Another chapter to the hybrid series. I really love this world cause there so much to do and explore. I just want to thank each and every one of you for giving me 500 watches!! I can't believe I actually made it that high. But I'm glad you guys love to read what I enjoy doing, writing stories for your enjoyment. This one was a pain to do but you get to see how Psi came to be who he is. I hope you like it as much as I loved writing it. As always, leave your comments either good, bad, or helpful thoughts. You guys are how I get my motivation. Enjoy!!!!

Kaisl stood in line along with the other inmates. It has been literally hell in this place. Every time he got free period, he spent it standing next to seven footer so he wouldn't get anybody trying to shank him or worse. So far, every attempt has been foiled.

“All right scumbags, free period. Don't try anything stupid or we'll shoot you where you stand and say it was self defense.”

All the inmates scattered in the yard. Some going to the basketball hoop. Some going to the weights and others just hanging around or watching Kaisl and making lines across their throats. Kaisl stood next to the entrance, hugging his body. God did he miss Roman. He would do anything to see that fuzzy tabby cat again. Even if it was a visit.

“Hey fur fucker, heads up!”

Kaisl turned in time to get hit on the head with a basketball at high speed. The impact sent him spiraling to the ground, nose flowing with blood.

“Nice one Riktor,” the inmates laughed with him.

Kaisl got his senses back and got to his knees, hand covering his nose as he glared daggers at the large dark skinned man. Riktor looked at the glare he was getting.

“Got a problem fur fucker?”

Kaisl looked away, getting to his feet as the guard walked over.

“Who threw the ball? I want answers.”

He looked at Kaisl who looked away.

“Who threw the ball limp dick?”

“I don't know sir.”

“Stop lying beast lover. Who. Threw. The. Ball!”

Kaisl looked at the guard before looking away. The guard grabbed him by the collar before bringing him towards the crowd.

“Alright ass-hat, point to who threw the ball or spend the next four hours in the hole.”

Riktor looked at Kaisl, the stare he was giving him was daring him to say something.

“I didn't see sir. When I turned around, the ball hit me.”

“Is this true?” the guard asked looking at Riktor.

“It's true,” Riktor said shrugging his shoulders.

“Whatever. Get back to doing your shit and don't cause trouble,” the guard huffed before walking away.

Riktor looked at Kaisl before grinning.

“Wise choice. Now fuck off. Your face is killing me.”

Kaisl walked away, hating everything about this. Why did they have to come and burst into his home? They did nothing to deserve this. They kept to themselves and never bothered anybody. The only thing that made it worse, was that his parents didn't want anything to do with him. They believed everything that the police told them. He let out a sigh as he slid down the wall.

“I want this nightmare to end,” he sniffed. “I shouldn't be here.”

“You're letting the pressure get to you,” seven footer said.

Kaisl looked up to see him standing next to him.

“Easy for you to say.”

“It is easy for me to say. I've been here way longer then you and I've kept my cool.”

“But nobody knows about your love interest but me.”

Seven footer looked at him from the corner of his eyes before looking up into the sky.

“You may have a point. But even if somebody did know about my history, do you think I care?”

“Probably not since you can defend yourself easily in here.”

“You really think so?”

Kaisl looked at him as he lifted his shirt, eyes going wide. Peppered across his chest were numerous cuts and scars. Seven footer lowered his shirt before closing his eyes.

“I wouldn't call all that defending myself properly, would you?”

“Sorry,” Kaisl said softly.

“Meh, it's in the past. I'm not worried about it anymore. Like I said, don't let the pressure get to you. I don't know if you have a lawyer and will get your hearing, but you need to get a backbone really fast or these people will eat you alive. Do you understand me?”

Kaisl wiped his nose before nodding his head.

“I'll try.”

“That's all anybody asks.”

“Alright maggots, free period is over. Line em up,” the guard shouted.

Seven footer helped Kaisl up before they stood in line. The guards patted them down in case they carried something in with them. Once inside, Kaisl went to his cell and sat down on the bunk and stared at the wall, which is what he's been doing since he got here. There was nothing else he could do. He wondered how Roman was doing? Was he okay? Did he get picked up by somebody or taken back to the farm? All these questions danced in his head and there was no answers to them cause he was stuck in this place. He heard his cell mate come in and jump to the top bunk.

“You done being a baby down there beast lover?”

“Why do you care?”

“I don't really. I just can't stand hearing you whine day after day. I would smother you in your sleep but I'm already serving a life sentence. Don't feel like getting the death penalty.”

“I'm honored,” Kaisl said disgustedly.

The man laughed before laying down.

“I'm surprised you're still alive myself. Being a fur fucker in this place isn't really healthy. Last person that was in here for that, was found in the bathroom with a toothbrush up his ass and throat cut. Horrible scene. Was a nice guy too.”

Kaisl shivered at that. Would he end up like that one day? He pulled his knees up to his chest and leaned against the wall.

“Why couldn't they just leave us alone?”

“If you're going to start crying again, I'll give you something to shut you up.”

That got Kaisl to go quiet real quick as the man on the top bunk chuckled. Tomorrow is another day. He just had to keep his sanity until he would see Roman again.

I don't want to do this.”

You've got no choice. Now you can either fight, or be made into boots.”

The hybrid gritted its teeth before nodding his head reluctantly.

Wise choice. Now, let's go make that money.”

The man pushed the hybrid out into the open where a spot light was flashed on it. It shielded its eyes before being shoved again.

“_ Ladies and gentlemen lets introduce our fighter. To my right, we have an up and coming fighter. He's called the Invisible Assassin. Please welcome Psi.”_

The people started to clap as Psi was shoved into the ring. He looked at his opponent before shrinking to a corner.

“_ And his opponent to my left. He has a twenty fight win streak. Please welcome Thunder.” _

The crowd went crazy as the bear raised his hands and let out a yell. This was crazy. How the hell do you take something like that down?

The battle for survival begins.....engage!”

Thunder rushed Psi, which shocked him seeing someone that large so nimble on his paws. A wicked right hand caught the side of his head sending him reeling to the corner, stars dancing in his vision. Another viscous blow sent him sprawling on the ground.

Get up boy. I know you can fight better then this,” Thunder rumbled out before walking up to him, raising him foot and delivering a solid blow to the stomach lifting him up a couple of inches in the air.

Psi wanted to throw up from that kick, but he had nothing in his stomach thank god. His vision came back in time to roll away from another kick. He got to his feet, breathing hard and lungs burning.

Come on boy, show me what you got. I'll even give you a free hit.”

Thunder let his guard down and waited, paws on his hips. Psi let out a hiss of anger at his cockiness. He gets a free hit huh? Better not waste it. Fists clench, he threw himself at Thunder, connecting with a solid left to the jaw of Thunder. To Thunder's surprise, that actually moved him back a couple of inches. He gave a grin as he turned his face around, lip busted as he lick the blood.

There you go. That's what I'm talking about.”

Thunder came at Psi again, making him go on the defense as he bobbed and weaved the attacks. Thunder stopped attacking and looked at Psi.

If you think, I'm going to get tired out, forget it. Last hybrid that tried that, I gave him a bear hug and broke his back.”

Who said about getting you tired? I just needed to study your moves.”

Study my moves huh? And what do you plan to do after you had?”

Psi smiled before using his camouflage ability and blended into the ring. The one thing that Psi was good at, was his ability to read his opponents and literally cut them down. Thunder never saw the attacks coming as he staggered from every blow. Psi delivered hit after precise hit to Thunder's vital spots, blood streaming from Thunder's mouth as his internal organs shook and rattled in his frame.

The crowd was going crazy at that point, cheering on Psi as he had Thunder on the ropes. Lashing his leg out, he took out Thunder's knees making him fall into the ropes and get his arms tangled into it. Thunder's body was too racked in pain to even try to move as every breath he took was followed by a cough of blood. Psi came out of his camouflage and looked at Thunder. His eyes showing no kind emotion as he gave an evil smile that made Thunder shiver.

Finish him!! Finish him!! Finish him!!,” the crowd chanted.

Thunder shook his head weakly as he looked at him through two swollen eyes.

I'm....sorry. Please.....don't....”

Psi heard him, but for some reason, he wanted to kill him. Wanted to make him suffer. Walking up to Thunder, he lifted his head so he could stare into his eyes.

Time to die,” Psi said with no emotion.

Making a fist, he threw it as hard as he could to Thunder's adam apple, crushing his windpipe and killing him on the spot. The crowd went wild at that as Psi stood there, the adrenaline leaving his body but kept that same emotionless blank stare.

“_ Ladies and gentlemen, your winner......Psi!!” _

Psi!! Psi!! Psi!!,” the crowd chanted.

Psi, can you hear me?”

Psi's mind came back into focus as he looked at the person talking to him.

“What do you want?”

“You tell me. You came to me remember?” Kurt said, sitting in his chair.

Psi got back from his past as he leaned back into the comfy chair. Kurt watched him before picking up him notebook again.

“So that was your first fight huh? How did that make you feel? Taking a life like that?”

“It felt.....good. To actually have somebody scared of me and have that power in my hands.”

“Why choose that profession?”

“I didn't choose it. It choose me.”

“Wouldn't you like to do something different?”

Psi looked at Kurt. And for some reason, Kurt shivered. His expression was so unreadable and scary. He never seen or spoke to a hybrid like this. He was.......dangerous and unpredictable. Those kinds of hybrids are better off on a farm or sadly, dead.

“Why would I do something different? So I can join the other mindless masses being told what to do? That's not how I like to work.”

“Can you tell me who your master is?”

Psi gave an evil smile before shaking his head no.

“Sorry. That info may cost you your life. So I suggest you don't ask again.”

“Just doing my job.”

“So am I.”

“Well if you have nothing more to discuss, you are free to go.”

“Actually there is. Do you know anything about Ryudo Peterson?”

Kurt raised an eyebrow at that.

“Why do you want to know?”

“Because that's all I hear about in this hospital. How good Ryudo is and what a great person he is to hybrids. I want to see for myself.”

“Unfortunately, I can't do that. Doctor/patient privilege.”

Not only that. But you scare me for some reason,” Kurt thought as he watched Psi shrug and stand up from the couch.

“No problem doctor. I'll ask somebody else. I would squeeze the information out of you, but I don't think you would live long enough for that to happen. Catch you later.”

Psi walked out of Kurt's office, closing the door behind him. Once he was gone, Kurt let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding. With a shaky hand, he grabbed his water and took a quick swig.

“Jesus, who the hell is that guy?”

Psi stood outside Kurt's office and took a quick peek back at it.

He's knows something. But I'll let it slide. He seems like a reasonable person. Now, who else knows about this Peterson person?”

