A Mizutsune Problem
A very angry Mizutsune gives a very dirty hunter the most intense bath of his life.
2.9k words. Stories from a monster's point of view are so fun to write, especially when that monster has a compulsive desire to clean. This is what the 'Clean' tag is intended for, right?
Minor content warning: there's some maw peril stuff that, for some, may ride the line close to vore. But it's not vore. Trust me on that. Otherwise, the piece is rather lighthearted and wholesome. The accompanying art was done by Pshe over on FA.
Paprika Village had a Mizutsune problem.
The bubble-loving wyvern — named Bubliny by the Elder's daughter — had taken residence in the sprawling waterways just south of the village. The townsfolk had a saying about him — pass through the waterways with mud on your gear, and you'll return in nothing but your skin.
If you're lucky enough to return.
Though ordinarily placid, Bubliny despised filth. Mud, stench, blood, ugliness — anything brazen enough to trespass through his home while offending his eyes or nose would quickly discover his ire. The villagers knew to be careful; they only crossed the waterways in their finest garments after spending hours washing every inch of skin. But travellers — be they merchants, hunters, or wayward explorers — knew not of the danger. And after days or weeks of travelling, grime and odour stuck to them like a hungry Giggi.
The lucky ones would pass by without incident; Bubliny had to sleep sometime.
Mochi was one of the unlucky ones. A fledgling hunter, he received a firm warning from the village Elder about the oversized and overzealous Mizutsune. But overconfident — as many young hunters are — he dared a shortcut back to Paprika Village after his hunt. The muck encasing his boots didn't receive a second glance. His nose had become dull to the stink of Ludroth entrails that seeped from his armour. The red on his hands, now dried and cracking, signalled only a job well done; this hunt was no different to any other bloody hunt.
A certain Mizutsune would soon make it very different.
Bubliny cooed as the moon broke through the clouds. His watery domain glittered in silver. A large bubble refracted moonlight all across his den, and he couldn't help but poke the pretty ball of colour with his snout, popping it on his yellow nose. Content with this parting show of beauty, the Mizutsune huffed and paced to the back of his den, ready to sleep the night away. Wanting to fill his dreams with the floral scents of the surrounding forest, he gave the air one last sniff.
And retched.
Such foulness. The reek overwhelmed his senses. His mind bubbled, fury simmering in the pit of his gut. How dare one so unclean intrude on his domain, polluting the evening's beauty with their mere presence.
His desire for rest ruined, Bubliny gnashed his teeth. He broke the night's silence with an indignant roar before lurching out of his den. He slid across the shallow waterways, swaying his lithe form to propel himself faster than any wyvern could fly; the blight defiling his nose needed to be excised with all due haste.
Though he loathed to do so, he took quick sniffs at the air to pinpoint his prey. His nose twitched in dismay, but the path became clear. He twirled a sharp right, squeezing between mangroves as he glided up a narrow stream. The path forked and snaked, yet his serpentine body navigated it with a graceful rage.
Bubliny soon reached a clearing. The stream widened to a shallow pond, nestled between cherry blossoms in bloom. Pink petals dotted the moonlit surface, swept by the smallest of ripples whenever a new flower fluttered onto the water. The monster paid them no mind, for beauty could not be admired when revulsion lingered. And linger it did, right there, on the far shore. The speck of a human, covered head-to-toe in mud.
The Mizutsune snarled; not only did the human exude stench, but now even its appearance plagued the monster's gaze.
It needed to be cleansed.
The monster shot towards the small human, not caring for subtlety. The splatter of water, rapidly approaching, likely made the human glance over his shoulder. He froze mid-step.
Bubliny quickened his spry motions, seizing on his prey's momentary shock. The distance closed. The filth of the human's gear grew fouler. Mochi spun and scrambled towards the nearby rock face, but Bubliny wouldn't give him any chance to climb to safety. The Mizutsune slid onto the shore. He twirled his slender body and, while averting his eyes from the filth, slammed his tail into the human. Hard.
