Hoenn Travelogue Chapter One: In Deep

Something a little different, and a bit of a return to my roots in furry writing, in a way - I started out writing fanfiction for various things, Pokemon included. Mostly I stick to original works these days, but sometimes when I need a bump in creativity I'll come up with concepts like this one and write them for myself.

I like this one, though, and figured I'd share it for once. Who knows - if there's enough interest I may actually work on the second chapter and carry it on. We'll see!

If you enjoyed this, please consider buying me a Ko-Fi? I'm over at https://ko-fi.com/L3L367U6 - thanks!

“…come to Good Morning Slateport, your news and weather for the beautiful Slateport City region! It's 9:01 on a beautiful Tuesday morning… if you're still in bed, well, look outside – you're missing a great day!"

It was good, I supposed as I rolled over to slap vainly at the 'off' button on the clock radio, to know that no matter where I traveled the radio stations were still giving annoying, chipper morning people someplace to ply their trade. I just wished they wouldn't put them on the air.

A heavy paw thumped down on the radio, cutting off a commercial for the latest Hyper Potion brand as I flailed at it, then batted at my hand. I sprawled back onto the bed and yawned massively as the springs creaked and the bed bowed slightly to one side. “Thanks, Tess," I mumbled, moving over to give my Luxray room to settle on her belly. She rumbled lightly with amusement and thumped at my ribs with her paw. “Okay, okay, I'll get up… in a few minutes. Whoa!"

The thing with being a trainer to a Luxray or any of the other substantially-sized Pokemon – especially the kind of trainer that mostly kept their Pokemon out of their Pokeballs – is that when they want you to get out of bed, you get out of bed. In this case, Tess just shoved her head and paw under my side and heaved me, sheets and all, off the far side of the bed and onto the floor. I landed with a thump amid a mess of blankets, and – after finding an opening in them – glared up at the smirking feline peering over the edge at me. “One day I'm going to have to teach you some manners…"

Oh well, there was nothing to it but get on my way. I dragged myself upright and flipped the sheets over Tess, who had claimed the bed as her territory; while she untangled herself, I headed for the shower to start my fourth day in the lovely region of Hoenn.

I hadn't planned to spend this much time in Slateport upon our arrival in Hoenn, but after discovering I suffered from seasickness three days out of Canalave and spending four days green and miserable in my cabin until we finally landed I had needed some recuperation time before striking out into the countryside. Thankfully, I had tracked down a hotel close to the port that didn't mind free Pokemon, and a day or so flat on my back on a surface that didn't move helped a lot. But then it had rained. A lot. For, like, two days straight.

But today was beautiful. I smiled at the desk clerk as I paid my bill, shouldered my oversized pack, and strode out into the crisp, cool air. It smelled of fresh grass, new experiences, and … bacon.

“Who wants breakfast?"

I got twin agreements: Tess purred almost loud enough to set off seismographs over in Johto, and the small green-and-multicolored ball of feathers perched on my shoulder chirruped a cheerful agreement. “It's unanimous," I said, ruffling the feathers of Tico, my little Natu, who fluffed up and rewarded me with a quick song before settling back down again. Well, that was an easy start to the quest. I pointed us all towards that lovely scent of fried food. We'd be eating rough for a few days – it was worth it to have a good meal before striking out, right?

Slateport was a good-sized city, and it was a popular base point for trainers looking to delve deeper into the hinterland. I stood at the northern edge of town and looked over the map I'd picked up from the library, scratching my chin, while Tess carefully groomed a forepaw next to me.

“Okay… it looks like we've got a couple options – we can go north and then pick a direction, either west into the interior or east to follow the ocean up to another city. Looks like the turnoff's most of the day's walk north, so let's get going, huh?"

Tess looked up and gave a low “rrrray" of approval at my decision, while Tico chirped, then settled and promptly fell asleep. I chuckled as we strode past the city limits sign, and turned around to get a quick snapshot of it with my little point-and-shoot camera. It was a significant moment, after all – the start of my second Pokemon adventure.