His eyes locked on a human that was chuckling away with his target before taking the stairs down. With an evil grin, he followed him.

“You know Kelley, I really wish you would think things through,” the elderly lady said, watching him from the recliner she was sitting on.

“Sorry mom. I know this is short notice, but thank you,” Kelley said, sitting on the couch drinking some tea.

“You know I'm always happy to help my granddaughter.”

They looked to the left to see Sonya giggling away as Lilly and Drew tickled her with their tails. Issac and Damon stood by the door as Trevor was on the phone in the kitchen.

“Thanks man. I owe you,” Trevor said hanging up. He walked into the living room as Kelley looked at him.

“What's the word?”

“Some of my friends say your house is being watched. My detail buddies are working hard to get your home back up and running properly.”

“Thanks Trevor.”

“Just doing my job Kelley.”

Kelley's mom let out a sigh before placing her cup down.

“I really wish you didn't do this. Think about Sonya.”

“I'm thinking about everyone mother. Lilly means the world to Sonya. And I'll be damn if I let things go on the way they are. This isn't right and you know it.”

She chuckled at that before her auburn eyes looked at Damon making his ears perk.

“Come here,” she said softly.

Damon's ears folded halfway as he walked over to her. She motioned him to kneel which he did. Raising her hand, he closed his eyes expecting a hit but murred in pleasure as she combed her fingers through his head fur and between his ears.

“So cute,” she chuckled, watching Damon's tail wag rapidly behind him as his tongue lolled out. “Maybe you do have a point. But you've seen how far they are willing to go to stop you. What will happen next time?”

Kelley was quiet as he looked out the window.

“I knew the risks as soon as I started mother. But I'll be damn if I let them stop me now. Which is why I have to ask you this. Can you keep Lilly and Sonya here with you until this blows over?”

Lilly looked shocked at that before speaking up.

“I don't want to leave you. Not at this critical point of the game. You need all the support you can get.”

“I'll feel better with you here then with me. I don't want anything to happen to you again. You already got lucky once. I don't want you to press your luck again love.”

Lilly folded her ears and lowered her head. Kelley walked over and lifted her chin, giving her a smile.

“I do want all the support I can get, but that support will mean nothing if anything happens to you or Sonya if you are with me.”

Her eyes hesitated before looking into his and nodding softly. Kelley smiled, giving her a soft kiss before standing up. Sonya stopped her giggling and looked at her father.

“What are you going to do daddy?” she asked.

“I know a few people I can count on to watch my back. I'll be back before you know it.”

“Okay,” she said happily, giving him a hug which he returned tightly.

He let go and gave her a kiss on the forehead before heading to the door.

“Where are you going to go Kelley?” Trevor asked.

“To see a friend. I need one of you to stay here and watch over them.”

“I'll stay,” Damon murred, still getting his head scratched.

“I'll stay also,” Drew spoke up.

Kelley nodded as Issac and Trevor followed him out to the jeep.

“Be careful,” Lilly said.

“Always love,” Kelley smiled.

Aaron made his daily rounds on the farm, clipboard in hand and Amanda right besides him.

“So far this place is everything I could imagine that is close to paradise,” Amanda murred happily.

“No kidding. I'm just happy we;re all together. I don't think I could live with you by my side,” Aaron said softly.

Amanda leaned in and gave him a deep kiss, tongues lashing against each other.

“I'll always be by my boyfriend's side,” Amanda cooed.

Aaron smiled, tickling her chin making her giggle and tail wag happily. They passed another loft before hearing commotion behind it.

“What's going on back there?”

They headed to the back to see at six hybrids. A wolf was holding Roman from behind as a horse was pelting him with blows left and right.

“Sell us out huh?' the horse sneered throwing another punch that connected with a sick thud and a pained yowl from the cat.

“Hey whoa whoa,” Aaron shouted making all the hybrids look at him. “What's going on here?”

“Well sir, this little shit was going to sell us out,” the horse grumbled.

Aaron eyes went wide at that before looking at Roman who just looked down at the ground, ears folded.

“I think he learned his lesson. I'll handle it from here.”

“Yes sir,” they all said. The wolf holding Roman tossed him to the ground roughly.

Aaron watched them leave before looking back at Roman as he pulled his body to a sitting position, back against the wall.

“Is that true Roman?” Aaron asked softly.

Roman looked at him before back to the ground, nodding his head softly.

“Why?”

“I wanted Kaisl and my happiness back,” Roman said, wiping his nose of the blood that flowed down.

“But aren't you happy here?” Amanda asked.

“Yes I'm happy. But it doesn't mean anything without Kaisl by my side.”

“Who is Kaisl?”

“My human mate.”

Both their eyes widen at that. Aaron felt bad before walking over and kneeling down. Roman looked at him, tears in his eyes. Aaron pulled him close as Roman started to cry softly. After a few minutes, he calmed down enough for Aaron to pull him up and lead him back to the house. Hybrids he passed looked at him in disgust and anger.

“Let me get some ice for your eye,”Amanda said heading to the kitchen.

Jim came downstairs to see Roman's condition and put two and two together.

“I see it started. Figured it would.”

“You knew this would happen?” Aaron asked.

“Pretty much,” Jim shrugged before sitting in his recliner.

Amanda came back with some ice in a plastic bag. Roman winced at the contact but didn't shy away.

“Shouldn't we do something about this? He did it for a good reason.”

Jim took a quick sip of the scotch his was nursing before shaking his head.

“Nothing we can do. He has to earn their trust back. Us telling them otherwise will add more fuel on the fire. He brought this on himself so he has to fix it himself.”

Aaron frowned at that making Jim chuckle.

“But if you want to tell all the hybrids working and living here to back off a person willing to sell them out for a person in jail with no chance in hell of getting out, go right ahead. I'll be there to pick up the pieces. You are still new and have yet to gain some of their trust also.”

Aaron gritted his teeth. This wasn't right, but Jim did have a point.

“Don't worry sir,” Roman said softly. “If this is what it takes, I'll gladly endure it.”

“But you shouldn't have to. We're all here working together.”

“Thank you for your concern. But I brought this upon myself on a lie told to me,” Roman said getting up. “I'll finish my chores and go back to my bunk.”

They watched him leave as Jim turned his attention to the TV, switching through the channels before stopping on a game show. Aaron balled his fists before getting up himself, feeling his hand get grabbed.

“Where are you going?” Amanda asked.

“To help Roman anyway I can.”

“You couldn't handle a single teenager. What makes you think you have a chance against the hybrids working here?” Jim asked, eyes never leaving the TV..

“I don't know. But anything is better then nothing.”

Amanda let out a whine, watching him leave before looking at Jim.

“Can't you do something sir?”

“Nope. Like I said, they are going to have to earn their trust.”

Amanda whined but understood what he was saying.

Rose let out a sigh as she sat in the backyard, looking up at the clear blue sky. She could still see Ginger's smiling face as a single tear went down her cheek.

“I miss you Ginger,” she said softly.

“You okay?”

She looked back to see Gail standing there. She gave a soft nod before smiling weakly. Gail sat on the grass next to her, holding her hand which she squeezed and looked into the sky.

“I know what it's like to lose someone dear to you,” Gail said.

“Really?” Rose questioned.

Gail nodded before closing his eyes.

“I lost my father to an inconsiderate human. From what my mom told me, there was a bad flood in the town he was staying in. Streets were flooded with water and people lost everything.”

He opened his eyes which turned a little misty.

“His master's son couldn't make it out of the house in time so he went back in there to get him without being told to do so. He grew attached to them and wanted to help anyway he could. The water was moving fast so he had to expand a lot of energy just to reach him. When he did reach him, the kid was terrified and he said not to struggle when he carried him out.”

Gail let out a shaky sigh before continuing.

“The kid didn't listen one bit. He was scared, kicking and screaming. My dad expanded more energy trying to work with him. When he got to the parents, he was barely treading water and keeping both their heads above water. The parents grabbed their child and smothered him with love. My dad asked for help but they just looked at him before heading to higher ground, leaving my dad to his fate.”

He felt Rose hug him tightly.

“I'm so sorry for your lost Gail.”

“It's in the past. My dad lives on in me.”

Rose let out a purr as she nuzzled his neck.

“So strong for your age. No wonder you're so damn adorable.”

Gail chuckled at that before somebody cleared their throat behind them.

“Am I interrupting something?” Caroline said with a grin.

“No. I already got what I wanted,” Rose purred happily making Gail blush.

“Really? Well I want details girlfriend. But in the meantime, care to go for a walk?”

“Walk?” Rose asked confused.

“Yeah. There's a trail I walk some days that has an absolutely beautiful view. It'll help you forget all your troubles.”

“I'm in,” Gail said standing up before holding his hand out for Rose. “Come on. I'm sure this will cure your sadness.”

Rose smiled before accepting his hand and being pulled gently to her feet. With smiles, they all headed for the trail to leave their worries behind.

Ryudo sat in his office, paperwork scattered across his desk as he sped through them neatly and promptly, making sure every hybrid had the right treatment or medicine. He was going through another file when a knock was heard.

“Come in,” Ryudo said without looking up.

Kurt walked in as Ryudo looked up with a smile.

“Hey Kurt! What brings you by?”

Kurt took a seat, his face unreadable as Ryudo looked at him.

“Something wrong?”

Kurt looked at him before speaking.

“You need to be careful of Psi. That hybrid is dangerous and unpredictable. I had a chance to speak to him cause he came in and.......he scares me.”

Ryudo chuckled before leaning back in his chair and stretching.

“He seemed pretty normal to me.”

“He's beyond normal. He told me about the first time he took a life. And he enjoyed it.”

Ryudo crossed his arms before looking out the window.

“I kinda figured that out when I first met him. He had this vibe around him. Plus he looked at me with those menacing eyes.”

“I'm worried about you Ryudo. He asked about you.”

Ryudo chuckled at that.

“Seems like I got an admirer.”

“This is nothing to laugh at,” Kurt said sternly surprising Ryudo. “Just.....be careful please. And watch your back.”

Ryudo nodded his head before smiling.

“Thanks for the concern Kurt. But I should be okay. I do know how to defend myself.”

“Okay Ryudo. But remember that he is a chameleon and can sneak up on you without you even noticing,” Kurt said as he got up to leave.

Ryudo watched him before going back to his paperwork. His mind went back to first meeting the lizard hybrid. Those cold, unfeeling eyes meeting his. He never met a hybrid like that and doesn't want to again. But from what Kurt was telling him, looks like this Psi wants to know him better. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

“Meh, I figure it out later. Right now, it's time to head home and rest up,” he said, reading the clock which showed seven at night.

Saving his progress on the computer, he gathered the paperwork and stood up from his desk. Grabbing his jacket, he headed out his office and down the hall to the nurses station.

