Well... So I hate waiting, I guess. Here's the first chapter! Much longer than the prologue...by about 10 pages. Tis c.13 pages, little over 8k words, hahah.. Yeah. I really can't stand not posting something I have finished apparently x.x Well, something of my own at least. Hopefully this bit might be a little more interesting to everyone out there!
I'm going to try and focus on this story, as I feel more connected to it than I have some of the others I've posted before... Not to say I wont update those eventually, but this has my attention right now.
Please feel free to comment/critique/etc, I'd love some feedback!
Chapter 1
‾Dinner plans ‾
‾Loud music overflowed from inside a large bi-level home, dozens of furs swaying in complimentary thrall to its ebb and flow. Out on the back balcony, through the wide-open french-doors from which the music originated, were only a few solitary figures as apposed to the mass inside the building proper. One of those few was leaning up against the rail, absently watching another figure down in the main yard - beside the pool that took up most of it - who was speaking to one of the observer's better friends. The owner of this house, and the host of the party, and the one being observed by what was a fox on the balcony, was a husky named Kaine. The fox, Shawn, couldn't help but watch the handsome slightly-older-than-him husky as he interacted with his guests, and didn't notice as a couple of the husky's friends slunk up behind him. He yelped in surprise as a blindfold was placed over his head and he was suddenly lifted up, having no time to react before he found himself plunging into the colder-than-he-figured water of the pool below. What happened between entering the water and climbing out was a blur, though he emerged to the gasps of his own and the laughter of seemingly everyone else who witnessed what happened. With a shuddering huff, the fox clambered his way out onto the poolside; his body shivering in the chill night air in what was mid-autumn at the time. The side that took the brunt of the impact into the water was quite sore once he paid attention to it and the adrenaline of the experience had worn off, and his fur was soaked and hanging heavily off his frame; dripping audibly onto the concrete slab surrounding the pool. Shawn huffed and shook out his fur slightly before cringing at the pain he felt and the dizziness that ensued shortly after, grateful when he felt paws - he assumed one of his friends - pulling him up to stand and wrapping a towel around him. "C'mon, I'll take you home alright?" ‾
Shawn jumped as his phone buzzed in his pocket, the faint noise it made having only barely registered in his distracted vulpine ears, having drifted off in his reverie while listening to music in attempt to calm his nerves. It had been several days since he returned from the forest, but being cooped up inside the majority of that time didn't help his mind settle, and the memory of that event was still fresh in his thoughts even though it had been several weeks now since it had happened. Taking the curved device out of his pocket, he flipped open the cover and checked its notifications.
A text, apparently.
Tapping the icon for it, Shawn opened the message and canted his head curiously as he read it. '13123 E. Westmount Ave. Be here by 4:30 for dinner! -Kaine' the fox closed the phone's case to turn off the screen, slipping the device back into his pocket. "Dinner at Kaine's huh? Wonder how many of his friends will be there... Eh, I dunno... Maybe they wanna apologize about dumping me in the pool? Doubt it... Bah, It's been almost a month now, maybe they've forgotten about me. But what's Kaine inviting me over for then? Well I guess it might be better than sitting here doing nothing, at least. Alright, sure..." Shawn mumbled to himself and sighed, glancing at the time and thinking about his options.'4:30 huh? Leaves me an hour to get there... How long did it take last time, 20 minutes? Catch a shower first.' Shawn nodded and pushed himself up out of his chair, stripping his shirt off over his head and dropping it into the bin just outside the bathroom. His pants and boxers followed soon after, leaving him in just his fur as he stood in front of the tall mirror floating on the wall above the bathroom sink.
Shawn looked himself over for a moment, stretching and watching as his cream and auburn fur rustled over his mostly lithe frame. He couldn't help but admire his figure a little, having worked for over a year to get back into the shape he's in now. He was still fighting the bouts of depression that led him to let himself go to begin with; though now he was doing his best to remain active, which helped quell its formerly effective hold on him. His gaze trailed down to the lowest edge of the mirror, just able to glimpse his sheath before the rest of his body fell below the mirror and disappeared behind the edge of the sink. 'Alright, into the shower we go... before we spend the rest of our time rubbing one out. - Gods I need a boyfriend...' He sighed and shook out his fur, turning away from the mirror and proceeding to take his shower.
Showers for this fox were somewhat of a haven, the hot steaming water pouring over his body was inherently relaxing in itself, but he absolutely loved the feel of it. The way it coursed through his fur and ran over every inch, curve, and line like a subtle massage pulling away all the dirt and grime the day had thrown at him - even if he hadn't really gone anywhere at all. Turning on the tumultuous spray and raising the heat until a steady steam built in the average-sized room, Shawn slowly slid his nude body under its gratuitous flow. He stood there letting the water soak his figure, though shivered deeply as that memory pushed its way back into his thoughts. He raised his muzzle into the stream of water and let the noise and heat bury him and block out the unbidden thoughts, ears folding back flat against his skull to keep the water out. Giving a deep huff, the fox ducked his head under the flow of water and gasped in a few breaths, shaking out his fur to get rid of the icy chill coursing through his body despite the heat.
