Stars in the Rain

Ch.1

"derp" spoken & thoughts

"derp" telepathy

The sun was setting in the distance, a light fog filled the air. The usually quite and peaceful forest (for forest standards) was abuzz with the whispers of its inhabitants. They communicated in a hushed tone, nervous, and on edge. Not just something, but some things were going to happen tonight, and they knew it.

A fuzzy white light crackled in the middle of a clearing. It originated from a floating light and sent out tendrils of electricity in all directions. Slowly and slowly it grew bigger until just as suddenly as it appeared it vanished. Standing where the light used to be was a dark and shadowy figure. The fog helped conceal most of it besides for its piercing red eyes. The figure stood still never moving, but it appeared to be adjusting to it's new surroundings. Suddenly its snapped its head to the right, closed it's eyes making it nearly impossible to see in the fog, and disappeared.

** Three hours before the appearance **

My life was pretty normal, and most definitely boring. One day when I was twenty years old that all changed, and as far as I can tell it started at this moment.

"Sorry but I have plans... I can have plans!.... Uhmm the thing..at the place....Well maybe I don't enjoy being around you people...Oh I bet...Fine I'll be there in a bit." I hung up the phone and threw it onto the couch. My friend Cody just called to invite me to a party he was having at his parents house while they where away. He doesn't live there but the place is huge and unfortunately for them he has a key. Anyway me and Cody have been friends for a little over a year now, ever since he made it his mission to develop my social life and "Show me how to live" as he say. His parents have a mansion in the middle of a huge forest an hour outside of the city, and Cody, being the college party guy he is, decides to host as many parties as he can. Don't ask me why his parents are cool with it because I have no idea.

I made my way over to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. A light shadow of facial hair covered my face and my medium length snow white hair (yes it's natural) was disheveled. "Well I guess if I'm going I might as well look half way decent", I said. For the next half hour or so I took my time to get cleaned up. I styled my hair which is just making my bangs hang over my left eye. I donned my usual attire of black jeans, a shirt depicting some fandom of mine (today a Kingdom Hearts II shirt), a dark gray button up, and my white and black Chucks. "Time to get this over with", I sigh. I made my way out of the apartment I live in and got into my crappy civic.

** 45 minutes later **

The drive down is pretty easy, once you get onto the highway and out of the major city traffic. Eventually you enter this giant forest that nearly surrounds the whole city. To say the least it is quite a beautiful drive. The setting sun and rising fog gave the area a personality all it's own. It was dusk by the time I reached the mansion. Cars were lined up on the round about drive through, most of which are fancy BMW's and other cars handed to these kids by their parents. Thats the main gripe I have with many of the people Cody associates with. Most of them are the spoiled, "holier than thou art" types.

I digress, I made my way to one of the garages on the side of the house and parked my car inside, safe from any of the party goings that could harm it (I don't like parties if you can't tell). The door in the garage leads to a hallway and I start walking to the main room where Cody will surely be. He was there, sitting in a make-shift thrown in the middle of the room. I tried to avoid his notice and silently walk close to the wall into another room when he noticed me.

He gestured to me in a way that said "You, stay, there". I continued walking before he could do anything else but that just egged him on. Cody stood up with what seemed to be his attempt at a 'Captain Morgan' pose.

"Everyone! I'd like to welcome my good friend James Roden!" he yelled pointing at me. There was a resounding "Hey!" from everyone that could hear him. Cody continued, "The kid is shy so give him a welcome hand! Oh and ladies, he's single!" I was on the receiving end of quite a few curious looks from the girls in the room. I still say the only reason I get any attention is because of my hair, I mean it's snow white. Cody got up and went to the kitchen, probably for a beer, so I weaved through the crowd saying hi and giving nods to people along the way.

"Thanks for not making a scene," I said sarcastically once I was near him.

"You liked that huh?" he said handing me an open beer, "I wouldn't have to ever single time if you actually made these people remember you."

I took the beer he gave me and put in on the island, "You know I don't drink beer. Also, why would I want anyone here to remember me," I said rhetorically. As I was talking Cody flagged down a girl who started walking towards us.

"Well," he started, "You might change you're mind after talking to her." He pointed at the previously mentioned girl. "Just keep those comments to yourself alright," He finished with a smirk. Right afterwards he transitioned to the conversation to her.

"Hey Alicia." he said.

"Hello to you to," she replied, "and you're James right?"

"Yah, have we meet?" I asked.

"No, but it was hard not to notice Cody pointing you out. Not to mention you're pretty hard to forger." I looked at her questioningly, she pated her head, "The hair. Is it natural?"

"Oh, yah it is." I replied a little embarrassed.

"Don't get me wrong it's not bad. I like it." she said smiling.

"Well," Cody said, "I'll let you to be. Besides I think some asshat is trying to take my thrown." Cody turned and walked back to the main room shouting, "Guards seize him!"

"Are you really friends with him." she asked rather out of the blue.

"Sure, if you count being taken under his wing against my will friendship." I joked, "Yah I am, for about a year or so."

"I was just curious, a guy like you doesn't exactly seem like you 'belong here'." she stated. "It's easy to see you hate it here anyway."

"Really?" I have to admit I was a little discouraged. "I thought I was at least getting better.."

"Oh don't worry. No one here will notice, they are either to drunk or to horny to pay much attention to anything above the belt anyway." She earned a laugh out of me, something I haven't legitimately done at one of these, well...ever. This girl was defiantly different from anyone else here, mainly for the reason I actually want to talk to her.

