Hybridisation Project - Chapter One -
Dr. Natianiel Redtail is a respected colleage and scientist, who works for a Bio-Engineering Laboratory. It is believed, by him, that he is working on cures to human diseases and afflictions, but when it reality, this Anthropomorphic Kangaroo is sorely mistaken in his beleifs...

Nathaniel, Nate to his close friends, paused and two of his long claws on his paws tugged at the tightly fitting collar of his laboratory coat, as he grumbled and flicked his ears, watching the line ahead of him pass through the security checkpoint. Taking another step, the frustrated Anthro Kangaroo sighed again as he watched his fellow co workers, some chatting and laughing, some absorbed in studying their electronic pads, others sipping coffee, before Nate grunted as his ear flicked and be blushed, before stepping forwards and laying a pale furred paw on the scanner and holding out the ID badge.
"Doctor Nathaniel Redtail, ID check ident confirmed - " Beeped the voice from the computer, before Nate felt a sharp stabbing sing to his paw and he snatched it away and frowned.
"Sorry Doctor, mandatory random screening for blood toxicity levels, you have a nice day - " Spoke the human security guard who sat behind a desk, looking attentive, but Nate saw the boredom in the man's eyes and he grumbled, rubbing where the needle had pricked him.
"Why me, why always me..." Nate muttered to himself as he passed through and down the sterile white hallway, his slender tail tapping against the floor with each footstep.
He nodded casually to co-workers and colleagues, before turning and glancing through the door panel, and entering the lockers. He seen both human males and females in various stages of dress and undress, it didn't bother him at all, it as their naked bodies were mere data the Kangaroo's mind assimilated as he mentally began breaking down a young human woman's body into its constituent chemicals and compounds in his mind as an exercise to prepare himself for the day.
As he removed his street clothes, then stepped into the showers, he shuddered and his muzzle curled back as he felt the stinging spray striking him from all angles like a billion needles stabbing through fur and flesh – then come the disgusting disinfecting soap that sprayed like a foam over his whole body before it shut off and he vigorously scrubbed with his paws and claws until he was satisfied he'd not missed a spot – holding his slender tail between his long legs, scratching at it, before a co-worker seen him and snickered.
"Doctor Nathaniel, I had no idea you were so – genetically enhanced!"
Nathaniel blinked and flicked the foam from his eyes, before giving a death-stare squint at a young Human woman, who smirked and blew the Kangaroo a kiss.
"Very funny Dr Krushev, very funny - " Nate snorted, then wrinkled his muzzle and spat out some of the disgusting foam that dripped into his muzzle.
Letting his tail slip out from between his legs, he moved his right slender foot and the toes touched the sensor, which began the shower ritual all over again – it took twenty minutes to wash, rinse and rewash himself clean, before he was certain no outside contaminants still clung to his lithe, athletic body. Finally satisfied, he stepped from the shower and into the drying bah, where jets of warm air soon blow dried his fur and he sighed in pleasure.
He despised the bio-showers, but this, this was something he loved – to feel those strong powerful jets raining hot air all over him, the feel of the water sliding down his furred body and the feeling of cleanliness and warmth after the jets finally shut off, he trailed his paw from mid-belly back to chest, feeling the taut musculature beneath the pale fur, but also, the warmth.
"If you're quite finished Doctor, we do have work to do..." Dr Krushev admonished him, watching as Nathaniel shivered from long sensitive ears down to his toes.
Nathaniel chuckled softly, shaken out of his pleasurable revelry, before he deftly caught the lab coat that was thrown to him. Slipping it on, he closed the fasteners along its front and followed the human to another door, where they both touched their security cards that were clipped to the right of their chests.
"Doctor Krushev, clearance granted, Doctor Nathaniel, clearance granted - " Chirped the computer.