After catching his breath, Shawn reached down and grabbed his nothing-special-about-it fur conditioning shampoo and squeezed a generous glob onto his paw, snapping the lid closed before replacing the bottle to its home in the wall - a small cubbyhole he assumed was designed for such things even though it seemed barely big enough for the few bottles that took up the space. He turned and faced away from the steamy water, letting out a sighing groan of pleasure as the water soaked straight through the fur all along his back, grateful that the water-pressure here was as high as it was. Regaining his composure after a moment, he began to work the shampoo into his chest and belly, working up a good lather before moving both paws up to scrub from his head down to his shoulders; and once that area was thoroughly scrubbed, he gathered up more and began doing the same to his lower regions from his waist down to his paws. His tail, he took special care in lathering up and scrubbing through, letting his claws dig deep into the mass of soapy fur all the way down to the narrow spire of flesh, bone, muscle, and tendon that gave the otherwise soft and usually fluffy appendage its strength; working all the way from its base to its tip in slow procession.
He took equal care with his sheath and sac, though for different reasons of course; doing his best not to be too sensual with his rubbing and squeezing - failing rather horribly at not arousing himself as his thoughts drifted to a fantasy he always seemed partial to. Groaning and sighing out as he leaned forward against the wall opposite the shower-head, his eyes hazily focused on his growing erection; watching as the indigo-hued flesh escaped its creamy white confines in utter betrayal to his willing it to stay hidden. "Mmmff... Bad boy..." he huffed and bit his tongue, his still soapy paw squeezing tighter around his sheath and sliding up over his exposed length, bringing a breathy whimper from deep within his chest. The fox's whines intensified as he slammed his fist against the wall instead, panting and closing his eyes tight in frustration.
'Why not just get off? It's not like you have alternative means here. - What's the point? - Release! You silly fox... You've gotta learn to relax and enjoy yourself. - Exactly, enjoy Myself! I'm tired of only being able to enjoy myself... Fantasy can only do so much, I need to - You need a lot of things, and one of them is to paint this wall and - No! Not right now... dammit. I'll take my chances being horny, I don't care, its not worth the disappointment right now...' Shawn huffed and growled as his paw returned to his still raging shaft, unable to keep from thrusting against those slick pads a few times before regaining control of himself and turning around, leaning heavily against the wall and panting through the steam-filled air, nearly feeling like he couldn't breathe, though not caring about that in that moment. He dragged his offending paw away and started scrubbing through the fur along his belly and sides with both, working out the sudsy shampoo as the water coursed over his frame and through his fur. It took a frustrating amount of effort, but the fox managed to ignore his obvious want - need really - and take the rest of his shower with only the occasional squeeze and stroke while rinsing.
Thirty minutes after getting in, the flow of water was shut off and the soaked - though now clean - fox reached out a paw and snatched his towel from its hook, sliding the clouded glass door fully open and stepping out onto the bathmat at the foot of the shower. He scrubbed his body down with the soon very damp towel, drying his fur as much as he could with it before shaking himself out again and stepping into the small stall beside the shower, turning on the barely adequate full-body drier.
After spending 5 of his remaining minutes rubbing down his body and dragging claws and a brush through his now mostly dried fur, he stepped out of the stall and headed into his bedroom to get dressed; being sure to enjoy his momentary freedom of clothing by picking out a shirt, boxers, and a pair of pants, and lying them out on his bed before bothering to put any of it on. He then retrieved his phone from his previously discarded pants and checked the time again. "Crap, 4:10 already? I gotta get going!" Once dressed, Shawn hastily made his way out of his apartment and down the flight of stairs into the parking lot; panting lightly once he made the short jog from there to the bus-stop on the main street. As he got there though, he cursed under his breath as he watched the 4:10 bus disappear in the distance. "Damn... gotta wait for the next one I guess."
4:30 came around and the found the fox several blocks from Kaine's place still, a glance to a house on his left reading 12904 for the address. "Dammit... Now I'm late. Ah well, can't be 'that' much further..." Shawn huffed and started running, grateful that the bus had at least dropped him off at the 'top' of the long hill that was the majority of this part of the neighborhood. Shawn may have been to Kaine's house several times before, but he had always gotten a ride from one of his friends. He'd only taken the bus once before that night. Having to actually look for the house he'd been to seemed a rather strange notion, but he never had paid attention to precisely where it was and didn't know any particular landmarks that might give it away - at least, nothing he could see from the street-side.
Panting harder than he'd like, the fox finally found himself standing on the porch of the larger-than-he-remembered-it house, the color of which was obscured by the twilight gracing this time of year by mid-afternoon. He gave himself a moment to catch his breath, a glance at his phone telling him it was closer to 4:40 now. "So... -huff- What's ten minutes? -huff- I'm sure -huff- that I'm not the only o-one late -huff- right?"
