Hello everyone,

The line between monster and man is a thin line, about as thin as good and evil.

Which one is Pliv though? Is he the Blight, is he Plivaous Blightren, or is he both?

Enough with the philosophy though, enjoy the next chapter, and a hunter at work.

Chapter 5

Pliv's POV

My body reformed again on the side of the boat, hanging onto the railing of the deck of

the ship. The cold air from the water chilled me, and the wet clothes only made it worse. The

damp stench hung heavy in the air, and the salty water burned my eyes. But I was here, and was

finishing what they had started.

“Okay, can we pause for a sec?" Asked Righty. “What the hell happened back there?"

“With the pills?" I asked.

“Yeah, those," said Lefty.

“I… Wait hold on, you two are in my head, you know what happened," I said.

“Not about how you know about them! We were talking about what happened to us! You

stopped hearing us," said Lefty. “And, each other. Like, we were…"

“Yeah, we were trying to get to you but you just froze," said Righty. “Like, you weren't

moving at all, we couldn't move the body either. And then things just started hurting."

“Wait, you couldn't do anything?" I asked.

“No… Dude, we couldn't do anything," said Lefty. “We… we really were not okay."

“Are" stammered out Righty. “We are not okay."

I froze in fear before hearing the sound of footsteps come from the deck above. We

looked at each other, deciding to focus on the mission ahead.

I poked my head up above the deck, seeing a guard walking to the rail. He paused at the

railing, giving me a chance to reach up with my tentacles. I grabbed him and pinned him against

the side of the ship, holding him there with the yellow liquid sticking to it.

“Hold on, can we…." Lefty started. My left hand moved onto the side of the boat, my

palm and finger tips sticking to it, holding it there.

“Oh, can we?" I asked. I moved my other hand, still sticking to the side of the boat.

“Okay, how about this?" Asked Righty. We started to slide across the side of the boat in a

similar way we were flying. We slid across the side and up the back of the bridge, landing on top

of the cabin.

The ship was a small fishing vessel with stadium lights on it illuminating the deck and

'fishermen' on the deck. All armed with guns.

“Let's do this quick and quiet," said Righty.

“Can we break something though?" Asked Lefty.

“Maybe, we don't need to clone too much though. We can't keep this operation going.

Besides, whoever's in charge will know this one was hit," I said.

“And drugs are allowed?" Asked both heads.

“I was going to disband that operation too! Besides, they did more than just organ

harvesting and drugs too. We could've gotten the lead on everyone involved in them selling us

off," I said, turning my attention to the bridge. “So, how do we get in there?"

“Door on the side or on the roof?" Asked Righty.

“We need to be stealthy, see if there's something on the roof?" Asked Lefty. I climbed up

and looked on top of the roof, not seeing any kind of access point. On top were just some radio

antennas and a few lights.

A thought crossed my mind, as I climbed up. I was a monster right? A mutated creature

that everyone was scared of? But I was more than that. I was unstoppable after all. The hunter,

looking at its prey.

“I think it's time for a proper show of horror," I said to my heads.

“Ohhhh, I like where this is going," said Lefty.

“I don't disagree, but we need to rush to get the hostages if they spot us," said Righty.

“Take out their radios, find and secure the hostages, disarm the crew. Seems like a basic

plan," I said. I crouched down, opening the control panel, all of it looking very familiar. Six

years studying engineering had its advantages, especially when it came to breaking it. A few

moments later, the radio was broken and not easy to repair; all without a sound.

I slid to the edge of the roof and silently dropped down to the door of the bridge, seeing

the captain asleep in his chair.

“Cocoon and clone him?" Asked Righty.

“Just to get basic information," I said. I approached the sleeping captain, encasing him in

the yellow liquid and trapping him to his chair. A clone quickly popped out of the liquid, turning

to me.

“Where are the captives?" I asked.

“Three decks down, on the bow of the ship," said the clone.

“Bow is the front right?" Asked Righty.

“Yeah, it is," I said.

“Hey, who runs Cardia?" Asked Lefty. “Where are they?"

“Is this really our problem?" Asked Righty.

“We have a lot more in the game now. We need to know," I said. “So, yes. It is."

“We don't really know. All we know them as is 'Dean'," said the clone. “They contact us

on pagers, different numbers each time."

“Great, any history of those numbers?" I asked.

“I got a few here," said the captain. He reached into the yellow liquid, pulling out a pager

from inside. The pager had three numbers recorded, all with different area codes.

“Oh yay… Thanks though. Stay here and keep guard, we got some work to do," I said.

The clone nodded and sat down in a chair next to the cocoon, leaning back.

Great job, I thought as I walked into the stairwell connected to the bridge. The circular

stairway led down into the depths of the ship, the bright lights nearly blinding me. The sound of

creaking moaned through the near empty hallways and the rocking of the boat was noticeable.

