Basic 'ness: Part 6 (Finale)
I know I left you all on a cliff hanger with part 5, but part 6 continues right from where we left off.
The beginning is a bit hard to read, (it was hard to write too), so if you want to crtl+F "Her deranged smile" you will skip the scary bits.
This will be the finale of this series, however a saucy epilogue will come next.
NutRaisins helped a lot and really helped make the shower scene pop, even though it was a hard read. (https://nutraisins.sofurry.com/))
Jeenik made sure to use his tail to soften the door closing to the showers, the sound of the latch clicking was almost inaudible over the sounds of rushing water. His green body prowled silently towards Taalli, making sure to not splash his steps in the water that had formed on the ground. Cautious of the large mirror that ran one length of the room, he continued to circle the vulnerable orange ness. His eyes glanced over to the long sturdy shower hoses that were attached below the shower heads. Nothing more than old shortened fire hoses, the few yards of rubber hose were helpful for washing the hard to reach places and for flushing out evidence.
While his eyes and cheeks stung, the countless paintball rounds that had impacted against his scales had hurt his pride more than anything else. The dragoness ahead of him who would always manage to get the whole flight punished for her wrong doing, but was now blissfully unaware of his presence. A sinister smirk pulled at his snout as he looked over her glistening form, her paws running soap over her tender neck, the neck he planned to hold in his jaws before the shower was over. His loins tingled as he looked over her toned athletic build, her muscles were starting to become defined, but paled in comparison to the body of a drake in his prime.
His top lip pulled back into a silent snarl, because of her, the flight had their porn magazines destroyed, because of her, they were sent on pointless exercises, because of her, his face was sore and the flight had laughed at him. His chest swelled at his abilities as he stalked her silently, body not making a sound as he crept across the wet floor of the shower block, glancing to the door he confirmed they were alone and the rest of the flight wouldn't be back for a while.
Taalli ran her soapy paws over her harness as it lay on the wet floor, her paw pads rubbing at the nylon webbing to remove the last of Bishop's vomit. Her frustration at her ability to continue to fail in combat exercises evident in her harsh scrubbing actions. The drill sergeant's words still ringing clearly in her mind, she had the opportunity to take the fight to the enemy, but was content to let Bishop do the work, the fact she was initially proud of her idea at the time made her jaw clench.
The sudden shift in the sound of the shower was the only warning she received as Jeenik stepped into the water stream, he wrapped his paws around her waist and pulled her backwards, her black paws slipping on the tiled floor as she fell. "What the fuck!-" she cried and tried to wiggle out of his grip but his claws dug into her sides. With a firm yank he pulled her hips under his, his dominating weight bearing down on her.
"I think it's time you felt what a real dragon is made of, you dumb bitch." He sneered, a smile pulling at his snout as he felt her struggle to get free, a rock of his hips rubbed his groin against the back of her tail, a tease for what was to come.
"HEY! GET THE FUCK OFF!" She snapped, quickly turning her head around to look at him, her heart dropping as she saw the commitment in his eyes.
"You think you are one of us? You are just a dumb whore who needs to be shown their place." He snarled while rubbing his hips against hers, his shaft starting to peek from his slit.
"JEENIK! GET OFF ME!" Taalli cried, thrashing vainly to get him off her back, her heart pounding in her chest as she distinctly felt his member smearing an early drop of pent up pre on her rump. His paws moved to her black wing arms as he held her chest to the wet floor.
"Oh, I like it when they have a little fight in 'em."
He predicted the lunge of her jaws like clockwork, pulling his head back just in time and quickly deflecting her head towards her own wing with a paw. Smiling at how predictable she was as he then gripped her horn firmly and drove it to the ground. "don't worry my little slut, you will be screaming my name by the time I've finished inside you." He whispered, his voice dripping with venom as his tail coiled around hers, pulling it safely to the side as he moved into position. "I'll take care of you, real good, I'll even hose you out when I'm done." He added, her whole body quivering in fear as he grinded his emerging shaft at the base of her tail, seeking the tender embrace of her slit.
Taalli's mind was awash of sensations as he forced himself on her, his probing tip pressing firmly against her rump and groin as he tried to reach the right angle to rape her. Her eyes were wide at the embarrassment and shame she felt, how easily he had overpowered her and his gut churning smirk as he enjoyed every minute. Her thrashes and squirms meant nothing to his stronger body, his wings holding her body under him while one paw pressed her head to the ground and the other pinned a delicate wing down to the ground. She could feel the strain on her wing as she tried to yank free, with practiced ease, he had immobilized her. "That's it, let it happen." He chided as his tip found her vent. With a firm rock of his hips he pressed his shaft against her tight snatch, its tip failing to breach her resistance as she clenched down hard. "Oh, you want it like that. It's okay, I like them tight." He said and rocked firmly against her, slathering her vent with the pre dribbling from his tip.
A desperate whine left her throat as she tried to flail free again to no success, tears falling from her amber eyes and her mind racing as he pressed again and again against her trying to enter and claim her snatch. “And they will never believe you." He said, his smile eroding the last remnants of her hope. "Your boyfriends can't save you now. You are mine" he growled, his tip catching her lips and trying to enter forcefully. "Fuck, when was your last drake? It doesn't matter though, you will always think of me after today." He spat.
With her head pinned and tail pushed out of the way she had almost given up all hope, her front paws stretched out under her, desperately scrambling for anything she could use to save herself. She strained her arms attempting to reach his shaft that was starting to worm its way inside her. She could feel her body about to give out and let him inside her as her claws brushed against her harness. His deep grunt echoing in the shower as he gave a hard shove forwards, moving her an inch out of reach of the tattered harness.
Taalli knew she had to press herself back into the vile creature to reach her harness, the feeling of his shaft mashed firmly against her vent, trying to breach her tight entrance and plunder her depths made her want to hurl in disgust.
Jeenik's heart was racing as he finally was about to take his pent up revenge on the stuck up 'ness, a long overdue payment for being so unceremoniously tased in a bar, for the constant ridicule he had received from the flight as she became the favored one. His pride swelling as he felt her slowly press back against him, her tight entrance still not yet yielding to his tip, "that's it bitch, I told you you would want this. Press yourself back into Jeenik, there's a good girl." He said, looking down he saw her once crying eyes were now focused on his with a glint that gave him pause.
As her claws wrapped around the hand stitched strap, a smile started to curl at her snout. The memories of picking it out for her birthday came rushing back, the sales pitch of the attendant explaining how the extra buckles would come in handy rang truer than either could have predicted.
Her deranged smile made his sinister smirk falter, never had a dragoness looked at him like that. The sound of something heavy and rubber coated being dragged on the ground was the only warning he received before she swung her training launcher blindly over her shoulder. The black and green, lead filled tube created a resounding thud as it impacted him in the side of his neck.
The roar of agony was music to her ears, the recoil in pain was all Taalli needed to roll her body out from his dominating grasp, the feeling of his cock no longer trying to get inside her was a breath of fresh air as she quickly extracted herself from under him. The straps of her old harness tethered to her dummy rocket launcher still clutched in her paw.
She had bounded to the door when he spoke, "that's right whore, go find your boyfriend."
Taalli paused at the door, heart racing with freedom just a few steps away. She turned and saw him standing under the shower, streams of water running down his strong defined muscles while he held a front paw against his neck, feeling for anything broken, "and you think you would ever be a killer." He spat.
She knew he was right, that's what hurt the most. Her tail twitched in irritation at his remark, looking at him she could tell he was a killer, in another league that could take what he wanted and control others for their bidding. Just like her father.
