Teenage Troubles: Chapter 3
Chapter 319 Mourn Street, City of 'Fait'4:01 PM, 31st of MarchLyall's door bell rang; it told him to stop hiding away from everything because he was starting to be pathetic, but it mostly told him to answer the door. Dressed in nothing but a pair of orange and blue boxers, he danced about on the cold floorboards as if they were hotter than the inside of an oven in order to get to the front door. He didn't bother checking who was knocking by looking through the peep hole, if they were there to kidnap him they'd certainly be taking Lyall to a place that was better than his own home. Maybe it was the memories, but Lyall never felt safe or happy when he was anywhere except his room.Lyall opened the steel door and saw a tall fox looking at him."What?" Lyall scowled, trying to get the fox to leave as soon as he'd said what he needed to. He wasn't in the mood for conversation, he never was. Despite Lyall's un-welcoming greeting, the fox wasn't phased at all. "Hi, your name's Lyall isn't it?" The fox asked and held up some paper. 'Better than his forepaw...' Lyall thought. The vulpine attempted to give the contents of his forepaw to Lyall, who rejected the bundle without much thought. "I don't want to convert." Lyall spat, slamming the door shut on the fox..But it didn't turn out how Lyall wanted it to. The fox had quick reactions and stuck out his paw to stop the door from closing. "I'm not religious. I swear down. I don't believe in evangelism." The fox explained, looking through the gap. "Our History teacher set this homework." He the stuck the pieces of paper through the gap and waved them. "See? It's all about before The Great War." Lyall snatched them out of the fox's brunette forepaws. "Thanks." He said trying not to show any kind of emotion towards the fox. Lyall kicked the fox's paw to get him to move it back, so that he could close the door and go back to his isolation. Once again, Lyall failed. The fox chose to ignore the weak kick, "Could I come in for a second?" The fox requested. "Our teacher said that it would be easier to work as a grou-""No. Go away!" Lyall cried, terrified by the thought of having to speak to somefur like the fox. He knew his name, he'd seen him around as well. He hated him with a passion, along with every other jock and every frat boy, every pop girl and every social group that wasn't his own. In all honestly, Lyall didn't have a social group, he just didn't belong in any of them. He wasn't sporty and he hated pop music, he couldn't play any instruments nor did he have any talents and performing in front of large crowds scared him to death. But anything that involved thinking was
Lyall's subject. "Lyall. This is pathetic, open the door." The fox commanded, his body language, facial expression and tone of voice changing to become serious and angry. He sounded like a parent who was speaking to a cub that had locked themselves in the bathroom. "How do you know my name!?" Lyall whined, pushing on the door with all his might (which wasn't much at all.)"You go to my school Lyall!" The fox explained, "You must know my name as well!" "No I don't! I don't know you! Go away!" Lyall demanded further, pushing against the door with all of his weight. "Fuck it..." The canine cussed under his breath. It happened too fast for Lyall to understand, one second he was standing up and the fox was outside, the next he was flat on his ass and the fox was inside of the house. "Sorry." The fox apologized, closing the door and holding out a forepaw for Lyall to take. Lyall slapped his forepaw away and scampered up onto his paws. "Leave now!" Lyall commanded like a military sergeant with his face straining as much as possible. He immediately started shoving the fox, but the sturdy canine stood tall and didn't budge an inch, he didn't even flinch. "I don't want to. I think I'm going to stay here until you tell me why you haven't be at school." The fox said stubbornly, he crossed his arms and stood still. "It would be useful to have my history partner in school, we do have to work together on the next project you know." The fox lied. Despite the obvious false fact, made clear by the fox's tone of voice, Lyall believed him. Yet still he refused to give in and surrender to the fox's demand.Lyall gave up trying to reason with the fox and started marching towards the phone that was resting on a small table just in front of the bottom of the stairs. He picked it up, "Do I need to call the police?" Lyall threatened, brandishing the phone like a gun. He waved it once more as if it would scare him away. "Go ahead." There was a blank expression covering the fox's face, but even he didn't want to get the police involved. He hoped that by playing it cool and calm, Lyall wouldn't do it. Lyall looked at the fox's visage to see if he was afraid, there no signs of falter. Lyall punched in the three numbers and let his thumb hover over the dial button, "Leave." Lyall commanded one last time."If you truly thought that I was going to do anything dangerous, you would have called the police and I would have done something already. Also, you don't care that I'm in here, do you? You opened the door without even looking." The vulpine smirked and crossed his arms. Busted. The fox had pulled apart and put him back together in seconds. Lyall cancelled the call and put down the phone. "Let me guess. Psychology is one of the subjects you study in school?" Lyall asked, he sounded disappointed, but also impressed."That along with P.E, history and geography." The fox added. "What subjects did you take?" 