I've always loved kobolds, and I had an idea for a story. Thought I'd write.

A breath of air, sharp and dirty, filled Quill's lungs. His eyes snapped open and he peeled his face from the muddy cobblestone. His vision swam as he looked around, eyes watering as a wave of nausea swept through him. He sat up quickly and his stomach voided itself of everything within. He managed to pull himself to his knees so not to soil his bare body. He tried stopping it, but to no avail, his heaving turning dry and not stopping for many minutes. His hand gripped the nearby wall, fingers squeezing rough stone as he coughed and spat, trying to get rid of the sickening taste of bile.

His hand slipped to the ground to push himself up, but he retracted it quickly with a hiss, blood welling out of his palm. He grit his teeth and cast his gaze to the culprit. His own icy blue eyes stared back at him from the piece of broken mirror lying in the gutter. He gripped his bleeding hand to his chest and turned his head. A streak of now dried mud cake itself to his cheek.

"Shit." Quill frowned and picked himself up, getting a bearing on his surroundings. The alley was cramped and dirty. The buildings on either side were built sturdily. The masonry was excellent, but worn from the careless advance of time. He was standing behind a row of trash bins near the mouth of the one way back alley.

"I was wondering when you'd wake. Been a good two hours." Quill whipped around, hand reaching to his side for his sword, but coming up empty. His panic seemed for naught though, as the only thing to meet him was a small kobold. He was well dressed, Quill observed, especially for a kobold. It was a strange occurrence to see such a pathetic creature wearing such a finely tailored suit, and even rarer for it to cover its whole body. It was holding a pile of brown cloth beneath one of its arms.

The lizard looked Quill up and down with a frown. "Come on, I have running water and clothes you can use." He jerked a thumb to a metal door on the side of the left building. Quill narrowed his eyes, not moving from his defensive stance. The kobold chuckled easily. "You're smart not to just blatantly trust me, I'll give you that. Why don't you come in through the front instead? Though you'll need to cover your shoulder up." The creature gestured to Quill's left side.

Quill glanced at his chest. A strange symbol, twisting and turning over itself in a nonsensical manner, was burned onto his bare flesh between his shoulder and pectoral. "W-what is this?"

"The symbol of keys. I'll explain everything inside." The kobold tossed him the frumpy bunch of cloth, which Quill caught easily. "Around the front, come inside after you put that on. Make sure nobody sees that mark, I don't need to lose the business." The kobold disappeared through the door, leaving Quill once more.

Quill gazed at the door for a beat, before looking again to the symbol burned to his skin. Running his hand over it did nothing, save mildly tickle. It felt firm though, the scar creating it having woven his flesh tighter than leather.

He slipped into the scratchy robes and exited out the alley.

The street around him was busy and loud, members of every race he's ever heard of sharing the space. His eyes bulged as he saw a dragon wyrm march in tandem with a human, both chatting idly. A tabaxi dressed in what could best be described as a string smirked at him from across the road, blowing him a kiss. His head turned to the shouting of a dwarf, arguing heatedly with a gnome.

He swallowed harshly and rushed to the building's entrance, a large oak door, heavy as he pulled it open. The noise cut out behind the door, replaced by the soft strings of a guitar, though it didn't seem to have a source. The room was dimly lit as compared to the harsh light of the city outside, hues of indigo and deep blue permeating the establishment. There were booths with plush seats and draping curtains around them filling the walls. In the center were finely crafted tables, each with a candle reflecting its golden light onto the polished wood. Most of the light came from a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and as Quill's eyes adjusted, he could see that what edges of the room that weren't lined with purple drapes instead held ornately carved wood, patterns and designs running through the edges and beneath the cloth covered walls.

The kobold from earlier was wiping down the bar at the far side of the large room. It too was made of carved wood, designs and lines running beautifully around the edges and into the floor. Behind it and to the left was a stairway leading to a second floor, though Quill was not able to see past them.

"Lock the door behind you. I'm not open right now." The kobold waved a claw in his general direction, or perhaps the door's.

"You clean your bar top when no patrons have been in?" Quill called back, locking the door behind him and approaching. The creature chuckled, an odd but pleasant sound made from its gravelly voice as the dark haired man sat in the stool across from it.

"No. But I do polish the wood. Treat what you love right, and it'll do so in kind." The kobold continued to polish, rubbing the tattered rag in his grip in small circles with a loving care. Quill stared at the small monster. The area behind the bar was raised quite a bit higher than the rest of the floor, allowing the kobold better access.

