Jake:

I woke up to find myself in someone else's house, still naked mind you, but alone and in someone else's home. I don't know if I have to tell you just how weird a feeling it is to wake up in a house after being with two beautiful young vixens in the woods. I shook my head and glanced around wondering why this house seemed so immaculate as if the people living here never had any problems or anything. I slowly walked through the house wishing I'd at least had my cloak and wondering what the owner would think when they saw a hybrid that they hadn't invited standing in their home naked as the day he was born. I glanced at my wrist and saw I was slightly off, I still had my scanner which I guessed you could count as clothing. I shook my head slowly as a pair of Renamon walked up to me then right on through me as if I was insubstantial. I blinked and glanced around then said "Oh hell no, I can't be a fucking ghost. What did I have a heart attack from those two screwing me like they did? Or is this something else?" I sighed and followed the two Renamon letting myself listen to their conversation. One of them sighed and said "I don't know, I don't think we should leave them alone dear. I mean they are only seven, and from what Ms. Lancet says, the babysitter you want isn't the most reputable man. I say we just wait to go out until their a little older." The other sighed and said "Dear, they're seven years old. When you were that age your mother left you home alone all the time, plus this is a one time concert that won't happen for another ten years." She sighed and said softly "Yeah but I had three older brothers who wouldn't let anything happen to me, and we both lived in Renamon Valley. This is a new place and there aren't that many of our people here, so I don't think we can trust them as much as we want to."

He nodded slightly and said "I know that's the problem with the real world. However I refuse to go back and hide like so many of our relatives. I think if we don't take the first steps to accepting the other races no one will." Finally his mate nodded and said softly "However I think we should ask the girls. After all if you want to put their lives in the hands of someone else then I think you should at least have their opinion." He nodded his aquisance then the two of them walked into another room where a pair of young renamon who'd obviously just evolved and hadn't gained their full height and looked like younger versions of their mother. I blinked and studied the four of them then whistled softly and mumbled "It's Amanda and Dana's family." The girls seemed to notice me at first then they focused on their parents as their father asked "Do you two mind staying home alone while your mother and I go out to a concert on the edge of town?" Danna who didn't have the uncaring look I knew her for smiled and said "Sure Daddy, we can stay home alone, but what about the man behind you?" He turned around then looked through me and turned back saying "Danna now's not the time for jokes. Your mother and I need you to be serious, we're still calling in a local babysitter, but we want your opinion on whether you should be left a lone." She glanced at Amanda who nodded shyly then said "Yes Daddy, we're willing to stay home alone." He smiled and looked at his mate who nodded in aquisance then pulled out his cell phone and called the babysitter. He spoke into the phone for a while then nodded and hung up. She looked at him questioningly and he said "He'll be here in about ten minutes. That gives us enough time to get ready, and write a list of things that the babysitter should know." She nodded and the two of them walked off.

I watched them for a bit, then started tapping a few buttons on my scanner trying to see what it would do in this place since it wasn't on school grounds. Suddenly my clothes appeared with an extra addition which was a strange pair of gloves. The girls stared at me and suddenly Danna said to Amanda "At least he's wearing clothes now." I blinked and tried to put my hand through a wall like I could put it through her parents and realized I couldn't. I shook my head confused and Amanda asked "What are you doing mister?" I blinked as the two of them walked over and asked "Why can you two see me yet your parents can't?" They shrugged and Danna said "I was about to ask you the same thing. However I'm curious what you are doing in our house." I shrugged and said "I'm not even sure how the hell I got here so you're asking the wrong guy, lass." Amanda gasped and said "Oh my god, you said a swear word. If mommy and daddy could have heard you, you'd be in so much trouble." I blinked and asked "Is it wrong for adults to curse?" They shook their heads and I said "Well I'm eighteen, so I don't think anyone will begrudge me one swear, not even your parents." They glanced at each other then nodded slowly and I shivered mumbling "Twin telepathy." They glanced at me questioningly and I said "Don't worry about it just thinking about something." They nodded and Danna said "If you'll excuse us we have to go upstairs and wait for the babysitter." I stepped out of their way and watched them go past wondering why I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen as the day continued. I shook my head and watched the girls go then touched my back feeling for my sword and wondered what could possibly happen next.

