A Valentine's Shower
"Hi, I'm here for my eleven AM appointment."
Serling beamed as he walked up to the reception desk, the red panda smiling back and nodding warmly.
"Hey Serling! We're running a few minutes late this morning, had a fire drill first thing so still catching up. Do you mind taking a seat, and I'll call you through as soon as your room is ready for you to go and get ready?"
The coyote nodded in understanding, and without another word moved over to take a seat on one of the waiting area's comfortably padded benches. They really must have been behind schedule, since normally there was more than enough time for rooms to be cleaned between massages that he was able to go and lie down on the massage table ten or even fifteen minutes before his appointment was scheduled to begin. Even more of a clue than his own presence lingering in the waiting area though, was the presence of a second figure already sitting on one of the benches. A tall but rather lean tiger who, though Serling smiled politely as he approached and sat down on the next bench over, looked rather dejected and more than a little hopeless.
For a minute or so Serling sat in silence beside the tiger, trying not to overthink the situation or to unwarrantably get involved in the other man's business when really he had absolutely no reason to do so, and no reason to think that the tiger would want him to even if there was one. But, try as he might to just act natural and chill out for a few minutes while he waited for his room to be ready, he couldn't avoid noticing the way the feline male was shifting nervously, anxiously in his seat. The look of strain on his face which Serling knew all too well, and had experienced far, far more often than he ever did nowadays before starting his regular massage routine here. Thus after another couple of minutes passed and neither of them had been called away yet, Serling couldn't help but feel like he had to say something. To do something to try and reassure the tiger, just as he might have appreciated someone doing for him when he was his nervous, stressed out, never before massage-relaxed self.
"Sucks having to wait, huh? God knows I need these massages after a week at work, and there are times I feel like I could still benefit from more if I had the time."
The tiger jumped slightly at Serling's voice suddenly speaking out, however softly and gently. Rather than looking at all relieved or encouraged by Serling's words though, in fact rather than seeming as though they struck a chord at all with him, the tiger just looked more morose as he glanced up at the smiling, well meaning coyote.
"Oh, a-actually, um... I've never had a massage here before. I c-came in today hoping to get a walk in appointment, b-because I'm... well, I'm really stressed out a-and a friend recommended this place. They said they were full b-but that I could wait and see if they had any cancellations. But, I've been here s-since 9, and... well, I'm still waiting."
He smiled weakly.
"I'm glad you think the massages here are good though. I... I hope you enjoy yours. I'm sure a spot w-will open up... eventually..."
Serling's heart broke a little for the tiger. The other man wasn't trying to guilt-trip the coyote, he could see that in the way he was trying so hard to smile gratefully and hopefully at him. He was just really, really stressed out, and really bummed out about it, as anyone would be if they'd set their heart on a way to relax themselves, only to have it ripped out from underneath them at the last moment. It was the worst kind of situation for someone dealing with anxiety or any sort of rough time at all, and Serling wished that there was something, anything he could have done. He had over a dozen effectively pre-paid sessions waiting in lieu thanks to the various... issues he'd had during some visits to the Spa and the experimental procedures for which he had volunteered, and he would have gladly given one up to this guy. But, unfortunately, no amount of free massages could overwrite existing appointments, and short of giving up his own slot...
The coyote's thoughts trailed off at that moment, and after looking away from the tiger and towards the reception desk once again, Serling grinned, his eyes widened, his ears perked and his tail began to wag, and he darted up and off the bench without a word. Hurriedly he raced over to where the red panda was hurriedly tapping at her work phone, no doubt trying to send out messages of apology to other clients later that day letting them know there was a delay in the schedule, and gently cleared his throat to get her attention.
"Uh, hey, Danni?"
She looked up, and fixed Serling with that same warm, familiar smile which he knew was more than just professional courtesy.
"Sorry to bother you, I know you're busy, but... I'm trying to remember, did I take one of my experimental procedure rewards as a regular massage, or did I take the Valentine's couple special?"