Standing more upright and brushing down his shirt and underlying fur, Shawn stepped up and rang the doorbell; listening to the classic chime ring inside at a distance shortly before a shadow appeared at the door, blocking the interior light from its small window. The fox smiled as the door opened and a taller-than-him husky stepped out to greet him, proffering its paw to be shook.
"Hey there! Glad you could make it! Was afraid you bailed on me, hahah!" the husky - Kaine - spoke jovially, giving Shawn's paw a good firm shake when he accepted the offer; and pulled him into a friendly hug as one might a closer-than-he-thought-they-were friend that he hadn't seen in a long time.
"H-heheh, good to see you too. Hope I'm not too late, the bus got caught up in traffic, and I had to run to make it this soon!" the fox half-lied, not wanting to admit he spent more time than he should have enjoying his shower and wound up catching the later bus. He felt lucky that they ran as often as they did, every 10 minutes almost in perfect time.
"Ah, it's fine. I'm just glad you could make it! Lets get inside, I got a new TV recently, figured we could watch a few shows while waiting for the food to cook. 'Course, that idea would've worked 20 minutes ago, the food's only got a little bit till its done now though." Kaine let the fox in past him, and closed the door before guiding him into the living-room.
"Huh... It looks different without all those people over. Where is everyone anyway?" Shawn was looking around the room admiring the size of it, the dark colored walls and vaulted ceiling, a plush sofa nestled in the middle of the room directly in front of a large stone-lined fireplace that was obviously the centerpiece of the room, other seating lined the wall on either side of it, but the couch was big enough for at least 5 furs, even including some of the husky's more bulky friends.
"Others? It's just us tonight bud, I invited you over to dinner, not a party!" Kaine chuckled and rubbed the fox's shoulder before heading off towards the kitchen. "Feel free to find something to watch, I'll just be finishing up some things in here."
"Oh! Um... Alright." Shawn gave a nod and a smile, to which the husky waved and busied himself in the kitchen. The fox plopped himself down into the couch and relaxed, finding himself surprisingly comfortable, though feeling unsure about where the night was headed now that he knew no one else was showing up. The only times he'd been here in the past, there had been at least a dozen other furs filling the room and the deck outside, he'd never spent even a moment with just Kaine by himself. Ignoring the gnawing uncertainty he felt in his gut - or maybe he was just getting hungry, actually - Shawn picked up the remote off the end-table and turned on the - apparently new - big flat-screen that hung above the currently dormant fireplace; flipping through several channels before settling on something that seemed vaguely interesting.
‾ ‾ ‾
Another 20 minutes passed by with Shawn finding himself more interested in what the next show had to follow up its predecessor, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and ears perked toward the flat-screen.
"Hey Shawn, C'mere! I got something to show ya!" Kaine called out, grabbing the attention of the fox sitting on his couch; formerly engrossed in some random documentary. Shawn stood and stretched, letting a quiet yawn escape his slim vulpine muzzle before regaining his composure.
"Oh? What'd ya do, get a new grill or somethin?" the perplexed fox padded his way into the kitchen where Kaine waited, the husky blocking his view almost instantly with a blindfold and chuckling.
"No, not a new grill. Just a surprise that I think you'll enjoy! You trust me, right?" Kaine grinned as the fox gave a slight nod and nervously laughed at his antics. "Good! This way then." he said with a smile, resting a paw on Shawn's shoulder and guiding him towards the french-doors leading out onto his deck. "Watch your step bud." he mumbled as they passed through the doors, keeping a firm paw on the fox's shoulder to help steady him.
"What's all this about Kaine? If you've got somethin to show me, why the blindfold?" Shawn chuckled and tried to peak under the blindfold, though Kaine quickly clasped a paw over it to stop him. Despite the fox's slight - honestly huge - infatuation with the husky, his trust was a bit shaken still.
"Hey now, You said you trust me, so trust me! No peaking! You have no idea how long this took to set up so you wouldn't see it coming." the husky couldn't keep the grin off his muzzle as Shawn gave a sigh and dropped his paws to his sides.
"Alright, alright... I trust you! Just don't, ya know, toss me in the pool or anything!" the fox gave a nervous laugh at that, the memory of the husky's friends tossing him off this very same balcony making his breath catch slightly in his throat.
"Oh don't bring that up again... It wasn't even me! Just cuz it happened at my house with me standing there laughing at the look on your face when you..." Kaine's voice trailed off with a chuckle, though he stopped himself from reminiscing too much when he heard his friend whine, deciding to spare the fox's feelings. He 'did' feel bad about it, but damn Shawn was a sight to see when he clambered out of that pool!