Her nostrils flared as she took a decisive breath of air, her pupils becoming nothing more than slits as she locked eyes with her assailant. Her lips quivering as they pulled themselves back to reveal her razor sharp teeth, with wings partially mantled she stepped back towards the green dragon. His eyes widening in surprise as she slowly walked closer, the sound of the rubber coated barrel tips of her AT4 being dragged across the ground as she prowled towards him were the only sounds that could be heard over the rush of water.
He smiled wickedly as she moved within leaping distance, instinctively crouching slightly as he readied himself to teach this pathetic excuse of a dragoness a final, permanent lesson.
Her body tensed as she crouched low, her tail feigned a left flick causing him to expect her to leap at his throat like she always did, his body turning to step out the way only to realize too late she had launched towards where his wing would be.
Her body uncoiling like a spring as she flew through the air, her jaws clamping closed and Jeenik roared in pain as her sharp teeth sliced through the delicate tendons in his wing knuckle. Momentum carrying her body past him as she remained latched on to his wing. The harsh tug of her sliding past him on the wet tiles forced him to turn with her as she came to a stop. Her sharp fangs rending through scales and flesh as he pulled the fragile limb from her maw as he prepared to leap at her.
With jaws wide he propelled himself with his strong legs at her, his pupils nothing but unfocused slits as he became content to bite into anything he could. His eyes went wide as he saw her rear up and lift a front leg to intercept his lunge, but instead of blocking with her paw, the heavy metal tube of her AT4 filled his vision. His mouth felt on fire as his teeth failed to find her soft flesh and instead found the hard metal tube. The tips of his razor sharp teeth chipped as he instinctively bit down.
With a firm tug Taalli pulled the training tube from his jaws and swung it by the strap in a wide arc back down producing a sickening sound as it connected with the base of his wing shoulder. His eyes clamping shut as he roared out in pain, his body collapsing on the ground and curling around in agony as pulses of sharp pain emanated from his wing shoulder, his wing now hanging at an unnatural angle.
With him prone she did not hesitate, letting the AT4 hang from her wrist she wrapped her black paws around his horns, lifting his head up before forcing his head down to the ceramic tiles with a loud, wet, crash. While the flooring was designed for dragons to walk on, the tiles disintegrated under the impact of his jaw.
Lifting his head up again, she reared up on her hind legs, ready to drive him down again. The low growl from him was the only warning before he sprung into her chest, his hind legs launching them both backwards, falling against the wall of the shower block.
Taalli cried out in pain as her neck slammed into one of the metal shower heads, her mass knocking it off the wall and sending the water in every direction. Stunned and in pain, she felt her legs go out from under her, Jeeniks weight forcing her against the ground with his full weight now on top of her.
Dazed and panicked, she saw him pulling one of the shower hoses from the wall, his green paws wasting no time as they wrapped the thick hose around her neck and pulled tight. The tap let out a screech as he turned the outlet on. Taalli gasped as she felt the once flat hose inflate with water, cutting off her air supply, her claws trying in vain to pull the hose off her.
"You fucking bitch! I'm going to fuck you up good." He snarled, placing a firm paw on her chest to pin her down to the ground as he straddled her, his expression looking deranged as blood dripped from his mouth. His larger green body blocking the constant flow of water from the broken shower head as he tried to wedge his body between her thighs.
Glancing between them, Taalli could make out his purple barbed cock still partially erect and outside of his slit. With a swift kick between his legs his sensitive member was introduced to the hard muscular limb, its fleshy barbs designed to stimulate the soft walls of a dragoness, not have hard smooth scales driven into them. She was rewarded with the sound of his pained groan as the breath was knocked out of him and he fell heavily against her in pain. Using her paws, she shoved him off her, his body not seeming to cooperate with his mind as he hunched over whimpering.
Getting to her feet she gave a firm tug with her body to detach the hose from the wall, instantly feeling the relief in her neck as the hose lost pressure and softened. Taking a welcomed breath of air before she looked down at the huddled green mass. Quickly grabbing a horn in her black paw, she heaved his head up against the wall, smashing it against the tiled surface and letting go. The satisfying thud of his limp head striking the ground caused her to smile, looking around the room she spotted the mirror. Taking the base of his skull into her jaws she dragged him across the wet room towards the wall to wall mirror the cadets used to ensure their harnesses were on correctly all while his legs tried in vain to regain balance and support his weight.
The first smack of his head against the wall broke the mirror, spiderweb cracks running its length as large plates of the reflective glass fell free and impacted the ground with a ear splitting crash, the second slammed his green face into the sharp blades that still clung to the wall. The following drag of his face across its surface drove small fragments of glass in between his scales, his mouth opening to roar in pain but in turn exposed his fleshy gums and inner cheek to the sharp glass of the broken mirror.
Managing to get his front paws against the wall, he drove his head back towards her, his sharp horns threatening to stab into her eyes before she quickly let go of his neck and stepped back. His body falling back uncontrollably, causing him to stumble and and take a wobbly step away from her.
His expression was of pure fear as she wrapped the straps of the AT4 around her black paw, shortening their length until she held the metal tube in her grip. "You like a little fight in them do you?" She snarled. Seeing her predatory eyes and his blood dripping from her jaws he took a step backwards, his eyes glancing to the door as she continued to approach.
As she lunged, he tried to move out of the way but his body felt sluggish, he tried to roar for help but his mouth was forced open and only a desperate cry came from his throat as she shoved the AT4 sideways into his maw. The dummy rocket launcher became stuck as the hard stubs of his rear teeth latched around the curvature of the metal tube. With a firm tug of her paw she pulled the dummy rocket launcher down to the ground, sending him to the ground. Jeenik's muffled cry fell on deaf ears as her rage boiled over, His roar was muffled by the launcher, sounding no louder than that of a hatching as his jaw was slammed into the floor once again. all while his mouth was forced open wide by the lead filled tube that was still lodged in his mouth.
Taalli let go of the straps and lifted her body up onto her hind legs before coming down, his head lifting off the ground in an attempt to retreat as her black paws came down and collided with his snout. The sickening crack of his lower jaw breaking around the metal tube sounded out across the tiled room, followed by a blood curdling scream.
Rearing up again, Taalli saw how he was trying to desperately pull his head away, but she adjusted her body and repeated the strike, his top teeth shattering around the metal tube and a wet choked roar came from his blood filled mouth.
He felt her let go of his snout and rear up again and tried to weakly pull back to safety, his body slow and his neck protested in agony. His attempts were in vain as her paws came crashing down on his head once more. Blood flowing from his mouth as his tongue was punctured by the remnants of his own teeth.
His voice was muffled and almost incoherent as he begged, "please- please, get off me."
"No." She said flatly over the sounds of the running water.
Taalli saw his body give up, his legs scrabbling briefly before going limp as she reared up higher, her mind taking note of her blood soaked black paws, the color she inherited from her father but she didn't care. Below her was not a dragon, but simply a vile mass of meat and scales that needed to be snuffed out, she knew what had to be done to protect others like her from his touch. Slamming back down again she felt his snout break under her paw, the sound of its sickening crunch and his gurgling whine filling the shower, a geyser of blood erupting from his nostrils as the blood vessels were snapped and torn by bone.
The groan he let out told her everything she needed to know, and she reared up one final time. Looking up at her, he saw the determination in her amber eyes, gone was the timid orange dragoness who was unsure why she was here, and in its place was an unbridled force that could not be stopped. His eyes closed as he accepted his fate, his body completely limp and unresponsive under the victor. Time seemed to slow as she held his life in her paws, one drive down and she would end him for good, his whole being just one final strike away from becoming a footnote on a newspaper and a memory to those that knew him. Taking a deep breath she expected a part of her to resist, to shy away from ending him. But when no resistance came she snarled and stretched up further on her hind legs to put as much power behind her final fatal blow.
