#16 of Syngeneia Kathairein

You like dark fantasy, dragons, adventure and a bit of romance?

You want to see the work of a professional video game writer?

You find AI's interesting?

This story of mine has all of that! Syngeneia Kathairein puts you in the shoes of Entropion, a purple dragon tasked to ''make the world right again''. (although he is a jackass in this prequel intro!) The view is set in first person view from Entropion's POV. This story is inspired by warcraft, forgotten realms, spyro the dragon and dragon age, among other things. AIdungeon's makeup is a bit messy, but > arrows denote saying or doing something. Part of the story is AI generated, please keep that in mind.

I tried. allergy is pretty bad but my energy is going up and headaches down

I'm going to need to shedule myself more rigidly.

Tomorrow evening it is time. the rage toxins should have made their way to the population by now. The Zygonita breakout is also scheduled soon. Koriza informs you where to run after breaking your disguise. Xenia looks at you. "Enty now is the best moment." Xenia says. "It is then" you say back. > You get on the stage used for announcements and reveal your true purple dragon self. You are a purple dragon, a legend which existence has been denied for the longest time. This moment is legendary for the population of Cytheron. You shout out an command "Orpheus and Deimodo are IMPOSTERS! Wreck havoc among the false theocracy guilty of making the 7 thrones disappear!" This in combination with the rage venom has the desired effect. The entire city goes berserk. You hop off the stage and the entire population of the commons and workers revolt. You look at the carnage, you smile. Never again will these plebs be ruled over by a false theocracy. You, Koriza and Xenia scatter, each going for individual objectives. When you rush the path Koriza told you, you hear the roar of angry mushrooms rampaging in the distance. It fills you with determination. You have freed the plebs, you are not a hero just yet. You got no idea why Koriza sent you on this road but you trust her and it becomes clear real soon. You arrive at an crematorium. Once you burst inside you find a lot of "overdue" corpses. You are about to show the theocracy why cremating the dead is essential. > You use your dark magic to raise the menagerie of corpses as Draghouls and zombies to let them cause even more chaos. You raise the corpses as a horde of undead. The bodies which should be at peace forever are now forced to march against their will. It is both tragic and beautiful. Ironic too, for the theocracy to create zombies in pursuit of "life". A necromancer lives several lives, each one dying and getting reborn again, just like the necromancer himself. You arrive at the crematorium where the menagerie awaits you. You raise them as Draghouls and zombies. After setting the grotesque horde loose, you notice opportunities to sneak through multiple layers of defense, the under powered military is rushing towards the rebellion of Zygonita, civilians and undead. You rendezvous with Koriza and Xenia in front of the spire of Cytheron.

