Hope for the Future
Hey everyone!
Apologies for my absence. I unfortunately don't have the time for all of my hobbies anymore, and writing has mostly been put on the back-burner. While I try to dabble here and there, it's barely enough to produce any content. I'll gladly be sharing what I have when I can, but my interests and motivation take me from story to story, so it may be a while before anything is completed.
But anyway, here's the next chapter for this story! I hope you all enjoy, and thank you for reading! c:
Three days…
Korbin thought glumly to himself as he sauntered down the palace halls on his way to the kitchens. Only three more days remained before Rein would depart to his home in Rrodan with his family. The festivities would be over, and so would Korbin’s joy. As if he had suddenly matured over the course of a few days, the weight of his responsibilities, both present and future, were crushing him. The realization that he could no longer live care-free was devastating to the young drake!
The king was intent on mentoring Korbin himself now that his son was old enough—or perhaps he felt that the prince’s tutors were inadequate. Either way, Korbin was reluctant to spend time with his father. The king had shown little interest in Korbin’s life up until now, aside from a few scoldings here and there. Most of his discipline was delegated to his mother or his tutors.
He tried to distract himself with breakfast, enjoying a hefty meal directly from the kitchen. Sausage, eggs, and bacon—his favorites! The cooks were always kind to him and his sisters, and their hospitality never felt forced. While Korbin was used to being treated like a wealthy prince, he tried to remain humble because he saw how his father and mother were—how they would stick their noses up at the servants and lesser nobles. They were prideful, as most royalty should be.
But Korbin never found anything in his life to be proud of.
Everything was given to him—his wealth, power, and title. He knew why his father worried about his choices; because it was likely Korbin would squander everything he had built. Korbin’s life and future were in the claws of the king: the dragon who had created him.
Yet, Korbin was his own dragon. His desires differed from his father’s vision. He wanted to follow a different path, but he didn’t know where to start. The one paved for him had walls on either side of it, and they were closing in faster and faster. There was no opportunity to stray from it, and the path became narrower every day. He worried that he would find the end of his journey and become imprisoned in a boring life.
Rein had helped Korbin realize that he wanted more than what his father had built for him.
Well, maybe I want less than that. Maybe I want a simple life, like a commoner? All I would have to worry about is my mate and children. And I guess I’d have to find a job… Hmm.
The more Korbin thought about it, the more tempting it was to run away from all of his responsibilities, but he knew it would never be that easy. Still, the thought of having a mate like Rein would make his life more enjoyable. Perhaps children would be difficult to come by, but there were always dragonets up for adoption!
I’m still too young to be thinking about hatchlings… Korbin sighed and returned to his room to finish getting ready for the day. Reika Bloodscale, the princess of Rrodan, was meant to make her appearance today, so he needed to be in peak condition!
After undressing and taking off all of his clothes, he wandered over to the large basin for his bath and tugged on the rope for hot, soapy water. The chute dropped, and minutes later water began pouring in, splashing against the stone.
While he waited for his bath to fill up, he rummaged through his wardrobe to find fresh silks for the day. These were like the ones his father wore: deep-purple and silver. A thicker weave acted as a shawl that would wrap over his shoulders and drape down his backside to cover most of his lithe body. It was deep-purple with silver embroidering the fabric in a fanciful, swirling design. Another similar piece acted as his loincloth, and to accentuate his royal position, black silks were meant to dangle around his limbs, cinched by rubies.
Korbin felt that it was overbearing and a tad gaudy, but it is what his father would like him to wear. It had a chance to impress the princess, but truthfully Korbin was more concerned about what Rein would think. Butterflies warmed his belly as he thought about the other prince. Though he didn’t realize it, he was smiling brightly.
I don’t think he cares so much about what I wear… He’ll just take it all off anyway!
Korbin chuckled to himself and laid out his clothes for the day. The bath was nearly ready and smelled heavily of lavender and sage as steam rose off the hot water. By dipping a few claws into the water, he made sure the water wasn’t too scalding-hot before stepping in. Heat seeped into his bones and relaxed his muscles. A deep rumbling filled his chest as he submerged himself up to his neck, lying down in the deepest part of the bath.
Sometimes Korbin liked to take his time in cleaning every nook and cranny with special soaps and brushes to give his dark fur a cleanly luster, but he knew he didn’t have long this morning, so he rubbed himself clean as he soaked. Taking a little extra time in his nether regions, he relaxed a little too much and let his thoughts sift through naughty memories and ideas. It didn’t take much for his arousal to swell in his sheath, his flesh gradually spilling out and wafting in the water. Had he more time, Korbin would have gladly spilled his seed to alleviate the ache in his loins, but he also looked forward to giving Rein that opportunity!
Water splattered on the stone floor as Korbin stepped out of the bath and let it drip from his naked body. He grabbed a towel to dry off and opened up a window to let in a cool breeze. Flowery scents of the gardens mixed with the sweet, cleanly scents of his bath. He hummed a tune while fluffing up his fur, quite content with his morning so far.
If I were to run away with Rein, I wouldn’t have mornings like this anymore… But I would have Rein with me, and every moment I spend with him trounces a peaceful morning like this! Korbin smiled and found himself thinking about the red prince once again. He couldn’t shake Rein from his thoughts!
Korbin’s fur felt damp even after drying himself. He sat close to the window and looked outside to watch the birds fly past while singing their happy songs. Far off in the distance, rain clouds left the sky gray, but the sun shone brightly here. Looking down to the city, the castle’s shadow loomed over the nearby district. From his room, Korbin couldn’t see much of the festivities, if there was anything going on this early in the morning.
