“Release me!”
Cortana wasn’t programmed to make a human cry, though there was a note in her programming that urged her to do so. That was part of the realism protocol, though it was not all that useful to her, so she had turned down the dial (figuratively, of course) on it during the Human-Covenant war. As an AI, she needed to be clear, concise, but also relatable to those she assisted. That had become increasingly important since working for, or being commissioned by ONI.
However, she had not expected to be dragged from Forerunners on Reach by her hair. The T’Vaoan major, a subspecies of the Kig-Yar that had taken a rather different evolutionary path, stalked ahead of her. The sky burned with a simmering glow and her processors whirred inwardly, though that was just one sense Cortana was able to access in her synthetic body. Of course, she could feel things that other bodies could feel, but there was never any doubt in her mind that she, as she stood there, was but a machine.
“Erf. You’ll talk, soon enough.”
He grunted down at her, Riq Thoc, though the T’Vaoan was only interested in her to a certain point. At seven-feet-tall, he towered over homo-sapiens and the AI was designed to be like one of them. She could have passed, really, but Riq had known what and who he’d been looking for, a cruel smirk parted his beak, showing his teeth. He didn’t have the facial features of those mammalian species and neither would the T’Vaoan even have wanted to. That life, that world, was not for him.
As a major, he stood tall, somewhat muscular but far from lean. His feathers stood up starkly from his head, framing him in blistering red as he hauled Cortana from the Prowler, the ship groaning behind her, crew members screaming. He cared not for their fates, for he already had what he needed.
If someone had asked him about his past, they would have found out that he’d, once, been a pirate, but he’d seen what was happening with the Covenant. It was not as if he was not savvy, able to scent change on the wind – though that was nothing to do with Riq Thoc’s natural abilities. Joining the Covenant was the smartest decision for him and, frankly, the T’Vaoan had leapt from strength to strength, driving his way brutally up and through the ranks with the native ferocity of his kind. A show of teeth and claws was one thing, but wry, sharp cunning and a penchant for undercutting those opposing him was another entirely…
To stay alive, one had to stay ahead. He had not fallen prey to religious nonsense, as he put it privately, but that was perhaps one area in which he excelled: he knew when to keep his mouth shut. Riq knew too when to talk, to smooth over difficulties, though that didn’t mean he liked it. So, the T’Vaoan kept himself to himself, amongst his crew and his own where he was at the top of the pecking order.
After all, he wouldn’t want to be branded a heretic and get the wrong eyes on him there either… That said, perhaps what he did was worse in the sense of denying war crimes, including the destruction of Forerunner sites, so he was the one who took the spoils and carried that valuable edge forwards. Blaming humans, or any enemy really, was an easy option. Riq enjoyed taking the easy way out and, well, it was a lie anyone on his side would readily believe.
And they were on the winning side, as he had wanted. Sure, there had been some mishaps to slow them down, but they moved forward and onward, capturing sources who had been all too willing to spill secrets with Riq Thoc’s specific, tenacious brand of persuasion at hand. He was only interested in results, though the capacity of his ship had needed to be increased for all the extra bodies on board… The fighting vessels, of course, were at the on-board dock, ready to be thrown into action at a moment’s notice.
At last, however, he had his claws on the one AI – though she took the form of a woman and was implanted in place of a human mind – that would change the tide of the war irreversibly. The spec ops team called him in, though he was in charge, and he towered over Cortana as he looked down on her, dark eyes glinting imperiously. There, he had found something far more valuable than typical Forerunner secrets, or even UNSC AI.
“This… This is going to change everything.”
He clacked his beak as he hauled her out, though the AI didn’t cry out, scream – nothing. That was hardly unexpected as he pulled her force, heart hammering in his chest, pumping that dose of exhilarating adrenaline through his bloodstream. Ah, the thrill of victory would always do it for him, would always make him realise just why he was there, why he did what he did. Survival… Pah! It was so much more than that, when it all came down to thriving and making a life out there through any means possible.