Koriza is satisfied by your speed. "Alright, let's hit the spire fast and hard before Deimodo and backup arrives to siege the city!" You enter the palace through the front doors. The guards are either dead or fleeing and the threesome take advantage of the chaos. You keep alert for any reinforcements or traps while you use you corrosive gas breath to burn melt the gold leaf door. You frantically search as Xenia shudders "expect trouble." Koriza responds "probably. We'll have to face it head on. This is a once in a lifetime chance!" You fly up in circles to reach the top of the spire. You reach the top, the light gem floats, emitting a beam of light that shields Ietros. Under it is a dodecahedron supplying power to it. You give Koriza and Xenia a mischievous look. "Looks important. Vandalism time?!" You laugh, pushing the dodecahedron over with your body. The light gem loses power and begins to darken, you give it a few tries, as the light is rapidly fading. You find yourself struggling to breath, the light gem lost its glow. You hear an arcane tune being hummed, you look closer to see the floating dodecahedron now lying on it's side. It appears to be of blue dragon design with arcane chains to tether it. "Hey Koriza, this must be the shield charger. Help me disengage the lock and open the panel" you ask her in a stern voice. Xenia adds "I feel there is a living being in there. Strange." Xenia is right, when you slotted open the dodecahedron, a platinum dragon emerges. These are the purest of white dragons. A rainbow of opalescence radiates from it. You and Koriza stare at it agape. Xenia speaks "you... you are Eleos, throne of mercy!" It seems the corrupt theocracy used her as a power source! "Please! I'm Eleos, Throne of mercy, not a chair for abuse!" You and Koriza are in awe. You are looking at a god. Xenia is closing her eyes "I feel such sadness from it" she says in a murmur. The dragon speaks up, it's voice having tones of every possible instrument "Yes, they are sadists, who use me as a battery to power the light shield. Purple dragon, shard of the primordial mosaic, you must free my 6 siblings." Eleos is obviously weakened by decades of... this. She is the throne of mercy, the house of mercy is the organization Xenia belongs to. Xenia seems nervous and conflicted. > You say "Xenia, Eleos, I command you to flee, discord is brewing as you said. Get Eleos and yourself secure, NOW! Koriza and I will delay the enemy!" You voice cracks the stone floor with its ferocity, Koriza takes a step backwards. Xenia raises an eyebrow "Are you sure?" she asks in a whisper. You roar back "YES!" Xenia's eyes are watery and red, she looks down. "Alright, we shall leave." All of you know this is the right call, but Xenia is worried about you and Koriza. > You say "Hey, Koriza? If this is our last stand I want you to know one thing: it has been a clusterfuck but with you by my side I wouldn't have it any other way!" Koriza smiles back "I know, partner. Thanks." You look at Koriza, who is biting her lips nervously. "it has been an honor serving by your side." Koriza's lips form into a content smile but the tears won't stop welling up in her eyes. "Okay, let's do this!" Before it starts, it is over. You grab the light gem to greatly boost your light magic. However, a magical trap on it seals all your magical capabilities and weakens you greatly. You are defeated already! You weren't fast enough. You were so sure Koriza would survive but she fell before you did. A muscular diamond dragon and multiple guards enter the room. He speaks to you and Koriza. I am Deimodo, but sure you know that, my former student" he looks at Koriza. Deimodo trained Koriza and the Korizan military long ago. He continues. "You have no idea what you are doing, do you, Entropion? Ietros is weak as it is! Now the black dragons and shadow schism will devastate the country! I kept Ietros alive! You will get a comfortable imprisonment for eradicating the black dragons from Korizan." You and Koriza agree to these terms, not that you got any say over this. You and Koriza share a cell, it's more of a private quarters. You decide to behave for now. > You say "I doubt Deimodo knows about my telepathic gift. I can relay identifying information to Disarria. What you got, Koriza? Any idea where we are?" Koriza looks depressed, but after a few moments her eyes widen in surprise.

"I have an idea where we are located, it's an enclave converted into a prison. We are in a valley and I memorized the mountaintop formations." Koriza explains in detail. Afterwards you self isolate and meditate. > You focus your mind and telepathically contact Disarria. You send a message to Disarria. She is surprised to receive one but answers it immediately. "What is it, Enty?" You are surprised it worked with the inhibition effect of your cell. Dark Siphon and Telepathy are powers granted by supernatural beings, not magic manipulation. > You say "Disarria, didn't Xenia return to the submarine?" "Yes, she did." "Koriza and I are in a prison cell. We were captured before we made it to the beachhead." "I am aware, Xenia and this peacock dragon returned and told me. Any idea where you are?" You relay all the info to Disarria. > You telepathically communicate with Koriza. She is nearby, but you want to share this in secret. "Hi," you say, surprising her. "What is it?" she answers. You tell her what you talked about with Disarria. "I doubt the theocracy will hold us in these cells for long." She gets up and starts pacing. "We have to make a break for it then." > You say "The shield is down, Korizan and the EFPL will attack soon . Especially since we are missing. Do you think Deimodo will insist on this route under a looming invasion?" "Yes. Deimodo is stubborn as all hell. He's as bad as black dragons in that regard. He will drag Ietros into decades of instability in his flawed quest for justice." Koriza's energy feels less energetic as your telepathic conversation carries on. You break it off and take a nap yourself. You wake up to the scent of croissants. For a moment you think you are back with your friends and Xenia baked for you. Your illusion is broken when you open your eyes. Koriza smiles. "Hey babe, as you can see they feed us well here almost makes me feel bad about plotting escape. Almost." She grins. These croissants got horseradish, anchovies and blue cheese as filling. You cringe in disgust as you spit it out. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Koriza laughs. "Yeah not everyone's taste but they are really good with coffee!" > You say "Moldy cheese and seafood ought to be outlawed! Crime against taste! Hey, can we do that when back home at Korizan? We are the rulers..." "Oh sure, we can ban whatever we want. But trust me, you will get sick of it after a while." Koriza grins. "Feeling a bit tired? I bet you are hungry again. I would be if I were you. Want some more croissants?" > You say " I'd rather dunk a vat of sewage marinades in the shadow schism here pits. " Koriza rolls her eyes. "It's not that bad." "It is... Oh fuck it, I'm starving." You say and stuff your face with the croissants. You feel intense shame by defiling yourself with this culinary war crime. Koriza laughs. "I'll be right back, I got to gather intel. You think about what to do next. If telepathy still works dark Siphon should too. Your collars block magic. Magic inhibition is a power in itself. You wait for Koriza to return. She comes back from wandering the enclave a bit. She found out this is the old house Patience hold. The irony is not lost on you. "Hey, let me take a look at that collar. I got an idea" you tell Koriza. > You use dark Siphon on the collar to absorb it's anti magic capabilities. You begin focusing. You concentrate on the collar's magenta light and dark Siphon. The collar's light flickers. It works! Koriza is puzzled. "What are you doing?" she says. > You say "Siphoned it, now if I do it on my own collar I can fully use magic in here. " You grab your collar and focus. The collar's magenta light flickers more and begin to drain. You can feel the collar weakening, you keep it on to not alarm your captors. You can use magic! "Holy shit!" You exclaim. > You say "The other prisoners are magic users too. If I restore their spell casting we can take over the entire prison. " "Are you sure?" "No, but we have to try." Koriza grins. "Let's do this." You and Koriza feel the collars fall off. You still feel the urge to not use magic, however it's less intense now.