Danni's chair swivelled slightly so that she was facing her computer monitor, and a few clicks later she turned back to Serling with a wider smile.
"You took the couple's special. And while I'd normally jump at the chance, Serling, I am working today."
She winked, giggling as the coyote turned beet red beneath his fur and began to stammer and splutter. After letting him stew in his bashful discomfort for a few seconds though, she shook her head with a grin.
"I'm kidding. Gosh you're cute when you're flustered. Makes me think of those big bunny ears you had for a little while, they got so red when you blushed. Cute cute cute."
Serling's face got redder and redder, but finally he managed to clear his throat and lean forward a little with a bashful murmur.
"Actually, I... um, I was wondering if I could use it t-to... to split my session I have today with, um... oh, I didn't ask his name. Uh, the tiger, there. He seems like he could really use a massage and..."
Danni beamed, and leaned in even closer over her desk, her and Serling's muzzles just a handful of inches apart by that point.
"That's so sweet of you. But, are you sure you wanna do that? I mean... it's a valentine's themed massage. It's not just the two of you sitting on tables next to each other. It's very intimate. Very romantic and... personal, and it definitely can't be done separately."
Serling's cheeks burned, but he nodded and steadied himself with a ragged breath.
"I... I understand that. But, if the tiger, if he's okay with it, would it be acceptable? I just don't want to get the guy's hopes up over nothing if I make him the offer only to find out it's not doable anyway. And, if it wouldn't work, or... if he says he doesn't feel comfortable sharing it with me..."
Another slightly strained, deep sigh escaped the coyote.
"If that happens, then he can have my appointment today. I'll take the next available slot, whenever it is in the next few days."
The red panda placed a hand over her heart, and her large wide eyes looked at Serling with an expression far more tender than the teasing playfulness she had been regarding him with primarily thus far.
"You're the sweetest. Sweet as a candy cane, Serling."
She winked. Serling's face burned crimson, but a few moments later the red panda turned back to her computer again, clicked at the screen with her mouse a couple of times, then turned back to the coyote yet again with a smile and a nod.
"It'll be fine. That treatment room is currently free, and there's no-one scheduled to use it all day. If he's okay with it, all I need to do is click a button and I can swap out the reservations right here."
Serling grinned, and still blushing he stepped away from the reception desk, shooting Danni a silent, hopeful double thumbs-up of gratitude and hope before turning back towards the rest of the reception area and in particular back to the tiger still sitting, staring in the sort of anxious fixation Serling knew all too well down at his own feet.
"Hi... again."
The coyote spoke, and slowly, trying once again to mask his own obvious stress for the sake of public expectation, the tiger looked up at him with a thin smile.
"Hi? Uh... s-sorry, am I... am I in your way, sitting here?"
Serling frowned and shook his head, and moved over to not just stand beside the tiger, but sit next to him on that same stretch of comfortably padded bench.
"No. Gosh no, it's just... well... you said you wanted a massage. That you could really use it? I... well, I have a coupon. A coupon for a two person massage, and I know we don't know each other, a-and I know it might sound creepy as hell, but..."
He was prepared to make a big pitch for this, to tell the tiger that he meant well and would treat him with the utmost respect, so long as that was returned in kind. That they didn't have to make it weird or awkward, but that any nervousness they might feel would still probably be better than sitting there worrying and waiting for hours and hours, maybe the entire day if no spots opened up. He really wanted to help the tiger out, and he really wanted to do so in a way which meant they would both be able to relax and cast off their anxieties and worries, albeit the other man being in dire need of such relief more so than him. Serling had planned on saying all of that and more in his efforts to encourage the tiger to join him, but as it turned out, he didn't need to.
The tiger was clearly so stressed, so anxious and so desperate for anything, absolutely anything which might be able to offer him a little relief, that before Serling could even really get into the meat of his explanation, he blurted out a hasty, frantically eager assent.
"I'dlovetojoinyou!"
