Enticing Darkness
Chapter 1
A woman who possessed hair the color of violet flowers sat staring from her seat high at the top of the throne. She sighed heavily bored with the event before her, the ceremony of placing their former queen to rest. The woman looked to her right at her mother, and next in line to be queen of the Lazorain race. The old woman who was being put to ground was her grandmother. Being put to ground was their form of death, although Lazorains never died, they did get tired of living and would sleep for all eternity. "Leniu," Lazora frowned visibly at her uninterested daughter "This is important I need you to pay attention." Just as Leniu was about to complain about the boredom, her stomach wretched, "Just in time" She thought as she began to quickly remove herself from her seat. She grinned at her mother, "Rogue Vampires, it is my watch." Lazora just sighed and waved her daughter off. Leniu ran down the corridor as she exited the throne room, a tall silver haired female jumped into step with her. "Evening Violet, come to join the hunt?" "But of course," Violet smiled flashing her companion a bit of fang. Violet was about four inches taller then Leniu and built more male then any female within the castle. Her silver hair fell to her shoulders lying just above the joint where her purple wings met her back. Protruding from her forehead she had two large horns that curled around the sides of her head, framing her face. Violet was the only female Lazorain to have horns she was a special kind, one that shouldn't have existed, because she was a Kage-Lazorain. She was a true warrior of their race. Leniu laughed, more of a purr then laughter, the sound could make anyone shiver male or female. Like all vampire creatures Lazorains voices held magic, command, and seduction. The two continued through the large hall grabbing equipment as they went. Violet stopped and rubbed at a horn. "They are close we must hurry, and let us pray that neither of these rogues is your mate." Leniu shrugged casually, "I've given up on that whole mate bullshit. It's been 500 years, I don't plan on getting one anytime soon." Violet smirked, "Good I'd hate to lose the best hunting partner ever." She rolled her eyes as she said it. "Haha, you know it!" They had stepped out of the castle now and were making their way fast on ground. They would have flown, but Violet's wings hadn't healed from their last battled. Reading Leniu's mind Violet signed and cursed about how slow wings healed. She then stopped, feeling the hair on the back of her neck stand straight up. "Their here..." She whispered it and looked at Leniu. Leniu was assessing their surroundings. "Just great." They were out in a meadow it was encircled with large trees. "Ambush." She sent the one word to her companion mentally. Lazorains could telepathically communicated with those they have shared blood with. Leniu had made Violet the powerful being she is. Harsh laughter filled the air. It was a trick a petty one at that. They were facing fledglings how dull! Leniu sighed, "Your pathetic voice tricks won't work on me." "Pathetic!" A young man about the age of twenty stepped from the trees to their left. He was obviously pissed. "Pathetic of you princess to come only with one other when you face so many." He sneered. Leniu tisked softly, while Violet stayed fully alert. "Many or not you're all very young and should go crawling back to your master." A smile curved her lips as she placed a command in her words. The vampire looked confused for a moment, shaking his head he returned to his senses. "Nice try Prinzessin" He held his arms out and five more vampires appeared through the trees. "None of us went home." He smiled his fangs shining in the moonlight. "Enough talk, let's get down to business, I'm hungry." Violet's eyes narrowed as she glared her pupils turned to slits. "As you wish." The vampires shrugged as his buddies started toward the hunters. Violet grinned she loved a fight. "I'll take on three you get the other two. Leniu sighed. "But I wanted three!" She pouted before she could argue anymore the vampires were on her. She quickly unsheathed her sword, parrying a half taloned hand. "Why did you come here?" She hissed bringing her sword in close for defense. "Keep one of them alive, we need to question them." Violet nodded at her as one of her arms rippled with scales and a clawed hand swiped at the chest of a vamp. The vampire snarled in pain and backed off. Leniu hissed as talons raked across her back, but she focused on the vamp she had now pinned to the ground. The vampire on Leniu's back pushed down collapsing her onto the one pinned. She only smiled as she traced a pattern over the vamp's heart. He howled fearing for his life as Leniu pressed her palm to him, she whispered in his ear "Goodbye". The symbol she had made glowed a bright orange bursting the vampire into flames. The weight of the other vampire crushed down on her. She had the strength of several men and yes this one vamp felt so heavy. She felt the pain close to her heart and knew she was losing too much blood. Her mind sought for Violet's. "I'm coming to you" Right as Violet had sent the message a large beast, a dragon, made it's way toward Leniu and her attacker at full speed. The vamp looked up eyes going wide. A large mouth full of teeth grabbed him at the waist and shook him as if he were a rag doll. Leniu sat up checking her damage. Nothing major, no important organs were hit, she sighed in relief. "Pin him to a tree and lets get back." Violet nodded her head in acknowledgement and trotted the remaining vamp to a nearby tree. She whipped her long neck around, cracking the vamps back against it. She then spat a thick black ball at him, covering him up to the neck and holding him in place. "What is this stuff?" He screamed and struggled against the thick goop. "That would be tar, one of Vi's specialties in that form, do not mess with my people! Your lucky she didn't use her acid." Violet grinned as Leniu said it, revealing a snout full of razor-sharp teeth. "Now, what were you doing out here laying in wait?" Leniu winced as her back started to re-nit itself. "Will I go free if I tell you?" He looked from the dragon, to Leniu standing before him. Only after they bowed their promise would he talk. "We were sent here to capture you to be honest. Our master made a grave mistake and wishes to speak with you." Leniu threw her hands up in frustration. "Bumsen! You couldn't just ask? You had to terrorize the land, you had to battle me, and injure me, I don't get you There's just no way we can be related." She shook her head. "Tell your master I will meet with him." "Leniu..." The vamp looked at her with burning eyes. "He will expect payment for the four you killed." He grinned. "Bumsen!" She cursed in her language. "What kind of payment does he expect? I know he's monitoring you." The vampire let out a low chuckle. "From you Prinzessin, he expects blood or something a little more intimate." His voice had changed at the word "Intimate." Immediately Leniu knew that this was the voice of the master. Her body stiffened. "He will get his payment, and From Violet?" She knew he'd bring it up sooner or later. She wanted no surprises. The vampire paused for a moment, discussing the matter at hand internally. "From the dark one we want flesh for the second in command." Leniu winced, they wanted flesh, Violet would come back shredded, but alive. Violet snarled her voice came out harsh and slurred through the dragon's muzzle. "Flesh, then you won't mind me eating the messenger." Violet was the only Lazorain that would actually consume flesh; it was due to her condition. "Dark one!" The vamp hissed at her. Violet's upper lip drew back as she snarled, her neck straightened ready to strike. Leniu turned, she felt that Violet's Kage habits were a little disturbing, it was close to cannibalism, and she wanted no part of it. She knew that Violet had struck when she heard the crunching of bones and the helpless scream of the Vamp. She left knowing it would take her companion a while to finish the clean up. Five vamps in one night, boy were they in trouble. She returned to the palace, heading to her room to change into something skimpier. Lazorain's had a simple way to change clothes, but were still naked for a short time. She thought of a small black dress that dipped dangerously low into the cleavage of her ample breasts. The dress also was made to accommodate her wings and tail, leaving her back out on display. As she imagined the dress it began to form over her small frame. She then imagined her hair clean, ridding herself of the sticky blood. As she cleaned up she had placed her hair in a bun at the top of her head, curls of lavender hair spilling just above her neck. Violet strode into the room shortly after changing in the same manner, only her attire was much, much less. The master required flesh there would be no need for clothes. "Flesh" She muttered to herself. "Dark one," She hissed the name and cursed in her native tongue. "Violet, come now honor the name they are frightened of your power." Leniu tried her best to comfort her. "Prepare yourself the master is unhappy. What was his name again?" "Damien..." She muttered it. "Let me see your back." She grabbed Leniu by the shoulders and turned her roughly. The sound that escaped Leniu made Violet wince. Most of the gashes were gone, but the deeper ones remained. Violet leaned forward and ran her tongue over the cuts very slowly; letting the healing agent in her saliva do it's work. As she covered the last wound over, she smirked. "Your lucky they didn't go for your wings." Leniu knew exactly what Violet meant by that. "How are yours doing?" Violet grinned and nodded. "We fly." Leniu's room was on the third floor, she opened the doors to the balcony and jumped onto the railing. She spread her wings wide displaying the blue and whites feathers. Violet gracefully landed onto he rail next to her, a cruel smile on her lips. "Oh yes, we definitely fly." Leniu dove off the railing head first, her giant wings catching the current of air, thrusting her toward the sky. Violet followed suit, once high enough they would only need to glide.