"Wise words for-" The man caught himself, coughing and clearing his throat. "F-for a stranger." The kobold gave him an easy glance, tossing the rag into a bucket with a few others.

"I'm not exactly a normal stranger." It turned to a sink behind the bar, washing its hands before pulling a glass up to the counter. "Drink of choice?" Quill shook his head. "I don't drink. At least, not with strangers, sorry." He pushed the cup back towards the monster, who shrugged and put it back below. Quill stared at his still bleeding hand as reality seemed to catch up to him, a small pit of anxiety digging into his chest. "I... Where am I?"

"The market ward in the city of Sigil." The kobold's gentle gaze dropped to a more neutral one as it spoke. Quill frowned in confusion.

"I don't think I've ever heard of such a place. Are we still in Faerûn?"

The kobold shook his head with a grimace. It licked its lips, thin tongue slipping out nervously."Your hand is bleeding and your body is covered in filth. Will you join me in a bath?"

Quill's anxiety grew at the subject change, but knew he had to answer in kind. "Of course I would not insult your hospitality to decline, but maybe a bond of names before that of bodies?" Quill stuck his arm out over the counter.

The monster seemed surprised by his answer, but gave a small smile as he met the arm's grasp, small claw meeting Quill's wrist as his own hand did the same. "Gek the kobold, son of Hoks, daughter of Zohzi. Godless."

"Quill Hanover, son of David Hanover, son of Robert Hanover. Servant to the Faerûnian pantheon, child of she who guides, Selûne." Quill took a breath, giving a firm shake before dropping his arm away, Gek doing the same.

The lizard let slip another small chuckle. "It is rare to meet such a polite person such as yourself, Quill. May our friendship never cease." Despite it all, Quill found a smile tugging the corners of his mouth.

"Rarities seem to be commonplace today, Gek. You mentioned a bath?"

The bath was more of a wading pool. It could comfortably fit another ten men. Gek had filled the large tub before leaving, having said he'd return shortly with changes of clothes for them both. While the foam of bubbles surrounding his body was far from masculine, Quill felt justified in enjoying it. After scrubbing off his hands and face, he had chosen to let himself sink into the water, keeping his chin just up enough to keep it dry. The warmth of the water created a steam, carrying with it the pleasant aromas of honey and lavender. He let out a sigh, and with it came his anxiety, replaced with a soft calm.

The sounds of a door opening and shutting barely registered in his head. He felt the water around him shift as something slipped in next to him. "I was able to find a shirt and trousers that should fit you, for the time being."

"Mmh." Was the hazy reply given. He felt the kobold shift through the water as it began washing. Quill's face twisted in thought. He, not it. This kobold was not like the dumb creatures from his home.

"Don't fall asleep and drown now," Gek laughed. Quill was starting to enjoy that sound, gravelly and jagged, but still pleasant.

"S-sorry, I've just never felt so relaxed before..." Quill was glad his face was already heated, because he knew he'd be blushing, though he couldn't fathom why. The kobold's laughter only grew, though held no malice.

"It's the soap. It has properties of relaxation and sensitivity. I figured you could use it, given your evening so far." He felt the kobold sit next to him, relaxing as well. "It's my absolute favorite, and I haven't had a day in years where I haven't used it."

Quill took a deep breath, feeling his stress fade away. "I can see why, though it does seem rather... effeminate." He spread his legs out, feeling his thigh brush against the smaller male's. The strange feeling of scales on his flesh sent a shiver running up his spine and a smile to his lips.

The feeling faded as Gek pulled away. "Do you take offense to effeminate things?" The response was light enough, though seemed to carry a very real weight.

The haze of steam around them matched Quill's own mind, clouding, masking, relaxing. Thoughts were a little jumbled, meanings a little lost. "None whatsoever." He wrapped his arm over the kobold's shoulders, pulling him closer. Electricity seemed to buzz through his side, spawning from every point of contact with those smooth scales.

"You seem quite affected by the soap. Do try to keep your head." Was the courteous response given. Again the red lizard pulled away. "I have grown quite accustomed to its effects, and I know it can lead to quite a few awkward mornings."

