It had been three years since InGen's dinosaurs escaped into the wilds. Since then at least seventeen different species of dinosaurs were currently roaming free throughout the world, some reproducing at an alarming rate. World governments were locked in United Nations talks about the rights of these genetically created endangered species, but the facts were obvious. These dinosaurs were finding their niche in a very human world, creating a coexistence between dinosaur, human, furry, and dragon that had never existed before.
Humans and furries seemed to be getting the worst of the dinosaur's voracious appetites. Every week there was a new story about a family of foxes camping in the Colorado wilderness being attacked, or a human biker getting run down by a pack of raptors in Nevada. Everyone was on edge, gun sales were up, and no one really knew what to do.
Dragons were not the natural and easy prey that two leggers were, and the dragons as a species were more likely than average to empathize with the new struggle for survival everyone seemed to be unwillingly entered into. Flying had become more treacherous with hungry packs pterodactyls roaming the skies, and raptors could tear a dragon's wing membrane like a piece of paper. And yet dragons themselves were rare creatures of myth and legend, nearly hunted to extinction, and most felt a begrudging duty to help protect the new species sharing their world.
In a world like this, no one had really given much thought about any other potentials for the dinosaurs except their capacity as a threat. And only a crazy person would've been concerned with their reproduction habits and capacities, their interests, and their preferences. Aarak was just that sort of crazy person. Or rather, crazy dragon.
Aarak's sky-blue scales shimmered against an angry sun. This summer was hot, just like the summer before last, and the summer before that. Aarak couldn't remember any summer in the valley that could have been considered normal for years. Aarak's draconian body was adapted to the heat, with large wings to radiate away extra warmth and silver-belly scales to protect him against a hot, scorched earth.
Dinosaurs liked the heat. This was their ideal environment. The central valley provided a large open expanse to hide in amongst the almond trees and orange groves. A well-known raptor pack had been harrowing farmers and two-leggers here for years, and Aarak had been studying their habits, their attacks, and their eggs.
Aarak dipped his wing, turning into a tight circle to land on the outskirts of a small farm near Fresno. This wasn't a usual call. A usual call would've been dead sheep, a cow missing, a few angry calls for exterminating the genetically engineered endangered species. Nope. This call was about eggs.
His wings flapped hard, stirring up great bouts of dust as an anthro-ram coughed and waved his straw hat in front of his face.
"Sorry," Aarak said. He tended to apologize a lot.
The ram shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Daryl." The ram gave a little bow. It was always funny seeing what greeting gestures two-leggers came up with for their dragon brethren. "Aarak, I assume."
"Yeah, pleasure." Aarak dipped his head to Daryl's height to be polite. "I got your call. I don't get many calls. We still don't know a lot about how they're reproducing out here. Can you show me what you found?"
"Of course, that's why I called ya, innit? Follow me." He walked off at a brisk pace towards a hedge row at the edge of his property.
Aarak walked slowly to make sure he didn't overtake him, his long dragon legs as tall as the ram. He didn't seem to be the conversational sort so Aarak followed in silence. They walked down along a fallow field, an all-too-common sight nowadays. They needed rain. They always needed rain.
"Down there," Daryl said with a jerk of his head. "Big nest, like yer interested in. Some broken eggs too. If ya need me I'll be at the house, if ya don't," he shrugged and waved, walking back towards his home.
"Thank you," Aarak said to his back as he walked away. Maybe he was busy. Aarak returned his attention to the nest.
Raptor, for sure. Some would say velociraptor like InGen's reports, the more scientific community would say Utahraptor, but the truth was these raptors were their own breed. All of the dinosaurs were. None of the dinosaurs currently living and populating the earth were direct copies of themselves from 65 million years ago. For one thing, oxygen levels had changed quite a bit. For another, gaps in the genome had been filled in using DNA from the modern era from similar species, resulting in a new species entirely distinct from any fossils.
The large nest indicated this was the dominant pack of the valley, the one led by Blue. Aarak was familiar with Blue only by photographs from camera traps. A hyper intelligent raptor that had previously been the subject of InGen's military research, she now evaded capture with ease, almost taunting the scientists and military sent for her. And this was definitely one of her nests.