“Should've taken out the power box," said Righty.

“Would've alerted them," said Lefty.

“Focus, you two," I said. We reached three decks down, the bottom of the boat, and took

the door leading to the bow. At the end of the hallway were two guards, both armed and standing

by a door.

“So, how should…" started Lefty. I didn't let him finish as I sent some tentacles towards

the guards, reaching them in seconds and pinning them to the walls.

“Easy enough," I said, detaching the tentacles. My footsteps were heavy through the

hallway, my claws scratching against the metal walls as my hand slid across it.

“Eine, meanie, miny, moe," I started to chant. “I'll eat you alive from head to toe." My

mouth opened, tentacles coming out of it as more came from my back, flailing around, sending

the guards into muffled cries for help.

“The hell's going…?" Asked another guard coming from one of the rooms. I slammed

my hand into him, lifting him against the wall. A tentacle came from my hand, encasing him and

pinning him in place. I turned into the room, seeing a number of hostages in dog cages, all of

them wearing hospital gowns and collars.

“Easy now," I said to them, pulling the tentacles back into my mouth. “I'm here to rescue

you all."

“I thought it was just the girl?" Asked Lefty.

“And leave them here? Says the one that's pushed me into doing this the entire time?

Where's your good side?" I asked him. There was a moment of silence before I felt my right arm

moving.

“What do we have here?" Asked Righty, picking up a syringe. Next to it were a series of

microchips, and scanners.

“Don't tell me," I said, taking a scanner. I approached one of the hostages, scanning the

back of their neck, getting a reading from the scanner.

“Damn it," I said. “They'll be tracked easily even if they get help."

“There's another option," said Righty. He formed a ball of the yellow liquid in my hand,

compressing it, making it start to glow brighter. It suddenly exploded, blinding everyone else in

the room with a flash of light, but I was left unaffected. The scanner suddenly stopped working,

going to the blue screen of death before turning to black.

“Huh, didn't think that was in my arsenal," I said.

“Something that happened when we were first formed. It's how the rabbit wasn't able to

call for help," said Righty. “I figured I could try to replicate the effect."

“To be fair, we don't know everything that's in there," said Lefty.

“W-Who are you?" Asked one of the hostages.

“Me?" I asked. “I'm… Well, I don't know myself anymore. Oh, hold on." The tentacles

came from under my clothes, shooting out and wrapping around the locks to the cages, filling the

key holes. The pressure swelled inside, filling and turning the key holes, letting the hostages go

free.

“I'm looking for a younger female, around late teens, early twenties, she was taken today,

ugh, Shara?" I asked.

“They just took her back to the… surgery," said one of the hostages. “Down the hall, on

the left."

“Okay, stay here, I'll be right back. They're still out there," I said. I rushed out the door

and over to the room, finding it locked. I could see through a window in the door that Shara was

tied down to a metal table, and a man in a lab coat was next to her holding a scalpel up to the

light in the room.

“Oh fuck no," I said. I kicked the door in, barging into the room, startling the two. I

extended my left hand, shooting a tentacle from it. I pinned the doctor against the wall, holding

him there as I walked over to Shara.

“W-Who…?" Asked Shara.

“I'm a friend of your mom's," I said. “You were trying to take my order, before having to

get the dishes." A blank look came to her face before lighting up with a sudden realization.

“You!" she cried out. I undid the restraints, lifting her up and cradling her in my arms.

“Don't worry, I'm getting you and the others out of here," I said, carrying her back to the

others. The other rooms were also filled with hostages, all of them freed when I was done

clearing them.

“Stay here," I told them. “It's not completely safe yet."

“W-What are you going to do to us when it is safe?" Asked one of the hostages.

“Get you out of here," I said.

“They have our personal information, they'll know where to find us, and even then if we

go to a hospital or the police for help, they'll have people there waiting for us."

I paused for a moment, trying to think of something. They were right, these monsters had

gotten them before, they can get them again.

“There's only one solution to this," said Righty. “Destroy Cardia."

“And how are we going to keep them safe until then?" Asked Lefty.

“We can't encase them, we're not doing that to innocent people," I said. “...I have an

idea."

“The three card monte trick?" Asked Righty.

“Ohhhhh, I like where this is going," said Lefty.

“Okay, so," I said, turning to the crowd. “There's one way to hide everyone. I can make

clones of anyone. I know it's not a permanent solution but it'll slow them down enough." The

hostages froze, debating it, the look of fear and confusion in their eyes.

“Think about it, I need to finish clearing the ship," I said. I turned to face the door, only

to see a guard raise his gun and fire, hitting me in the chest.

