Chapter 7

Training happened. That was the only way that Ekundayo could think to describe it. It happened, and he participated, and that was the gentlest way to put it. He ended up on the ground more than once, and Muto, to his surprise, proved that he still had the strength to keep up with him in sparring and in muscle training. The hyena had expected more of the owned furred folk to be soft, to have lost their edge from being among humans for so long, but it seemed that wasn't the case.

He slept it off, waking bruised and sore and more than slightly tired, but he had little chance to wake up before he saw something flying at him from the far side of the room. Ekundayo kicked upwards, blocking it and sending it flying towards the ceiling.

It was a pillow, nothing more than a pillow. He panted, the hyena shaking his head as he sat up. Muto chuckled at him, the maned wolf shaking his head from the doorway.

"Looks like some of that training stuck, after all."

"What...what the hell?"

"And you're picking up the words. Better."

"What the hell was that for?! I was barely awake."

"And now you're all the way awake, aren't you?"

"Nnngh...Why are you here?"

"Because training starts now. Come on. Get up."

The hyena groaned, but didn't disobey. Considering how Muto was the one that picked what they did, and that the maned wolf was more than capable of punching his lights out if he didn't go along with it, he didn't feel that it was worth it to fight the whole thing. Maybe later, once he was better trained, once he had the skills to go toe to toe with the maned wolf, but not until then.

And possibly not after, if he was honest with himself. Muto was...He wasn't good, but he was useful, and he didn't want to wreck what little good stuff he had at the moment.

"Come on. Out of bed."

"I'm getting up, I'm getting up."

"Faster."

He grumbled, and this time, the pillow flying his way came too fast for him to block. His attempt to do so sent him flying backwards, instead, hitting the bed with a grumble. The hyena stared up at the ceiling overhead, glaring at it as he debated trying to fall asleep again. The debate was as short-lived as one might have imagined, particularly with his teacher in the room with him.

Muto grabbed him by the ankles, and the debate was settled. He was getting up whether he wanted to or -

"GAH!"

And just like that, he was flying through the air, going through the doorway and almost hitting the wall on the far side. He barely managed to throw himself into a turn, taking it on the shoulder and rolling with it to lessen the impact, and even then he felt sore as he turned to face the maned wolf as he emerged from the bedroom. Muto shook his head.

"Tomorrow, you get one warning before I do that. Day after, you get none; you just better be awake on time and out of bed."

"Why? Why do we have to do it like this?"

"The boss wants you trained for security. That means that you gotta be up and ready at any time of day, and you gotta be ready to get to work without time to wake up."

"Ugh..."

"You gonna complain? I can shove you right back in and tell the boss that you're only good for the sex stuff, if that's the case."

"..."

"That's what I thought. Come on, boy."

Following the maned wolf with a great deal of suppressed growling, he dragged himself through the empty hallways of the big house, and they eventually emerged on the grounds. The sun wasn't even up yet, and he knew that the other Domesticated and those in training weren't going to be awake for at least another hour. He groaned, rubbing his eyes. He was supposed to be the hard one, not the soft one. This wasn't fair.

"Alright. Let's start with some running."

"How many times around the -" He paused to yawn. "How many times around the track?"

"Not like that."

"Huh?"

"You see that ladder over there?" Muto asked, pointing to the wall that surrounded the estate.

Ekundayo cocked his head to the side, but narrowed his eyes. Just between two trees was a ladder, alright, one that led up to the top of the wall and which seemed to lead to a track that went from one part of the wall to another. Of course, there were varying heights up and down along the wall, where little guardhouses were, or outcrops that were meant to stop people from easily breaking in, or waiting stations where guards could relax for a bit during the middle of their shift. It wasn't a straight run, and looked more like -

"Are you making me run an obstacle course?" he asked.

"Right in one, boy."

"Oh, great..."

"What, hyenas can't climb?"

"I'm not a squirrel."

