This story is continuing to be updated thanks to reader interest. I'll post another chapter if/when suitable interest is gained on this one so make sure you fav and comment-- and don't rely on others because you never know when this spin-off will get the axe due to disinterest!

Our protagonist is a 19 year old college student named Kaiden Wilson, a Unity Programme graduate from Vancouver British Columbia, and the odd situation in which he is put thanks to a discovery of yet more versions of earth in the rapidly expanding multiple-reality-stretching world in which this story series takes place. It also introduces several of Kaiden's gryphon partners. The Viddin, as they call themselves are divided into multiple categories based on species, and overworked, over-utilized has one of each.

More personal time between Kaiden and Sokkas that leaves the Human red and the Viddin... pink?

As always, thank you for reading, and I appreciate all the comments and favs I receive.

Chapter 18

Kaiden got Sokkas off twice more with his hand while they were in the shower before they got clean and it was vastly different from his experience in the living room; the gryphon was engaged and eagerly receptive, taking no more than thirty seconds to give into both releases, covering the bottom of the shower with the slick proof of his enjoyment of the Human's ministrations amidst his ardent and vigorous humping into the Human's digits.

Then, surprisingly, Sokkas wrapped a wing around him, pulling Kaiden close for a 'hug' against his large body. After that, it was almost business as usual as the two showered together... almost. As the young man focused on getting himself clean (and put forth almost as much effort in getting the floor of the shower clean too), Sokkas was surprisingly talkative. The normally reserved Viddin chatted much more openly, head feathers puffed out and blue 'mohawk' crest raised.

He began telling Kaiden about how pleased he was with the Human, citing events that had all but been forgotten by the young man, such as a time in class when he took the extra time to verify that the study group was following his explanation on human pollen allergies or the time when Kaiden pulled the entire study group together for a meal in the cafeteria despite the class day already being concluded. They were relatively mundane life events but, for some reason, to Sokkas, they were significant.

As they were finishing their shower and Sokkas was once again returning to silence, Kaiden attempted to push him onward with a joke. "So... you're saying those things are more important to you than me being your Takket?"

Sokkas sprang out of the tub with surprising alacrity despite his large size, skillfully striking Kaiden in the face with the end of his tail. "Yes. If not for those things I would never have had an intimate interest in you, Kaiden. Your dexterous hands and enticing body are of second importance; it is you that I desire."

The word 'desire' issued forth from the Viddin with such a deep-chested rumble that water vibrated off of Sokkas' feathers. The gryphon was unsurprisingly deep, but surprisingly... romantic? It was hard for Kaiden to parse. "Are you sure it isn't just because of the mind-shattering sex?"

Sokkas about-faced, picking Kaiden's towel off its rack with his beak and placing it into the Human's grasp once the shower was turned off. "Takket... it is said that love means taking someone as they are. I know that I make great efforts to stand apart in ways that often turns others from me, but you have not shied away once. You take me as I am, and I find that a trait more valuable than anything."

Kaiden felt his cheeks blush and he took several seconds to dry off his hair, using that time to come up with some kind of worthwhile response. He failed. "So... it wasn't JUST the sex?"

The Viddin actually let out a genuine chuckle. Moving forward, Sokkas gently began preening the Human's hair back into place. "I shall consider that an added bonus."

* * * * *

An hour later found Kaiden and Sokkas snuggling on the living room floor, the conversation having continued for the duration. The Viddin had curled his body into a crescent moon and the Human was able to comfortably recline against the gryphon's ribs. Sokkas had his head in Kaiden's lap while the young man gently stroked his classmate's head feathers, finding particular joy in running his fingers along the length of Sokkas' particularly long cowl feathers-- especially the blue ones.

Kaiden knew that blue was the color of male Viddin of breeding age who were not connected to a Hen. In general, younger males wore something blue such as a scrap of cloth or (among the particularly richly appointed), a necklace or brooch with a sapphire. Among older male Viddin it was a sign of the undesired, life-long bachelor or perpetually unmated. Since a lot of social status was based on virility and clutches sired, blue was not a well-received color. In many ways it seemed so suitable for Sokkas; flying it proudly in the face of common decency.

Lost in such thoughts, Kaiden was surprised when the Viddin's flicking tail lashed against his thigh a moment before Sokkas spoke. "You bring me comfort, Takket."

The simple statement made the Human smile. "Really? It's because of the head massage. It's the head massage, isn't it?"