The firm voice shouting out over the sound of the rushing water made her exhale and snap her jaw closed. "Stand down, cadet! Stand down."
Taalli remained at full height as her eyes glanced to the source, and saw the drill sergeant's violet eyes burning into hers. Looking down at the pathetic mass below her she took another breath, "Five more minutes, I'm almost finished."
"That is enough, cadet!" She barked and walked towards her, her tan paws splashing in the water that had flooded the floor while long tendrils of red blood snaked their way in the water from Jeenik to the drains.
Taalli's body wavered while she remained poised to slam down on the vile creature. "He, he tried to rape me." She said firmly and focused back on the green dragon, her mind begging her to just drive down one last time.
The drill sergeant looked at the tangled hose around her neck, and gave a firm push to the green dragon to sprawl him out on his side, his limp purple dick still peaking from his slit. "I can't let you do that, cadet." She said firmly to the orange dragoness. "Not on my watch, stand down."
Taalli looked between the drill sergeant and Jeenik before snapping her jaws and coming down on to all fours next to him. Adrenaline pumping through her body as she took a few steps back and sat to attention.
Jeenik slowly rolled to his side and groaned in pain as the drill sergeant extracted the launcher from his broken jaws. "Medic, I need a medic, '' he groaned, his voice muffled by the blood oozing from his broken face.
The drill sergeant paid him no attention and inspected the damaged dummy launcher, deep gouges marked the exterior where his teeth had been embedded, she stepped over to the stream of water coming from the broken shower head and placed it under the flow to wash the blood, turning back to Taalli her voice held a tone of understanding. "There will be others, I promise you, there will be plenty of others. But not him, not now."
Taalli was about to protest when she saw Riimack's head emerge from a large doorway and quickly step inside towards Taalli, other members of the flight peering in from the safety of the hallway.
Jeenik coughed, a large clot of blood leaving his throat as he looked to the sergeant. "Medic-"
"Cadet Riimack, please escort cadet Taalli to the mess hall and wait for me there, the rest of you will help me relocate Jeenik to the road."
Jeenik felt he was in a nightmare as he begged for help while being ignored, the other members of the flight moving around him with a look of displeasure as they rolled him to his feet and lifted him to their shoulders. His body in agony as one dragon carried him under each wing with no regard to his broken wing shoulder. All while another carried his tail, and his broken head dangled down towards the ground, leaving a long trail of blood behind him, "please, I need a medic-"
"Our medics are for cadets, Jeenik." The drill sergeant said coldly, her violet eyes piercing his as she walked alongside him. "And you ain't a fucking cadet." Her voice left no room for rebuttal.
The size difference between the human police captain and Teeslah meant nothing as he berated the scaled officer. "I don't give a flying fuck what you smelt, you can't go cornering people in alley ways and being all threatening!" He spat at the dragon.
Teeslah's tail curled around him as he took the verbal beating from his superior, all while his partner Jim stood beside him. "Look around you Teeslah, there ain't a whole lot of dragons in the force. And complaints like this are exactly why there is such a push to have you lot only investigate dragon crimes."
"But sir, this is a dragon crime, a 'ness is missing, and I'm sure he know-"
"Then it must be done through the correct channels, as per protocol. Stalking a human down an alleyway and cornering him against his van in the early hours of the morning is-"
"It wasn't stalking, I simply approached him," Teeslah interjected, his captains glare at him lost on his logical mind. "He was in an alleyway, I walked to him and asked questions, I could smell a dragoness on him, and informed him of the consequences of harboring a criminal."
The chief's face was burning red in rage and Jim politely stepped in, "what he means to say Teeslah, is you are a lot larger than a human and you need to be aware that we humans can get scared if you get too close, especially if we feel trapped." Jim tried to keep a neutral tone as he addressed the dragon, not placing blame but trying to apply a logical reason.
"If his girlfriend is a dragon, how can he be scared of a dragon being close?"
The captain walked behind his desk sat back in his chair with a defeated sigh. "Doesn't matter, his boss put in an official complaint about you threatening his staff, staff who had already been arrested, questioned and released."
"So what, we just ignore he is with her?" Teeslah asked, his voice raising slightly, "he knows where she is! We have to bring him in and question him again."
The chief picked up an old baseball from his desk and tossed it from one hand to another as he contemplated his next words carefully. "Did you smell her?" He asked while leaning back in his chair. "And I mean specifically her?"
Teeslah opened his mouth to speak before pausing. He remembered the scent, a dragoness, likely a young adult but shook his head, "a dragoness, but I don't know if it was her." He said and his head drooped as the chief turned to face him.
"Okay, this is what's gonna happen." He said and pointed to Jim, "you are to be with him anytime he is doing policing. Your job is to make sure he isn't threatening people, knowingly or not. Okay?" He asked and made sure Jim understood before turning to the dragon, "and you, you are not a detective, you are a beat cop okay? That being said, should you two find any clues, together mind you, while out and about. You bring them to me, okay?" He said firmly.
Teeslah opened his mouth to clarify but Jim placed a hand on his shoulder. "I think Teeslah understands." Jim said to the captain while giving a firm stare to Teeslah to close his mouth.
With a nod, the captain dismissed the pair and Jim quickly guided Teeslah out before he could interject. As the human closed the captain's door behind them he could tell his scaled companion was wanting to complain, "just accept it, Teeslah. It's probably the best your gonna get."
"But, I didn't do anything wrong?"
Jim sighed, knowing this would be a losing battle, "like I said, big scary dragon, little human. Sometimes it's not how it is, but how it can look. You got off lightly, just accept it, roll with the punch and let's just get back to work. I'm way too tired to deal with this. Okay?" He added while walking behind his dragon partner, smiling as he heard the dragon snort and mutter under his breath.
Taalli sat next to Riimack as her body shivered. The high of the adrenaline slowly left her body, her tail quivering and she kept furling and unfurling her wings slightly, fidgeting as she contemplated what had just happened. Jeenik's attempt to force himself on her had shocked her, but it seemed inconsequential compared to turmoil that was going on in her head. She had wanted to kill the green dragon, not run, not get even, but to actually end his life. The fact that she was okay with this, was what was causing her heart to beat faster. Leena would have never acted like that, the drive behind her striking out at her father felt so pathetic compared to the conviction she had felt in the shower.
She looked down at her black paws, a constant reminder of her father's blood that ran in her veins. As she turned her paws over, she saw a small green scale from Jeeniks snout, wedged between her toe pads. Sitting on her haunches she picked it free, her mind drifting to how Mike had so delicately cleaned her toes the night before and his promise to polish her paws after graduation.
Her jaw clenched at the thought of discussing what had happened with Mike, would he still love her, knowing what she had tried to do? She swallowed with a tight lump in her throat as she imagined his soft innocent face as she told him she had tried to kill a dragon, and that she would do it again if she had too.
Her head perked up at the sounds of bone splintering as snapped her attention to Riimack who sat awkwardly next to her. A sticky meat rib held in his claws as he bit into the bone. "What? Want some?" He said and offered her his half eaten snack. Smiling sheepishly as her amber eyes flicked from the offered snack to his sauce covered snout and turned back to face ahead, waiting for the judgment of the drill sergeant.
She sighed as he continued to eat the noisy snacks she had bought on his behalf, her mind going back to the events that led to her leaving the base without him, how she had hesitated in the mud pit and knowing she would have no hesitation anymore. "How's the wing?" She asked and glanced over to her friend.
"It's a rib actually" he said as he finished it off.