"So what's this big secret surprise anyway? And why invite just 'me' to dinner? Didn't even know you had my number..." Shawn perked his ears and scented the air, the faint acrid smell of smoke tickling his whiskers. As far as he was aware before tonight, the husky hardly knew him. All this seemed rather peculiar to him the more he followed along because of that.
"Oh be patient! It's nothing bad, I swear!" Kaine chuckled and patted Shawn's back. "Now, just hold here a moment will you? I'll be right back. And no peaking!"
Shawn sighed and gave a faint "Alright..." before he felt the warmth of the husky's paw leave his shoulder, causing him to sway slightly in place. He clasped his paws in front of himself to keep from giving-in to the temptation of removing the blindfold. _'I'd smell it if anyone else was with him anyway... I'm pretty sure... I'd definitely hear it. Yeah, this is fine... - You have no idea what he's gunna do, and you're here by yourself with someone you barely know! - Oh shut it, he seems nice enough - Alright... alright, fine. - Worst that could happen is... no I'd rather not consider those options, actually.'_Shawn argued with himself as he waited, though jumped a little when he felt the - he assumed - husky rest a paw on his shoulder again to guide him forward.
"Here we are, there's a chair right here alright?" Kaine mumbled as he pulled the chair out for the fox, sliding it back in gently once Shawn stood in front of it. "Just sit back, its a normal chair, no tricks!" He could tell Shawn was getting nervous, though smiled as the fox showed his trust - even if it was a wary trust. Kaine moved around to the other chair seated opposite the fox, slipping into it. "Ok, go ahead and take it off."
Shawn canted his head in confusion, though reached his paws up to undo the blindfold and slip it off his eyes. After blinking several times and letting his eyes adjust to the dim - though brighter than he anticipated - light, the fox nearly froze in place; slowly lowering his paws into his lap while he stared out over the quaint little candle-lit dinner for two adorning the table before him; complete with covered food-platters. Across from him, the husky grinned and perked his ears up. Shawn couldn't help but blush under his fur, wondering how obvious the heat building in his face and ears was to the husky. "I-I... W-what is all this... ?"
"Dinner, obviously! You like? I've been trying to figure out a way to do this for about two months now... I couldn't exactly ask you directly, of course. One of your friends I managed to ask said you seemed the uh... romantic sort, so I thought maybe you'd appreciate a dinner and quiet evening in, rather than going out somewhere." Kaine chuckled. "I hope I wasn't misled, this could be rather awkward in that case..."
"N-no! I uh, I mean... crap... what friend? I do - I mean of course, h-he's right... I just, never expected..." Shawn struggled to find anything coherent to say, staring dumb-founded at the clearly - "Is th-this a -"
"A date? Well I'd kind of like to think it could be, If you're up for that?" the husky smiled and splayed his paws out on the table, bringing Shawn's attention back to the clearly romantic meal and setting the husky had obviously taken great care in setting up for him - or for them, more accurately.
Shawn watched as Kaine rose from his seat and moved over, removing the lids from the platters to reveal two equally portioned meals consisting of a fillet of seasoned salmon, some kind of rice, baby-reds and asparagus-shoots. The fox bit his tongue as he felt his stomach growl at him, reminding him that he was - in fact - hungry, and this would do quite nicely to sate that; even if his distracted mind was far from thinking about the deliciously prepared meal and the scent wafting up driving his forgotten stomach crazy with want. "I- I don't know what to say, I..."
"I know, I realize we've hardly spoke in the past but... you've been to every party I've thrown this past year and I couldn't help but notice you, especially after..." his voice trailed for a moment "after that incident, heh. Sorry about that, by the way, I really am. Those guys can be jerks... But, I really would like to get to know you better, and I thought maybe... this would be a good start? Away from all the noise of a party, or the bustle of the city in a crowded diner." Kaine gave a warm, hopeful smile as he slid back into his seat opposite the fox, not taking his eyes off Shawn's bewildered expression and happily noting to himself the blush that shown quite obviously in his fluffy vulpine cheeks and ears. "Whadaya say? Is this a date? I'd really like it to be. It's ok if not, we can just... have a normal dinner and hang out, if that's what you'd prefer. Pretend I never did this and that everyone else is just 'really' late to show up." he chuckled, though more halfheartedly than his usual jovial expression.
"I... think I'd like that." Shawn said quietly as he looked up, though winced at seeing the husky's expression drop just slightly, before he added "A date, I mean! I'd like this to be... a date." he hesitated, though only just, until he saw the husky's expression return to its normal happier demeanor.
"Oh! Perfect! Well, lets eat then, hahah." Kaine smiled brightly and picked up his knife and fork, though waited politely for Shawn to start eating before he joined in.
‾ ‾ ‾
The dinner went by with only the occasional pause for conversation, Shawn complimenting the husky's cooking and a few pleasantly exchanged stories; the candle-light flickering between them slowly dwindling while the twilight of dusk turned into night; the few stray clouds on the horizon burning brightly before a cool blanketing bluish black covered the sky. When they had both finished eating, Kaine blew out the candles and stood, gathering up the platters and - with the fox's insisting help - carried them into the kitchen to be set on the island counter beside the sink.
