I decided I wanted to write a human x Mightyena story and realized the scenario I wanted worked really well with my existing ranger. However, this story merely sets up that future relationship. I felt it would be too long to set up in a single part. Instead, I also use this as an opportunity to expand on the relationship between my pokemon ranger and his Absol partner.

In this story, a pokemon ranger and his Absol partner spread warning of an imminent disaster. The ranger comes across a wounded Mightyena and catches him in order to save him and get him treatment. Afterward, the ranger comforts his Absol, who is sensitive to the fear and suffering the disaster has caused.

The story contains sex acts between a male human and a female feral pokemon.

The darkness was illuminated in a flash of violet light. Thunder boomed over the howling wind and pouring rain. A blond man in an orange ranger's rain jacket and black pants leaned into the wind, as he trudged forward. His flashlight struggled to pierce the blowing rain and track the white furred figure he was trailing through the tall grass.

Michael had arrived in Veilstone City that afternoon. A storm was forecast for that night, so he had planned to spend the night at a Pokemon Center, before carrying on to Pastoria in the morning. But his partner, Pythia, had insisted they not stop in the city. She had become increasingly anxious all day, wanting them to pick up the pace. She couldn't explain to him exactly what concerned her, but the ranger had learned not to discount his Absol's foresight.

They set off down route 214, with thunder clouds gathering overhead. As the Sun set, the wind picked up, carrying the scent of ozone, and soon the rain began. Leaving the route behind, through the storm, the ranger followed his partner west.

Absols were incredibly sensitive to dark-type energy, and the associated emotions, of fear, anger, hate, and suffering. it gave them the precognitive ability to foresee tragedies and disasters, both large and small. But by its nature, it was far from perfect. Pythia didn't know what event would happen, just where, when, and, sometimes, to whom.

They began to move uphill, towards the hills and cliff faces that would eventually lead into the mountains west of the route. Rivulets flowed down the slopes, as the rain came down in sheets. Despite his water repellent clothing, the rain soaked the ranger to the bone. The ground was turning to mud beneath his boots.

Finally, Pythia led Michael up a steep slope to a cliff face and stopped. A flash turned night to day, revealing a near vertical slope with small waterfalls pouring down its face. Living and working in the mountains, the ranger well knew the dangers of landslides. Nothing about the cliff's appearance told him that its collapse was imminent but his partners frantic eyes left him in no doubt.

"Pythia, we need to clear this slope. Go north and warn as many pokemon and any people you find. I'll do the same to the South." Michael shouted, over the roar of the storm.

"Sol!" His partner affirmed, before dashing off, her white form vanishing into the gloom like a departing phantom.

The ranger turned south, scanning the base of the cliff with his light, as he ran. His partner was far faster, with keener senses, both physical and supernatural. He'd hold her back if they stayed together. He just hoped a warning from a strange pokemon, appearing out of the night, would be heeded.

His light caught a shadow among the rock face, that, as he neared, resolved into the entrance to a shallow cave. He passed through a stream of water, pouring over the cave mouth, as he stepped into the cave. He was met with snarls, as his light played over black and tan furred forms covered in white bone. Quickly, he turned his light to illuminate his orange ranger's jacket and held out his other hand, palm out and open.

A wild pack of Houndooms and Houndours could be very dangerous, especially to a lone human, with no pokemon. But most wild pokemon, especially those close to a route, could recognize a pokemon ranger. That didn't mean they necessarily liked pokemon rangers though. Rangers often got into conflicts with wild pokemon, to keep the routes reasonably safe for young trainers. Yet, rangers were rarely attacked unprovoked, even by more dangerous pokemon, as m any wild pokemon owed their lives to a ranger's intervention.

A large Houndoom, with particularly impressive curved horns, stepped forward, growling low. His black fur was crisscrossed with scars and the tip of his left horn was missing. Flames licked at his chops in clear threat. Michael met the packleader's challenging crimson eyes without flinching. Turning his gaze away might defuse some of the tension, but it wouldn't earn him the respect he needed for the Houndoom to listen to him.