"Better learn. Security-trained Domesticated sell high, but that's because they got a shit-ton of skills, boy. Now, get running. Do it faster than five minutes around the whole wall, and you get a treat."

"..."

"You wanna ask what kind, don't you?"

"Shut up."

"Then get running, boy."

Ekundayo did as he was told, beating feet - quite literally, considering how hard the ground was before he hit the grass - and climbing as fast as he could. The metal rungs stung his toes and his soles, and he gritted his teeth as he pushed himself that much faster. The sooner this was done, the better, and the sooner he could rest his legs.

He reached the top of the wall and followed the stone layers under his feet. A second fence just past the one he stood on projected a layer of iron or steel over the rest of the grounds, keeping others from easily climbing this fence, and he knew by instinct that it would mean that the defenders had more time to react, since anyone sneaking in would have to climb the low fence before getting over the higher wall. It was a good design.

That was all that he took the time to take in before he was running along, throwing himself at the first raised platform on the wall with all the strength he had, and with all the speed that he had hit the track with just a short while ago. He remembered outstripping the different Domesticated that were training themselves then, but he didn't know if that was going to be enough this time. Muto knew what his capabilities were, and if he was going to be limited to five minutes...

How much was five minutes, anyway?

He was in the middle of vaulting up to the raised area when the back of his mind opened up, feeding him the information. He barely managed to keep on his feet as he was informed what five minutes was. Five minutes, three-hundred seconds, and a second was slightly longer than it took for a heart to beat during his resting rate.

That wasn't very long to circle the whole of the estate, but he was sure as hell going to try.

#

The hyena leaped down, not bothering to use the ladder as he returned to it just in case that was something that would screw up the timing. He had sweat running down his forehead, along his chest, right between his legs and along his balls, and right into the crack between his ass-cheeks, as well. He had pushed himself as hard as he possibly could, and he barely managed to stay on his feet as he stuck the landing. The hyena panted hard, shaking his head as he stumbled forward a few steps.

"Mmmph...mmmmph..."

"Not bad, Eku, not bad."

"Ekundayo..."

"Sorry, kid, but the boss calls you Eku, so that's what you're stuck with."

"Nnngh...how long?"

"Hmm..."

The near-naked maned wolf - Muto, of course, had had time to get dressed in a loincloth, though not anymore than that - looked down at some device in his hand. A stopwatch, the part in the back of his mind told him a half-second later, and he gritted his teeth at the information that was coming just a little later than he liked. The maned wolf nodded to himself.

"Four minutes, fifty-nine seconds."

"...Then I..."

"Yep, that's a treat."

Some part of him wanted to feel proud for exceeding the expectations of him, while the rest of him felt...weird. He didn't want to be this happy about doing well for the people that had captured him, but at the same time, it felt like that was the only option open to him. If he didn't do well for them, then they would make him miserable, and he would have to deal with the pain that came from that.

This was just temporary, he told himself. As soon as he found an opening, he was gone.

"So...what is the treat?" he asked.

"Extra meat at lunch. Plenty of it."

"...That's not that great a treat."

"Better than you think, boy. It'll be worth it, that much I promise."

He planned to hold Muto to that. There were few enough good things on this estate, and he didn't want to be cheated out of something that he had almost given himself a heart attack to get. Shaking his head, he followed the maned wolf towards the big house, only to pause part way there.

The walls...

He looked back at them. The ladder was right there, and he'd been up on them just a moment ago. Muto had to know that sort of thing was just begging to be abused; if he had jumped down, and then run for the fence, he might have been able to leave the estate behind right then and there. He might have been able to get away, run off to someone that he might be able to fool into helping him. Or even, well, maybe find the Snatchers.

They can't be that bad...

Ekundayo shivered. Why had he been allowed up there with the obvious security weakness? Why had he been allowed to run the wall when it was well-known to all the other people in the manor that he didn't want to be here? Why did they...

Muto had to know. So...was this a test? Or was the maned wolf just not as good at security as he was pretending to be? What was going on?

