Method:
We captured a mightyena in the wild in the usual way. He seemed to be normally integrated into the pack so we assumed that he was also straight.
Once he was in the pokeball, we brought him back to the lab, already set up prior to his arrival. Upon arrival we released him, but immediately drugged him in order to prep him for the experiment. It took a few minutes for him to fall asleep completely but once he was asleep we had no trouble.
We first needed to make sure that he would be as little of a threat as possible once he woke up, so we placed a muzzle on him. It was made of strong black leather and had three straps that encircled his grey muzzle, a fourth strap began under his chin and ran the length of his muzzle, coming up over the front and continuing to the back of his head. At the back of his head the strap joined with another one that fastened around the back of his head and went along the sides of the muzzle.
Once we had secured his mouth we focused on his body. We harnessed him with a leather harness. It had one strap that went around his neck and also served as a collar due to its D-ring. Attaching at the same place as the D-ring was another strap that went against his chest and met up with the straps that fastened behind his shoulders. Three straps ran down his body, one on each side and a third along his spine, between the two rows of dark fur, and joined together behind his tail, helping to hold it up and provide unobstructed access to his tail hole.
We lifted the bound mightyena onto a fairly long conveyor belt, about five or six times his body length. We then raised the sides of the conveyor belt, which had a movable attachment point that could travel the full length of the belt.