I sighed and sat down in the living room then popped my shoulder and decided to explore. I got up and walked through the house exploring every room on the lower floors before Danna and Amanda's parents walked downstairs. I glanced at them and smirked when I saw their mother was in a cocktail dress, and their father in a suit. These were so abnormal for renamon I had to laugh as the girls walked downstairs in a pair of dresses that just didn't suit them. They glared at me, and I just smiled in response. Suddenly the front door opened and a man walked in. I instantly noticed he had the same air about him as the figure in the cloak and I growled softly. The girls looked at me confused and I said softly "There's nothing good about him, tell your parents not to leave you with him." Danna blinked and studied me while Amanda nodded after taking one look at the guy. Danna finally sighed and said "I'll try." She walked over to her dad and pulled on his sleeve slowly. He looked at her and she said "Dad, does that guy really have to baby sit us?" He nodded and said "He's the only one we could get on such short notice girls, but from what the other parents say he's great." I growled softly seeing images of death floating around him and slowly drew my sword. The girls stared at it then Danna said "Daddy I really don't like this guy, he seems dark." Her father seemed not to hear her this time as he slowly explained to the man about how to take care of the girls and where everything was. His wife listened for a while then said "You're just worried because he's different baby, you'll be fine." I growled and silently swore I'd make sure that she was right.

The girls looked at me confused and I said softly "Don't worry; nothing will happen, even if it kills me." They looked at me questioningly and I said "Don't worry about it, just trust me when I say nothing will happen." They nodded and I watched their parents leave. I motioned for them to go upstairs after introducing themselves to the sitter. The sitter smiled and said "I'm Rojak Neley. I'm going to go make something in the kitchen, you girls had better not make to much noise while I'm down here." They nodded and ran upstairs while he walked to the kitchen. I thought about following the girls then decided to follow him because his name kept making me think of something I'd seen on the news. When he got in the kitchen he made himself a sandwich then sat down and started talking to someone or something else that was in the room. He smirked and said "This is too easy, every time I do this I get stronger and you end up killing anyone who interferes. It's very enjoyable, so do you think that things will work out the way you expect in your time period Noras?" A figure in a black cloak materialized and said "Yes Rojak, your little game of tormenting children. I'm guessing since their girl's your going to add their purity to your list?" Rojak nodded and the figure continued "Are you sure the parents will be gone all night and you can heal any wounds you cause?" Rojak nodded and I silently growled so the two of them wouldn't realize I was there. Rojak sighed and said "So how is it that no one else, other than the children that is, can see you?" The figure smiled and said softly "Children notice everything Rojak; I'm not supposed to be here. However if I try to I can change events. These girls were supposed to be fine, but look what I've done for you."

Rojak nodded slowly and the figure said "Seven children so far, four boys for you to kill. You have had three girls to use as you wish, and now a pair of twins. You can both cut one up or use both and slowly warp their minds allowing them to be mine in the future." He nodded and said "As you wish Lord Noras. Do you have any other requests?" He nodded and said "Make sure nothing shows and that though they remember this they can never speak of it. I'd hate to lose you through carelessness." Rojak nodded and started for the stairs as his figure turned as insubstantial as me. I slowly moved my sword testing it as the two of them walked toward me then turned and ran up the stairs before the figure could see me. I knew the only way I'd be able to change the future for the better would be to make sure neither caught me before I could do something. As I ran I heard Noras say "Allow me to play with the girls when you are done. I want to plant the seeds of true darkness into their hearts personally." I didn't hear Rojak's response, but I didn't think I wanted to as I ran up the stairs to the girl's room. They glanced at me and said "What is it?" I swallowed and said "Your babysitter is a pedophile and a murderer. You've got to hide, and I need to find a place I can stay hidden and protect you if it comes to that." They stared at me and said "Can he see you?" I shook my head then said softly "However he has a friend who seems to be like me, but much more evil." They nodded and said "Do you think you can make yourself go through walls or something?" I shook my head and said "I tried earlier; I only seem to be able to vanish out of anyone but the two of you's sight, although I've never tried to become completely visible."

They blinked and said "Is that why our parents can't see you?" I nodded and sheathed my sword then slipped into the closet as the two of them dived under their bed and the door burst open. Rojak looked around for them as Noras smiled and said "It appears your prey is onto you, this is a new development. I guess it's true what they say about animals detecting other's emotions. Next time you'll have to hide them better, but at least we know this now." Rojak nodded as he tore the bed apart then laughed when he found a strange doll that instantly made me think of Danna's personality. He smiled and said "I guess the children will just have to let their dolls suffer their punishment instead." I growled and slowly drew my sword as Noras appeared in his substantial form and said "Check under the bed, then throw that stupid doll away." Rojak nodded and tossed the doll into the closet at my feet, then pulled Amanda and Danna out from under the bed. I growled softly and shoved the doll in my belt to protect it then forced myself to materialize. I jumped out and slashed off Rojak's arms as the girls cried out for help, and prepared to bite and scratch for all they were worth. Noras stared at me and said "How did you get here boy?" I smiled darkly and said softly "I don't know how I got here, but I do know I'll kill both of you before you can ruin anyone else's lives." Rojak's arms released the girls as they fell to the floor and I yelled "GIRLS RUN!!!!" They did as I asked and ran out of the room through the house to the kitchen. I glared at Rojak and Noras as Noras slowly reattached Rojak's arms and said "It appears we must deal with this one before you can have your pleasure my soldier. However if you kill him I will reward you greatly."