“Heading home Dr. Peterson?” a female Corgi asked.

“That I am Gloria. Here's the paperwork for the patients. If you need anything, my phone is always on.”

He handed her the folder as she looked at him with a blush on her cheeks.

“Is something wrong?” Ryudo asked.

“Well....I was......wondering if......I could.....hug you? You've done so much for us hybrids and I can't think of anything else.”

Ryudo chuckled before nodding his head.

“Sure. One hug, coming up.”

Gloria smiled as she closed the gap and gave him a hug, her tail wagging rapidly as a happy murr escaped her.

“Thanks for this Dr. Peterson.”

“Not a problem. You are cuddly though. I may have found a new teddy bear to keep,” Ryudo chuckled making her blush.

They separated as Ryudo tickled her chin making her giggle before heading to the elevator for the lobby. Reaching it, he headed to his car and got in with a sigh. It's been a busy day with businesses wanting their hybrids to undergo inspection. Surprisingly almost all of them passed. He guessed businesses must be getting tired of paying hospital fees. Serves them right. Starting the car it, he put it in gear before heading home, his stomach gurgling in anger for food.

“Guess I should grab a bite to eat.”

He stopped at a diner and got out, the smell of burgers and fries floating in the air and assaulting his nose. The front door opened as the bell rang. People looked his way before going back to what they were doing. Finding a seat, a waiter walked over and gave him a menu.

“Welcome to Rally's Diner. Our special for today is fish and chips.”

“Cool. I'll take that with a large sweet ice tea,” Ryudo replied.

“Coming right up.”

Ryudo sat for a minute, humming a tune as the waiter came back with his drink. He took a sip of the tasty beverage before his phone rang. Grabbing it, he look at the ID not recognizing the name.

“Hello?”

Ryudo Peterson?”

“Maybe.”

Don't play games boy. Listen good, you are being marked.”

Ryudo raised an eyebrow at that before letting the person continue.

You've pissed off a lot of high paying businesses and they want you out of the picture for good.”

“You don't say,” Ryudo said, nodding his head as the waiter brought his food out.

If I were you, I would hide low for a long time.”

“Well you aren't me and I don't hide.”

Suit yourself. Don't say I didn't warn you. My advice if you want it, drop this hybrid doctor business and go back to mommy and daddy.”

The phone went dead as Ryudo pocketed it.

“Again with the death threats. When are they going to learn it won't work. No matter, I'm hungry and this smells great.”

///////

A beep caught Psi attention as he looked at the tablet on the bed. Reading the message, he gave a sinister smile before getting up. This is why he loved being a cleaner. Grabbing what he needed into a bag, he headed out the motel room and waited. A few minutes later, a car pulled up as he got into the back.

“Does he want the person dead or taught a lesson?” Psi asked calmly.

“Just taught a lesson sir,” the badger driver said, putting the car into gear.

Psi closed his eyes and leaned back into the seat, his mind wondering.

“_ Another victory for the Invisible Assassin, Psi. Give him a round of applause,” the announcer said._

The crowd went crazy as Psi stood over the broken body of the rhino. He proved to be the toughest Psi has faced, but he was taken out like the rest of the maggots. He walked to the back getting cheers from the crowd as he entered the door to see a man sitting there in a nice suit and a cigar in one hand.

Nice match out there. You are quite talented.”

Psi looked at him before heading to the bathroom and washing the blood off his face and hands. Coming out, he sat on the bench counting the money he won.

So what the hell do you want?” Psi questioned, not even looking at him.

The man smiled before taking a drag of his cigar and blowing the smoke in the air.

I've come to make you a very generous offer.”

If you want me to shove that cigar up your ass, I'd be more then happy to.”

The man chuckled before leaning back on the chair he was sitting in and kicking his feet up on the table.

I like you. You have a feisty attitude. You would work perfectly in my corporation.”

Not interested. Now get out,” Psi said, glaring at him.

You like killing don't you?”

Psi studied him before crossing his arms over his chest.

What about it?”

Suppose you could go from killing every week to everyday?”

Who are you anyway? And why come to me?”

My name is Edward Syzman, president and CEO of Patheon.”

Psi looked at him unimpressed.

So your the head boss of the hybrid trade market huh? And what do you want with me?”

Your last owner said you were a trouble maker and disrespectful.”

What about it?”

I would like to have you on my team.”

Psi laughed at that before giving him a sneer.

This coming from the man who sees us as nothing but slaves and worthless nobodies?”

Syzman gave a chuckle at that before putting his legs down and leaning forward.

Yes, most of your hybrid brethren are worthless. But you are different. You have the ability to do so much more. Just think, the ability to not only kill hybrids, but humans as well.”

That caught Psi's attention. He never got a chance to kill a human before. If a hybrid did attempt to kill one, it meant automatic death.

I would be killed instantly if I tried.”

Not with me you wouldn't. You would have free reign. You can have sex with any hybrid or human you want and do anything you please.”

Psi closed his eyes and considered his options. One, he could keep fighting in this shit hole and live off the winnings he got, if he survived. Or two, he could work with this Syzman character and live the life of a human. Worse comes to worse, if he tried to double cross him, he wouldn't live long enough to gloat about it.

Alright, how is this going to work?” Psi asked.

Simple. You leave with me and nobody will question anything.”

Psi took a minute to think about it before looking at him.

All right, deal.”

Syzman gave a smile before standing up.

Excellent. Now, let's go to your new home.”

Before we go, do I have to wear a stupid collar?”

Nope.”

Good. Let's go.”

“Excuse me sir, we've arrived.”

Psi looked at his surroundings, taking in everything.

“Drive around the block and let me out.”

The badger pulled around the block as Psi got out.

“Shall I wait for you sir?”

“No need. Go back and pick me up in about three hours.”

The badger nodded before pulling off, leaving Psi there. It was a quaint neighborhood that the target lived in. Nice homes everywhere with a few corner stores here and there. He took a seat on a park bench, placing the bag on the gravel sidewalk. The target came home in an hour so he had time to kill. A cop car noticed him without a collar, pulling to a stop on the corner as two cops, a skinny one and a medium size one, got out and confronted him.

“Hey scum, where's your collar and master at?” the skinny one said.

“I don't need either,” Psi replied dryly.

“A wise ass huh? We know how to deal with you,” the other cop said.

Psi looked at them with a really face.

“I need to focus so can you leave me alone before I break you both?”

“Is that a threat you hybrid freak? We can kill you now and say it was self defense,” the skinny one said with a smile, pulling out an extendable baton.

“You can try,” Psi smiled evilly.

The skinny one advanced on him, baton in hand as he took a swing. Psi countered quickly with an expert arm drag, slamming the cop on the metal bench he was sitting on. The other cop went for his gun and pulled it out, trying for a shot. Psi was quicker as he grabbed the gun barrel and with quick fingers, dismantled the slide of the barrel which shocked the cop. Still in his motion, he struck him in the throat making him gag and go to one knee before giving him a vicious kick to the side of the head.

“Pathetic. Humans really are sad creatures,” Psi spat.

He walked over to his bag, digging in it before pulling out a gold medallion that had the letters ES inscribed in the middle.

“See this? This says I don't abide by your stupid hybrid laws.”

Their eyes went wide seeing the letters inscribed.

“We're sorry. We didn't know. Don't tell on us, please?” the medium sized one said.

“Get out of my sight.”

They nodded, hobbling to the car before taking off. Psi grunted before taking a seat. That was a waste of fifteen minutes. He closed his eyes, letting the sun warm his scales. Time passed quickly until he opened his eyes, seeing it was night.

“Time to go to work.”

He smiled before standing up, grabbing his bad and heading to the target's house. The lights were on as he saw a shadow go from room to room. Walking up the wooden stairs to the front door, he rang the bell before going transparent. A few moments later, a tall man opened the door and looked out.

“Hello? You damn kids need to stop playing so much.”

The man turned around to head back inside. He let out a gasp as a needle was jobbed into his neck and fluid pushed in. He jumped in shock, holding his neck and looking behind him to see nothing. His head got fuzzy quick as he slumped to the ground, eyes closing. Psi grinned before picking him up and heading inside.

“Wakey wakey,” Psi said, slapping his face.

The man let out a groan, eyes coming back into focus. He tried to move but that was futile. Speaking wouldn't work either as something was covering his mouth.

“Have a good nap Pete?”

Pete looked around, still feeling the effect of whatever he was injected it. Looking around, he noticed he was in his garage, restrained to a chair by duct tape. His left leg was leveled and resting on something cold. His eyes went wide seeing it was wedged between his vice grip.

“You have a pretty good workshop in your garage Pete. I didn't even have to go into my bag.”

Pete turned his head to the sound of the voice to see Psi leaning on the garage door, apple in his hand as he took a bite.

“You've been a bad boy Petey. Can I call you Petey? Don't care if you mind or not.”

Psi pulled up a chair and sat in it, his tail moving lazily behind him.

“You know why I'm here Petey, don't you?”

Pete shook his head no.

“Let me show you.”

He reached into his bag, pulling out his tablet before pressing the screen a few times. Once done, he turned the screen around to show Pete talking to other people at a restaurant.

“That's you. And those people you are with, are Syzman's enemies. You know better then that.”

He scrolled through a few more pictures over and showed him another. This one showed him accepting an envelope and giving the other person a handshake.

“What was in the envelope that was given to you?”

Pete gave him a glare making Psi smile.

“I love when they act tough. Makes my job so much fun.”

Getting up, he went to the vice grip and started to tighten it. Pete didn't feel anything yet, but when he did he started to let out a muffled cry of protest. The grip tightened on his leg, squeezing the muscle and bone. Once the pressure got too much, he let out a loud, muffled scream.

“Ohh, I love the sound of that. Makes me horny.”

He gave another twist as Pete screamed, seeing his bone almost pushing out of his skin.

“Again, what was in the envelope?”

Pete was unresponsive, breathing hard with a few tears coming down his face. Psi shrugged his shoulders before putting more pressure on the vice making Pete scream as they could hear his tibia starting to give.

“A couple more twists and you won't have a leg to stand on. Ha, listen to me make a funny.”

Pete was crying fully now. The pain was immense. Psi walked over and sat on Pete's knee making him scream.

“Tell you what, you tell me what was in the envelope, and I'll keep quiet about the female otter you're fucking.”

Pete's head shot up at that making Psi roll his eyes.

“I'm a hybrid you jack ass. I may not have the great smell of a canine, but I can taste the air around me. You must've fucked her good last night.”

Pete was mortified. If anybody found out about him and Charlotte......god, he shuddered just thinking about it.