The two men blushed. Their eyes avoided one another, only to be drawn together as though by magnetic attraction as they each nervously looked just to see whether the other was too. They blushed deeper, and remained silent, hearts racing, cheeks burning, muzzles locked closed for the best part of a minute until a third voice cleared her throat from across the reception area. Both the coyote and tiger raised their heads, and saw the red panda receptionist smiling across at them, gesturing down the hallway to the right of the Spa's entrance-hall.
"Serling. Jacob. Your room is ready for you now. I hope you enjoy your session, and... Jacob, I understand this is your first time here, so, welcome to the Spa. I hope you find it every bit as relaxing and transformative as Serling has."
*********
Five minutes later, barely a word having been spoken between them as Serling led the tiger to their scheduled massage suite, a suite he had walked past many times but not one he'd ever visited before in fact, they arrived and slipped inside. Immediately, Serling's cheeks burned hotter, and he heard a soft mewl of barely stifled surprise begin to escape Jacob before the big cat could get a hold of himself. In the centre of the room, there stood a large, enclosed cubicle half way between a shower and a spray-tan booth. Its front wall was glass, allowing them to see the intricately crafted interior with beautiful depictions of classical art style figures frolicking in a garden or upon the golden sand of a beach, nude and unabashed as they cavorted and embraced. Within the room, a member of the Spa's staff whom Serling had seen but never worked with directly rose from a seat at a small desk, and smiled warmly as he padded over to greet the two men.
"Good morning! I'm Niall. I handle the Spa's more technologically advanced procedures. Serling, I... uh, I handled the AI after your test session with it. Needless to say we're still working on some modifications to its behavioural programming, sorry about that. But, no need to worry. This treatment has been a favourite of partners and lovers for years. Tried, tested and never disappointing from the feedback we receive!"
The tiger and coyote looked bashfully at one another, then at that booth, that singular booth. The fox standing before them cleared his throat, and smiled in understanding, or at least what he believed to be understanding as he regarded the bashful glow upon both other men's faces.
"Well, you two probably want to be alone together. Don't worry, I understand perfectly. Please, enjoy the shower. Once you're done, one of our massage specialists, Harrison I believe, will come in and collect you both for the couple's shared massage which follows on from this. But, by that point you should already be so totally relaxed that you'll barely even notice."
He winked at the two men, and grinned as they blushed even deeper.
"Gosh, you two are really eager, huh? Well, okay lovebirds, I'll leave you to it. Just put your clothes on the table over there. Normally we'd say undress to your comfort level, but... well, I don't think it'll be a problem considering, but needless to say you'd be best taking off everything for this particular session."
With that, the vulpine Spa employee made his exit and left the tiger and coyote alone together. Serling and Jacob looked at one another for a few moments, then at the cubicle, then back again. Serling bowed his head.
"If it's too much, too weird... you can use the shower, I'll just... I'll just sit over there in that seat, and when Harrison comes in, I'll explain the situation."
The tiger's eyes widened, and to Serling's shock, he felt a hand reach out and touch one of his own.
"Y-you'd really do that?"
Serling blinked, and nodded.
"Of course I would. I get what it's like to be scared and nervous and stressed out so much you think the whole world's gonna cave in unless you find some way to relax. I really do. And... to stop you from having to deal with that, even just for an hour or so, I'd totally give up my own session. I was gonna, anyway, if they didn't let us do this one together."
The tiger's eyes got wider, and Serling's cheeks burned crimson as the hand fell away from his own, only for Jacob to bashfully speak up again.
"L-let's... let's do it, then. Together. I... n-no one has been that kind to me for quite a while, and... and I really do need this. So, please. Don't let me stop you. We can both use the shower, and then both get our massages together afterwards. And, it'll be fine... b-because, well, we'll make it be fine, won't we."
Serling chuckled, and nodded with a warm smile to the tiger.
"Yeah."
He murmured as he watched Jacob reaching for the lower hem of his hooded sweater, and began to do the same as he started to pull at the top button of his shirt.
"Yeah, we will."
