The Queen and Her Alpha
#1 of The Queen and Her Alpha
Chapter One
Ashryn-
Spring time on Kraus meant everyone was outside all day. The only season that guaranteed sunshine. After such a harsh winter, spring was something everyone looked forwards too.
Ashryn Alpin laid in her bed within the walls of Castle Lyon. She was Queen of Lyonhall Keep. A massive village of over a thousand Humans, Elves, and Lycans surrounded her family's castle. Ruling for 130 years, she was well on her way to becoming the Keep's best Queen. The villagers thrived, farmlands plentiful, and trade with other Hold's were at an all-time high. Everyone within Lyonhall Keep had a great life and once word spread how great it was, family's from all over traveled to join her Keep. Ashryn lead with a strong fist but understood well that not every choice could be won with a fight.
Ashryn's father, Faelyn, had pronounced her a King when she took over as Queen. Save face with other Hold's as well as continue their bloodline within these walls. Ashryn hated Toper. He was rude, unkind, and remarkably small minded. Only thinking within their own walls. He was a human and with Ashryn being an Elf, all she had to do was outlive him. Her wish was granted and Toper passed in his sleep 4 years ago now.
Just a year after his death Ashryn fell in love with her Alpha guard. The first time she had ever actually felt her heart sing to another. Oddly enough, a Lycan male she had kept close to her even when Toper was alive. She pronounced her Alpha King to stand at her side but she was the one ran the entire Keep. A lot of other Holds disagreed with her choice. Lycans in other areas were treated as slaves or lower citizens. Cast out and killed for anything, Lycans ran to Lyonhall Keep for sanctuary and to enjoy living out their lives. Ashryn walked her own path and refused to listen to anyone's plans for herKeep. She was Queen and an Alpha male Lycan was her King.
Kiara Black was Ashryn's right hand-man. She had been beside Ashryn for years. A trusted friend and superb human being. Kiara was in charge of assisting the Queen in anything and everything she needed. Including, wake up times.
"M'lady?"
Ashryn stretched out in her bed hearing Kiara call to her.
"I am awake Kiara. What news today?"
"Spring is here M'lady. The grounds sing with new life and wonder."
Ashryn sat up and rubbed her face a few times before gazing over at Kiara. She was a simple looking human. Her black hair was always pulled back behind her head. Framed her brown eyes making her look younger than she was. Kiara smiled over at her and said.
"You have no requests for today ma'am."
"Good. Are the Guru training this morning?"
"Yes. Out beyond the castle. Looking for your King?"
"He spent the night with his family."
Ashryn climbed out of bed and stretched out her limbs.
"I'll gather him a bit later on. I want to go test the new guards. See how my Guru are doing."
"Yes M'lady."
><
Ashryn dressed in her normal clothes. Her Queen robes too long to toss and tumble with the Lycans. Simple cloth pants and a cloth halter top. She was a 220 year old Wood Elf. Bit on the shorter side at a solid 5ft it was her striking green eyes that usually caught anyone's attention. Fierce was not the word for how Ashryn looked. Many times all she had to do was stare down someone and they would submit to her.
Heading out of her castle Kiara trailed behind her quickly. Ashryn greeted everyone she came into contact with. Human, Elf, and Lycan alike. Her family was the first to try and integrate different races together under one Hold, and it worked beautifully. Her Keep flourished under her control. Life was good.
"Good morning Queen Ashryn."
An older Lycan female approached her with a smile on her muzzle. Ashryn returned her smiled and stood with her.
"Morning Thea. How is your leg?"
"Much better. Getting too old to be chasing these younglings around."
Thea was an older nanny Lycan. In charge of watching and teaching all the children of the Keep. Ashryn remembered her from own her childhood. A strong and wise teacher, fair but strict.
"Time to retire?"
"Never."
Thea laughed and held out a small bundle.
"For you M'lady. My first batch of sweet logs."
Kiara took the bundle as Ashryn held Thea's paw.
"Thank you Thea. You know I always look forwards to your sweet logs. But I must get going. I have Guru to test and a King to wake."
Thea laughed nodding her head.
"As always M'lady. Have a blessed day."
"You as well."
