The halls of the centre had been cleared as Alex was escorted along meaning he didn't see anyone and no one saw him. It was no surprise, pregnancy was rude in public but also his presence and the fact that Dredger was carrying his calf could not be exposed.

As he slipped out of his thoughts they entered an office down the end of a long hall. It was small with a desk opposite the door. Waiting inside, floating patiently in the water was Dredger looking noticeably more swollen. His belly was domed out showing proof of his pregnancy and Alex's first thought was he looked more attractive for it. He was in his tatty suit as usual but otherwise looked no worse for wear despite the fact the suit looked a lot tighter than it once did, almost uncomfortably so given his calf curve.

“Dredger," Alex called out softly getting the Phins attention, his head snapping around and eyes widening and once the door closed the human rushed forward to embrace the Amplus tightly, face pressing to his broad chest and Dredger nuzzled at his hair.

“Alex? What are you doing here?" Dredger asked pulling away “Are... are you the reason I was pulled in here so suddenly?" he or rather she, then noticed the others and pulled away from Alex in alarm.

“Calm yourself Damaged Dredger," Mauve Eyed Porter asserted calmly “We know everything. We are concerned, however not angry with either you or Alexander Scott Hayworth." he spoke as he moved round to the desk in the office.

“We are here today to talk of our options," the Album finally spoke up once he was situated at the opposite side of the desk “As we see it, you two have two options. Option one, We terminate the pregnancy, you are both incarcerated for an indeterminable length of time on your respective sides of the Gateway and are both permanently black listed from access to the Gateways ever again. Option two, Alexander Scott Hayworth, you accept financial responsibility for the child and its mother and you are both sent to Station Zero till the pregnancy and Damaged Dredgers return to normal is concluded. We shall at that time discuss what is to be done with your child and yourselves."

“I will not leave Dredger," Alex said firmly with little pause and looked to the much larger Amplus “I have found something I want in my life, someone I want. I will not turn away from this future, no matter how hard the challenge is."

“Very well... Damaged Dredger, what do you chose?" the Album asked “Take your time, think carefully, this will effect the rest of your lives, either together or apart" Dredger took a deep breath and looked down at the human next to her before answering, one hand on her calf curve.

“I want my child," she countered fingers pressing a little into her belly “And I want Alex to be part of its life, I will go to Station Zero, what ever or where ever that is, if it means that that is possible. Besides... they have become my world, without them, I have nothing... prison would not be a punishment to me, not having them would be."

“That makes some things easier," the Album says and a stack of pads are then produced and placed on the table by one of the lawers “Damaged Dredger, please sign these. These are non-disclosure agreements, you are not permitted to disclose your pregnancy, where you will be living, or the biological origins of your child." Dredger looked to Alex who smiled reassuringly and nodded.

Dredger did what she needed to, signing the forms with her biological Phin name which Alex couldn't read. He guided her through all of the forms including the ones about being relocated to Station Zero.

“Alexander Scott Hayworth," Mauve Eyed Porter spoke up drawing the humans attention once the forms were completed and the lawers were checking them over “We will permit you to contact your family to inform them of the changes to your travel plans. Maybe you can find some way to convince them to permit you to remain. However that is of no concern of mine, that is for you to arrange."

“I will come up with something," Alex responded and looked to the Amplus next to him and smiled “I am not going to go back now."

“We must go prepare everything for the trip to Station Zero," The Album informed them and a new wetsuit was placed on the table “You two will remain here until we are ready. Use it as a chance to get reacquainted and for Damaged Dredger to change into this Female suit, that one is clearly inappropriate for her condition." the other Phins left after that, leaving Dredger and Alex alone together.

They wasted little time, embracing tightly and Alex peppered Dredgers neck and beak with kisses while Dredger returned the affection with nuzzles and soft churrs. When they separated, it was merely a step backwards and Alex's hands moved down to the Phins belly.

“So... you really are pregnant aren't you?" he asked and Dredger nodded as the humans hands groped over her belly “And it is definitely mine isn't it?" the Amplus gave a barking laugh and nodded once again.

“Definitely and I am proud of that fact," she answered confidently but the smile was soon fading “Alex... I have missed you... I had hoped you would come back but when I was sent here I nearly lost hope that I would ever see you again."