Before losing himself in his daydreams, Korbin heard a heavy knock at his door.
Is it time already? He knew it was nearing time for the meeting with the Bloodscales that his father wished for him to attend, but he wasn’t eager for it. “Enter,” he called out. He didn’t mind servants seeing him naked, so he turned to approach the door.
But instead of a servant, it was a handsome, blood-red scaled dragon.
“Rein? What are you doing here so early?… Someone is going to notice—”
Rein pranced excitedly toward Korbin and bared a toothy grin. “I was sent to retrieve you for the meeting.” He bumped muzzles with him and purred affectionately. The warm glow in his golden eyes was just as intoxicating as the smile on his face. He wore his usual ebony silks with golden jewelry accentuating his lavish looks. The creamy-white of his underbelly was scarcely visible, and his loincloth covered him as it was meant to, but Korbin couldn’t help but to peek under his clothes and admire what bare scales he could see. His limbs remained exposed, so he was content in visually appreciating Rein’s powerful muscles. Golden bands wrapped around his strong forearms, and golden rings curled around his claws and talons.
Korbin grinned and hugged around the other drake tightly. “It is good to see you again.”
“I can’t stop thinking about you,” Rein admitted. He wrapped around the smaller, furred-drake snugly and tucked him against his warm scales. “When they told me to come to you, I could hardly stifle my smile. I know it is only moments that we have, but I’ll take every second they give me.”
It warmed Korbin’s heart that Rein cared so deeply for him. The feelings were mutual, and he reciprocated the excitement by licking and nuzzling the red prince all over. “The meeting is now?”
Rein nodded. His large forepaws gently caressed the naked silvery fur of Korbin’s body. He wasn’t afraid to let his touch sensually linger and explore. “But after, my parents plan on departing the city to meet my sister. They won’t be back until later this evening, so…” The true reason of Rein’s excitement showed itself. He nestled his lips against Korbin’s ear and purred, “So maybe we can find somewhere to spend all that time together… alone.”
With the way Rein’s scent filled his head, and with how he leaned his heavier body into Korbin while touching him, the little dragon could hardly suppress his carnal desires. His sheath felt swollen no matter how hard he tried not to enjoy Rein’s tenderness. “That… That sounds like a lovely idea… Rrrrrrr…”
“You smell nice,” Rein said and gently nipped Korbin’s neck. His nostrils flared as he smelled Korbin’s clean fur.
Korbin reluctantly pulled away with a huff and a deep breath. He clenched his claws and suppressed his wanting arousal before it could produce his pink tip. “S-Sorry… We should go before we get caught…”
Rein chuckled with a wide smirk stretching his lips; he knew what he was doing! He turned tail to Korbin and sauntered away with a sexy swagger. His hips bounced, and his thick tail swayed behind him. The ebony silks dangling over his haunches covered what they needed to, but Korbin could still admire the naked strength of his thighs and calves that led down to his paws. “I shall wait outside your room until you’re ready, then.”
Korbin shivered and took a deep breath to collect himself while a soft blush warmed his cheeks. He dressed himself with those lavish, purple and silver silks. Red rubies pieced the fancifully-embroidered outfit together. After draping his loincloth around his waist and throwing the shawl over his back, he was ready to represent his family as properly as he could!
Down the corridor and a few left turns led them to the council chamber. The most difficult part about the meeting—so far—was trying not to smile and giggle like a giddy hatchling as he walked alongside Rein. The playful part of him wanted to bump into the bigger drake and try to shove him around, but the smart part of him knew better than to wrestle with the royal prince of the Bloodscales. Mostly, he worried that his father would take note of the big, toothy grin on his muzzle as they stepped inside, so he tried his best stone-faced expression when the two of them walked into the council chambers.
Rein split off to the right to join his parents, King Ryker and Queen Reika Bloodscale. The two crimson dragons hovered tall over the round, gold-embroidered table. Golden bands of jewelry stretched around their bulging muscles and decorated their bodies. Korbin’s father sat across from them, also donned in his most lavish clothes and jewelry. Like Korbin, he wore the colors of their kingdom: purple and silver. His black fur was darker than Korbin’s but lightened along his belly in the same manner. Silver jewelry wrapped around his double-pair of ivory horns, a crown for his head.
His silver eyes chilled Korbin to the bone as he glared right through him. But upon seeing that Korbin took care in preparing for this meeting, his icy expression softened. Tilting his head to his left, he gestured for Korbin to sit beside him.
A soft mat was lain out for Korbin to sit on. The table was just under his shoulders as he sat sejant beside King Derrik Shadowmoon. Worry gnawed at his stomach as he realized that it was only the five of them.
Do they know about us? Are they here to scold us? Where is my mother and my father’s advisor—they normally attend the meetings too!
Prior to the meeting, Korbin’s father had mentioned that it would be about his and the kingdom’s future. The meeting would help solidify the alliance between the kingdom of Rylia and Rrodan. It seemed too important not to have everyone here!
“As we discussed,” Derrik began, “this meeting will begin the preliminaries of the draft for our alliance.” Korbin’s father spoke in a deep, rumbling voice. For most of his life, Korbin thought that his father was the strongest dragon in the world. But now as he looked across the table, he saw two dragons that were bigger and stronger than his father, and Korbin knew that Rein would one day surpass all of them. Even at his young age he sat nearly as tall as Korbin’s father.