“Fine, have it your way. While you're in the hospital and then jail, I'll be taking care of your female friend.”

He was about to twist again when Pete shook his head frantically.

“You ready to talk?”

Pete nodded yes. Psi walked over and grabbed hold of the duct tape covering his mouth and ripped it off.

“What was in the envelope?”

“A way to blackmail Syzman. He's getting to powerful and people want him out.”

“Where is it?”

“In my car on the sun visor.”

Psi walked over to the car and opened the door, lowering the visor as a envelope fell onto the seat. He grabbed the envelope and read the letter before putting it back and walking over, sitting back down with a smile and tapping the envelope a few times on his leg.

“Now was that so hard Pete?”

“So what now?”

Just as he said that, Psi's phone rang. Reaching into his bag, he opened the flip phone and spoke.

“Yes? I have it. What do I do with him? As you wish.”

He closed the phone, tossing it back in the bag and smiled.

“Lucky you. You get to live.”

Pete breathed a sigh of relief at that.

“But not without a penalty.”

Psi duct tape him again before twisting the vice grip all the way, each them hearing the sickening crack of the bone as Pete screamed in agony, seeing the broken bone sticking out of the skin as blood leaked out onto the ground below. Psi grabbed his bag and headed for the door, cutting the tape from Pete's arms as he clutched his leg.

“If I have to come back here, your otter is next.”

Ryudo sat on the couch, mudslide in hand as he watched the flickering embers of the fire in the fireplace. So now it was his turn huh? And they sent a chameleon to do the job. Great choice of an assassin.

“Life doesn't get any better then this huh?” Ryudo said sarcastically.

He let out a sigh before taking a swig of the chocolate goodness in the bottle. He couldn't let Gail or Shelley get caught up in this. He already lost Justin. He'll be damned if he lost them as well, Gail especially. The front door opened and closed as the sound of chuckling could be heard.

“Thanks for this Gail. I needed that,” Rose said with a purr.

“Not a problem Rose. I said you'd enjoy it,” Gail smiled back.

“I'm going to grab a quick shower and hit the sack. Have a good night,” Rose said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

“You too.”

Rose walked upstairs, tail wagging happily as Gail watched it. His nose twitched as he picked up Ryudo's scent in the living room. He walked in and saw him sitting on the couch, drink in hand and staring at the fire. Gail folded his ears and walked over before sitting next to him.

“Ryudo, are you okay?” he asked softly.

Ryudo diverted his eyes to Gail briefly before looking at the fire again.

“I may have to send you and your mother to Connor's or Blake's house to stay for a bit.”

“Why?” Gail asked, head tilted.

“Somebody's coming after me. And I don't want you two involved.”

Gail gasped at that.

“Even more reason for me to stay with you.”

“Remember what happened to Ginger? These people will stop at nothing to get what they want.”

“But.....”

“Gail.....please don't argue with me on this.”

Gail could see he was trying to keep his emotions in check. This was a hard decision for him to make. He was looking out for not only him, but his mother as well. Gail grabbed the drink out of his hand before sliding into Ryudo's lap. He cupped his cheek, lifting his face to stare into his eyes. Ryudo looked into those gold eyes, the fire making them sparkle a little.

“I don't want to lose you Ryudo. You mean everything to not only me, but my mom as well. I want to help the best I can.”

“I don't want anything to happen to you. I already lost Justin. I don't want to lose you also.”

Gail gave a loving smile before leaning down and kissing him softly.

“You'll never lose me. I'll always be by your side good or bad, like a true mate should.”

Ryudo couldn't help but smile at that. He leaned up and gave him another kiss, their tongues intertwining slowly and lovingly. Ryudo broke off slowly, tickling Gail's ears making him murr happily.

“I guess you're right. But promise me no heroics. If I say something, you do it. Promise?”

“I promise.”

Ryudo laid on the couch, holding Gail close to him, rubbing his stomach softly earning a moan of delight, feeling his tail go up under his shirt and tickle his chest. His hand trailed lower, slipping inside his shorts and grasping his sheath earning a whimper. It expanded in his grasp, the black tip poking out which Ryudo pinched lightly making Gail buck his hips.

Ryudo buried his face in the crook of Gail's neck, smelling the nice earthly scent he was so fond of. His hand never left that fuzzy pouch, coaxing his lover's cock to full mast in a matter of seconds. Grabbing it softly earned a gasp that was followed by a moan as he stroked him softly up and down.

“That feels good,” Gail moaned softly.

Ryudo smiled, biting Gail's neck softly making him yip and fold his ears. He wanted better access to that hyena cock, so he lowered the bothersome shorts to expose it as it throbbed in his grasp, pre coating the shaft making it glisten in the fire light. Gail reached a paw back, grasping Ryudo's penis through his shorts making him shiver.

“No fair. I can't be the only one without pants. I thought you liked my pads?”

“I can fix that for you stripy.”

Ryudo squirmed around on the couch, lowering his shorts down to his knees as his cock sprang free. Gail grasped it softly making Ryudo shudder.

“God damn those pads. Those things should be illegal,” Ryudo panted into Gail's ear.

Gail chuckled but moaned feeling attention on his cock. Soon Gail couldn't take it anymore and guided him to his passage, shivering as he felt his lover's mushroom head press into him.

“Don't you want me to prepare?” Ryudo asked.

“No. I have to have you now. I know you'll be gentle. Just take me.”

Ryudo nodded in his neck fur before pushing into his hybrid mate. Gail let out a gasp, feeling his hole open up. It was a little unpleasant, but it would be so worth it. He felt that familiar warmth course through him as his lover pushed into him. Soon Ryudo's hips flushed with Gail's as they both sighed happily.

“I'll never get tired of this feeling,” Gail panted happily.

“Me and you both stripy.”

He stood still for a few seconds, letting Gail get adjusted before pulling back slowly. Gail let out a murr, loving the slow, gentleness Ryudo was showing. Ryudo pushed back in, letting out a groan feeling Gail tighten up on him increasing both their pleasure. Soon he had a good rhythm going as his pre lubed up the tunnel making it easier to go faster. Gail whimpered in pleasure feeling his prostate getting jabbed with each push.

“Oh god Ryudo.”

Ryudo grinned before lifting his leg and brought it up and around his waist, allowing for deeper thrusts. Gail pushed back to the best of his ability, wanting to feel everything. He brought his paw down to pleasure himself but Ryudo beat him to it.

“Just leave everything to me stripy. You just relax and enjoy the pleasure.”

Gail could do nothing but moan, feeling the double assault on his body. This mating seemed more special as Ryudo brought them closer and closer to their peak.

“I'm.....getting close.....Ryudo,” Gail panted, pushing his hips in time with Ryudo's strokes.

“Let yourself......go stripy.”

Gail felt his balls pull into his body, signaling the inevitable. He tried to hold back but Ryudo wouldn't let him. He hilted himself fully and reached his other hand around, cradling and squeezing his balls while working his cock faster.

“Fuck,” Gail yelp, eyes closing tightly.

His cock throbbed angrily before releasing his cum onto the rug below. Every squirt Ryudo felt as he milked his cock to completion. Gail panted hard, tongue hanging out as he opened his eyes. He reached a paw around and caressed Ryudo's cheek before turning his head and giving it a lick.

“Mmm, so good.”

“That was hot stripy. I love watching you cum. You look so cute with your ears folded and muzzle scrunched in ecstasy.”

Gail blushed before chuckling.

“How about you finish lover? I love feeling you in me.”

“My pleasure stripy,” Ryudo smiled, leaning over as they kiss softly.

Ryudo resumed his pace, going fast then slow. He built himself up to a point where he was going to release, only to slow down and let it go away. Gail let out a growl, feeling the rhythm he was doing and wanting to feel that hot load coat his insides.

“Stop denying......me Ryudo. Let me....feel it.”

He clenched down hard, making Ryudo groan. Two can play that game Ryudo thought as he brought his hand back around to that throbbing hyena cock and grasp it again. Gail whimper, feeling his sensitive cock get worked on again.

“Who's going to cum first.....me or you stripy?” Ryudo huffed pushing faster into that tight tunnel.

Gail bared his teeth, claws digging into the upholstery of the couch. The pleasure was again getting to be too much. He whined helplessly, knowing he was going to cum again. Ryudo's ragged breathing reached his ears making him grin. He took a deep breath before bearing down as hard as he could. That make Ryudo yell in pleasure as he pushed as deep as he could go before unloading into his tunnel. Gail murred in triumph before letting out a yip as he came again, making the puddle on the floor bigger. Sighs of happiness escaped both of them as they relaxed. The smell of their activity filled the living room to capacity but they didn't care at all. Even if somebody would to look in the window and see them together, wouldn't make a difference to them.

“I'll never let anything happen to you Gail. I promise,” Ryudo said softly, holding him close to his body.

Gail whined happily, pushing his body as close to his mate as possible.

“I know Ryudo,” Gail replied softly before chuckling. “That's quite the mess I made of the rug. I hope it comes out good.”

“Don't worry about it. I have plenty of cleaner for that kind of stuff,” Ryudo smiled.

With that said, they both drifted off into a perfect slumber.

Roman let out a grunt of pain as he put another hay pile on the truck. Last night pretty much sucked royally. All the other hybrids pretty much ganked him. They held him down by the blanket he was sleeping under and pelted him repeatedly with towels. That would've been fine if they didn't have stuff wrapped up in them. Each hit on his chest felt like rocks.

“Hey Roman.”

Roman turned to see Aaron walking up to him.

“Hey,” Roman said softly, holding his chest with each breath he took.

“What happened? Are you okay?”

“They had a field day taking turns and hitting my body with towels filled with god knows what.”

Aaron frowned, looking around at the hybrids that just sneered at both of them.

“This has to stop. You made an honest mistake.”

“A mistake that would've cost everybody here their home. They have all right to be angry at me.”

“I'll help you the best I can.”

Roman shook his head before sighing.

“Jim is right and you know it. I have to do this by myself.”

Aaron wanted to argue when a car pulled up the driveway, heading to the main house as the hybrids looked at it. A nicely dressed lady stepped out followed by a man in a suit. Aaron watched them as they walked up the stairs and knocked on the door.

“I wonder who they are?” Aaron questioned.

Roman knew who the lady was cause she was the one who brought him here. Amanda opened the door as she gave a cheerful smile.

“Good afternoon. What can I do for you?”

“We would like to speak to Jim Davenport,”the lady said.

Jim was right behind Amanda as he looked at them.

“What can I do for you?”

“Good afternoon Mr. Davenport. We dropped off a feline hybrid by the name of Roman here a couple days ago. We would like to have a word with him,” the lady spoke up.

“May I ask why?”

