The whole crowd of dragons gathered on the streets of Warfang during the night. And everyone is celebrating. The celebration is for Malefor's defeat and after Spyro used his power to repair and save the world, that the long ongoing war has finally come to an end.
Me and Spyro were on top of the wall that surrounds the city. Along with Sparx the dragonfly. All three of us walking together.
We were meeting up with Flame, Ember, and Hunter on the wall. Since the streets were too crowded for all of us to hang. Also too, Spyro would attract a lot of attention because now he's the hero.
I grinned at him as I walked beside him. His purple scales and that yellow underbelly. Those golden horns, he really does look handsome.
And it took me a long time to tell him how I really felt about him. It was right at the moment when Spyro saved the world, that I've whispered my feelings to him.
Ever since we both survived and ever since the war has been over, we both became a couple. Even several adult dragons were shocked that me and Spyro are together that way.
But we didn't care, they all should realize that I'm not The Terror of the Skies anymore. That I'm just plain, NORMAL Cynder, nothing more.
Sparx who is flying next to Spyro's head exclaimed, "So what, bro? That doesn't mean that you should at least have some privacy to yourself!" Then he patted himself, "I think I'm going have to tell the Guardians about this, because this is bogus!"
Spryo chuckled as we walked further on, "Bogus? Sparx, you really are a card! I don't think anyone says bogus anymore."
I rolled my eyes and said to Sparx, "Yeah, and besides that, you might want to cut the lingo just a little tiny bit."
Sparx glared at me, crossing his arms as he continued to fly forward, "Why? You'd not agree that you and my purple bro are getting so much attention every day as it is?"
I shrugged my shoulders as we walked, "I wouldn't mind it, but I guess I understand your point. Too much attention every day and it has been two months since Spyro saved the world."
Spyro smiled at me and said, "WE both saved the world. Don't forget yourself." He nuzzled my neck while we walked. I leaned my head to his and nuzzled back.
Sparx rolled his eyes, "Guys, get a room!" Me and Spyro laughed, but Sparx wasn't laughing, he still had an annoyed look on his face. Sparx added after me and Spyro pulled away from each other, "But you know what, spikey?" I looked at him and he said, "Thank you for looking after Spyro when you guys went after the scary, evil purple dragon who wanted to destroy the world. It...It really meant a lot to me."
I smiled at him, "And here I thought you'd never trust me at all. Even after all the times I've proved to you that I'd changed."
Sparx shrugged his arms, "Well I just needed a wake up call. You staying close to Spyro to the very end, it...It was a bigger wake up call to me than before." He raised a finger, "Of course, there were several wake up calls, but when you went with him to fight Malefor alone, now that was the wake up I needed."
I exclaimed, "Well did you forget that I was stuck with Spyro anyways? You know, because of that chain that Malefor crafted?"
Spyro giggled, "Yeah, and I thought that me and Cynder would be stuck together forever. Even sometimes we need some time apart."
I gazed at Spyro and lovingly said to him, "I'd love to be stuck with you forever."
Sparx groaned and muttered, "What did I just say just now? GET A ROOM!"
I raised my voice a bit to Sparx, "I'm not even doing anything to him!"
Sparx deviously grinned, "Sure you are. And by the way, you better take it easy on my bro. He can be...Shy and tender."
Spyro shot a glare at him, "Thanks Sparx, thanks for saying that to her."
Sparx flew over Spyro's head and gave the top of his head a pat, "You're welcome!" Then he whispered to Spyro's ear, "Pssst, also too buddy, don't jump to it straight away. I heard the ladies love to take it slow."
I angrily said to him, "I heard that, you gnat!"
Sparx shot back, "I'm not a gnat, I'm a dragonfly!"
Spyro laughed and said in a calm voice, "Alright guys, knock it off. I can see Flame and the others up ahead."
I followed Spyro's gaze and saw that Flame, Ember, and Hunter were chatting together. Hunter, being the cheetah warrior, standing tall over them.
I smiled at the sight of them and said to Spyro and Sparx, "You know, I haven't seen Hunter since all that war stuff happened, a few days after we came back to Warfang. He went back to Avalar, back to his village."
Spyro had a curious look on his face, "Yeah speaking of which, I wonder if he became the new chief of his village. I'm wondering if Chief Prowlus stepped down and let Hunter take his place. He would be a great leader."
Sparx flew ahead of us and said, "Well, we all saw Hunter come to Warfang this morning and we haven't talked to him about it yet." Sparx whirled around in the air and beckoned us with his hand, "C'mon, what are you waiting for?" Then he whirled and flew fast to Hunter and the others, waving at them.
I giggled and said to Spyro, "I still can't believe me and Sparx are pals."
Spyro giggled too, "Yeah, and I can't believe that after we both showed up after saving the world, Sparx saw me and flew at me, crying and saying, 'oh man I thought you were gone bro! I thought I would never see you again!'"