Korbin felt small.
“We may leave the trade adjustments and quantities to our financial advisors,” Ryker said. His voice was deeper than Derrik’s, like an earthquake trembling from his throat. “I believe it is time to discuss betrothals?”
Derrik glanced down at Korbin, which made the little drake gulp. His fur prickled.
“Yes, I do believe so.” Korbin’s father laid out a silver ring with amethysts embedded around it. The metal was carved to the like of dragon tails twining together. Ryker pulled a ring off of his digit of the same lavishness, but of gold and rubies. Instead of tails, it was shaped after dragon-scales that folded over one another.
“I propose that we hand over the decision to our sons and daughters. Let them mingle for the remainder of your time here so that they may become acquainted. Our sons will give the final say—whether my Korbin would choose your daughter or if your Rein would choose one of my daughters.”
Ryker furrowed his brow and looked to Rein for a brief moment. As he turned his attention back to Derrik, he inhaled and puffed out his chest a little. “My son’s blood is of great import. We are a proud race of fighters with strength beyond measure. While I mean no disrespect toward you or your offspring, I feel that the value of my pride and blood should be met with an equal offer. If I am to give you Rein’s band of marriage, I would request a piece of your territory as well to give to him and his chosen wife.”
It seemed that Derrik had expected that. His face was as stoic as ever, left untouched by the proposition. If he was offended, he didn’t show it. “If Rein chooses one of my daughters, then he may have Northbend; it is my north-easternmost land that resides at our shared border. The same river that reaches this city also stretches through it and into Rrodan.”
Korbin heard no counteroffer. It should have wounded him to hear that his value was lesser than Rein’s, but in his infatuation for the red prince, he understood why.
A small smile curled Ryker’s lips to show that he was pleased with that offer. With a brief nod at his wife, they agreed to it. “Should our sons be unable to make the decision themselves, how shall we decide this arrangement?”
“I would suggest we take it to my seers and leave it to fate,” Derrik offered. “My kin are well-attuned to the natural order of the world. They would know who to choose under the moons’ guidance.”
The Bloodscales considered it. From what Korbin understood, they were not dragons of faith. They would put strength and honor before any religion, and Rein had told him that they followed no god or gods—they put faith in themselves and their families. Their kingdom was built by honor and blood.
“I am normally not one for leaving fate to the moons, but I will respect you and your culture. This alliance will greatly benefit both of our kingdoms, and if this is what it takes to reach an agreement, then I will relinquish this decision to my son and the gods.”
Derrik nodded once and lifted his chin. “Then it is settled. In two days time, we will sign our new treaty.”
Korbin swallowed. His heart was racing in his chest, and when he spared a glance at Rein, he could see the same worries filling his eyes. Just like that, they only had two days to make a decision that would affect them for the rest of their lives. It seemed hopeless. Korbin hadn’t even met Reika, Rein’s sister, but he had not heard good things about her. And Rein wasn’t attracted to Korbin’s sisters. So far, he had scarcely met them either! At this moment, it seemed like one of them would have to make the sacrifice for the other, but either way, neither of them would be happy with the outcome. It was a lose-lose situation, so now the weight of their kingdoms and families burdened them greater than ever before.
“For now, my wife and I shall depart to greet our daughter. Any minute she will be over the horizon. I understand there will be another banquet tonight?” Ryker asked. His intimidating gaze turned toward Korbin, his golden eyes brimming with intensity.
“Yes, we will have another feast prepared. As you wished, it will only be our families and our closest aides and advisors.”
“Good. Less noise and clutter that way,” Reika added. “It will be a good opportunity for our children to become acquainted.”
Ryker’s eyes lifted from Korbin, much to the small drake’s relief. He felt like he could breathe again! “Yes. Our daughter, Reika, will be quite thrilled to taste of your food. While it pains me to admit, your cuisine does have a better palate than our palace’s.”
Derrik bared a polite smile and dipped his head. “I am pleased to hear. Until the evening, then. Safe travels.”
There were no more conversations to be had. The meeting was purely political in every regard. Korbin dared not spare even a glance toward Rein, but he was sure that the red prince was feeling the same despair that he felt throbbing at the front of his head. He had to think of a way out of this, but the inevitability was growing insurmountable!
Korbin followed his father toward their quarters. His steps were slow, and he quickly fell behind from the king’s great strides.
Derrik stopped and turned his head while Korbin caught up. His icy glare stared down at the young prince. “What troubles you?”
Coming to a stop, he turned his head and avoided making eye contact. “Father… What if… What if I don’t wish to marry yet?” Korbin asked quietly. He didn’t like that the fate of his future was taken out of his paws. It should be his decision on who he should marry. If he was to be engaged with someone for the rest of his life, it should be his choice!
Derrik scowled at him and snorted a terse breath of air. “We don’t always get what we want in life. In time, you will see the importance of a decision like this. Our duty is to our kingdom—not to our own desires.”
It was the answer Korbin had expected, and it certainly didn’t quell his worries. “I understand…”
Derrik turned to face him and regarded Korbin with the rare look of concern. “I was not given the opportunity you have now. You and the Bloodscale prince have the chance to make a choice. I know this is a… difficult decision, but perhaps the two of you can work out a deal on your own to make it more agreeable.”
King Shadowmoon turned tail to Korbin and made a path to his private chamber. While those few words were all he had for his son, it was more than Korbin could have expected. In a way, his father had given him permission to go speak with Rein—after he had initially barred him from greeting the other prince. It gave Korbin hope and excitement, so he immediately turned around and trotted over to the guest corridor to find Rein!