Sokkas grunted. "Sometimes I wonder if Nittik has granted you his inability to be serious, Zfielt."

Despite smiling at the statement, Kaiden was genuine. "Sorry... but, no, seriously: what do you mean by bringing you comfort?"

The Viddin clenched his hind paws, feline toes cracking as he also stretched his legs. "I do not fear Land Earth quite so much now."

At first Kaiden thought Sokkas was kidding; Plateau Earth was HUNDREDS of times more dangerous than land Earth. When no punchline came, the Human sat up a little straighter. "You're afraid of Land Earth? Why?"

Sokkas raised his head, bumping the top of it under Kaiden's chin, and began rubbing his feathers against it. "Viddin do not do 'new' well, Takket... surely you have noticed. We are stable, and consistent, and steady. Humans are not. Your world is not. Many of us are uncertain about visiting an Earth filled with your machines. Your skies are ruled by metal and smoke rather than feather and fur. Any Viddin who tells you that they are not the least intimidated is lying."

Kaiden raised his hand and stroked the side of his companion's head, mind blank with that reveal. Eventually he came up with something to say. "So that's why you decided to find a way to stay here this semester?"

Sokkas snorted, lifting his head up fast enough that he bonked Kaiden on the chin in objection. "I already told you-- it was because I wanted to learn more rather than teach... but... yes... that IS part of it. Many of our classmates were held back by their parents. You will have noticed that most of our study group are very intelligent... well.. perhaps except for Tral... he really DID score low, though I have no doubt that his mam would have held him back if he'd scored high enough to go to Land Earth this term."

The Human frowned. "But... why? That's not very nice!"

Sokkas chuckled softly, maneuvering his beak so he could place it against Kaiden's cheek, and gave him a 'kiss', complete with mimicked sound effect. "Oh, he did look like a deity-- the perfect balance of danger and charm, he was at the same time fascinating and inaccessible, distant because of his demonstrated flawlessness, and possessing such strength of character that he was dismaying and at the same time utterly attractive in an enticing and forbidden way."

Kaiden could tell that the Viddin was quoting something, but it was so personal that he couldn't help but blush. "I know some races fear Humans... but you're Viddin, Sokkas... YOU'RE the powerful ones.'

Sokkas snorted. "Tell that to someone like Vetlyk; at the first sign of trouble, Humans become far more dangerous. Many parents of Viddin students fear their offspring traveling to Land Earth."

The Human quickly interjected "Despite the fact that far more visitors to Plateau Earth are injured than visitors to Land Earth?"

The Viddin gave a gentle click of his beak in conformation. "Enough that the important students are often maneuvered into positions where they get extra time in the Programme before they have to go."

Kaiden didn't think that Sokkas was lying, per se, but what the Human was hearing went against his understanding of the Unity Programme. "If you get good grades you're supposed to be able to go to the connected Earth and learn about your neighbors directly... like I did. Staying 'just because your parents are worried' isn't how the Programme works."

Sokkas double-clicked his beak in disagreement. "That IS how it works on Plateau Earth, Zfielt'im. I realize Humans do not always acknowledge preferential treatment and systemic favoritism, but it is present here aplenty."

The Human sighed. "Okay... well... assuming what you're saying is true, okay... I guess Vetlyk-- he's supposed to be someone important but--"

Sokkas snorted, huffing enough that Kaiden's body was affected by the movement from the gryphon's expanding torso. "Every one of your study group is someone important... you simply were not made aware of it, Takket."

The Human rolled his eyes. "Well, of course. You're all important to me."

The Viddin let out a lengthy sigh. "No, Kaiden... yes, Vetlyk is the son of a Holruk and has been declared ai'Holruk, but others are Viddin of significance as well."

Kaiden digested that for a moment; Sokkas had already explained that Vetlyk was a 'prince' of sorts, but the title of ai'Holruk was using an defining statement of ai, which indicated a future tense; was Vetlyk more than a LIKELY ruler? That thought caused Kaiden's brain to stall. It was several seconds before he asked a follow up. "But... what about everyone else? I mean, it's not like ALL of our study group--"

Sokkas was surprisingly capable of carrying on a conversation once he got started, and he did so freely. "Nittik and Hahn are diplomat's sons, Prirn is the only son of a prominent entertainer, Kytskir is a scholar's offspring and Tral became the head of his clan when his father died three seasons past."

The Human knew one was missing. "... and what about you?"