Rojak nodded and rushed at me. I smiled slightly and stepped to the side then slashed his leg causing him to drop to his knees. I instinctively made a full circle with my cut injuring Noras and cutting Rojak's head off sending it flying across the room. The body fell to the floor as the figure started chanting darkly. I growled and summoned my tentacle beast without shouting the words then watched as it devoured the lifeless corpse of Rojak. Noras gasped and held his chest then said "I knew I shouldn't have given him any of my power. However since you destroyed him, I guess I'll be unable to return to my own time." I growled softly and started pouring energy into my sword as he continued "I guess that means I'll just have to use the girls as I see fit, then drain their life force and return home." I growled and slammed my blade into his chest as soon as he stopped and said softly "No one hurts my friends, or the innocent as long as I still draw breath." He smiled darkly and said "You broke a cardinal rule boy. Time travelers aren't allowed to influence the past directly. It's why I used Rojak to influence most events." I growled and twisted my sword then said softly "I'll pay whatever price I must if it's to save my friends the pain they obviously are going to feel from this. I know that to alter time you must watch what was really going to happen, so I'm as prepared as I can be. Now I'm going to finish you and let the girls know they'll be ok then go back to my own time." He smiled and said "I hope it destroys you to see the truth boy. However if it doesn't then I wonder what it will do to you when you get to your own time." I shrugged and sent one last blast of energy through him then fell cleaned my sword and withdrew my tentacle beast.

I slowly checked around the room, then walked downstairs to talk to the girls. I wondered how they would react when they saw my hands covered in blood, since it didn't show on my clothing. I turned back around when I heard a sound behind and me and saw Noras appear then slash my arm open to the bone. I yelled out in pain and he said "Consider that my final act, since the last of my energy went into that wound. It will heal, however you will always have a scar." I shrugged as the wound healed and he continued "Consider it a gift and a curse. It will injure you whenever others heal you, yet it will warn you when my people are nearby. With that I bid you farewell until my master recalls me from the place our kind go when we die." I watched him finally fade to nothing, then walked downstairs holding my arm as the blood slowly dried on my hands. The girls took one look at me then screamed and rushed over to make sure I was ok. I smiled at them and said "I'm fine, all of this is Rojak and his companion's blood. The most that happened to me was the fuckers managed to cut me, and before you get onto me for my language, I know. However I'm angry and hurt, so I have the right to curse." They nodded slowly and Amanda asked me "Can you stay and say Rojak called you because he had to leave?" I nodded as I wrapped my cloak around my arm and made my weapons vanish with a thought then said "Do I look like a good enough babysitter now?" They nodded and said "So what would you like to do until our parents get home, and you have to 'put us to bed' as mom and dad would say." I smiled slightly and said "How about we play a quick game of tag, then I'll fix up your room and put you to bed."

They nodded and I sat down on the couch then said "You guys have a ten minute head start, so I'd run." They rushed off and I slowly counted to ten. As soon as I was done I got up and started chasing them around the house grinning like a little kid again because I could catch sight of the smiles on their faces. After about ten minutes I finally caught the two of them and carried them up to their room. They stared at me surprised and Danna said "You're different from Rojak. I can't explain it, but I feel safe whenever you're around." Amanda nodded and said softly "Promise you'll never let the two of us be hurt." I smiled and said softly "I promise that even with my last breath I will protect you two. If you ever call, I'll be there in a matter of seconds. I may not always be there when you call, but when it's really important I promise I'll drop everything and come." They stared at me and finally asked "Are you sure?" I nodded and said softly "I'm as sure as anyone can be, now I'm going to clean up your room and you two are going to go get ready for bed." I set them down and they walked into the room then grabbed their stuff for bed. I thought about something and as Danna walked by I handed her the doll. She looked at it then stuck it back on my belt and said softly "You keep it, that way we'll always know who you are." I blinked and Amanda nodded then the two of them walked into the bathroom and I slowly cleaned up the room. By the time I finished they had already come back in and were yawning. I picked them up and gently tucked them in then smiled and said "I'll send your parents up to kiss you goodnight when they get home."