“You stayed strong for me," Alex said with a smile and Dredger blushed light but gave a soft nod “I'm Proud of you and I missed you too, I wanted nothing more than to hold you in my arms... have they treated you well here?"

“They have, my reputation did follow me again as it always does but I have been treated fairly. It was hard at first not being able to drink." She admitted.

Alex smiled “I will admit, being pregnant is one hell of a detox method." They both chuckled at that point.

“I can't wait to get that suit off of you and see how much you have changed beneath it," Alex mused with another smile as he eyed the Amplus's swell “We should get you changed, this one looks more than a little too tight." He reached up and started to undo the zip lowering it down slowly.

Dredger gave a soft huff as it went down blushing as more and more of her body was exposed. The swell of her belly exposed to the world as the suit seemed to almost snap back and Alex realised that she was sucking in some of the swell just to fit into it. Alex just continued his smile even when Dredger started blushing and squirming uncomfortably at being exposed.

“We have time and I know you don't have the same equipment as before," he returned looking up over that swollen dome “That doesn't bother me, you are still you, that is all that counts to me. Now stay still and spread your legs a little." Dredger did as told giving a pleasured whistle as Alex had wasted little time. Before she could even say something Alex spoke up again “Right now is all about you, besides, we will have plenty of time and more privacy later to deal with me. Now come on, lets get you dressed before they return."

They managed to get the pregnant Phin dressed, the suit appearing to be made for a large Longos and not a slightly undersized Amplus meaning it was loose around the belly but snug everywhere else. They embraced in a tight hug once it was on before the door opened again. Mauve eyed Porter stepped in and eyed the two who, while looking back at him, didn't want to separate from their loving embrace.

“We are ready, come with me." Mauve Eyed Porter said before turning and heading down the hall towards the docking bay. They followed as quickly as they could manage, Alex being a little slower than the two smooth Phins. Once on board the Skiff they found it was empty other than Mauve Eyed Porter and themselves, the others having departed separately apparently.

This gave the two perfect opportunity to sit together, pressed side to side for the trip with Porter sitting a few seats behind them. The fact the skiff was designed to carry up to twenty five and only carried three gave an oppressive and isolated feel to the environment, however it did little to disturb the two lovers.

As they travelled, Dredger told Alex everything that had happened after he had gone back to Land Earth. She explained the problems she had gone through when she had her withdrawals, then coupled with the morning sickness it had been easy to pair the two together. However when she went to see the doctor, she had been corrected on her assumption.

The hardest thing for her had been being sent off after the discovery of her pregnancy. Sent away from the one place she knew she thought she would stand a chance to see Alex again. Sent to a place that almost every Phin didn't want to go. It had nearly broken her but she did as Alex had told her to, continue on, if not for herself then for Alex and now, her child.

Her time at the centre had been hard, she spent most of her time in her room as the others had been harsher to her than anyone else she had encountered. She was thrown cutting insults of not deserving a child, that the father was clearly too disgraced to have impregnated her to want to be known and not being wanted around in case she caused an accident were painful. So as a result, she remained in her room whenever she could and tried to ignore them when she wasn't able to stay sequestered away.

When she finished Alex exclaimed he was proud of her, proud that she had experienced so much pain and heart ache alone yet had kept going. He didn't tell her what he had researched back on Land Earth, instead opting to just tell her he had spent the whole time thinking of her while he worked his dull job for his parents and continued to attempt to find ways of returning.

It was a few hours till the massive structure loomed into view and Alex was awed at its size. All Phins knew this place existed but it was avoided mostly as it was in Tikk territory. Built off of a rocky outcropping of sea bed, the facility was a Phin made Island the size of Madagascar. Security was tight and it took several minutes before they were cleared to dock and were escorted to their spot.

“This is station Zero?" Dredger asked as the skiff stopped “But this is Tikk territory, they are against the Unity Program and Phin interaction with humans."

“Tikk? Who are the Tikk?" Alex asked confused.

“You will both be educated on this matter later," Mauve Eyes Porter instructed cutting off any further discussion “For now, you will be escorted to your room so you can settle in. Tomorrow you will be taken to have an examination of your condition then enrolled in some lessons on Station Zero and what will be expected of you regarding the birth and raising of your child."