You can resist it. You are a powerful dragon again. "Okay, so how do we go about this?" You ask Koriza. She explains to you it's quite simple. You will simply do it in transit from or to activities as the guards don't pay too much attention to a bunch of disarmed white dragons. You are just expected to stand in the yard and do nothing else. You spend the rest of the day planning and preparing for tomorrow. You go to sleep thinking about how you will use your abilities to save yourself and the other prisoners. You a Koriza look outside the large windows in your cell. A magenta shooting star flashed through the sky. "Wow. You saw that? I didn't know magenta colored ones exist!" You say to Koriza. Before Koriza can respond, you hear an old man screaming "ALIENS! APOCALION IS NIGH! ALI-" you hear loud thuds as the guards apprehended the old lunatic. You chuckle nervously. "The stories about intelligent life up on the planetary rings are just old wives tales. Right?" You ask Koriza. She doesn't answer. > You go to sleep, holding Koriza close as you are slightly unnerved the outer planes void spawn may have took interest in your world. You try to silence the thought. To your surprise, you arrive in dreamscape. Koriza is surprised as well, neither of you has prompted this. You look around and it looks like a heavenly version of Ietros. Many vivid colors, even impossible ones you can't describe in your waking life grace the landscape. This is Ietros when it was in prime. You and Koriza frolic and hop around in flower fields of impossible beauty. Vibrancy of comfort and safety washes over you. A gentle warmth draws closer as you spot Eleos. Her beauty is beyond measure. The platinum dragon tilts her head to the side and smirks lovingly. Koriza can only respond with "wow" to the vibrant spectacle. "How did we get here?" You ask. "It is my dreamland, silly!" The dragoness replies. "Like Catharsion and his dream realm?" You say in confusion. "I can take any of my faithful to my dreamlands as I please~" She explains with a wink. You blush slightly and feel the warmth in your cheeks. It is nothing romantic, more like a mother speaking to a child. It's clear Xenia is inspired by Eleos and her teachings. You look around at the beautiful landscape surrounding you. > You say "This was Ietros before everything went to shit, isn't it?" "Yes, the old days. I try to remember them as fondly as possible." She explains. Koriza speaks up, "So where are the dragons?" All of a sudden, several dragons of various colorations appear out of nowhere. They all look like they are from different time periods and none of them match your own perceptions of their colors. Eleos sighs "most of these subspecies are extinct after the Apocalion crisis. I can feel the darkness in you both, you've suffered a lot in your lifetimes." Eleos takes both you and and Koriza in a gentle wing hug. > You say "Nothing can purge the entropy of mind, but both Koriza and you found out the light can make the mental scars seem so far away. " "I know. You have suffered, but you two still have hope in your hearts. No longer worry about the past and enjoy the present moment." You begin to see what she means. There is no need to worry about anything else except enjoying the company of your friends. You ask Eleos if she brought you here to encourage you and that saving the other 6 thrones is on your to do list. Eleos smiles. "Clever one. Is there anything else you'd like to know?" Koriza speaks up "if you don't mind, is there life on the planetary rings of Ietros?" "You and your lover here get satisfaction out of discovery, I will not berieve you of that joy. I can assure you that the 8th color is not lost" your gut tells you this is likely. Maybe the legends are true? Regardless that is for later as you got no way to fly that high. The Singularity did tell you that eventually you will see other worlds. Syngeneia has plenty of trouble yet to solve. You focus on your world for now. > You got something to ask too, when Orpheus and Deimodo used you as shield charging battery you were still able to observe you through dreamscape? Eleos tells you she has been watching you, Disarria and Spyrion since birth while in that prison. Koriza gives Eleos a weirded out eyebrow raise. You don't mind this angelic being took interest in your life.