“We just want to know how he's fairing here. Is that so wrong?” the lady asked with a wicked smile.

Jim looked at her before pointing behind her.

“He's loading the truck at the moment. Be brief so he can finish his chores.”

“Of course.”

They headed up towards Roman as a weasel walked up behind him.

“You sell us out, and you'll never hide from us. We'll track you down and do the worst thing imaginable.”

The woman walked up to Roman and smiled.

“Hey Roman, remember me?”

“Yes ma'am.”

“Good. Come with me. Somebody wants to speak with you.”

“Yes ma'am.”

They walked towards the car before the man opened the door, letting Roman go in first followed by the lady. She opened her tablet before hitting a few buttons, allowing video calling as Syzman was shown on the screen.

Roman, so nice to see you again. I hope you are doing well?”

“Yes sir.”

Excellent. Now, you have something to report to me? You've been there long enough to find something I hope?”

Roman was quiet. What would he tell him? Would he tell him the truth and make all the hybrids, Aaron, and Jim lose their home? Or would he lie and continue living here?

“Are you getting Kaisl out of jail sir? We had a deal.”

Are you giving me an order you fucking flea bag? Who do you think you are?”

“I just asked a question sir. But it was you who made the deal with me. I find out what's going on here, and in exchange, you get Kaisl out of jail.”

Syzman gritted his teeth. He didn't expect this hybrid to counter him.

I'm working on it. It's a lot harder then you think when he has those kinds of charges against him.”

“Same here. There are too many hybrids to go snooping around. Even at night.”

So you're saying you have nothing to report?”

“That is correct sir.”

Syzman sucked his teeth before nodding.

Very well. I'll be in contact with you again in a few days. By then, you should have found something out.”

“Is it possible to speak to Kaisl? I want to know he's still alive.”

I'll see what I can do. No promises.”

“That's all I ask.”

Syzman nodded before looking at the lady. The lady nodded before turning to Roman.

“That's all we needed from you. Get out.”

Roman nodded before getting out the car. Syzman let out a grunt of anger as the lady looked at him.

That fucking hybrid doesn't know me very well.”

“What do you want to do sir?”

Syzman drummed his finger on the desk before shrugging.

Give him what he wants. He knows something but won't tell until he hears from his gay fucker. I'll try and setup something so they can speak to each other. Head back here and I'll fill you in.”

“Yes sir. Driver, lets go.”

All the hybrids watched the car leave before converging on Roman. Roman stood his ground as a horse lifted him with ease by his collar. Aaron tried to rush in to stop but Roman caught his eye as he shook his head no.

“You sold us out didn't you, you little shit?”

“No, I didn't.”

“Liar,” the horse snorted before punching him to the ground.

Roman held his nose as blood started to trickle out. He stood up before looking at the horse.

“Whether you believe me or not. I did not sell you out.”

“Then why come here in the first place?” a lab asked.

Roman was quiet before telling them the truth.

“I did it to get my human master and mate out of jail. The man who sent me, promised me he would get Kaisl out of jail if I reported anything that was going on here.”

He brought his head down before continuing.

“I was happy with Kaisl by my side. I thought nothing would tear us away, until they came in the middle of the night for no reason. When that man came to me with that promise, I wanted nothing more then to have Kaisl and my happiness back.”

He looked up at the horse and everybody around him.

“But after spending time with all of you, I realized that I was being selfish. I saw all your happy faces and wanted that same happiness. I don't expect you to forgive me, but all I'm asking for is another chance to gain your trust.”

Everybody was quiet as they looked at each other. The horse gave a snort before walking up to him. Roman expected another hit, but the horse patted his shoulder and gave the smallest of smiles.

“That's a start. Let's get back to work.”

Everybody left leaving Roman and Aaron standing there. Aaron walked up to him as Roman sighed.

“You okay?” Aaron asked.

“Yeah. I'm going to get back to work.”

Roman left as Aaron watched him. Jim came up and chuckled having heard the whole thing.

“Looks like things have calmed down somewhat.”

“To a point. But those people are going to come back,” Aaron said looking at Jim.

“True. But they'll get the same response from Roman. He's learning the truth the hard way. The faster he does, the easier time he'll have. Have you done your rounds?”

“Not yet.”

“Then what are you standing around for?” Jim said before heading back to the house.

Blake sat at his desk, filing paperwork and making sure all the hybrids had the correct medicine to get better. A knock on his door made him look up to see his assistant, a cute ferret by the name of Monica.

“Hey Monica, what's up?”

“Hey Blake. FedEx is here with a delivery you need to sign for.”

“Great. That must be the shipment of Amoxicillin and Dioxin I need. We were running short,” Blake said getting up.

She followed him to the front where a man was scanning boxes.

“You the head guy here in charge?” the young man asked.

“Yep.”

“Sign here please.”

Blake signed the electronic power pad as he saw the man shake his head.

“Something wrong?”

“Yeah, this hospital.”

“What's wrong with it?”

“Everything. Hybrids shouldn't have the luxury of a human in getting medical attention. They should just crawl in a hole and die.”

Blake handed him back the device before checking the boxes, ignoring the man's comments as he looked at him.

“What do you get for helping these things?”

“The ability to sleep at night with a clear conscious knowing I made a difference in a hybrid's life and helping them live another day.”

“You get paid for doing this?”

Blake stood up after checking everything before looking at him.

“How old are you?” Blake asked.

“Twenty one.”

“And how much do you make at FedEx?”

“Fifteen fifty and doing good if I say so myself.”

Blake grinned at that.

“I'm twenty four, got three certificates in pharmaceutical medicine, hybrid diseases and medicine. I make thirty an hour and having a great time. What about you? What have you done with your life lately to try and belittle people?”

The man gave him an evil eye before leaving, mumbling under his breath. Monica chuckled at that.

“That's telling him.”

“Sometimes you have to bring them down a level. Here's the list the hybrids that need their medicine.”

“Right away. Are we still on for that diner date?”

“Absolutely. I'm sure Caroline wouldn't mind the extra company.”

Monica smiled, giving Blake a hug before doing her duties. Blake filed away the rest before heading back to his office. Once he walked in, he saw Psi sitting on the chair.

“Oh, I didn't see you come past me. What can I do for you?”

Psi looked at him before smiling.

“You know Ryudo Peterson?”

“Sure do,” Blake said taking a seat. “Care for some water?” he asked, digging into the small fridge beside his desk.

“Sure.”

Blake handed him one as they twisted the top and took a swig.

“What can you tell me about him?”

“Hmm, well he's a great guy. We both studied hard to get where we're at. Him more then me. But we both love to help hybrids live the best life possible.”

“Do you think he could've chosen another profession?”

Blake chuckled at that.

“His parents tried and he shot them down. They are almost millionaires with their company. But his heart and soul belongs to helping hybrids.”

“I see,” Psi said closing his eyes. “How long have you've known him?”

“Since middle school. We're almost like brothers even though we're not related.”

“He really cares about hybrids that much?”

“Oh yeah. We even went as far as to go to a hybrid farm and got a hybrid that was sick and brought her back to his house to help cure her of her sickness.”

Psi raised an eyebrow at that.

“So you broke several laws to save a sick hybrid? That's.......reckless behavior.”

Blake looked at him in confusion.

“Why is that reckless?”

“Because its just another hybrid amongst the masses. What was so special about that one?”

“It was somebody's mother. Have you got no sympathy for other people?”

“Nope. If I did, I would fail doing what I do. Don't lump me with them. It's an insult.”

“I see.”

Psi took another swig before standing up. He heard all he needed to know about his target.

“Thanks for the info. I'm sure you'll be seeing me again pretty soon.”

Blake watched him leave before shrugging his shoulders.

“Well that was weird.”

//////

Kelley watched from the window as they drove down his childhood streets.

“Boy, this place bring back memories.”

“Good ones?” Trevor asked.

“Meh, could've been better but I'm still here regardless.”

“So who is this person you need to see?” Issac asked stopping at a stop sign.

Kelley smiled before chuckling.

“A good friend that can help me during this testing time.”

Issac took another turn before puling up to a gated house. Kelley got out and pushed the buzzer, waiting a few moments before a voice spoke up.

What do you want?”

“Calvin, it's me Kelley.”

If you're here, that means you're in trouble correct?”

“You make it sound so personal,” Kelley chuckled.

Calvin grunted as the gates opened. Kelley got back in as they drove up to a nice house. The driveway circled around a water fountain as they pulled to a stop and got out.

“Back here,” Calvin said.

They followed the cobble path way, under a flower arch to a large patio. A middle aged man was sitting at a table, drink on a coaster as he was reading a book. Two large dobermens were behind him, ears at attention as they watched Kelley and company.

“Congressman Kelley Gold. How can I be of service to you again? Even though you never bother to call or text me.”

“You know I'm a busy man. I'm in Congress after all,” Kelley said with a smile, grabbing a seat.

Calvin looked at Issac and Trevor before raising an eyebrow.

“I know you're all about hybrid rights, but I didn't think you swung that way.”

Kelley laughed at that before shaking his head.

“No no, these are my bodyguards. After what happened to my daughter and Lily, I don't want to take chances.”

“What happened?”

“Somebody tried to either kidnap them or kill them. And I want to find out who.”

“So you've come to me?” Calvin smiled reaching for his drink.

“You have all the connections Calvin.”

Calvin chuckled before leaning back in his chair.

“And what do I get out of helping you again?”

“The ability to let hybrids live in peace. I have the supporters needed to bypass Congress. All I have to do is wait for the president to come back and he signs it.”

Calvin clapped at that, impressed he actually got the supporters.

“Impressive. Once again, you beat all the odds and proved me wrong again. Very well, what do you need from me?”

“Who would hurt the most from the president signing the bill?”

“There's only one company that would suffer the most, Patheon. That company is run by Edward Syzman.”

“Syzman huh? What a great person to be up against.”

Calvin nodded his head before his tone got serious.

“He didn't get to where he's at by dumb luck. He can blackmail and bribe with the best of him. He's even got a personal bodyguard he found in an underground fighting arena. Don't know who he is, but as soon as he got him, all his competitors seem to drop out of the hybrid business one by one.”

“A hybrid bodyguard huh? Should I be worried?”

Calvin's green eyes looked at him before at one of his doberman.

“Alex here had the pleasure of meeting him. Didn't come out on the winning edge since he couldn't see him. Lost a lot of blood and almost died.”

“That's horrible,” Kelley said disgusted.

“Welcome to the business world. Its a dog eat dog world, no offense to you guys,” Calvin said with a smile.

“I see. Guess I better be ready for anything. Thanks a lot Calvin,” Kelley said standing up.

Calvin nodded before finishing his drink.