After poking his head around a few corners to make sure he wouldn’t be discovered by the Bloodscale king and queen, he was delighted to see the red prince on his way toward him! Korbin hopped out of hiding and swished his tail excitedly at the end of the corridor. Rein perked up and dashed down the hall to greet Korbin by bonking their heads together.
“We should hurry. My parents are departing in minutes,” Rein said.
Korbin smiled and glanced around to make sure no one was watching before he nuzzled Rein affectionately. “C’mon. I know of a place where we won’t be disturbed.”
Korbin led Rein out of the palace and through the gardens, avoiding any and all suspicious eyes. Though the verdant gardens were like a maze, Korbin knew their winding paths like the back of his paw. There was a tall tree beside the wall that they could climb and safely use to hop over and land on the other side. It was a path that Korbin and his sisters had used in the past if they wanted to secretly come and go from the palace. From the hill the palace resided on, there was a narrow passage downward of smooth stones that was scarcely used. A stream of water led them down and around the outskirts of the city until they could be obscured by the nearby forest.
The trail snaked through the forest while following a babbling creek running downhill. Vibrant plants and flowers were scattered in the underbrush. Shadows of the leaves danced around them as the breeze blew through the tall trees, helping alleviate the heat of the hot sun. All sorts of different fresh scents filled the air, mixing into a delightful aroma that could only be found away from civilization. Birds sang their songs back and forth, and if Korbin listened closely enough, he could hear the croaks of frogs near the creek.
The narrow path was just big enough for the two of them to walk alongside another. Their pace wasn’t rushed at all, and sometimes they would stop to take it all in.
Eventually, the path opened up to a small clearing just before the widest section of the creek. A sunning-rock sat in the open for any dragon wishing to bathe in the sunlight. Sand crept up from the tiny river while water rushed by. An overgrown garden blossomed near the creek with a whole rainbow of colorful flowers. Three life-like statues of dragons that had long-since passed were nestled just inside the garden but clearly visible from the clearing. Each one had a different set of gems for eyes, and if Korbin’s history lessons were correct, he knew them as Rylian kings from before his father and grand-father’s time.
“My sisters and I found this a few years ago,” Korbin said to Rein. “It’s really peaceful here. Sometimes I venture out here by myself to just… get away from everything.”
Rein walked around and admired the scenery. His handsome crimson scales sparkled like rubies in the sunlight streaming through the canopy. “It is quiet,” he agreed. “And beautiful. This country is much more appealing to the eyes than my own. Even our dragon-made gardens don’t come close to this.” He knelt down and brushed his snout into some flowers to smell them. Smiling, he turned to face Korbin with his thick tail swaying behind him. “Thank you for bringing me here.”
Korbin stepped closer and nuzzled Rein’s snout affectionately. A deep rumble filled Rein’s chest as he wrapped a forepaw around Korbin’s neck and tucked him closer. His affectionate nuzzlings led down to the base of Korbin’s neck where he kissed it. Their necks rubbed together as they nestled into one another, sitting down with their chests almost touching while they leaned into a tender embrace. Rein’s bigger, heavier body was like a strong rock to lean against, and Korbin was happy to do so.
As Korbin rested his head on Rein’s broad chest, he felt Rein’s big paws caressing his back and shoulders. Claws lightly sifted through Korbin’s fur where it was available, often dipping under his clothes to find more. As Rein’s scent lifted to his nostrils, Korbin let out a sigh of relaxation and enjoyed the red prince.
“We will be alone out here?” Rein asked softly as he started to undress Korbin. He loosened the shawl around Korbin’s shoulders and pulled it off.
Knowing what they were about to do was making butterflies flutter in Korbin’s stomach. Blushing, he nodded his head and helped Rein uncinch his clothes so that they would fall to his feet. “I’ve never seen anyone else here before.”
Rein purred as he licked the back of Korbin’s neck. A big paw grabbed at his rump and tucked the furred drake into Rein’s underbelly before Rein reached down and slipped Korbin’s breechcloth off. Rein’s smooth scales were warm to the touch as Korbin eagerly caressed him. It didn’t take long for Korbin to feel the warm, natural air flowing over his naked body, and it was exciting to let Rein freely explore his nudity. The excitement of having sex again was making his loins feel just as hot as the blush on his face.
“I don’t believe I’ve ever mated out in the wilds like this before. It’s kind of like the gardens, but this feels so much more… natural.” Rein stood tall and proud as the two of them took off all of his clothes too. They were a little easier to manage with fewer layers, so Rein’s bare scales were revealed in moments. His muscles rippled over his body and bulged around his thick limbs. As they sat in front of another, Rein towered over Korbin by a foot or two. Korbin couldn’t help but to curiously look down and admire the slit between his legs. Though there wasn’t anything to see yet, it was still a private part of Rein that most didn’t get to see! And he was sure Rein enjoyed looking at Korbin’s fuzzy sheath and balls too.
Korbin’s forepaws pressed against Rein’s broad chest and gently kneaded into it as he looked up into his golden eyes and smiled. “It does feel more freeing,” Korbin added. Rein leaned down to kiss the top of Korbin’s snout and then down to his cheek as he held the smaller drake closely. A little giggle escaped Korbin’s lips as Rein nipped under his jaw and licked it.
“I feel more alive when I’m with you,” Rein purred. “You bring me such joy and excitement… Even a little adventure in the forest makes me feel elated. I haven’t felt like this with anyone before…” Rein brushed their muzzles together and hugged Korbin tightly. “I just… I wanted you to know that—that you’re special to me.”