I laughed a bit and said, "Well it goes to show that despite that Sparx is sometimes a coward, he really does have heart. Not to mention he has always stuck by you, no matter where you went. Where it was the Well of Souls or The Convexity."
Spyro nodded, "Yeah, he's braver than he thinks." Then he added, "I even know that my foster mom and dad are very proud of their son."
I said, "I agree with that, so am I."
Me and Spyro got closer to Flame, Ember, Sparx, and Hunter all in a group. We both sat down on our haunches near them.
Hunter grinned down at us, "Spyro, Cynder, I was beginning to wonder when you guys were going to show up here. You guys did say that during the celebration we would all meet up here."
Flame and Ember both smirked at us, then Ember said to Spyro with a seductive tone, "Yeah, we, ESPECIALLY ME, were waiting for a long time for you." Flame rolled his eyes, then Ember giggled.
Spyro waved a paw, giving them an apologetic look, "Sorry we were late. It kinda took us a while to get here."
I let out an annoyed sigh and said, "Yeah before we could leave our home, Spyro's fans surrounded the house and we had to wait for a while for them to leave. Then we basically flew all the way here when the night came."
Spyro scratched the back of his neck with his wing tip, "Honestly Hunter, I'm really tired of all the attention. I don't know how much more I could take!"
Hunter and the others laughed. Then Hunter said, "Well you and Cynder can stay at my village in Avalar. Of course, I wouldn't guarantee that you guys wouldn't attract attention."
I giggled a bit, "Oh boy, I'm guessing that the cheetahs loved our victory in the war as well?"
Hunter nodded, "You guys really proved Chief Prowlus wrong. He's so surprised that two little dragons like you would take on The Dark Master alone."
Spyro had a glum look on his face, hung his head low and closed his eyes tight, "Well we weren't alone at first. There was also...Ignitus."
I had a sad look as well and Hunter sighed, "Yes I know, he...Was a good dragon."
Spyro nodded and raised his head, "Yeah...He was."
Flame gave Spyro a comforting smile, "Aw come on pal. I'm sure he's proud that you've saved the world. You were his student before, and I'd be surprised if I was him."
I nodded to Flame, "He is. I'm sure his is. Knowing Ignitus."
Flame said to me, "And he's proud of you as well."
That brought a big smile on my face, "Thanks Flame."
Sparx said, "Hey can we stop talking about that old bag of flame? We already attended his funeral and all that stuff. So can we put all the sad stuff behind us?"
Spyro glared at his foster brother, "Sparx, not cool."
Sparx shrugged his arms, "I was trying to help." Then all of us glared at him and Sparx shrugged again, "What? Guys, you need to lighten up."
Hunter sighed and nodded, "I know that Sparx calling the late fire guardian an old bag of flame is wrong, but he's right. We all need to let go of him. He would want us to live on."
Me and the others nodded in agreement. Hunter raised his hand high in the air and said, "To Ignitus."
Then all of us said this at the same time, "To Ignitus."
*****
I curled around on my bed back at home, just sleeping alone without Spyro.
I wasn't in much mood for celebrating anymore, so I went home early, leaving Spyro alone with the others.
After all, the whole celebration is about him, not about me. I wasn't the one who saved the world, he did. I didn't use any kind of power to save the world, I wasn't the purple dragon.
Spyro is the purple dragon and he was the one who did it.
I woke up in my sleep and rose my head from the pillow, still laying on my stomach. I sighed to myself, now I can't sleep.
I looked down at my pillow and then a small tear trickled down from my eye and fell off my cheek, landing on the fabric of the pillow.
Even when I saved the world with Spyro, not everyone thinks that I'm a hero too. Well I don't want to be a hero, I just want to be accepted as a friend. But for two months after all that happened, I'm not.
Why? Why does this stuff have to happen to me? Why can't I be normal like everyone else? Why won't everyone let it go and move on? Are they blind?
I closed my eyes in sadness. Sometimes I wonder...What's the point? What's the point in trying to convince everyone, that I'm not some evil dragoness. I'm not some servant to the Dark Master anymore.
So why can't everyone let it go?
I sighed and opened my eyes. Staring at the moonlight outside the big window. I could hear footsteps clacking on the stone floor and I turned to the noise. I grinned when I saw that it's Spyro who came home.
Spyro grinned back and said, "Hey there, beautiful, I thought you'd be sleeping."
I shook my head, "I just woke up. I couldn't sleep anymore."
Before Spyro could say anything, he started coughing and I said to him with concern, "You okay? Because this is the second time that you've coughed like that today. Come to think of it, you've been coughing like that for three days now."
Spyro shook his head and smiled, "I'm fine, you don't have to worry about it." I smiled back. Well, it's probably a small thing. No need to get worked up about it.
Spyro came up to the bed and laid down on his stomach beside me. He draped his wing over me, and lovingly nuzzled me, "Well you have left me since three hours ago, it's no wonder you couldn't sleep anymore."