Truth be told, it was hardly necessary for me to be out here, roughing it once again, capturing Pokemon, battling trainers. I had done the whole routine once before, back home in Sinnoh. It was the usual rite of passage for new trainers – strike out from home with a single Pokemon, learn how to train them and work with them, compete against the Elite Four and make an attempt at the Pokemon League… Most are unsuccessful, of course, I mused as we walked leisurely along, avoiding occasional cyclists heading for the Cycling Road that branched off of Route 110.

Most trainers might capture a few Pokemon and learn to work with them to their best abilities, but never find the spark, the fire that drives the true successful trainer to greatness. They stop along the way and settle in one of the small cities or towns that strikes their fancy, train their few Pokemon, battle occasionally – enough to keep in practice and maybe earn a small living – and life slowly takes back over. They grow up, get married, find a job, and that's that.

Me? I made it. I caught some Pokemon – starting off with a Cyndaquil, I'd quickly amassed a small team and developed a training style that was somewhat different. I'd discovered that working with the Pokemon, training with them instead of simply teaching them, unlocked their skills and tied us closely together as we all grew in our abilities. Those bonds had succeeded far better than I'd ever imagined. Gym Leader after Gym Leader had praised my training skills as they handed over Gym Badges, and soon I had found myself with a powerful team and the entrance to the Pokemon League in front of me.

The Elite Four had been nothing… but the champion had clobbered me. I had no idea how, at the time, but I had gone away determined to not let it crush me like it had crushed so many trainers before. My team and I had trained, fought, and regained our confidence, and a year later I had once again made my way through the Four – only to bounce off the new Champion once again. But on my third try – I had made it. I was Champion of the Sinnoh Pokemon League.

I smiled at the recollection. For a year and more I had reigned at the top of the League, and when I eventually had been beaten by a young and skilled trainer I had turned to training again, this time using my skills to teach younger trainers. A section on Jubilife TV, a couple of books, some radio work – it was smooth sailing for eight years, before the urge to travel struck again.

So that was how I found myself on the road again. A steamship ticket to Hoenn was an easy purchase, and a friend of mine with a Pokemon ranch near Solaceon had been absolutely thrilled to take my team for breeding purposes, and he'd even given me little Tico as a going-away present. Tess (Tesla, actually: I had named her just after catching her as a Shinx, and before picking her up to check the plumbing) I had brought along as she was – compared to the rest of my crew – still young and learning. Plus, a well-trained Luxray was a good way to avoid having upstart trainers waste my time.

I ruffled a hand through my friend's mane, and she rumbled pleasantly in return. “Quiet so far, huh, guys?" I said softly as I regarded the thin traffic on the path. “Maybe everyone's…"

“Hey, you!"

Tess snorted. “Yeah, I spoke too soon." I turned to face the voice. Yep, recognized the type – mid-teens, probably been training for a couple of years, and slow to develop his skills and those of his Pokemon. “Can I help you?"

The young fellow pointed. “I challenge you to a battle!"

I looked him over, then looked down at Tess, who gave a slight shrug and settled onto her haunches. “We're trainers, so of course I'm happy to oblige." I pulled two Pokeballs off of my belt – one of them painted a deep blue and the other multicolored – and drew Tess and Tico into them. I always hated to do that, but it was the formality of the thing. “Ready when you are."

He whipped a ball off of his belt – one of two, I noticed – and tossed it. “Go, Mankey!" Sure enough, the fighting-type materialized in the path, thumping its fists and grumbling as it eyed me. I smiled, and held out the multicolored ball. Tico emerged from its red beam, and fluttered lightly above the surface – he did hate to get dust in his feathers.

The trainer sneered. “That little bird's your choice? This will be easy."

“You haven't gone far out of Hoenn, have you?" I replied, taking a seat at the edge of the path – much to his surprise. “Anyhow, go ahead."

“Bah! Mankey, fire punch!" Not a bad move for that level of Mankey, but not spectacular, I mused. Tico peeked back at me, and I replied with a hand signal – three fingers and flicked to the left. He nodded and, as the Mankey lunged with its punch, delicately dipped to the left out of the path of that blazing fist.

“Now, Tico," I called. The little Natu chirruped and glowed purple for a moment, then released the Psychic attack, which caught the fighting-type hard and left it staggered as its mind was messed with rather effectively.

“What? A psychic? Damn!" the trainer grumbled. “Mankey, tackle!"