Korbin’s smile couldn’t have stretched his lips any wider. Staring into Rein’s eyes made his heart flutter in his chest. He could hardly keep still, his body wanting to wriggle in his excitement while his tail swished through the tall grass behind him. “You’re special to me too… I had no idea what sharing myself with someone else would be like. It feels… really, really good.”
Rein’s touch sensually traced the curves of Korbin’s lithe body as he reached down to rub his hips. “I am happy to hear that. It pains me that our time together is so short…” An injured look crossed his expression as he looked away from Korbin’s eyes. “I… I didn’t expect this. The dragons I’ve been with before were just so… Well, they wanted pleasure just as I did, and that was mostly it. I simply didn’t realize until now that it would be possible to find a male that would cherish me as much as I cherish him, and I found that in you. This is… different. We are different.”
Korbin reached up and brushed his claws over Rein’s cheek to turn his head back toward him so that Rein would see the adoring, loving expression on his face. He nuzzled their cheeks together and smooched Rein affectionately. It was true that they would have to choose a mate and leave one another soon, and now Korbin saw that the idea was pestering Rein too.
“What if…” Korbin swallowed. Dare he ask? “What if we got married instead?”
It seemed that the idea hadn’t crossed Rein’s mind before since his eyes seemed to light up at the mention of it. Neither of them had ever heard of royalty marrying the same gender. It was always males and females. “I-I don’t think our fathers would allow that…”
Korbin realized the same thing, but he could feel that idea taking hold. This was what he wanted, and he hoped that Rein wanted it too! “Maybe we can convince them!” he insisted. “After all, it’s about diplomacy, right? We’re still uniting our kingdoms together if we marry.”
Rein smiled warmly and nodded. “It is a good point, but I believe our parents would insist on the fact that we cannot produce heirs. And my father… My blood is very valuable to him. His wish is to pass down our genes for generations to come. I’m sure your father feels the same. There’s a reason a prince is more valuable than a princess.”
Korbin’s mind raced with all the different possibilities and arguments, but before he wanted to pursue them further, he took a deep breath and took one of Rein’s forepaws into his. Their digits mingled together and squeezed. “We can worry about the details later. But…” Blushing, he traced his thumb-claw over the top of Rein’s paw and asked, “If they were to agree, is that what you would want? To marry me?”
Rein’s expression softened. He lovingly gazed into Korbin’s sky-blue eyes and nodded his head. “Yes.” A deep rumble filled Rein’s chest as he rubbed Korbin’s sides. “And you would marry me?”
“Of course…” To help answer that question further, Korbin nosed into the big drake’s cheek and leaned into him. As Rein gently nudged snouts with him, Korbin turned to nuzzle back, and he found Rein’s lips against his own. They hesitated until their eyes met, and in their intimate gaze, Korbin saw Rein’s love and adoration mixing in with those golden swirls. He hoped that Rein saw what he was feeling too!
Closing his eyes, Korbin tilted his muzzle to the side and suddenly found himself kissing Rein. It was soft and slow at first as they tested the waters. Their lips mouthed together before their tongues found one another and lightly curled. The longer they kissed, the further they were willing to delve. As warmth flooded Korbin’s body with trembling anticipation, he eagerly opened his maw further and let Rein’s tongue slide inside. Their mouths locked in one of the most intimate ways possible as they shared a loving kiss with one another.
Kissing was meant for mates, so it was exciting to be sharing something so intimately precious with someone he loved. Whether or not they would be married, Korbin would always remember this moment. “Mmmm…” Korbin shuddered as Rein slipped his tongue deeper inside his maw. He put his forepaws on his big chest and let the larger drake lean into him.
Rein’s claws sifted through Korbin’s fur, sliding up and down his naked body. One paw slid up to the back of Korbin’s head and pulled him in, continuing to engage in a tender kiss. They shared pleasured breaths with one another, sometimes pausing the kiss for only a second or two so they could catch their breath.
By the time they pulled away from one another, they were both sprouting stiff erections that jutted out from between their legs. Their gaze stayed in an intimate connection before Korbin watched Rein’s eyes follow the length of his naked body down to see Korbin’s hard, pink member.
Korbin could hardly contain himself. Everything with Rein felt so perfect. In his mind, he wanted nothing more than to marry him, but all the obstacles in their way nagged at him. “You’re sure you want to… commit to me? I-I know we’ve only known each other for a few days, but…” Korbin’s tail swished faster behind him as he thought about having Rein as his mate. “But I get these feelings I’ve never felt before. I didn’t ever consider being with another male before, so this has all been kind of crazy to think about, but I think I like guys more now anyway, and I like you a lot, but I—”
“Korbin,” Rein stopped him and chuckled. “I love you.” Rein gently nudged Korbin backward, guiding him into the grass on his back. As Korbin found a comfortable spot to lie down, Rein nestled against his belly and between his legs. Their erections squished into each other’s underbellies, but most of Korbin’s focus was on Rein’s loving face and the way his golden eyes swirled around his irises. “I don’t need time to help speak of my heart’s desires. This is what I want, and if you want it too, then let’s get married. We will make it work. Tradition be damned.”
Korbin melted. “I-I love you too.” His heart knocked against his ribcage while his stomach tried to fly into his throat. Through all the anxious sensations he was feeling, he felt something more unique than he had ever felt before. However indescribable it was, it was as if his and Rein’s spirits were intertwined. His soul was calm in spite of how shaky everything else was.