I leaned my head into his shoulder and asked, "So, how did everything go? Did you have fun with Sparx and the others?"
He nodded, "It went great actually. There was a lot of food on the streets after all of us got off the wall together. I'm stuffed."
I giggled a it, "Well I wasn't in the mood for eating. Got to keep a good figure."
Spyro giggled and nuzzled my forehead, "Yeah, even I would be disappointed to be with someone who's fat."
I removed my head from his shoulder and frowned, "Really? You wouldn't like me when I'm fat?"
Spyro laughed and shook his head, "No, I would love you, no matter what."
I smiled at him, "That makes me feel better." A lot better actually. He'd better love me, even when I'm fat.
Which I don't plan on it!
Both of us were just like this still, his wing draped over my body, my head back to laying on his shoulder. We were just like this in silence. I sighed and Spyro turned his head a bit to peer at me, "You alright?"
I nodded and rose from his shoulder and said, "I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Then I turned my gaze to my left, not looking at him.
Spyro showed some concern and said, "Cynder, something's bothering you, what is it?"
I sighed and asked, "Why me?"
His eyes went wide, "What?"
I looked at him and asked again, "Why me? Why did all this stuff have to happen to me?"
Spyro shook his head, "I don't understand what you're talking about, Cynder."
I let out an angry huff, "Spyro, I'm so frustrated about...Everything. I mean, I've saved the world too and everyone still treats me differently than you. They still treat me like I'm still Malefor's servant and call me a monster, or Terror of The Skies." I shook my head in anger, "It's not fair! Why did all this stuff have to happen to me? What's the point?"
Spyro gave me a look of sympathy and said, "Cynder, we both know what happened before wasn't your fault. You were just being controlled by the Dark Master. You couldn't control yourself."
I slinked my way out of his wing and just sat down on my haunches in front of him, "But it still wasn't fair! Don't I have a right to live a normal life like everyone else?"
Spyro had a pity look for me and he got up on all fours and sat down next to me, "Cynder, listen, not everyone blames you for what happened. You know that."
I shut my eyes tight, "I know that not everyone treats me that way. You, Sparx, Flame, Ember, Hunter, Terrador, Volteer, and Cyril. Even...Ignitus didn't treat me that way."
Spyro gave me a kiss on the cheek and nuzzled me after that, "It's okay, Cynder. Everything's going to be okay."
I shook my head and sighed, "No, it won't."
Spyro pulled back and gave me a smile, "Sure it will. The war's over and everything's going to be fine from now on. Malefor's dead, he can't hurt anyone anymore."
I opened my eyes finally and narrowed them at him, "You don't get it. Even when the war's over, I still dream about it."
He cocked his head at me, "What do you mean?"
I said, "I mean...I still dream about all the bad things that I've done. All the blood, the screams, everything. I still remember the conversations that I've had with Gaul, the ape king, while I was corrupted. I still remember every word that monster said to me, giving me orders to free the Dark Master, all that." I shut my eyes tight again, "I still feel her as well. I can still feel the monster in me and I can't shake her."
He shook his head, "You'll never be her again. I will make sure of that."
I opened them with a sad and worried look, "But what if I suddenly turn back into her? What if I start to kill everyone again?" I shook my head, tears falling down my face, "I can't take it anymore, Spyro. Sometimes, I feel like I...Want to die. Just to keep everyone safe, from me."
Spyro's eyes went wide with shock and he shook his head again in disbelief, "Cynder...."
I went on, "I mean...Sometimes I think that it was my fault that Ignitus died. If I didn't release Malefor from that portal in Convexity, and if Malefor didn't try to destroy the world three years later, then Ignitus would still be alive right now."
He assured me, "You didn't kill Ignitus, Cynder. He sacrificed himself in that belt of fire to get us through it. He wanted us to succeed."
I let out an frustrated growl, tears still falling down my face. I started to sob, "But...But...Think about what if Spyro! What if my egg wasn't kidnapped back then? What if...I didn't become a monster at all? What if I've lived a normal life?" I shut my eyes tight, more tears falling down my cheeks, "But the past can't change. It's too late for all that. Ignitus is dead, and it's my...FAULT." I continued to cry in wracking sobs. My body and wings shaking hard.
I muttered softly under my breath, "I killed....Your father figure. You and him were close and I've killed him. I know what I said after we went through the belt of fire afterwards. That we have to go on. But...When I think about it now. Everything that happened before was my fault. Me kidnapping the Guardians to charge those crystals to release Malefor from his prison. If it wasn't for me, then Malefor wouldn't be here."
I sobbed loudly still and Spyro was just looking at me. Finally he formed words, "You're right, Cynder."
I looked at him, really puzzled at his words as he went on, "If it wasn't for you, then Malefor would've been in Convexity still. You would've lived a normal life, your egg wouldn't be kidnapped by the apes. If none of those things happened, then Malefor would be in his prison still and he'd not have tried to destroy the world."