The eggs were piled into the center within a sandy pit. A few of them had broken open with indications of little raptor feet that followed, while larger raptor talons scraped at the edges of the circle. It's possible the parents had been present for the hatching. But too few of the eggs had hatched. A majority of them sat still and unhatched, dead, unfertilized. The raptors were having trouble finding suitable genetic material.
Aarak reached down and picked up one of the unfertilized eggs, imagining the genetic frustration that would go into creating and laying an egg that didn't carry your progeny. Surely no dinosaur understood that frustration on a mental level, but perhaps on an instinctual one, it was probable. They'd be looking for new mates. New packs.
Over the next hour Aarak photographed, catalogued, and took notes of the site. Every egg, broken or unbroken, was noted and photographed. He took weights, measurements, and guesses about the sort of timing. These were old. Aarak did some mental math. Their understanding of reproduction habits of the raptors was relatively poor, but judging by the age of these eggs these were probably their clutch from the previous season. They'd be looking to breed again soon, and probably within the same area. Aarak stirred, his tail making long, sweeping motions as he thought about that. On one claw, they were beautiful creatures, worthy of life. They deserved to roam free amongst the streams and mountains as much as any other creature did. On the other, Daryl didn't deserve to have his livelihood or the personal safety of his family threatened. Aarak had an idea of what a solution could be, but it'd be dangerous. The risk your life sort of dangerous.
Aarak yawned and stretched like an overgrown cat, his front paws digging into the dirt with his hips raised in the air, tail flicking out behind him like a whip. Aarak glanced at the height of sun. It was getting late. He had planned on going home tonight, back to his house and his computer and to a shower before settling in on his crazy idea. But it was getting late, and there was a lake nearby he could bathe in. Graciously the fires had been missing from this year so far, so the air was clean and warm and a night outside sounded nice. If not now, then when? This may be the closest chance he had to find the pack. Aarak lept into the air, flying away from his home.
"Hey, Sinaal," Aarak called his mate from his phone while eating takeout. A nice thai place Aarak didn't have the opportunity to visit very often. "Found some more eggs down here. Going to spend the night and maybe take another look at it in the morning. Love you, I'll be home tomorrow probably." Aarak finished the voicemail. It wasn't unusual that Sinaal wouldn't pick up, as late as he worked.
Aarak finished his dinner quickly, wanting to get to his sleeping spot before dark. He knew the place well. Whenever he felt like getting away from the city this was his go-to location on the shores of Millerton Lake. Officially you needed a camping permit, unofficially if you flew in and didn't stay in a developed spot you could do whatever you wanted.
The sunset wasn't that great tonight. Misty clouds obscured most of the sky, preventing the golden hues from penetrating the grey dusk. Oh well. Darkness fell rapidly, and without a fire Aarak had little to do but sleep. He set his travel bags aside against a tree, drank from the lake, and found his preferred spot amongst the soft sand. Curling up in a semi-circle he fell asleep with his head resting on his tail, dreaming odd dreams of eggs flying through the air.

A guttural growl awoke Aarak from his sleep. The clouds had lifted and a near full moon lit the clearing, bathing it in wisps of silver light. Aarak knew the sound of a raptor by heart. He knew if they had wanted him dead, they wouldn't have waited for him to wake up.
He stirred, trying to act more calmly than he felt. His heart felt like it would pound right out of his silver chest as he looked around, catching glints of reflective eyes in a semi-circle around him. Oh moons, this was bad. He should've at least set up a perimeter fence. Truly he hadn't really expected his plan to work, and yet, here they were.
"Hello there," he said, not unkindly. They were far enough way that he had a good chance of getting into the air before they attacked. Still, something in the way the beasts were watching him told him they weren't here to kill. He had taken some of their eggs, and now they were here to find out why.
"I'm sorry, they weren't fertilized, I think. You can have them." They wouldn't understand him, but it felt better to say some things out loud. "I took them because I wanted to find you, to help keep you safe. Is Blue with you? You have a lot of people looking for you, you know."