Quill giggled some, taking another breath of that wonderful scent. "Gek, please relax. We have shared our houses, and now we share our bodies. Such a bond requires some touching. A strengthening of friendship. Or was your earlier offer empty?" He peeled an eye open, gazing at the kobold. Gek frowned, tail curling behind him in thought before turning back to Quill.

"No. I'm true to my word." With a bit of hesitation, Gek placed a claw on Quill's chest, tracing down his pectorals and sternum. A euphoric jolt shot into Quill from the touch, though he was able to hide his shock fairly well. "You're very lithe, I'm surprised how firm your muscles are."

Quill ran his own hand up the kobold's arm, stopping at the shoulder as his hand brushed against a symbol identical to the one on his own. It stopped here for only a moment, before moving on to the kobold's neck and collar. "It comes from being a scout. What of your scales though? I've never seen a kobold so smooth and shiny before."

Gek nuzzled into the hand, resting his head on it as it ran up his chin. "I uh, run a rather successful s-spa next door. It would not be very becoming of me to not look as fine as I can possibly be." He pulled close, placing his claws on Quill's sides, gently running them down to his hips. Quill's back arched and a moan escaped his lips. Gek chuckled nervously as he shifted and traced down the young man's thighs. his small claws gripped at the pronounced muscles, pulled tight against his skin. "J-jeez Quill, you must be fast huh?"

With a shift of arms and water, Gek was placed between Quill's legs, hands gripping his crimson scaled rear. The lizard found his face heating and thanked the stars for his natural color. Quill gave a squeeze, enjoying the feel of the kobold in his grip. His grab met an unexpected ampleness, hand sinking delightfully into Gek's flesh "It was my job to reach places quickly. I'm glad to know my body can show this. You, on the other hand, are quite soft. Your rear doesn't have the jagged bones I expected." Quill pressed his thumb gently against Gek's tailhole.

Any response the kobold would have given was instead replaced by a squeak, and Quill smirked as his host visibly shivered from the touch. "W-wait, I don't r-really want to take advantage of you here Quill, the s-soap is-" The lizard's protests died on his lips as the thumb slipped inside and pulled the hole open. Gek hissed and instinctively pushed back against it. "Holy shit..."

The claws on his thighs moved back up, turning inward. Quill's breath hitched in his throat as they wrapped around his shaft, giving a gentle tug. The man couldn't take it any longer, lifting and turning Gek around in his grip. He was heavier than he looked but not too much so. The kobold gazed over his shoulder at him, golden sclera sparkling with a desire that burned in Quill's own heart. With the slightest of movements, Quill was inside, though still teasing just the tip. Gek's body writhed in his grip, gently rubbing against the larger male as his pudgy tail wrapped around Quill's leg and a groan exited his throat.

"You okay?" Quill's voice was quiet as a breath in the small creature's ears, his grip both firm and loving. Gek nodded, his tail rubbing at the leg it held onto.

"D-deeper." Quill curled around the kobold, thrusting deeply into him, earning a guttural moan from Gek. He began gently bouncing his thighs on Quill's, which the man met with his own slow humping. He found his hands running up the kobold's chest, pulling him further towards him, head beneath his neck. His arms traced higher, bending around Gek's shoulders as he quickened his pace. The lizard's breath picked up and his tail continued to stroke his leg. "I-I'm close." It came out like a whine, a need, which Quill was glad to sate.

His humping increased in force, his hips meeting the kobold's bottom with a powerful strength, making Gek gasp. Another groan was set loose, this one more akin to a growl as he hooked his arms into Quill's, pleasure building from somewhere deep inside of him. Any previous thoughts of decency were overridden with pure ecstasy and the kobold could no longer contain it. His grip on Quill's leg tightened, almost painfully so, before relaxing, Quill could feel Gek's body writhe and hump with his climax. Stars filled Quill's vision and euphoria clouded his head as he hugged Gek close, cumming harder than he had in years. A warmth filled the smaller male's body, serving only to make him thrust harder into the water.

They stayed there like that, quietly catching their breath for some minutes, enjoying the feeling of closeness.

With labored and satisfied breath, he pulled off, crawling out of the bath. His voice was soft when he spoke. "The room you're staying in tonight is to the right, last door on the left. It's ready whenever you are. Your towel and clothes are outside the door." And quick as a whip, the kobold was gone, leaving Quill to bask in the afterglow, made better from the haze in his head. He'd head to bed in a while, he wanted to enjoy this wonderous aroma just a little while longer.