I gazed down at my feet and then Spyro said, "But." I looked at him and he went on, "If those things NEVER happened, then we wouldn't have met. You wouldn't have tried to destroy me and I wouldn't have rescued you from his influence. The two of us wouldn't have been stuck together by that magic chain and we both would have never fought Malefor together."
My eyes went wide after he said all that and Spyro gave me a smile, "Cynder, I know you did a lot of terrible things, but if you weren't the General for Malefor's army, we wouldn't be together right now." He nodded to himself, "And quite frankly, I'm glad that I've met you, because there wouldn't be no other girl like you." Spyro leaned his head towards mine and we touched noses.
Spyro said while his nose is still pressed against mine, "Cynder...Ignitus didn't die because of you, Malefor was the cause of it and he paid for it. He paid for everything he has ever done." Spyro then nuzzled me and said, "I care about you, Cynder. I have since I rescued you."
I finally smiled at him when he pulled back and I said, "You really don't think that I'm...A monster?"
He shook his head, "The only thing I'm looking at, is you. Not a monster, only you." Then he asked, "Cynder, do you remember when I've used all my power to repair and save the world, at the moment when I did it? Do you remember those words you've whispered to me?"
I said those words to him with a whisper, "I love you." Then I broke down again and I wrapped my forearms around him, hugging him tight. I cried into his neck loudly. My wings drooped to my sides.
Spyro slowly wrapped his wings around me in his embrace and he nuzzled my head while I was crying. He said to me in a soothing voice, "I'm here, Cynder. I'm right here, don't cry."
We were both like this for a long time, until I finally stopped sobbing. I pulled my head from his neck and looked into his eyes, lovingly. I smiled at him and he smiled back.
Then I slowly pressed my lips to his and we kissed. Spyro tilted his head, deepening our kiss. Our tongues wrestling with each others.
He really is the one. He is the dragon for me.
We both pulled away from our kiss and I gave his nose a lick. I said, "Spyro...I want to be with you." I gave him a few kisses on his cheek, "Fully."
Spyro pulled his face away and beamed, "You mean?" Then he frowned, "Wait, aren't we a bit little to be parents? I don't think we could handle it."
I shook my head, "I wouldn't worry about it." I gave him a devious grin, "I'm not in heat, so there's nothing to worry about." I buried my face into his neck and gave his neck a lick, "Please Spyro, I want you. I want to be your mate."
He let out a shiver when I licked his neck and he nuzzled his head onto my forehead, "Yes."
Then me and Spyro started to kiss feverishly, he removed his wings off of me as we kissed. We shared another deep kiss when I started to move my body, until I was lying on my back on the bed. Spyro was on top of me, his paws placed at both sides of my head. He pulled his face away from mine and looked down at me. He grinned when I was below him and I grinned back. Then I raised my head to kiss him again.
Spyro moaned into my mouth and kissed back, our tongues having another match. We stopped after about ten seconds and we both looked at each other. My eyes trailed below his body and my eyes went wide when I saw his thing that's between his legs. His girth hard and ready. I muttered, not taking my eyes off of it, "Ancestors, it's big."
Spyro and I giggled after I said that. Then he lowered his head to my neck and start planting kisses on it. I sucked in a sharp breath when he was doing that. Spyro pulled up a bit and kissed me deeply once more. I wrapped my forearms around him, pulling him closer to me.
We both kissed and rolled around on the bed, until I was on top of him now. Both my paws planted firmly on his strong, handsome chest. Spryo breathed heavily with anticipation, and I looked down lovingly at him.
Spyro asked, "Are you sure about this?"
I nodded with no hesitation, "I'm sure."
He nodded back and he moved a bit under me, trying to get comfortable. I moved my hind end over his dragonhood, positioning my vent over it. I lowered my body onto it, until I could feel the tip of his cock at my opening. I pushed myself down a bit on it and it started to go in me.
I sucked in a breath and let out a small gasp, that thing's bigger than I thought. I lowered onto it a bit more, it's getting tighter in my tunnel. Spyro's face twisted in pain, as he entered in me.
My barrier hasn't been broken yet and I looked down at him for approval. He saw my expression and nodded. He wanted to help, so he moved one of his paws to my hind end. Ready for our union to come.
Spyro asked, "Ready?"
I nodded, pushing my paws into his chest hard, bracing myself. Then at the same time, I pushed myself onto Spyro's cock and Spyro's paw on my hind end pushed me down, breaking my barrier.
I cried out, our union completed, Spyro pulled his paw back to his chest. Pain shooting in my body. I started to tremble a bit, taking short trembling breaths. Both of us were just waiting for the pain to subside, waiting for our bodies to get accustomed to this.
Spyro licked my nose and I smiled when he did that. Finally after a minute I started to rise up over him, until the tip of his cock was almost near the entrance of my cavern. Then I slowly went down on him. I went up and then back down. Repeating the whole thing over and over again.