The two of them smiled at me then I walked out of the room as they said "Goodnight mister." I stopped dead and turned around then said softly "My name's Jake. I forgot that you can't very well call on me if you don't know it. So remember you ever truly need it, then call my name. Got me." They nodded again and I walked downstairs. When I got downstairs I sighed and sat down in their living room waiting for their parents to come home. Suddenly I heard a car drive up and mumbled "Well do or die, hopefully do though. I guess I'll meet their parents again in my own time, but first I'll meet them in the past. Which I guess is the present right now. Damn I hate paradoxes." After a few minutes Kiko and Mina walked in. Kiko looked at me and said "Did Rojak call you to replace him?" I nodded and explained "He would have called you guys, but it was a family emergency. I was passing by so he asked me to watch your girls until either he or you got back. He said if you guys got back to tell you no charge. I put your daughters to bed a little while ago and said you'd be up to kiss them goodnight before I left." Mina smiled at me and said "Thanks for watching the girls. If they tell us you caused no trouble then you're free to go. If not however you're in deep trouble." I swallowed and said "No problems as far as the girls told me maam however I could be wrong." She nodded and the two of them went upstairs while I silently thought "I hope the girls don't tell them about the mess with Rojak. I also hope they don't mention my promise, because that would be hard to explain." I sighed and tried to put a smile on my face and Kiko and Mina walked back down stares. They studied me for a few minutes then said "Well it appears the girls were happy with how you babysat them, so you can go. Although can you give us your number so we can call you if we need anything else."

I sighed and said "Sorry I'm leaving town, but I think you should trust your girls' instincts. They seemed to be able to help me out a lot, and I think their a lot more mature than most girls their age." They stared at me surprised and I explained "They were pretty much taking care of themselves when Rojak and I traded places. They seemed relaxed, but questioned me carefully and told me they'd tell you everything that happened in the morning." They nodded and I said "You should look up the local babysitters and find out who's the best, then see if the girls like them." They nodded and I continued "If you guys will excuse me, I need to get home." They nodded and I shook Kiko's hand, then kissed the back of Mina's hand and started for the door. I smiled at them as I left and said "It was nice meeting both of you, and I hope I can come back in the future." They nodded and I smiled then walked down the street until their house was out of sight. Suddenly I found myself at my dad's place before we bought it. I blinked and mumbled "So we bought an abandoned house? Interesting. I wonder why my dad would by this place. Ah, who cares. I just want to get home." I closed my eyes for a few minutes then opened them as I heard two girls screaming. When I opened them I found myself facing Rojak who was slowly molesting Danna and Amanda. The voice spoke up and said "So you saved the girls, only to watch what would have happened if you hadn't interfered. Obeying the laws that even gods can't avoid must be hell. However you didn't have to see this, you could have let it happen and just walked away." I growled softly and said "I will never leave anyone to be harmed for no reason without trying to interfere." The voice just laughed then slowly faded.

I slowly shook my head and continued to watch as Rojak mercilessly raped the girls then Noras had his fun. I didn't look away through any of it, and I knew that deep in side it had changed me for either the better or the worse. When it finally ended I saw the looks in the girls' eyes and knew that they were seeing something much worse than what happened. I shivered slowly and watched them then jerked awake in the middle of the forest. I wrapped my arms around the girls even tighter then blinked as I smelled blood. I lifted my cloak and aw that the insides of all three of our legs were coated in blood. I stared and mumbled "Does that mean I somehow took their virginity? If so then it wasn't just a dream, it was actually me altering the past. How does that work? I didn't use a spell or anything." I shook my head and mumbled "Wait, if that dream was real, then was the other one? I guess the only way to find out is to go into the woods and see if the pond is real." The girls slowly woke up and looked at me then murred in pleasure and said "You know that you gave us a lot of pleasure last night, right?" I nodded and they both nipped my neck then said "Sadly however the two of us need to get back to our room so we'll see you in the morning." They slowly climbed off me then walked off into the trees. I glanced down at myself and sighed then said softly "I wonder why the hell I always end up getting blood in the few parts of me that are furry, and smell is hardest to wash out of. I guess it's just my luck." I got up and gathered my gear, then noticed my arm still had the scar and my clothes were coated in blood. I walked to the river and slowly started washing my clothes and myself.

When I was done I got dressed and walked back to my room wondering what else could possibly happen. When I walked in I saw Gabe laying on his bed listening to music. I nodded to him then was suddenly tackled by Calley who squatted down on my chest and spread her hind legs. I stared at her and said "Don't you fucking dare." She sniffed me a few times then went back to her earlier stance with a cocky expression on her muzzle. I growled and said "I'm no one's property. Especially when they are a god damn bitch who thinks she can own me." She snorted and sprayed all over my shirt, then hopped off me as Gabe asked "What's up Jake?" I slowly got to my feet an expression of irritation on my face and said softly "I'm going to kill a certain mightyena." Calley ignored me and walked over to Gabe with a happy expression on her muzzle then relaxed as he slowly scratched her ear until I yelled "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU DOG!!!!" She yelped and started running around the room with my hot on her tail while Gabe sat their laughing his fuzzy little blue tail off. Finally I caught her and pinned her biting down on the back of her neck. She yipped and I let go then said softly in her ear "I'm the alpha wolf wherever I go, do you understand me?" She rolled over on her back as a sign of submission and I grinned to myself then gently licked her muzzle. I slowly got up and glanced at Gabe who said "What's next?" I shrugged and changed shirts growling under my breath then decided "Alright I'm going to go see if there are any jobs on the board. Want to go with?" He nodded and asked "Can we explore the campus afterward?" I nodded and said "Want to get a jump on your classes?" He nodded again and pulled on his jacket then the two of us walked to the tram station.