“If I were you, hide out someplace nobody would think of and stay there until the big dog is back. Going out in public like this, is a bad idea.”

“Duly noted,” Kelley said as they left.

///////

Blake chuckled as he locked up the pharmacy for the night.

“So, you ready for a good dinner date?”

“Indeed. Maybe even more if lucky,” Monica smiled.

“What about your master?”

“She doesn't mind me being a little late. I have a key to get in if needed.”

Blake nodded as they headed for the lobby. They saw Ryudo and Derrick there talking to some ambulance drivers.

“What was his condition when you got here?” Ryudo asked.

“Loss a lot of blood and had to be brought back. He's barely holding on.”

“Okay, take him down to ER one. I'll be right there. Have Paula set up everything.”

“You got it.”

Ryudo grunted before looking at Derrick.

“Head on home Derrick. I can handle this.”

“You sure?” Derrick questioned. “I can stay and help if you need.”

“Nah, its all good. Go home and take care of Donna.”

Derrick nodded, giving a two finger salute before leaving. Blake walked up as Ryudo smiled.

“Guess dinner is on hold huh?”

“Sorry man.”

“Don't apologize. Do what you need to. We game for another day?”

“You know it. Say hi to Caroline for me.”

Blake nodded as he and Monica left. They reached his car as Blake held the door open for her getting a giggle. Starting it up, he headed home with idle chatter between the two. Arriving at his home, he pulled next to his parents car and got out.

“Just remember, be yourself around them. No sir or ma'am. They hate that.”

“Okay.”

“I'm home mom,” Blake said walking in and taking his shoes off. “I brought that extra guest for dinner.”

A middle aged woman walked out the kitchen and smiled.

“Welcome. Make yourself at home,” she said with a motherly voice that was kind and soft.

“Thank you,” Monica said with a smile. “Beautiful home you have here.”

“Thank you. Took a bit to fix up, but it was worth it. Hope you like Shepard's Pie?” Blake's mom said walking back into the kitchen.

Blake walked into the living to see his father reading the paper as Caroline was watching TV.

“Welcome home son. How you liking your job?”

“I love it. I get to do what I love and make money doing it.”

“That's what I like to here. Is that the guest behind you?”

“Monica sir,” she said bowing her head. “Thank you for having me.”

Blake's father nodded as he turned his attention back to the paper.

“Okay. Just get yourself cleaned up in the bathroom upstairs.”

She nodded as Blake lead her upstairs to the bathroom.

“Just wash your paws and face. Caroline will be up in a moment to brush you down. I should have clothes to fit you.”

“Okay.”

Blake smiled as he went to his room and took a seat. Caroline skipped in before pouncing him on the bed and kissing him. He squeezed her rear making her growl and grind into him.

“We having an extra body to the party?”

“Horny girl,” Blake chuckled. “She's just a co-worker and it's only dinner. Besides, I don't want to share you with anyone.”

She gave a sexy growl at that, kissing him again before breaking off.

“Glad to know I belong to you. Let me head in there and make her pretty.”

Her tail wagged happily before disappearing around the corner. Blake smiled as he changed into his night clothes which consisted of checkered sweat pants and a tank top. He went downstairs to see the table set.

“How you liking your job Blake?” his mom asked, setting out utensils.

“Its so much fun. I'm glad Ryudo got me in.”

“You two were always close,” she chuckled. “Almost like he's our second son.”

Caroline and Monica entered, looking beautiful making Blake do a double take.

“Wow Monica, you look beautiful.”

“Thank you,” she said with a blush.

“Alright, lets eat,” his mom said.

They all took a seat, eating and chuckling away. A shadowy figured watched in the darkness before smiling and leaving without a sound.

Kaisl sat in his cell during his free time. He didn't go out there where that asshole Riktor was. He had so many close calls that he didn't want to press his luck. Hell, even the guards were against him. Is it so wrong to love somebody that's a different species? A bang on the cell door got his attention making him jump.

“Hey dog lover, you have a visitor. Let's go.”

This confused Kaisl but he got up and followed the guard out. He could feel the stares as he walked along side the guard down the hall to the security gate. It buzzed open as they walked towards a closed door. The guard opened the door as Kaisl saw a man dressed in a nice business suit sitting at the table with a briefcase. His brown eyes looked up before standing.

“Mr. Blume?”

“Y....yes, that's me.”

“Please have a seat.”

Kaisl nodded before taking a seat as the guard closed the door leaving them alone.

“Mr. Blume, I'm an attorney representing Edward Syzman. I'm here to do your appeal.”

“Really?”

“I wouldn't waste my time otherwise. This case is going to be hard since several cops saw you in the act. But I have ways of sweet talking.”

The man opened his suitcase and pulled out a tablet. Tapping a few buttons, the monitor came to life.

“I have him here. Are we ready?”

The man nodded before handing Kaisl the tablet. Kaisl looked confused before looking at the screen.

“ROMAN!!!”

KAISL!!”

Tears came to his eyes to see his lover in good health.

“Oh god Roman, I miss you so much.”

So do I Kaisl. I wish this never happened.”

“You look good though. Are you being taken care of?”

Yes. I'm on the Davenport farm. It's great here. Would be better if you were with me.”

A voice made Roman look to the left before nodding.

I have to go do my chores. I'm so glad to speak to you Kaisl and know that your still alive.”

“Take care Roman. I'll be thinking about you always.”

The man grabbed the tablet before shuffling through some papers.

“Alright, lets get down to business.”

On the other side, Roman had tears in his eyes.

Alright, you got what you wanted,” Syzman said on the tablet. “Now tell me what you know.”

Roman wiped his eyes. He got to talk to his love after what felt like years. But now comes the dilemma. Does he tell the truth, or continue the lie?”

“I'm sorry sir. But I need more time. Its a big farm with lots of silos. I can only search for so long before they get suspicious. If you want me to finish my task here, I can't rush sir.”

At least your trying to succeed. But if I find out differently......well, you don't want to know. Just don't screw with me cat. I want results.”

Ryudo let out a sigh as he sat at his desk. Last night was crazy trying to keep the squirrel hybrid alive after he cut his leg right near the artery. He reached for his cup and took a swig of the smoothie that Michelle made for him. He was beginning to love her mixtures. A knock on his door caught his attention as he looked up to see Monica.

“Hey Monica. What can I do for you?”

“Sorry to disturb you Dr. Peterson, but have you seen Blake? He hasn't shown up and the pharmacy is still locked.”

“Really? That's weird. Usually Blake's always early. I'll come open it for you.”

Ryudo got up and headed down to the first floor where the pharmacy was to see people waiting in line.

“Sorry for the delay folks,” he said opening the door and getting behind the counter.

He and Monica helped the customers and patients get their prescriptions quickly. Once they were done, Ryudo crossed his arms in confusion.

“This isn't like Blake to no show. Usually he'll call.”

“He was fine when I left there last night. He even told me he'd see me tomorrow,” Monica replied.

“I'll give him a call when I get back to my office. Are you going to be okay by yourself?”

“Oh yeah. Blake taught me good. Plus I have Jeff here also,” she smiled pointing to the the fox who waved.

Ryudo waved back before nodding his head.

“If you need anything, don't hesitate to call.”

“Okay Dr. Peterson.”

Ryudo nodded his head before heading to the lobby. He hit the call button and waited until his phone vibrated in his pocket.

“Dr. Peterson speaking.”

I'm surprised you're still alive.”

“You were expecting something differently?”

I'd figured you'd be dead by now.”

Ryudo got off the elevator and walked to his office before sitting down.

“Who are you and why are you bothering me?”

Let's just say, I've been watching you for awhile now. That's all you need to know. I've got money on your survival so don't let me down.”

The phone went dead as Ryudo looked at it. First an assassin, now a stalker. What a great life. He tossed the phone on the desk before rubbing his face and sighing. His intercom went off making him groan.

“What's up?”

Dr. Peterson, you're needed in ICU.”

“Okay, I'll be right there.”

Ryudo hit the end button before looking at his phone again. Picking it up, he hit Blake's speed dial number, letting it ring before it went to voice mail.

“Meh, maybe he dropped it or is sick. I shouldn't worry to much.”

Lilly ran her paws softly over Sonya's head as she was asleep in her lap. Marcel looked on with a smile.

“She's really attached to you Lilly.”

Lilly looked up and smiled.

“I really love her. She's like the cub I never had.”

“Ever since Mary dead, I thought she would drift away from people. But I'm glad she has you.”

Lilly's ears folded at Mary's name.

“I really liked Mary. She was so kind to me. We always made each other laugh.”

“Kelley was devastated, but you helped him pull through. And I must say, you two make a cute couple.”

Lilly blushed making her chuckle. She looked down at her lap as Damon was still there, ears half folded and murring happily as she gently scratched his head and between his ears. Her eyes looked towards Drew who was reading a book, tail twitching left and right idly.

“You want a head rub foxy?”

“No thank you ma'am. If you did, I would never leave,” he chuckled.

They all shared a laugh, enjoying each others company and waiting for Kelley to return. Suddenly, all the hybrids ears perked up and looked towards the front door.

“What's wrong?” Marcel asked.

“Sounds like we have company. Lilly, take Sonya down to the basement,” Damon said standing up. “Marcel, you should go with them.”

“This is my house. I'm not going anywhere.”

“We'll make sure nothing happens to you,” Drew said. “I'll close the blinds and take the rear door.”

Damon nodded before heading to the closet door and slipped inside. He looked at Marcel who just smiled and picked up a book, moving so that whoever was coming in, had their backs to the door making him smile. Outside, a group of four people looked at the house from across the street. One of them tossed a cigarette from his mouth to the ground before stomping on it.

“So what's the objective?” one of them asked.

“Secure the briefcase or his daughter. No causalities. Mr. Syzman's orders.”

They saw the blinds being closed before grabbing their gear from the jeep they came in.

“Alright, Frank and Murphy, head around to the back quietly. Albert and I will go through the front. Watch yourself. These hybrid fucks can fight.”

“Why can't we kill them then Adam?” Murphy asked.

“Because we get paid to take orders. I don't like it no more then you do. Just do your job and rough them up but hold back from killing.”

They nodded their heads, Frank and Murphy heading to the back as Adam and Albert went up the front quietly. Albert took out his lock pick and started to jimmy the lock open silently. Hearing the tumblers click, he opened the door quietly as they slipped in. They walked in slowly, guns ready. They reached the living room where Marcel was sitting down reading a book. She looked at both of them with a frown.

“Breaking into an elderly person's home? How low can you get?”

“Shut up lady. We're here the briefcase. Where is it?” Adam snapped as Albert scanned the area.

“Youngsters these day. No respect.”

“I won't ask again nicely.”

“Gonna hit an old lady now? I dare you.”