Aarak scanned the clearing but couldn't find any trace of the raptor known as Blue. Still, it was pretty dark, and his eyes hadn't fully adjusted to the moonlight yet. Hmm. If they didn't understand words - because of course they wouldn't - they'd understand body language.
Standing on four paws with your wings at your sides pretty much said 'hey, I'm here, this is my space, I'm not going anywhere.' It didn't necessarily mean fight, but it wasn't very welcoming either. Aarak had a decision to make. It was time to flap his wings and get the heck out of here - the sensible decision - or time to do something really stupid, all in the name of some half-assed idea of helping creatures that'd tear out his throat if they felt like it.
Aarak slowly moved his body back to the ground, laying on his side. There. Showing your belly was the universal signal for 'you win, what next?'
A chorus of trills and chirps sounded through the night. Aarak shivered. They were communicating. Yes, he had taken their eggs, and now he was here, showing his belly. I'm your friend, he thought intensely. Friend. I want to help you!
A new raptor stepped into the moonlight from behind the shadows. Aarak sucked in air through his teeth. That was definitely Blue. She looked every bit as intelligent as the rumors claimed, with sharp eyes taking in every detail. She hunched forward, her leg muscles rippling with every twitch. Her razor sharp claws glinted in the night like daggers. Aarak's hide wouldn't have been the first hide she'd sheared. Blue's own hide was clean, free of the dirt and grime Aarak would've expected a creature living in the wilds would have, showing off her tell-tale blue streak from snout to tail.
"Hello, Blue," Aarak said, resorting back to verbal communication. Old habits died hard.
Blue's head tilted at the sound of her name. "Yes. I know who you are. And I want to help you." Aarak spread his paws out in a non-aggressive, welcoming manner. "You're being hunted, as I'm sure you know. It isn't safe here." Aarak slowly opened his pack, using exaggerated motions as some of the other raptors hissed! at the motion, their mouths snarling at the sound. Aarak ignored them, keeping his eyes on Blue. They'd follow their leader, and if Blue didn't attack, he was fine. For now.
Aarak pulled out a sweater he saved for uncharacteristically cool nights and set it down on the ground in-between them. Aarak knew his scent was all over it. Blue leaned down to sniff at it, her nostrils flaring. "No, not food," Aarak said. "Safety. Find me, later."
A sharp snap! of a twig sent every raptor head staring off in the direction of the noise, towards the main road. Blue looked at Aarak, then back to the noise, letting off a short trill before leaping back into the bush, her legs pounding like pistons into the earth.
"Shit! Shit shit shit," human voices called out. "Did you hear that? What was that?" Flashlights blazed through the bushes, falling upon Aarak.
Aarak held his wings up. "I know I don't have a camping permit, but is this really necessary?" Aarak asked, blinking into the glare of the flashlights.
"Oh, no. Sorry. Hell, we didn't even know you were here. We thought - well hell, we thought there were raptors." The man chuckled. "I'm Ben, this is my son Joe, and that there's also Joe, but he's not my son. We were camping when we heard some shit and, well we grabbed our guns and came runnin'. You know how it is."
Human names were so weird, Aarak thought. "I do know how it is," Aarak responded, gathering up his sweater. "I'm sorry to disturb you. Dragons can make odd noises to human ears in their sleep."
Ben rubbed his stubby jaw, his flashlight still scanning the bushes. "Mmm." Aarak turned around, his tail sweeping against the ground to rid the sand of any tracks in the immediate clearing.
"Mmhm," Aarak responded. "I was just resting during a long flight. Ben, Joe, and Joe," Aarak nodded at them each in turn, "Have a pleasant evening." He gave them a half-wave with a wing and launched himself into the air, unwilling to talk to them anymore.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Six nights and a single difficult conversation with his mate, Sinaal, and Aarak was camping in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains near an old burned area. It was the sort of place people avoided, full of beauty charred and ruined by fire. In a few years it'd be green and lush again, but right now it only reminded people of devastation and loss. No camping permit required. Hell, there were no people for miles.
