I woke up feeling different than when I'd went to sleep. I knew it had nothing to do with being moved from the ground floor upstairs, but I had a feeling I'd worried the others when I'd passed out again. I sighed softly and muttered "They probably thought I had a relapse and used magic on me." I got up slowly and stretched out then realized what part of that different feeling was. I didn't have any pain in my palm, and yet I could still feel Shandi and her brother floating around in my head. I sighed and muttered "So that bastard cleansed me of all taint, well whatever taint there was anyway. Wonder if I still have a scar." I turned my palm over and saw that the scar was gone, but the black stain was still there and sighed. It meant the taint may have been gone, but I would always have a reminder of what acting foolishly got you. I looked at the cieling and sighed then said softly "I may as well admit it to myself, if not to anyone else, I think while I was unconscious I fell in love with those girls. Which means when I leave it's going to cause major problems." I shook my head and got dressed then headed downstairs figuring I should tell everyone my plans.

The first thing I saw when I got downstairs was Shandi and Dasher sitting on the couch talking. I blinked then started surveying the room and noticed everyone was seperated into groups. The only one who stood out was the angel, who I had the vague feeling of recognition whenever I saw her face. I motioned her over then sat on the stairs and Saw Ayrean wasn't in one of the groups. I smiled at her and motioned for her to come over as well then leaned back trying to think of what to say. After a few minute I got what I wanted to say lined up in my head straight and sat up. Ayrean and the angel were sitting there watching me and I said softly "Ayrean, I can sense your magic. I don't know what kind it is, but it's different from miss holy light here. So I was wondering if you would mind joining me when I leave town." She nodded slowly and I smiled a big thanks then turned to the angel and said "I have two things I have to do for Genetech when we get back, then I'm getting out of here, I want you to tell me who you think would be best to take with me. To a point, I'm going to trust your judgement basically."

She nodded slowly then closed her eyes and seemed to be thinking everything over. I smiled at Ayrean again and laid back yawning while I waited. After a few minutes she opened her eyes and said "I believe you should take Shandi, Dasher, Reina, Sam, Mac, Nevyn and his sister, Thowan, myself, Steve, Tibu, Agro, Dwayne, and three other people of your choice." I nodded in thanks then sighed glad she'd picked the ones I was planning to pick but annoyed she'd thrown herself in. I wanted as little to do with the gods as I could get, but of couse you don't always get what you want, and what you want and you need are two seperate things. I waited to hear one of the others say something, but nothing came up so I thought "Well I guess I'm free from having good, evil and feral sides." Then I heard a maniacal laugh and sighed. The angel looked at me and said "It appears you have a dark side still. Interesting, I thought when you passed out it was gone."

I raised an eyebrow and walked stood up then let out a long whistle. Everyone turned and looked at me. I grinned inwardly then said softly "If everyone would please gather around. I have a few things to tell all of you before we leave." Everyone slowly walked over and I popped my neck. They looked at me and I said "I guess I'll start at the beginning. I'm staying here for a few extra hours. You guys are going back ahead of me, and if you meet a scientist who asks about me and says there are projects they want me to sign up for, tell them I'll meet them at Genetech when I get back." They all started to protest and I held up a hand. When they stopped I said "Second, after this year I'm leaving town. I'm taking a few of you with me, and I'll tell you who does and who doesn't make the cut when I get back. Anyone who protests now, is probably going to regret it later." Finally they nodded and started outside. I glanced at Shandi and said "I'll get back without any help, but if you want to say here then go ahead. I have some stuff I need to do before I leave." Shandi nodded and sat down on the couch. I smiled at her then walked outside and watched everyone except the angel leave. She looked at me and I said "Let me guess, you're not leaving unti you're sure no Demons are going to come back after me." She nodded and I sighed then started back toward the cave as my mind went over everything.

After about ten minutes I got to the cave and sat down. As I sat there I felt something coming at me, and I growled soflty. I was getting real tired of fighting people who I'd never done anything to. I shook my head and stood up then turned around to see a figure covered in glowing robes watching me. I blinked and said "Ok so you obviously don't want to fight. Or else if you do, it's not me you want to fight, it's my darkness." It just sat there watching me and I said "You being silent is starting to really make me worried. Why are you here." They smiled slightly and held out there hands. I blinked when I saw marks like the ones on my chest and walked over then put my hands in their's. I shivered as a feeling of comfort flowed through me as our hands touched then I stepped back and looked them in the face. I stared into it's face and said softly "I know you from somewhere, but where would it be that we've met?"