Nathaniel hated the computer, he always swore when it was addressing him personally, it adopted a snide inflection to its voice, but others laughed and made polite, but cutting, jokes about the Anthro Kangaroo being too thin skinned. As the only Anthro working this facility, he did feel out of place, but took their jibes and playful teasing in good humour irregardless.
"After you Doctor - " Nathaniel whispered, as he touched the sensor and the heavy door silently swung open.
"Thank you Doctor, and they say that chivalry is dead..." Smiled the woman, as she entered the lab.

Nathaniel sighed as he held a white furred rabbit in his paws, gently stroking it, before Dr. Krushev slipped a needle into the rabbit's nape and depressed the trigger, before glancing at the monitor and watching the readouts from the bio-metrics, heart-rate, respiratory, dozens of other bio-functions, whilst Nathaniel flicked his ears back and a look of unhappiness spread across his muzzle.
"Do you ever question what we do here?" Nate asked, as he sniffed and stroked the rabbit, who seemed calm enough, but Nate knew that could change in a heartbeat. "I mean, does it feel wrong to experiment on lower class life forms? Why have we, as a society, not evolved and grown, we have super quantum computers, powerful AI that never need to sleep, breathe, take days off – why must we feel superior and subject lower lifeforms to these...barbaric...experimentation's?"
Frowning, Dr. Krushev looked up from the monitors, then she frowned deeper, before openly staring at him.
"If it wasn't for our experimentation, we'd never have found the cure for countless human diseases that killed millions over the millennia! Found new ways to improve the lives of billions, through scientific research and experimentation – sure, we have all those things you mentioned – that is true – but computers can only offer extrapolations and conduct simulations. We need living animals for the experiment, I know it hurts you, truly, but - "
Nate trembled, his ears slicking back, as he glanced sideways at Dr. Krushev and his eyes narrowed in anger.
"Doctor Krushev - " Nate growled, his nape fur prickling, as his anger rose, he couldn't help it – this was a hot button – and she knew it.
"Doctor Nathaniel Ashtail!" Dr. Krushev suddenly snapped, her voice loud and commanding, before she snapped a single word in Russian.
Nate's eyes went unfocussed, as he slid down to the floor on all fours, resting his forearms on the floor and paws splayed out, before he hung his head and uttered a submissive cough like a feral kangaroo, the command imprinted on him forcing his submission.
Doctor Krushev sighed, then shook her head and placed the rabbit's lifeless corpse on a tray, before she set it aside and looked down at the Kangaroo, who remained crouched and submissive.
"Subject 432 submissive to order, subject was showing signs of aggression and disobedience." Doctor Krushev commented, knowing the computer would record and log everything that happened in this lab. "Additional – subject to undergo psycho-analysis and results cross-referenced and checked. End log."
Placing a hand on Nate's neck, Dr. Krushev whispered another word in Russian and Nate gasped and shuddered, before he rose on trembling legs and Dr. Krushev helped him stand.
"Doctor, are you alright? You nearly fainted...here, come lay down on this table, that's it, easy now - " Dr. Krushev whispered, as she helped him over to an examination table and lay him down, loosening the tight collar of the lab coat.
"I – what happened - " Nate gasped, as he looked around, eyes barely focused and a distinctive disoriented look in his body language.
"Doctor, do I have your permission to do a quick examination? I think something might be wrong with you, I know you hate me taking a blood sample - " Doctor Krushev whispered.
Nate violently shuddered, before he swallowed and nodded, before Doctor Krushev walked away, returning with a auto-injector syringe.
"Alright in three, two..." Doctor Krushev pressed it to the back of Nate's neck, and he gasped and flinched, before he shuddered violently and began shaking with nausea as the cold claws of adrenaline flooded through his body.
Doctor Krushev sighed, as she placed a hand lightly on his shoulder, feeling him gagging and trembling, before her mind dredged up a memory, from so long ago....