Aarak stirred his soup over the fire with an idle tail, thinking. He hoped he hadn't gone too far, but it was necessary to lead the raptor pack in the right direction. They had to get out of California. Over the mountains and through the burned gorge was the best way into Nevada, and from there, space and freedom. He just had to lead them there. There were rumors of a Nevada pack of raptors, separate from Blue's. Aarak hoped they'd get some eggs made, real, fertilized eggs, not the ones that were as lifeless as this forest. Nevada was also less populated than California and would provide ample land to roam, breed, and hunt something other than two-leggers.
Aarak's ears flicked towards the direction of the valley. A distant sound like the rumbling of subdued thunder was coming this way, but the sky was clear. Aarak looked up at his sweater hanging from the tree and at the wind blowing towards the direction of the noise, and smiled. Some crazy ideas were worth trying.
In a few minutes Aarak was once again surrounded by the pack, this time in the dusk of twilight instead of darkness. Twenty-three raptors, by Aarak's count. She whistled. Most of them were small, still growing, with pearl white teeth and eyes full of hunger. They kept looking between Aarak and Blue, asking. Is this food? Big food? Aarak hoped Blue wouldn't change her answer.
"Hey girl," Aarak said, assuming that same position of vulnerability as he had the first night. "It's me - oh." Blue stepped forward to sniff at Aarak's outstretched paw. Her hot breath against his pawpad made him flinch. "Not food, not food, just someone trying to help..."
Blue continued on as if she hadn't heard him, which was about right, all things considered. Evolution, or at least the evolutionary traits part of the raptor genetics used to create Blue, would've given her brain prioritization for smell over auditory signals. She hunted with her nose, and that's what Aarak had counted on with his sweater. Hopefully.
The raptor's snout continued undeterred past Aarak's paw and down his leg towards his crotch. Aarak held still, thinking this was probably some sort of initiation or introductory raptor behavior. It wasn't uncommon for animals to sniff each other's genitals as a way of greeting. Aarak's own genitalia wasn't so different than a raptor's, a male genital slit hiding his shaft and a smaller slit below that at his tail-crease for his tailhole. A lot of two-leggers had trouble differentiating between dragon sexes, relying on secondary characteristics such as voice and accessories. Since dragons tended to walk around naked everywhere, confusion with pronouns wasn't exactly uncommon.
"H-hey," Aarak said as Blue's snout didn't move away from his crotch after her initial whuff of curiosity. Instead of moving on like Aarak had expected, Blue was now acting very interested in the space between Aarak's hind legs. "I think that's enough of that," Aarak said, moving his other leg to close the area off to Blue's prying noise.
The raptor turned her face toward's Aarak snout and snarled, baring her teeth. One of her legs stepped up onto Aarak's tail, holding him there and also giving Aarak a good look at the raptor's lethal dewclaw. Aarak knew that claw could slice him open at the slightest provocation. Aarak gulped.
"Okay, easy girl. I'm not trying to hurt you. I was just a bit embarrassed." Aarak talked to her in a calming voice, trying to diffuse the awkward situation. Aarak moved his leg back to the side, exposing his crotch for the curious raptor once more.
Blue snorted, her outstretched forearms returning to relax at her side. She turned her muzzle back towards Aarak's genital slit. Her nose pushed against Aarak's soft scales without any hesitation, nostrils flaring as she whuffed against his genital slit.
Aarak's muscles tensed, unsure where this was heading. Blue had made it clear that she expected complete compliance in this inspection, but while Aarak had been accepting of a general inquisitive greeting, this was very quickly turning into something a bit more personal.
"Eep!" Aarak squeaked as he felt a hot, warm tongue against his genital slit. Blue's snout pushed rudely against his male-slit, her tongue flicking out to push inside him. The raptor's tongue was thick and hot, the rude intrusion catching Aarak completely by surprise. "That's not... uhm..."
Whatever Aarak was going to say next was cut off by the raptor's tongue finding Aarak's tapered cock tip, which had been until this moment quite safe and ignored for the past week. Having a raptor's tongue slurp against his soft, sensitive flesh was not what he had been expecting this morning! Regardless of expectations, that's exactly what was happening. Aarak was splayed on his back, hind legs spread, with the deadliest raptor in the world pressing her tongue against his soft shaft. Aarak moaned, pressing his hips up involuntarily towards the pleasant sensation, his cock hardening rapidly. Within moments his pink shaft speckled with blue had parted his male slit and pushed into the evening air, right in front of a genetically engineered pre-historic and quite dangerous raptor's snout.