I motioned to Tico again – two fingers – and he dove around the charging ball of angry, then spun in the air. As the Mankey turned around, my Natu locked gazes, and Tico whistled softly. The Mankey's eyes blinked once, twice… then fluttered closed and it fell over to the side, snoring softly. “Nice one," I praised as Tico fluttered over his opponent. “Quick attack."

“H-hey!" the other trainer said as Tico whirled and smacked the Mankey good and hard with a diving strike. It rolled back to its master, who grudgingly pulled it back into its Pokeball and thumbed out another one. “I'll show you!" he growled, snapping his arm forward. “Vigoroth! Take that thing out!"

Now this was a new one for me. The sloth-looking creature materialized, and I was fairly sure it was going to be a problem for Tico, who fluttered back and eyed it just as much as I was. This time I signaled with a single finger to my Pokemon, who rose a little higher and flapped his wings hard, generating a Gust attack. I watched the little tornado as it flashed across and slammed against the Vigoroth, which staggered a little but didn't look otherwise too affected.

“Fury swipes!" its trainer roared. The Vigoroth charged, its big claws flailing ahead of it as it slashed at my Natu, who dove and dodged as much as he could, still taking a few clipping shots as it went along. This was definitely not going to work, I decided.

“Come on back, Tico." The bird looked grateful as he was drawn back into his Pokeball.

“Too much for ya, huh?" the other trainer sneered as I pulled my other ball off my belt.

“Would you like a quick lesson from a veteran, friend? Don't ever get too comfortable in a Pokemon battle." I smiled at the other trainer's sneer even as I activated the ball and Tess materialized again. I don't think my new friend had gotten a good look at her, but now he got a good look and frowned.

“That's a … what is that, anyhow? … Never mind. Hidden Power!" he shouted. The Vigoroth flexed, and a pulse of energy burst from it.

Tess backpedaled but grunted as the blow struck, and shook her head. When she opened her eyes, I saw they had changed from their usual amber to the swirling multicolors that indicated she was not a happy cat. She glanced at me as if to ask how long she should let things go, and I shrugged in return. Her muzzle cracked in a little grin, and she turned to look at her opponent, who looked to be winding up for another Fury Swipes attack. I almost felt sorry for it as her tail raised, the star on its tip starting to glow.

The Vigoroth was almost at full speed when Tess planted her feet and glowed yellow; the energy flashed through her body and gathered in her tailtip, only to lash straight out at the oncoming Pokemon and slam into it with a crackling jolt. The Thunderbolt attack rippled through it for a good second before dissipating, and I saw wisps of smoke rising from the Vigoroth before it slowly toppled over onto its face.

“Gah!" Its trainer quickly recalled it, and turned to face me – or, rather, Tess, who was looking smug as she groomed her chest. “What…"

“She's a Luxray. You might want to look over the Pokedex entries from other regions some time," I said, walking over to him. “And she's substantially more experienced than your two. You probably should have noticed that as well, and made a request that she not fight."

He blinked at me. “Uh… I never thought of that." He fumbled in a pocket and came out with a handful of cash.

I pushed it back towards him. “Don't worry about that. Tell you what. Go buy a book with that money. It's called 'Two in Training: Working Together To Improve Your Pokemon," by Adam Caraway. I think you might find it interesting."

“Uh… sure, thanks. I, uh… gotta head for a Pokemon Center…"

Tess and I watched him scurry off while a small crowd that had gathered applauded, then dispersed. I thumbed Tico's ball off my belt and let him back out; he landed on Tess's head and chirruped at her inquisitively, then flapped his wings as she recapped the match in a couple of low growls – or at least I'm fairly sure that was what she was doing; she understood far, far more human than I did Pokemon. “If you two are finished gossiping, we've still got a ways to travel…" I suggested, dusting them each with a potion to clear up the light bruising from the fight and motioning down the trail.

Word spread about my fight, I think, and for the rest of the morning we went unmolested. I think morning coffees were starting to sink in and people were actually looking at the oversized cat walking next to me before reaching for their Pokeballs, which both helped and hurt somewhat – a few battles here and there would have been appreciated to allow me to work more with Tico, but my legs needed the stretch too.