There were no answers to be had, and that, more than anything else, pushed him to keep following Muto rather than trying his luck with a run to the wall. Who knew what kind of traps were waiting in that direction?

#

Muto was right. Getting extra meat for lunch was worth it.

"Mmmph...mmm...ah...mmmph..."

The hyena gobbled through what he was told was roast pork, prime rib, and fried chicken, and didn't care in the slightest what it was called. All he knew was that it tasted good, and he could work with that as much as he needed to. He moaned under his breath, panted happily between bites, and savored the feeling of the meat juices running down his throat and restoring his strength. The preparations that they did here was far better than what they had in the tribe, and the meat, while cooked more than they did over the fire, had something to it that made it feel...better.

The maned wolf had probably said what it was, but Ekundayo had been too busy gobbling it down to really pay attention. He didn't actually stop eating until his plate was empty, and even then, it was to stop and get to his feet to get more. He was halfway out of his chair when Muto grabbed him by the plate and the wrist. For the first time since arriving, he bared his teeth.

"Grrrrr..."

"Yes, yes, very scary. Sit down."

"Mmmph...I want more."

"Sit down."

There was just enough annoyance in Muto's tone that he bothered to listen to it. He didn't like having to skip out on more food, but he had the idea that it was probably not going to be a good idea to ignore him this time around. The hyena sat down, looking at his empty place with a feeling of forlorn hunger. His mouth felt empty, and while he had stuffed his stomach nearly to bursting, he was pretty sure that there was room for a few more bites.

Then Muto took the plate away and threw it across the dining room. Ekundayo stared, watching as the pit bull behind the cook-line caught it and put it in a water dish, and then whipped his head around to stare at the maned wolf.

"What...why?!"

"You had your lunch."

"You said I could have extra!"

"That was four times what most of us get, Eku. That's not going to be the standard amount that you get. You gotta earn that every single day."

"But...but..."

"You earn it, and you can have as much as you can carry on your plate, minus what falls to the floor while you're carrying it to the table. You don't earn it, you get what the cook gives you, and no more. Seconds are not a thing here."

"..."

"But it was good, wasn't it?"

"Nnnngh..."

"Admit it."

"...Fuck you, but yes..."

The word was strange to him, but now that he was hearing it so often from the others, now that the collar was giving him an idea of what the word meant and how it felt to say it, the word felt right in his mouth. Still slightly strange, but right. He shook his head, leaning back a bit as he imagined getting just that little bit more. Meat, meat, meat. He hadn't had a proper meal like that for too long, and -

"The boss is looking to teach you something new."

"...What?" Ekundayo blinked. "I thought you were teaching me how to work security."

"I am, but the boss said that he wants to take it further."

"Why?"

"Because someone wants to buy you for that, and he wants you ready. That's all I know, and that's pretty much all I care about, too."

"...So, what is he going to..."

"Weapons."

Ekundayo went stiff and still, his eyes wide as he realized the implications of that. The maned wolf nodded.

"That's right. You're getting trained on how to use the same weapons that humans use. It's not something that most of the Domesticated get to learn, but if you're going to be trained for security, then you need to know how they work, and you need to know how to use them. Hand to hand only gets you so far, boy."

"I...I get to use..."

"Yes."

He still remembered how easily his 'Trainer' had managed to take him down. He remembered the weapons that he had seen and heard in Collared Landing. He remembered all the power that the humans had, and how it gave them such an advantage against him. That type of weapon...it was overpowering, something that meant that even an idiot could take down an experienced warrior.

But what would happen if that same warrior learned how to use that weapon? How much better would that make him? How many more tools would that give him towards getting back home?

Muto grunted as he pushed himself to his feet, stretching his arms over his head. Ekundayo slowly copied him, taking his time to really push those thoughts down for the moment. If he showed it on his face, if he looked like he was planning something, then Muto would see it. The maned wolf might not guess that he was thinking that far ahead, but he would see that he was planning something, and then...well, then he would have to think of something else. Possibly even lose the option to learn about those weapons, too, something that he didn't want to risk. That was his only way of getting something back on the humans, the only way that he could get something back on his 'Trainer.' He wanted to get away, and this was his best shot.