They kissed again as their bodies interlocked. Tails twined together and tongues curled in the same way. It was such a wonderfully, blissful feeling to kiss Rein like this. Korbin felt so anxious, but at the same time he couldn’t have felt happier. His emotions twirled around like a tornado, rushing through him all at once and making him wonder what he was supposed to be feeling. Honing his thoughts, he focused on Rein and the way he made Korbin feel so warm and fuzzy! Though the red prince was almost twice his size, he was so gentle and loving.
When they pulled away from the kiss, both of them were left breathless. Korbin caressed Rein’s cheek and smiled up at him, his sky-blue eyes swirling with excitement. “So I guess that makes us mates now… right?”
Rein chuckled and licked Korbin’s lips affectionately. “I suppose we are…” Those licks didn’t stop there; they continued down his jawline, to his cheek, and then they followed down his neck, which roused a soft gasp from Korbin’s lips. The more Rein doted his sensitive neck, the more warmth Korbin felt flushing his face. Already, his loins felt hot with his arousal, and feeling Rein’s belly nudging against his erection helped stir some more lustful urges.
As Rein slathered his tongue over Korbin’s collarbone, the little drake huffed and spread his legs, submitting to the red prince. He wanted nothing more than to feel Rein inside him again. He felt Rein’s hard, warm length brushing over his fur on its way down to his tailbase, and the closer it came, the more his heart raced with anticipation. “S-So now we can do stuff that mates do?”
“Mmmm, what was stopping us before?” Rein purred. He lifted his head over Korbin’s and softly smiled down at him as he lined their hips up. His gaze lingered in Korbin’s eyes as he gently pushed inside him and made Korbin groan with delight. Rein’s large shaft stretched Korbin’s entrance open as his tip squeezed inside. A grunt escaped Rein’s lips as he penetrated the smaller dragon and started to slowly work his length deeper into him.
“Ooh… Rein…” Korbin closed his eyes and curled his toes as he relaxed his muscles so Rein could push in further. He felt just as big as before, almost too big for a drake of Korbin’s size. But now that they had grown accustomed to having sex with one another, it wasn’t difficult for Korbin to lie back and take him. They lay belly-to-belly so they could be intimately close with one another. Between the arousal, pleasure, and sensual feelings, this was the perfect position for them to express their physical love and attraction to one another.
“That’s it… Relax, my love,” Rein purred as he slowly pulled out and pushed in. He squeezed into Korbin another few inches as his hips swayed in an intimate dance. A lusty rumble filled his throat as he slid the rest of the way in, stretching the smaller drake’s entrance wide-open.
“Aahh…” Korbin shuddered as he took Rein all the way. The other drake’s slit squished against his tailbase as his giant cock throbbed inside him. Though it made Korbin’s rump ache, it was a welcome sensation. Once again, they found themselves tied at the hips, but this time felt so much more tender and intimate. Korbin loved being at the center of Rein’s adoration! He opened his eyes to stare affectionately into Rein’s loving gaze. “You feel so big…”
Rein chuckled and swiveled his hips to grind his lap into Korbin’s haunches and make his penetration feel even deeper as Korbin stretched around him. “And you’re so soft and tight… I love how you feel against me. Inside and out.”
Korbin blushed as they rubbed their snouts together and maintained loving eye-contact as they shared one another’s bodies for pleasure. Though this definitely wasn’t the first time they had mated, it was certainly special. He tenderly caressed Rein’s muscles along his white-plated chest and red-scaled forearms while admiring how handsome the red prince was. Rein was Korbin’s mate now, so they were relaxed and comfortable together. Korbin didn’t have to worry about anything other than enjoying sex with his future husband!
As Korbin’s gaze wandered down the length of Rein’s attractive body, he watched the larger drake’s muscles flex as his hips swayed back and forth. They rocked together as Rein’s length slipped in and out of Korbin’s rump. It firmly rubbed against Korbin’s pleasure-spot and made tingling waves of warmth flush his loins. He moaned with ecstasy and put his forepaws on Rein’s shoulders while his hind-legs gripped Rein’s flanks. Another pleasured moan escaped his lips as he stared up into Rein’s golden eyes.
“Rwrrr, that’s it, Korbin…” Rein huffed and groaned as his thrusts worked into a steady rhythm. Their mating was different this time. While it was still about giving one another pleasure before, this time felt slow and methodical as they focused moreso on each other. His thrusts were slower and using his whole body to help push into Korbin. Their bellies and limbs all brushed together and moved in time with their mating as they lay in the tall grass. Nature surrounded them as the leaves rustled in the warm breeze. Birds sang their songs along the babbling creek without a care to the two dragons mating nearby.
Rein’s name spilled from Korbin’s lips as he felt his shaft squeeze deep inside him. Rein brushed their muzzles together and moaned back to him as he buried his full length over and over again. Their bodies rocked back and forth as their limbs tangled together. Warm pleasure flushed Korbin’s loins as Rein’s cock stroked his pleasure spot repeatedly. Pre dripped into his furred-belly and smeared over Rein’s plated scales too.
The longer they mated, the more Korbin felt Rein’s larger body pressing into him. He felt so small as he was tucked under the red prince. As Rein rocked into him, his broad chest bumped into Korbin’s snout. His warm scales smothered Korbin as his powerful limbs encompassed the smaller dragon’s body. Rein’s virile scent lifted to his nostrils as he rubbed his snout under Rein’s neck.