You ask why she hasn't reached out. Eleos tells you that she certainly tried but that doing so would overextend her energy and was very painful. > You say "How about my darker episodes? You don't seem to be mad I caused the shadow schism, purged Purperkust to stop a plague and raised the dead." "I know about these things, and I'm not mad at you, your heart and mind are your own. I would be worried if you didn't have these urges. You are a being of darkness and shadows after all. However, it is very important that you stay grounded and focused. You are in a unique position to unite this planet under one banner and give all the races hope for the future. Remember even the vilest of creatures deserves to dream." > You say "Well, the destiny of the purple dragons is to unite the world. Too much light causes complacency and dependence. Darkness is needed to keep the balance don't you think?" "Darkness is balance, but too much of it will cause calamity and the collapse of society." "Which is why the darkness must be led by a strong hand." "Too strong a hand will crush what it clings to most." You nod. It seems the purpose of this trip was indeed to inspire. The rest of the time is spent cuddling with the angelic dragoness and Koriza. Eleos comforting the both of you and how the thrones all went to the deepest dreamscape level like you did. "Apocalion may not get weaker, but we sure get stronger "Eleos says. The three of you talk with each other on the rest of the way there. You all laugh, smile and talk about your pasts. Koriza speaks about her sister, who sadly didn't survive the rape trauma. She says this made her angry at first, then just emptiness... Still, it left a scar on her character. Eleos tells her that you are a great partner for her. She agrees. Eleos sends you off to the waking world as you got a job to do. You wake up, just in time for breakfast in your golden cage of a prison. You kick-start the plan by disabling the collars of the other prisoners. It goes incredibly easily, and soon the house patience internees used light magic to hold the guards in static. You and Koriza flee as the house patience prisoners decide to stay. Saying their time is not yet. Soon you and Koriza are in the woods.

"So, what's the next plan?" you ask. "Well now that we have a break out, the guards are going to be on high alert... so I guess we will lay low for awhile." You nod and snuggle close to her as she wraps her scaly body around you protectively. "I love you" You say. "I love you too" she replies. > You say "I got my magic back, I can teleport us to the sub if you are ready to?" "I got my magic back, I can teleport us to the sub if you are ready to?" Koriza nods. "Yes please! I'm sick of running!" She cuddles up against you as you concentrate on the sub. Soon, the two of you are in your shared room. You collapse on the bed. "Enough crazy for a LIFETIME." Referring to the Cytheron adventure. Koriza nods. "Sometimes I wish we could just live here in peace." You nod in agreement. The last few days have been a whirlwind of action and violence. > You say "Do you like living on a submarine or did you prefer your old royal ship?" "Do you like living on a submarine or did you prefer your old royal ship?" Koriza thinks for a moment. "The royal ship was bigger, but there's something nice about being underwater and only coming ashore occasionally. The sea air is also much nicer." You nod in agreement. Soon you drift off to sleep... In the morning you wake to find Koriza not in bed. You wander the sub looking for her. You stumble on Eleos and Redsamuru. Redsamuru calls her "peacock" but Eleos finds it cute. You sigh "red, why do you bully everyone we take on our crew?" "Because I can." He replies with his eyes closed. You shake your head and look to Koriza, who tries to explain. "I'm sorry, I just needed some quiet time." You walk over to her and kiss her cheek. "No worries." She smiles. Later that night you go back to sleep... or at least try to... The next day you wake up and during breakfast you discuss the situation. Your next move is freeing the 6 other thrones. Disarria proposes to have 2 teams, one led by you and the other by her. You, Zalisi and Koriza form a team and Disarria, Xenia and Redsamuru form team 2. Eleos has to stay hidden so she will stay in a small village near the sub under false identity. "Let's see who can find more. Let the games begin!" Disarria says. You and Koriza groan as this shouldn't be a contest.