"You and your pack can't stay here, Houndoom." The ranger spoke, addressing the packleader directly, doing his utmost to project confidence and authority. As he spoke, he made broad gestures, first pointing at the houndoom, then waving his hand back towards the storm raging outside. "This cliff face is unstable, the heavy rain his going to make it collapse." He pointed at the cave ceiling, then jerked his arm down, spreading his hand wide.

He kept his eyes focused on the packleader, searching his canine features for understanding. The degree to which wild pokemon could understand humans varied widely. But older, evolved pokemon, tended to comprehend more. The Houndoom packleader stopped his growling and threat display. He continued to look into the ranger's blue eyes for a moment, judging.

The rest of the pack had fallen silent. The Houndoom turned to his packmates and howled. The other Houndooms and Houndours joined him in a chorus that chilled Michael's blood. But he did not flinch, allowing the supernatural dread to wash over him and then pass from his mind. He stepped aside, as the canine pokemon raced past him, into the teeth of the storm.

Michael gave the small cave a brief sweep with his light, ensuring it was empty. He braced himself, as he stepped back into the wind and rain; it had not let up in the slightest during his short time in the cave. He continued south, doing his best to peer through the darkness, knowing he was all too likely to miss the nests and burrows of sheltering pokemon.

Through long experience, he suppressed the thought. He knew it did no good to dwell on what he couldn't do. Beating himself up over what was beyond his power to alter just interfered with his ability to help those he could save.

His foot slipped in the muddy clay of the slope and he dropped his flashlight, as he extended his hands to catch himself. As he stood, he caught the flash of eyes in the dark, reflecting the beam of his flashlight. Stepping closer, he made out a slight overhang in the cliff, huddled beneath it a grey form stood out against the brown rock.

As the ranger approached, the figure rose on four shaky paws with a growl that cut through the storm. Lightning flashed, followed almost immediately by a crashing boom. In the moment it was illuminated, Michael beheld a bedraggled Mightyena. Teeth bared and hackles raised, it stood with its hindquarters pressed against the cliff, much of its fur caked brown with mud.

"Easy there, Mightyena, I'm not here to hurt you." Michael said, having to raise his voice over the sound of the storm.

He stepped forward, but paused, when the Mightyena's growl shifted from warning to aggression. The hyena pokemon tried to step forward, but stumbled when its hindlegs collapsed, the Mightyena falling to the mud with a yelp. Quickly, it scrambled back with its forepaws. Now sitting, with its back pressed to the cliff, the pokemon growled defensively.

Michael frowned in concern. He could see the fear and pain in the Mightyena's eyes. It clearly wasn't in any condition to move quickly, and it may be too scared to accept his help. He looked down at the Mightyena's paws as he slowly approached, not meeting the pokemon's eyes. He kept his flashlight pointed at the ground as well, so the Mightyena could see him easily.

"I want to help you, Mightyena, if you'll let me." The ranger kept his voice calm, even as he neared the snarling pokemon. "We're in danger; we can't stay here." Normally, he wouldn't approach an injured pokemon like this; even a badly hurt evolved pokemon was potentially deadly. He or Pythia would talk to them from a distance, give them space, let them calm down. But they simply didn't have time.

"If you can walk, you need to leave here." Michael crouched, just a couple meters from the still growling pokemon. He wanted to examine the Mightyena's injuries, but, with how defensive the pokemon was being, he was afraid it would assume he was looking for a weakness. "If you can't, I can take you someplace safe, get you healed up and fed."

Michael looked up to briefly meet the Mightyena's red eyes. The pokemon's growling softened, and the ranger could see uncertainty in its expression.

"Absol!"

The ranger turned his head, as lightning flashed and thunder clapped, seeing his partner a dozen meters away, looking frightened.

"We're out of time." Michael said to the Mightyena as he unclipped a pokeball from his belt. He expanded it, and held it out towards the Mightyena, meeting the pokemon's eyes. "Please, trust me."