“Don't fucking tempt me. Now where's the god damn briefcase?”

Marcel ignored him and went back to reading. Adam grunted angrily. He so wanted to pull the trigger but knew Syzman would find out. They didn't hear the closet door open while talking as Damon slipped quietly behind them, her walking cane in his paws. He got close enough to slap the gun out of Albert hand with a downward chop.

Albert let out a yell of surprise, turning around only to get a solid punch to his face making him stumble backwards. Adam turned on a dime, ready to shoot to kill. Forget what Syzman says. Damon used the hook part to pull the gun from his hands before giving him a kick to the chest sending Adam backwards as his back hit the wall.

“You fucking mutt,” Albert snarled.

He grabbed him behind making Damon grunt from the tight squeeze he applied.

“Hold him Albert,” Adam said, puling out his combat knife.

Damon wrapped his legs around Albert's and pulled them forward while jumping backwards onto the end table, taking the wind out of Albert and releasing his hold. He rolled forward afterwards, kicking his left leg out and connecting with Adam's knee. Adam crumpled forward as Damon brought his right knee up, landing it right on his chin and hearing the crunch. Albert got up to attack but was struck back down with a right hook to the temple, knocking him out.

“Sorry about the table,” Damon panted out.

“Quite alright dear. I needed a new one anyway,” Marcel smiled.

“You okay back there Drew?”

It was quiet for a few moments which made Damon nervous.

“Drew?”

“Yeah, I'm good,” Drew said from the back.

Damon let out a breath before looking at the men.

“You have any extension cords?”

“Check the closet. I might also have some Christmas tree lights,” Marcel chuckled.

Damon chuckled also, searching the closet and finding the lights which he used to tie the men up. Drew dragged in the other two which were tied up neatly also. The basement door opened as Lilly took a peek out.

“It's all clear Lilly,” Damon said.

“Ok,” she said, holding Sonya who was still fast asleep.

“What do we do with them?” Drew asked.

“Wait for Kelley. I'm sure he'll want to talk to them.”

Blake let out a moan. His head felt like a herd of elephants walked on him. He was face down as he got to his knees albeit slowly.

“What the hell happened?”

He opened his eyes which took a second or two to adjust. When they did, he saw he was inside a large, glass container. Small flood lights were shining on it leaving the background in darkness. He got up and banged on the glass. He noticed there was a door but it appeared to be electronically sealed as he banged on it a couple of times.

“Hello!? Anybody out there?”

He squinted his eyes, noticing a blinking red light in the background

Finally up?” a voice echoed.

“Who are you? What do you want?”

Shh, you'll wake your neighbor.”

Blake looked behind him to see Caroline out cold.

“Caroline!!”

He rushed over and went to his knees to check on her. Feeling her neck, she was still alive which made her relax.

“Caroline? Caroline can you hear me?”

She let out a whine before opening her eyes.

“Blake? What happened? Where are we?”

A beep followed by a clank was heard as Blake helped her up. Water started to fill the bottom of the floor slowly.

“What the hell?” Blake said.

He started to hit the glass hard before throwing his weight on it.

Save your strength. You'll need it,” the voice said.

“Why are you doing this? We've done nothing wrong.”

You're in a relationship with a hybrid. That's everything wrong. But don't worry. If your savior agrees to the terms laid out, you'll be free. If not, I hope you can hold your breath for a long time.”

“Bastard,” Blake yelled before hearing Caroline whine.

“I'm scared Blake.”

He hugged her closely before kissing her forehead. Psi watched the feed with disgust. His phone rang as he picked it up.

“Yes? Everything's all set. He'll sign it or lose something precious to him.”

Kaisl sat near the door in the yard, his mind still trying to understand what happened. A lawyer that represented a high end slave trading business is working to get him out. But why? He didn't have the kind of money that would be required to pay him.

I'll try and work out some kind of deal to get you out. Be warned though. You may end up doing things you don't want to by the judge. But just suck it up and deal with it. If it wasn't for Mr. Syzman paying me for this, I would let your hybrid loving ass rot in here. When it comes time for your hearing, just do EXCATLY what I say and nothing else. Do you understand?”

What did he mean by that? Is there a chance he'll get out and see Roman again? His train of thought was broken when seven footer stood next to him.

“Heard you had a visitor. Who was it? Family?”

“No. A lawyer.”

“You're finally getting your hearing huh? Who's paying for it?”

“A guy named Syzman.”

Seven footer stiffened at that before balling his fists.

“That fucker is involved in your hearing? Then you best back out if you know what's good for you.”

“But this is my chance to get out of this hell hole.”

“Listen to me good,” he said, kneeling so he was some what at eye level. “You do not want to be in Syzman's debt. That is one person you want to avoid like cancer.”

“Why?”

Seven footer was quiet before closing his eyes.

“Because he's the reason I'm here. I lost my hybrid to that fucker and I told him no matter how long it takes, I will make him pay.”

He stood up and exhaled slowly, getting his anger under control.

“Syzman doesn't care about anything but himself and money. He sees hybrids as tools for work and to be discarded if broken. Trust me when I say this, do not go through with this hearing. Cause if he does get you out, chances are you will end up doing something you'll regret for the rest of your life.”

“But......I want to see Roman,” Kaisl said, tears beginning to well in his eyes. “I've had enough of this place.”

“You're better off in here then with Syzman,” seven footer said as the buzzer sounded. “But I can't control your life. All I can give you is advice. If you don't want to take it, that's your decision.”

Kaisl got up and got in line with the other inmates, his mind still trying to decide what to do. If what he was saying was true, then this Syzman guy was doing this for his own agenda. But what was it and why? He was so caught up in his thinking, he wasn't looking where he was going and bumped into the last thing he wanted.

“Well well, if it isn't the fur fucker,” Riktor said turning around. “Sleep walking and thinking about some furry tail?”

Kaisl shrunk back and turned to walk away but got surrounded quickly.

“Did I hear right that you're getting a hearing soon?” Riktor snorted. “What kind of shit is that? Who the hell is representing a fur fucker?”

Kaisl didn't answer him before letting out a gasp as he got grabbed by his shirt collar.

“I said, who is representing your bitch ass?”

“Some guy named Syzman.”

Everyone's eyes went wide at before backing off of him.

“Shit, you got involved with Syzman? Then I don't want any part of you.”

Kaisl watched as they all left him alone. Seven footer came up to him as they left.

“Told you. Everybody knows what Syzman is about. Now the choice is yours.”

Kaisl went back to his cell, sitting on the bunk with his back to the wall. What was he going to do? His hearing was in three days and he had to make a choice.

Night time found Kelley pulling into the driveway of his mother's house, chuckling away as he got out.

“I'll have to take you up on your offer one of these days Trevor. That sounds like fun,” Kelley said.

“I'm telling you, you'll gonna love it,” Trevor chuckled.

Kelley walked up to the door only to find it unlock. Trevor noticed also, pointing to the back as Issac nodded and went around. Trevor walked in first, ears perked and alert, nose twitching as he picked up various scents.

“That you boss?” Drew asked.

“Yeah. Is everything okay?”

“Peachy. We had some party crashers but me and Damon took care of it.”

Kelley walked in a hurry, seeing Damon with his head on Marcel's lap as she combed his head softly.

“Mom, are you okay?”

“Just fine son. They took care of me.”

He turned to Lilly who smiled.

“Are you okay hun?”

“Yes. Nothing to worry about.”

“Where are they?”

“In the closet,” Damon said, murring happily.

Kelley walked to the closet and opened it up to see all the men tied up and gagged. He grabbed one of them by the collar and dragged him out, tossing him on the floor.

“Alright, start talking,” he said angrily, ripping the tape off his mouth. “Who are you and why are you here?”

“Go to hell,” Adam said.

“Have it your way. Issac!”

Issac walked in, ears perked.

“Yes?”

“Have fun with him.”

Issac gave a grin before walking up to him, cracking his knuckles.

“What......what are you going do?” Adam asks, shaking a little.

“You don't want to know,” Kelley said taking a seat next to Lilly. “Oh, and this time Issac, try to make them bleed out a little faster. And use the bathtub. Blood is a pain to get off the wall.”

“As you wish Kelley,” Issac said grabbing Adam. “Scream all you want, it turns me on.”

“Wait....wait. You can't do this.”

“You broke in and tried to do bodily harm to my family. I have all right to defend my family,” Kelley said shrugging.

Adam started struggling making Issac chuckle.

“I love when they struggle.”

“Wait. Wait. I'll talk.”

Issac stopped dragging him as Adam let out a sigh of relief. Kelley walked over and went to eye level with Adam.

“Start talking. Who sent you and why?”

“Syzman paid us to get a briefcase that held some kind of votes or something. We were told not to harm anybody.”

“Doesn't make it right. I've come to far to let that asshole get in my way.”

“So what are you going to do with me?”

“Simple,” Kelley said standing up. “You're going to give Syzman what he wanted.”

Everybody looked at him in confusion.

“What are you talking about?” Lilly asked.

Kelley left the living room, coming back a few moment later with a briefcase and tossing it to the man.

“Here you go.”

Adam looked at him in disbelief as well as everybody else.

“Just like that? No catch?”

“No catch. Take it and get the hell out before I change my mind. Trevor, cut them loose.”

Trevor nodded before dragging everyone out of the closet and cutting them free. They looked at Kelley in confusion before walking out the door as the hybrids bared their teeth in a growl. Adam made it to the van as his phone rang.

“Yes? We have what you wanted. Where do you want to meet? Understood.”

Adam took another look at the house before they drove off. Trevor watched them leave before looking at Kelley.

“I'm confused. Why give him the briefcase? Didn't you work hard to get those supporters?”

“Yeah. Very hard.”

“So why hand it over like that?”

“Cause I have no need for it. I have all the supporters right here,” he said, showing him a flash drive. “All he's getting is a briefcase full of blank paper.”

Trevor grinned at that before taking a seat.

“You had me worried for a second.”

He looked over to Damon who was still in Marcel's lap.

“Were you like this the whole time Damon?”

“What's it too you?” he asked.

“You should share the love man.”

Marcel chuckled before patting her other leg as Trevor hopped over quickly. He let out a happy whine feeling his ears get scratched, tail wagging happily. Lilly chuckled before hearing a yawn as Sonya woke up.

“Lilly? Is it morning already?” she asked softly.

“Not yet cutie. Go back to sleep,” she said, nuzzling her softly.

Sonya smiled before cuddling up in Lilly's lap, falling back asleep. Marcel looked at her son before asking a question.

“So what now son?”

“Only three more days until the big dog comes back. I just need to be careful and watch my back.”

//////

Ryudo turned in the paperwork for the night shift crew as Gloria smiled at him.