The gryphon slowly stood, rising up and leaving Kaiden laying on his back because of it. Sokkas walked in a circle, coming back to lay down atop the Human. Although the young man was pinned, the Viddin kept the majority of his massive weight spread evenly between his talons and paws. When the answer finally came it was no answer at all. "Ask me another time, Takket."

Grunting, Kaiden turned slightly to make breathing easier. "Okay-- whatever. But... why me? Why did all of you end up being in MY study group?"

Sokkas' statement came out in a matter-of-fact and entirely unapologetic manner. "You were within the top decile of your class. When partners were reassigned after the Ilaki and some others left, you were chosen by every family that had the opportunity to choose.

That definitely went against everything Kaiden knew to be true about the Programme. "You're joking... right? We were assigned this group."

The Viddin let out a long sigh. "If you do not believe me you may always ask our classmates when we join them tomorrow."

Kaiden wasn't willing to give up that easily. "I'm asking you now."

Sokkas snorted. "And I will wait until we are all together. It is only right."

Letting out a sigh, the Human realized that he was defeated; Sokkas had an ironclad will and it was readily evident that the Viddin was used to getting his way on topics in which he had no intention of yielding. "Will you at least let me up?"

A playful smirk cracked the Viddin's beak. "No... not unless you help me touch up my feather and fur colors."

Something about the thought of getting to take part in the artistic project was appealing but, at the same time, Kaiden knew it would be a lot of work. He carefully tempered his response. "I thought you have an Ilsit for that?"

Sokkas gently preened Kaiden's hair. "And now I have a Human for that. Do you accept my proposal, or should I plan on staying like this all night and follow up with scheduling a chiropractic appointment for you tomorrow, Zfielt?"

Chuckling, Kaiden gave his companion a pat on the ribs because it was the only place his pinned arm could reach. "I'm fine helping you dye your fur and feathers... I was just curious, is all."

Rising up, Sokkas stepped aside so he was no longer straddling the Human. He let out a short, distinct whistle; a moment later Sogig opened the front door, dropped off a satchel, and left. When Kaiden shot the Viddin a glance, Sokkas simply responded. "I did not say he was not available, only that I have another alternative that I find more to my liking." The gryphon circled him once and then over-leaned with his hind-quarters, bumping himself against Kaiden's shoulder as the young man tried to get back up.

Catching himself before he fell back over, the Human pointed toward the bathroom. "Can we at least go somewhere with tile? I can imagine the Programme won't be too happy if we accidentally dye the carpet."

Sokkas relented, standing back up and trotting over to the bag. Reaching down to pick up the shopping-bag sized container with a talon, the Viddin transferred the straps to his beak so he could carry it with him while still being able to walk on all fours. Most gryphons put the straps around their necks but, considering it was a short trip, Kaiden couldn't begrudge him the easier method. That, and Viddin were excellent ventriloquists since most of their pronunciation came from their throat rather than their nonexistent lips. Sokkas used that physiological trait as he called over his shoulder, full beak not disturbing his ability to speak in the least. "Let us get started before the hour gets late."

Following his classmate back into the bathroom, he was quickly put to use as the Viddin set down the bag and bid him set out the supplies. "You will find fur dye and bleach along with feather bleach and colorant. Black for both, and pink for feathers."

Kaiden verified that the various items indicated were indeed present, setting them on the counter as he checked each in turn, but he paused, holding the pink feather pigment in his hands, looking at it at length. "No blue? Don't you usually color your--"

Sokkas' steely grey eyes gazed at him from behind their mask of black feathers; the red colored flesh surrounding them make his stare quite piercing. "You know that answer, Takket'im. Blue is the color of unattached Cocks. I may not have found a Hen, but I know when I have found that which makes the world more bearable."

A giddy little thrill went up the Human's spine at the matter-of-fact declaration from the gryphon but, a split second after that, concern came washing in. "But... isn't the whole Takket'im-thing what caused the issue in the cafeteria?"

Sokkas gave a double click to his beak, his gaze never faltering. "I know better than to invite trouble, Kaiden'im. I will relinquish you as is proper for HuuStoosk when we are with the rest of our study group, but when we are together the rest of the world does not exist, and you are mine... when others are around, I will not flaunt that you are mine. This is not play and I will not make a game of it. They will not rule my life, and if I choose to wear pink because I have chosen a Human then they will not stop me"

Something about the statement seemed like more than a casual declaration; there was significance to the words. "They?"

