Syngeneia Kathairein part 29
#30 of Syngeneia Kathairein
You like dark fantasy, dragons, adventure and a bit of romance?
You want to see the work of a professional video game writer?
You find AI's interesting?
This story of mine has all of that! Syngeneia Kathairein puts you in the shoes of Entropion, a purple dragon tasked to ''make the world right again''. (although he is a jackass in this prequel intro!) The view is set in first person view from Entropion's POV. This story is inspired by warcraft, forgotten realms, spyro the dragon and dragon age, among other things. AIdungeon's makeup is a bit messy, but > arrows denote saying or doing something. Part of the story is AI generated, please keep that in mind
No, I am not going to do that cheesy exit message again.
The weather is worsening too. Overcast darkens the environment and the occasional snowflake flutters down. Soon the wind sets in. You have to walk to the submarine as flight is out of the question. After a few hours the snowfall is so heavy you can barely see. You begin to see some figures through the blizzard. The only refuge you have is given by the pine forest you wandered into. The 3 of you sit down and cuddle up to wait for the blizzard to cease... > You say "..... fuck, how long have we been waiting? Zal? Dis? " Disarria wakes up. "What... where are we? I remember we were in the middle of a blizzard..." "Yeah, we're still in it." You say. "How long have we been here?" Disarria asks. "I don't know, I just woke up." You say. "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Disarria shouts as she gets up and runs out into the snow. > You say "Dis, Zal? Land me a hand? I want to use frost magic to build us a dome. We may be stuck here for days and I sure as hell am not fit enough to teleport us!" Disarria nods. You create a small barrier around the 3 of you and begin to make a snow shelter. Soon, you have created a small shelter that protects you from the worst of the blizzard. The ground trembles, as if a meteor grown many tiny legs and pounds away violently. The creature lets out a gurgling scream, as if the noise of a thousand corpses being sucked into a wood chipper You've heard of this happening before, and you're not going to let it get you. You run around the barrier you created, searching for something to kill it. If you have to, for survival, you could exhaust your limited energy to teleport... > You say "Shit bitch fucking faggotry! What the hell we up to now?!" The rumbling intensifies! With rapid speed a giant... building?! Emerges, opens up and swallows the 3 of you. The Palacipede trapped you inside itself! You wake up later in a derelict cellar... in a mess of what appears to be scrap. The structure you are in is moving as it shakes left and right with each turn. "What happened?" You ask. "We teleported... I think." Disarria says. Zal looks at you as she pulls you up, "Thank Genesion you're alive." Something is roused! Magical constructs draw close. Dozens of bird houses with chicken legs surround you. It seems the scrapheap is a nest... of sorts.
"Well, I don't think they're going to eat us..." You say. Zalisi exhales frost and yells in fear at the constructs. They begin to peck her, but their beaks are merely made of wood and do not harm her. You make a light barrier around the 3 of you and repel them. "We need to find a way out of here." Zalisi says. You barrier illuminates the room and the birdhouse creatures flee to the dark corners while whistling like frightened flutes. > You say "Wizards..... why would you make constructs like these?!" "Because the noble elite are bored?" Disarria asks. "But.... why chickens?! Why not lions or bears or something more threatening?!" You say. "Children toys?" Disarria says. The 3 of you look around and head deeper inside the Palacipede. You head up multiple stairs, carefully, as the structure moves around you. Soon you found the main hall and in the middle stands a cabin with chicken legs. A full sized log cabin! It appears to be inert. Asleep? You are not sure. "What now?" Disarria asks. "We look around." You say. You enter the cabin cautiously. Inside is a mess, the cabin is also asleep and not paying attention to its surroundings. You explore the cabin and find clothing, hundreds of books, musical instruments and more. "Somebody was bored." Disarria says as she picks up a golden flute. "Look!" Zalisi says as she finds a wardrobe full of women's clothing. > You say "Bizarre... does the creature collect or grow these?" "I don't know." You say as you look at a dollhouse sized version of the cabin you are in. "I don't think it's a he and it isn't a creature, it's a she." Zal says. "How do you know that?" Disarria asks. "Look at the clothing she wears, they're dresses and elegant." > You say "Don't humanize it sis. It's a thing. A construct. " "It's a girl." Zal says. "You can't tell just by the clothing!" You say. Zalisi frowns at you and begins to argue back when Disarria interrupts, "Look, I'm sure it's been years since this place was last in use so let's just explore this cabin and leave, we're not supposed to be here after all." You nod your head in agreement and begin to look around the cabin. > You say "Looks like a regular cabin, despite the freaky chicken legs. " The 3 of you glide out of the cabin and resume your exploration of the Palacipede. The rush forward is pretty peaceful, until you see a lonely blue metallic dragon. She appears old and is large. Large enough to be stuck here due her size. She slowly moves her head towards you three. "Oh? Palacipede ate non food again?" She asks. "We're sentient beings! We're not food!" You say angrily. "Oh." She says as she realizes her mistake. "Sorry." She slowly backs away from you three. "My name is Yaag Baab. What are your names?" "I'm Zal!" "I'm Disarria!" > You say "Entropion. Are these house related constructs your handiwork?" "Partly... the houster species are druidic constructs made by the green dragons. I am a caretaker." Yaag Baab admits. Disarria asks "so the one we are in is an ancient one that grew to palace size?" "Correct." Yaag says. "The green dragons are long gone, correct?" You say. "Correct" Yaag says. > You say "As you can see, we are two purple dragons. Aren't you going to fawn over the fact? " "No. I've seen many purple dragons and several are more powerful than you. The only reason why you two are so conceited is due to the fact your kind were ordinators in your old world. This world has no ruler." Yaag says. "I'm not sure if that's good or bad, Yaag." You say. "It's good for me." Disarria says as she begins to fly around the palace. > You say "You must be very old then, are you saying other purple dragons didn't take their duty as world guardians seriously?" "Correct. Most of them were young and stupid. They wanted to be entertainers or artisans or something else. So the elders said they'll be artisans and adventurers on their own time but when the world needs saving they better show up." Yaag says. "I see." You say. "Well I'm glad you three are here now, the world could do with less gaseous abominations." > You say "They did not deserve the blessing of the scale, many non-purples take this world more serious than that.