Spyro started to moan as my tunnel walls started to caress his cock inside me. My tunnel was getting slick now as I slowly mated him.
At first there was a bit of pain, then it was replaced by a whole different sensation and it feels great! My tunnel started to really take him now.
Spyro asked with a bit of a grunt, "Cynder...Can you go faster?"
I nodded and I lowered my head to his, whispering to him, "Get ready for the ride of your life."
Spyro's eyes went wide at my statement, "Ancestors, Cynder." Before he could say anything else, I began to ride on his dragonhood, faster than before. Spyro and I began to moan for our first mating together.
My pleasure became great, as I mated him faster with great stamina. My paws pushing on his chest with power. Spyro closed his eyes as pleasure took hold of him.
I panted on top of him, loving the feeling of this. I moaned for him, "Oh Spyro."
I continued to ride him, my cavern walls clenching on his girth. My wings flared a bit and my tail started twitching.
I bucked on him and Spyro said with a growl, "Cynder!"
I screamed to the ceiling, "Spyro!!"
I slammed onto him, pulling my hind end up and down on him at fast pace. Then an idea came and I slowed down and stopped altogether. Spyro opened his eyes and asked, "Cynder, why did you stop?"
I grinned seductively down at him, "I want this night to be special for both of us." Then I lowered my face down to his and planted a small kiss to his lips. I then, slowly pulled myself off of him, until his thing got out of my vent.
Spyro shivered under me, he didn't want it to end yet. I know the feeling. I got off of him and walked on the bed, until my back was turned to him. I looked over my shoulder as he still laid down on his back, looking at me.
I shook my hips at him, teasing him. Then I raised my tail high inviting him to be in me, and said, "Come on, Spyro. I need you."
Spyro grinned and he rolled off his back, until he stood on all fours. He walked up behind me and stared at my cavern hole.
As he stared, I begged, "Please Spyro, don't keep me waiting. Take me like this. I want you to give it to me."
Spyro didn't argue and said to me, "I will." Then he reared back on his hind legs and started to mount me. My tail moved out of the way for him, he put his weight on my back. Spyro got his head to the back of my neck and he nuzzled it.
I smiled and cooed at him, "Oh Spyro, you really are the best thing to me." Spyro pulled his head back and I said with determination, "Mate me Spyro. Make me yours."
Spyro nodded and he started to position his hips with mine and his cock at my opening, ready to take me again. He said to me before he put himself in me again, "I love you." Then he pushed himself inside me again, only this time my tunnel was still slick, it took him easily this time. We both moaned and he began to mate me slowly.
His dragonhood smoothly took me in my tunnel. Pulling out and pushing back in. Spyro sighed as my walls contracted his girth with pleasure.
I moaned and begged, "Spyro...HARDER."
Spyro wrapped his forearms under my body, both his paws on my underbelly. He pushed his weight onto my back and he mated me harder and faster. I cried out in pure bliss. My paws gripping the bedsheets as he mated me roughly.
Spyro pushed his hips into me hard, giving me what I want. He mated me with real vigor. He laid his head onto my back as he mated me hard.
I let out a cry as he put himself in me again and then I cried out real loud as he hit a sensitive spot in me, "Ancestors!" Then I started to buck back into his thrusts.
Sweat was dripping off of Spyro, but he never let up. He groaned when pushed and pulled again and again. His paws gripped me hard, his claws piercing my underbelly. His tail started to twitch and he flapped his wings in reflux.
He moaned loud to me, "Cynder! I love you!" He moaned again.
I screamed for him, "Spyro, give it to me! Claim me! Give me everything!" I shut my eyes tight as pleasure took hold and my tunnel walls were starting to tighten him again. My hind end was on fire now.
Spyro let out a growl and he lifted his head off my back. Without warning, he bared his teeth and dug his jaws into the back of my neck. Not hard enough to hurt me, but to add more pleasure. I let out a trembling moan when he did that. Ancestors, now that felt amazing.
Spyro kept giving me hard thrusts, as he still had his jaws on my neck. I groaned when he still kept driving his girth into me.
Then I could feel his cock twitching inside me. I have a feeling about it. He's almost done mating me.
He's going to claim me.
Suddenly, my whole body felt great and I screamed to the ceiling. My orgasm taking over me. I then went limp under Spyro, letting him have his way with me.
Spyro growled when I could feel his cock twitching furiously and his thrusts became hard and erratic. He's almost there.
I cried out to him, "SPYRO!!!"
His jaws let go of my neck and he screamed my name to the ancestors, "CYNDER!!!"
And with one final hard thrust, he pushed himself deep within me. We both cried out and he came in me. His essence coating my tunnel walls. I moaned with pure pleasure, my eyes looked up at the ceiling.
His seed came in fast torrents, going deep within me. Spyro groaned and kept pushing his hips in me. And he collapsed onto my back, his thing still cumming in me.