The Viddin's dagger-sharp gaze immediately lost focus, as if he suddenly realized he'd been speaking aloud without intending to. Blinking twice, Sokkas ground his beak. "It is unimportant right now, Holrin ak' kur... they are not here... you are."

Although Sokkas had always been the quietest of the group, Kaiden was well aware that the dark-feathered Viddin could be very eloquent when he wanted to be, and the term Holrin ak' kur translated roughly to 'Ruler of my Heart', and the title knocked Kaiden off his game. Still gripping the pink dye, all he could do was question what he'd just heard. "Are... you sure?"

Sokkas took a step closer, raising lowering his head slightly so he could position beak only a matter of inches from Kaiden's nose. "When have you ever known me to be indecisive, Lover-Mine?"

Hearing the Viddin title translated into English somehow made it that much more real and Kaiden felt his entire face break out in a strong blush. Unable to hide his smile, the young man couldn't deny the appeal of something so personal, intimiate, and special with an otherwise insurmountably independent Viddin. "Okay, Sokkas.... 'im."

The gryphon's feathers puffed out in a way entirely uncharacteristic of the usually stoic objectionist. Sliding just a little closer, Sokkas rested his beak on Kaiden's shoulder. "I could get used to hear that, Kaiden'im."

Setting down the fur colorant, Kaiden reached up to slide his arms around the Viddin's thick, feathery neck. "Then I'll work on using it more."

Sokkas pulled back slowly, pausing long enough to brush his beak against the Human's cheek. "So long as you are proper with it, and do not use it to instigate trouble with our classmates. I know others will call you theirs, and what you do during your time with them is up to you, but when we are together our time is ours, and to Pfiech with them."

The casual curse was far from casual for a Viddin. If 'Triech' was the Viddin equivalent to Heaven/Nirvanah then 'Pfeich' was the rough equivalent to Hell-- a condition or place in which none of a Viddin's needs were met and they were beset by discomfort and distress. It really did speak to the antisocial methodology of his companion. Kaiden was happy to redirect the discussion. "Right now it's just us. No sense in focusing on others..." He reached over and picked up one of the dye jars. "Now... show me where to start with all of this."

Considering Sokkas' large size there was a lot of surface area to cover. Fortunately for Kaiden, the Viddin only needed some basic touch-ups rather than a full treatment and so the entire process wasn't as slow-going as it otherwise may have been. Starting with feathers, Kaiden was tasked with reapplying some of the darker colorant to the feathers that lost the pigmentation the fastest as well as getting at new feathers which had come in with Sokkas' natural dark-brown-and-tan patterns. For those, the gryphon walked him through how to bleach them first before applying the pigment.

Sokkas' head was the last part to get the treatment and it consisted mostly of applying a little extra colorant around his beak and then first bleaching then re-coloring his 'mohawk' crest feathers atop his head. Between the bleaching and the pink pigment Sokkas nuzzled Kaiden. "I am glad you said yes, Kaiden'im... it SHOULD be you doing this with me."

Once the feather work was complete Kaiden switched to the fur, which turned out to be far simpler. For most of Sokkas' body it was a simple matter of using an applicator comb and going back over large swaths of fur with the black dye, and then touching up the bleached-white spots with a smaller applicator brush. Kaiden was actually enjoying himself and, when it came time for Sokkas to roll over for some 'underside touch ups', the Human could tell that his companion was very obviously enjoying himself too.

Although the young man was committed to doing a good job for his classmate, Kaiden's eyes continued to get drawn back to the almost-foot of crimson red flesh unabashedly presenting itself from the partially withdrawn sheath... and it wasn't even at its full length! Eventually, during one of his quick glances he saw it grow visibly, and it was accompanied by a soft chuckle from Sokkas; Kaiden's cheeks turned almost as red as his companion's member: he'd been caught.

Trying to save some kind of face, the Human attested "I... I can't believe ALL that was inside me!"

A rumbling, almost akin to a purr escaped the Viddin on the floor in front of him. "I am unable to express the euphoria joining with you brought me, Takket'im. I wish to let your body rest but, you can be assured I look forward to coupling with you again."

Nearing the end of the dye work, Kaiden smiled, setting aside the brush as he ran his fingers down Sokkas' body from chest to abdomen. His fingers meandered through the slightly thicker fur of his classmate's groin; Sokkas made no move to stop him and, in fact, another several inches emerged from the gryphon's sheath, adding to the already intimidating length.