When we got there I held my scanner up to the tram's eye and it got my identification then slowly called a tram to us. I sighed and thought "We could probably run there faster, but I'd prefer to ride the tram instead. It's a bit easier, and if there's trouble Gabe and I can always get out of dodge easily. Him by running along the wires, and me by diving out the window and flying." Gabe glanced around and said "You hear something?" I blinked and listened then turned around as Dash ran up right when the tram arrived. The noise Gabe had heard was him calling out to us. He smiled at us when he got there and said "What are you guys up to this late?" I blinked and said "I'd consider this early personally since it is after midnight but before dawn Dash." He nodded and Gabe said "We're heading to the main building. After that we're probably going to explore the school." Dash glanced at me and said "Still going to the clearing where you told the others to meet you at?" I nodded as the three of us walked onto the tram then Dasher asked "Why are you guys headed to the main building?" Gabe shrugged and said "I'm just going with Jake." I smirked and watched out the window as the tram slowly started to pull away from the station and start along the rail then said "I'm going to get a job." Dash grinned and said "A job huh, well because of my speed I got a job first day. The labs and administrators ask me to carry messages. However the mail service for the students is still looking for people, and there are a lot of other jobs open." I nodded wondering if I could handle carrying messages then thought about something and smirked. Dash blinked and said "What's up Jake?" Gabe looked at me questioningly and I explained "I'm just thinking about some stuff, no worries."

Dash nodded then said "By the way Jake, uh, how's your tail?" I blinked and said "What do you mean about my tail?" I glanced at my tail to make sure it was in order then noticed Dash was blushing and said "Who told you about my little incident in the pond Dash?" He looked down and said "I notice things." I waited for him to explain and he sighed then said "It's because of how you smelled, and how you were walking." I blinked and said "You mean yesterday when the headmaster had us all meet him?" He nodded and said "By the time we got to the others it had worn off, so I don't think any noticed." I blinked and said "How would you have noticed?" He blushed even deeper and said "I've seen a few guys who walked like that in my dorm after their first time." I nodded slowly in understanding then leaned back against one of the support rods for the tram. Dash stood their looking out the window and I asked "Dash what were you doing out so early in the morning, and how'd you know to find us?" He didn't say anything and I said "Dasher, speak or you're going out the window and we'll see how well cheetahs fly." Gabe looked at me to see if I was serious and I had a slight smirk that said I wouldn't dream of doing that to a friend. Suddenly I thought about something and pulled the only pokeball containing pokemon off my belt and tossed it. Ivan burst out and stretched then looked around and said "Interesting, there aren't any battles going on. Why'd you call me out Jake?" I smiled and said "I figured it was cramped in your ball, so I thought you should come out and get to know some of my friends." Ivan blinked and said "Wow, you're definitely a strange trainer. However what you say goes, so who's the lucario?" Gabe smiled and said "Hi Ivan I'm Gabe." Ivan smiled and extended a vine to shake. Gabe grabbed it and the two of them shook slowly then Ivan walked over to me.

I glanced at Dash who said "Good morning Ivan I'm Dasher Cheetah. However you can just call me Dasher, or as your trainer calls me Dash." Ivan extended the vine again and they shook then he glanced at me and yawned. I sighed and said "Let me guess you want to go to your ball and sleep." He nodded and explained "The pokeball is interesting in that it lets us look out at the world or sleep as we choose. I'm kind of glad that the first time you called me out was just for a conversation Jake, because some trainers just leave their pokemon in their ball until they get into a fight." I growled softly to show what I thought of that, then returned him to his ball and clipped it on my belt where it shrank. I glanced at Dash and said "I still want to know the answer to my question Dash; I just thought I'd give you a quick break there and let Ivan out." He nodded and sat down then said "I guess I was out thinking. I mean it started with me looking for a pokemon to talk to, since they seemed so enamored by you, however I couldn't find any. Then my scanner showed you were at the train station and I decided to tag along. For some reason my scanner knows where you are, as long as it's not in a dorm or classroom." I blinked and said "Wow, interesting." Gabe blinked and said "Wow Dash, you're really close to Jake aren't you?" Dash blinked and glanced down while I studied Gabe. His face basically said 'I wish I was that close to him.' I sighed and walked over then messed up his hair and said "Sorry I've been so rough Gabe. I know it's tough getting adjusted to a new school, and my callus attitude probably didn't help." He looked at me and I smiled then went back to leaning on the support rod and watching Dash. I caught Gabe fixing his hair out of the corner of my eye and said "Dash, how does your scanner know where I am?" He blinked and explained "I reprogrammed it. It wasn't that hard, I just had to enter your scanner's ID into the digital map and it shows where you are."