“Will I be permitted or even able to contact my family from here?" Alex asked and Mauve eyed Porter nodded.

“Yes, however your correspondences will be monitored and edited if necessary. Remember you signed multiple non-disclosure agreements, so no information about your current location, relationship status or the fact Damaged Dredger is having your child may be discussed with anyone not on this station." came the long winded yet to the point reply.

“I will come up with something," Alex said looking to Dredger, meeting her eyes “For us." the door to the Skiff opened and a Longos was waiting patiently for them just outside.

“This is where I leave you Alexander Scott Hayworth and Damaged Dredger." Mauve Eyed Porter said simply drawing their attention once more “Striped Finder will escort you from here. May the tide be with you, Alexander Scott Hayworth and Damaged Dredger." They nodded and got up slowly, stepping out of the craft which quickly closed up and departed.

“This way." the Longos asserted simply then turned and started walking. They followed after him till they got to the water filled halls where he dropped down and Alex was a little confused as there was no way he could keep up with them while swimming.

“See that Dorsal?" Dredger said gesturing to her back “It's a natural handhold, Alex, hold on and enjoy the ride."

“You... you will be ok pulling me along?" he asked making Dredger roll her eyes with a few clicks of irritation.

“I'm Pregnant, not crippled," she retorted before laying into the water “Grab on."

“But you do have those back injuries," Alex reminded her and the Amplus just shook her head.

“I will be ok, just grab on." She retorted and Alex complied grabbing on with both hands but stayed to one side. The Amplus gave a happy chirp and the pair of Phins started swimming. Alex was awed by the speed and ease that Dredger carried him, the Amplus clearly being slower than she normally would be letting the Longos stay ahead of them.

They travelled a reasonable distance, passing other halls and transport shoots as they went. Every now and then Alex would spot Phins or, what he assumed were the Tikk. They looked similar to an Album although were almost entirely white with longer, narrower beaks.

Once they arrived at their destination, the Longos leading them opened the door for them allowing the two to pass him and swim inside. Inside was a bigger living space than Alex was expecting. A reasonable living room combined with a small kitchen, there were two bedrooms on one side and on the other had a toilet room and a Scrubber bathroom.

“This will be your residence until you have been processed and we can grant you access to the general population areas." Striped Finder informed them still standing at the door “I recommend rest, you will need to be up at 6:00 tomorrow morning for your medical check up and then your lessons will begin shortly after that is concluded. We will also measure Damaged Dredger for a more accurately fitting suit during the examinations. Alexander Scott Hayworth, there is a tablet on the table for you to use to compose a correspondence for your parents. Remember your non-disclosure agreements when composing it, we will be checking it before it is sent as per the agreements. There is food already in the refrigerator for you so you do not need to leave in order to find any. We will re-supply you if need be tomorrow, we were uncertain how much the Amplus would require."

“Thank you Striped Finder for the escort and for apprising us of tomorrows schedule." Alex responded and the Phin just gave a curt nod before exiting, closing the door behind him leaving the two alone once more. They waded further into the room, exploring a little now that they were alone.

It was certainly more spacious than Dredger was used to and she felt a strange freedom she hadn't had in the past. The water was shallower than she had expected but seeing as Alex was living in the shared space, she should probably have expected it. She was too wrapped in looking around to notice Alex had stepped up behind her till she felt his hands undoing her wetsuit and she squeaked in alarm and jumped away.

“Stop, stay calm love," Alex placated her, surprising both of them with how easily he used the word 'love' when addressing her. He stepped back up to her and started to undo the suit once more “We are alone, we are together, there is no need to be ashamed of your body regardless of custom. I know this is restrictive to wear, it may be one for female Phins but even I can see it isn't a perfect fit for you. So don't be afraid to take it off around me." She blushed and nodded letting him take it off of her.

“You know that goes both ways right?" She asked and turned to start removing Alex's own suit “We will need to see if we can get you something... less concealing in case we have visitors in the future. You look better while wearing less."

“Just as you do out of yours, however I can't be out of it all the time Dredger, you know humans don't react well to constantly being in salt water." he retorted with a chuckle as he finally got the Phins suit off letting her focus on getting his off.

“I know, but for as much as possible, if I am nude, I want you nude." she told him, a hand going to the humans shaft once he was nude down to the hips “Besides, we need to deal with this remember?" The human chuckled and nodded.