Both of us were panting real hard, and Spyro started licking the back of my neck in gratitude. I sighed happily. That was...Amazing! I muttered under my panting breath, "Ancestors."
His wave of cum slowed down to a trickle, until his girth couldn't give me anymore. Then everything stopped and all was quiet.
Spyro stopped licking and finally his thing that's between his legs popped out of me. Soon, I felt his weight was off of me now and he laid down beside me. His wing draping over me as he laid close to me.
My tail went over his, then it started to coil with his. Our tails are now together.
I finally stopped panting and I looked at Spyro, my eyes starting to feel tired.
Spyro smiled at me and I smiled back. He leaned his head toward and gave it a cheek. He didn't have to say anything to me. We both know what those words are.
Spyro laid his head close to mien and we both fell asleep. After our first mating, slumber has taken over us.
Thank you, Spyro. For being so kind, for being there for me, for everything. I could never find anyone else like you.
You believed in me, just like I would believe in you.
I love you.
*****
Five Months Later
I watched Spyro cough hoarsely in bed, my eyes filled with worry. I can't believe this is happening to him. Spyro who seemed strong and proud, is now sick and lying in bed. With that cough.
About two days ago while he and Sparx were wondering around in Warfang, Spyro suddenly collapsed to the ground and kept coughing. Sparx went to find Terrador and the other guardians and took him here.
Now it's been two days already, and he's still not getting any better. He's still sick.
And here I am, sitting on my haunches near the bed, watching over him. Ever since he laid around in bed, I never left his side hardly. If he's going to die, I won't leave him.
And I hope he doesn't die, I can't bear to lose him.
Please, Spyro, you were always strong, don't do this to me.
I knew that cough meant something bad, but you've told me that you were fine. But you aren't.
Spyro opened his eyes and while he was laying his head against a pillow, smiled at me, "Cynder."
I smiled back, "Hey there."
He gave me a concerned look, "What are you still doing here? You must be hungry right now, you better go eat."
I shook my head and I lowered my head to nuzzle him, "I won't leave you alone."
I heard Terrador coming up behind me when he entered the room and he said, "Cynder."
I looked over my shoulder and he said, "We need to talk."
My heart started to beat in fear. Oh no...I'm going to get the bad news. I looked at Spyro and said, "I'll be back in a minute." I whirled around and walked to Terrador. We both left the room so Spyro wouldn't hear us talking. As we went outside the room, I looked up at Terrador and said with a hopeful voice, "What is it, Terrador?"
Terrador sat down on his haunches and sighed, "Cynder....We don't know what kind of sickness he has. This is new to me and the others."
I cocked my head at him, "What are you saying? Are you saying that-"
Terrador had a sad look on his face and said, "We don't know how to help him. We just need to hope for the best and see he'll pull through it."
I glared at him, "Terrador, Spyro has been coughing for months and you're telling me there's nothing you can do for him?"
He didn't change his expression and my eyes went wide. Then my expression went to sadness and I hung my head low.
Terrador lowered his head to my level and nuzzled my back, "I'm sorry, young dragon." He raised his head and said, "If he starts to feel better, find me." Then he added, "And please get something to eat, you need your strength. You haven't ate anything much since-"
I muttered under my breath, "I don't need food."
Terrador sighed and nodded, "I won't force it. I'll leave you and Spyro be. I'll send Sparx here to see him, he's pretty distraught about Spyro."
I started to walk past him, saying, "Go ahead." I wandered back in the room and Spyro is still in bed, coughing.
I heard Terrador walking away and so now me and Spyro are alone. I sat down on my haunches near the bed and watched Spyro.
Spyro coughed again and asked, "So...What's going on?"
I closed my eyes and said in a very sad tone, "The Guardians can't help you. They don't know what kind of sickness you have."
Spyro sighed, "Well...At least they gave it a try."
I opened my eyes and asked him, "Why did all this have to happen to you?"
Spyro shook his head, "I don't know. Even I'm wondering."
I asked again, "So how are you feeling now?"
Spyro said, "My chest feels like it hurts, not to mention I feel weak. I don't think I've felt this tired before."
I trembled a bit, my sobs threatening to break through the walls in me. I shook my head at him, "Spyro, please...Don't talk like that. You're...You're strong."
Spyro reached out his paw to touch my cheek, "Don't cry, Cynder. You know I don't want to see you cry."
I leaned into his paw on my cheek, my tears are starting to fall, "This feels like it's my fault."
He shook his head and assured, "No it's not. THIS isn't your fault."
I asked with a sob, "Then whose fault is it?"
He said, "No one, I suppose." He pulled his paw back to his chest and coughed once more. It sounded worse than before.
I gave him a worried look, "Oh Spyro, this is horrible." I shut my eyes tight, I don't want to see this image.
Spyro said, "Cynder, look at me."
I didn't want to deny him, so I opened my eyes and looked at him. He said, "Cynder...Don't blame yourself for this."