The Mightyena glanced between the ranger's face and the pokeball, its growl turned to a scared whine. It took one last long look into Michael's blue eyes, before leaning forward and touching the pokeball with its pink nose.

With a flash, the Mightyena vanished. Michael shrank the ball and hooked it to his belt, as he rose to his feet. Turning to his Absol, he started running.

"Lead the way." He called to his anxious looking partner.

"Sol!" She cried, leading him at an angle down the slope, south and east, away from the unstable cliff and the path of the likely mud flow.

Michael gasped as he climbed the hill. Behind him he could hear the earth rumble, drowning out even the thunder. He could feel the vibrations up his boots as the ground trembled. Below him, a flood of rock, mud, and uprooted trees flowed in a torrent. He was streaked with mud, battered and bruised, having stumbled and fallen several times during the mad run through the dark. The rain still fell.

Pythia was a bit below him, ruby eyes watching her partner scramble up the wet and muddy slope, ready to intervene if he should slip and start to fall.

Michael collapsed at the top of the hill, panting. He peered into the dark, down the slope, but could see nothing. The rumbling was lessening, so he assumed the landslide was reaching its culmination. He looked up at his partner standing next to him, his light pointed at her chest to not dazzle her. The Absol's normally fluffy white fur lied plastered to her body. Her legs and underbelly were stained by mud and clay. Her dark blue muzzle wore a worried expression, as Michael met her ruby gaze.

"I'm alright, love." Michael reassured, reaching up to cup his partner's cheek. He felt the warmth of her body against his cold hands, as she leaned into his touch. "Did you run into any trainers out here?"

"Ab." She said, shaking her head.

"Just wild pokemon then. Did they heed your warnings?" The ranger asked, grimacing as a pained expression crossed Pythia's face.

"Sol absol ab." She said, looking away. Michael got to his knees and put an arm around his partner's neck, pulling her into a hug.

"You can't force people or pokemon to listen to you." Michael reminded her. "At least most of them listened. You did all you could."

"Absol." She said bitterly.

"Maybe they would have listened to me, true. But maybe not." Michael said softly. "It is a moot point though. I couldn't have gotten to them, to warn them in the first place. Or known that they were in danger at all." Michael gave her a tight squeeze, before rising to his feet.

"Come on. Let's get down the other side of this hill before we get struck by lightning." Michael half joked. "Your precognition isn't flawless after all."

By the time Michael had finished setting up camp, the storm had finally passed. He had already called in the landslide. At first light, search and rescue teams of trainers and pokemon would leave Veilstone City, to comb over the aftermath. A human would stand next to no chance being caught in a mud flow, but pokemon could be incredibly durable. Pythia would play a critical role in searching for any survivors, They would be there themselves now, if it weren't far to treacherous in the dark, or without the support of ground or rock types to stabilize the terrain.

That knowledge didn't stop Pythia from brooding. The Absol was lying in the wet grass, looking out into the darkness in the direction of the landslide. Michael sat down next to her. She'd done her best to rub the mud from her fur in the grass but she was still filthy. He pet her head, running his hand through her damp fur.

"It'll be alright, love." He comforted. "One more thing to do, then we can get some sleep. We'll break camp at first light." He bent down and kissed the top of her head, not minding her dirty fur.

Michael unclipped the Mightyena's pokeball from his belt and considered it for a moment. Mightyenas were pack pokemon, it was unusual to find one alone. Sighing to himself, he expanded the pokeball.

"Come on out, Mightyena." The ranger tossed the ball, and in a flash of white light, a battered Mightyena formed. The hyena pokemon looked anxiously toward Pythia; his ears folded back and he lowered himself with a submissive whine.

"Hey there, Mightyena. No need to be scared." Michael said, as he moved to crouch next to Mightyena. "No one is going to hurt you,"

"Sol." His partner agreed.

"I'm Michael, and that's Pythia." The ranger said, offering his hand. Tentatively, Mightyena leaned forward and brought his pink nose to Michael's hand. "Now, you're really banged up bud. I want to take a look and patch you up a bit. Alright?"