><
Ashryn tested every single one of her Guru. Lycans who worked as the guards for her entire Keep. Working the Great Wall that surrounded her area to keep everyone safe. She was a fierce fighter and could easily pin Lycan's twice her size. The Duke, Arnold Foster, oversaw each Lycan who strived to become a Guru. Arnold was an Elf as well. Taller than Ashryn at 6ft tall, he looked like a normal Elf. Blond hair and blue eyes he was well sought after within her Keep.
Ashryn approached Arnold just outside the training barracks. He smiled as she came over.
"Morning M'lady. What do you think of our new Guru?"
"Perfect. Couldn't beat me but I digress."
Ashryn joked. She was swift and could always outrun her guards. Arnold held out his papers and asked.
"Where is King Luka?"
"With his parents."
Ashryn answered signing the new Lycans into the guard.
"Now that I am done here, I can go return our King to the castle."
Arnold took the papers back and Ashryn asked.
"What are our numbers now?"
"We have sixty four full time Guru and about twenty part timers. We are finally able to cover each area of the Great Wall evenly."
"Wonderful."
Ashryn gazed out around to the several Lycans running drills and felt a small ping of loneliness. She missed her own Lycan. Turning to Kiara she said.
"I am off to gather Luka. Head back to the castle and take over for me. I'll return before noon."
Kiara bowed her head and left to do her duties. Ashryn looked to Arnold and said.
"We have our Council gathering tonight. Right before sunset. Bring the new information on our Guru and our new child count."
"Of course M'lady."
Ashryn said her goodbyes then went to find her King.
><
Most Lycans were housed in barracks near the farmlands. More wild and much better farmers it was the humans and elves who worked within the village. Ashryn made her way to a small hut just resting beside a large cornfield. An older black male Lycan stood outside working. He was entirely black but the tips of his ears that were starting to grey. Ashryn came over and tugged at his tail.
"Good morning Borgan!"
He turned and gave her a toothy smile.
"Always excitable in the mornings. How does my son put up with you?"
"Well it seems."
Ashryn said smiling up at him. He towered over her just like his son. Ashryn adored both Borgan and Ansel. They reminded her of her own parents in a way.
"Where is he?"
"Still asleep. He was out late with a few Guru. Last minute pointers before they meet their slave driver Queen."
Borgan teased. Ashryn laughed and nudged his arm.
"Whatever. You all like it here. I'm going to wake him. Is Ansel inside?"
"No, we are heading into the village."
With that Ansel, Borgan's mate appeared coming out their front door. Her fur color was a beautiful faux red with a white stripe down her entire front. She smiled seeing Ashryn.
"There you are. Bit late today. Usually you are ready to wake him at sunrise."
"I figured let him sleep. I had other things to tend to besides his half-awake/cranky self."
Ashryn hugged into Ansel's furry body as she said.
"Well I left some breakfast on the table for you two."
"Thank you. I should be here when you two return."
"If not we know where to find you."
"Attached to our son's tail."
Borgan said smartly. Ashryn laughed and turned to him.
"Tail, paw, foot, something. As always."
><
Ashryn found her King sprawled out in a bed of hay. His black body was barely visible under all the hay. Ashryn knelt down beside the bed called softly for him.
"Luka..."
A rumbling growl met her ears as the hay shifted before her. She called once more then watched his massive body rise out of the hay. Luka was the biggest Lycan Ashryn had ever seen. He was all black with perfect golden wolf eyes. Standing at 7'3 he towered over anyone he stood with.
Rising to sit out of the hay his sincere eyes met hers.
"Good morning Queen Alpin."
Ashryn smiled at him. She had missed him so much. Not often they were apart and almost never all night.
"Good morning King Rowd. Did you enjoy visiting your family?"
"Yes, it has been too long since I have hunted with my father."
Ashryn loved listening to his voice. Like velvet thunder. Still falling for him each day.
"Glad you had fun."
He moved closer to her his muzzle nudging into her hands. Ashryn petted his large head sweetly. Running her finger tips over his exposed canines.
"My Draug...how I've missed you."
His jet black lips pulled back as he let out a soft and kind growl.
"I've missed you too. I won't leave your side for a long time."
"Good. Are you ready to head back?"
"Did you test the Guru already?"
He asked lifting his head to look at her. Ashryn nodded and touched his nose.
"Yes. You do not disappoint with your picks of Lycans. Ever."
"They will be protecting you and everything you hold dear."
A fierce look crossed his eyes and Ashryn smiled as he spoke.
"They must be perfect."
"That's why I have trust in you. Let's head back."