'Small talk, is he trying to get something from me?', Lyall questioned himself. Despite his trepidations, Lyall decided that he'd let the small talk continue, but he'd cull it if turned to blarney; or anything else for that matter."History, philosophy, psychology and computing, But I don't turn up to philosophy a lot. It's boring." Lyall turned up his nose, trying to seem cool."Well since you've avoided school for the past two days, I'm not surprised." The fox joked."Would you like to come in?" Lyall asked, amused by the fox's sense of humor."Am I not already in the house?" The fox asked, he smiled at Lyall which felt strange. Nevertheless Lyall started to trust the fox, despite the fact he'd broken in.Lyall allowed the fox to walk past him and into the living room, but mostly because he wanted to get a good look at the fox from all angles. The fox's fur was orange, brown and white. His chin and chest were white as was the tip of his bushy tail. His forepaws, paws and ears were brown. His face, back, arms and legs were a bright orange color. He had a decent sense of fashion, he wore loose blue jeans and a cyan shirt that hugged his body closely. Lyall didn't notice him kicking off his converse trainers. "This is a nice house." The fox said, "Well, the entryway is nice."Although Lyall liked what the fox was wearing, he was more into the fox's body. 'Damn he's sexy.' a part of Lyall's brain thought, but Lyall ignored the thoughts like those and pushed them to a dark corner in his brain. The nightmare from yesterday still weighed heavily on his mind, though he had to admit, the fox had a comely body. Even with the barrier of clothes he wore, Lyall could tell that the fur who got to mate with the fox would be lucky indeed. Hell, he probably already had a girlfriend; maybe two and he must have lost his virginity by then. "What's your name?" Lyall asked, as he stared at the fox's rump. It was voluptuous and curved, especially for a male of his age. It was something that Lyall would love to hold whilst he cuddled and made out with his mate. "Max. Max Vaughn. I'd ask for yours, but I already know it." Max answered politely. "That's not creepy at all." Lyall joked, but Max didn't seem to pick up on the joke too well."You have a strange name. I like it." Max said, Lyall was confused about if he should take it as
an insult or a complement. "Thanks?" The two of them chuckled to each other and sat on opposite ends of the sofa.Lyall hated the way his parents had decorated the living room and the rest of the house for that matter. The light brown floor boards were bad enough, but the chocolate colored walls had the power to make Lyall sick whenever he looked over at them. The flat screen TV had been pushed back against the wall, but because the living room, entryway and stairway were all in the same room, the space between the TV and the sofa was tremendous. "It's not that bad." Max complimented as if he'd read Lyall's mind.To fill the gap there was a mat that bore the Vedish flag, a basic pattern that was used everyday. It was a H, but all of the lines had been stretched, so that they ran off of the mat. The colors were red and black, a red background with three black lines. Lyall's parents and his little sister would use the mat for prayers and other religious things that Lyall had grown sick of. Although there was already a dining room in the Morrigan's home, a small dinner table for four had been set up in the far corner of the room. Just like the rest of the wood in the house, it was a dull brown color. Sitting on the table there was 12 candles, two of the candles had been burnt down to their wax components, yet they hadn't been replaced or removed from the table. The third had already been burnt down almost entirely, a few more seconds of burning would melt it entirely. Dotted around the room, there were various cabinets filled with books (five copies of the bible), newspapers, DVDs and some crap that Lyall's family had stuffed into the cupboards in order to 'tidy up the room.'"So. Are you going to explain why you actually came here?" Lyall asked. Max rubbed his chin before answering. "You know why I came here. I came here to give you that homework.""Yes you did. But that isn't your only motive, is it?""Psychology?" Max asked. Lyall nodded in response to the question. "Well. We have a project coming up on that homework, so I just thought that you'd want to know about it." Max explained. "And I thought that we could work together on it. Everyfur else is kind of boring when it comes to history projects." Max explained.Lyall gave Max the stink eye, once again he didn't believe that Max had shared everything he knew. "Okay you got me." Max chuckled. "I was worried about you, since you haven't turned up to school lately. Why is that?" Max answered."Really? You're concerned and it's only been two days and we don't know each other.""Still. You didn't give a reason, so what is it?" Max asked. Lyall sighed, but anxiously answered Max's question."I've just been having bad dreams lately. I'm worried