Chapter 2
As they glided to the lord of vampire's gate, fear began to sweep over Leniu. Both offerings she would have to give were intimate, such things she'd hoped to only feel with her mate. Violet descended to the steps first meeting the two vamps guarding the door with cold hungry eyes. The male guard gasped and started to turn a light shade of red at Violet's nude figure. The female sentry snarled in disgust, jealous maybe? Violet grinned and gave her a charming smile. Leniu finally landed next to her, bringing her wings in close, Violet often let her wings drag behind her, with the rough leathery material they were made of she had the luxury to do so. Leniu on the other hand did not; she had the soft feathery wings and even lighter bone to make them up. "I am here to meet with the master." Leniu's voice shook as she said it. It was the female guard who spoke. "He expects you, go on in." She sneered as she said it. Violet snickered, yes definitely jealous. They both walked in through the large wooden doors. The entryway was breath taking. There was a chandelier right above them. The walls were covered in a deep red satin, so red it was almost black. "Welcome to my home." Damien's voice was low, like some kind of dark melody. Leniu looked up to where the voice came from. Damien stood at the top of the stairs he was breath-taking himself. He wore very old-fashioned clothes they were of a golden color. His haunting sapphire eyes peered down at Leniu and her companion, he had brown hair that fell like a wavy sea against his back. His smile was more human than most vampires, he didn't flash fang, but the smile was still as menacing as any other undead. Leniu looked away as she noticed those burning eyes on her. She fidgeted and glanced at Violet who glared, unmoving like a statue. Damien laughed, the sound slid along Leniu like silk, she shivered. "How dare you try to roll me!" She growled at him. "Do it again and you will receive no payment!" He put his hands up as if to say "Alright no more games." He looked at Violet and grinned. "Your playmate awaits you in his room. Shall I show you the way?" Violet hissed and growled, her fangs bearing, her eyes narrowed. "We should even be here, you're the one that sent those vampires after us, this is your fault! We owe nothing!" He smiled "Oh, but you do." He motioned toward a door behind him at the top of the steps. "Come to me my pets." "We are not pets!" Leniu hissed. "We are repaying a debt, that doesn't mean you own us." She stiffened and walked toward the stairs. "Let's get this done and go home."
Chapter 3
As Leniu reached the top of the stairs, Damien grabbed her hand; he slowly brought it to the cruel smile of his lips and planted a kiss. The kiss seemed to flutter up her arm, her neck and down toward her breasts. She jerked her hand back. "You are pushing your luck." She growled while Violet only glared at him from over Leniu's shoulder. Damien chuckled and walked through the doorway, Leniu and Violet in tow. About five doors down on the right Damien opened a door. "Jerath, your guest is here." A vampire with spiky red hair appeared in the door. Violet blinked and then returned to be emotionless. Leniu Frowned as Violet entered the room and disappeared behind the door. Damien looked at Leniu "Shall we?" He smiled. Leniu only looked at him, she was scared which puzzled her, she was one of the most powerful creatures in the universe and yet she was terrified of this one vampire. They walked toward a room in the back of the mansion; the door there was covered in the same red silk as the entrance. Damien pulled out a key to open the door. The room was beautiful, a canopy bed covered in silk, there were no windows, but the walls were lit some way creating a dull light. Before she could get a better look at the room, Damien grabbed her wrist and pulled her in shutting the door behind her. He released her wrist and went to the bed; he sat down and released a heavy sigh. "We have a problem Leniu, my people have done something and I fear both of our species may be at risk." Leniu laughed, "Is this some kind of way to get us to breed with you?" "No, no I had no intention of seducing you, although the idea is very appealing. A very large group of my vamps, which had not been blood oathed to me, have gone rogue. They attacked a race on the other side of the planet. They caused a lot of destruction and now I fear this race will plan an attack on us." "And what does this have to do with Lazorains?" Leniu frowned. "What do we share in common my Prinzessin?" He placed his hand on his forehead in frustration. "We both drink blood my dear, and guess what these rogue vamps did?" "Uhg! So, these rogues went and slaughtered another race to have a feast?" "Indeed, now these Drelfarians are coming and they will slaughter vampire and Lazorain alike, we will be no different to them." He stood up moving toward Leniu so fast, that she didn't see him move at all. He took her wrist and pulled her against him. Leniu gasped, heat spreading throughout her body. "Oh, god." Leniu shuddered against him. "Damien... please don't do this." Her voice shook. Damien breathed against her neck, his fangs enlarging and lightly pricking Leniu's skin. "Prinzessin, every time I see you or hear of you my body grows tight with need." He paused for a moment, "Leniu? Are you saying that you don't feel anything at all?" He slowly licked along Leniu's neck. "Damien, I can't do this." She breathed heavily and tensed up. "What do you want?" He breathed hot against her neck "Blood." Leniu gasped as she felt Damien tense up for the strike, she cried out as Damien's fangs pierced her throat. Her body tensed up and grew hot with need; Lazorains only had intercourse with their true mate, why was she reacting this way toward him now? As Damien drank her down, Leniu's thoughts filled his head, something so intimate that only the sharing of blood could do. They would now be able to communicate mind to mind at will, or by accident. Damien saw the need rising in Leniu and groaned as he pressed her tight against the wall behind them. Leniu gasped as she felt the hardness of his body pressed to hers. "Damien..." Leniu blushed as she put both her palms against his chest and gave a push. "Enough." She was feeling light headed and off balance. Damien reluctantly released her throat, licking his lips savoring the taste of her on his tongue. AS he felt Leniu's hands on his chest he frowned and placed his over hers. "I am very sorry Leniu." Taking his hands she shoved at him gently. "You've received your payment, I'm getting Violet and we are gone." She turned and reached for the doorknob, expecting him to not let her go. Instead he was silent and walked back toward the bed. As she opened the door she jumped when she looked and found Violet on the other side. "Vi?" she quickly looked her companion over, frowning slightly. "I'm guessing the damage has already healed?" "That would be affirmative, It wasn't so bad. Just one problem... The jackass was the most arrogant bastard I have ever met in my lifetime." She sighed and gently nudged Leniu down the hall. "How did your end go?" Leniu looked down at the floor. "I'd rather not talk about it." There was a slight bite to her tone. "Let's just get out of here, we have much to prepare for." Leniu sighed as she jumped onto her bed; Violet leaned against the wall next to her. "So what are we suppose to do? Honestly Leniu we are the most powerful creatures on this planet! Do we just slaughter all those people? Destroy another race like your grandmother?" "Enough Violet! We will deal with it, besides I'm not queen yet. We must take this to my mother, however I'm sure these people will be able to reason. All we need to do is talk to them and all will be well." Leniu smiled hoping she was right. Violet rolled her eyes. "Your such an optimist Len, so are we not suppose to fight back at all?" "Of course not, if we have to we fight in self defense. I'm more concerned that if we do fight, what if we kill someone's mate? What if one is mine?" Her voice went quiet. Violet laughed. "I thought you gave up on all that mate bullshit." Leniu growled at her, her ice blue eyes glowing with anger, her fangs enlarging. Her voice came out deep and harsh. "You know deep down that I have one! All Lazorains do, except your kind!" Violet hissed. "How dare you, Leniu! I raised you, I'm your best friend, you MADE me a Lazorain, knowing full well that I would never have a mate, a husband and now you again think so selfishly and will leave me to live alone forever!" She turned faster then the human eye could ever possibly see and beat her wings furiously at Leniu. "Leniu tonight I hunt as a dragon, and whatever happens it will fall on you!" With that she fled out the balcony window. "Just great, but I can't deal with this shit now, the change is soon." Leniu groaned and jumped out the window, she spread her wings wide and glided to the courtyard where she would let the change take its course.