"Come on. Let's head to the target range."

"...Thank you."

"For what?"

"For...this."

"Heh, thank me when you can hit the target."

That was a bit ominous, but he still followed Muto out of the dining hall and down to the grounds again. The sun had risen by now, and while it was a bit bright in the east, that was better than having it straight in their eyes as it might have been from another direction. The gold light played over the training grounds, and the other Domesticated were already running across the track, making their way through their morning exercises. He wondered if he'd be even better than them by the time that all his training was done.

Muto led him over to a different sort of field. The target range, as the maned wolf had called it, was a stretched, long piece of land, ending with a series of man-shaped targets at the end that hung from different lines. They were pulled forward from the top and bottom, keeping any wind from blowing them around. Nobody else stood at the close-end of the range, but there were weapons laid out.

The maned wolf picked up one, handing him what looked like a long rod of metal with a chunk of wood at the end. A rifle, the information in his head told him, and an older version, at that, rather than one of the newer ones. He didn't know what the new ones were supposed to look like, but he took that information and filed it away for later, something that he might use if he ever got his hands on a new one. He did, however, know how to hold it so that the barrel pointed away from him and everyone else, for the moment at the ground.

"What...do I just point it and then..."

The information was in his head, and it was giving him exactly what he needed to know. He pointed the weapon at his target, he pulled the little metal thing, the trigger, and then the bullet would fly. Faster than a bow, faster than anything that he had ever used before, and with much more painful effects when it hit the target, he realized.

Ekundayo had four different moving images of a bullet hitting its target play through his head before it stopped. The sheer deadliness of the weapon that he held was impressed on him, alright, and he almost dropped the weapon as he realized just how easily it did what it did.

"This...this..."

"It's powerful, yeah."

"It would kill my entire tribe...and we would never get close..."

"That's the power of humans."

"That's the power of death."

"That's what they can do. Just one thing, though."

"There's nothing that makes up for that..."

He shook his head, but he still knew that he would have to learn this. If for no other reason that he would need to use one if he ever got free of the grounds. Humans would only listen to force, and that meant that he needed to have something that would force them to listen. They wouldn't take it from being beat down. They needed one of their own tools turned against them.

Gripping the rifle a bit tighter, he started to turn to the range, only for the sound of a throat clearing to get his attention. He paused, looking over his shoulder.

Trainer Brecht was there. The human had approached on silent feet, and the hyena hadn't heard him coming near, either. He stared at the human, trying not to look annoyed, trying not to show much of his feelings.

Particularly the feelings that were starting to creep in from under his tail. Those were things that the Trainer didn't need to know about, particularly when they applied to the human to some degree. He blushed hard, turning his head away and trying to ignore the way that his shaft was trying to rise up, trying to show itself off, trying so many things that he didn't want to think about right then and there.

"Owner," Muto said, slamming a fist against his chest. "What brings you out here?"

"I believed that it would be a good idea to see how our latest candidate for security was taking to his training. I heard that he was doing well with the physical testing, but I haven't heard anything about his aim yet."

"Well, it's his first time shooting. I was about to tell him how it works."

"Does he already know the process?"

"Pretty sure Nina already got that into his collar, yes."

"Then let's see how he does without any further interference. Let me see what his natural instincts are. The beast might yet impress us."

The beast. Ekundayo snarled ever so slightly, hiding it with his head tilted to the side. No matter how much the human stood to gain from him, the disrespect, the reminder of how unequal they actually were, the little rankling poke of who had power and who did not, irked him. He...

He had a gun.

The reminder burned between his fingers as Muto pointed him towards the targets on the far end of the field. He had a gun now, and it was loaded. He could use it, blast the human between the eyes. Would it mean a damn thing? He'd probably be taken down, punished, perhaps sent off somewhere, but that was better than staying here. For all that Muto had explained what had happened, for all that he had been told that it was no different to being a slave to a different tribe, the human just...just...