“Heading home for the night?”

“Yeah. Its been a long day and I'm exhausted. Make sure that squirrel hybrid doesn't move around or he'll tear those stitches out.”

“Okay Dr. Peterson. Have a good night.”

“Good night Gloria.”

He left the hospital and got in his car, still trying to figure out what happened to Blake. It isn't like him to not call or show up. He pulled out his phone again and was about to dial when it rang startling him.

“Hello?”

Hey Ryudo, its Blake's mom.”

“Hey Mrs. Johnson. How are you?”

I'm doing good. Listen, have you've seen Blake? We haven't seen him since dinner last night.”

“No I haven't. He hasn't even shown up for work which is unlike him.”

He heard her sigh on the other side.

Well if you see him, tell him to come home.”

“Okay Mrs. Johnson, will do.”

Ryudo hung up before frowning. Okay, what the hell is going on? If his mother is calling him, then something must be wrong. It even worried him cause Blake would always call and bug him during the day at the pharmacy.

“Where the hell are you Blake?”

He pulled into his driveway and let out a sigh before killing the engine. He thumped his head on the steering wheel a couple of times before getting out. He even called Simon and Connors and even they haven't seen him. Where the hell could he be?

“I'm home,” Ryudo said softly, walking in and taking his shoes off.

Gail walked up to him, a large manila envelope in his paws.

“Ryudo, somebody came here earlier and left this for you and said to watch it.”

Ryudo raised an eyebrow at that before grabbing the envelope. He shook it a little as it sounded like a video cassette tape. Ripping it open, he walked over to the entertainment stand and popped it in. Static appeared before showing a chair sitting in an empty room. Psi walked over to the chair and took a seat.

So Mr. Ryudo Peterson, if you're watching this, then that stupid hybrid did something useful. Anyway, let's get down to business. I've been sent to make you see the light and correct the errors of your way. I've learned plenty about you these last few days and I believe you are intelligent enough to come to a sensible conclusion. I'll be waiting for you at the old soda factory.”

The tape ended as Ryudo snorted.

“An assassin that wants to talk? Now I heard everything.”

“What are you going to do Ryudo?” Gail asked.

“What else? I'm going.”

Ryudo turned to head out the door before Gail grabbed his arm.

“Wait Ryudo. Let me go with you.”

Ryudo smiled before giving him a kiss.

“What did I tell you earlier? No heroics.”

“But....”

Ryudo put his finger on the tip of Gail's nose making him cross his eyes.

“No buts. Didn't you promise me?”

Gail folded his ears but nodded, keeping his head down. Ryudo lifted his head up, staring into those beautiful golden eyes.

“I'll come back to you. I promise.”

He gave him a slow, deep kiss, making Gail murr softly. They broke off slowly as Ryudo turned to leave. Getting back in the car, he made a beeline to the factory, not stopping for anything. The tires screeched as he made a stop at the gate which was wide open. Gritting his teeth, he hit the gas pedal and drove right inside. Stopping at the front door, there were signs pointing to the warehouse entrance. Heading in that direction, he got out and walked inside, seeing Psi sitting down on the chair.

“Welcome Ryudo Peterson. I've been expecting you.”

Ryudo narrowed his eyes before walking over to him. Psi pushed over an extra chair which Ryudo refused.

“Alright, what do you want?”

“Simple,” Psi said, digging into his bag and pulling out some papers. “Sign this and I'll be on my way. I'm suppose to kill you, but you.....peaked my curiosity. After hearing all the good things you've done for hybrids, I wanted to give you this chance to reconsider your profession.”

Ryudo reached over and snatched the papers out of his hand and read them. His eyes went wide reading them. It was a contract from Syzman saying he would pay and give him whatever he wanted if he signed on the dotted line and retire.

“You got to be kidding me. I ain't signing this shit.”

“I figured you say that. So I brought a little insurance.”

Psi raised a remote and pressed a button causing the lights to come on. Ryudo eyes widen at what he saw. It was Blake and Caroline inside some kind of container with water up to their thighs and still raising.

“BLAKE!!!”

“He can't hear. Try now,” Psi said hitting the volume button.

“Blake!? Can you hear me?”

“Ryudo!? Help us. The water is getting higher.”

Ryudo looked at Psi who just smiled evilly.

“You bastard. What the hell are you playing at?”

“I do what I need to in order to get the job done. So now you've got two choices. One, sign the papers and I let them go free. Or two, don't sign the papers and watch your childhood friend and his disgusting hybrid die.”

Ryudo, don't sign a damn thing. He told me everything. You worked to hard to give everything up because of me.”

Psi hit the volume button again and chuckled.

“So Mr. Peterson? What is your.....”

Psi quickly did a back flip out the chair, avoiding the round kick aimed for his face and landed on his feet.

“Feisty. That's why I love this job. Which is why I came up with choice number three. If you can beat me, I'll let you all go.”

Psi looked at the container and rubbed his chin.

“And judging by how fast the water is rising, I'd say you have about ten to twelve minutes. Twenty if you count how long a human and hybrid can hold their breath.”

Ryudo growled and flew at Psi who just smiled as they went toe to toe. Surprisingly, Psi was countering everything Ryudo threw at him with ease before slapping him hard with his tail making Ryudo stumble backwards, holding his cheek that had a gash across it.

“Pitiful. You know, maybe this was a mistake. Maybe you need to hear him cheering you on, like the movie Rocky.”

He dug into his pocket and hit the remote again as the volume was turned on. He could hear Blake calling his name.

“Much better, no? Now then, let's try round two,” Psi grinned before rushing him.

Blake watched as Ryudo was getting countered left and right.

Dammit Ryudo what are you doing? Stop fooling around and kick this guy's ass.”

“Shut up, you're not helping,” Ryudo growled, ducking a swing from Psi's tail.

He grabbed the tail before it retreated and pulled Psi closer, landing a couple of body shots before a straight kick to the chest making Psi slide a couple of feet. Psi flipped himself upright before grinning.

“There you go. You are the first person to land a hit on me since my fighting days in the underground. I guess I can stop pulling my punches now.”

Psi started to go transparent, blending into the surroundings and becoming almost invisible. Ryudo held his ground, defenses up. A hard shot to the kidneys made him grunt and swing blindly to the left. He felt another one before a kick to the back of the leg making him go to one knee. A grunt escaped him as something clasp around him neck, cutting his air off. From the feel of it, it was Psi's tail and it was damn strong.

He gripped the tail, nails digging into the scale trying to get a good grip. Once he had it, he pried the tail off his neck before receiving two solid shots to the face and a kick to the chest making him fall to the floor.

“Tsk tsk tsk. I was hoping for something better,” Psi's voice echoed around him.

Ryudo got up with a grunt, wiping the blood coming from his mouth. Damn this guy can hit hard. He stole a glance to see the water rising, already up to his chest. He had to be quick.

“This can all be over if you sign. Believe it or not, I actually have a sliver of respect for you. Not many people would risk criticism for becoming a hybrid doctor. I don't want to kill you, but it'll be something to add to my list of things I've killed. So killing you would actually be a plus.”

“I'm honored,” Ryudo snorted. “But I'm not about to be added to your list.

“Suit yourself. Oh yeah, your time is running out, so I suggest you try harder.”

Ryudo gritted his teeth. There was no way to tell where Psi was with his camouflage ability. If he could just get a glimpse of where he would be, he might have a chance. And in this dim lighting, the chances of that were very slim. He stole a glance at Blake and saw the water was up to his neck. He was running out of time.

“Why not fight me fair?” Ryudo asked, eyes darting around.

“In my line of work, fair fights are none existent.”

Ryudo let out a grunt feeling another shot to the back before getting his legs swept from under him as he hit the ground. Psi was relentless with his attacks as Ryudo curled up, trying to keep the blows to a minimum. Taking a gamble, he reached forward and grabbed a hold of what felt like a leg and twisted it. Psi let out a yell of pain, his camouflage dropping as he fell to the ground. Ryudo was on top of him in an instant, raining blows down his body as Psi covered up.

But the one thing Ryudo forgot about was his tail as it grabbed him by the neck, squeezing hard. Ryudo let out a gasp, his air leaving him quickly from the assault he did on Psi. Psi capitalized on the chance, landing blows to Ryudo's body as he tried to free his neck. Ryudo could fell himself getting light headed, and the repeated pummeling to his body wasn't helping either. With a last ditch effort, he opened his mouth and clamped down on Psi's tail making him yell in shock and disbelief. The constricting appendage was released from his neck as Ryudo rolled away, taking huge gulps of air that felt painful from the beating on his chest.

“Little maggot,” Psi snarled, kicking Ryudo hard in the chest and lifting him a few inches. “You've been around hybrids long enough to start to act like one by biting.”

Ryudo wheezed painfully, air coming in little by little. He let out a cough that had speckles of blood in it. A garbled yell made him look over to see Blake barely able to keep his head above water. Damn it all. He had to do something. Adrenaline started to fill his body along with rage as he balled his fists. He got to one knee only to get punched right back to the ground.

“You know, I'm actually enjoying myself. You're the first human to put up this much of a fight.”

Ryudo got to his knees again, gritting his teeth. Psi was about to knock him back to the ground again, when Ryudo flew to his feet and caught him with a massive uppercut that rocked Psi's head making him groggy. From that point, Ryudo went on the attack, landing blow after hard blow. All the adrenaline and rage that was built up, he was letting it out. Psi went for an attack but Ryudo caught his arm, breaking it over his shoulder resulting in a high pitch yell.

Ryudo let go of the arm before kicking him to a large metal beam. Psi stood there, back to the beam as his body was shook with each thundering blow Ryudo gave him. Blood was flying out the mouth of Psi as each hit landed hard. Ryudo grabbed him by the throat, seeing the bloody face of Psi and squeezed making him gasp. He reached up with his good arm and tried to pry him off, air leaving him quickly.

“Where's the remote?” Ryudo said angrily.

Psi tried to respond but could only gag.

WHERE'S THE REMOTE?

“P....Poc....Pocket.”

Ryudo dug into his pocket and pulled out the small device. He dropped him to the ground and turned quickly to the container holding Blake and Caroline to see them not moving. Pressing the button, the water started to drain quickly before the door was opened. He rushed inside to check on them.

“Blake!? Can you hear me?”

He started to perform CPR, tears in his eyes.

“Come on Blake, you're stronger then this. Don't give up on me.”

Sirens were heard in the background as Psi pulled his weak body off the ground, disappearing into the darkness, a scowl on his face.

“Please Blake,” Ryudo said, crying fully now. “You have to come back.”

Ryudo cradled Blake's body from behind, crying hard as the police stormed into the warehouse.