I blinked then slowly nodded and closed my eyes. Suddenly Gabe asked "Jake are we close to the main building?" I shook my head and said "The tram's pretty slow Gabe. The main reason it's used is so that those who can't defend themselves can avoid the pokemon while they're traveling from class to class. The only reason I decided we should use it, is if there is trouble then you can free run along the wires and I can dive out the window. It's easier than having to launch into the air, or in your case running up a tree." He nodded slowly and I stretched out then glanced at Dash who was studying me. I sighed and said "What am I setting off your gaydar or something, Dash?" He blinked and blushed then shook his head and said "I just can't seem to understand you. One minute you tell off the headmaster, the next you're relaxed while talking to someone several years younger than." I smirked and said "Sorry about the gaydar comment Dash, but in case you're wondering you and Gabe register minor blips on mine which means you're probably bi. Am I right about that?" Dash glanced down and nodded then looked at me and said "You don't have a problem with that do you?" I smirked and said "Other than the instance with the tentacle beast, I've only been with girls. However I'm bicurious, so no worries Dash. Also I've never had a problem with guys or gals who like the same sex. I have always just asked that they don't hit on me. I stand by that rule, but maybe you and I can get together some time." He blinked surprised and Gabe nearly fell out of the tram laughing. We rushed over and pulled him in then Dash looked down and said "Hey Lady Shandi seems to be out rather early." I followed his eyes and nodded then said "Alright with all the awkward questions out of the way, let's get to another matter."

The two of them looked at me and I said "Do you guys know Amanda and Danna pretty well." They both smirked and I said "What?" Gabe smiled and said "I don't know them all that well since I haven't been here that long, but you seem to know them really well Jake." I blinked and Dash said "Jake, their scent is all over you. Although to answer your question, I don't know them really well. Amanda seems really nice, however I've never spent much time around Danna. Why do you ask?" I shook my head and said "Never mind, it's not important now." He nodded and they both said "When we get to the school you should get a shower, it's not wise to walk around smelling of sex." I blinked as the two of them burst out laughing and mumbled "Wonder if you two can fly, or at the least be saved by Gabe using an aura pulse." Gabe looked at me confused and said "How'd you know one of my techniques?" I shrugged not really sure and stretched out slightly then went back to looking out the window. The other two started conversing among themselves while I silently thought about what had happened in the past. I slowly tried to think of the first time I met the girls, and every time I did I went back to that night. I sighed and thought about the first time Dad and I met them, then it went to the incident where they caught me after a bath however it was different. Instead of asking me if my ears were real, they followed me into my room and asked me other questions. I shook my head and banished the memories thinking "Why the hell is my own past changed? Also how come I have all these memories of being there whenever the girls were in trouble? Did I somehow alter my own past? If so can I alter other people's pasts, and is it worth the price because I have two sets of memories."

Suddenly the tram stopped and the doors opened. The guys walked out right away, but I waited a bit then followed them as Scribe, Haze, and a regular human walked inside the tram. I turned around and smiled at Haze who smiled back then started talking to the other two. I ran and caught up to the others who hadn't noticed I was gone because of how engrossed they were in their conversation. I smirked watching the two of them then blinked as a strange figure with angelic wings walked past. I stopped and let the others get ahead then slowly followed the figure. The figure seemed too engrossed in its own thoughts to think about the possibility that someone might follow them. I smirked and followed them at a safe distance quite glad that the others knew nothing about what I was doing. I had a vague feeling this was going to be dangerous and that the others wouldn't let me go alone if they had any idea. I knew that as soon as I saw what was going on I'd have to catch up to Dash and Gabe because they'd notice I wasn't there after a while. I sighed softly as the figure walked into a clearing that was full of those dark beasts. The figure sighed and said "How did the first attack go?" One of them stood up on their hind legs and said "Our first attack failed because of that bastard Scribe and his assistants. However we sent a man into the past, and believe he may be able to turn the tide before the battle begins. Several soldiers appeared from the future speaking of how the two renamon could have helped turn the battle. I sent Noras my second in command back. However he hasn't returned so I must wonder if he was found out." The figure sighed and said "It appears that you're soldier was most likely killed. Someone else went back in time and stopped him, because the renamon are fine."