He took me away from my home.

The hyena's finger curled around the trigger as he aimed down the sights. He imagined the human's face, Brecht's face, on the target.

He took me from my people.

He imagined the head exploding from the bullet that he wanted to put through the Trainer's head. He imagined seeing him falling to the ground, broken from the very 'beast' that he was trying to train.

This is different. They have all the power. They take everything from us, and make us be what they believe is better. There is nothing good here. There is nothing...nothing...

"Eku."

Brecht's voice pushed him further than he knew he could go. With a roar, Ekundayo whipped around, keeping the gun raised, tracking the voice right to the mouth it came from and aiming at it. Muto started to charge forward, but Brecht didn't move, not even when Ekundayo reached for the trigger and -

The collar pierced his neck, needles hitting him from all sides. His hand was paralyzed before it could pull the trigger completely, and he fell backwards. He strained to move, barely managing to fall without getting hurt. He tried to lift the gun, but his arms had gone numb, unable to move, limp as could be. His entire body had gone the same way, his head unable to turn, his mouth unable to close, his tongue flopping out as it couldn't sustain anything any longer. His entire body...everything...useless...

"Owner!" Muto growled. "Why the fuck did you push him?"

"I needed to know how he was feeling about his station. Best to have this out now rather than when he is on display, when he could cause more damage to himself and our reputation."

Ekundayo hissed, the only sound that he could make when he was so paralyzed. He couldn't even clench his mouth shut, not without the chemicals wearing off. The needles were still embedded in his skin, too, forcing him to take more and more of the same dose that had started this whole problem. As the human leaned down, taking the rifle from his grip, he half-expected to see it twisted around, to have the barrel pointed at his face and see a bullet waiting to take his life.

Instead, the human laid it down on the table it had been resting on before. Ekundayo hissed again as the human knelt down by him, wanting to bite, wanting to do any number of things as Brecht reached out and stroked some fur from his forehead, almost like brushing hair out of his eyes.

"I needed to know how much he still hated me."

"He's learning, Owner," Muto said. "He doesn't get it."

"No. He still thinks that this isn't fair. And perhaps it's not. But that doesn't mean that it's not real."

I know it's real! Why do you think I don't want it to be like this?! I'm not a slave! I'm not anything like what...what...

His hissing turned to an unwilling moan as the chemicals going into his neck started to change, feeding him something else, something more potent, something more...

No, no...not...not this...

Ekundayo moaned despite himself as the chemicals ran through his body, flooding him with a sensation of lust again. He could feel his cock throbbing, just as it had done between his soles only two nights ago, and remembered how much he had dribbled then. It continued to rise, dribbling along itself and down to his balls, and some bits of his pre-cum ran past that, too, all the way down his taint to his asshole. He wanted to whimper, to protest, to try and keep it from going down there, but that felt good, and he couldn't deny that in his weakened state.

"Nnngh...mmmph...ah..."

"The collar's moved on to phase two of restraint," the human said. "You should probably take him back to his chambers, and if you are going to see to his...pleasure...then you might as well take care of your own."

"I thought I was in charge of training him, Owner." Muto gritted his teeth. "You told me that you wanted him trained for security. Is that is or that not the case?"

"It is. However, it must be done properly."

"You think I can't handle this?"

"I think that you forget how angry newcomers can be."

Angry? That wasn't even the word. Ekundayo growled deep in his throat, but the sound was completely drowned out by the constant push that came from down below. The pleasure was moving further from his crotch, settling into his balls, and then into his ass. His hole clenched hard, and his insides felt like they were about to go crazy if they didn't get some sort of stimulation down there. He huffed and puffed, his eyes rolling back, and not merely because he was flooded with high-intensity muscle relaxants.

"He will need to be educated further. For now, however, a lack of hope will suffice."