Mightyena looked up at him, then nodded with what Michael took to be an affirmative growl. Gently, the ranger pushed the hyena pokemon to lie on his side. Finally, Michael could get a close look at him. Even through his thick fur, the ranger could make out Mightyena's ribs. He hadn't been eating well for a long while. There weren't any obvious injuries on his front. The damage was concentrated on his back legs and hindquarters.

"Love, bring me a few bottles of water and my medic bag." Michael asked. Mightyena's rear was a mess of caked mud and rust red dried blood. "I'm going to get this cleaned and disinfected before applying a potion." He addressed Mightyena, patting his flank reassuringly.

Michael got to work, gently washing away the filth and revealing a dozen or more deep bite and crunch wounds. The ranger frowned as a picture of events formed in his mind. There were no defensive or offensive wounds, and bites consistent with a long muzzle, like a Houndoom, but no burns.

The ranger kept his peace, as he applied a potion to the cleaned wounds. Now wasn't the time to interrogate Mightyena, but if his suspicions were correct, releasing the hyena pokemon back into the wild wouldn't be straight forward.

He brought Mightyena water to drink and an oran berry to eat.

"I'd give you more to eat, but with as starved as you are, I don't want to give you too much." Michael explained, as he sat next to Mightyena. "Tomorrow, Pythia and I will be busy all day digging out any survivors. Staff from the pokemon center will be setting up an aid station, I'll leave you with them."

At that, Mightyena let out a sorrowful whine and looked up at Michael, fear and dread filling his yellow and red eyes.

"Easy." Michael said softly, rubbing the black fur on top of Mightyena's head. "Nurse Joy and Chansey will take good care of you, and Pythia and I won't be far away."

Mightyena still looked anxious, but at least he was partially mollified.

"We need to get some sleep and it will be best if you rest in the pokeball. Okay?" At Mightyena's reluctant nod, Michael returned him.

"Let's get to bed, love. It is going to be a long day, on little sleep, as is." He said, rising to his feet and addressing his partner.

Michael opened up his bivy tent, and sat to take off his muddy boots. It was a tiny one person tent, that could only fit two if you didn't mind being very intimate. Pythia hesitated at the entrance, looking down at her damp and dirty fur.

"Don't worry about making a mess, love." Michael reassured her. "We're going to need to spend a few days in Veilstone after this, and I'll have time to get everything clean."

"Absol." She countered.

"And then you'd be up all night brooding. No, you aren't staying out here." Michael told her. She bumped her head against his affectionately as she walked by him into the tiny tent.

The ranger stripped off his wet clothes, stuffing everything into a bag. He'd been soaked through during the storm, despite his water repellent outer layer. Naked, he crawled into the tent after his partner.

He paused at what he saw. Pythia was lying splayed out on her back, her hindlegs spread and her forepaws curled cutely over her chest. The long white fur on her head hung damply, partially obscuring her ruby eyes, as he beheld her. His gaze traveled down her form. The tuft of thick long fur, covering her powerful barrel chest, was stained, from its pure white, by dirt and clay.

Her form narrowed in a sweeping curve to her taut belly, twin rows of dark blue nipples peaking through damp fur. She widened abruptly past her slender waist, at her broad hips. Her spread thighs formed an inviting dish of luscious fur, and nestled in that dish were the dark blue triangular folds of her sweet sex.

Michael could feel himself harden, as he drank her in. Her blue cheeks darkened as she flushed at the sight of his stiffening member. She was a bedraggled mess. She was the most beautiful thing the ranger had ever seen.

"You aren't normally this forward, when you're out of heat, love." Michael said, taking a moment to grab a small bottle of lube from his pack.

"Absol." She said softly.

"Yeah, today was hard, and tomorrow won't be easier." Michael agreed, crawling between her legs. "You aren't the only one who needs to lose yourself, at least for a little while."