"No.... I mean your wing, you prat. It got fucked in the mud pit, remember?"
Riimack smiled and shuffled his wing, "I think I was just being a little bitch. A good night's sleep and it's right as rain. Snacks and noodles always help too." He added and pulled another sealed rib from his harness. "Want one?"
"How can you just eat like nothing has happened?" She asked. He just shrugged while unwrapping another rib. "I almost killed a cadet and you're okay with that?" she probed as her voice took on an almost accusatory tone.
Riimack glanced at her and then back to his rib longingly, "he deserved it." He said simply and held it up to his snout. He was about to bite into it when he heard her dismissive snort as she focused on the far wall.
He glanced back at her and then went to take another bite as she spoke, her words making him pause to listen, mouth open as he held the snack to his snout. "But I- I wanted to kill him." She added, "I would have too, like his life was in my paws, and I wanted to end it." She said and turned her head to him for support. "What do you think will happen?" She asked as he attempted to take another bite.
Riimack looked at her and then back to his snack, not knowing what to say he held it out to her. "Have this." He said and wiggled it in his claws for her.
"I don't want it." She said flatly and returned to facing the far wall, her eyes flicking to Riimack as he shuffled closer.
"Here comes the big dwagon, trying to find its cave!" He said moving the rib towards her in a slight flapping motion. "Oh noes! The big dwagon cannot find the cave!" He exclaimed in a baby voice, only to be met by her unamused glare. Undeterred he continued. "Is this my cave?" He said and touched the sticky rib to her nose, the sweet smell of the sticky sauces filling her nose. "No, that's not my cave." He chided and held it just in front of her snout. “Can you find my cave?"
Taalli opened her mouth to protest, only for him to quickly stick the meaty treat in her mouth. "There! There's the cave." He started with a smile. "Now stop worrying about everything else and just enjoy your rib." He said and fished a half eaten bag of jerky from his harness pouch.
"You will be fine." He stated and glanced back to her, the sticky rib still half hanging out of her stunned face. "He was a dick, the green shit stain deserved it. If you didn't do it, I was already pretty close to laying him out." He said nonchalantly, "crunch-crunch, Taalli, the bone won't get any softer even if you suck it." He added and pulled out a strip of jerky to chew on.
The crunch of the rib bone splintering in her mouth made him smile, glancing over he could see the small smile at the corners of her mouth as she secretly enjoyed the sweetened meat. "There, better?" He asked rhetorically, knowing she had her mouthful.
They enjoyed the silence as they both ate. Once she finished her rib, he held the bag of jerky out to her, giving it a small shake to bring the big pieces to the top.
"I feel like I'm at the principal's office." Taalli said softly while fishing out a large piece from his bag.
Riimack raised an eyeridge, "spend much time at the principal's office did you?" He asked with a smirk, "you naughty-naughty 'ness" he added playfully causing her to blurt a laugh.
"Oh, and you didn't?"
Riimack feigned offense, "me? I was a good little drake, thank you very much." He lied. "But enough about me, what did tiny Taalli do to end up at the principal's office? Hmmm?" He asked and playfully shoved her as he sat next to her.
Taalli chuckled as she thought back to the prestigious school she once attended, enjoying the change of topic to something less morbid, "uniform things." She said flatly.
"Uniform things? What do you mean." He teased and smiled when she glared at him with a smile.
Taalli sighed, while the story was embarrassing, there was a not insignificant chance she could be kicked out of the academy. "Fuck it." She said flatly, "the school had a very specific dress code, for harnesses." She said and saw his look of disbelief, "all harness straps must be black and 3 inches wide, the school crest must be on display!" she added in a nasal tone, imitating her teacher.
"Okay, that's dumb." Riimack chided, during his schooling he always had hand me downs from his older brother, and the public schools cared little for dress codes.
"I know right, so, I bought one of those adult ones, the lacy french maid looking ones...." She said, her words hanging in the air, smiling as Riimack's jaw dropped. "The straps were 3 inches wide... Just very see through." She added with a chuckle before laughing at his shocked expression. "Oh come on! It was a stupid rule, especially for the younger dragons, straps that wide made them look ridiculous."
Riimack closed his jaw and smiled, trying to purge the image of her wearing a frilly lace harness. The silver scales on his snout tinted a few shades red as she giggled. "You should have seen where I put the crest, the drakes sure thought it was on display." She teased causing him to tuck his wings closer to his sides.
"Were you expelled?" He asked, trying to redirect the conversation to somewhere less graphic.
Taalli reached into his bag and retrieved another piece of jerky, "no, the school fees were too high for them to let me go. So instead, they made me model the next uniform they made." She said and took a bite, "yup, if you went to my school, you would probably find a very bored looking, tiny Taalli showing off the latest school harness."
Riimack's smirk faltered as he processed what she said, the way she casually mentioned a school mandated harness, and high fees suggested a private school. Not a likely school for a dragon who came from an abandoned egg, although he thought it could be possible she was adopted into a wealthy family.
His thoughts were interrupted as the drill sergeant came marching into the mess hall. Both the cadets quickly finished their snacks and sat to attention as she approached, her claws clinking on the concrete floor while Taalli's AT4 hung off her harness. Both Taalli and Riimack saw the document folder that was also strapped tightly to the Sargent's harness.
As she stopped in front of the pair she looked Riimack in the eyes, "cadet Riimack, the flight informed me you did not complete the kill, as instructed." She stated firmly.
"Correct ma'am," he said and saw she was waiting for an answer. "I had a hunch ma'am, when Jeenik did not join the exercise, I needed to ensure he was safe." He said, not a complete lie.
The drill sergeant looked him up and down and gave a brief glance to Taalli, "and I understand you were not alone in this concern for a cadets welfare?"
Riimack glanced to Taalli and then back to the sergeant, "ma'am, other cadets shared my concern for their fellow cadet." He said giving a slight nod towards Taalli to ensure they both knew who they were genuinely concerned about.
"Very well." The drill sergeant said flatly, "you did well to ensure that no dragon was left behind and that the flight was safe. When the rest of the flight returns from the kill, oversee that the shower block is cleaned, someone seems to have made a mess."
"Yes ma'am" Riimack said and got to his feet, he gave Taalli a last glance back over his shoulder as he left the mess hall.
The drill sergeant waited until the silver dragon had left before refocusing on Taalli. She calmly sat down across the table from the orange dragoness and slowly undid the straps holding the lead filled AT4. The dull thud of it being placed on the table echoing across the otherwise empty mess hall.
Taalli's eyes focused on the launcher, her old harness starting to fray from where her claws had dug into it. Her gaze swept up the tube, noticing the countless deep scratches in its exterior from the green dragon's teeth, and the slight kink at two points in the tube from where it had been bent in his maw.
"You fought well, cadet." The drill sergeant finally said, a hint of reverence in her voice. "He was bigger and stronger than you, yet you took him on, why?"
Taalli swallowed, "because he tried to rape me." She said softly, "ma'am"
"Forget the ma'am shit, why didn't you run, hide, find others?" She said sternly, her violet eyes looking into Taalli's amber ones for any signs of the soft dragoness she once knew.
Taalli sat up straighter, and held her gaze. "Because he needed to be stopped." She said flatly, "and I didn't want anyone else to let him get away with it."
The sergeant's gaze narrowed, assessing the young dragoness's conviction to her claim, the heavy silence that followed hung like a thick cloud as the drill sergeant contemplated what should happen next.
"What now? Am I going to be kicked out?" Taalli asked.
The drill sergeant shook her head, "no, you can stay. He, on the other hand, has been given a medical discharge, he will receive a measly pension and will never step foot on this base again."