They smiled at me through their hood then pushed it back and I blinked. It was a woman who's facial features seemed somewhat similiar to my own. She smiled slightly and said _ "Hello Jake. I've come to give you a gift. My name, and everything else like that is unimportant. You know me, but it will take you a long time to remember. However when you finally do, it will be one of the happiest days of my life, and sadly one of the worst for you. Don't worry about that for now though, all you need to worry about is putting the weapon I give you to good use." _ I blinked and started to ask her what she meant. When she put a finger to my lips and said softly _ "Don't ask anything until after I show you the weapon, then you'll be done and can get back to those you're so worried about." _ I shivered then nodded and she pulled her hand away from my lips. She studied my face then walked off into the woods. I followed her with my eyes, but after five steps she just vanished.

I blinked and rubbed my eyes then shook my head and said "God damn it, life just gets weirder and weirder every day." I shook my head and closed my eyes. When I opened them the woman was back with a bow. She looked at me and I asked "Is this what you were talking about?" She nods and I took it from her hands then turned it over in my own hands a few dozen times. It was coated in symbols, but it was made of plain old black Rowan wood. I tested the draw and shivered mummbling "It's almost as if it was designed for me. The draw is perfect, the wood feels right in my hands, and I feel a connection to it. Whoever or whatever made this bow, knew everything that they needed to know about me." She nodded and I started pouring energy into the bow until it glowed. When it glowed I felt as if something had put a wall between it and me and I mummbled "So it can take energy, but it has a fail safe to stop the owner from overloading it. That's interesting." She looked at me and I said "Thank you, but is there anything you can tell me about who you are?"

She smiled at me sadly and said _ "I can tell you a small amount of the truth. I'm dead, but you're not. I can tell you something that will help you on your journey. The gods themselves are worried about a decision you will eventually make between saving your friends and letting them die. They don't know what you will choose because all of the paths in between now and then are so twisted and convuluted that they can't tell what decision will effect it the most." _ I blinked and stared at her then started to ask if she was serious when she nodded. I sighed and leaned back against a tree shaking my head trying to make the possibility that I would betray those I trusted go away. It didn't go away because as it started to fade I ended up hearing that maniacal laugh and ended up thinking "Ok so I was wrong, there is a slight chance he could make me abandon my friends when we leave." I growled and shook my head then watched as the woman, or ghost vanished into the mist.

I sighed and walked back to the cabin where Shandi was sitting on the porch waiting. She looked at me and I said "Don't ask about the bow, please. It's given me some unsettling thoughts for the drive back home, and it's made me sure that I have to talk to Genetech." She nodded and we got in her car. I watched her as we drove back to the house and sighed softly then muttered "That bastard's going to kill me, even if he did make sure I couldn't impregnate you." She looked at me and I smiled at her then closed my eyes and leaned back in the seat. As she drove I thought about what the ghost had told me and shivered having a feeling that I was going to end up suffering from multiple problems. After about ten minutes the car stopped and I got out. I smiled at Shandi and said "I'll see you guys later, I have some stuff I need to do." I walked into the garage and got in my shelby then started it and headed for Genetech's offices.

It took me about ten minutes because I was driving way slower than usual. When I got to Genetech I got out and was greeted by fifty armed guards and three scientists. One was my father, the other was the head of examinations, and the final was a former alpha project researcher. I knew that the angel was watching us because I'd seen her as I was getting out of my car. I sighed as my father walked up and said "They want you to become a part of projects S and Omega, you probably figured that if you got the message they left at the house. Although what's with all the animals?" I shrugged and they escorted me into one of the genetic chambers. I raised an eyebrow and he said "You aren't trying to fight, so they aren't going to attack. We've got to go get the serum's ready, so if you'll excuse us." The three of them walked away and the guards blocked the exits. I yawned and sat down on one of the beds they'd supplied and stretched. The guards didn't take their eyes off me and I sighed. They looked at me andI flipped them off then dived below the beds as they shot tranq darts where I'd just been sitting.

I grinned to myself and said "Ha you bastards suck. I could shoot better blindfolded, no I could shoot better with one hand, blindfolded, and without being able to hear. I'd prove it, but if I move from behind this bed I'll be shot." While I was talking I was slowly moving back to the next bed. When I got to it I held up my hand and then pulled it down as they shot tranquilizers where it had just been. I stood up then pulled out my bow. They looked at me like I was nuts then I stuck my hand into my quiver and pulled out five arrows. I glanced at the marks on them and grinned then let them fly. As they flew toward the guards they exploded into multiple arrows with the same secondary mark as the original five arrows. I smiled as each arrow struck and the guards fell asleep. With them out of the way I sat down on the bed and put my weapons next to me. I didn't plan on gong anywhere until my father and the other scientists gave me whatever they wanted to give me. After about ten minutes my father walked up with a syring full of a strange red liquid. He looked at me and I asked "Is that Project S?" He nodded and I saw that his friend had a black syringe.