It met resistance. But with a second slam, Mochi crumbled. The tail struck the ground with a splat, enveloping the human from view.
Bubliny wasn't done. Not even a croak of pain would spur any sympathy, not with the monster foaming with wrath. He swung his tail, battering Mochi over and over. The beating served two purposes — one, punishment, and two, drenching the human in the Mizutsune's hallmark fluid; each wet whack lathered Mochi in a foamy froth of bubbles.
That which is dirty can always be purified, and Bubliny believed in forgiveness. Of course, that forgiveness would follow a well-deserved reckoning in the form of several dozen tail slams, but who could blame the monster? Mochi was utterly filthy, after all.
Once the solid thwacks softened to a soapy splutter, the Mizutsune finally relented. He withdrew his tail and lowered his snout to the bubbly crater. Somewhere in that puddle lay a dirty human in need of a good scrubbing; the cleaning had only just begun.
Bubliny reached in, tightened his claws around the human's puny form, and pulled him from the bubbles.
Mochi gasped for air, coughing and sputtering. He shook his head and opened his eyes, only to whimper as two narrowed sapphires glared down at him. The human should have been grateful, for the foamy mess covered his revolting gear, softening the Mizutsune's ire. But Mochi clearly didn't appreciate that; he squirmed all the same, even though he stood no chance of freeing himself from those clenched talons.
With his other set of talons, Bubliny reached in. The Mizutsune gave the human's desperate pleas no heed as he pressed around his skin, searching for soft leather. Once he found a seam in the armour, he pinched his claws together and tore it off — like plucking a chicken's feathers. He started with Mochi's arms, peeling off the bracers before ripping apart his vest, chunk by chunk, flinging the scrap into the soapy crater. Out of sight.
But not yet out of mind, as the beast's deepening growls oh-so reminded Mochi. Leather may protect against Ludroths, but it was wet paper to a giant Mizutsune; the human could do naught but tremble and whine as the monster unwrapped him, piece by piece. Those razor-sharp claws glided over his bare chest, tracing downwards. Their honed tips circled across his belly, rolled around his waist, squeezed his upper thighs. There, they dug into his leggings, the tips piercing his undergarments.
With a mere tug, Bubliny split them both in half.
The shock of having his most private region forcefully undressed coaxed a sharp gasp from Mochi, louder than his previous protests. The Mizutsune grew curious at the odd reaction. He slid a hooked talon between the human's legs, stroking the newly exposed skin. As it skimmed higher, Mochi writhed in the monster's grip, squeezing his legs together.
“N-no, please, not there!"
More adorable noises. Perhaps there was some beauty to this creature after all. Bubliny needed to hear more. With another talon, he forced Mochi's legs apart. The higher they stroked, the more vigorous the human's squirms.
By the time his talons met resistance — the 'v' of Mochi's legs — the human could only squeak and shiver. Bubliny kept him in his frantic state while he explored further. The best reaction came when he hooked a talon between Mochi's trembling thighs, gliding it up a supple crease on the human's backside. Adding pressure coaxed a delightful yelp. Bubliny cooed in response, nuzzling his wet nose into the human's neck. That seemed to calm the human; his next words were soft and gentle.
“G-good Tama… I'm, uh… sorry for being dirty?"
His squirms softened. Perhaps the human would now submit to the rest of his cleaning. Almost done with the undressing, the Mizutsune reached for his boots. He didn't need to tear these to shreds; a quick wiggle slipped them off, and they sank into the pool of bubbles to join the rest of his soiled gear.
Bubliny pulled the human back to admire his work. No filthy armour in sight. Little skin either, for a layer of bubbles covered Mochi from the neck down. Ruffled hair and wide-eyes — sapphire, like Bubliny's — peeked from the foam. The monster leaned in to preen Mochi's hair. He lathered it with his soapy tongue before flicking it to the side and flattening it.