Pain flowed through Leniu as she opened her eyes, this always happened to her after an uncontrolled change. Every three weeks a Lazorain goes through one to let their beasts run it's course. As her senses started to awaken the smell of fresh blood filled her nostrils. She rolled over to see the dead carcass of a sylvan, a deer like creature, whose blood had a chemical in it that would make vampiric creatures drunk. 'No wonder I always have a hangover.' She though. 'Eating these damn things every time I turn, I might as well be an alcoholic.' She got up slowly, her mind spinning with nausea. As her thoughts cleared she thought about the night before and instinctively reached her mind for Violet's. "Vi, where are you?" "I'm at the castle..." She gave a mental push of an image. The image of her in her quarters laying on her bed nude, covered in blood. Leniu groaned "Shit! Vi, what did you do this time?" She sighed and shook her head. "No humans or human-like creatures I hope?" "No, I didn't kill anyone this time, just a fight with some shifters. We will all heal quickly. Now... go inform Lazora of the war approaching..." Violet cut off the connection between them. 'No one killed... good.' She sighed with relief and quickly jumped from her spot on the ground, spreading her wings wide she took off into a run and bolted up into the sky.
Chapter 4
"Impossible" Lazora growled, pushing a lock of her silver hair behind her ear. "There's no way any of Damien's vampires would do such a thing!" "They were not oathed! They could do whatever the hell they wanted without him knowing. They destroyed several families, they will seek revenge, that race will see it as an act of war." Leniu threw her hands up in frustration as she debated with her mother and paced the floor. "Then this is Damien's fault and she should clean up the mess not us." "Mother you know how vampires are! They love to fight they will not try to reason one bit! We can reason with them and hopefully produce new mates for us." Lazora sighed and placed her hand on Leniu's shoulder. "As a first class warrior, and my daughter, I leave you in charge of a reasoning party. Have Violet scout the next couple days we need a warning. Let us pray that no other problems arise." Leniu knew exactly what Lazora spoke of. "Mekosians, you mean? There hasn't been any reporting of those for several years now, we've been very careful not to change our mates too quickly. This is why we set the rules." "Exactly, but there are those that capture us and try to turn themselves, they don't know these precautions, thus creating the rotting manifestations. Now go rest and send Violet out." Lazora raised her hand and waved her daughter off. Leniu turned and walked from her mother's quarters growling to herself. "Violet?" she reached out mentally to her companion. "I'm still angry with you Len." Her voice was harsh. "What do you need?" "Scouting. They should arrive in a few days we need fair warning. I want to greet them before the vampires get the chance." Leniu huffed. "Understood, but I have a request." Her voice was very secretive, almost intimate. "What is it Vi?" Leniu was very suspicious of the tone in Violet's voice. "Share blood with me tonight..."
Leniu Laid in her bed, thinking, resting, hours seemed like days as she waited for the arrival of the Drelfarians. "Leniu?" The voice was male and startled her, and then she realized it was only Damien. "Damien... I see you figured out our private path, oh how lucky." She rolled her eyes and smiled to herself picturing Damien and her in the room that night. "Oh my dear, please do not tease me we have business at hand. You do not intend to have us vampires meet the Drelfarians. I think this is a very wise choice. Not all of my species are as calm as I, I hope that you can explain what happened to them and straighten this whole thing out for me. I would be eternally grateful. By the way, I saw something that intrigued me the night after you left, A Lazorain, but not quite appeared in one of my bars. I found it quite odd that he was more dragon then elf and his flesh seemed to rot from his body. Might you know of what this creature is?" Leniu gasped "Mekosian..." Leniu stood in the courtyard awaiting her companion's arrival. As she waited she thought of all the things Violet would expect her to do. She sighed heavily, 'why does all this have to happen now? Of all times why now when we are about to have war.' Leniu knew that Violet wanted a real relationship, however no other race was good enough for her. She wanted a Lazorain; the only downside would be that only Female Lazorains are born. It was impossible for a Lazorain to change a male of any species over, unless he was the true mate to her, he would die. However it was possible to convert other females over, the flaw with this is that they become Kages. Kages aren't all that bad they are just a little insane, or unable to control their emotions. Leniu was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't sense Violet approaching. Violet slinked up behind Leniu, wrapping her arms around her. Leniu jumped, but relaxed as she realized it was only Violet. "Vi, you startled me." Violet stayed silent a moment, then linked her hands over Leniu's stomach. "There is no mate for me or you, we could be more then companions love, then we wouldn't feel so alone and lost." Violet's voice was quiet, a whisper on Leniu's neck. "Vi, Listen to me you were once human, humans can love either man or woman, however with true Lazorains we cannot. We feel emotion for others, but we can only love our true mates. I'm sorry, however till I find my true mate I will share blood with you, if you wish. You can also pick a vampire for a lover if you need physical attentions." Leniu spoke matter-of-factly she wouldn't lie to Violet on something like this. She relaxed into Violet's arms and slid her hair to the side exposing her neck. "Vi, just be gentle please." Violet growled, she definitely had hoped Leniu would give up on a mate. She however shrugged it off and would take Leniu's offer of blood. As she leaned forward, towering over Leniu, her small fangs enlarged. She caressed her hands up Leniu's small frame until they rested on her shoulders with a firm grip. Violet leaned forward, biting down, her fangs puncturing Leniu's flesh making her gasp in pain. As Violet closed her mouth over the wound and began to gently nurse, the pain washed over with pleasure. A Kage's saliva not only held the healing agent of the Lazorain, they also held a powerful aphrodisiac. This powerful substance making their bite increasingly pleasurable. Leniu felt the warm sensation in her lower abdomen building. She gasped. "Vi, you've taken enough to make me dizzy." She leaned back into Violet to give on the illusion that she really was off balance. Violet snarled against Leniu's skin, but released her throat flicking her tongue over the wound healing it. She leaned down bowing her neck to the side. "Your turn Len." Her voice was breathy. Leniu turned and stuck hard and deep, Violet licked her feedings like she did her sex, painful and rough. She groaned loudly her head rolling back, her eyes closing. Leniu didn't feed quite as long as Violet had, due to a sudden crack in the distance. She quickly closed the pinpricks. "What was that?" She questioned as she turned to look. "Thunder..." Violet muttered it, still dazed with pleasure. "A storm is coming? Odd we don't get many on this side of the planet, what's going on?" "Maybe you should contact Damien, that looks like it's on the outside of his territory." Leniu mentally reached down the link to Damien. "Damien what's going on down there? We see a storm brewing from the courtyard of my castle." Damien gasped in pain. "This isn't good Leniu, these Drelfarians are storm callers, and they use the storms to darken out the sun so that they may be hidden from sight as they pick you off from above! Be careful and do not fly, stay in close range they don't seem as good up close. He paused for a moment, as if he were distracted. "Leniu, please be careful for me."