I gave him a sad look, my tears still falling, "Spyro?"
"Just remember what I've told you before. You're not a monster and you'll never be that girl again. You can still live a happy life. You can find happiness still."
I asked, my head real close to his, "What are you saying?"
He coughed and muttered, "Cynder...I really don't feel good. And I....Feel strange too."
I shook my head, not wanting this to happen, "No! Don't do this, Spyro! We're mates and we have been for months! I've lost Ignitus, I can't lose you too!" I begged with a loud sob, "Please, don't leave me!"
Spyro actually smiled at me, "I know you're better than that. Despite what you think, you're stronger than you think."
I shook my head in disagreement, "No I'm not."
He assured, "Yes you are. I know you. Despite what you've done before, you never let the past destroy you. Even when Malefor tried to control you again, you still overcame the darkness and came back to me. Even when I didn't want to fight back."
I sobbed in front of him, "I did come back to you. You said that I've left you with nothing to fight for, but there was always something to fight for and it was me." I shook my head at him, "There's always something, Spyro. And for me, please fight for me. Fight this."
He shook his head and coughed again, "I can't, Cynder. This is a fight I can't win."
My eyes went wide in disbelief and only muttered, "...No...."
He said, "Cynder, please...Do this one thing for me." I stared at him and he went on, "Don't forget your life. Don't forget to live. You can still do this...Without me." He sighed and said, "At least...I might see Ignitus and my real family."
I nuzzled his head before he could say anything else, "I'll never forgive myself if you die now. It'll be my fault."
He nuzzled back and said, "No, it's not, Cynder. And...Everything's going to be ok."
I said while I was nuzzling him with a sob, "No...It won't."
He pulled back a bit and gave me an reassuring smile, "It will. I promise it will." Spyro then said, "I'll never forget you, Cynder. And one last thing....Look after Sparx for me. He wouldn't mind having you around him."
I cried to him, "You'll live, you stubborn purple brat! You'll live." I shook my head at him, "I'll never find someone who is like you. Not ever....EVER." I sobbed once more.
Spyro then planted his mouth to mine and we kissed. I let go of my sadness and kissed back. Finally he pulled back and laid down on the bed. He said to me, "I love you, Cynder. And don't let go of your life."
I stared at him for another moment and finally I said to him, "I won't let it go. For you. I'll never let go of my life....And...I love you too."
Spyro nodded and smiled, "Good." Then he started to tremble a bit in bed, sucked in a sharp breath and then he closed his eyes. He laid his head on the pillow..
He lay motionless on the bed.
I gave a concern look and said, "Spyro?"
He didn't say anything or move. He was quiet.
I gasped and then I tried to nuzzled him awake, "Spyro, Spyro wake up!" I stopped nuzzling him and just stared at him in shock and disbelief, "Spyro?"
He still didn't do anything.
And finally I came with the conclusion that...He's gone.
I muttered sadly with a sob, "No.....No....No." Then I finally broke down and laid my head on top of his sobbing on him while I was still sitting near the bed.
My body was wracking with sobs. I cried on his scales.
Spyro....
I can't believe it.
You were the only one that I would cry to and now...You're gone.
I'll try not to let my life go. I'll make this promise to you.
But I wish you didn't leave me!
I want you...I want you to come back!
*****
Several Months Later
I flew over the river over the land of Avalar. Flapping my wings real hard.
It has already been a bit over a year since Malefor and the war has been over and it has been several months since Spyro...Died.
I sighed as I flew. Honestly...I still think about him everyday. It's not easy to let him go. What's worse is that I began to wonder if it was my fault that he died. He did say it wasn't, but why can't I shake the feeling?
My sorrow for him wasn't as bad before, but it's still there and I try my best to move on from him. Even try to talk to Sparx and everyone else that I know, just to keep my thoughts off of him.
But today, I wanted to get away from everything and it's a sunny day in Avalar. Sunny as usual.
Me and Spyro always flew over Avalar whenever we had the chance. Just the two of us, taking to the skies together.
But now...It's just me alone up here now.
I need to quit thinking about him, I have to try harder. As I flew I saw something walking beside the river. It looked like it was on two legs.
I frowned as I flew over it. Is that Hunter, walking near the river?
The figure looked...Different. Different than a cheetah.
I need to check it out.
I flew back to the figure, flew over it and I glided down to the ground. I landed and on the ground I whirled around to face the two legged figure.
The figure screamed when he saw the sight of me. He screamed, "Ah, don't kill me!" He shielded his face with his arms. Like he was defending himself.
I frowned at him. That's strange, he really isn't a cheetah after all. He's definitely some guy, but what is he?
And where did he come from?
I walked a bit toward him, taking slow nervous steps. The strange figure was trembling to death in fear. What's up with him? Hasn't he seen a dragon before? He wears clothes just like a cheetah would, but those clothes are different. I stopped walking and said out loud to the weird two legged figure, "Hey."