Blue didn't seem surprised by this turn of events. She snorted, withdrawing her tongue from Aarak's slit with a lewd slurp! and wrapping it around the base of Aarak's shaft, squeezing around the hot flesh with her apparently prehensile tongue.
"Oh fuck," Aarak said, as his brain caught up with the situation. These raptors had laid unfertilized eggs last year and their breeding season was right around the corner. Or today, it seemed. And Blue had found some potentially new and compliant genetic material. "I don't think this will work, Blue..."
Blue ignored him and continued up his length, her hot tongue lapping against the underside of Aarak's shaft. Aarak's cock twitched in the air, needy, as Aarak was unable to fully control his male body. He had never really thought of a raptor as attractive per se, but they certainly weren't... unattractive. Blue's muzzle bobbed between Aarak's legs as she worked that wet appendage up Aarak's shaft to his tip, pausing there to open her maw wide and take his cock tip inside of her deadly maw. Aarak squeaked with concern.
The long, slender muzzle of the raptor easily enveloped Aarak's length, and any nervousness Aarak had about teeth were unfounded. Aarak gazed down his silver plated belly in a stunned state of arousal as the raptor worked between his legs. The only thing he felt was a hot warm space intent on pleasing him.
He started pushing his hips up and into her maw in time with her bobbing head, enjoying the way her snout tip pressing into his groin when he hilted fully within her muzzle. Part of Aarak's mind wandered, wondering just how oral sex had made its way into a feral raptor's repertoire. This wouldn't create eggs, but it sure did feel amazing.
Aarak's tail swished slowly before curling in on itself, pressing upwards between the raptor's legs. He found what he was looking for easily, Blue's wet slit dimpling inwards against the pressure of Aarak's tail. Blue growled and bent forward, simultaneously pushing her muzzle further down towards Aarak's crotch and lifting her tail, giving Aarak better access to the raptor's slit.
Aarak leaned his head back and let out a slow exhale, figuring if things had gone this far, he wasn't going to be in any position to say no to what Blue wanted anytime soon. He pulled his tail back, letting his tail tip find the slick orifice between Blue's legs. He paused at her entrance, his sensitive tail tip noting exactly where the overlapping scales faded into warm flesh. His tail teased her, hovering there at her entrance, eliciting a throaty warning growl from the raptor. Aarak grinned. He had what she wanted; she wouldn't hurt him. His tail pushed inwards, her tight warmth enveloping his tail tip. Aarak withdrew his tail and then pushed again, gently, letting her wetness slicken his tail before pushing into her, giving her body time to adjust to the intrusion.
The motion along Aarak's cock paused as Blue's tongue stayed wrapped around Aarak's cock base, her attention now elsewhere. Her eyes went half-lidded as Aarak moved his tail tip gently in and out of Blue's slit, filling the air with lewd squelches. The noise elicited a chittering of approval from the onlookers. Aarak had almost forgotten they had an audience.
With a growl Blue suddenly backed her muzzle off of Aarak's cock and stepped forward. Aarak's tail withdrew from her slit with a slurp. Her snout leaned forward to _hiss_near his face as she stepped her hind legs over him, aligning her upraised tail with Aarak's erection. Aarak gulped. Her small front arms rested against his silver chest, her claws digging into him. Her hips lowered, slowly... and missed, Aarak's cock sliding against her and smearing pre-cum up and inside the space where tailbase meets hip. Blue raised her hips and tried again, realigning. This time their flesh connected, Aarak's tapered tip pressing upwards against Blue's hot, dimpled scales. Blue let out a low, guttural sound, like she was very pleased with herself, and let the weight of her hips sink back towards the earth.
Aarak held very still, letting the raptor take complete control. The inside of the raptor's body was full of an intense, overwhelming heat that radiated outwards and sucked him in, enveloping his length with the primal need to breed. A moan escaped Aarak's muzzle as Blue sat her haunches down with a squelch, his cock hilting within her as their slits met with a lewd smack of one feral body atop another. Aarak's hind paws twitched as he struggled not to spill his seed prematurely. She was so damn tight, her powerful hip muscles made for running down prey now pinning down a different sort of prey.