By abominations, do you mean Apocalion's followers?" "Correct. Apocalion's arrival on this world was a mistake, he wasn't supposed to be here. His followers are trying to make him stronger by spreading chaos and death. You are the only ones I know who are able to stand up against him." > You say "Kirpichnikov has the frost gem, we got fire, dark and light so far. What the hell is up with Kirpichnikov and the Eclipse twins anyway?!" "The eclipse twins are sociopaths, they enjoy pain. Why else would they do what they do? They enjoy others' fear and pain and that's what gets them off. They're sadistic, masochistic and just plain Evil. I've worked with them before, I will never do it again." "The best way to survive the eclipse twins is to keep your mind on the job and off what they're doing to your body. Kirpichnikov? Egomaniac! Bah! I got to show you something..." you wonder how, she seems stuck here. A birdhouse whistling its fluted tone frantically runs up to you and jumps up and down, it's obvious it wants you to follow it. You follow it across a network of stairs, corridors and corners. A Houster Cabin steps aside as it sees you coming, well, you assume it sees... you end up in a large circular room with.... the green nature emerald in the middle on an altar. Tons of Housters, Mansionesters and even a few Manorests surround it. It seems to be the Palacipede's heart. You can't take this gem. > You say "Awesome.... it seems the Palacipede depends on the emerald. That's a bit of a pickle, we need it too. " Disarria pokes the emerald. "Well, maybe someday when we figured a replacement" she says. Yaag Baab's ghostly avatar appears beside you. "One day the old behemoth must be put to sleep, at that point it will just be a building" Yaag says. > You say "Sacrifices against Apocalion are necessary. We need a plan first. " Yaag Baab's projection nods. "Your purple dragon powers are great, both of you. Brimming with magic... go now, we shall meet again soon." After a flash, the 3 of you are back in the submarine. You got teleported by Yaag Baab. "I'm glad the 3 of us are here, I need to talk to you about something." You and Disarria sit down. You can see Koriza is anxious about getting started. "I know we're all a team but I can't help feeling that you're deliberately excluding me from the plan, I mean, I don't want to be a bitch or anything but don't you think I should be included?"
You quickly update with Nalomuzo and Redsamuru. Seems Nalomuzo improved his speech to a more worldly standard meanwhile. "Good. We should speak about.... eclipse twins" Nalomuzo says. > You say "The artifact the Eclipse twins use to mutate people for their twisted entertainment.... is it a violet dragon device?" "Yes, it is. A transmutator for research and Xenite creation. They took it from me! Even an untrained peasant could use it to cause mayhem. It's a catalyst, like the elemental gems you use but not as powerful." Nalomuzo states matter of factly. > You say "Fantastic. Two sadist egomaniacs in control of mutagenic magic. Nalo, are you familiar with dreamscape? We need to go there." "Of course. The violet kin use dreamscape for communication regularly, and much more... you and Disarria will see" Disarria shows a toothy grin. Disarria comments "according to the myths, violet dragons master everything obscure and out of reach for regular dragons. We will learn many new things for sure! About all 7 magic schools." Nalomuzo corrects her "there are 11, 4 of synthetic origin not normally found on Syngeneia." > You say "So that's how you improved your speech. When will you take us? Disarria and I got calls to make in dreamscape." Nalomuzo nods. "Tonight. Primitive potions don't match up to violet dragon dream striding An efficiency increase of 400% is expected" Disarria's eyes widen. "Wow. Does this work everywhere in dreamscape?" Nalomuzo shakes his head. "Catharsion. That is where our powers fail. White dragons master the depths, we master the speeds." "What do you mean Primitive?" You ask. Nalomuzo assures you "Don't worry, it is a compliment, compared to our magic your alchemy is like a toddler trying to grasp the concept of dreaming. Almost there, but not quite." "Gee thanks" you reply. After watching fish and arctic coral for hours, it is time. You and Disarria get on yours beds. You turn to Nalomuzo who gets in a bit later. "So you're going to cast a spell or something?" "Positive. When we are somnolescent I will use the racial power of our people. It will enter us into dreamscape" sounds very promising to you! Stay tuned until next week!