The creature, which looked like a wolf with spikes growing out of it's back, growled and said "If my soldier was killed, then what could possibly have led to this person going back in time?" The figure sighed and said softly "It appears that our enemy knew your plan and sent someone willing to pay the price back to stop him. However with that said I also believe the enemy is oblivious to our other plans. So do you think that you can bring more of your men into this world before Chaos awakens?" I stretched slowly as the beast growled and announced the number it had brought through then asked "What is Chaos? I know those of you who are on our side fear it, yet the demons and angels who follow the light envy those creatures that descend from it. So, again what is Chaos?" The figure sighed and said softly "Chaos is both a place and an element. I can't explain it any better than that, you'd have to go there and meet the creatures to truly understand. However many creatures on this world are descended from Chaos. It was the first of the worlds to link up with this, and the last to sever all connections. Those that work for the light hope it will reconnect, but your people and those aligned with them don't. However only a creature born of Chaos can bridge the gap, as such we have virtually nothing to worry about. The bloodline of Chaos is lost so Chaos will never reconnect with the other worlds, and the blade of their king, which was said to make the holy blade Excalibur weak, is forever sealed away."

The beast smiled grimly and then vanished into the darkness as the angel took wing and flew off. I watched the clearing for a few minutes then turned and ran back to the others. As I ran I thought about what I'd just heard and silently wondered "What is Chaos? Why is it so important and why do I keep saying I'm linked to it in my runic name. I guess the only way to find out would be to ask the headmaster, but I'm afraid of what he might say. Also why is it that they think the headmaster knew their plans when I was in the past purely by accident. I mean were the girls dreaming about that night and did I possibly use it to draw myself into their past? I guess I'll have to ask them so I can find all this out, because if I don't it will slowly drive me insane." The voice laughed then said _ "Are your ready for the answers you may receive? If not then I must warn you it wouldn't be wise to seek them. Chaos is one of those things that should be left alone except by those prepared to learn everything. If you truly feel that you must seek it, then I wish you the best of luck and I truly have chosen wisely." _ I sighed and thought back "I'll find out whatever I need to. This is obviously bound in with my parents and I can't let anything that involves them alone. I guess that means I need to find more out about Chaos." The voice laughed and seemed pleased with my choice then shut up as I caught up to Dash and Gabe who seemed to have finally noticed I'd left. They glanced at me and said "Where'd you vanish to Jake?" I smiled and said "Sorry guys, I needed to use a tree, and I didn't feel like using either of you as one." They laughed and the three of us walked inside the main building to look at the job board. About halfway up the steps to the doors leading in, I was tackled by a pair of digital vixens. I blinked and said "Dash, Gabe, Please?" They looked at me then glanced down at the girls and Dasher said "Do you girls want some alone time with our infamous hybrid?"

I glared at him and Gabe said "Girls, let go of Jake. He's actually here to get a job, and you had him most of last night." I blinked and said "Was that supposed to help Gabe?" He shrugged and said "Sorry it's all I could think of." I shook my head as the girls finally got off me and pulled me to my feet. I looked at them and they said "You could have told us you wouldn't be in your room, we only found out where you were going from Crysta." I blinked and said "I didn't originally intend to leave this early in the morning then I decided 'ah fuck it I need a job' and here I am." They stared at me and I said "So how do you two feel." Amanda smiled and Danna said "Satisfied, we just wanted to see if you had class today." I blinked and said "No I don't have class. Now will you let me go?" They slipped a piece of paper into my palm then walked off. I watched them go and Gabe said "Damn you are one lucky guy." Dash nodded and said "How'd you do it?" I shrugged and said "Animal magnetism I guess." Gabe fell over laughing at that and Dash looked at him confused. When Gabe was able to speak he pulled over Dash and slowly explained to him about the incident with Calley which set them both off all over again. I walked around them and into the school deciding I'd let them enjoy laughing at me for as long as they wanted. After about ten minutes the others walked in and we walked over to the job board. Dash and Gabe read it with me and then I said "I can only think of three jobs that fit me, tracker, school guardian, or combat tutor. Which do you guys thinks fits me better?" Dasher studied the descriptions of all three jobs and said "School Guardian and Tracker are more you than combat tutor from what I've seen. You don't really have all that much patience with other people." Gabe nodded and I thought about it then said "Wonder if I can do both."