But just after noon we reached the expected fork in the road, and stopped to consider our options. I set down a portion of travel rations for Tess and held a handful of birdfood for Tico to peck at, peering at the map. “Okay, so we have two options here, team," I said, ignoring the occasional odd look from passing trainers. “There's a path that runs up along the oceanfront, looks like on foot it's a couple, three days up to the next city. Or we can go west here and head for Petalburg."

Tess pondered, turning her head back and forth, then nudged my leg with her shoulder and motioned with her muzzle to the northeast, along the route that the ocean route would follow. I looked where she was pointing, and winced as the storm clouds hanging over the ocean and heading inland became obvious. “Inland it is!"

Route 103 turned out to be fairly quiet – or quieter than the main drag, at least; I realized that most people were probably sticking to the coast road, or heading for the Cycling Road to make their way much faster up the coast. A trainer or two were visible along the way, and I picked up a couple of one-on-one battles for Tico that were fairly even. My little guy almost lost one of them, but managed to sneak in a Psychic strike on the Grovyle he was fighting. Thus, by the time the light started to wane for the evening, I had a slightly footsore Luxray and a full-of-himself Natu on my hands.

After so much time on the road, I had learned the most efficient way to set up a camp and by the time it was full dark I had picked a good campsite well off the trail and had a tent up, with a cheerful fire burning. I set a teapot up on a rock next to the fire and sat, happily toasting a wiener over the fire as Tico chirped along to the quiet strains of music on my little radio and Tess sprawled on her side, warming her belly and paws.

It was probably the happiest I'd been in ages. No publishers calling about book deadlines, no reporters asking me to comment on the latest Pokemon-related story, nobody calling to try and convince me to fight them for a huge payday… just me, a couple of good Pokemon – and friends – and the road. I doubted there was another trainer within five kilometres, and I didn't mind that a bit.

We had a quiet evening; I wrote a little bit then worked with Tico some to develop his skills – he could peck okay, but I wanted to upgrade that skill to Drill Peck some time soon for a little extra oomph – and generally slobbed around the fire and watched the stars drift by overhead.

All of that relaxation was probably why we all reacted with such shock when the lightning struck nearby.

I fell backwards off of my log, Tess damn near wound up in the fire, and Tico launched himself straight up into the trees with a skree of panic as the powerful flash of light and massive roll of thunder crashed through the camp. I scrambled back to my feet, looking around frantically, and realized that there were clouds blotting out the stars. “Dammit, I think we're going to get some rain," I muttered to my Luxray, who resembled an oversized blue fluffball with all of her fur raised in surprise. Tess growled something that I'm sure wasn't pleasant.

“Tico! Where'd you get to, buddy?" I looked up into the trees, pulling a flashlight out of my pack and shining it around as I called for my Natu. There was no sign of him, and I looked at Tess with worry. “I think he spooked."

She grumbled and shook herself, smoothing her fur down a little more, then raised her nose and snuffled the breeze. Her ears perked, and her tail twitched as she caught a scent, and looked at me. “Go, make sure he's okay, I'll be right behind you." Tess nodded and loped off into the dark, her nose raised.

I followed a little more slowly, flashlight out as I tried to keep an eye on the little shining glint that was Tess's tail star ahead of me while dodging stumps, saplings, and all the other stuff that makes nature so pretty but so annoying to try and run a 100-metre dash over. “Tico! C'mon back, buddy, it's okay…" I called out. “It's safe, nothing to…"

When the glint of Tess's tail star suddenly disappeared, I thought she had hopped behind a tree. The muffled yowl of pain that followed it made my heart nearly stop.

I dashed forward, tripping over a log along the way, and skidded to a stop at the edge of a steep-sided gully that came nearly out of nowhere. “Tess?" I called frantically, leaning over to look down into the gap. A quiet mewl rose from the deep gully, and I guided my flashlight down towards it. Tess's eyes glinted back at me, and I started breathing again. “Are you okay? Can you climb back up?" When she shook her head, I groaned. “Okay, okay… I'm going to go back and grab a rope. Listen for me and make some noise so I can get back, all right?" She rumbled pained assent, and I rushed back towards the dull glow of my fire.

