Here's a fun apocalyptic poem. Go nuts.

Society stood proud and gleamed,

They had the world and more it seemed.

They conquered space and cured disease,

Though this was long ago.

However, peace is always fleeting,

Never firm, the calm receding.

Species seemed to stop agreeing,

Though this was long ago.

Achievements made were now undone,

Discoveries were used as guns.

Explosions played a requiem,

Though this was long ago.

The fires drew maliciously,

Crimson hues of blood dyed cities.

Landscape too, was scorched and empty,

Though this was long ago.

The factions fighting soon agreed,

Their methods seemed a bit unclean.

They switched instead to chemistry.

Though this was long ago.

Decades passed without a treaty,

Fresh air was now toxicity,

A gas mask now the joie de vivre.

Though this was long ago.

Now the world no longer gleamed,

war now seemed to be so fleeting.

With nothing left to be undone,

Though this was long ago.

The species warred maliciously.

then past and present did agree,

it was time to make a treaty,

And life will never grow.

The end :D