"What!" Taalli exclaimed, the idea of Jeenik's smug expression as he happily cashed an early pension almost made her blood boil. "He tried to rape me! And he gets let off and paid for it!" She shouted and stood up, her wings mantling and body yearning to go back and finish the job on him, her mind working out how far he could have gotten.
The drill sergeant's face was expressionless as she looked at the enraged cadet. "I'm doing you a favor." She said coldly, "sit the fuck back down cadet."
Taalli's heart raced as she looked to the exit and then back to the sergeant, the firm purple eyes of the dragoness giving her pause before she slowly and reluctantly sat back down. "How- how is this a favor?"
"It's way too much paperwork to dismiss a cadet for trying to rape another." She said simply.
"Too much paperwork?!" Taalli exclaimed, her heart racing, "he tried to put his dick in me, and you won't do anything because of paperwork-"
"Yes," she said firmly, cutting Taalli off, "paperwork, which a dragon like you won't want to be a part of." She left Taalli confused as she retrieved the document folder from her harness and placed it carefully on the table between them. "Taalli, aged 22." She said as she read off the sheet, her eyes glancing up to Taalli and then back down, "I would have said 20. Birth date unknown, hatch date, 7th of September. Egg abandoned at Lady Fremra's open nest. Nest schooled so there are no attendance records, drifted for a few years, and then enlisted in Aurelia's Academy." She said and looked the orange dragoness in the eyes, "the problem is, I've seen you before, and I know this is all bullshit." She said flatly and saw Taalli stiffen.
Taalli was speechless, wracking her brain to work out how the sergeant knew her. "I- I can explain."
"I'm sure you can." The sergeant mused and closed the document folder. "Lady Fremra's open nest closed its doors about a month before you hatched. I keep telling the recruiters to be more original, yet they still write it down."
Taalli's whole body was stiff as she looked at the folder and back to the sergeant.
"Like I said, paperwork that a dragon like you wouldn't want to be a part of." She looked at the orange dragoness and could see she was trying to think of an excuse, an out, or a loophole. "Like I said, I've seen you before, many times now. Usually a drake though, usually some business with the law. Or over some 'ness. Either way, I don't care." She said and retrieved a sheet of paper from the back of the folder and slid it over to Taalli. "The official report will state that Jeenik suffered a tragic loss of balance while performing routine cleaning of a shower stall. Injuring his jaw and snout in the process. We were both in attendance and witnessed the poor dragon's injury." She added and produced a large pen from the front of her harness.
"But-" Taalli started and looked down at the paper. "This isn't what happened."
"What happened, is what we saw happened, Taalli. The truth would have military police crawling over this place and your records. Would you prefer that?" She asked rhetorically and clicked the pen before placing it in front of the orange dragoness.
Her paw quivered as she took the pen from the sergeant, her jaw clenched as she slowly and reluctantly scribbled the same mess she had used on her application paperwork and dropped the pen on the table, head drooping in resignation that Jeenik had still somehow won.
"What now?" She asked softly.
The sergeant collected the report and pen, placing them gently into the folder and strapped it back to her harness for official filing. "You continue your training, then graduation, that's what happens next. You will then go onto a fantastic career saving lives, killing bad guys and having many eggs, up to you, once you graduate, you're not my problem."
Taalli gave a weak nod and stood up, with a black paw she reached for the dummy AT4. "I don't think you will need that." The sergeant mused and stood up, "no one will fuck with you now, and your body is clearly strong enough without carrying this around anymore." She said with a hint of amusement.
Taalli gave a nod of understanding, her eyes lingered on the makeshift sling she had fashioned from her old harness. It's once pristine, hand crafted leather straps and forged buckles now broken, ripped and frayed. Her mind wandered as she looked at its broken form, a symbol of her old life now left behind on the table as she turned to leave the mess hall.
Weeks later
"Okay, run me through what you need to do, one more time." Mike said as the van approached the academy, signs and streamers had been hung advertising the graduation ceremony all while some of the less fortunate cadets acted as marshals and directed the countless dragons towards the grounds. “It's been 6 weeks since I've seen her, I need this to go smoothly."
Ben chuckled, "relax, I've got this, just enjoy the ceremony." He said as he slowed the van down to a stop as they gave way to a family of dragons walking across the carpark which had been marked as a large landing pad for the event. Glancing over he could see Mike wasn't amused and had a nervous look in his eyes. With a sigh, Ben repeated the plan. "I drop you off. I then go up to the caves, drop off all this stuff and make sure they take it to your site as a surprise. You have given me cash to make sure they do exactly as the list says, it's not that hard. It will be great and she will love it."
Mike leant back in his seat and held his knees to stop his hands from shaking. "Sorry, I just don't want anything to go wrong."
Ben smiled, "mate, you have really pulled out all the stops. She is a lucky 'ness."
"Thanks." Mike muttered, it had been weeks since he had seen her last and with only a day before she continued her training he desperately didn't want to waste the precious time they had together. Looking around, Mike noticed a significant lack of cars and mused that it was a dragon academy after all. He glanced at his watch as Ben pulled the van into a drop off area, "Thanks Ben, again, I owe you one." He said and reached behind Ben's seat.
"It's all good, I get the unit to myself." Ben chuckled as Mike left the van.
Mike smiled, "well, you won't need to tell him to be quiet now will you." He teased, causing Ben to blush. "I'll call you if I need a ride home." He added and closed the passenger door.
Mike gave a wave goodbye and slung his bag over one shoulder, its contents making a sloshing sound as they were jostled inside. Following the stream of dragons making their way into the base he couldn't shake the feeling of being out of place, surrounded by the larger dragons he nervously adjusted his bag and kept walking.
As he entered the base he couldn't help but smile at a young hatchling that was perched on its father's shoulders looking back at him, its little snout breaking out into a wide grin as it returned his expression.
While trying to stay out of the way of the crowd, Mike slowly made his way past a recruitment tent and noticed a lot of the promotional material had been adjusted to emphasize that 'you too can be like your loved ones.' If only they enlisted today.
Mike paused to let a dragon pass and couldn't help overhear the recruiter spinning tales of how the dragon they were trying to recruit could be a doctor in the military. Going into details on how it was easier, and more importantly, cheaper than becoming a doctor through traditional means. Mike glanced over to the lanky green and tan male dragon who sat eagerly in front of the recruiter collecting brochures.
A loud bell rang out to announce the beginning of the ceremony and the dragon families and Mike quickly made their way towards a large assembly area. Due to the number of dragons attending, large thick foam mats had been rented and laid out on the ground for the dragons to rest on while they watched their loved ones graduate. Mike meanwhile carefully made his way towards the front and found a corner of a mat that gave him an unobstructed view of the podium. He quickly sat down and placed his bag on the ground beside him as a military band began to play.
Teeslah's tail twitched against the foam mat to the beat of the drums that the band beat on, the deep bass and rhythm was infectious as he looked around to try and spot his younger brother.
As the band finished their pieces they filed off to a corner of the assembly grounds and stowed their instruments. A shadow passed over the crowd and the crowd let out a collective gasp as they all turned their heads upwards and an amplified voice boomed out from the speakers that dotted around the large assembly area.
"Drakes and 'nesses, esteemed guests and families of the fallen. It is my honor to present our country's latest wave of recruits…."
Mike used a hand to try and block out the sun as he looked up at the dragons flying in perfect formation, their wing beats in perfect syncronisation as they gracefully banked above the crowd that had gathered. Squinting, he tried to pick out Taalli's sleeker form against the overcast sky, smiling as he saw her orange scales contrasting against the clouds.
"... These cadets are graduating today only because they have proven themselves worthy and completed the rigorous training required, honing their skills to become a valuable asset in defending our fine country's interests."