“Rwrrrrr, does that feel good?” Rein asked in his deep voice. He curled his neck around to nuzzle the back of Korbin’s head, avoiding his horns.
“Y-Yes… Ooh, yes…” Korbin couldn’t have imagined a better moment than this. Everything was lining up perfectly. His emotions mixed with his bodily instincts and swelled within him. Love and adoration for his mate blended with the lusts and arousal that he felt building. Hot waves of pleasure flooded his loins as Rein’s hips patted against his own. Rein’s eager thrusts quickened, and it didn’t take much longer for Korbin to feel that ecstasy bubbling over.
“Rein… I-I’m close…” Korbin’s soft moans dripped from his lips. He hardly had time to take a breath before another bout of pleasure tingled up his spine. Pre oozed from his tip and smeared across their bellies.
“M-Me too…” Rein’s pleasured growls rumbled in his chest as he thrust hard inside of Korbin.
Their sounds of pleasure joined together as they shared each other. Korbin felt Rein’s thick length squeezing deep inside him and making his toes curl as his tip rubbed against his prostate. It pushed and milked it until the little drake couldn’t hold back. A lewd whimper escaped his lips as his loins released that pressure building up inside of him like a dam. His muscles tightened around Rein’s girth and pulsed in time with the throbs of his cock as warm, sticky seed spilled out of it. It gushed at first and lanced across both of their bellies before drizzling and pooling in Korbin’s belly-fur.
Stealing a quick glance beneath him, Rein watched Korbin cum, his throbbing cock spewing thick strands of his seed over his light-gray fur. “Korbin…” Rein nuzzled firmly into the back of Korbin’s neck and let out a hot breath of air. The sight seemed to encourage him to finish. He shuddered against Korbin and panted with deep growls vibrating in his throat. His last thrusts were hard and heavy until he buried his pulsing shaft as deep as he could to pump Korbin’s tunnel full of his warm seed.
“Aaahh…” Korbin winced as he felt Rein claim him. Every powerful throb spilled another glob of his virile essence inside him, and when he pulled out to thrust in again, he left a dripping mess running down the base of Korbin’s tail. “Aaahh, Rein…” The big drake grinded his hips feverishly into Korbin, his slit squishing against Korbin’s undertail while his cock was buried inside his drenched tunnel. All Korbin could do was hold onto Rein and accept his seed. “Yesss… That’s it…”
“Rrrrff…” Rein huffed and panted with growls filling the space between. His instinct to breed had kicked in, and Korbin found it exhilarating to be pinned beneath a virile drake in the throes of his climax. He stroked Rein’s smooth scales while enjoying the afterglow of his orgasm. By the time Rein finished spilling his seed, his weight fell on Korbin as he went limp. “Mmmfff… That was… wonderful,” Rein purred.
They remained tied at the hips as Rein softened inside Korbin, both of them spent and satisfied. “It was,” Korbin agreed. His purring joined Rein’s as they basked in the afterglow together. While relaxing and sharing tender affection, the two of them found their snouts nearing until they looked one another in the eyes. Swirling spheres of blue and gold joined together, and inside Rein’s gaze Korbin saw his vulnerable soul displayed to him.
A soft smile curled Korbin’s lips as he admired his mate. That smile turned into an even bigger grin when Rein smiled back, and seconds later they found themselves kissing again. Rein initiated it by turning his muzzle to the side, and Korbin leaned in to accept it. Their tongues curled together as they shared their love for one another. It was a new sensation that Korbin never wanted to let go of. His heart raced in his chest with a joyful rhythm while still feeling relaxed and comfortable. When they pulled away from the kiss, their muzzles stayed together.
“If that didn’t put a clutch in you, I don’t know what will,” Rein rumbled as he kissed Korbin’s cheek.
Korbin giggled and brushed his claws over Rein’s face and down his neck. “We can always keep trying.”
“We certainly can and will.” Their eyes met again as Rein lifted his head and smiled brightly down at the smaller drake beneath him. “I’ve always dreamed of being with someone like you,” Rein purred. He gazed into Korbin’s eyes with a lusty, eyes-half-open expression. “Someone that doesn’t care who my family is or that I’m a prince. You just cherish me for who I am, and that’s all I ever wanted.”
“It’s all I’ve ever wanted, too,” Korbin said. “I guess I didn’t realize it until I met you… I never knew what kind of dragon I would want to marry or spend my life with. I didn’t consider the possibility of finding someone… Well, of mating with another drake. I-I’m glad we met the way we did.”
Rein chuckled and gave Korbin a quick kiss. “I love you.”
Korbin’s heart soared. “I love you, too.”
Time passed faster than Korbin would have liked. He didn’t know how long they had been gone, or how many moments they stayed cuddling together, but he saw the sun beginning to descend down the opposite horizon and realized that they should return to the palace before suspicions grew. The banquet would be near sundown, and the princess of Rrodan would be making her appearance!
After cleaning up in the river, the two of them found their loose clothing and dressed again before finding the trail to lead them out of the dense forest. As they returned up the hilly path toward the palace, Rein playfully bumped into Korbin and smiled at him.
“I long for the day that we no longer have to hide ourselves,” Rein began and nudged Korbin’s cheek. “I wish to proudly walk the streets with you at my side, to let everyone gaze upon us with envy. I desire to show the world that you are mine.”