There. Now the human looked pristine enough to pass through the Mizutsune's domain. With his appearance groomed, Bubliny turned his focus to the next blemish; he nuzzled his nose between Mochi's thighs. He ignored the human's reaction — a loud whine and the tightening of his legs around the monster's snout — and sniffed deep.
And hissed.
The human's potent musk lingered, despite his tail's earlier efforts. The human whimpered as the monster's hiss rose to a snarl, but he needn't have worried; Bubliny intended to rid him of his foul odour — one way or another.
The Mizutsune let saliva pool on his tongue. As he swished it about his maw to foam his drool, Mochi freed his trembling arms. His fingers kept slipping as he pushed against Bubliny's slick snout, still nestled tight between his thighs.
Again, he needn't have bothered; Bubliny knew he couldn't clean the human like this. He pulled his snout back, huffed steam over Mochi's face, and, without warning, lashed his bulky tongue between the human's legs.
Mochi yelped. His thighs squelched together, trying to halt the tongue's advance. They were no match for the powerful muscle, which folded onto itself as it squeezed its way higher, closer to the smell's source. Mochi tried to shove it away, but his fingers sank into the flesh and bubbles, unable to grip. Eventually, Bubliny's nose pressed into the human's lower belly; his tongue could glide no further.
Yet the human didn't cease his squirms. He swung his arms against the Mizutsune's snout as though trying to beat the monster away. A pathetic effort, but a nuisance all the same. Bubliny locked eyes with the struggling creature and growled. Steam rose from his nostrils, wafting over the human's frightened face.
“B-but, but that's my—"
Bubliny growled again. The human would get the message soon. At least, he'd better, for his own sake.
He did. Mochi relented with a defeated whine. He gripped both sides of Bubliny's snout — not to struggle, but to brace. Pleased, Bubliny curled his tongue over the human's backside. He squeezed the foamy muscle between the crevice and started scrubbing. Mochi shuddered and yelped, but other than clenching his fingers, he made no further attempt to resist.
Two scents mingled — one from the front, one from the back — and the monster needed to focus on them equally. He alternated the pressure of his tongue as he scrubbed the problem regions. Despite the offensive odour, he found the taste rather agreeable; he cooed as flavour spread through his tongue. His licks grew faster, honing in on each source. The human's adorable reactions — twitches, gasps, and even a new sound, one like Bubliny's own coos — only added to his tongue's eagerness.
Soon, Bubliny and Mochi exchanged constant coos and cries. The human must have finally understood that Bubliny was doing this for his own good, as he now assisted with the cleaning; he thrust to the rhythm of Bubliny's tongue, grinding his musky parts against the thick, warm muscle.
Delighted with his prey's cooperation, Bubliny deepened his coos into a reverberant purr that travelled from throat to tongue.
Mochi made a raspy groan as his fingers gripped the ridge of Bubliny's nose. He upped his speed and said, “Please… keep going." He even started to pant.
The poor thing; he was utterly exhausted. Humans really were as delicate as a beautiful blossom. Perhaps Bubliny would be more gentle on the next one. He hurried his licks, not wanting this one to pass out before he finished the cleaning. He circled his tongue tip around the human's backside, prodding the strongest source of his musk — the strongest source of flavour.
The Mizutsune took a deep huff to assess his progress. Curiously, despite scrubbing every inch of the human's crotch, the scent there was as potent as ever. Even stranger, the source seemed to have moved; it now rested firmly on his nose. Bubliny crossed his eyes, trying to pinpoint it, but bubbles and snout blocked his view. Nonetheless, he confirmed its position with several steamy huffs and refocused his tongue's affections, now kneading its thicker midsection back and forth over Mochi's crotch.
The human looked to be on his last legs. His rhythm went unsteady. His noises became hoarse and broken. He lurched and wobbled without end, his thighs quaking as they squished in on Bubliny's tongue.