The two of them stripped. Not sexily, not romantically, not how the Spa probably envisioned a pair of people getting ready for this particular treatment at all, facing away from one another until they were both down to their boxer shorts and boxer-briefs respectively. Only then did they glance around at each other, so nervous, so worried about being branded a pervert or a peeping tom just for checking up on where their newfound massage buddy was in the same ongoing process as them. Once they caught one another looking though, and bashfully realised it was for the same innocent reason, they blushed deep, but swallowed thickly and shared a nod before turning away again. It was time, they wordlessly agreed. And, it was okay for them to do it. To take off their underwear, and be naked in one another's presence.
So, they did, and soon, they were. And then the two naked, blushing men with their hands awkwardly cupping, shielding their nether regions from one another's gaze were stepping slowly and nervously forward towards the booth; Serling approaching it more directly while Jacob examined the sides and peered at the interior curiously.
"H-how do we work it? The guy who was here, h-he didn't give us instructions..."
Serling giggled, and smiled reassuringly at the tiger as he opened the cubicle up and stepped inside, leaving the door open for Jacob to follow.
"It'll probably just start working on its own. After a while you realise that this Spa has some pretty high tech stuff, and a good amount of the time it even works the way it's supposed to. I guess I didn't even really think about it. But, if they had needed to give us any instructions, they would have."
Jacob stepped inside, red faced but nodding and smiling at Serling in gratitude once more as they stood together in that confined space, and allowed the glass door to swing shut again, sealing them inside.
Of course, it was only then as Jacob looked around, his body already visibly relaxing at the knowledge he was getting his stress seen to in some regard, and asked Serling a very simple question that something occurred to the coyote. Something his own level of complete familiarity and comfort with the Spa and its ways had made him not even consider questioning until now, but which he realised was a big assumption to have made for someone who had earlier said a friend had referred them here.
The tiger's question was simple.
"So... why do they want us to shower together before our massage? Is it... a bonding thing, or, something else?"
And the coyote's question was even more brief and simple, his eyes widening and his heart starting to race a little as he saw the completely nonplussed, unaware expression on the tiger's face.
"Wait, uh... how much did your friend tell you about this Spa? About its massages. About the oil?"
Of course, tilting his head curiously to one side, Jacob answered with the innocence of someone who had no idea why they were being asked a particular question in the first place.
"Just that they gave the most relaxing massages, and it'd really help m-my... my anxiety. Why?"
No sooner had he posed that question, before Serling could answer or indeed before Serling could reach for the cubicle door and try to open it up again in order to give himself more time to adequately explain what was about to happen, a soft hissing escaped from the walls of the cubicle all around them, and from a couple of dozen little holes within the beautifully painted walls, a fine mist not of spray tan, not of water, but of finely aerosolised massage oil began to spray forth over their bodies. The tiger cried out in brief surprise, before laughing and gasping as he found himself being sprayed and rendered slick and glistening from all sides of his furred form, and blushing as he looked instinctively at Serling to see the coyote in the same state, red faced, shifting and turning within the spray, and looking back at him with a mixture of bashful worry and hopeful excitement.
For maybe thirty seconds they stood there in the flow of the shower, standing apart, at least as far apart as they could in the confined space, with their eyes mostly closed and their faces both set in expressions of conflicting calm and tension. Calm because the massage oil being sprayed upon their skin and fur was making them tingle in an oh so complete and relaxing manner, but tense because they didn't feel fully able to relax due to the presence of the other stranger, not just because they were too awkward and unfamiliar to relax themselves, but more because they didn't want to seem overly familiar and risk offending or scaring the other man in any way. After those first thirty seconds though, the spray continued as Jacob opened his eyes to see his fur slickened and stuck down by the oil so much that it looked like it was all running together; his fur coat turning to a smooth, slick sheet as though painted onto him rather than having any texture of its own, and seeing Serling's fur in a similar state. He felt giddy. Drunk. Not just relaxed and calm, but high on life itself, and as he reached out and stroked his own chest fur, whimpering as his furred fingers left trails of rippling colour in his softened flesh, there was no panic, no shock, just a giggle of amusement and wonder in its wake.