I had thought ahead and stuck a couple of ropes into my pack before we left; I grabbed a coil, snatching a potion up as well, and stumbled my way back towards the gully, calling and following Tess's voice until I had returned to her. One end of the rope tied around a tree, I wrapped the other end through my belt and tied it tight before slowly making my way down the steep bank of the old creekwash. “Hold steady, girl, I'll be right there…" I said as I climbed carefully down.

Unfortunately, I'm not very good at estimating depth down a steep slope, because I was still about eight feet above the bottom of the creekbed and my Luxray when I ran out of rope. “Aw, hell." I looked down at Tess, who was sitting with one hindpaw cocked out to the side, then back up. “Yeah… that wasn't thought through so well. Okay…"

I did the only thing I could think of at that moment – I reached down and undid my belt, letting the rope slip out, and dropped the rest of the way down, grunting with the impact. Tess was up on her feet and to me instantly. I dropped and hugged her close. “Glad you're okay, girl. Now, here…"

She relaxed noticeably as I emptied the potion onto her hind leg, and tested her weight, wincing and still limping somewhat, but moving a little better. Then she looked up the side of the gully and back at me querulously.

“Yeah, I wasn't thinking straight. I think our best bet is this… I'll hoist you up, and you can climb out – just grab the rope in your mouth and use your claws to pull yourself up. Then go back to camp and bring that other coil of rope back, and drop it down to me, then cut the other one at the top so it drops down to me… I'll tie them together, toss one end back up to you, and you can pull me up."

Her look was somewhat skeptical. “Trust me," I said, rubbing her head. “Okay?" The Luxray nodded. “Good. Now hop up there." I leaned down and held my hands out for her to step into. She carefully climbed me – starting with one paw on my hands, planting one on a shoulder, then moving upward; I snuffled as her belly rubbed over my face until she had both hindpaws on my shoulders. They lurched upwards suddenly, and I looked up to watch as she dragged herself up, paws digging into the roots and grass that stippled the creekside.

I think both of us breathed easier as she gained the clifftop and pulled herself up. Then the rain started to fall, and I groaned. “Make it quick, Tess, if it rains too hard this creekbed might fill up again…' She nodded down at me in the beam of my flashlight, and disappeared. I sighed, relaxing a little now that she was all right. Tico, now… he and I were going to have words once I got out of there.

The rain was light, thankfully – my worries of a sudden flash flood were eased – and I waited patiently, keeping the lens of my light from getting too damp. The hiss of rain was steady, and it took a few moments before I realized that the hiss was actually coming in two tones. That didn't sound good at all.

I scanned my light around the narrow gully carefully, and blinked as the night blinked back at me. A pair of red eyes gleamed in the light, and as I focused in I realized that I had company – unexpected company, considering the location. My guides had not indicated that this was Seviper country.

The snake Pokemon slowly slithered towards me, and I froze as its eyes locked onto mine. Those huge fangs looked about a mile long as the Poison-type moved to within 20 feet or so of me, eyes gleaming hungrily and a quiet 'ssssss' emitting as its tongue flickered out malevolently. “Uh, Tess," I called out. “Hurry up, please… got some trouble down here…"

I was surprised as something thumped in front of me, jumping back a bit; thankfully, the Seviper did the same thing, and I quickly lashed out to grab my pack and drag it closer. Tess yowled down from the gully edge, and the Seviper swung its head up to glare at the Luxray peeking down, then turned back to me – obviously, it figured it was going for a real score for lunch… I grabbed inside my pack's outside flap to where my various concoctions were usually at, intending to grab a Repel and dump it right in the snake's face, but it was empty. Tess, I realized with a groan, hadn't been able to get the rope out – it was in the main compartment, which was tied tight, so had emptied everything else she could to reduce its weight.

So all I had to defend myself from a hungry snake with a razor tail, giant fangs and killer poison was my pack. I growled and raised it to bludgeon as the Seviper drew back into its well-known coiled position, its mouth gaping.

And then a little multicolored blur lashed out of the sky, and with a loud angry chirp and a whirring sound, drove down in a perfect Drill Peck on top of the Seviper's skull.