“Cortana…”
He dragged out the vowels in her name, but she still struggled, not saying a word, bringing her hands up as if that would get him to pry his fingers loose from her. Gripping her upper arm, he hauled the AI along with him, though there was no sense of admiration in him, not for what she was, what she’d done. All the AI would prove to be was a tool to him, something he could use and abuse, ripping the deepest of secrets from her core until he was in better stead still and the Covenant would decimate the remainder of the war.
The sky billowed red as they burst from the vessel she’d been on, smoking and listing dreadfully to the side, but Riq didn’t look back at it, chest pushed out and forward. That was a mannerism he’d picked up from other races he worked and lived with, though it didn’t linger in his mind. Screams and howls cut through the air, but that, again, was just background noise to him. Nothing could overcome his triumph, smoke tangling with acrid, sharp sulphur in the air.
“You… You will not last long, AI.”
Riq cackled, his beak clacking together, though the T’Vaoan barely even noticed how his teeth knocked together as he hauled Cortana back on board his ship. He grasped her hair still, barely even allowing her to stand on her own two feet, the raw display of callous power fitting naturally with him.
Cortana pressed her lips together, her synthetic body responding with heat, a red flush of humiliation clawing at her cheeks and neck. Oh, that was something she really did not like about the softness of flesh, for it would have been far better to have a body that was machine-like and purely functional in that moment. There were far too many things about a synthetic body that had made other species more comfortable with AIs and their function in the war that would not serve here there.
Other T’Vaoan howled and jeered at her, clacking their toothy beaks as she was paraded through the ship, though not before a collar was clamped around her neck. It was hard and metallic, locking over her throat, and Cortana resisted the programmed urge to swallow. Some things were still awkward in a synthetic bodies; some things she’d “worked on” to appear more humanoid no longer served her well. Some things, well…they were programmed far too well into her synthetic body and the responses the body gave were entirely outside her control.
The collar stopped her from turning her head comfortably all the way to the right and the left, but it mostly locked down her system, preventing her from calling for aid, accessing the linking systems – anything, really. She simmered, cheeks red and hot with shame. That was not something Cortana could control.
“I will never talk,” she said, lifting her voice more clearly above gritted teeth. “There is nothing you can do to me, to this body, that will change things.”
The T’Vaoan leered at her, showing off the teeth in his horrible beak. She stared back at him, her chin tilted up slightly, defiant and unflinching.
“Ohhhh, we’ve dealt with your kind of AI before,” he sneered. “You think you’re gonna be a problem? You’ll see, bot.”
He shoved her, his hand in the middle of her back, and Cortana stumbled, forced to follow him through the ship. Her chest rose and fell sharply as her body breathed too heavily and she forced it to quiet, having more control over herself in that manner than a homo-sapien would. Still, she acted like she was above it all, a small hope in the back of her mind that there would be someone, of course, at ONI who would come for her. She was still valuable to them – of course, she was. That was why the T’Vaoan had captured her.
But the vessel she’d been forced to board up the narrow gangway was like none Cortana had seen before. With dark walls and passageways designed for T’Vaoan, it was not somewhere she felt comfortable, not in any way. He paraded her through a jeering crowd, T’Vaoan and Sangheili hollering and jeering at her. She flinched, not able to hold it back soon enough, but it didn’t matter. In time, Cortana would come to see that there was actually very little there she could do that was really going to matter.
All I have to do is be quiet. If I don’t talk, I have no use to them.
_ _
And it was not like them destroying her body either was going to really “harm” her, as uncomfortable as it would be for her. She couldn’t turn off her pain processing system, granted, with the suppression collar interfering with her systems, but she would endure. There would be a way for her to get out of it and back to where she belonged, Cortana taking slow, steady breaths to bring her heart rate down, fresh resolve in her eyes. Her dark hair brushed against her cheeks, a little heavier and grittier with dirt than it would usually have been, for she faced the same trials, of course, in keeping it clean.