about shit. Furs on my bus are pricks and well... I just don't care about school anymore. That and my parents." Lyall answered. Max quickly picked out the worst of Lyall's issues."What have your parents done?" Max asked curiously."What haven't they done?" Lyall chuckled, but soon caught Max's serious expression. "They've just been saying shit since I've been born. I wouldn't be surprised if a pastor replaced the mid-wife during my birth." Lyall smirked at his joke, but Max didn't really understand Lyall's rebellious sense of humor. "Like what?"Lyall coughed to put on a deeper, serious tone, noticing that Max wasn't playing around. "Well... at first it was just. Just, normal stuff. Their own opinions, my sister and I weren't forced to listen to it at all, but something happened at our church. My dad was the pastor there and he's really religious, he was back then as well. A ferret, a ferret at our church came out half way through a congregation. Every fur was happy for him, except for my dad. He flipped out and threw the poor guy out on his ass before any of us had time to react. Then my dad devoted half an hour of every congregation to homophobic preaching." Lyall delineated. It was a lot to take in for Max at once, but he understood most of what Lyall was saying. "And what about the ferret?" Max asked."Suicide." Lyall muttered under his breath. Max felt his heart sink, despite the fact that he'd never met the ferret."How old were you when this started?" Max asked, intrigue filling his voice."Six? Seven? One of those." Lyall answered."And this bothers you because you're gay as well?" Max asked.Lyall panicked, worried that his new friend might be put off if he even suggested that he was anything other than straight."N-no!" He stammered. "I'm not gay." Lyall said. Max looked as if he didn't really believe Lyall."I'm sorry that I asked." Max apologized after a moment of silence. A wave of relief rolled over Lyall and he found it easier to relax."I forgive you. Just don't ask again, it gets annoying." Lyall mumbled awkwardly.Max had put doubts into Lyall's head, which was something Lyall didn't need more of. "Do you want to watch a movie?" Lyall asked. "Unless you need to go home or something." Lyall quickly added."Sure, my folks won't mind if I stay out of the house for a while. Do you mind if I use the phone to call them?""Go ahead Max. Number first, then green button. Hang up with the red one.""Thanks. You can pick the movie." Max smiled, shooting up from the couch and walking down the hallway to use the phone. "Hey mom, is it alright if I stay over my friends house?" Max asked, his voice became muffled as Lyall sluggishly got
off of and dug through the cabinets until he found a movie. He picked out, 'Landslide' a horror movie that he bought ages ago, but never watched. Now might be a good time to bust it out and prove his masculinity, he thought. Lyall hoped that the movie wouldn't be too scary, the last thing he wanted to do was scream in terror in front of a friend.Lyall put the movie in and skipped past the title screen until he got to the start of the film. He saw a black cat sitting in the back of a taxi, staring out of the window. The fur was a female and looked like a complete slut. He heard Max moving back into the room with his forepaw over the phone to stop it from picking up sound, "Err. Lyall, is it alright if I stay the night?" Max asked. "My parents won't be able to pick me up if I watch the movie and I can't walk back since the blocks around where I live are a little rough." Max explained.Lyall's heart skipped a beat and he forced himself not to smile. "Yeah it's alright." He answered, forgetting that his parents and little sister's rooms were locked, so Max had no where reasonable to sleep. Max walked back out into the hallway to put the phone down after he had given his mom an answer. He then came back into the room a second time and sat down, closer to Lyall this time."Let's watch it then." Max said, leaning against the arm of the sofa with his feet in the middle of it. Lyall did the same, but felt uncomfortable, so he scrunched up his legs more and snuggled up to the arm of chair. He turned on the film and just like all movies, it started slowly. The cat headed into a spa, plot twist, plot twist blah blah blah. If this was a horror flick, it was certainly planning on going slowly. For one, the only character close to looking like a killer was the fox who was now leading the cat upstairs to a massage room. Lyall quickly skipped ahead before Max lost interest, Max seemed bothered by the skipping. When Lyall stopped fast forwarding, there was the video of a horse fucking the cat from before. "Shit!" Lyall cried, covering his eyes and looking away. The room was filled with the sounds of gay porn, "Dude!" Max laughed, not bothered by it all. Lyall however, was worried to death. For one, he was at half mast in his pants and whenever he looked at the fox he could only think of Max. Lyall paused the movie, "Can you turn it off?" Lyall asked. "I don't think I ever want to look up again." He laughed, telling his boner to go down with his mind.He heard Max do as he was told and five seconds later, Max was reading the disk too him "This movie's name is 'Please', and it's an eighteen plus. Warning: Gay relationships and sex contained within the
movie. Do NOT view if either of these offends or disturbs you." Max stopped."I'm so sorry!" Lyall said, attempting to sound amused rather than disturbed."It's alright.""I'll find another horror movie. My sister must have been messing around with the discs, but that still doesn't explain why there's gay porn in the house." Lyall said. He got up and took the disc from Max, he put it into the case and shoved it to the back of the cupboard. He then picked out the case that said 'Please', surely enough there was the 'Landslide' disc in it. Lyall put the disc in and started the movie, hoping that he wouldn't see gay porn again, well at least until Max had gone home. Thanks for reading! As always please tell me if you find any mistakes! ^_^Story © Kalebthecat