"He didn't try and run earlier, Owner. I tested that."

"Yes, and that means that he understands that he is better off here than wandering in the alleys and other places of the world. However, it doesn't mean that he has given up. He is angry at what I did. And quite honestly, that's allowed. But threatening me is not."

"..."

"Take him to his room, Muto. You may do what you wish there."

"...Yes, Owner."

"And don't look so angry, please. I will explain my thoughts on this later."

I'm here, you know! I can hear you! Ekundayo wanted to shout, but he could not even move. Not even when the maned wolf wrapped his arms around his middle and picked him up. His cock dribbled continuously, running down Muto's chest. Stop this. This isn't fair. This isn't fair!

Regardless of how much he protested, however, there was nothing that could be done. He was carried away, and the longer that he was left under the power of the collar, the more and more turned on his body became. His hole started clenching hard, and the emptiness on the inside was driving him up the wall. Every step was met with a twitch of his cock, begging for the chance to blow its load, or to have something touching it, rubbing it, stroking it. Everything was so sensitive, and he started sweating from head to toe from the sheer pleasure and need that the collar was making him feel.

Even if he could have moved, even if his body was drugged up completely with the muscle relaxants, he wouldn't have been able to do a goddamn thing. He was all but paralyzed with lust as it was, and the rest of the drug cocktail was just icing on the cake.

He was carried through the house, embarrassed and aroused and fed more arousal for being completely exposed like this. Muto's hand rested on his ass cheeks, and that meant that he had himself on display to everyone in front of the maned wolf. There was no getting away from all of that, from all the eyes on him, from all the other Domesticated that were seeing him fall like this.

Not fair...not fair...not fair...

That was the one thought that persisted through all the horny fantasies that were starting to intrude on his mind. The fact that he had been so close, so close to taking out the person that caused all this...

Even that disappeared, reminding him of the pleasure that the human had given him instead. That finger, that cock up his ass, the feeling of being rutted, the feeling of being used as a breeding toy -

Nnngh...mmmph...

His mental moans meant nothing against the onslaught of pleasure that kept coming from the collar, nor against the throbbing between his legs, nor anything else. He was helpless against the punishment.

They reached his room, and Muto laid him down. He fell on his stomach, cock down and throbbing, oozing into the sheets. His tail went up despite his best intentions to keep it down, and he groaned as he felt the maned wolf's fingers rubbing along his ass cheeks and along his hole. His body wanted to have something in there, while his mind shrank away from the possibility of getting rutted again. After what had happened last time, he had no idea what would happen to him if he got fucked like that again. Last time, it had been a human. This time...

I don't want to want this...I want to go home...I want things to be back to normal...

"I don't know what's going through your head, boy, but that..."

I just want it to stop! I want...I want...

"You can't go back home. Not anymore. I don't know what it's gonna take to beat that through your head."

I'm not going to stop trying.

"I wish you could understand. It's only going to get worse if you keep fighting."

I don't care. I don't care...I don't...I...

Ekundayo shivered as a finger slipped past his pucker, trying not to think of where it was going. That mental block lasted as long as it took for that digit to find his prostate, and then the lightning bolts of pleasure started running through him, knocking him down, leaving him whimpering.

"Look, boy. No matter what you do, you're not going to be able to hurt the Owner. He's got all kinds of safeguards, and believe it or not, he's looking out for you. He could have sold you to some shithead that would have just used your ass and nothing else. You take this, you got the chance to do something for other guys like us."

...What?

"You get trained, you take the fucking plunge, and you can take care of other Domesticated around your Owner. Brecht trusts me. I know how he thinks, and I know how to make him take it easy sometimes. You do that, you learn how to work your Owner? You can do the same thing, but if you keep fighting...fuck. I don't even think you can hear me." The maned wolf sighed. "Well...let's get this over with. You ain't gonna think straight until you get a few loads in you."

The End

Summary: Ekundayo continues his training, earns a small burst of happy times with food, and then realizes just how much he still hates his trainer.