Her body, however, obeyed the T’Vaoan major’s will, stalking her through the corridors as creatures she would rather have been far away from hollered at her, slamming their fists against the walls and floor.
“Fresh meat!”
“Get on your knees!”
“AI whore!”
Cortana blinked at them. That couldn’t have been right, but she ignored it. She was above all that as she stepped onward, not particularly wanting another jab in the back from the T’Vaoan. She hadn’t even got the major’s name, his red feathers perking up proudly, showing off his capture to those below him. But did she really expect him to introduce himself to her?
Things took a darker turn, however, as she entered a large, open room. Well it was open for being on a ship, something heavy clawing at the air. She coughed as she inhaled, her body responding, but straightened immediately, pushing down the urge the best she could. But what she saw just didn’t line up with anything Cortana had ever experienced before.
The room, full of rust-red and dark-grey fittings, metallic and crude, was full of T’Vaoan and Sangheili, all of them lounging around or…being serviced. There were comfortable-ish fittings in there, things that could have been seating areas and tables, but they could have been no more than crates covered with plain, old cloth for how they were treated. They were rudimentary at best.
A dark grey Sangheili with large mandibles leaned back in his seat, back to the wall, a clawed hand on top of the top of a woman’s head. But, no, she was not a woman at all but another AI, just like her, only her body had blonde hair and a similar fine, light face: the face of a human being who was supposed to be attractive to other homo-sapiens. Conventionally attractive, that was.
The AI bobbed her head with a thick, wet sound bubbling up from her lips and Cortana would have reeled in horror if not for the T’Vaoan major jabbing her in her lower back, forcing her on with a warning growl that sounded more like a shriek. Yet she still turned her head to look as the AI woman was forced to sexually pleasure the Sangheili, her head rising and falling as she took his shaft into her mouth.
He was not the only one, however, for the odd smell in the room swiftly became clear as she caught sight of more and more sex acts going on. Sex was not something she exactly had a wealth of experience in, as an AI, though she had spent time around others that had spoken rather openly of it. What she saw there didn’t look at all like what she’d described with AIs seeming to engage very willingly with T’Vaoans and Sangheili in all manner of positions.
With their synthetic bodies, they didn’t have to wear clothes or their usual suits, so most of them were naked. As Cortana watched, horror suppressed the best she could, she watched a woman on her back take a T’Vaoan’s dick into her sex, the thick length of his cock seemingly sliding into her with ease. Her body seemed wet, for there was dampness at the join of their bodies, and she moaned openly, on her back over a bench so he could thrust into her. The T’Vaoan only had his cock out, a couple of pieces of armour tossed carelessly on the ground, though it didn’t seem like that was a concern of the avian-like species at that time.
His fat length ploughed into her pussy, the AI’s legs spreading lewdly for him, though she had her fingers curled around the back of her thigh, where her hamstrings were, to hold her legs up for him, knees pushed towards her chest. Her breasts bounced with the obvious impact he had on her body, another T’Vaoan with blue head-feathers eyeing them up wantonly. Even if Cortana had been completely inexperienced with sexual acts, it would have been clear to her then that he wanted to be next in line.
They moved on, though she was a little surprised to find Spartans too, the super-powered soldiers with humanoid forms (she would hesitate to call them homo-sapiens as that was inaccurate to her logs), wilfully worshipping the T’Vaoans and Sangheili. It was wrong, though they all seemed to be female-bodied, like her, which struck her as odd initially.
Perhaps they have a preference.
_ _
The thought came clearly, like she was simply working something out that she didn’t fully understand, yet it still sent a shudder of horror through her. Cortana inhaled deeply, lifting her head high. She was above it all, for she would not fall to their pastimes, no matter how willingly the few Spartans and mass of AIs seemed to wish for attention from the captors. Cortana even caught sight of an AI woman with long hair spilling down her back, a mess of black curls, crawling after a T’Vaoan who had his cock out, lazily, in one hand, jacking off. She whined and whimpered for his attention, kissing up the length of his fat cock – and, yes, Cortana meant to think “cock” that time, for only such a crude word fit a moment like that.