I blinked as Tico bounced back from the blow. The Seviper's head bounced off of the ground, and it flattened into something resembling a crushed Slinky. My Natu wound up for another swipe as it blearily dragged its head back upwards, but I wouldn't be as good a trainer as I was if I didn't take an opportunity like this. Thankfully, my spare Pokeballs were in a buckled pouch that Tess couldn't get open. I grabbed an Ultra Ball, wound up, and caught the Seviper right in the nose with it. A moment later, the ball stopped shaking and I had myself a new Pokemon.

I tucked the ball into my pack and looked up at the nervous-looking Pokemon peering over the edge down at me. “All under control," I called up to her. Tico landed on my shoulder and chirped apologetically, and I stroked his feathers gently. “Great job, buddy, but don't run away like that again." The rope slithered down from above, and I looked at it, then at the bird on my shoulder. 'Hey, here's an idea…"

Tico managed to fly the tied-together rope all the way up to Tess, and with some grunting from my Pokemon and some scrambling on my end I managed to get back to the top without too much swearing. As I crawled over the top, the rope went slack and Tess knocked me over, rubbing her head against my chest and licking my face frantically. “It's okay, Tess, I'm fine," I reassured her, wrapping my arms around her shoulders for a hug. She leaned against me for a moment, then backed off and let me get back to my feet; while I dusted myself off, she growled a few choice phrases at Tico, who landed on her head and floofed his feathers out, looking shamed.

The rain was still steady as we got back to camp, and I heard the rumble of far-off thunder that made the little Natu shiver on my shoulder. “Tico, buddy, I'm going to put you in your ball for the night, okay? We're going to talk about thunder tomorrow." He cheeped sadly, but fluttered to the ground as I pulled out his ball and drew him within.

A few flickers of flame still rose from our dampened fire, so I kicked them out before crawling into the tent, holding the flap open for the Luxray to join me. A few moments with a dry towel helped me warm up substantially, and I rubbed Tess's fur dry as well before setting out my bedroll and crawling into it with a sigh of appreciation. “That was an eventful first day on the road. I think I might sleep through the next two or three…"

Tess rumbled an amused chuckle and sprawled next to me as I switched off our battery-powered lantern and settled in to sleep.

The patter of rain on canvas was somewhat soothing, and I was starting to fade into sleep when I realized my Luxray was less relaxed than I was. She was shifting around on the blanket I'd spread out for her, muttering quietly and rumbling, and then she turned and abruptly scooped her head up under my right arm, her body settling against my side. “What's wrong, girl?" I murmured, my hand coming down to stroke behind her ears gently. “Can't sleep?"

She lightly brushed a lick over my bare chest and settled her head on my shoulder, prumbling gently. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what she was worried about; Tess was occasionally affectionate and cuddly, but not usually aggressive about it. “It's all okay, girl. We're all fine, and we even have a new team member. … not that I know anything about training Sevipers."

Tess shifted next to me and sprawled a paw onto my chest, purring gently. I smiled and rubbed her shoulders. “Or are you just feeling cuddly tonight? I don't mind, it'll warm the…"

Her paw cut me off with surprise as it shifted to settle on my groin. I blinked, and looked into those amber eyes as she raised her head to meet my gaze. “Ah, Tess? Your paw is…" I realized that she knew exactly where it was as it flexed, cupping my package softly and kneading. “You, uh… well, this is kind of a surprise."

The Luxray touched my nose with hers and churred a chuckle, her paw continuing to work on me through the sleeping bag and rousing me rather quickly.

Okay, I know there's some ethical questions surrounding the concept of trainers and Pokemon getting intimate, and I understand that. But I'd be willing to bet that none of the people who are on the 'no' side of that discussion have ever trained a Lopunny, as I had. Most trainers start out with a Buneary, which is cute and cuddly and likes to snuggle a lot, which is fun, right? I'm convinced that's to get the trainer used to having it close, so that when it evolves into Lopunny it doesn't have far to pounce when it gets you alone. Lopunnies like sex. Trainers are their closest associates. Ergo… And I'm fairly sure Tess knew that Bounce and I had shared my bed for more than sleep…

I hesitantly brought my hand up and stroked my lovely Luxray's cheek fur, scratching softly through the thick blue tuft. She rumbled and licked my fingers, her eyes still locked on mine. “Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked her softly, and she nodded. “… Okay. You… I don't know exactly how we can do this…"

She flashed teeth in a smile, and brought her paw up to shove the sleeping bag down, exposing my shorts, which I quickly shucked off as she twisted around and settled onto her side, facing the opposite direction. “Okay, that's not a bad starting point…" I murmured as she shifted around, one paw spread across my hips as she brought her head down to nuzzle around the base of my growing erection. Her hindquarters settled next to my head, and she looked back with a glint in her eye as she shifted to let the upper leg draw away and expose her hindquarters.