"So Alica," I said her name as more of a question to which she nodded, "What about you then? you don't seem all that interested in being here either."

"Simple. Cody and I go way back. I actually grew up around here." she answered. "Do you drink?"

"What? Oh, no I hate beer, whiskey, and all of that." I answered.

"I was talking about wine. Cody's parents have some great stuff in the cellar." she smirked. I was about to word my protest, but she beat me to it. "It's fine, like I said me and him go way back. I'm sure they wouldn't mind. So, you in?" I had finally found someone at a party I actually had an interest in, so how could I say no? Besides some wine would get rid of this headache I'm getting.

** An hour later **

"James? Are you still in there?" asked a voice on the other side of the bathroom door.

"Yah, I'll be out in a minute." I was right about on thing. The wine sure helped the headache, but it did nothing for the rest of the pain now coursing through my body. It just happened suddenly about 10 minutes ago. I was fine at first but it just kept growing more intense. It was in my bones, muscle, every part of me. Just as suddenly as it appeared it stopped. "*gasp*... wh..what the hell..?" I whispered to myself.

A few seconds passed before I was brought back to reality. "James I.." I opened the door before she could finish the sentence, earing a slight jump from the girl on the other side.

"See," I said, "I told you, just a minute."

Alicia just shook her head and replied, "I know you said you don't drink, but holy shit kid. Learn to hold it in." I just made my way past her back into the room we have been hiding ourselves away in for the past hour or so. "Oh come on Roden. I was only kidding. Fucking baby." she said while turning to follow. We both laid back down on the bed, and no we didn't have sex. Besides it would be weird doing it in someone else's room. The dark purple theme and the defiantly chick clothes strewn about on the floor told me that either Cody had some interesting hobbies or that he maybe had a sister. If so he never talked about her.

"So what was that in there?" Alicia asked.

"Oh," I paused, "I..was just.. looking for pain killers. I had a headache so I got painkillers."

"It took you that long, to find pain killers. Really?" she asked eyebrows raised.

"Yah I mean Cody's parents keep them in a weird place, plus I took care of other stuff while I was in there. It was actually.."

"Okay, okay, just stop. Done." Alicia interrupted. I smiled inwardly that I managed to get her not to ask anymore. I was a little hesitant about telling someone I just meet that I experienced something that could seriously be an issue that somehow magically went away. I would take care of it later but I didn't want to risk scaring off the only friend I may have made in a long time.

"Well while you where 'taking care of business'," she started. Suddenly I noticed that she had shifted herself partially over me, something that she was now continuing to do. "I went through the shit in this room and found this." She held in her hand a condom and had a slightly triumphant smile on her face.

"I'm sure she won't mind. If she does she I'll hook her up with a friend." The smile that was on her face a few moments ago was now a sly smirk.

"H..her?" I asked.

"Yah. Cody has a sister. That's not the point though. The 'point' is." Alicia's hand moved downwards while she straddled me entirely. "Right." I looked right into her eyes. My nervousness must have been plastered all over my face, but she apparently didn't mind. She leaned in closer, her mouth right next to my ear. "Here." Her hand wrapped itself as much as it could around the bulge in my jeans as she whispered that final word seductively into my ear.

"Alicia?" I asked.

"Yah?" she replied while working on my button and zipper.

"Its been a while and I'm just not oohh.." Her hand was already under my boxers as she started to skillfully jerk me. A pretty effective way to get me to be quite. "Please.. don't stop, but.. not any further yet okay..?"

Our lips meet as she leaned down to kiss me. It was over in just a few seconds, but I wouldn't say it wasn't enjoyable. "Of course," she answered, "Just let me know when you are ready for more." The problem was I didn't know how far I wanted to go. She's gorgeous, her light complexion, make-up less face (which I think makes her more attractive), and shoulder length black hair earn her at least that. We did hit it off too. I just don't know if I want to go this fast.

Luckily, if you want to call it that, my worries about the current situation suddenly ended as my body was rocked with more pain than being hit by a car. "Gaahh!"

Alicia immediately jumped off me worry and fright easily displayed on her face. "James! Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?"

"Help... everything.. gah it fuckings hurts." I chocked out.

"I'll get help. I'll be back in just a second." she yelled running out the door to the rest of the party on the other side of the house.

Every single point on my body felt as if it was being torn and shred to pieces. It got worse when a bright white glow enveloped me starting at my limbs and working up to the rest of me. With the combination of the light and the pain my eyes where forced shut. I don't know how long I kept myself in the dark, but when I opened them no one had made it back to the room. It was just seconds later when I noticed the changes. Snow white fur now most of my body along with a full tail. Blue fur covered my limbs and torso. "Wh..what the fuck! What is this shit." I said while looking myself over. I tried to pull at the fur but the only resulted in sudden pain. Pain, that means it's real..

"James. I have Cody. Help is on the way." yelled Alicia from down the hall.

"I can't let them see me like this." I thought. Quickly, I looked around the room but the only way out was the balcony. I ran across the room, opened up the door, and without even thinking I jumped off the second story balcony. When I landed I didn't even make a noise. Not only that but it didn't hurt at all. I should have had a broken leg at least. I couldn't stop and think though, I had to go now. So, I ran off into the forest, and I didn't look back.

Cody always said, "Whats the worst that could happen," at his parties. Well I think I just found that out. I just hope I can explain this later, once I fix this.