Luka agreed and stood up out of the hay. Ashryn watched the straw fall from his fur as he stretched his full 7 feet tall.
"Yes, I've missed your paws clicking behind me in the castle."
He smiled and freed his long black mane of hay.
"I won't leave again for a while."
Ashryn came right over to him and adjusted his brown loin cloth around his hips.
"Swear?"
"Swear."
He rumbled gazing down at her. Ashryn ran her fingers through the fur covering his strong torso then met his eyes.
"I trust in you. Let's go home."
><
Ashryn roamed her castle grounds before noon with Luka behind her. Luka's parents came first 10 years ago then Luka 6 years ago. He quickly rose to the top of the Guru and eared not only the Alpha position there but, for the entire Lycan race within Lyonhall Keep. He had caught Ashryn's eye his first year. Strong and swift he protected her land without question. When King Toper passed Ashryn jumped to take Luka as her King. He was surprised when she came onto him for the first few times. Loyal and an amazing Guru, he thought himself unworthy. Ashryn quickly put a stop to that and now they had been together for 3 years. She adored him and his family was the only family to speak with her out of turn. She loved his parents and they accepted her without question. Proud of their son.
Ashryn was the first to bring a Lycan into royalty but with her family's history of accepting Lycans, it was not a surprise to many within the Keep. Quite a few times Luka had been seen sneaking out of the Queen's window. When they were named King and Queen the village mumbled with "about time" and other sweet words.
Outside of Lyonhall Keep the words were not so sweet. Lycans were used as slaves as well as treated like an subspecies. Hearing an Elf taking a Lycan was unheard of and shameful. Many Elves shunned the Alpin name and wanted nothing to do with Lyonhall. Humans were no different. Shameful to accept a Lycan into any level of family. It was sinful alone to interact with one in a caring manner. Trade with Lyonhall lost a few friendly villages but Ashryn only wanted to deal with Holds that either didn't care or were on her side. Lycans were beings no different than any other.
Luka was in charge of all the Lycans within the Keep as Ashryn ran everything else. It worked well and kept all happy. Ashryn's main goal.
Spring was not a busy time for either of them. Crops starting, new children entering school, other Holds recovering from the brutal winter dared not attack. Ashryn enjoyed pacing her halls. Greeting her workers or watching the grounds. Luka followed along with her a silent shield behind her. She looked to him watching his eyes scan out a window to the grounds below. Smiling suddenly Ashryn gave his bushy tail a gentle tug.
"Draug..."
His serious eyes pinned to hers which just made her smile more.
"Yes my Queen?"
She moved into his body, nestling her cheek against his stomach.
"I have missed you and I've asked you not to call me that."
"I don't know much Elvish."
He chuckled wrapping his furry arms around her.
"I missed you too. I was only gone a night."
"I know...it's just nice to miss someone for once. I couldn't wait for Toper to leave. Everything is different with you."
"I am glad you think me worthy to love."
Ashryn pulled away and smiled up at him.
"Worthy of many things. My heart sings for you Draug...my wolf. Let's go eat together."
><
As the sun started to set on another day Ashryn and Luka made their way to the council gathering. At the start of spring Ashryn met with handpicked council members. Two Lycans, two Elves, and two Humans. Her grandfather had named the Lycans and Elves but seeing as how humans live much shorter lives, Ashryn had chosen them six years ago.
They went over how well the Keep was doing. Which Holds were set for trading for the year, among other things. Ashryn changed into her royal robes then headed for the gathering. Kiara joined them as they entered the hall.
Luka never shifted to his human form. An older Lycan he was only able to stay human for a short time. He remained in his full Lycan pelt and loin cloth. A towering and imposing force. Ashryn sat on her throne with the 7'3ft tall Lycan standing beside her. As it should be. Arnold came over to her and knelt down out of respect.
"Evening M'lady. M'lord. I have given the council our numbers and Guru count. We will start shortly."
Ashryn nodded and looked to him.
"Let's not have this run on all night. I have other things to tend to."
"Of course."
He bowed his head and went off into the crowd. Luka looked down to her and asked.
"What else must we do tonight?"
"Later King. It is for our eyes only."
Luka nodded and Ashryn turned her eyes to Kiara.
"Not to be rude to you, Kiara."
"Never Ma'am."
Kiara shook her head surely. Ashryn nodded and stood to start the gathering. She was weary of being out and about. Time to move this along.