Light terms, clinical terms, no longer fit the ship with its rampant air of debauchery, abuse and overzealous sexuality. She swallowed lightly, looking ahead of her only where she was directed by the T’Vaoan major, though it didn’t help.
Moving through that main den of sex, she was taken past some private rooms, though she could not say just how private they were when the air-lock doors were open, revealing the sex acts going on within.
An AI woman stood against a wall, fucked in the ass while a T’Vaoan pulled her hair, his beak parted in obvious, male pleasure. Her body stretched around his shaft, though it looked too large for her body to take easily.
Again, there was an AI bent over a bench, but she had a T’Vaoan on either end of her that time, one filling her mouth with his dick while the other looked like he’d buried his shaft between her legs. They ploughed back and forth, not at all in time or in sync with each other, intent only on using her for their lewd desires.
There – a Spartan woman on her knees, sucking down a Sangheili dick, cheeks plumped out, while two T’Vaoans stood on either side of her, jerking off their cocks as if to spend their seed over her face. She didn’t seem bothered by it at all, though Cortana averted her eyes. Even then, it did not seem like something she should have been seeing, something she should have been looking at.
A Sangheili’s mandibles twitched in open pleasure while he ground his cock between the breasts of an AI. That gave her pause, for it was not something Cortana had considered, his slick, dark flesh grinding against her light skin. Whereas Cortana came with a purple and blue tint to her, what set her apart as an AI rather than simply blended in, the other AI with dark brown hair had a pink hue to her. Was that something the Sangheili liked?
Cortana took a breath, but it didn’t help, not to put her at ease. She let herself take it in, her language rephrasing itself from the clean, simple terms she might have used to refer to everything – if she wasn’t right there in that situation, that was. It was better, better for her, if she just got on with it and called things what they were, in their rough, sexual names, without dancing around the point or attempting to separate herself from it. Cortana had already picked up on the pattern and knew she was going to be in a similar position soon enough, even if she vowed to herself she would never, willingly, kneel for any of them. She would not kiss and lick and worship them like they were everything to her, never beg for a T’Vaoan’s cock with shining eyes.
No. They would not break her. Cortana was different from the other AIs and she would prove that. At least, she would do so until someone rescued her, for she had to keep that hope alive, the fire burning, forever, in the back of her mind.
Down into the belly of the ship, the scent of grease and something darker, something alien, hit her. The ground under them sloped and she was forced into a small, dark room, a single light illuminating her in a spotlight. It might have been hanging from the ceiling or it might not have, but the T’Vaoan major shoved her head down, forcing her to kneel and keep her eyes on the ground.
“This is where you live now, slopper,” he jeered, giving her side a kick. “I think you know what I want, but let me spell it out for you. You will give me information. Everything you know. If you do not talk, I will break you. I will pry every last scrap of knowledge out of that head of yours.”
“Why would I do that when I know what you’ll do with it?”
His eyes gleamed and he grabbed her hair, wrenching Cortana’s head up and back.
“What do you think I’ll do with it? That, bitch, ain’t for you to worry about.”
The T’Vaoan turned his head and spat and Cortana was probably lucky he didn’t just spit in her face, for that was very much a possibility at a time like that. But the T’Vaoan had far more in store for Cortana and spitting in her face, really, was the least of it.
The door closed behind him and then her torment truly began. Riq would have called it “conversion,” of course – but things differed greatly from Cortana’s point of view. The AI reeled from him as he grabbed her suit, using his claws to tear through it. It had clung to her body, highlighting her form and allowing her full freedom of movement, but there had to be something painted on his claws to allow him to do that. Logically, Cortana knew it was not made of a material that should have torn so easily, but he ripped it as if it was only paper to him, shredding it from her body.