He took a sharp hiss of air. “I-I'm… I'm…"
No! Don't falter yet, little human. Bubliny had only just pinpointed the source of musk on Mochi's backside. The Mizutsune scooped a string of bubbles rolling down the human's thigh and, with them fizzing on the tip of his tongue, squeezed the muscle between the human's crease, pressed against the source… and thrust.
Mochi squealed as the tongue tip squeezed through the tight opening. Desperate to finish the clean, Bubliny twisted his tongue, inching it deeper, lathering every spot it could reach. The human's body — his thighs, his fingers, his backside — locked up. He let out the sharpest of squeaks, then the deepest of groans.
Bubliny flinched as something wet struck the bridge of his snout. And again, this time closer to his eyes. The only cause could be the human spitting, but a narrowed glance to his face proved that wrong. The human wasn't even looking — he clenched his eyes and writhed in exhaustion. Yet the spurts kept coming.
Bubliny took a deep huff as another flew over his nose. His eyes widened; such an overwhelming musk. Is this how humans work? Do they eject the source of their scent? If so, this human must be almost clean — the force quickly weakened, the frequency slowed. A few drops then trickled onto the tip of Bubliny's nose, before stopping altogether.
His nose twitched as the mess oozed down the front of his snout and drooled onto his tongue. Like Mochi's musk, this had a gentle flavour — a pleasant saltiness quite unbecoming of its dirty stench. Bubliny withdrew his tongue from the human's backside, pulled him away, and lapped his nose and snout clean. With a noisy swallow, he cleared his mouth of both musk and bubble, huffing as saltiness spread down his gullet.
He then turned his attention back to Mochi, who now struggled to keep his head upright. The human still quivered whenever a talon rolled over a thigh, but aside from that, he could offer no more than a meek mumble as Bubliny gave him one last sniff check. The monster poked his snout against all the problem zones — his chest, underarms, crotch, backside, even the soles of his feet — and cooed when only a floral aftertaste filled his nose. Overjoyed to have rid another poor human of their filth, he held Mochi to his neck, purring as he stroked the human's head.
Alas, Bubliny couldn't release Mochi now. He had done the same to other humans, only for them to cross his domain the next day, teeming with renewed stench and grime. Bubliny couldn't have that happen again — not to this precious human.
Perhaps he could spend tomorrow teaching Mochi how to groom himself; he clearly needed a lesson on it. Until then, however, he had to keep the human safe and clean overnight. Safe, clean, and secure.
Luckily for poor Mochi, Bubliny had just the place — the most safe and clean and secure place he knew.
The monster loosened his grip. Mochi fell forward, gasping as he dangled upside down. Bubliny rubbed his nose against Mochi's. And then lurched his jaws wide.
“Whoa, whoa!" Mochi swung himself between Bubliny's fangs. “H-hold on, please! I-I'm clean now, so—"
The tongue splattered against his face. It curled its way around his torso and legs, smearing them in a fresh layer of bubbles before tightening. With his limbs bound and squirms reduced to a wiggle, the coiled tongue withdrew back into the heated maw, Mochi in tow.
Bubliny closed his jaws, sealing the human away. The tiny morsel tested his binds — kicking his legs, jerking his head, writhing his torso. His struggles were little more than a tickle to the monster's tongue. His protests, an inaudible mumble. Satisfied, Bubliny huffed and pulled his tongue to the back of his maw. Mochi would spend the rest of the night there — safe, clean, and completely secure.
Bubliny twirled his lithe body towards the pond. Before leaving for his den, he kicked his legs back to fill the bubbly hole — full of useless leather scraps — with fresh soil. He stamped the ground flat and, when it returned to its former beauty, took off over the silvery pond. His shimmering body carved a curling path through the cherry blossoms. Once he vanished down the far stream, only a rolling wave remained, the last sign of his and Mochi's former presence.
The ripples faded into stillness before too long.