Leniu tried to follow the mental path back to him once more, but he had shut her out. "Damn it" she cursed. "Violet, they are coming hurry, we need to prepare!" Violet nodded and contacted a small group of soldiers. The general for the Lazorain race must share blood with every member of the army; the mental path to gather them all quickly was needed in times like these. "Done Len, what next?" "Scout, but don't fly. Damien said that the opposing army has skilled archers. Start out in a large radius, careful not to get seen." Leniu smiled briefly at her companion before turning back to the matter at hand. Within a matter of minutes the Lazorain army had assembled. Leniu immediately began briefing them. "Do not, draw swords, use magic or say anything, I will be negotiating terms, if they refuse or do not listen only when I say do you engage in battle. Understood?" "Yes Prinzessin!" They spoke in unison. A crack of lightening nearby forced Leniu's attention back to the growing storm. "They are nearly at our gates." "Len! I seem them they are coming!" Violet's frantic voice screamed across Leniu's mental path. "They are nearly out of the forest." As Leniu turned toward the forest, the clouds overhead darkened to a deep black. Out from the trees stepped a tall silver haired man. His blue eyes glowed brightly as he controlled the storm above. He was wearing heavy armor, that was red and gold it glittered in the raid. He took another step forward and his army appeared through the trees. Leniu gasped, she couldn't take her eyes off of him. He had her mesmerized. 'What magic is this?" she though fighting for control of her own body. She shook her head and cleared her throat. "Stop there Drelfarian, we mean you no harm, we did not kill your people!" "Lies..." The one word sent shivers down Leniu's spine and made her heart sink in her chest. "We seen one of your kind with the vampires, a lone male. He was more dragon then the rest of you it seems." Leniu blinked for a moment. "But Drelf, we have no males. We are a female race only. The only males we have are at home with their mates. Once bonded, we are inseparable. No male can be without his mate. You speak of a Mekosian. They are evil! Do not confuse those vile creatures with us!" "My family was killed by that creature, and I want my revenge as do my men!" He clutched his hands into fists and the storm grew louder. 'I Malovane will have my revenge' He thought to himself. 'Malovane' The name whispered throughout Leniu's mind in a warm caress, giving her some weird sense of courage. This was her mate she knew it! She wondered if he could feel the same intense need to touch as she did. Lost in her thoughts of finally meeting the male she was destined for, she was made for him, she did not sense the danger coming toward her and from her own mate! Leniu's eyes turned to the slit of a dragon's as she felt steel pierce her flesh, just missing her heart. Her eyes focused on him. "Malovane," She whispered his name tears filling her beast-like eyes. "Leniu!" Violet rushed from the trees, unsheathing her sword. Seeing the general in action the rest of the Lazorain army rushed forward. Violet hissed at Malovane, pushing him off Leniu then swiping at him with her sword. He parried her with his fending her off. "Violet! Don't hurt him! He's my mate!" Leniu mentally pushed the message to her companion. "Just great! You two are getting along perfectly... How's your wound?" Leniu placed a hand over the healing gap in her chest. "Soon to be healed." "Malovane!" She called to him trying to reach across his mental path. If he was really her mate he would hear her even without the sharing of blood.
Leniu blinked tears filling her eyes. "Malovane." She called to him mentally once more. Receiving no answer she tackled him, knocking him to the ground and away from Violet. Malovane growled baring hi two sets of fangs. "Shit, he's more dragon then we are." She though. "Stay out of my head!" he hissed, grappling with her, struggling to get free. Leniu grinned triumphantly. "It is my right!" Her voice echoed through his mind. He summoned all his strength to roll them, leaving him now pinning her. Leniu gasped heat crawling up her body. Such an attraction was only meant for mates. She blushed deeply. Malovane glared down at her furiously. He dug his sharp claws into her arms, wanting to hold her down as firmly as possible. As his nails pierced her skin she inhaled sharply. Malovane looked at her for a second then to the battle around them. Most of his army was falling injured, many close to death. "Call them off!" He growled snapping at her neck, she gasped and pressed her hips into him. His movements were dominant to her, making her aroused. "Violet, call them off and heal them." Leniu had to try hard to trace the mental path to her general. Violet looked at Leniu and hissed. She then relayed the message to her soldiers, walking toward the battleground to help heal the injured. "I called them off." She purred it into his thoughts. "I even healed your people, now please remove your claws from my arms. I'd like to heal myself." Malovane sighed lifting himself up off of her then watching the small holes in her flesh heal before his eyes. "Are you indestructible?" He feathered his thumb over where the holes had been. She laughed at him. "Not quite, but I can live through almost anything, and if you wish you could become like me. Or you can stay the way you are, either way Malovane you belong to me." "In your wildest dreams! Your kin killed mine, there is no way that I would ever even dream of being with a monster!" He tried to hit her as he roared in frustration. She quickly moved grabbing his wrist. "You will not hit me you fool, you must never strike your mate!" She gasped her eyes widening, she was hoping to break it to him slowly not just blurt it out. He looked at her puzzled, utterly confused. He was now being stared at by most of the Lazorains. They were looking at him in Awe. The Drelfarians were starting to recover and get to their feet; they too were looking at him, but for direction. The Lazorains moved in closer, the Drelfarians followed up making sure nothing bad would happen to their leader. A Lazorain with black hair spoke up, "Our princess has found her mate, and this is a wondrous day!" Malovane blinked in disbelief, "You are all crazy! What's with this mate business and this purple haired freak is princess?" Leniu sighed her skull pounding. This situation was very frustrating to her. "Look Malovane. Why don't we all go back to my castle, let your men rest, and I will explain things to you." She tried to make her voice sound as calm and soothing as possible. "Lazorains, return to your homes and rest." Violet gave the command. As the Lazorains departed she noticed a few Drelfarians went to. She glared, with jealousy. "How fast can you Drelfs run?" Malovane glared at Violet. "They can run fast enough."