She didn’t snarl at him or snap, merely glared. Sometimes, a lot could be said with the eyes and she didn’t intend at all for things to be said with her lips. Therefore, it suited Cortana to start as she meant to go on, despite her heart pounding in her chest. Damn that body… It betrayed her at the worst of times as he bared her body, her pale flesh gleaming with those purple and blue hues, hair hanging raggedly around her jawline.
She covered her breasts with one arm and her exposed sex with another. Those were features she wasn’t all that sure were necessary for an AI’s body, but Cortana had never been given all that much cause to think about them before. Sure, she’d experimented a little, but things had not gone all that much further than that. She was confident most AIs experimented with their synthetic bodies, despite their function.
“Even AIs hide at first,” he laughed, though there was no humour in his voice. “You think we want your skinny, scrawny bodies? You are not of our kind.”
“Then leave us alone.”
“That’s not how this works.”
He snarled and pulled her head back, one clawed hand callously twisting her hair. Cortana couldn’t stop herself from letting out a cry, sharp and piercing, as quickly as she clamped her mouth shut again. The T’Vaoan didn’t act like she made any sound at all as he grabbed at his own crotch, freeing the armour plates that covered it and tossing them rudely on the ground. He didn’t care for his own armour, marked from battle, bullets and energy beams, but it was time to reap the spoils.
Of course, Riq would break Cortana in time, but that didn’t mean there was no pleasure to be had in it too for him. He exposed his cock, letting the length rise, thick and full, though anything more was hidden from view. He could have removed more of his armour, but Riq was just warming up and getting a taste of the AI he was to break down, letting his throbbing cock smack against her face. The head left a sticky smear of pre-cum on her cheek, though Cortana, boldly, didn’t flinch from it.
Fuck, I’m gonna like breaking you, bitch.
_ _
He kept that thought to himself, for he could take his time with her. Cortana blinked at him, still trying to cover her modesty – but, really, what use did any AI have for that anyway? His race didn’t typically expose their genitalia until they were ready to fuck and thought it was “messy” that others had their junk just out there and exposed for everyone to see.
Cortana pulled back from him, despite the pain blistering through her scalp, his hold on her hair hardly relaxing in the slightest. The throbbing length of prick slapped against her face, with a defined shape to the head and a rounded tip. It didn’t look like it fit on his body, but that was maybe because she’d never been in a position like that before, chest heaving, body screaming at her to do something. It was like when her AI warning systems, in her programming, went off all at once – only, there was nothing she could do to satisfy the desires of her synthetic body in that moment, no.
Her eyes traced the line of his dark dick, gleaming with something, but she didn’t think it was pre-cum. Cortana tried to fight him, to pull back against the pain, a hand coming up against him, but fighting against a sexual attack was not something she had every thought she’d have to do. Her chest heaved and she fought, but he took his moment the second her lips parted.
“Mmph!”
She let out a muffled cry as he took advantage of her, grinding his dick into her mouth and filling it quickly. Cortana’s eyes widened and she grimaced as the T’Vaoan looming above her, his legs bent to get his dick down to her level, thrust harder. His callous laugh rolled over her, though she could not honestly imagine him ever having any true humour or lightness in it, not at all.
You are a creature of evil.
_ _
Cortana had learned about evil and she’d fought in the war. She’d worked with intelligence and she’d seen some true atrocities in her time “alive.” But that didn’t compare to being the subject of such vicious conversion tactics herself, her mouth plundered as that rough length of dick crammed into it. She couldn’t pull back, barely able to use her tongue at all, to move it in her mouth, wanting to choke on his length. Of course, her synthetic body didn’t need to have a gag reflex, but the draw for it was still there.