They looked at me and asked "Are you ready?" I nodded and my father walked over first then shoved the syringe into my neck and pushed the plunger all the way down. I fell down grasping at my neck with both hands because it felt like the inside of my neck was on fire and filled with acid. I started screaming out in pain then my father and the angel held me down as the other doctor walked over and slammed the other syringes contents into my veins. My screaming redoubled in volume and my eyes clouded over as the pain became worse than even what I'd taken from Shandi and her brother. FInally my vocal cords closed up from the strain and my screams were just silent voiceless things. After a while the pain started to fade and I felt stronger I slowly pushed myself to my feet and my fahter said "It appears your body adapted quicker than expected." The other scientist nodded and said "You and the girl are the only two this has been administered to from Project Alpha. Project Beta had one member take it, and he nearly died. We believe it has to do with the different concotions used." I nodded and leaned against the wall as the pain started to slolwly flow out of my body and I felt my strength coming back, and increasing.

I stretched and looked at the angel who smiled at me then showed me the puncture wounds on her wrist. I sighed and said softly "Britanny that was your name. It's been a long time." She nodded and the two of us hugged each other. I stared her in the eyes and said "Why'd you leave after project Alpha?" She shook her head and the two of us headed toward the door. When we got there I stopped and looked at my dad. He smiled at me and I said "Is that all there was to those two projects?" He shook his head and I pushed Britanny out the door then walked over and said "Give me everything." He stared at me and I said softly "I can handle all of it, I know I can, and you know I can. So give me the rest of the god damn stuff so we can get it done with." He nodded slowly and pulled out a briefcase then opened it. I stared at the contents and said "Well this is going to hurt like hell." He nodded as the other scientist walked up and pulled out his own briefcase.

They looked at me and I held out my left arm waiting. My father looked at my face and said "What's with the scar?" I shrugged and he let the matter rest then picked up a syringe full of purple fluid and shoved it into my wrist. After a few seconds he pushed down the plunger and sent it's contents into my veins. i held back a scream as he pulled out another syringe and shoved it into my neck then, shoved a blue one, a yellow one, and an orange one all into my veins as well. I nearly passed out from the pain after the orange shot, then glanced at the guy who obviously ran project alpha. My father studied me and said "Three more shots then it's his turn. I'm just letting your body adjust as much as possible." I nodded then flexed my arm slowly. After a few minutes my dad shoved the last three syringes in and I nearly passed out from the pain as my body started fighting itself. After about ten minutes they started shooting my veins full of the other syringes. When they were done I passed out on the hospital bed.

I woke up about a half hour later holding back a scream of pain. The scream and the pain faded after about five minutes and I opened one eye to see Britanny sitting across from me on a chair. She glanced at me and said "Welcome to the land of the living. I'm Britanny your resident angel and host, your currently at your house in the basement. You're girlfriends, and friends are upstairs waiting for you. Oh and your friends Rodrik, and Jasper said that you aren't leaving them." I nodded and sat up then held back a scream as the muscles in my back protested. Britanny sighed and said "Well it appears that the Omega project nearly killed you, and I bet Genetech is screaming about you not dying. They didn't want any of the former projects to survive, henceforth the name."

I nodded and headed upstairs growling. When I got upstairs Reina, Sam, and Sheila tackled me. I blinked and they said "You owe us big." I sighed and pointed at the stairs which they ran down. I noticed Ayrean was watching me and I smiled at her. She smiled back then headed outside. I followed her and sat down on the porch as she sat on the hood of one of the cars. I looked at her and she looked back then I smiled. She stared at me and I waved. She finally waved back with a slight smile and we both looked away. I was thinking of what nearly happened, and she was probably thinking of some guy she would rather end up with than an ass like me. After a few minutes I shook my head and stood up holding back a yawn. Ayrean walked over and smiled at me. I smiled back and kissed her lips impulsivey. She stared at me and I shrugged apologetically.

She pushed me onto my back and kissed me then stood up and walked into the trees. My instincts kicked in so I followed her. My instincts kicked in and I slowly drank enough to calm her down, and keep me going.

I sighed and started back to the house when I fell over holding my stomach again. My wings flapped around erratically, while my body felt like it was on fire. I felt my wings receding back into my back then felt fire behind my eyes and had to close them. After a few seconds I felt my jaws changing first into those of a wolf, then back to normal. I shook my head slowly as the pain receded and glanced down at myself to see if anything had changed. I sighed softly in relief when the only thing that had changed was my markings.