Chapter 5
Once at the castle, Leniu spent many hours explaining the ways of her people to the Drelfs. She described her culture, the transformations every three weeks, the fact that none of them ever killed when they fed, and how in doing so would turn them into the very creatures they hunt, Mekosians. Glaring at Leniu, Malovane was not anywhere near convinced. "So none of you have ever killed while feeding? I find that hard to believe, why is this one horned and no one else?" He pointed behind Leniu to Violet. Violet sneered at him showing her fangs. "These horns mean that I was not meant to be brought over as a Lazorain, I was once human, doing what Leniu did is forbidden and precautions must be made with me." She hissed her response disgusted. "What is gained by becoming a Mekosian?" He seemed a little too interested in it for Leniu's taste. "Power, once one becomes a Mekosian, mine and my mothers power can no longer control the person with their new found power. We can't have any, one single, Lazorain becoming too powerful, especially near the time of transformation." She looked around the room nervously, there were some weird sensations overcoming her. "I see, so how did this Mekosian happen in the first place?" He seemed overly suspicious of his said mate. "Well that's the thing, we don't know. There has not been any recent ones made, so this one must be very old and we somehow missed him when we killed the other ones. That is the only explanation I have for you." Leniu was a little irritated now, she'd just recently fed, but she was showing every sign of needing to feed, this on top of trying to explain herself was becoming overly frustrating. "I uh, just really do not know how much more I can explain to you." Nervous? Yes she was incredibly nervous as well, she wanted to tell him anything to just have him stay. "Well, me and my men had best be going." Even as he said it, there was a small pull in his chest. He winced. What the hell was that? I'm just a little confused I think, nothing to worry about. Leniu's heart sunk in her chest, he really could and would leave her. Fine with her, if he had that kind of an attitude she didn't want him anyway! "By all means warrior leave if you must, I will not hold you here." He was unhappy with the comment she could tell. It was quite cruel of her, but the expression pleased her greatly. Malovane did not like the way his body reacted around her, it was very out of character for him. After all he DID have a family back at Drelfaria, not one he truthfully cared a lot for, but he still had one. "Maybe I'll stay a little longer. The march here was pretty exhausting. Maybe there is a bed I can rest in and somewhere for my soldiers." A bed would be great, your bed would be even better. The thought surprised him and he quickly pushed it from his mind. "Well, it is only right that I offer you my bed and your men can stay in the barracks with the lesser warriors." The thought of him in her bed sent heat flowing rapidly through her body. An odd sensation ran through Malovane, it was as if pleasing Leniu was what he was meant to do and if sleeping in her bed pleased her, he sure as hell wanted to do it. 'What... what the hell am I thinking?' Was he actually going to let her suck him into her trap so she could steal his blood? Make him her slave? No way. "Thanks, but I will sleep in the barracks with my men." The look on Leniu's face broke his heart, at first he noticed anger and then a deep sadness emitted from her, he could almost feel it himself "Please show us the way to the barracks, we are quite tired." He frowned hard as he said it, that beautiful mouth of his dipping in the corners. "As you wish warrior. I am sorry my bed does not suite you." The sadness in her voice killed him. "Violet please, you take them to their beds." She glanced at him. "Good night warrior." She left him with a bow.
Chapter 6
Sinister laughter filled the barroom as a tall, disfigured, but still handsome man stepped through the door. Heads turned and people parted to let him through. His presence was evil; anyone with even the smallest psychic talent could feel it. The women through finding him attractive cringed when they saw the large scar over his chest and face. "Daion!" A smaller man stepped out of the corner booth, and flash of green feathers and blondish hair. "Mioto." Daion grinned tossing his long Raven colored hair behind him. "How are you brother? Good I Hope, doing what we do best?" He clapped his feathered friend on the shoulder and sat down opposite of him. "Of course I'm perfectly wonderful. I've fed well this night. No one can tell what I am; to them I'm just a male Lazorain as we have planned. I have noticed that you aren't as well fed. That is a shame, you would be quite the catch without the scars." Mioto smiled. "Where is Zan?" Daion growled. "Zan is probably sucking on some Werewolf... or something else." His fangs enlarged, he did not like Zaniu's way of feeding, it was probably because she was once a true Lazorain, so she shared their desires, only for Zaniu who she mated with was not as selective. "Still jealous my brother?" Mioto smiled his fangs glimmered in the light. "Do not worry my brother there will be others. With all the confusion we are going to have going on, it will be easy to snatch another bride for you. Just be sure it's not a Lazorain this time eh?" Daion grinned and nodded. "Indeed, now see the blonde babe staring at our table? Let's have ourselves some dinner." Malovane was surprised to find that none of the Lazorain's would approach him. Actually none of them would even stay in the same room. There was beautiful red head packing up to go stay with her family. "You there, why is it that none of your kind wishes to stay here? Do I have the plague or something?" Malo looked furious, but there was a teasing tone to his voice. The red head gasped her eyes wide. "Careful warrior, a mated male might get a girl in trouble. Which is the same reason we are leaving. None of us wish to feel Leniu's wraith should you touch us." Her eyes narrowed on him as she left. Watching her leave the thought of touching another woman made his skin crawl. He would definitely not be having thoughts like that again. Thoughts like that made him feel very uncomfortable. He growled and looked around watching his men settle in for the night. A smile formed on his lips, he was thinking of going to Leniu's room for a bit. He looked and to his surprise a few of his men were missing. Ah yes, they'd found mates and went to stay with them. Damn it all. He had to ask her more questions this was out of line.
** Chapter 7**
"Cursed! Dark one, Alone, No mate for me." Violet hissed to herself as she glided toward the main city. "Go out and do this Vi, go do that." She mimicked Leniu's voice perfectly. "I found my mate your just cannon fodder now." She growled low in her throat. Disgusting. She flapped her wings and swooped down toward an alley. Creepy Place. The sign on the door was in neon pinks and blues. Strange Love. Well doesn't that sound kinky as hell? She strode in the front door and glared at a bouncer. He immediately let her through. However she was then stopped by Jerath, Damien's second in command, on her way to the private booths. "Damien said we would be having a special guest. I didn't expect you." He winked at her with a sly grin. She snarled at him. "Just tell me where they are." She could already feel the fire of fight coursing through her veins. His grin turned into a grimace. "He is receiving a lap dance up in the V.I.P lounge. The other guy got away. He was as slippery as a fish in oily water." Violet nodded and looked away trying not to grin at his corny comment. "Then I will have to give him a little dance myself." She thought for a moment. "Who is his dancer?" The look on Jerath's face was not pleasant. "Ninita." Fire blazed in his eyes, a possessive look that said. "I don't like it." He gritted his teeth and hissed out. "She's my mate." So, Ninita was a Lazorain, not of importance of course, she was not on Violet's mental path. This means she was a civilian. "I will see that no harm is done to her." She bowed before him taking her leave swiftly up the stairs. She passed several bouncers and not one of them bothered to ask her for I.D. You don't stop a member of the royal army unless you have a death wish. Damien stood outside a door and nodded at her arrival. He smiled, that evil twist of lips he always had. "Hello, Dark one, you will find what you need to satisfy you just through that door." He winked at her and pointed to the personal stage entrance for V.I.P room twenty-eight. She nodded and ran up the ramp to the door. She took a quick look around once inside to make sure Ninita was no longer in danger. Damien had set up a nice trap; Jerath's mate wasn't ever involved. Violet quickly thought of a sexy little outfit. Corset, complete with garter, hose, and spiked heels. Her hair was now tightly woven into a bun. The Mekosian would have no clue, unless it was someone she previously knew. She heard a male voice grumble about the wait. She quickly positioned her leg around the stripper pole and clapped on the lights. The curtain began to slide to the side and he would wait no more.