Ten years ago, an accident in the Hybridisation Project – as this experiment was known – its purpose to create a subservient race of human/animal people, the Military funded the project, as did the Federal Government – as it was hoped a viable human/animal hybrid, subservient, obedient and above all – expendable – could replace front line soldiers in the war on the outer colonies. Their rationality, was why should citizens, as humans were classified, fight and die, when they could make a race of willing 'drones' as it were, who were conditioned to fight and die for their human overlords...
Billions had been spent, with failure after failure of the Project Icarus, as it was formally named, some experiments were un-viable, failing at the first cell division, some were horrible mutations that did not survive and in rare cases, killed the surrogate animal mother, until finally, purely by accident, a single viable embryo was born to a feral red kangaroo doe.
They had watched and waited, as the embryo grew and developed in her pouch, regular screenings and examinations of the Doe until her entire genome was known back to front, as they watched the first, viable anthropomorphic creature grow and develop. As it did, it soon become apparent, the Doe could not sustain the rapid growth of her hybrid Joey, and she was taken away – the Joey given to a young Scientist lady, a Doctor Krushev, who hand eared the now orphaned joey.
Trying to keep her scientific curiosity, and impartiality, Dr. Krushev isolated the joey from external stimuli and began her experiments on it. It was a young Buck, it's eyes barely open, long, slender legs, long forearms and unusually long ears, but despite her formality and experiments – regularly removing him from the pouch before nature would have intended, she forced him to stand, ignoring the frightened young kangaroo's cries and the way he grasped at her hands, shaking with fear and confusion.
Months past, as the kangaroo grew and developed, his personality one of curiosity and thoughtfulness, but he never forgot his mothers cruel experiments, as she would stretch his joints and make him do things that caused him to cry and curl up at night, sobbing himself to sleep. He didn't understand, but as he had no reference for anything else, he accepted he had done wrong, displeased his mother, and was being punished for it.
When he was a young adult, he was led with a collar around his neck, a blindfolding hood over his head, into a strange and frightening place. He was injected in the nape with a tranquilliser ,then as he felt his legs turn to jelly, he was picked up and strapped onto a table, where the hood was removed and his muzzle gagged. He struggled and cried out in fright, before Dr Krushev and her team began what felt like an endless battery of tests – from blood work, full genome examination, rectal examinations, having tubes forced down his throat to examine the complicated vocal cords and even the contents of his stomach pumped out for chemical and physical analysis.
After weeks of such invasive examinations, they had learned all they could from him – which revealed very little. His genome was studied, pints of blood were taken and examined, every MRI and CAT scan they did showed no unexpected abnormalities physically, and he was subjected to a battery of psychological tests, to test his ability to reason, think and remember...all for nothing, as no matter what they done, other than traumatise and frighten him, nothing conclusive was revealed – and Project Icarus was terminated...
Late that night, as he lay curled up and sobbing, clutching his tail between his legs and gripping it with his paws, he heard the hiss of his door opening, and he sniffled, then looked up, gazing into the dimly lit room, as a lab coated figure stepped in, then the door hissed closed.
"I've had my eye on you for some time young Buck - " Come a low, sighing voice, that dripped with an emotion the frightened Kangaroo couldn't place.
Blinking, the Buck sniffed at the air, his eyes narrowing as he frowned, then he squealed as he felt his nape gripped cruelly, and he was wrestled onto the floor and there was a hiss of an auto-injector on his neck, and within seconds, he was groggy and helpless, before he gasped and felt the human cruelly roll him onto his back and grip his slender wrists, pulling them up over his head and pinning them there.
Crying, frightened and struggling ineffectively, the Buck couldn't stop what was coming next – as he felt the human lay himself down on him, his weight holding him down, before the Kangaroo tried to scream as he felt the human move...then a sharp, agonising pain spread from his groin and inflamed his whole body.
"Yes, good little girl - " Whispered the human, as he grunted and raped the crying Kangaroo, feeling the tight walls contracting as he forced himself deeper. "You're wonderful and..."