They'd gotten larger, and now covered up most of my chest, arms, and back. I glanced at my hands and saw they also had makings like the rest of my body. I walked back to the house and grabbed a pair of my pants off the washline since I'd had them out there for several hours. I pulled them on and walked inside. Ayrean smiled at me, while everyone else started shouting at me about something going on in Dasher's room, I held up a hand and everyone stopped. I pointed at Cain who said softly "Dasher and Shandi are upstairs, Dasher was supposed to be comforting her, then the room got blocked off." I sighed and started up the stairs. Cain looked at me and asked "Want everyone else to watch out for more trouble, and keep people from murdering Ayrean?" I nodded and he got infront of Ayrean with the help of Brandon, Ronny, Rex, and Steve. I ran up the stairs and slammed into Dasher's door then bounced off. I started focusing energy into the barrier around the door and felt it slowly starting to give, until someone or something reinforced it.

I growled and started pouring more energy into it as my wings burst from the symbols that represented them on my back, and my claws started to grow. I dug my claws into the barrier forcing the energy into it then amplified it with the energy of the plants around the house, by siphoning off just enough of their lifeforce that none of us would die. Finally the barrier shattered and the one holding it vanished. I kicked open the door to see a very satisfied looked Dasher cuddling with an equally satisfied looking Shandi. I sighed softly and walked downstairs everyone looked at me and then Cain said "Where the hell'd you get the wings Jake?" I growled softly and they vanished, along with my claws then walked down to my room and sat on the bed staring at the symbols on my hands. I shivered slightly and thought "It appears that my body is just starting to react to the Omega project. I have a feeling theirs a lot more than meets the eye going on here."

While my friends and I were busy, across town in the Genetech building my dad and his colleague were being questioned. The questioning went on for a few hours then they called in a young man who had a simple wrist watch on. He looked at my father and said "Gene X, Genetech, and Gene A have all asked for my services, you work with Gene A. So why do you want my help?" My father explained and he listened then raised an eyebrow and said "So your groups is actually the most helpful one. That's surprising, for a group called Gene Alpha, you guys are surprisingly caring." My father nodded then told him his name and held out his hand. The guy smiled slightly and shook it then said "I'm one of Genetech's former agents. You can call me K, I guess I owe you a small amount of background." My dad nodded and K said simply "I was an intern working here after studying architecture a few years ago, they offered me the position and it helped me get through college. However they didn't tell me what the position entailed. Three weeks into it they gave me a device that could modify the genetics of anyone who touched it into any form they chose. It only lasted two hours the first time, however they told me that after each use it would get easier and last longer. They mentioned I could switch back and forth easily, this led to some of what they planned for Gene Alpha from what I hear." My father nodded and the two of them went off to a room to discuss the differences between what he was a part of, and Project Alpha.

After a while the two of them agreed on something, then K as my father knew him, left for the house with a bag on his shoulder. When he arrived I was downstairs, and Reina answered the door. I walked up slowly to see the two of htem talking and plopped down on the couch with a loud yawn. They looked at me and Reina said "Jake this is Kloree, he said your dad asked him to watch you for any negative side effects to something." I nodded studying our new friend and growled when our eyes locked. His eyes said there was more to him than he was letting on, he smiled seeming to understand my impression then walked in and asked Reina if we had an extra room. She nodded and led him to my old room which had yet to be occupied. I sat down on the couch and watched the news as Dasher and Shandi walked down looking clean, and wearing a pair of bath towels. I raised an eyebrow at the two of them and they smiled at me then sat down.

I looked at them and said "Shandi's brother was here." They nodded seeming surprised and I explained "I had an image of him appearing in Dasher's room, but I pushed it away thinking I was imagining things. However it appears that I was wrong, and the vision was correct." They nodded and I said "It appears that you two are almost completely comfortable with what just happened." They nodded and I let the matter rest then said "I believe we have one of Genetech's former spies staying at the house." They stared at me and I explained "I think Genetech, and my father, want to know what's going to happen to me now that hte last of their seirums is injected into my body, and I think they want to check on our angel friend. So if you meet a guy named Kloree, be careful. He may do just about anything to find out what he was sent here for." They nodded and I let the matter rest then started for the kitchen. Ayrean was sitting at the kitchen table talking to Cain who smiled at me when I walked in then went back to listenting to what she said. I grabbed a bottle of Coke out of the fridge then sat down and listened to what they were talking about. It appeared Ayrean was explaining Druidic magic to Cain, and how many weres were actually Druid's who could shapeshift.