"Let's begin."
Arnold settled the crowd and stood before his Queen.
"Our walls are solid. We now have enough Guru to control all corners of our home. Sixteen children from all races have entered our schooling. The people feel safe to continue family lines."
"Trade routes are promising for this year."
Council member Ragnar, an older Elf spoke up.
"A few new Holds have popped up during the winter. They wish to enter our walls."
"Normal testing."
Ashryn replied.
"Vet them first. I will not have my people spoken ill of, while in their own homes."
"Of course your majesty."
Ragnar bowed his head.
"We do have on interesting bit of information. Members of the Crystal Keep wish to open a trade route."
Ashryn folded her arms and looked hard at Arnold.
"Are they not the Hold who attacked us three years ago?"
"Yes M'lady. A new King has rose to power."
Arnold answered quickly. His eyes to the floor.
"They wish to organize a meeting. Apparently they have suffered through the winter."
Ashryn took a moment to think it over then looked to Luka. He bared his teeth in a low growl meeting her eyes. She looked back to Arnold and said.
"Very well. No more than 3 and impose that I am...distrustful."
"Of course Ma'am."
Arnold bowed and moved on to their next order of business. Ashryn found her mind wandering as Arnold spoke. Luka went once a year to hunt and spent time with his parents and she always missed him horribly. Her hand mindlessly moved over Luka's large paw. He let out a soft grunt and moved closer to her. She turned and spoke softly to him.
"I am happy to have you back beside me."
"Where I belong."
He whispered back to her with a smile. Ashryn nodded and looked to Kiara.
"Take over for me. I am weary."
"Yes M'lady."
Kiara bowed and Ashryn left with Luka behind her.
As they went into the hall towards the master bedroom Luka nudged his muzzle into the fold of her neck.
"I am happy to lay beside you again my Queen."
Ashryn let out a soft laugh and nudged him away. He was so gentle.
"Missed me King?"
He moved in front of her stopping her pace. She looked up at him and watched him smile at her.
"Yes."
"Just yes?"
"I look forward to showing you how much I have missed you."
He rumbled his words out closing what little space there was between them. Ashryn reached out and danced her finger through the fur on his strong chest. Her own time alone last night could not compare to how Luka made her feel. A warmth flowed through her veins as she felt his body vibrate with a growl.
Smoothing her hand down his stomach to his waist, she toyed with the thin strap of his loin cloth. Knowing what he hid away beneath it would take her breath away.
"Do you think I'd allow such a fierce Lycan to mate with the likes of me? An heir of the goddess herself?"
He leaned down and looked her directly in the eyes. Ashryn's breath hitched in her chest for a moment. Seeing his eyes go violent. His dominant side coming out.
"You say yes or I take what is mine. Either way, I will be pleased."
A shiver raced through her body as she held eye contact with him. The warmth from before now seeping into her entire body.
She was always the strong and tough type outside their room. Luka following her orders better than most of her staff. But when they were alone, Ashryn sometimes let Luka's primal side out. She knew the stories of how violent and aggressive Lycans could be, it excited her even before she had ever lain with one.
"Yes my King."
She purred her words out letting a wicked smile cross her face.
"Anything for you."
Luka bared his sharp teeth, his thick tongue lapping out of his mouth. Obviously pleased with her response. They would have fun tonight.
><
Ashryn bathed once she arrived back to the master bedroom. The large clawed foot tub was one of her favorite spots in the entire castle. Many times in childhood she would be found lounging in the same tub, advoiding her duties.
She laid half submerged reading a book for a while, until she heard the door creak open.
"Luka?"
His furry muzzle poked into the door and he smiled at her.
"Clean yet love?"
"Almost. Maybe a few more pages."
She teased gazing over in his direction. Luka stepped into the bathroom his clawed paws clicking on the stone as he walked towards her. Setting her book down Ashryn held a hand out to the massive animal before her. Luka knelt down beside the tub and took her small hand in his large paw. She smiled at him and said.
"I love you...and before you...I hadn't known what love was."
Luka chuckled and gave her hand a small squeeze.
"I will continue to show you what love is until you grow tired of me, M'lady."
"I'll never tire of you M'lord. Never."
Ashryn leaned over and kissed his paw.
"We are spirit bound."