With a cruel thrust, the human sheathed himself fully inside the Kangaroo, whose muffled cries were broken into heartbreaking sobs, as the human sighed in pleasure and he ejaculated deep inside the Buck, before panting and laying on him for several minutes, before he rose and released the Buck, who curled up and sobbed piteously, pulling his tail up between his legs as the tears streaked down his muzzle.
"Good little girl, I'll enjoy you...every night...you're just a stupid, failed experiment – but you might have a use..."
*
Every night, the human returned, every night, he took the frightened young Buck and made him the human's plaything, leaving him frightened, crying and sick to his stomach, this went on for months and months, as the Kangaroo grew, his musculature never attaining the full strength and power his feral brethren had, remaining more effeminate than masculine – and one night, as the human entered with thoughts of taking this crying young Buck – the Kangaroo snapped...his fear born out of fear and desperation to escape this horrible punishment which left him sick and crying...
"Come here little Doe - " Snarled the Scientist, as he moved towards where the kangaroo cringed against the wall, holding his slender paws out and coughing in fright. "I'm not going to ask you again..."
Shaking his long eared head, the Kangaroo grunted, coughed and shook, as the human growled at him as he produced a auto-injector from his pocket, then moved closer. Suddenly, the buck's eyes narrowed to slits, his muzzle curled back and with a snarl, he leapt, the powerful thigh muscles and tendons snapping like coiled springs.
Screaming, the human was gripped by the shoulders and thrust back through the door, the kangaroo gripping him tighter and tighter, blood soaking into the lab coat, before he leant back on his slender tail and the hind feet slashed out and down, sharp razor like hind claws curled, tearing through clothing and flesh, before disembowelling the would be rapist from chest to groin, then to ensure he killed him, the Kangaroo tilted his head and his muzzle slashed, powerful sharp teeth severing the cartoid artery.
Blood spurted, soaking his head and muzzle – some even gushing down his throat, before he snarled in feral rage and fear and kicked again, smashing the human back against a table and snapping his spine, before he crouched, his ears slicked back and paws splayed out on the floor, trembling with a new and most fearsome emotion...pure, feral rage and hatred...
He quivered, body flooded with adrenaline, his stomach flopping over itself, as he stared at the human, who gasped and slithered to the floor, before a growing pool of blood formed under his once spotless lab coat. Another door opened, and Dr. Krushev rushed in, before she stopped and stared, the kangaroo's head snapping around to glare at her before a low, threatening growl rumbled from deep within his blood soaked muzzle.
Dr. Krushev froze, instinct telling her that the laboratory subject had snapped – probably due to the stresses of its hybrid mind, but she held her hands out and away from her body, adopting a stance of harmlessness. He crawled closer, his eyes cruel and filled with hate, before she swallowed and slowly knelt, then lowered her head.
"Shhh - " She whispered, in what she hoped was a calming voice, before carefully holding her hands out, palms upwards.
He crawled closer, then flicked an ear, as he froze and stretched his neck out, sniffing at her, before his whiskers twitched and he just remained crouched and watching, his body quivering.
"It's alright, I won't hurt you little one...come on, shhh..." Dr Krushev whispered, before she held her fingers up to his nose, letting him inhale her scent.
He did so, before his whiskers twitched again, then without warning, he leapt on her, wrapping his arms around her neck. Dr. Krushev screamed in fright, but he gripped her tight, then began crying hysterically, his tears running down his bloodied muzzle and spattering onto her immaculate lab coat. Tentatively, Dr. Krushev cuddled him, rocking him soothingly, before one hand reached over behind him and picked up the auto-injector...then she pulled him tight and with a sob, she snapped it against his neck and pulled the trigger, the hiss of the tranquilliser making him scream and try to pull away, before his body went limp.
He leaned back, eyes going glassy, as the tranquilliser spread throughout his body, before he got dragged into unconsciousness, his lips moved, whiskers twitching, as he stared at her, then a guttural, almost animal like voice come from him...
"Mother...why?..."