Chapter 8
Mioto had been waiting for hours, what was taking that bitch so long. Finally he heard the clicking of heels. The curtain stage before him squealed as it was drawn back. He grinned widely as his manhood started to jump in his slacks. Violet made her entrance, wings spread wide, gripping the cold steel pole between her thighs she slide down, thrusting her breasts forward. She threw her head back exposing her beautiful neck and shoulder line. Mioto couldn't help but notice the vein that pulsed hardest in her throat. His fangs enlarged in his mouth, the feathers that covered his body turned slightly greener, while his gaze fell up and down the lovely lady before him. Violet put on her most charming of smiles, she knew that eventually between the hunger and lust the undead fiend would snap. He would try to get in close making the kill that much easier for her. She continued to give him good views of her feeding points, tempting him to make his move. Mioto felt saliva fill his mouth, raping and then eating her was all he could think about. He bet her smooth flesh would taste so sweet. He quickly blinked his eyes. No Mioto, you are not here for eats, you just did that thirty minutes ago. He refocused his thoughts to the swell of her breasts, her firm thighs and tight ass. Violet frowned it shouldn't take nearly this long to provoke a Mekosian. She purposely let her fangs enlarge to show him she was into this. Her job, him, the thought of sex. She then swung in close and winked at him, stretching her body out on the stage, just out of his reach. "So, what's your name?" Her voice came out a purr. "Mioto Hymai." His groin throbbed as her voice seemed to slide like fur over his skin. He slipped some gold coin on the stage. "Come closer so I may pay you for your services." His voice was like venom from a snake, paralyzing and poisonous. Violet immediately recognized the magic in his tone. "Or we could just get it on right here and you can pay me afterwards." The thought of actually seducing such a hideous creature was tempting and curiosity was pressing on her hard. Her first Mekosian that was slightly civil was very enticing, yet so dark. Then again, wasn't she referred to as the dark one? Mioto's lips curved into a cruel smile. "What an excellent idea. I'll have you screaming my name before we are through." She laughed at him. "No you'll be screaming mine, Violet by the way." He raised an eyebrow at her; her answer was a sly grin and a quick movement with her long tail. Mioto's eyes widened in surprise as he realized he was now restrained by a very muscular tail. He swallowed hard, his eyes worried. "No worries, pet, we will do what we intended to, but you must know lover, I'm a Dom and I do not like orders." Her smile could not have been more evil. Mioto nodded quickly, he felt like prey when he was a predator. This woman, a Lazorain, at that was taking control of him. His blackened heart leaped into his throat as he was in one dangerous close encounter with the enemy. Violet laughed as she toyed with her Mekosian pet. "I do know what you are, but since I am rather angry right now. I may let you live just to piss off an old friend. Her smile was indeed very cruel and slightly cynical. Mioto relaxed, he could work with that. He was a master in bed as a harpy and he would be a god in bed as a Mekosian. He would fuck his way out of death. "Well then mistress, if you would kindly let me go, your slave awaits your demands." Violet's grin widened. "Oh, I can definitely work with that." She unwrapped her tail and pointed to her spiked heels. "On your knees slave."
Chapter 9
The sweet scent of innocence filled the air as the monster made his way through a civilian city. It was risky, very risky; he was right in the middle of enemy territory. The Lazorain's watched over their people and servants alike. He was attempting to snatch a child from her bed in order to revive and feed his brethren. The child of choice was a human; he dare not take a Lazorain's young. It would be rather hard too since they are awake at night. Not to mention rather easy to track due to the mental link to its parents. He crept into a house as far from his enemies homes as possible. The less likely he could be caught the better. Once he made sure all in the home were asleep, he went back to the child's room. The family there had a boy and a girl. Since Zaniu was not around at this time only the girl was needed. Daion dipped his fingernail into the child's mouth, releasing a sleeping poison that would keep her quiet till he at least got out of the city. His fangs enlarged as he picked her up from the bed, the smell of her made him pain with hunger. He cursed under his breath and resisted the urge to gobble her up right then. He had to run and quickly.
Malovane had not heard a thing. The silence was beginning to haunt him. He felt empty, like a dry husk. His skin now itched and felt cold. He had been finished with his smoke for some time now, but he refused to go back to the demon lying in wait. She did something to him. He could feel it deep down, a witch that cast a spell. A spell he would never escape from. He cursed in his native tongue as he paced back and forth. "Why?" He growled. "Why would she do this to me?" "Do what to you Novio?" He jumped at the sound of her voice, she seemed so innocent, so sweet, but this beautiful flower had the thorns of the blackest rose. His skin warmed instantly at seeing her, but his thoughts of her were not of warmth. "Nothing." He replied for lack of explanation. His gaze rested on her once more. She was absolutely gorgeous. Her ice blue eyes glowed in the darkness, her pale skin luminous and that beautiful lavender hair was blowing gently in the wind. His eyes drifted to the swell of her breasts where he finally realized. "Your naked..." She gasped blushing. She had completely forgotten that her dress was shredded with her all too quick transformation. "Oh, um yes, it seems as though I am." She quickly thought of a blue evening gown to cover her body from his intense stare. She then smiled shyly looking toward the earth. "How is it you do that?" His gaze still rested on her breasts as he spoke, mesmerized. "The clothes thing?" She was hoping it wasn't about how she ran around nude so freely. "Yes that." He unconsciously walked to her and feathered a touch along her arm. "It's magic. Most of my race can do it starting at the age of eight. Until then their parents cloth them." She did not tell him with a few blood exchanges, he too could fabricate clothing from air. "How interesting." He tugged on the strap of her dress gently. "Wow real satin, amazing." The thought of ripping the small strap creeped into his mind. He instantly felt his manhood jump to life beneath his sheet. He clutched it tighter to his waist. "Shall we head back inside?" She touched his arm and gently turned him toward the castle. "Momentarily." He looked around at the large stone structures encircling the courtyard. Some stone formed the shape of dragons; others had no specific shapes, just walls or archways. "What are all these stones for?" Leniu froze for a moment, did the question frighten her? "Well this one." She was pointing to a large onyx dragon; rubies had been melted into it to form eyes. It was a large statue and rather scary. "Was my father's beast. He was a great man, died when I was ten." "Sorry to hear that... What does your dragon look like?" He touched her silken hair letting it fall down and over his forearm. The light brushing brought back memories of their mating. He shivered in response as his body began to tingle. Leniu, I am rather disappointed in your General. Damien's voice chimed in, always at the worst timing. Oh? She placed her hand on Malovane's chest. "Let's get you upstairs and dressed. You must be freezing out here." Indeed, she let our enemy free, but do not be too hasty. She did torture the hell out of him first. His voice held amusement. Malovane nodded at her. "I would like to hear more of your father." She turned him to the castle gates, fury boiling her blood, but she kept her calm resolve. I'm going to kill her if she leaves that out of the report. "You would Malo? He was a wonderful leader! I admired him greatly." Damien's haunting chuckle resounded in her head. Novelita go easy on her. I'm sure her report will sate your blood lust. Hunger? Shit, she hadn't fed yet. She had just took from Malovane last night, twice in two days would be cutting it close. "I'll meet you up there; I need to take care of something really quick." Violet would definitely not be up for some blood sharing so she would have to ask another high ranking soldier. Preferably one that she had already fed from. She disliked sharing blood with new soldiers. She sighed as her mate walked to the top of the grand stairs. She waited until he was out of sight and headed toward the warriors barracks. She knew no one would refuse to offer, she was their princess and it was their duty to see to her good health.