“Really?" I asked, healing instantly from the blast. “How many times have I been shot,

today, alone?" A quick tentacle caught him, pinning him to the wall and disarming him. He tried

to scream out in fear, only to have a tentacle cover his mouth, holding it closed.

“Everyone okay?" I asked.

“Yeah, we're fine," said a hostage. They grabbed the gun that was dropped, ready at the

door.

“Whoa, you um…?" I asked.

“Four tours in the middle east. I know what I'm doing," said the hostage.

“Okay, just keep safe," I said. I hurried off, clearing the rest of the rooms. I headed to the

second deck, opening the door, finding the crew quarters.

“OH FUCK," yelled out one guard, getting up and running into a back room.

“Smartest fucker today," I said. I followed him in, suddenly receiving a knife to the guts

as I entered the room. The back room was some kind of kitchen, with a pan on the stove and the

guy sticking a knife in my guts.

“...Ow," I said sarcastically. The guy let go and ran to the oven as I pulled out the knife,

healing from it like I always do. The guy grabbed the pan from the oven, throwing it at me,

splashing the hot oil onto my skin. It burned, eating into my flesh. It stung like hell.

“Okay, ow," I said, for real. I wiped it away from my face and body as the guy threw a lit

match at me. The flames engulfed me, the heat encasing me, burning me. I batted at the flames,

trying to put them out.

“Shit, fuck, ow, fuck," I said. I ripped my clothes off, throwing the burning heap off to

the side into a trash can. My heads snapped back at the criminal, halfway out the door, and my

naked ass stood there.

“Okay, you're fucked," I said.

“...Fuck it's always the murderous ones that are hot," said the criminal. He ran off, as I

sighed, looking for something to wear. An idea crossed my mind as I spotted a worn down and

slightly ripped leather couch.

My claws slid through the leather, slicing off a piece of it. The yellow liquid washed over

it, transforming it into a leather jacket with a hood. I took a series of metal studs and a few

chains, arranging them to have studs around the cuffs of the sleeves, along the zipper, and on the

shoulder. The chain ran along the bottom of the jacket like a trim. I made a pair of leather

underwear as well, and a pair of shoes.

After grabbing some more fabric from the area around me, I made a pair of denim blue

jeans and a gray tee-shirt. I caught a sight of me in one of the mirrors as I passed by, throwing up

the Rock and Roll hand sign.

“Oh yeah, I can fuck with this," I said.

“Needs arm bracers," said Righty.

“And a collar, with a broken chain! Ohhhh, we can rock so much with this look! I love

it!" Exclaimed Lefty.

“One collar or one for each neck?" I asked, walking forward. I paused for a second,

looking at my tail in the mirror. I extended two tentacles, one on each side of it, and continued

walking.

“One for each. And look at you getting comfortable," said Lefty.

“It's kinda refreshing," said Righty.

“Yeah, it kinda is," I said.

I followed him up the stairs hearing a loud gunshot ring out from above. I rushed up to

the bridge to see the criminal holding a gun to the clone captain with one hand and trying to use

the radio with the other.

“Mayday, mayday," yelled the criminal into the radio. “Does anyone copy?"

“They won't," I said, walking into the room. The criminal stood there, debating on

whether to shoot or not, only to throw the gun to the side.

“Smart move," I said.

“W-What are you?" Asked the criminal.

“I, honestly, don't know anymore," I said, pinning his hands to the wall. I turned to the

clone, nodding, and seeing it melt away in a pool of yellow liquid. The liquid flowed across the

ground, approaching me and absorbing back into my body.

“I hope that's the last of it," said Lefty.

“Yeah, um, we should check on the hostages or…" said Righty. There was another

gunshot ringing out from below the deck. My heart raced as I rushed downstairs, running to the

hostages. I flew down the stairs, getting to the floor, to see a criminal in pain and bleeding on the

ground.

“Fuck," I said.

“He was coming at us and…" said the hostage with a gun.

“Shut it," I said, applying pressure to the wound. “C'mon, stay with me."

“Dude, he's a criminal, that's part of a very fucked up operation," said Lefty.

“I hate to say it, but should he die?" Asked Righty.

“No, there's other ways. C'mon…" I said trying to stop the bleeding. More of the yellow

liquid came from my hands, filling the wound, forcing the bullet out. The liquid slowly flooded

out of the wound as well, leaving it healed.

“H-Holy shit… I… You…" said the criminal.

“I know! You're still going to jail though," I said.

“Yeah, I figured," said the criminal. He passed out suddenly as I turned to the hostages.

“Okay, no more guns," I said, ripping the gun out of the hostage's hands. “Now, I'm

pretty sure it's clear… so, who's up for cloning?"

A large number of them stepped up, and I got to work, with a plan on how to get them

'found' by the authorities