When Kaine turned to pad his way into the living room, he was stopped by the fox who - standing nearly on his claws to reach - gave a shy, quick kiss to his host's muzzle; after which he absently licked his own lips and savored the almost sweet tangy remnant flavor of their meal.
"I just... wanted to say thank you, for the dinner. For inviting me over like this..." the fox smiled an splayed his ears in a shy expression. Kaine returned the smile and offered his arm - which Shawn took - and led his date into the living room, stopping at the couch.
"Go ahead and have a seat, I'm gunna get the fire going. Er... if you wanna relax here with me for a while?" Kaine perked his ears and looked to Shawn expectantly. Shawn smiled and gave the husky a nod, slipping up onto the couch and loosely hugging one knee to his chest. Kaine wagged his tail slowly and turned his attention to the fireplace, only taking a minute or so in managing to light it; once done, he closed the screen around it and returned his attention to the fox on his couch. He chuckled and smiled noticing Shawn watching him and seeing the wag in his tail. The husky moved to sit in the corner of the sofa with several cushions behind him for support, sitting facing the fox with one leg propped up and the other hanging over the edge of his seat. "You up for cuddling up in front of a fire? We could watch a movie or somethin." the husky asked with an inviting look.
Shawn couldn't help but giggle as he crawled across the couch and snuggled in against the slightly-bigger husky, lightly hugging his arms around Kaine's torso and resting his head on the husky's shirt-clad chest. "I'd love to cuddle for a while... Movie or no movie. Thank you again for dinner, it was lovely. This whole evening has been great!"
Kaine wrapped his arms around the smaller male and smiled, nuzzling lightly between his ears with a contented sigh. "You're very welcome Shawn, I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far, I'm really glad you decided to accept my offer! I wasn't really sure you would to be honest... " he mumbled the last part while gently massaging over Shawn's back, up and down in slow circles; enjoying the warmth of the fox nestled up against him. He couldn't contain his grin as he heard Shawn's quiet moans and sighs, obviously enjoying the attention.
"M-mmnh... it's been ages since anyone's given me a massage. It feel's so goo- ohhh.hh..." Shawn's voice hitched as the husky kneaded his knuckles more firmly into his tense muscles while he spoke, bringing a deeper groan as the fox found himself completely relaxing into Kaine's inviting form; only faint huffs and whines escaping from him at that point as his eyes drifted closed. He felt his ears splay around the shape of Kaine's muzzle, gentle licks and nuzzles relaxing him even more, almost lulling him to sleep along with the steady rhythm of the husky's heart-beat and breath in his chest.
Kaine wagged his curly tail gently and hugged the fox's relaxed body close, keeping him warm and comfortable in his embrace while lightly grooming his head-fur and ears. He chuckled when he noticed Shawn's reaction to that, the quiet whimpers with each ear-lick and its corresponding twitch and flick was the most adorable thing the husky could remember witnessing in that moment. He decided to say as much, realizing that. "You're adorable, you know that?"
Shawn blushed and hugged his pillow-of-a-husky tighter. "And you're incredibly comfortable..." he mumbled quietly, though loud enough that he was sure Kaine heard him. Feeling the husky squeeze him tight for a moment in return made Shawn smile and let out a happy sigh. ' This night is perfect... - It could be better though - Oh shut it! You're curled up in the lap of a handsome, soft, warm guy who's been nothing but a gentleman - Tonight, at least - yeah yeah... so he laughed, you would have too, probably. - touche'...' he sighed and huffed quietly, though winced as he felt Kaine stop rubbing his back as he apparently had begun to again. 'Crap... did I do something?'
"Hey you alright? You growled for a moment there." Kaine asked quietly, concern prevalent in his voice. "I didn't hurt ya did I?"
'I did? - yeah, when you yelled at me. - dammit...' Shawn bit his lip for a moment and glanced up. "I'm sorry, I didn't even realize I growled..." he gave a faint whine and nuzzled into Kaine's chest, receiving a light smile in return, though the husky still seemed concerned.
"Heh, it's alright. I didn't though, did I? Hurt you I mean?" Kaine seemed hopeful as he stared down into Shawn's crystal blue eyes, his own emerald orbs bright in the fire-light, dancing with the flame's reflection.
Shawn found himself mesmerized by those gorgeous eyes as he stared up into them, letting out a slow, drawn out breath as he spoke. "N-no... I uh, I was... jus-" the fox's heart skipped a beat when he realized that Kaine's muzzle was so close to his, their noses almost touching; until the husky tilted his head and their lips met in a gentle, warm and tender kiss which prevented Shawn from saying anything more. He let out a faint whimper as Kaine slowly withdrew his muzzle and smiled, giving the fox's nose an affectionate lick to top off the kiss. "-t thinking a-about something..." Shawn mumbled under his breath once he regained the ability to speak and his brain wasn't as much of a jumbled mess of incoherent thoughts.