Chapter 10
A rustic, damp smell filled his nostrils as he recognized footsteps near the mouth of the cave. Daion had returned and brought him some nurishment. Mioto's head still sang of pain as he stood up to go dine. "Brother quickly now, before they notice the child missing." Mioto heard his brother's voice, though he knew Daion to be right outside, it sounded as if he was quite a distance away. "Ah Shit, the rots got your ears, or are you just that slow?" The older Mekosian teased. Daion dropped the girl, cracking her head off of a rock, but it mattered not, he had already slit her throat once far enough from the city. He went to help his brother from the mouth of the cave, Finally the injured Mekosian reached his life giving flesh. Mioto's face contorted into a frown before he found the energy to take a clawed swipe at Dion. "Bastard!" He growled furious. "I wanted to savor her, to take my time while she was alive!" "You are in no condition to play, no playtime for you." Dion scolded him. "Feed quickly! We do not have time for this." He growled. "Do not speak to me like a child!" Moto hissed the words and hit the ground with his fist, breaking several of the bones in his hand. He yowled in pain, were he well the ground would have shook beneath his powers and his bones harder then steel. He gave Daion a loathing glare before hastily tearing chunks of flesh from the innocent being at his feet.
Malovane waited in the grand hall for his demoness. It seemed like he had waited hours and then his lavender haired seductress flittered through the door. The breath caught in his throat, her hair was fluttering gently around her shoulders. Her lips were slightly parted in their pale color, her dainty fangs peaking out beneath them. He had changed clothes and now had to push away the collar of his shirt to rub the now throbbing bite marks, the marks she claimed him with. Leniu looked up at him, he looked beautiful, his long silver hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, he was dressed formally and he smelled clean. "Malovane...I'm sorry that I took so long." Her eyes dropped to the marbled floor as she continued to walk toward him, her strides smooth, like that of a large cat. Malo couldn't help, but notice the sudden flutter of her lashes, the biting of her lower lip, all of which he found rather enticing. "No, it's no problem at all, now where were we?" He asked taking her arm. She smiled shyly. "You had asked about my father. Are you still interested?" She looked up at him smiling. However her smile quickly turned into a frown. She looked at him questioningly. Malo took his free hand and placed it over his abdomen. "Ah, yes I'd like to hear more, but I think we should talk over breakfast?" "Umm oh yes, that's right your species needs solid food. We can head to the dining hall and have the servants cook you up something." She supplied. "You have servants?" His eyes widened with suspicions. 'Slaves, I'll bet.' She had of course read his thoughts and winced. "Not slaves, they are happy to be here and free to go whenever they wish. However if we do let them leave for ever we perform a memory wipe to prevent our secrets from being let out. They are also paid handsomely and offered a much longer life span." He nodded his acknowledgement as he followed her into a long room. A very long table lay in the center of the hall. "How many people eat here?" Malovane asked. "Well." Len clapped her ands and several humans entered into the room. "Generally only the humans eat here, best I could do is have a glass of..." Her cheeks filled with color, she was so casually talking about drinking blood to someone who would most likely find the idea repulsive. Malo's stomach did a small heave, so yes as she suspected it was not a dinner topic. "So, what kind of food can I get?" He was thinking some finely roasted Sylvian would taste amazing, and he was starving. She smiled at him and bowed. "Whatever you desire, they will make for you, just give them your demands." He frowned at her, the "demands" thing he did not like. While being a General to his race he was very righteous and slaves didn't feel right. However they all looked at him as if they were eager to hear what he said. He gave them his order, he felt awkward giving it, but as soon as the menu escaped his lips the humans scurried about mumbling things about wine and dessert. Their willingness and excitement was definitely not of a slave, but of someone who enjoys what they do. "So what do you pay them?" Malo asked curiously. Leniu blinked at him as if he'd asked the dumbest question possible. "Why do you wish to know?" Her voice had dropped and her expression became cold. This was the demon he had slept with, the dark, enticing voice of something only seen in nightmares. The corners of his mouth dropped lower. "I'm just curious as to why they are so eager to do the work of a slave." He crossed his arms over his chest and glared at her with an icy gaze. Her stare matched his perfectly as her blood began to boil. "That is of no concern to you Drelf." She bowed to him. "Enjoy your mea, I have some things to address. I will send your men to join you." With that she bowed once more before disappearing into thin air. 'Guess she won't be answering my questions then.' Malo grumbled to himself and took a seat to wait on his much needed food.
Chapter 11
Violet waited in the warrior hall, her silver hair pinned into a bun, making it uncomfortable for her to lean against the wall. So, she stood staring at her report and waiting on her master. She let out a heavy sigh as she felt Leniu's presence materialize near her. "Len, I'm so sorry, I had him and I let him go." Leniu finished phasing and sighed at her companion. "Vi, it's okay I know, and some of your actions are my fault." She walked up next to Violet and slid an arm around her waist. "I understand, now open up to me and let me merge our minds." Violet whimpered as a child would during a harsh scolding. She removed her mental walls and let her master have full access to her memory. Leniu hissed at some of the images that filled her mind. Violet and a harpy, no a Mekosian having intercourse on the dancers state, in the chair, on the stripper pole, against the wall and finally, she saw the creature in a fetal position in the corner of the room. Violet's eyes glowing, her fangs elongated, snarling words of hatred at the creature. "Well at least you didn't let him enjoy it. However Vi, he will have a vendetta for you. He will come for you and it won't be very forgiving." Violet chuckled. "I'm actually looking forward to it." Her amused look was quickly replaced when she got a look at Leniu's glare. "Sorry..." She let her wings droop as a sign of submission and regret. "Ugh, Vi what am I going to do with you?" Leniu sighed and walked over to the boards. "Previously a harpy... Wow that's so strange, haven't seen any of them around in a very long time. That means we are dealing with very old and powerful undead or that harpies still exist somewhere." Leniu began to ponder on the situation at hand. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. "Len? Sorry to bother you, but to bother you...Where is your mate?" Violet's grin was all too noticeable. Leniu hissed, but grinned as well. "Ah, lovers quarrel you know, but don't get your hopes up. He was being nosey about what we pay the help." Violet nodded in understanding. "Yeah I can agree with why you don't want him to know we give and take blood with them. Humans are addicts, you do something they like once and they are hooked, and Demi-immortality is like a dream come true for them." Leniu nodded. "Indeed. So... how do you want to handle this Mioto situation? I noticed he didn't say anything about the other male with him." "Not a single word. "Violet's eyes were cold once again, it wasn't often they displayed any emotion other then a blank stare or anger. Leniu growled. "Damn, let's hope there are only two of them then. We find Mioto, we get the other and be done with this whole ordeal. I want to get back to the rogue shifters and vamps." "Heh, the easy stuff." Violet snorted. "So like you to not want a challenge." She chuckled tempting Leniu to take the bait. "Are you saying I'm growing lazy?" The queen to be raised an eyebrow and grinned widely. "I take that as a duel request, to the Arena!" She unsheathed her sword from the weapon rack and charged down the hall. Violet's eyes held excitement as she grabbed her own sword and gave chase. The two looking like children playing tag, only this game was a bit more then tap your it.