I blinked and she looked at me then asked "What about your abilities? Are they all from the genetics, or are some of them magical?" I shrugged then showed her my palms and let a small ball of light appear over them. She studied it and said softly "You use lifeforce magic, do you realize how close to the dark arts that is?" I nodded again and she studied me then said softly "Don't give into your hatred Jake. I dont' know why it's so strong, but if you give in it could cost you everything." I smiled at her in appreciation then sat down and closed my eyes. She studied me and I opened one eye. She smiled at me and said softly "I can tell you're to stubborn to let the darkness inside you take over. However only time can tell, but I can honestly say that everyone here trusts you to some point. Even the man you believe to be a spy." I stared at her in surprise and she said "As i told Cain, Drudic magic is very subtle. It's only blunt when it needs to be. So what makes you think he's a spy?" I sighed and explained my theories to the two of them.

Cain blinked and said "You've been studying Genetech that long?" I nodded and he shook his head then said "Dude you seriously need to get a hobby, although it might not be such a big deal now that you're watching out for the girls." At this his eyes went to Ayrean asking a question that I could see quite plainly. I nodded slightly and leaned back in my chair directing his eyes to Ayrean. He blinked and said "Are you serious, the two of you did that in the woods today?" She nodded blushing from her cheeks to the tips of her ears. I nodded slightly holding back a smile then got up and headed downstairs yawning. I planned to sleep and get all the energy I'd used against Shanden back. However when I got to my room Britanny and Kloree were sitting on my bed. I looked at them and resisted the urge to say 'What the hell are the two spys doing on my bed, when they work for opposing forces.' they seemed able to read my mind and shook their heads slowly.

I sighed and said "Alright what am I missing here. I know that this is just the first part of project Omega. I knowt that Project S was what happened in the lab, it was meant to supress my abilities until Omega started. Now that Omega's kicking in my abilities are back ten times as strong. I know that you both are spys, and that Genetech's been infiltrated by a group of people who follow Britanny boss's enemies. Who for some reason want to capture and change me. I know that you are the former Agent K who was sent by Genetech whenever there was trouble, mister Kloree. So my question is this, why the heck am I being spied on?" They studied me and I saw that they were thinking of how much they should tell me. I growled softly and said "If you tell me everything I'll cooperate to the best of my ability. Am I understood?" They nodded slowly and studied me seeming surprised I coudl get them to agree to what I'd said so easily.

The two of them looked at me and said "You're right, we are spies." I nodded getting annoyed and sat down thinking this woud take a while. Britanny looked at me and said "Basically the gods sent me to make sure you didn't turn to the side of evil as Shandi's brother Shanden did." I shivered and rubbed my palm thinking of how strange Shanden seemed every time I had a mental vision of him. I growled softly and she continued "I also was supposed to explain something about your past, but I believe you'll remember it without me saying anything, or else they will send someone else for that particular job. The fact that Genetech has been invaded by a force of the enemy means, that my own lady has sent someone to make sure the building stays ballanced." Kloree stared at her then looked at me and said "Your father sent me to see how your body was reacting to Project Omega. He's afraid that Genetech was trying to kill you with the project, which is why he gave you the suppressants. I may have been a spy, but I'm not really a bad guy, and he asked me to try and gain your trust. I thought I'd do that as honestly as I could, but you seem to distrust me still." I nodded and he sighed then continued "I may have been a good spy, but I'm also a good guy. I only took the job because it was paying for my family. You don't have to believe me, you just have to live with me until you leave or Project Omega leaves your system."

I sighed and said "I'll deal with all of this in the morning. Just get out of my room and let me get some sleep, I used a lot of energy and anything short of blood and rest, will cause me to have problems." They nodded and went upstairs to their rooms. I plopped down on the bed and tried to fall asleep. I didn't fall asleep right away so I started thinking about everything. It helped to calm my mind down and I felt myself starting to slip into a deep sleep. When I was halfway there I dreamed about being someone else again, except this time the person was sitting in a chair talking to someone else who's arm was in a sling and seemed to be arguing about some sort of plan to save someone. I started to protest then I fell into a deep sleep and felt as if someone or something was watching over me with a protective eye.

Hope you guys enjoyed Chapter 14, sorry it took so long but my computer has been going nuts the last couple of days. I plan to get Chapter 15 up by the end of the week and I plan to work on my other series while I'm at it. If you want to be a character just let me know. P.S. I plan to get up the prequels to this series, and the series that start after this as soon as I'm done with Chapter 20 so don't stop reading there. Also if your character didn't appear in this chapter, don't worry I plan to keep every single character that isn't copyrighted to me as a part of the story until the very end, hopefully.