It was not, of course, the first time that I'd seen what she had beneath her tail – that was easy enough to spot just following her on the trail. And I'd bathed her enough times to be familiar with all of her. But I'd never really explored her genitals intimately… and she seemed to have as much curiosity about mine as I did about hers, judging from the soft nose nudges against my stiff shaft and flickers of breath as she explored me. I brought my hand up and gently brushed the fur away from her sex, stroking a fingertip along it to a soft purr of pleasure. It looked small, even this close, and I would have wondered just how to go about doing much of anything with her if I hadn't seen Tess and my Blaziken male humping merrily one day behind the house. He was hardly small, I had noticed.

Well, in for a penny… I leaned my head in and softly lapped at her slit. It tasted like … not much at all, really. A little salty, and a little slicker as she shifted and her arousal started to show itself, pink peeking through the outer labia as I slid my tongue along her slowly. She returned the favour, her tongue slowly dragging along my length. I hissed with pleasure and caressed her slit with one finger, and her hindquarters twitched to nudge her femininity closer.

Tess, purring all the way, slowly pushed her chest over my belly and levered so that I would roll onto my back, and then carefully stepped over my head to place her haunches above my face; a few drops of her fluid dribbled onto my chin as she lowered herself back within my reach even as her tongue went back to swirling around my twitching shaft. I went to work with enthusiasm, bringing my hands up to spread her folds, admiring the soft pink inside and slowly lapping at her again, exploring, tasting, pleasuring… she responded with a low rumbling moan and rather surprisingly engulfed my cock completely, her lips closing around the base, teeth dragging just a tiny bit as she started to move up and down.

Ignoring the passing thought that wondered how she had learned to do that – maybe she'd peeked with me and Bounce, I supposed, but really I didn't care because that mouth felt incredibly good wrapped around me – I carefully slipped a finger into Tess's sex, sinking it slowly through tensing muscles as I worked my tongue around her outer lips and explored to find… there it was. My finger found a firm nub that caused my Luxray to buck her hips and make a mewling sound around my cock, and I knew I'd found her clit. Focusing in on that spot, I worked my tongue more firmly and was rewarded with more of that thick, slick fluid.

My hips rocked in time with Tess's motions, her tongue whipping around the base and rubbing the tip as she bobbed slowly, careful not to get too much tooth into it, and the sensations were quickly pushing me towards a big finish – it had been a while since I'd been with anyone, Pokemon or human. I nibbled at her clit, making her shiver and buck against my face, trying to focus on her and control myself, but her pleasant suckling, the scent of her arousal, and my lack of action for some time was all ganging up on me. I tapped her side and pulled back a moment.

“Ease up… some, Tess…" I panted. “Pretty close…"

She growled something around me and planted her haunches firmly on my face, her paws wrapping under my hips and pulling me tight to her as she bobbed more rapidly. I started to react, but all things considered the only reaction was the obvious one… moaning loudly into her rump, I shuddered and came hard, gushing semen into the Luxray's warm mouth. She purred and held me close as my hips bucked and cock pulsed against her soft lips for what seemed like ages, and swallowed as I trailed off, lapping softly at my cocktip.

I took a moment to get my breath, then wrapped my arms around her butt and pulled her down to where I could bury my tongue into Tess and lap hard and fast against that firm nub of her clit. She raised her head and yowled in pleasure. I sank my fingers into her as my tongue twirled against her, and she gave a sudden buck and shivered, bathing me in more of her juices as she peaked, her muscles rippling around my fingers.

I sagged back as Tess flopped to her side, her hind legs akimbo as she caught her breath, resting a hand on her hip and stroking softly. She slowly drew up and turned around to settle next to me, nuzzling against my cheek affectionately. I touched noses with her and looked into her amber eyes. “Didn't expect to get a great blowjob from my Luxray," I joked breathlessly. She rumbled a laugh and licked my face; I licked back, our tongues brushing one another with a teasing glance.