Her hips raised up, sliding her reptilian slit along Aarak's length. Her lips gripped him tightly, suckling and tugging, like her body didn't want to let him go. She got halfway up his length before pushing down again with another lewd smack, her powerful tail lashing behind her.
"Oh gods, Blue..." Aarak moaned, pushing his hips up into the feral raptor. All he got in response was another growl and repetition of the motion, faster this time as she leaned forward, her front claws pushing against Aarak's chest while her sex slid up and down his length. Her slit squeezed and rippled around him, pulsing with her heartbeat. Aarak's front paws move down her body, feeling her sides and her smooth, warm scales. He squeezed her sides, letting her hips stay in control of their mating while he appreciated the way her body moved, the way her tail plapped against his when she pushed against his groin.
Blue was in total control, the rhythm of their mating determined entirely by the lusty dinosaur. Aarak was merely along for the ride, an instrument of her pleasure and her feral need to reproduce. She'd pause when she wanted to, grinding their slits together in a lewd wet mix of pre-cum and vaginal arousal, her internal muscles squeezing and rippling around his shaft. Then she'd move her hips again, raising her tail before pounding back down onto him, stroking along his hard length.
Aarak's hindpaws dug into the ground, his toes clenching as a tingling warmth spread throughout his body from tail to snout until he couldn't hold it in any more. "Blue," Aarak moaned, his paws squeezing her sides as his cock pushed upwards, a rope of thick dragon seed splurting into the raptor.
Blue's body responded instinctively, her internal muscles squeezing and rippling around him as her own orgasm came fast and fierce, suckling his cock into her body. Her intense tightness squeezed out spurt after spurt of hot dragon cum, splashing against her cervix and overfilling her womb until it dribbled back out, coating Aarak's cock with a mixture of her wetness and his seed. Blue snarled in a self-satisfied way, her hips resting upon Aarak's groin as Aarak's orgasm slowly tapered off. Blue refused to move, milking him for every potent drop.
She waited there for several minutes until Aarak could feel himself unwillingly begin to soften, his tip retreating back into his slit. Blue stood up with a snort, a cum-string briefly connecting their slits as she pushed off of him. Aarak could see his seed oozing slowly from her well-bred slit, dripping slowly onto the ground as she faced away from him and towards her pack.
Aarak sighed and leaned his head back against the ground, tired and exhausted. What would come next? Hopefully not a meal. He turned his head as he heard the sound of another raptor stepping forward, this one an emerald color with a brownish hue along her back. Uh oh. The green raptor approached, sniffing at Aarak's wet crotch while Blue watched, waiting, chittering to her pack. This was going to be a long night.
*~*~*~*~*~*
The waning moon provided enough light filtering through the trees to illuminate unique scene. A silver and blue dragon lay in the clearing, clearly exhausted. His tongue lolled to one side, his eyes half lidded, muzzle agape. The muscles in his hind leg twitched sporadically.
Between those legs a feral raptor rode atop him, her body moving purposefully atop his crotch. Lewd, wet grunts and smacks of scale against scale filled the night air. A whimper escaped the dragon's muzzle as his tail twitched upwards, once, twice, and that was it, before falling back to ground. The raptor huffed and paused, grinding her hips against him, clearly dissatisfied. She snarled and growled, his front claws pushing and grinding against his chest as her slit squeezed around him, wanting more. The dragon whined, but was no match for the raptor's desire. After several minutes it was clear that raptor had gotten what she wanted. She growled with satisfaction, her hips rising and falling as she resumed her lovemaking.
Around them a dozen raptors sprawled on the ground, content, either sleeping or watching the scene with curiosity. Pearlescent white fluid dripped from their slits, temporarily staining their scales white. Several more raptors stood on their legs, anxious. They prowled and snarled in circles, snapping at one another. When they turned at the right angle it was clear their slits hadn't yet been touched, unfertilized, the needy raptors at the bottom of the societal order waiting for their turn. They'd get what they wanted, no matter how long it took.