As the flight descended to the center of the assembly area and touched down together, the crowd erupted in a thunderous applause, beating their wings against their sides. The sounds of Mike's clapping inaudible over the dragons but he didn't care, looking to Taalli she remained focused and posed as they all sat to attention.
A tan coloured dragoness took to the podium and Mike's attention was pulled from his Taalli to the wingless dragoness as she began her speech, going into details about the journey the cadets had undergone and how she was proud to see them take their place amongst the countless ranks of others who had come before them.
While he saw the similarities between their university graduation and this one, because the format was very similar. He couldn't shake the feeling that he didn't belong here, the whole crowd made up exclusively of dragons celebrating the achievements of their loved ones.
He looked to Taalli and saw her sitting proudly, neck curved back in a tight S shape as she listened to the wingless dragon, her scales were less dull compared to the last time he saw her, but still a far cry from the vibrant glossy orange he remembered her as. Her strong wing arms were tucked close to her sides and he saw her steal a glance towards the silver and blue dragon next to her and they both smirked at some silent inside joke.
As the tan dragoness finished her speech she started to call the dragons one by one up to the stage, presenting each one with a small medal and a name patch for their harnesses. Mike politely clapped along as each cadet took to the stage and bowed politely, pausing to let their medal be pinned on them and name patch attached before walking back to their seats.
Mike's head perked up as he heard Riimack's name be called, his eyes locking to the silver dragon next to Taalli as he stood and made his way to the stage while the crowd politely clapped their wings against their sides.
Mike tried to shrug the feeling of inadequacy as the strong toned drake covered the distance in powerful strides, his glossy silver scales rippling with every step while he held his blue wings close to his body. Glancing back to Taalli he could see her eyes focused on her battle buddy as he received his medal and name patch, returning to his place with a broad grin on his snout.
Teeslah's eyes widened as the next dragon was called to the stage. While the name was wrong, the appearance of the orange dragoness with black paws matched the description of Leena. His whole body stiffened as he saw her take to the stage to receive her medal and patch. Any doubt in his mind was erased when he saw the human he had 'threatened' stand up in the front row to applaud her.
"Let's go Taalli!" Both Mike and Riimack yelled, the human's voice unable to be heard over Riimack's deep powerful voice.
Taalli blushed and smiled at Riimack's antics but remained focused on her drill instructor as her medal and name patch were attached to her harness.
Teeslah watched as Mike continued to applaud long after the rest of the audience had stopped, only once he seemed satisfied with his appreciation did he take his seat again. Teeslah instinctively reached to his harness for his radio, his paw grabbing at nothing, his mind starting to race as he realized he was unable to contact his partner.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the crowd stood as the cadets were dismissed, roars of joy erupted from the crowd and the cadets as they turned and quickly ran to their families. Mike suddenly regretted being in the front row as families of dragons surged past him, their larger bodies almost knocking him down as he lost sight of the cadets.
"Mike!" Was the only warning he received before he saw a flash of orange and black as Taalli pushed past a dragon and snatched him up in her paws. Smiling, he felt her sit back on her haunches and lift him off the ground in her embrace, her reassuring warmth and grip making him wrap his arms around her neck and squeeze her tight.
"Taalli." He said simply and kissed her throat as she slowly rocked from side to side with his feet dangling in the air. "Congratulations." He added.
A wolf whistle snapped them both out of their thoughts, their heads turning to see the smiling face of one of the cadets walking past. "Oh shut it!" Taalli playfully snapped at her fellow cadet and continued to hug Mike.
"Get sum!" Another said enthusiastically as they passed the pair, their comment causing Taalli to chuckle and Mike to blush.
"Oh I will." Taalli called back, Mike's eyes going wide at her confidence. He relaxed his grip on her neck and she slowly lowered him back down to the ground. He took a step back and felt self conscious as the other dragons walked past them.
"Should we get out of here?" Mike asked and collected his bag while she paused to glance around at her fellow graduates,
"I just need to say goodbye-"
"Leena! Stay where you are." Called a firm voice from beside them, Mike's eyes widened as he saw the police dragon from the alleyway stepping up right next to them, wings half mantled and ready to take flight if they tried to escape.
Mike went to take a step between the dragon and Taalli, but her black paw guided him back beside her as she stood and faced off against the mysterious dragon.
"You must be mistaking me for someone else-"
"Don't lie Leena, you are coming with me." He said, keeping his voice down to not make a scene while making sure the gold badge he wore on his harness was visible. He saw the orange dragoness's eyes flick to it and back to his before glancing to the sky, "don't fly! It will only make things worse."
Taalli paused, she knew she could probably take him on in a fight. But as families of dragons mingled around her, she knew it wouldn't get her anywhere and attacking an officer was not something she wanted to have added to her record.
"I'm Taalli," She started, her focused eyes holding Teeslah's gaze with matched intent. "And I'm not coming with you."
The two dragons held each other's gaze, Teeslah's eyes flicked over her as he sized her up and came to the conclusion that a fight would be brutal and one he would not easily win. "Let's not make a scene, come with me back to the station and we can sort this out amicably." Teeslah said calmly, without his police gear he would have no way to actually restrain the dragoness and would rely on either subduing her until someone could call for backup, or convincing her to come peacefully.
"Not happening." Taalli said flatly, she could feel Mike's arm against her side as her wings lifted slightly, ready to pounce if needed.
"There you are!" Boomed Riimack's voice as he spotted his older brother and came bounding over, only slowing to a cautious trot when he realized the two dragons were poised to leap at one another.
"Stay back Riimack, this is a police matter." Stated Teeslah, his eyes not leaving the tense dragoness in front of him.
Riimack swallowed and took a few steps closer, "Teeslah, it's okay. She did it out of self defense, Jeenik was trying to-" he paused as he saw Taalli's deadly eyes locked onto his brother, the way she held herself, with her tail deathly still and claws pressed against the concrete made it very clear that she felt threatened and could turn violent in the blink of an eye.
"Taalli, Teeslah, what's going on." Riimack asked, trying to keep his voice low and calm, he looked around and saw most of the dragons were filing out of the assembly area, blissfully unaware of the tensions between the two dragons squaring off.
"Her name is not Taalli, it's Leena and she is under arrest for corporate espionage." Teeslah said with authority.
"I don't look like I'm under arrest." Taalli sneered, her wings stretching slightly wider to emphasize her point.
Mike looked at the police badge and up at his tense dragoness, placing a hand against her shoulder, he kept his voice quiet and soft, "hey, let's not do anything we will regret, okay." He said, his voice wavering as he saw the true visceral power within his dragoness for the first time, his chest tight as he realized he wasn't genuinely sure if she would stand down or not.
"There must be some confusion, this is Taalli." Riimack said and stood next to his brother.
Taalli's eyes flicked to Riimack's and back to Teeslah's, her mind piecing together the similarities in their builds, their horns had the same curve and facial structures were uncanny under their different coloured scales. Mike's hand wrapped around her forearm and she sighed, relaxing slightly as she knew she wouldn't win against both dragons and the chances of Mike getting injured in the process was too high.
She smiled slightly as she saw the police dragon let out an exhale of relief. She slowly sat back onto her haunches as Mike continued to hold onto her foreleg, his hands gently stroking up and down her scales.
"What's corporate… what did you say again?" Riimack said quietly, breaking the silence.
"Corporate espionage, She has admitted to stealing and sending confidential documents of her fathers work to another party." Teeslah stated flatly.
Riimack looked to his brother, "I take it that's bad?"
Teeslah glared at his naive younger brother, "it's not good, Leena here needs to come back to the station with me."