Korbin blushed at the thought of being Rein’s chosen prize. He swooned over the idea of being tucked against Rein’s protective presence, to be the impenetrable target of jealous dragons. Rein was the talk of the city—all of the females adored him. Even his sister’s spoke of their desires to help grow his bloodline. Rein could have chosen anyone else, but he had fixed his gaze on Korbin from the start. Butterflies fluttered in Korbin’s belly as he pictured Rein’s vision.
“Do you… Do you think we can convince them?” Korbin asked hopefully. He knew it would be a long-shot, but it didn’t seem impossible. “My father is stubborn, but I believe he will see reason.”
Rein paused for a moment before nodding. “It would still be a bountiful alliance and partnership between our kingdoms. The only downside I see from their perspective is that we will not be able to err… provide heirs. Which is why I have a proposition for them. And, well, I should speak with you about it too.”
They paused in their journey. Korbin looked at Rein expectantly with his head cocked curiously. He could see the hesitation in Rein’s eyes.
“I’m still trying to think of a better solution before we present our case… I think it is necessary if they are to agree with us being married,” Rein continued. He chuckled and scratched the back of his head. “They want heirs. I would suggest that one of us should uh… copulate with the other’s sister. You would mate with my sister, Reika, or I would mate with one of your sisters—whoever would be willing.”
Korbin swallowed at the thought. It had been in his imagination before, to breed with a dragoness, but he didn’t think it would be talked about so soon! And to mate with someone he had yet to even meet was a daunting idea indeed. Korbin didn’t think he was ready to be a father. There was still his own life to figure out!
“It’s a crazy idea, I know… It would take everyone’s agreement. Perhaps not right away, but when the time comes. I feel that this may be the only way they allow us to be together, and I’m willing to do anything for you.” Rein nuzzled Korbin lovingly and kissed his cheek.
Korbin nuzzled him back and smiled, nodding. “I would do anything for you too.”
Rein’s golden eyes softened as he gazed at Korbin. “If all else fails, then we can just run away.”
Korbin giggled at the suggestion, but then he realized that Rein was somewhat serious about that. “You’d leave your legacy behind to be with me?”
“Wouldn’t you do the same for me?”
Giddiness wriggled in Korbin’s chest. “Of course I would. But it’s just that… You have so much more to leave behind than I do. I’ve never wanted to be a king or a prince or anything. The only thing I would truly miss is my family—mostly my sisters. I can do without the titles and luxuries.”
Rein chuckled and rested his head on top of Korbin’s. He stepped on Korbin’s forepaw and mingled their digits together. “You would be mistaken to think that I don’t cherish you more than anything my title has to offer. No one in my life has ever loved me as you do. My father thinks of me as a weapon or a tool. My mother thinks of me as an egg-maker. My sister loathes me, jealous of my stature. My older brother was whisked away by responsibilities before I crawled out of my shell. This path I walk is not of my own making. Any time that I have stepped off of it, I have been briskly brought to heel and pointed straight forward.
“Meeting you has led me away from the prison ahead. This path I found with you strays far from the shackles and chains of my future, and it has led me to find myself—not the things or the titles or the reverence. I found who I am in you.” Rein waved his paw down the narrow, dirt path that cut through the forest. “We are alike in many ways. Though we started in different places, our paths converged together: here. And I want to take the road we forge together, no matter how far it drifts from my decided past and future.”
Korbin felt like crying. He never imagined that someone would understand him as much as Rein does. He never knew that anyone could feel the same things he felt. All of his life, he wondered what his purpose was and why he should follow in his father’s steps. It wasn’t what he wanted, and now he realized what he did truly desire; he wanted someone to love him for who he was. He and Rein walked on similar paths until they finally crossed, and now they had to choose which direction to follow.
Korbin sniffled. “I didn’t think that someone as big and strong as you are would be smart too.”
Rein chuckled and gently nosed into Korbin’s cheek. He licked away a tear and purred softly to him. “Earlier, you spoke of how we’ve only known each other for a short time; you worried that we were being too hasty in marrying. Now, do you see how your heart feels? We share similar souls. I know you through my own experiences, and you know me through yours. There is little words can do to describe it. It’s like we were meant to be together.”
Korbin’s toothy smile stretched his lips in spite of the few tears that escaped him. He nodded his head eagerly and licked Rein back. “It’s hard to argue with that…”
Rein met his smile and leaned in for a kiss. Their lips met as their eyes closed, and they let the moment last for a while longer. “Let us hope our parents see reason,” Rein said.
“If not… then I guess we’ll have to find a new kingdom to belong to!” Korbin finished. It made him queasy to think about running away and leaving everything he knew behind. His life wasn’t bad by any means, but he saw how Rein would improve it ten times over. Korbin didn’t want to be a king, no matter how much his father urged him to follow his steps.
When he looked at Rein, he saw a king. He saw a powerful dragon that could do anything. He was strong, wise, and compassionate. Rein would have been a greater king than Korbin could have ever hoped to be, and he was willing to give that up just to be with him. Perhaps their parents would see it as foolish and irresponsible, but it wasn’t their decision to make.
Rein held out his talons with a loving, toothy grin stretching his lips. “I wish to build a future by my own claws. Will you join me?”
Korbin’s heart pounded in his chest, lurching after Rein. He nodded and held Rein’s bigger paw, their claws mingling together to unify their bond. “Yes.”
Rein’s golden eyes swirled with approving adoration. He squeezed Korbin’s small forepaw tightly before leaning down to kiss it. After letting go, he led Korbin up the hill.
Anxious excitement welled inside Korbin as he and Rein climbed their mountains together.