They stared at me then Dash said "If you're going for two why not go for four? From what I hear mail carriers are getting harassed by different groups, and it would be interesting to see you wearing anything other than your usual outfit." I blinked and glanced down then said "What's wrong with this thing?" Dash laughed and said "Nothing, I'm just curious to see how you would look in something different." Gabe raised an eyebrow and said "Is a black outfit all you ever wear Jake?" I blinked and said "Around school? Yeah it is, however if we ever leave school I'll wear a t-shirt and jeans. That answer your question?" Gabe nodded and Dash said "Speaking of that, you know we get this Friday off." I nodded and he continued "Well how about you, me, and some of the others go into town?" I raised an eyebrow and he explained "The town's opening a new mall and I figure we could all go check it out." Gabe grinned at the idea and I said "This one of those malls that allows everyone and everything?" He nodded and I said "Get three other people and I'll go. If you don't then I'm staying here." He nodded and said "Serious question, what's your schedule look like?" I shrugged and pulled it up on my scanner then blinked. Every week I had three classes, then the rest of the week was mine to do with. I blinked and mumbled "Ok so next week I've got, digimon training, pokemon 101, and Boot Camp again. Week after that it's Magic 101, Advanced Combat Training, and Tactics. Week after that I've got Lady Kiriana, The Headmaster, and Flying Practice. That's interesting." I showed the others my schedule and Gabe said "Hey I've got Magic 101, Pokemon 101, and Advanced Combat Training too. I can't believe you've got two personal classes with teachers and a class on how to fly."

I shrugged and said "I wonder what happened to my digimon classes." Suddenly my schedule changed and on the same week as my lessons with the headmaster and Lady Kiriana it showed Digimon advanced. I blinked and said "That answers that question." Gabe and Dash nodded then Dash said "Looks like the Flying and Digimon are on the same day. So I guess you get four days off every week." I nodded and he continued "Well jobs take place on your days off, but Sunday is off for everyone." I raised an eyebrow at that and he explained "It's because most classes start on Monday. They use Sunday as a day of rest and relaxation for the students. If you're going to actually be part of the postal service that means you'll work every day unless someone else joins the job and alternates with you." I yawned and said "I guess I'll sign up for Tracking, School Guardian, Combat Trainer, Student Mail Carrier, and..." I looked down the list then said "I guess I'll be a stable hand as well. Wonder what it means by mounts of all persuasions." Dash shrugged and I plugged the five job requests into my scanner. After a few minutes it went off and said my applications would be reviewed. I smirked and said "Watch me be turned down." Gabe studied the boards and said "I might get a job later, but for now I think I want to focus on my school work." Dash and I nodded in understanding then the three of us headed back outside. Dash and Gabe looked at me then said "Where to next?" I shrugged and said "No idea, I guess we'll just walk around and see what happens." The guys nodded and the three of us walked through the woods talking about what was going to happen this weekend. Suddenly Dash stopped and said "You guys hear something." Gabe blinked and started running at a rapid rate. I blinked and listened then said "Oh shit." Dash looked at me confused and I said "Beedrill, lots and lots of Beedrill." We both started running like mad and passed Gabe who was slightly shorter than either of us. We slowed down enough for him to catch up and I said "Any ideas on how to avoid the suckers?"

Dash shrugged and said "Fire worked last time, but I doubt you want to light the forest on fire." I glanced at Gabe who said "I don't know. My transformation messed with my head, so thinks I used to know are confused with things my instincts tell me." I nodded in understanding then said "I wonder what pissed them off enough that they seem to be attacking everything in sight though." The others shrugged then I glanced around and stopped dead. They looked at me questioningly and I said "I've been here before, and I just thought of how to avoid those suckers." Dash raised an eyebrow and I said "Follow me." They nodded and I ran through the woods until I came to a clearing I remembered rather well. The pond in the middle of it reflected the moonlight perfectly and I said "We need to dive under water, I'll cast a spell allowing us to breath, but we'll have to wait until the dang bugs fly past to come up." They nodded and I chanted quickly then said "DIVE NOW!!!!!" They nodded and the three of us dived into the water quickly. I glanced up when we reached the bottom and saw that the beedrill had just passed overhead. I smirked slightly and motioned for the guys to follow my eyes. They did and then Gabe gave me a thumbs up while Dash studied the bottom of the lake. I glanced at him questioningly and he shook his head to show he couldn't explain." I nodded and swam to the surface as the last of the beedrill passed by then breathed deeply causing my spell to shatter.

The others followed my lead and we swam to shore. I laid down on the bank and Dash asked "How'd you know this lake was here?" I shrugged and said "I had a dream about it, and the woods reminded me of it. I didn't know if it was going to be hear, but I'm glad I was right. Even if it does put a whole new twist on my ideas of what's real and what's just a dream." He blinked then shrugged and said "You know what I'm going to lay here and let my fur dry out." I nodded and closed my eyes deciding to take a nap while Gabe free ran around the edge of the lake surveying everything. I opened one eye and watched him then smiled and thought "Talk about the young having boundless energy. Wait, I'm not that old, so what am I saying the young. I should join him, but honestly I'm too tired because I don't think I got any real sleep last night." I sighed and let myself drift into a light doze as Gabe sat down next to me and started talking to Dash.