"Like I said, I'm not Leena and I am not coming with you." Taalli replied shortly.
Riimack could see she was lying as his mind put together the pieces in her head, remembering back to the mentions of her past he started to side with his brother, as much as it pained him to see Taalli standing on the other side of the law.
"Not saying you did, But hypothetically, did Leena do it? IF you were this Leena 'ness, did you steal the documents?" Riimack said, looking at Taalli.
"Doesn't matter if she did or didn't, her father is rather wealthy and very powerful. He will make sure she is punished. Just to prove a point."
Riimack looked from his battle buddy and back to his brother before he sighed. "What happens if she is found guilty, what happens to Leena then?"
"She goes to jail."
"Even if she didn't do it?" Riimack asked and Teeslah shrugged. “Taalli, do you think your- I mean, Leena's father would really do that? Send his own child to prison to prove a point."
Taalli gave a weak nod while still holding Teeslah's gaze, “He threatened to kill Mike, and pretend it was an accident. He even had Mike arrested, Leena made a video to get him in the clear." she said and felt Mike's reassuring hand on her foreleg squeeze a little bit harder.
“He sounds like a piece of work, Leena's father I mean, Do you really think he could convince a court to send you to jail?" Riimack said and looked to his brother when she nodded, "Teeslah, we both know how bad things can go when in court." He added.
Teeslah's gaze became slightly unfocused as he remembered sitting next to his younger brother in the stale courtroom. The fear and despair they felt as Riimack's judgment was delivered with the echoing thud of the judges gavel.
"Do you really have to arrest her?" Riimack asked softly, taking a step in front of his brother and sitting to face his back to Taalli.
"It's my job Riimack." Teeslah replied but saw the pained look in his brother's blue eyes. He could see that there was a strong connection between his brother and the orange dragoness, he knew this could drive a wedge between their relationship and there was nothing he wanted more than to be a happy family once again. He swallowed as he felt his judgment being eroded and wished his partner was there.
"Are you even working today?" Riimack offered weakly. “Can't you just turn off for a day?"
"That's not how it works." Teeslah said, "she broke the law, she has to come in, that's how it is. I may not want to, but it's the right thing to do"
Riimack shuffled closer to his brother, "but, think about it. Think of all the right she could do by not going to jail." He said softly. "Come on, can't you just let it slide… please?"
Teeslah looked firmly into his brother's eyes, "that's not my place to make that call! The courts will decide her sentence. I have a duty to do, just like you have a duty now."
"But she has a duty now too, just like us." Riimack corrected and saw his logical brother thinking it through, "if you stop her now, you will be stopping her from doing her job, people could suffer, hell, I may need her to survive, but she wouldn't be there if you stopped her now. So what? She can sit in jail for a few years. Come on T, save the courts for real criminals." He pleaded.
The fact that Teeslah didn't respond straight away spoke volumes. His mind awash with the consequences of not acting. What his captain would do if he found out, wondering if it was even possible for his captain to ever find out.
Taalli slowly lowered herself down to the ground as Teeslah was in silent contemplation, and with a paw she guided Mike to her shoulder.
Teeslah's head peered around Riimack's bulk and saw Mike climb up onto her shoulders, he opened his mouth to protest but Riimack moved slightly to block him. "Let her go, she isn't the one you are looking for." Riimack said firmly to his brother, his blue eyes silencing him. "Let's go have lunch in the markets with sis and be a family again."
Teeslah sighed, "captain said I need to have my partner with me when I do policing." He said flatly. "But Jim isn't here." He added when he saw Riimack glance to the departed crowd. "I may have confused her for someone else, but if I see Leena again, I will have to stop her and take her in." He concluded loud enough for Taalli to hear
Taalli drew herself up to her feet and mantled her wings, "I'll see you out there, Taalli. Stay safe, battle sister." Riimack said while not breaking his focus on his brother.
As Teeslah's eyes flicked to Taalli, his silver brother crouched ever so slightly ready to stop him if he tried to go back on his word. With a nod, Teeslah returned his attention back to his brother and saw Riimack relax again.
"Thanks, I'll see you out there." Taalli murmured before turning and launching into the sky with a powerful lunge, her black wing arms extending fully as she quickly powered them away before Teeslah could stop them.
Mike clung to her harness and tightened the straps on his bag before he glanced back. He saw the police dragon look to them before shuffling his wings against his side in defeat and the Silver dragon, Riimack, placed a wing over him.
"We good?" Taalli asked and glanced back at Mike who clung to her shoulders, “No one on our six?" she clarified and he gave her a nod. She turned back to face forwards and relaxed her pace as Mike gently stroked her neck.
"Are you good?" He asked, over the wind. He felt her take a deep breath as if to reply but stayed silent, "Taalli, you good?" He repeated when she didn't respond straight away.
"I'm fine." She lied, flinching when she felt him slump forwards on her neck and wrap both arms around her in a hug. "I just feel like I'm never going to get out of this mess." She muttered, "every time I think I'm free from my father…" she said, her words trailing off in the wind.
Mike gave her a squeeze with his thighs and arms and when she brought a paw up within reach, he held one of her toes and massaged it softly. "It will come good, don't worry. That was just a speed bump." He said, trying to reassure his orange 'ness. “Let's try to put it behind us, You are safe now." he added, even though she nodded he could tell she was unconvinced and let go of her paw before sitting up on her shoulders. "I have something for you that might make you feel better." He said and swung his messenger bag around his shoulders to his front and opened the flap.
Taalli's eyes widened and her heart melted as he withdrew an orange thermos flask from his bag, it's color closely matching the same shade as her scales on a good day, her smile broadening as she saw he must have dipped the bottom quarter in black paint to match her black paws. "That's adorable, I love it!"
Mike smiled, "oh, but that's not the best bit." He added and wiggled the flask, the sounds of the coffee inside making her mouth open in excitement and smile widen. Mike chuckled as he undid the lid and passed it down to her paw.
Taalli reared her head back while she flew and lifted the flask to her mouth and took a sip, giving out a happy warble that made Mike laugh as she enjoyed her coffee. Its contents were only warm, but she didn't care as she drank greedily.
"Better?" He asked and she nodded "This is just the beginning of Taalli day." He teased and when she was finished he reached down to collect the flask from her paw and secure it to her harness.
Taalli smiled and looked back, "and what are we going to do on our first Taalli day?"
"Taalli!" Mike blurted and they both broke out into a giggle. "But, I have a few more surprises for today and tomorrow." He added and looked around the landscape to get his bearings. "That's north right?" He asked and pointed forwards.
Taalli chuckled, "no, that's north." She corrected and nodded her head to their right.
"Okay, we need to go north of the base, there is a shop I want to take you too." He said and leant with her as she turned to correct their course.
"Really?" Taalli asked as she looked at the shop that they both stood awkwardly outside of, despite the nature of its products, the building was painted bright yellow to stand out.
"Yup." Mike said with a smile and leant against her forearm with his hand wrapped around her strong limb.
"But we don't need this. I'm happy with us as we are." She added as she looked at the bold colorful lettering emblazoned across the painted windows of the building, advertising discrete parking around back.
"I was thinking about when we are apart." Mike said and smiled as she tucked her wing against him nervously. "Let's at least take a look."
"I don't know…" Taalli said softly, "it's kinda weird."
Mike chuckled and let go of her arm before taking a step towards the large automatic doors, "well, I'm curious, and it's weirder if I go in while you wait outside. Besides, we can't check into our next surprise for an hour or so." He hinted and turned back to her, his cheeks more flushed then usual as he beckoned her to follow him. "Come on… It could be fun. We don't have to get anything."
