TNR chapter 8
#8 of Tales of Nekir and Rain
Nekir cried at the bar, he sat face down at the bar crying, no matter how much he drank it didn't help. He sobbed face down into the bar, he missed Rain, the way she held herself, the way she walked, the way she winked at him whenever she saw him looking. But he wanted her happy, this was for her! Not for him! No matter who much he justitified it! It didn't make him feel any better, it only made him feel worse!
It tore at Sirblood seeing such a nice man like Nekir like this, he felt bad in the bottom of his soul for the poor lad. Will was ferious that Rain had spilt with Nekir! Even Nekir was sad that he had spilt with Rain, he had done it so that she would be happy! And Sirblood felt sorry for the lad, but right now he needed to be alone with himself.
Rain was torn at the very center of her being, she sat on the corner of the bed, torn between the father of her future children and her love Nekir. She sat their and sobbed to herself, she couldn't belive how selfish she had been! She loved Nekir with every fiber of her being! She owed Huma love as father of her children, but she was totally for Nekir! NO matter how much she reminded herself that she was going to be mother of Huma's children, she felt like she had cheated herself! No! It felt like she had cheated Nekir!
She sat down on the corner of the bed and broke into heart wrenching sobs as she felt her heart tear in two. She cried and felt her soul rip! She hated herself for having walked out on Nekir like that, she should of slapped him and yelled at him for ever thinking something like that! But what had she done, she had run of with the first half-dragon that she had seen! No! That was also a lie, she liked Huma's he had a kind heart! Damit! She wished the decision was easy!
Huma awoke to the sounds of the sobbing dragoness and looked at her fearing that he had upset her. He moved over to her as mixed feelings passed through his mind.
Rain looked at Huma with love and hate at the same time, she groaned and laid on the bed crying into the sheets, she sobbed heavily on the verge of hyperventialtion.
Huma groaned inwardly as he relized that there was nothing he could do make her feel better... He had to help her somehow. Maybe, he should go find her old mate, maybe he could shed light on this...
Rain was absorbed in a world of woe and dispare, she never even noticed Huma get up and leave.
Huma spent the next some hours walking down the hall depressed and feeling that all was his fault, he reached a room that smelt of liqour and sought to end his missoury with a drink or two.
Sirblood spotted the half-dragon and the look of grief on his face along with the look of worry. He moved over and put two and two together. He sighed happy that there was common ground and scooped up the sobbing Nekir and the glum and surprised Huma.
Rain was crying face down when she heard a comforting voice, the one she loved! She looked up happy to see Nekir and unhappy to see Nekir at the same time.
Nekir smiled when he saw Rain and hugged her tight not caring if she was or wasn't his dragoness any more. He just hugged her and his worries went away. He was happy the hug was returned with crushing force! And he would have hugged her even if she hadn't hugged him back! He let tears of joy flow from his eyes as he felt himself locked against the dragoness he would give his world for! The true Irony was, that she was his world!
Huma sighed unhappily to himself as he sat off to the side feeling rejected, he laid to the ground and curled to the side letting himself feel as if he was nothing. He really did like Rain, and even if they couldn't be together, he would like her as a friend.
Sirblood sighed as he looked on the unhappy half-dragon as he curled into a ball leaving nothing but what was left on the outside.
Rain perked up and licked Nekir kissing him throughly as if he was going to be taken away for the rest of her life. She let herself stare into his eyes as he looked back full of tears. She sighed uphappily and with a sound of degrading as she spied Huma curled in a ball softly whimpering. She looked at Nekir, he nodded at Rain and let go of a hug that broke his heart to let go.
Rain trotted over to Huma with a heavy heart and hugged him before she pulled him up and licked the side of his head.
Huma looked at the dragoness in disbelief, and then looked at the human who seemed to sink in on himself, Huma groaned inwardly as he decided what to do.
"Rain," Huma said as he looked at the pink dragoness, "I can't come between you and him.." Huma said with a sad sigh as he groaned.
Rain shook her head saddly side to side with a no that broke her heart in two, "No Huma," She looked back at Nekir longing for him to say no, longing for him to think of himself for once instead of her! She sighed heavily and turned back to Huma, "You are going to be father of my children," Rain leaned over and kissed Huma, "And I love you for that."
Sirblood heard this and thoughts ran through his head at an alarmingly fast rate, there were cries of protest as he narrowed the possible solutions down to just one, he screamed at the risk involed at it, but he was never one to back away when something ugly rose its head of dispair. He looked at Nekir, he took in the visage of the poor lad, and then he looked to Rain, who although looking chipper on the outside, to anyone that knew her she was dieing on the inside. And at last he looked at Huma, poor Huma had wandered into the middle of all of this and sat there with just as much of a mixture of sadness and glum.
"I will be the judge of that!" Sirblood said as he scooped up Rain trying to act impartial.
He held his palm over his daughters belly, and let it glow there for what seemed like an enernity. He put up a venere of surprised looked when really deep in his soul he cheered that the spell had worked.
Sirblood kept the look of surprise as he addressed the two males. "Rain is pregante!" Sirblood said with the glea of an expectant grandfather.
Huma cheered up and looked at Sirblood with hope and glea at the news. He was going to be a father!
Nekir seemed to sink in himself, well Rain had got what she wanted, a brood.
"The father isn't Huma though." Sirblood said looking at the two.
Huma seemed to shrink where he stood and was just there... In utter shock!
Nekir cheered up! This meant that he was the father! Oh! Happy day!
"Uh, but Nekir I don't know how to say this.. but your not the father either." Sirblood said as he looked at the happy Nekir, who sat in utter shock.
"Well, then who is?" Nekir asked as he sat in shock, thinking it over, had Rain ever been away from him at all? No! How dare he think that! She was always loyal to him!
"I don't really no how to put this.... so I will just say it.... You BOTH Are!" Sirblood roared out happily.
The two males, Nekir and Huma, just sat there with mouths wide open! They then passed out from the sheer shock of it!
Rain had a horn to horn smile as she looked up at her father, "Thank you dad!"
"For What!?!" Sirblood asked frienging innocents.
Rain laughed as she was set down on the floor, gentally as an expecting mother should be.
Sirblood smiled to himself, it was good to find a middle road.