The figure removed his arms from his face and he stared at me. All shocked and what not, "You...You can talk."
I narrowed my eyes at him, "Of course I can talk! Haven't you even met a dragon before?"
He still stared at me with very wide eyes, "A...A dragon? That's not possible."
I exclaimed, "Hey since you're the strange one here, I'm asking the questions. Now first one...What are you?"
He answered my question with a question, "You're not going to kill me, are you?"
I glared at him and I crouched low to the ground, getting ready to attack him. His eyes bulged out of his skull and he held his hands out to calm me down, "Alright, alright! I'm a human! Alright? I'm a human!"
I cocked my head at him and stood straight back up, "A...Human? I've never heard of a human before."
The...Human boy said when he gestured his hand toward me, "Well I thought dragons don't exist. This is...Pretty new to me as well."
I asked, "You thought dragons never existed? That's...Pretty odd, if you ask me." I took a small step to him and he looked down at me with fear. I huffed in annoyance, "Relax, I'm not going to kill you. Just...Don't give me a reason to fight you, okay?" He nodded and I asked him another question, "Alright...Now who are you and what are you doing in Avalar?"
He frowned at me, "Avalar?"
I asked, "You never heard of Avalar?" The human shook his head and then I frowned and asked, "....Alright, now what's your name?"
The human let out a breath and he put a hand to his chest, "Tim."
I nodded, "Alright...Tim. Now why are you here? And where did you come from?"
He shrugged and shook his head, "I'm trying to find a way for me to get back home, I guess. I'm pretty lost."
"Lost? Then where did you come from? How did you get here?"
He shrugged again and put some thought into it, "Well...I wandered in a cave from where I'm from. Then a light came and suddenly I ended up here. Ever since then, I've been wandering around in this land for a long time. Trying to holler for help. That's...When you found me." Then Tim giggled when he looked at me, "You look pretty small for a dragon, are all dragons small as you?"
I glared at him, "No, ancestors, no we are not. There are big dragons as well, you strange...Creature."
Tim waved me off with his hand and said, "Whatever, but I really need to get home. Do you know the right way?"
I shook my head at him, "Tim, I don't know where you belong. I've never even heard of you. Or...Human in fact."
He only muttered, "Oh." And he took his gaze to the ground in sadness.
I actually felt pity for him and thanks to my good nature, I wanted to help him. I said, "Look...Maybe I can help you. Actually, maybe the Guardians can help you."
He frowned and asked, "Guardians?" Then he said, "Wait...You won't hurt me will you? Not even...The other dragons?"
I shook my head at Tim, "No I won't. You don't seem to be...Threatening to me and the land. You don't seem to be...Evil." I can pretty much tell what he is and I can feel that he's not evil.
He smiled at me for the first time since this conversation started, "You don't seem bad yourself."
I grinned back at him, "Really?" Then I looked shyly at the ground, "Thank you." I shook my head and looked at him, "Look Tim, I can take you to Warfang, the dragon city. I'll take you to the Gurdians, they can help you out."
Tim's eyes went wide, "Dragon city? Wait, you haven't answered my question whether the other dragons would hurt me or not. Would they?"
I shook my head, "I'm sure they won't hurt you. Usually dragons welcome travelers, so I wouldn't worry about it."
Tim walked toward me and he crouched down in front of me, "Can I touch you?"
I hesitated to answer at first, then I just nodded. Tim reached his hand out to my neck, rubbing it.
His touch, it feels good. Then I freaked out a bit and backed away from him, "Whoah, hold on weirdo. Getting a little touchy right now."
He gave me an apologetic look, "Sorry about that. It's just...I haven't met a dragon before."
I shook my head, "It's alright, I just don't know you that much."
Tim nodded in agreement, "I don't know you that much either." Then he grinned at me. Tim then stood straight up, his body over mine. He asked, "So, where's the dragon city?"
I nodded, "It's south of us. Since you don't have wings and can't fly, we're walking to the city."
Tim nodded and started to walk past me, "Right. Sounds good to me." Then he stopped in his tracks and frowned at me, "What's your name, miss?"
I smiled at him, "Cynder. My name's Cynder."
Tim said, "Cynder, huh? What a name."
I giggled after he said that and I started to walk past him, leading the way, "Yeah I know, what a name I have. Come on weirdo, lets head to Warfang."
Tim laughed and walked beside me. He said, "Hey when we're walking, maybe we'll get to know each other while we're at it."
I looked at him while we were walking and said, "Probably a good idea. It's a long walk back to Warfang anyways."
Tim exclaimed, "Sounds good to me!" And we've kept on walking after that. Walking on the side of the river, on our way to Warfang.
I thought about him as we walked. He seems...Different than everything else.
I smiled as we walked. Honestly...Tim is the most exciting thing since Spyro died.
I know that I don't know him that well, but...Maybe he'll take my mind off of Spyro for a while.
I better get to know him first and right now since we're walking together, now is my chance.