Kaine chuckled and squeezed his arms around Shawn's warm figure, the heat he felt in the fox's chest against his belly having intensified as his heart raced faster. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself..." the husky grinned at the currently semi-broken fox he held so close, watching those pools of electric-blue as they darted back and forth from his muzzle to his own eyes and in-between.
"I-I... K-Kai... Kaine..." Shawn barely managed to speak, feeling his eyes starting to tear up. Before the husky had the chance to notice - at least the fox hoped he hadn't - Shawn pressed up into another kiss and closed his eyes; his back arched lightly as he pressed himself closer and happily found that Kaine helped draw him into a warm, passionate embrace as their muzzles meshed. The fox breathed out a happy whimper and dared a faint lick at the husky's muzzle, nearly gasping when his tongue went further than he anticipated and actually brushed against Kaine's own inside his maw; a gesture that the husky was all too happy to return.
The two lay there on the couch together, warmed by more than just the fireplace before them, and continued to embrace and kiss and explore the their respective muzzles for what seemed like several hours - though was really only maybe one - until they both just settled into the other's form and let out contented sighs. Shawn squirmed slightly for two reasons, both of which embarrassed him, though one of which absolutely delighted him at the same time. The raw heat he could feel pressing so fully into his belly, the way he could feel each beat of Kaine's heart made the fox hug all the more tightly around the husky's lower back, not wanting that incredible warmth to go anywhere except where it was.
"H-heheh... I'm sorry, I think... Maybe not actually. You seem to have had... 'Quite' the effect on me there foxy." Kaine let his slightly dazed head rest up against the back cushion of the couch as he flashed his somewhat goofy grin down at the fox curled up in his lap so intimately close, not minding one bit how tight his pants felt with how much tighter he could tell Shawn pressed himself into it. He was quite content to just lay there enjoying the fox's generous warmth, and that's exactly what he did.
Shawn nuzzled into Kaine's chest with a happy whine, his tail wagging faintly before curling up over his legs and around the husky's leg, which by this point had been hooked over his own legs anyway. "Mrrrll... Absolutely nothing to be sorry about... I think this might win as the best night of my life, so far." he giggled and closed his eyes, letting his dizzy-with-bliss-filled mind rest.
"I'm happy to hear you say that Shawn, very happy..." Kaine mumbled quietly as he let his eyes drift closed as well, lightly brushing his paws up and down the fox's resting form while they relaxed together.
It wasn't long after that both canid's drifted from consciousness in the warmth of their mutual embrace, the couch being far more than comfortable enough to accommodate both their forms with ease and let them rest through the night; the dishes, their fire, and everything else in the world forgotten within that embrace for a time.
‾ ‾ ‾
Kaine jolted awake several hours later as his head rolled back, his eyes blinking open to find that their fire had been subdued to little more than smoldering coals; and craning his head around to look, that it was still very dark outside - what he could tell through the half-opened blinds on the back wall at that angle, anyway. "Must still be night..." the husky mumbled faintly, tightening his arms around the fox that still rested comfortably against him; his breathing soft and steady, seemingly still asleep. The fireplace wasn't their only heat-source, luckily. Kaine kept his thermostat at around 70 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time, keeping his den at a comfortable temperature thanks to the central heating and air system that was built into the building's architecture. He let out a contented sigh and let his muzzle come back to rest between Shawn's lightly twitching ears, his eyes drifting closed again; that is, until he felt the fox shift and hug around him more with a quiet groan.
"Hey there sleepy head, you awake?" the husky whispered quietly and waited, several seconds ticked by before he received a slight nod in return along with a yawn, making him smile. "Guess we drifted off there for a bit... Do you... I mean, would you like to rest here tonight?"
"Mmmnh... Is it... I-is it still night... ?" Shawn nuzzled comfortably into Kaine's warmth again, before he jumped slightly and sat up half-way, looking up at the husky's shadowed visage. "Oh I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pass out on you... especially not quite so literally! I-I um... huh?" the fox's sleep addled mind took a moment to fully register what the husky had asked, his ears splaying as his fur flushed red in his embarrassment, finding himself grateful for the darkness enveloping them both at the moment.
Kaine couldn't help but laugh a little as Shawn jumped like that, rubbing his paws up and down his back to calm him down a bit. "It's fine, hahah. I'm perfectly happy to have a nice warm foxy blanket to snuggle up with. If you want, you're welcome to stay till morning at least... If you wanted to head home after getting a bit more sleep?" he offered with a warm smile, however difficult it might be to see in such low-light conditions.
Shawn bit his lip gently and slowly settled back down onto his husky-pillow, nuzzling up under Kaine's muzzle as he accepted the generous offer with a couple tender licks to show his gratitude. "I... If it's alright, then I'd love to..."