“How about we head to the bedroom?" Alex asked with a smile his own hand resting on the Amplus's belly which had started to flush with colour “I know you aren't quite stated yet, how about we fix that?"

“You don't know how long I have wanted to hear that," she answered with a churr and picked Alex up with relative ease, his wetsuit falling off of him into the water as she carried him to the bedroom.

The bedroom was decent sized, an elevated section above water level for the humans bed while Dredger had her own just bellow it in the water. The elevation wasn't much and while it would separate them for most nights, it was a comfortable enough distance that they wouldn't feel alone and it wouldn't separate them every night.

Right now however, Dredger sat her lover down on her own bed platform and gave his shaft a firm grope before getting on the bed next to him, putting her top half on the elevated shelf and knees on the bed, she spread her legs a little and lifted her tail exposing herself.

When the door opened Alex had just slipped into suit and was assisting Dredger with hers. The Longos stepping in through the now open door. He seemed oddly undisturbed by the fact the Amplus was nude except the wetsuit around her legs, calf curve on full display.

“Leave it off," He instructed simply “You will need to remove it for the examination and measurements anyway and I can see clearly that it is far too tight for you. It is time for your medical examination, please follow me."

“Do I need to remain here?" Alex asked as the Longos had turned to leave.

“No, Alexander Scott Hayworth, as you are the father you are welcome to be in the room." he said simply. Alex nodded and helped Dredger pull off the suit before they left the room, lowering into the water, Alex grabbed hold of Dredgers dorsal before they took off.

It was a short trip, the medical room not to far away and they were made to wait patiently inside. When the door opened, two Album walked in looking at data pads.

“You must be Damaged Dredger." one announced seeing Dredger waiting patiently next to the table. He was the taller of the two with more pronounced spots while the other had lighter skin “And you Alexander Scott Hayworth. Good, we apologize for being late we had another appointment that went slightly longer than expected. You may call me Mottled Surgeon and my associate Flecked Healer."

“Greetings, just call me Alex," Alex said with a nod and friendly smile.

“And myself Dredger, please." the Amplus requested and they simply clicked in acknowledgement and edited something on their pads.

“Very well, your human name Shall be Dredger from here on, on the table please on your back, fin in the slot." Dredger did as asked, laying onto the table on her back, she placed a hand on her belly feeling very self conscious of the swell.

The conversation then picked up in Phin. Alex had been given a crash course in the language by a language instructor however he was barely able to keep up. He understood when they told dredger she would be ok and then asked about the suit not fitting and something about having a growth spurt now the suit was being replaced, after that it was just too much. When finally a question was posed to him, he remained silent and simply blinked back at them.

“I'm sorry," Alex said sheepishly “I do understand Phin but not a lot, I apologize but I missed almost all of that."

“Very well, we will change to English for now," Flecked Healer said “I suggest you learn quickly while here, We asked you if you had had a relationship with any other Phins"

“Oh, no, I have not." Alex answered honestly “My first and only relationship so far has been with Dredger."

“Thank you... Dredger, have your mammaries begun swelling? Experienced any tenderness or sensitivity?" The Album inquired.

“No swelling yet but have fully formed and can confirm they are sensitive." Came the embarrassed response and Alex stepped forward.

“Are all of these questions really necessary? They are kind of personal aren't they?" he asked and both Doctors looked to him.

“This is just standard procedure Alexander Scott Hayworth," Mottled Surgeon answered rigidly “We need to ascertain her complete bodily condition before we can begin to assist her with her pregnancy. We do not mean to embarrass her or make her uncomfortable however we must ask."

“Alex," Dredger called out softly drawing the humans attention “I am ok." was all he said making Alex huff and nod.

“We shall continue," Flecked Healer said and Mottled Surgeon returned to measuring the large Amplus “You are shorter than most Amplus, why is that?"

“I was involved in the Horizon Deep accident," Dredger answered simply and the two Album clicked in surprise and alarm “I have four fused vertebrae and two removed, this resulted in my loss of height by almost five inches." It was Alex's turn to express alarm. He had forgotten that the Amplus was missing vertebrae, for humans it just wasn't something that was possible.