Taalli sighed and gave a look up and down the quiet street, the town they had landed at wasn't small, and she hoped no one would recognise her for more than the obvious reasons as she followed Mike into the large dragon themed adult shop.
Taalli's snout went a few shades redder as her eyes adjusted to the light and she saw the rows and rows of various paraphernalia lining the aisles. Feeling slightly out of place she moved quickly up to Mike and pretended to be very interested in the light fixtures.
"Are you two after anything in particular?" Called out a friendly sales drake who was casually wearing a tight vinyl harness that had way too many metal buckles to be practical.
"Nope! No thank-you, no! We are just looking!" Said Taalli a bit too quickly causing Mike to chuckle. The sales drake gave a knowing smile and returned to reading a magazine.
"Oh come on, my treat, What tickles your fancy." Mike teased in a hushed whisper.
Taalli blushed as her mind went to half a dozen dirty remarks. "You said at graduation you wanted to do it in a classroom, but I didn't know you were this open." She teased and stayed close behind him as he picked up an occasional box to read the back.
"Oh, I'm not. But it's fun watching you squirm!" He teased and smiled up at her.
Taalli opened her mouth a few times to say something clever before she swallowed her pride and a mischievous smile pulled at her snout. "It's like that is it? you think i'm uncomfortable?" She mused, not wanting to be out done she stepped past him towards a side aisle dedicated to dragon sized dildos.
Mike went beet red as he saw what the aisle was dedicated to and felt her tail hook behind his waist to encourage him to follow closely, his jaw going slack as he saw that the dildos were proudly on display and arranged in the order of smallest to largest. Starting at modest sized silicone toys and quickly becoming as large as his forearm or larger.
Mike was pulled along with her as she continued to walk up the aisle, occasionally pausing to inspect an exotic looking toy before muttering "too small" and continued down the aisle.
"Okay, now you are being silly." Mike chastised as he caught up to the toys she was now inspecting. Her amber eyes taking their time as she inspected a comically large dildo that was almost as tall as he was. "There is no way you can take that." He added.
Taalli chuckled, "maybe, maybe with enough lube." She teased, "the Womb Raider 64…. That would do it." She mused while trying to keep a straight face.
Mike looked up to her face and saw a hint of a smile pulling at the corner of her mouth. "That will do it, will it? I think they have some rooms that you can try it, if you want to give it a go." He teased and saw her eyes widen.
"That's not a thing, is it?" She asked, and suddenly pulled her paw away from the toy as her bravado faded instantly.
"No, silly. That's not a thing." He teased and moved his hands to her foreleg. "But I'm serious about getting something for when we are apart." He added softly.
Taalli nodded and looked back down the line, using a wing she held him close as she perused the merchandise. "They are just… all out on display." She mused.
"They really are, aren't they?" Mike replied while walking alongside her. "Have you had one before?"
"Yes Michael." She said and gave him a smile, "I had one back home. But I ordered it online, I even pretended to be sick when it got delivered so my mother wouldn't see it." Her voice just above a whisper.
"Well, did you want one just like it?" Mike asked, he knew the prices were not insignificant, but mattered little to him as he watched her eye each one. He remembered Ben's words of wisdom, It wouldn't matter the size or shape she gets, but shopping with him would be the memory she would never let go of when she used it.
"Maybe…" she mused as she inspected a smooth tapered dildo that boasted slick entry and a mind shattering orgasm on its box, along with a slutty dragoness.
"Where are we going after this?" She asked as she put the box down and picked up another, this one complete with a knot, quickly placing it back when she saw the rubbery barbs running its length, images of Jeenik's member still ingrained in her mind from the incident in the shower, even though it happened weeks ago.
Mike stroked her forearm, "it's a surprise. But there is no one else. No family, no military. Just you, me, and-" he stepped towards and picked up a long box, it's weight surprising him. "And the Vent Violator 9000!"
Taalli blurted a laugh, "nah, the 9001 is better, they got it right that time." She added and they both giggled.
"There are just so many." Taalli said to herself as she continued her search, a smile pulling at her snout as she saw a long fake phallus that had a blue contoured shaft completed with twin blue lobes that formed a formidable knot, all emerging from a sparkly silver scaled slit. Its colors reminded her of a certain dragon at the academy and made a mental note to bring it up next time she saw him. If she would ever see him again, she mused. Now that they would be going to separate training schools to become specialized in their different combat roles it was unlikely they would see each other except maybe when deployed.
"The blue ball blast." Mike said as he followed her gaze to the silver and blue dildo. "Sounds like a sports drink."
Taalli chuckled softly, "kinda does, doesn't it. Not for anal play, well that's a shame isn't it" She mused with a smile to a speechless Mike and moved further down the aisle towards the more approachable toys.
"Oh my!" Taalli gasped and snatched up a box and sat on her haunches to inspect it, turning it over again as she read the description and looked to Mike, her gaze drifting to his waist and then snapping back to the box.
"What have you found?" He said with a playful sigh and saw her smile broadening. She turned to face him and he chuckled at her playful expression as she held it close to her chest before presenting it to him.
"Yeah?" He asked as he took the box from her and looked through the transparent window at the long dong inside. He raised an eyebrow and looked up to her, her eyes wide as she nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, alright. I'm keen." He said happily.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your graduation." Reevian said sadly as they all sat around a table in the eastern markets, "I was busy with… something else." She said, her bloodshot eyes the only evidence of her last argument with the yellow drake she had just broken up with.
Riimack's mouth was full of noodles as he tried to speak, "ifallgawdf" swallowing, he repeated, "it's all good. It was just a lot of bands playing and clapping. Wasn't it Teeslah?" He said and looked to his older brother who was still wound up from the interaction with Taalli.
"There was other things." Teeslah muttered. "Hey! That's my tail." He added as Riimack firmly swiped his long tail into his brother's.
"Either way, congratulations." Reevian said with a smile, "it's good to see you again. Even if it's for a day and a bit." Riimack was stuffing his snout with noodles as she sighed happily, seeing her little brother eating well made her chest swell with pride. For now, she was content with savoring the moment of her family being back together once again, even if it was only temporary. Her mind drifting back to the argument she had with her now ex about starting a family but shook the thought from her mind, wanting to focus on the present company instead of what would never be. "So, surveillance training hey?" She asked as Riimack finished his mouthful, "trying to become a spy are you?"
Riimack smiled, "I wish, think of it more as, I fly above the battlefield, out of harm's way and relay information down to those on the ground."
Reevian felt slightly more relieved at the idea of him gliding high in the sky rather than on the front lines. "That doesn't sound too bad. So, do you get any time off during training?" She asked and picked at her own noodles.
Riimack nodded enthusiastically, "we get the holidays off, veterans Day, thanksgiving and the others. So don't worry, I'm gonna be back for seconds!" He said and picked up a greedy mouthful of noodles in his jaws, the sauce dripping from the long strands and staining his silver scales.
Teeslah eyed Riimack with a look of disgust at his younger brother's poor table manners, he opened his mouth to chastise his sibling but stopped as a familiar human wearing a blue uniform approached the table, "oh, hi Jim! What are you doing here?" Teeslah asked and glared at Riimack who swallowed quickly.
"Hey, someone has to do patrols." Jim teased and looked at the large piles of noodles and then back to his dragon partner. "I couldn't help but notice that Michael isn't working at the bar today, I wonder if he is off with Leena." Jim said with a raised eyebrow.
Teeslah glanced to his brother and saw the firm expression on Riimack's and Reevian's faces. "About that." Teeslah started, pausing when he saw Riimack stop chewing. "Turns out he isn't with Leena anymore and has a new dragoness. That's the one who I could smell." He said finally.