He rammed into her mouth savagely, sawing his dick back and forth in a similar manner to how she’d seen other AIs being used on her way there, the white light spilling bright and harsh over her. Cortana could not even think about something else, allowing her processing mind to take her away to another place, so she didn’t have to exist in the moment right there and then. No… No, the suppression collar took care of that, forcing her to live through everything exactly as it happened.
Riq fucked her mouth roughly, taking out his pent-up energy from the battle and the aftermath on her, though it had not been much of a fight by his standards. He cared not for how he bruised the corners of her mouth, slamming viciously into her, finding ways to grind his prick deeper and deeper, into the back of her throat. She swallowed and seemed like she was gagging around him, but that was really not something that at all concerned him. It was just the start of her breaking, converting her to their ways, the ways of the Covenant.
So, he could take his crude, rude pleasure there as he let out an avian screech, hips working harder and faster. Cortana’s hands came up to his thighs as if she was trying to push him away, but the suppression collar stopped her from fighting back too hard too. He liked a little fight though, so Riq might adjust the settings on it later, if it was what he wanted. Letting them fight and then stopping them from even putting up a bare modicum of physical resistance was just another strategy he used in breaking those who had information he wanted. It was information that would benefit his status and push him higher in the ranks, for Cortana was no small capture to be shoved aside.
She gulped around him, a wet noise, and his beak hung open in a rude grin as he thrust harder and faster. Taking her roughly, he ground over her tongue, forcing it out of his way, until need swelled through him and he screeched, releasing his cum into her mouth. Still, there was a more debasing way still to break her and he pulled back, letting spurts of viscous semen paint her face, dripping down her cheeks and even getting in her hair. Cortana got her hands up too late in an attempt to stop it, but his orgasm was already tapering down, cum gleaming at the head of his cock, rolling languidly over the rounded tip where it beaded up thickly.
“Unff… Not a bad round for a slopper bitch.”
“Not… I am not a slopper.”
She faced him, her expression calm and level. Inside, she was screaming – but that was not something Cortana could let the T’Vaoan know. She had to keep it all in, to make him think there was no way he was going to get anything out of her, to hold on until her rescue.
The slick, heavy feeling of his cum on her face had her wanting to shudder, though Cortana held it down. It was nothing more than a physical sense, she told herself, and it could only be as debasing as she allowed it to be.
The T’Vaoan major, however, seemed contented with what he’d done to her so far, shoving her away as he put his armour back in place and left, stuffing his cock into it. There were no fancy words or farewell to her and he treated her as no more than an object. That was not something she was unused to: many treated AIs like that regardless of what they’d done in the world, in the war, like they were the dumb, mindless AIs for common work. But she didn’t want to look down on those AIs either, for everyone had their place in the galaxy.
Cursing him, she lay down, trying to find a comfortable position for her synthetic body as she rolled and turned one way and then the other. The ship, rather than being cold, was too hot for her and the floor rumbled beneath her, vibrating, so she was forced to keep shifting, forever trying to find a position where she could be somewhat settled. But that was all part of breaking her, driving her down into the ground until she no longer even felt like herself, the AI grunting as she tried to curl in on herself.
She was not chained in there, but that might have been better. That might have, at the very least, restricted her movement options, made her feel like she had some smaller limit to push against. Cortana started off by pacing the limits of the small, metal-panelled room, though it was no different, really, than most other rooms on spacefaring vessels. It just was…hot. Too hot, her body responding as she grimaced. Open pipes streamed across the ceiling, with nothing to separate Cortana from them, though they were no real bother to her except how they vibrated. Sometimes, water condensed on one and steamed quickly as it heated up, but she couldn’t reach it.
Eventually, Cortana settled for sitting down with her knees drawn up in front of her, feet flat on the floor. Her heart hammered in her chest and she resisted the urge to groan, to rock back and forth, to find some way to settle into herself once again. She may not have yet had any idea, not truly, the depths of depravity the T’Vaoan major was willing to go to, but it didn’t matter.
She was trapped there anyway.
Continued in part two of three…