Kaine wagged his tail and hugged Shawn close again, returning the gentle licks to his ears. "My bed might be more comfortable, unless..." his voice trailed off as he more felt than saw the fox perk his ears up, cradling his muzzle in a somewhat comical fashion and bringing a chuckle out of the husky before he continued. "... Unless you'd be uncomfortable sharing my bed so soon... I promise I'll behave, though, no pressure or anything, just... I'd at least expect some snuggling, hahah." Kaine chuckled again as he made his offer, able to feel the heat radiate from Shawn's face as he blushed and nodded.
"H-heheh, I think I'd like that... Not to say I'm uncomfortable like we are now of course... but, a bed sounds wonderful right now honestly." the fox shivered slightly and hugged tighter around Kaine's warm body, not moving to get up just yet. He yipped in surprise as he suddenly found himself being picked up instead though, and clung tighter around the husky after slipping his arms around his shoulders. "Whoa! H-hahah, c-careful, please!" the fox huffed and gave a faint whimper while the Kaine stood and carried him towards what he assumed was his bedroom, burying his face in the husky's neck-fur with an embarrassed giggle.
"Don't worry, I wont drop you. You're safe with me." Kaine smiled and nuzzled over the fox's muzzle warmly, keeping him held close until he gently set him down on the bed; stretching and yawning tiredly after. He started to pull his shirt off over his head, though paused when he remembered Shawn was likely watching him even in the dark. "Umm... Do you mind if I get more comfortable? I usually don't wear...ah, hahah... anything actually, I'll leave on my boxers at least, don't worry... Is that acceptable?"
Shawn had indeed been watching him and bit his tongue to keep from whimpering when he stopped. "I uh, is it acceptable...? Heh, Well it's your bed Kaine, I mean... As long as you're comfortable?" he gulped softly and sat up on the edge of the bed, honestly wanting to feel every inch of fur he could and see every bit of the husky in all his natural glory, but he restrained himself from saying as much, not wanting to sound desperate. He felt an audible whine escape his throat as he watched Kaine lift his shirt up over his head, watching intently as every strand of fur rustled and fell back into place over his snow-white stomach and chest, the darker parts of his gorgeous coat far more difficult to make out without proper lighting.
"You alright Shawn?" Kaine snapped him out of his trance and grinned as he saw the fox blush profusely, the husky's tail wagging as he more just pushed off his pants than slid out of them, not wanting to give his date a heart attack by teasing him too much. Still, he felt good that he got such a nice reaction out of the fox, smiling inwardly as much as out. He stood there in just his boxers, the loose fabric hugging his hips and vaguely accentuating his full sheath. He wanted to impress the fox, wanted him to need him, but he didn't want to act too fast and push him away either. "Do you... wanna just sleep in your clothes? Or would you just like me to help get you out of them?" Kaine teased, or pretended to tease, of course very much wanting to do just that; but still, left it up to Shawn.
The fox raised one paw from his lap to touch his shirt as he seriously considered what Kaine had said, even knowing he was teasing. 'Was he though? - You and I both know he wants to fuck you, and you want him to! - ...I can't deny that's true, but still... I don't want him thinking I'm just some... - One night stand? C'mon, he made you dinner, he deserves at least one good romp. - Oh come on, don't be so crude... dammit, gotta do something before... Oh no what's he -'"-Doing...?" Shawn made a conscious effort not to growl as he argued with himself, but didn't take into account that he really should have been answering Kaine rather than withdrawing into himself like that. Kaine had a concerned look on his face again as he stepped closer in front of the fox, one paw gently grasping his muzzle and directing his gaze up at him.
"Hey, you're... you're ok with this right? I meant it when I said no pressure here, if you're uncomfortable... just tell me...?" Kaine held Shawn's jaw so gently that the fox barely felt it, but he was paying full attention now as he gazed back into the husky's emerald orbs and gulped absently.
"I... P-please, help me?" Shawn bit his tongue after he spoke, able to feel his paws lifting to rest upon the husky's soft, warm hips and slowly trail their way up his sides, taking a bit of pleasure in watching him shiver at the touch and smile down into his wanting eyes.
"Are you sure...? Just cuddling, I promise..." he assured the fox, then added "... And maybe a little kissing." to which he grinned as he got several nods in return. "Alright my little fox, I'll help you then..." Kaine nearly whispered, slipping his paws down to grip Shawn's shirt and carefully pull it up over his head. Shawn stole a look at Kaine's bulge while the shirt was lifted away and tossed to the side, then blushed as the husky knelt down in front of him and gripped his waist in both paws. "These too?" he asked in a warm tone, watching the fox intently for any sign of discomfort; though grinning inwardly when he saw him nod again and lift his hips up off the bed. Kaine first reached around behind the fox and unbuttoned the flap of fabric fastened around the base of his tail, then lightly trailed his paws around to the front to open up the button and zipper there, too; Shawn letting out a huff and shivering at the husky's gentle touch. His pants came off easily, gentle tugs and a pull sliding the fabric down off the fox's hips and off his legs in one smooth, slow motion. Kaine smiled and stayed kneeling in front of him, letting his eyes wander slowly over his lovely form while raising up to look into the fox's seemingly deep blue pools. "Good?" he asked with a smile.