"O-ohh... that feels really, really nice... h-how did they... how did I do that?"
He glanced down at his striped left flank, poking a finger at it and wiggling it around, painting with one dark stripe and twirling it, shifting its pattern around as his fur and flesh melded and twisted at his behest. He looked up at Serling, who was squirming on the spot, wiggling back and forth and staring down at his own feet. The tiger did likewise, and gasped, then giggled again as he saw his feet beginning to soften somewhat, to spread out where they were resting in a small pool of the massage oil where it had dripped and run down their bodies to the surface of the enclosed cubicle. They looked like they were starting to melt. Like he was starting to melt. But, he wasn't afraid. He was surprised, yes, but... there was no fear, no imminent sense of death or doom, and as the coyote giggled and whimpered happily again, he realised that not only was Serling not afraid either, but he seemed to know that this might happen.
"It gets better..."
The coyote murmured in elation as he stood there, rocking back and forth as his whole body began to soften, to slowly drip and dribble as he was gently liquefied by the massage oil filling the air around them, being breathed into their lungs and coating every inch of their bodies externally already.
"Just wait for the massage, when... when someone squeezes you. Stretches you. Balls you up and... m-mhh, kneads you like dough. You won't even be able to remember what being nervous, or stressed out feels like, even if you tried."
Jacob's eyes widened.
"That good? R-really?"
Serling giggled, murmured contentedly once more at the mere thought of it, and nodded to the tiger. What Jacob said next though, glad as Serling was that the tiger was responding all too positively to the surprise of what the Spa's secret massage oil could do for its valued clients, surprised him immensely.
"W-would... would you..."
The tiger started to speak, seemed to think better of it with a shake of his head, but a few moments later as another misting spray of soothing massage oil hit them both he was propelled back into action by a renewed wave of contentment and comfort.
"...would you s-show me? Hold me... s-squeeze me? I'll... I'd do the same for you, i-if... if you wanted..."
Serling's face glowed scarlet beneath his slick, rapidly liquefying fur. He whined and squirmed on the spot, but not because he was uncomfortable. Not because he wanted to say no and felt as though the tiger had crossed a deeply inappropriate line with his question. Quite the contrary in fact. He was overwhelmed with just how intensely he wanted to say yes. With how desperate he was to share this feeling with the tiger who had never experienced it before, and of course, to experience some of that same soothing squishiness himself before they actually got to their massage later on. And of course, he could only assume this was the point of the shared shower. To let the two participants massage and squeeze and rub one another to melty, gooey satisfaction. Sure, it kinda assumed they knew one another well enough to want to do so already. But, if he felt like he wanted it to happen, and if Jacob was asking the question... did they really need anything more than that?
Did they need anything more than to know that it would feel amazing, and that they would bring themselves, and each other a lot of happiness by sharing it, no matter how intimate, how bold and how shameless an act it was for two strangers to share?
The answer to that question appeared to be no, because just seconds later the two men practically flung themselves into one another's embrace with a wet squishing. Arms roamed, hands squeezed and rubbed. Blushing, whimpering muzzles nuzzled at necks, shoulders, even the other man's dripping, softening face. And as their naked bodies rubbed wholly and completely up against one another, grinding, rocking, entwining as the pair more rapidly began to liquefy under the increased pressure of their mutual massage, all that Serling and Jacob could do was stare past one another's flushed, embarrassed faces into the other man's wide, joyously content and worry-free eyes, and whimper, whine, and giggle to each other in pure, blissful gratitude. All they could do was thank one another wordlessly, then silently as their quivering forms were reduced to nothing more than an intermingled pool several inches deep on the cubicle floor, and revel in the comfort, the relaxation, and the intimacy they had granted themselves until the hissing of the shower's sprays finally ceased... and they heard a deep, familiar to Serling voice speak up from beyond.
"Okay, love-birds. Time for your massage. And, by the end of it... I promise you, you'll not just feel closer to one another than you ever have before, but... you won't know where one of you starts, and the other ends."