“And no," Alex spoke up getting their attention before going on almost coldly “We will not discuss that subject unless it is important to her health. However I wish to ask, how did she have vertebrae removed? Isn't that impossible?" the two doctors had not expected such a turn from the human.

“U...Understood" came the simple response from Flecked healer who quickly collected himself “Moving on to answer your question, we have some medical techniques that are unfamiliar to humans as well as distinct differences in anatomy that make it possible depending on the location. We will need to examine your back later however. Is there any history of complications during pregnancy?"

“My mother did not revert after I weaned... she had that corrected, other than that no." Dredger answered calmly.

“Are there any reasons you can think of why this pregnancy took?" Flecked healer asked “Any trauma, internal injuries or the like you can think of?"

“There was a tiff I was involved in a few days before Alex and I met," she started “I was given a drinking challenge by two Album one night, I lost, then spent the next few hours... pleasuring them with my beak."

“Anything else?" the Album asked again as Mottled surgeon leaned close and started to use his echolocation to probe the Amplus's belly.

“I was quite drunk so details are a little wavy... but they may or may not have used a Diving Rod in me," Dredger said blushing and The two Doctors looked at each other in alarm “The ones at B72 are quite well used I will add... I can remember the discomfort caused but not much else."

“Is it possible?" Flecked Healer asked.

“It took us over twenty years to perfect that technique... these two managed it by accident?" Mottled Surgeon replied in disbelief. They added details to the pads they had but didn't continue any further on the subject.

“Ok, measurements have been taken, your calf is growing well however it is slightly undersized." Mottled surgeon informed them and helped Dredger to sit up then roll over after the table was changed to make account of her belly and he began inspecting her back “Do you experience any discomfort from your back?"

“All of the time, it is usually a dull ache however the more I exert myself or more the day goes on, the worse it gets. Some times it is almost unbearable." She answered and Alex stepped over to gently rub his hand over her melon “I used to deal with it by drinking so much 'Squid Ink' as the humans call it, that everything was just one big wash out."

“We hope you have stopped that practice." Flecked Healer mentioned firmly and Alex nodded.

“The first night we were together she could barely stand she had consumed that much... after that I kept her off of it and have helped her stop" Alex says and then chuckled “Since then, well, pregnancy is one hell of a detox plan."

“I haven't touched a drop since, I even mistook the first signs of my pregnancy as withdrawal symptoms" Dredger said looking up at them “But sadly that just means my back is so painful.. I struggled to pull Alex from the Skiff to our room last night." With this news the hand on her melon stopped rubbing abruptly.

“You told me you would be fine! I could have asked Striped Finder to pull me!" Alex exclaimed irritably.

“I didn't want you to worry or to seem weak in front of you or Striped Finder." she protested but Alex wasn't placated.

“And last night when you carried me to the bedroom! Have you always been doing this? Over exerting yourself when you shouldn't!?" he asked, his hand staying motionless on her melon but his fingers were tightening a little. The two Album had wanted to stop them but were intrigued by the answer to this question themselves.

“How else do you think I kept my job at B72?" she asked as a reply and Alex groaned in annoyance and gave her a slap to the melon. It wasn't hard enough to hurt, more like the kind of slap you would playfully give someones shoulder or a dogs snout if they were misbehaving.

“You are so going to get punished when we get back to our room." he grit out, it was at that point that Mottled Surgeon cleared his throat. It was a human action but it got the reaction he wanted, both of them turning to look at him.

“We will prescribe some female safe painkillers, take them with each meal." the Album informed them simply “We also recommend that you spend as much time as is possible laying face down in the water. This will support both your back and stomach."

“Thank you Mottled Surgeon, I apologize that you two had to see that." Alex said blushing deeply.

“It is perfectly alright," Flecked Healer said “We also recommend a back massage at least once a week. Administered by either a medical professional or you, Alex Scott Hayworth, you will be given instruction on how in your lessons later on."

“I believe we are finished for today, Your new suit will be finished and delivered to your room by the end of the day. Until then, regrettably, you will need to do without it." Mottled Surgeon informed them “You should remain here for now, you will be collected for your first lesson and have your medication delivered soon."

“Thank you Mottled Surgeon and you Flecked Healer." Alex said looking down to his Amplus and started gently stroking down her back “We look forward to the next check up."