Realizing that the Viddin was no longer as concerned about holding back, Kaiden wrapped his hand as far around the flesh's circumference as it could go, and began satisfying his own desires to fulfill the needs of his companion. Sokkas let out an appreciative squawk, and became an active participant the moment the Human's second hand joined the first, thrusting his hips up to meet each downward stroke and rocking them back against the ground with verve, just to slam them forward again. Kaiden was smugly gratified when, after only a half-dozen strokes, he got the finally-cooperative Viddin to blow his load.

As with most Viddin, despite the already numerous ejaculations that day, Sokkas was quite the producer, and it went everywhere. Thankful for yet another reason they'd been in the bathroom, Kaiden turned his head aside in order to avoid getting Viddin semen in his eyes and carefully maneuvered the pulsating pillar of flesh away from himself; powerful jets of thick fluid struck the sink, the mirror, the wall, and then shower... followed by four more. Sokkas slowly came down off his high, a long, faintly toned exhale escaping him as he did so.

Kaiden slowly removed his hand from the still-rigid flesh, smirking. "I'm glad you're finally willing to let loose."

The Viddin glanced his way, tongue peaking out of his beak as he panted. "Not making you work as hard for it is certainly pleasant on its own merit."

Despite the stickiness, Kaiden laid down atop his classmate, spreading his body out on the Viddin as if he were a mattress. "And my lack of future arthritis thanks you for it."

* * * * *

They spent more time in the bathroom just laying together but, ultimately, Sokkas returned to the shower, both to wash out excess colorant, but also to be clean of rapidly drying seed. Kaiden joined him in it yet again but they did not 'fool around' any further. They spent the time talking, and Kaiden found it gratifying, especially since his classmate spoke with him more that afternoon than every other day they'd been together combined. It was magical in its own merit, sex or no.

It was late afternoon by the time Sokkas had dried off and Kaiden found himself a new uniform (and he discarded the destroyed one). Sogig had returned and prepared them a simple meal for dinner; the Human found it incredibly unique-- not only were the ingredients from Plateau Earth, but no attempt had been made to replicate any kind of cuisine from Land Earth. Although it was simple, Kaiden enjoyed it greatly, and the company with whom he shared it made it even better.

Rather than make his way to his bedroom to sleep, Kaiden curled up with Sokkas on the floor in his living room. Initially reclining against his enormous classmate as he'd done earlier in the day, he eventually found himself surrounded by fur and feathers, pulled even closer to the Viddin. He ended up drifting off to sleep amazed at just how comfortable he could be with his companion, wondering at just how lucky he was to have such a connection... with all of his classmates.

He awoke in the morning feeling that same degree of luxurious comfort. Laying on his back, Kaiden felt the firm-but-yielding, fur-covered lean bulk of Sokkas, who had his wings folded over both of them. Despite having to clothes and no blanket, the young man couldn't imagine having been any warmer. He felt the strong heartbeat of his companion strumming against his back and large lungs taking in slow, steady breaths caused the Human to rise and fall slowly in a sleepy rhythm.

Giving into the enjoyment of the quiet morning, Kaiden was just starting to toy with falling back asleep when Sokkas stirred, his massive body enlarging even further as every one of his limbs splayed out in the kind of stretch reserved for great cats. A vibration combining the purr of a big cat and an almost subsonic rumble was a decidedly pleasant wake-up call, and, following the sound, Sokkas let out a wide yawn, and then began preening Kaiden's hair. "Good morning, Lover-Mine. I hope you slept as well as I."

Kaiden, despite himself, couldn't pass up the chance to get one over on his companion. "I think you were using me as a teddy bear."

Sokkas let out a snort, but it wasn't one of indignation; it was derision. "Preposterous. You would be a teddy-human."

Realizing that he was definitely outmatched at all hours by Sokkas' dry wit and casual disregard for quality back-and-forth banter, the young man just laughed. "Fine. teddy-human."

Giving him one more firm squeeze within the capacity his forelegs would allow, Sokkas ultimately disengaged. "I would advise we get you fed... we should be able to have our classmates rejoin us this morning. As soon as we receive a message on our tablets we should be allowed to go--"

The statement was interrupted when both their data pads chimed in unison, identifying that they each received a notification. Kaiden got to his first, but they looked at their messages together: Kaiden would be able to meet with his classmates in Room 203 at the top of the hour. The two wasted no time in getting ready since the day would undoubtedly be... significant.