Shawn's face was obviously flush even in this dim lighting, the darker tone of red showing through the near-white sections of fur and plainly in his ears. He slowly lowered his now neigh bare form onto the bed, letting his tail flick and sway absently where it may, giggling some as he watched it brush over Kaine's mid-section. "Yeah... good. Thank you, much more... comfortable." he spoke slowly, Kaine having slid up close and leaned in over him as he did, bringing a gasp between the last two words and separated them with a tender kiss. Shawn leaned back further as the husky crawled up onto the bed, both nearly panting with how quick their hearts were racing, the anticipation of the next kiss almost palpable between them.
Kaine huffed and gave the fox's muzzle a playful lick, then slid off to the side and crawled up to his spot on his bed. Shawn almost whimpered in complaint until he noticed that Kaine was holding the covers open for him to join, which when he realized this, he eagerly - almost pouncing - did join and snuggle in tight against the clad-in-nothing-but-his-boxers husky.
"Heheh, you really are adorable, Shawn." Kaine teased, hugging the fox close and nuzzling between his ears warmly until he lifted his maw; then gave in and kissed him again. Several small, gentle kisses at first, the fox's paws obviously having difficulty finding what to do with themselves as they roamed in haphazard motions all over the husky's torso, front to back slowly though everywhere in between until Kaine pressed into a deeper, more passionate kiss and slid their tongues together; that's when those wandering paws came to rest firmly against his chest, gripping his fur there possessively. Kaine's own paws had come to hold just as firmly around Shawn's mid-back, pulling their bodies together intimately; and though they were both fairly obviously aroused again by that point and the instances of contact between those two regions were electric, he kept to his promise... for the most part. Neither of them seemed to be able to resist grinding their hips together, their firm boxer-clad sheaths rubbing and sliding against one another making the fox squirm, though only to press more insistently into the kiss.
When Kaine finally - reluctantly - withdrew from the kiss, Shawn was panting and whimpering in a pleasurable dizziness that left him unable to think quite as clear as he probably should have been. As result, he didn't bother arguing when his paw decided to slip its way down from the husky's firm chest and brush over those taught abs, not stopping until it wrapped itself around his thick-with-arousal sheath that was only barely containing Kaine's firm length, separated only by the almost non-existent breadth of fabric clinging to it. This brought a breathy gasp from Kaine, who instinctively thrust against the intrusive paw before he could stop himself; though who slowly regained his composure with a whimpering moan. "H-h....hhhhey, I... ahhh, I promised... - gods you feel incredible though." the husky panted and hugged tighter around Shawn, trying hard not to hump his paw, though unable to resist grinding into those velvety pads.
Shawn practically moaned and grumbled something unintelligible while he felt up Kaine's healthy package while nibbling and kissing under his panting maw, absolutely entranced by how slick and soft, yet completely hard it felt within his paw's grasp. He wanted it, every bit of it. He wanted all that this enticing husky had to offer him. 'You know he wants it as much as you do, just feel how hard he is! - But... too fast isn't it? This is just... teasing. Just kissing, that's all tonight should be.' Even arguing with himself took effort, his mental voice panting as heavily as his physical body was. That little bit of sense shone through the fog of his mind though, and ever reluctant, his paw shakily slid from Kaine's crotch and up to hug firmly around his back, letting their bodies mesh tightly against each other.
"O-ohhh.h....f..fuck... th-thank you foxy... Don't know if I-I would've lasted... been able to h-hold out much longer like that." Kaine panted heavily, faint whimpers and gasps sounding just above the fox's ears, the husky's claws dragging firmly through the fur over Shawn's back making him quiver beneath his touch and hug tightly around Kaine's shaking body. He began kissing firmly between Shawn's ears, working his way back down to that beautiful vulpine muzzle and taking the fox into another intense kiss, trying to drown out one pleasure with another. Shawn kissed him back just as fiercely, panting steadily through his nose while gripping his paws tightly just above the husky's tail to keep them from wandering again.

After a while they both were able to relax, their arousal still prominent, though no longer prevalent in their actions as they simply enjoyed the feel of the others body. Kaine rolled Shawn over onto his other side and spooned with him, arms clinging around the fox protectively while his sheath - still quite firm and slightly... very, wet with his excitement - nestled itself comfortably alongside the fox's tail-base. Shawn occasionally would grind back against it - usually in response to his own sheath being groped or the husky grinding first - though otherwise, the two exhausted canids respected the kissing-only promise and, slowly, their hearts beating in steady rhythm still slightly quickened; they were able to finally get to sleep as the first rays of light shone over the usually-quiet neighborhood.