Luka nuzzled her ear as he stood up out of her reach. Ashryn trailed her eyes up his body watching his fur covered muscle ripple as he moved. She thought he was an amazing looking Lycan. Her eyes settled on his brown loin cloth, knowing what he hid so well.
"How is it such a small loin cloth hides what you proudly own?"
He laughed and reached down to touch her face.
"When I am not wrapped up in thoughts of you, I have no problem hiding away."
"Let's be truthful here Luka."
Ashryn stood up in the tub and held his paw against her cheek.
"When do you not think of me?"
He laughed again and caressed her cheek with his thumb.
"Even in my dreams you dance through my thoughts. Stunningly beautiful and so wild."
She watched his eyes trail down her naked frame, a lustful sound leaving his mouth. Ashryn laughed and pushed him away so she could climb out of the tub.
"Stop."
"No."
He advanced on her, wrapping a long towel around her as he hugged her. Ashryn let out a small smile allowing him to wrap his arms around her. Standing at 7'3 it was easy for him to curl her away from the world. She felt his paws run down her bare back as her body pushed into his.
"Are you ready to show me how much you've missed me?"
Luka grunted moving to gaze at her.
"Is a primal Lycan allowed to touch you in such a way?"
Ashryn gave him a sly smile and moved out of his arms.
"You know before you I had never given any thought to lying with a Lycan. I had heard stories of how...endowed...your race is. How feral you can be. The love marks more scars. Now that I have seen and felt what you can do...I don't think I'd ever go back to my own race again."
His eyes stayed trained on her as she tied the towel around her body and moved to drain the tub.
"I will say Luka...that knot that you wolves have...if I had known how good that felt I would have chased you down years ago."
He laughed and came back over to her side.
"It is for breeding. Locks the male and female together so other males cannot take her."
"Locks us together pretty good and I am no wolf."
Ashryn felt heavy now, her desire for him mounting. Speaking of his physique made her insides burn.
"And I get to enjoy a whole minute ending because of it. If only others would try what I have tried. I am sure Lycans would integrate perfectly into society."
She watched him laugh again. His head shaking in disbelief.
"You are amusing Ash. Humans think it a sin to be locked to a Lycan like that."
"Well...good thing I like sinning and am not human either."
Her sly words only making her own ache build. Luka's golden eyes sparkled as he stared down at her.
"Good for me you are a wonderful Elf."
His paw moved to the small of her back and with one easy movement pulled her into his side. His tongue ran the length of her neck, sliding across her jugular vein. Ashryn's eyes fluttered closed. Her hand running up the back of his big thigh. Never dull lying with a Lycan that was for sure.
"I would agree."
His teeth bared against her skin as he growled.
"Come to bed with me my Queen."
"Why? So you can lock us together?"
"And feel your body suck my balls dry."
Ashryn bit her bottom lip at him as her nails dragged down his thigh.
"Go wait for me in our bed my King. I will join you shortly."
Luka gave a deep growl as he turned and left the bathroom. Ashryn's body shivered as she tied the towel around her body. His growly advancements making her blood run cold. She loved being in the throes of passion with him. Unsure their first time just because of his sheer size. Both in height and between his thighs. Being an Alpha male came with many testosterone boosting endowments.
Ashryn slipped a nightgown over her head then went out to rejoin Luka.
"Ah my favorite blue gown covering my favorite elf."
Luka called sweetly from their bed. Ashryn felt her cheeks burn. His skill at making her happy never failing.
"Am I your favorite?"
Luka laid out in bed and smiled over at her. His toothy grin just making her blush more.
"Yes M'lady."
"What makes me your favorite?"
Ashryn slipped into bed beside him and gave him a kind smile.
"Is it sex?"
"More than that."
He laid on his elbow gazing down at her.
"Although it is one of my favorite things to do with my favorite elf."
Ashryn laughed and touched his muzzle.
"I've missed you...so much. Still a strange thought to me. Missing my king while they are gone. Aching to be at your side. Wanting you...buried inside me."
A rolling sound rumbled from Luka's chest as his hazy eyes met hers.
"Would my queen like that now?"
She held eye contact with him as her hand pushed down his stomach to his loin cloth. He rumbled again as she carefully untied the side and let it slide down to the bed between them.
"Yes but let's save the aggressive mating for tomorrow night. Save that beautiful knot for when we both are well rested. I tossed and turned all night without you. I've missed you Draug...won't you care for me?"
"Like no one else can."
He promised nuzzling her neck.