Stretching, I stroked her side softly; she returned the touch by draping a big paw to rest agaisnt the back of my head and rub her forehead against my cheek. “Feel better now?" I asked, scratching here and there. “Ready for bed?" Tess opened her eyes and looked at me, her ears perking lightly, and she draped a hindpaw over my hip and pulled her body tight to mine, her hips grinding against my groin.

I looked down, then back up at her with an eyebrow raised. “So… seconds, then?"

She pressed her muzzle to my mouth, her tongue flicking out through her lips to caress mine again; I chuckled and let my tongue brush against hers again, and we shared what passes for a deep kiss between species with only vaguely compatible lips. It was strangely sensuous, her darting tongue curling against mine and dipping into my mouth as I did the same for her, drawing her soft underbelly fur against my body as my erection returned.

We snuggled and caressed one another for a few moments, then I drew back from her muzzle and hummed to myself. “How to do this…" I looked down at her body against mine and smiled, sliding a hand down to hook her upper hindleg and lift it as I shifted to kneel, one knee on either side of her tail. She shifted her rump to let me roll her partially, though she left both forepaws stretched to one side and planted her head on my pillow to watch me with interest.

Lifting Tess's upper leg spread her open for me, and I looked down to admire the full view – the pink peeking from her blue-furred folds, the darker pucker closer to her tail, the slick fluids matting her fur… it was quite a sight, and I rubbed her lips lightly, earning an approving purr, for a moment before moving forward. My cocktip brushed against her entrance, and I looked at her. “You really sure about this?" I whispered, wanting to be certain. As she nodded, I smiled and pushed my hips forward to sink into her.

It was tight, and warm, and wonderful. Her muscles clenched at my entrance, then slowly relaxed to take me as I leaned forward and let my cock inch its way into my Luxray. Tess moaned and flexed her forepaws, claws kneading into the ground where they lay. I couldn't blame her – it felt like she was stretching quite a bit to take me, though I knew she'd taken close to my size before… still, it was incredibly arousing to watch my Pokemon's eyes close in pleasure as I hilted myself and started to slowly rock against her, holding one leg against my chest and resting my free hand on the other as I moved.

Tess moved with me, her hips twitching to try and match me in the pleasurable position. I had the best view in the house, watching my cock, slick with her fluids, slip and slide in and out of her tight folds, and knew this wasn't going to be a marathon lovemaking session. Especially with how her body was even now milking me, rippling around my length as I pulled slowly out and sank slowly back in.

My free hand roamed over Tess's belly and stroked here and there as I thrust steadily into her, the two of us finding a good rhythm and rolling against each other with growing urgency. I settled the palm against her belly, cupping and squeezing where I could feel my cock pushing from within, and felt her tighten around me… she opened her eyes and tilted her head to watch me, lust in her eyes as her rolling hips pushed harder and more urgently against me, my shaft slick with her juices.

That tight Luxray vagina was driving me nuts quickly, but I tried to control it, doing my best to stimulate Tess in time with myself, panting with the effort of our lovemaking. Her tongue dangled to one side as we moved against one another. I felt the clenching of her muscles under my hand and around my shaft, and sped up a bit more, my hips slapping against her rump as I tried to push her to that peak… before I got to it, at least.

It worked. Tess closed her eyes again and threw her head back and groaned a deep “rrrrrrray!" as the orgasm swept over her… her muscles clamped down on me in an incredible grip as her fluids gushed over my hips. It was more than enough to help me out, and even as she rippled and yowled in pleasure, I leaned forward, bucked hard and exploded again, jetting my pleasure amid hers.

We both slowly collapsed again into a sweat-glinting afterglow. I carefully settled onto my side and she slipped her paws around me again, her hind legs holding me so that I stayed inside of her as I slowly softened, wrapping her forepaws around me and pulling me into a tight hug that I returned with pleasure.

Touching noses again, I smiled and gazed into those lovely amber eyes. “This is going to be an interesting trip, isn't it?"

Tess nodded in agreement, and I hugged her close as we settled in to sleep amid the sounds of soft rain and the Hoenn forests.
