and what you needed – come now, you must remember those years at college together, sharing that tiny dormitory room – your homesickness and how I – cheered you up and come to love you, as one Doe loves another...mentally, spiritually and physically. We were good together, I can't lie...”
“You were always a dominant Doe - “ Kelly blushed and giggled shyly.
“You never had any complaints!” Alice smirked, and licked Kelly between the eyes.
Kelly laughed quietly, before she rose and walked over, stroking Jasmine's unconscious form gently.
“So...once again, I love him and I hate him, for what he done to Jasmine...you are positive, she can't conceive – and he didn't hurt her?”
Alice snorted, then stared at Kelly.
“No chance, and if you like, whilst she's sedated, I can do an internal examination, it's very painless, I assure you. If it'll reassure you, she isn't physically harmed.”
“I'll...trust your judgement, you're the lead Veterinarian here - “
“Now, about you, dear little doe!” Alice smiled, placing a paw gently on Kelly's belly.
“I'm scared – I can not tell a lie – will my child be a fawn, I mean, an anthromorph, or will it be...human? Or some terrible hybrid of the two?”
Alice frowned, before she snorted and shook her head.
“I can tell you straight away, if you like – of course – it'll take a little time, and a minor procedure, but I'm sure it'll be a lovely child, born out of love and trust between her anthromorph mother and the human father.”
“I wish I had your confidence...”
With a series of beeps, the machine finished its analysis and displayed the results on a screen. Alice looked at it, before her ears swept back and she coughed delicately into a paw.
“What...what is it?” Kelly squealed in alarm, sitting up before nausea washed over her and she had to lay back down.
“I think Stephen should be present, before I tell you...” Alice whispered, before she left the room.
Stephen returned, looking ashamed and embarrassed as he looked at Jasmine, then at Kelly's tear streaked eyes, then he ran to her and pulled her up, holding her tight.
“Alright, I've analysed the blood work, you'll be pleased to know Kelly, you're in perfect health for a doe of your age. Now, the news...”
Alice flicked her ears, as she frowned and thought how to best broach the subject.
“Well, there's no easy way to tell you both, so, I'll just tell you...Kelly? You're with twins...both healthy, baby fawns – it'll be a few months before we're completely sure and able to see them on the ultrasound – but the analysis is correct, you're carrying twins, from what I can tell – congratulations!”
Kelly's muzzle fell open, as she stared at Alice, who smiled and clasped her paws before her and nodded.
“I'm...twins?”
“Its not uncommon for a whitetail doe you know!” Alice chuckled.
“Feral does...not – not one like – like me...”
“Pssh - “ Alice admonished her gently. “It is just as likely for a feral as it is an Anthromorph! Whitetail are – to be indelicate – quite fertile. In one rutting season, its not uncommon for about 90% of doe's of breeding age, to conceive. It's the highest percentage of any of the Cervid.”
“I never...imagined, that we'd be having twins - “ Kelly whispered, eyes wide in disbelief. “I knew I was pregnant...”
“How – how long...” Stephen began, as he cuddled Kelly tight, then began kissing her all over her furred head.
“Usually? Gestation in a feral is about 200 days, Anthromorphs? Close enough to make no difference, give or take, say, a week either way. So, six and a half months – I won't lie to you Kelly, this pregnancy will be difficult, come like, three months, you'll have to give up work, as you'll be heavy with child.”
“I have responsibilities and - “ Kelly stammered. “I cant take time off work and -”
“You can – and you will - “ Alice sternly told her, then tapped her on the muzzle for good measure. “Stephen? It's going to be hard on her, mentally, physically and emotionally, so please – please – try to be patient and understanding. Kelly will be very sick as the pregnancy moves along, she is to drink plenty of water and milk – now – I have a special deer milk formula, Kelly's not going to like it – but promise me, you'll make her drink it, okay?”
“I'm not a fawn, I don't - “ Kelly snorted.
“You'll drink it, either way!” Alice chided her like a child, then smiled. “Come on, its not that bad, really – it's just like a feral doe's milk. It will help bolster your twins immune system, help them develop and be all around, good for them, and for you. Now – Stephen – a word with you, please?”
Stephen startled, then he squirmed and nodded.
Sitting him down, Alice took his hands in her paws, before she stared into his eyes.
“You know now, that Jasmine is Kelly's offspring – biologically and emotionally, Kelly is – well, she is upset with you, as you can imagine. I've spoken with her at length, but promise me – please – you will never, ever, try to take Jasmine against her will, nor will you allow yourself – or her – to be caught in a compromising position. I'm being straight with you – I've – suspected, for some time, your own sexual predilections lie that way...towards feral's and dear Kelly.”
“You...”
Alice stared at him, before she adopted her stern vet face, as she liked to call it.
“Yes, I've noticed how Jasmine behaves around you, you love her, and she, in her own way, loves you – I'm not going to judge either of you, myself and a young Zebra, well...”
Kelly's eyes grew like dinner plates, her muzzle falling open as she gasped.
Alice just laughed quietly, then slicked her ears back and coughed delicately, her inner ears turning crimson.
“Now you know...” Alice whispered.