He brushed the damp fur hanging over her face aside, fully revealing ruby eyes full of longing and a desperate need to be consumed by a lover's embrace. He brought his face to hers and his mouth met her short muzzle. His lips pressed to her thin black ones; he felt her short fur against his skin. Her warm breath washed over his face. His tongue met her rough one, twining and swirling around eachother.

"You're beautiful." Michael said, breaking the kiss and looking into her eyes. "And you care, maybe more than you should." He cupped her cheek, holding her gaze. "But know, no matter how much the darkness of the world weighs on you, I love you, and always will."

He brought his lips to hers again, letting his weight rest on top of her. He put a hand behind her head, pulling her into the kiss. His other hand reached under her back, pulling his body against hers. Pythia's paws came over his shoulders, and he felt her rough pads, and the light prick of her claws, on his back. The underside of his throbbing shaft ground against the hot lips of her trembling vulva.

He closed his eyes and concentrated on the feel of her. Pythia's fur was damp but warm against his skin. He felt the rise and fall of her chest against his own, and the beating of her heart. She smelled of wet fur and earth, a heavy musty scent, that he didn't object to at all.

Maintaining their kiss, Michael took his hand from behind her head and blindly fumbled with the bottle of lube. Getting some on his hand, he rolled to his side slightly and brought his hand between Pythia's hindlegs. He smeared lube across her folds, then dipped two fingers into her sex. She arched her back, as her wet heat surrounded his digits. She growled into his mouth, and moved a paw to the back of his head, pulling him to her hungrily.

He slowly pumped his fingers in and out of her, enjoying how she responded to his ministrations. He felt her inner walls clench and squeeze around his digits. Out of heat, she was tight, and it had been a while since they'd last shared an intimate moment together.

He pulled his fingers from her depths, and took hold of his aching manhood. He broke their kiss, so he could watch her expression. He felt his tip touch her warm glistening folds, and pushed his blunt head against her slit, feeling warmth envelope sensitive flesh as he entered her vulva. She held his gaze until he pushed into her vagina, closing her eyes and parting her lips as she quietly gasped. Her tight walls stretched to accommodate him. He closed his own eyes with a groan, as heat and pressure engulfed his length. He pushed, until he was entirely inside her. He held still, feeling her inner walls contract around him.

He opened his blue eyes to meet hers once more. Her pink tongue lolled from her dark blue muzzle, as she panted. He thought she looked so sweet; he leaned forward and gave her a peck on the tip of her black nose. She pulled her tongue back into her mouth, and gave him a look of mild indignation, as he smiled at her innocently. With a growl, she pulled him into a fierce kiss.

As they kissed, he rocked back his hips, feeling the wet heat of her sex replaced by the cool night air. When just his head was still surrounded by her warm folds, he smoothly thrust back inside. He began a slow rhythm, pausing at the culmination of each thrust, to bask in the delight of her depths. But, as tthe ache in his loins grew, his pace quickened.

Breathing heavily, Pythia broke their kiss. She raised her head and buried his face into the fur of her neck. She hugged him tightly to her, kicking her hind legs weakly in the air as she vainly tried to buck her hips against him.

"Sol absol." She whined.

Obliging, Michael redoubled his efforts. He pounded into her as hard and fast as his athletic physique would allow, knowing his partner, far stronger and tougher than him, could handle him easily. He felt his orgasm nearing, when Pythia's grip on him tightened, her walls clamped around him, and she arched her back. With a keening whine she came.

The grip of her inner walls around him was painful. The paw on his back, hugging him to her chest, forced the breath from his lungs. Her shudders against him sent reverberations through his body. The feel of his lovers powerful climax pushed him to his own euphoria. His cock throbbed; her walls hungrily milked every last drop of seed from his length.

Her grip on him eased, as she rolled to her side, but she still held him to her. Michael closed his eyes as he breathed into the fur of her neck, her chin resting against the top of his head. With arms and forelegs wrapped around eachother, they allowed the bliss of their after glows to carry them to sleep, the worries of their lives forgotten, if only for the moment.