Chapter 12
His reflection in the dark water haunted him, his boyish good looks faded and he looked as he was, a 3,000 year old. "I need more!" He hissed to his companion. "I can't look like this!" He wailed, before throwing a rock into the water to disperse his reflection. "Be quiet now brother, I am working on your condition just stay there and keep quiet! I don't want you to wake these humans up. You wake them up and I will leave you here to their mercy." Daion hushed him peering at the village before him. His heat vision told him there were about one hundred and fifty humans living in this village. A few of those had recessive shifter DNA, better meals for his brother. There was only one problem with these meals, choosing a victim whose shifter DNA won't kick up in self defense. He had to choose very wisely. "The Lazorain valley is probably searching for my pre-breakfast snack by now." Moto turned and looked at his creator with worry. "Most likely...I think I found one, stay put. I'll be back in a few. I'll leave this one alive, but we must move fast." With that Daion Jumped up into the tree top and launched himself smoothly onto the nearest roof. 'That bastard better hurry up, I want my revenge on that silver haired bitch.' Mioto thought as he looked skyward, hoping he would catch a glimpse of a dragon flying overhead. Whether the dragon be the specific one he wanted or not didn't matter, their kind was in for a hellish year to come. Hearty laughs and cheers designated off the dining room halls. Congratulations and crazy stories were told, but Malovane was not interested, he was missing his purple hair demoness. He felt the point of her bite on his throat and heat spread to his loins. He breathed in a heavy sigh, where had she gone? He did not know, but he felt an emptiness in him, the anxiety of not know if she was in danger. "Sir? Sir! Malovane!" One of his men called to him. He had not heard the soldier until his name was shouted. "What is it soldier?" The soldier laughed at him. "Me and the boys wanted to know, how good was she?" He chuckled once more as another soldier made the comment. "Pretty damn good to put the Captain in such a daze." Malo's eyes narrowed slightly, but he tried to play it off. He didn't want anyone talking about HIS demoness like she was just another whore to be had by all. No, she was his, 'Mine'. He forced a playful smile and lied. "And what makes you think I had her at all?" Soldier one chuckled and elbowed the guy to the right of him. "Could be the fact you stayed in her room all night, ya?" Malo's blood grew hot, she may be a demon, a seductress, but he did not like his men's questions. A strange possessiveness filled his head, a beast of jealousy. "Yes I did, but that doesn't mean..." Malo was cut off by the hooting and hollering of his men, cheering their Captain at his success. Malo had to leave the hall he could no longer stand the curiosity of his comrades. Since he had finished eating he had no qualms about leaving. "I think I need another smoke." He pushed up from the leather clad chair and swiftly removed himself from the room.
Chapter 13
Violet's thin lips formed a cruel smile. "Rules?" She asked in a cold tone. "Hmm." Leniu's answer had to be specific or Violet would fight cheap. As she pulled her hair up into a bun, she thought of all the ways Vi would find around a rule, even being a specific one. "No mind reading, No dragon form or partial transformations, no fatal wounds, or even trying to inflict one, no vital organs..." "Saelias Len, that's a damn long list, if you keep it up we will be going over rules till dawn breaks." Violet sighed tapping her foot impatiently. "Okay okay, Don't kick me in the wings though, you know they fracture easy." She shrugged folder her feathered swings close to her body and leaning back into a defensive stance, her sword a barrier in front of her. Violet grinned. "I know all too well about the wings." She chose an offensive stance, her sword held to the side and head level for quick jabs. Though in a defensive stance Leniu actually struck first, zig-zagging her way across the dampened sawdust, behind her opponent. She quickly made a side slash, but was parried by Violet's quick movements, being thrown back a few feet due to the impact. She slid across the area floor as her feet hit the ground in perfect form. "You are going to have to do better then that." Violet smirked bringing her sword lower and holding it with both hands. She phased, disappearing four feet away from Leniu and reappearing right in front of her, both Lazorains were very fast however, right at the last second Leniu moved bring her sword skyward, clipping Violet's thigh. Violet yowled, even though the small scratch would heal almost instantly, the process of healing still burned like fire. "My turn..." Violet jumped into the air when Leniu moved her sword up to block, the General vanished, appearing behind her master and slid the sword along her back, just below her delicate feathered wings. Leniu's eyes flared bright blue as the pain rushed through her, Violet had been careful, however and not cut clear to her spine. With the slightest added pressure she could have done so easily. Leniu regained her surroundings and charged at the silver haired woman once more.
Malovane had wandered around for some time, collecting his thoughts and trying to make a clear decision on his situation. The emptiness in his chest continued to grow, to the point that he was consumed with it. He now found himself in a new part of the castle, he had snuck passed the throne room just before it. There were weapons littering the walls, each had a plaque below or above with a Lazorain's name, date of birth and rank. He paused as he came to the higher ranks, noticing two weapons missing. The names on the plaques were none other then his demoness, and Violet. Continuing down the hall Malovane's sensitive ears picked up muffled sounds of grunts, howls and the sweet sound of steel clashing against steel. He grinned now jogging through the lengthy corridor. He could see an archway and dim lighting coming through the passageway. He slowed down as he neared the entrance and listened. Both voices he heard were undoubtedly female, the grunts were of pain. He peaked into the room, noticing in the dim light that the room was circular in shape. Seating stands surrounded the entire room. Then in the middle of the room he saw flashes from the swords as they clashed. The beings who wielded them were moving so fast that his eyes could barely keep up. They had both caused many gashes and sever wounds to each other, that no mortal could have survived, yet they continued on, continued to test each other, to see who was the better warriors, until a subtle breeze drifted to them, carrying the scent of sweet cigars and forest. Leniu paused as her nostrils flared at the scent, her mate was very close by. She had not sensed him come into the arena, he was not suppose to be there. Suddenly pain engulfed her, she had not been moving for only a second and in that distracted moment, Violet's sword pierced her shoulder straight through Malovane's heart about burst at the sight, from his angle it looked as though, she was stabbed through the heart. He quickly ran over as he saw Violet put her boot onto Leniu's shoulder to shove her off the sword. He paused in dismay as his demoness started cursing up a storm. "God's damnit Vi! I was distracted and Cuso that buns. you took a cheap shot! I demand repentance!" Violet's eyes never changed, but a sly grin was spread wide across her face. "To be honest I was aiming for your heart, but when I noticed your focus elsewhere, I changed my target." She glanced at Malovane and snarled. "Guess lover boy was what distracted you." She spit to the side as he approached them with caution. Leniu punched Violet in the shin. "You going to help heal this or what?" She glared at her first class soldier. Violet sighed and kneeled down, a grin continued to paint her face as she looked at Malovane, in the same curiosity he had toward the two of them. "Shirt." She growled, it was so fun for her to boss Leniu around, she didn't get to do it very often. The princess sighed away her shirt, leaving her partially nude in front of her attacker. She glanced at Malovane momentarily and blushed, looking away just as fast. "Hurry up! I'm bleeding out!." Violet chuckled winking at Malovane, confusing him even more. Her fangs lengthened as she drew her lips toward Leniu's shoulder, but suddenly moved lower toward her breast. She knew without looking that Leniu was a bright shade of red, embarrassed by her display in front of her mate. Malovane stopped dead in his tracks, about two feet away from the two beautiful Lazorain's. He saw Violet's fangs enlarge and a wave of fear swept over and through him. He could now smell the faint scent of cherries associated with Lazorain blood. His nostrils flared as he watched Violet's tongue trance the swell of his mates breast. Watching the two of them together was very erotic and like nothing he had ever seen. Finally his curiosity got the best of him. "What the hell is she doing to you?" It came out in a growl of possessiveness. Violet snarled at him as if saying, "mind your own business." Leniu looked at him, shame apparent on her face. "Well she is suppose to be licking my wound, thus healing it through the saliva, but she is insisting on putting a show on for you, because she is jealous...Ow!" Violet was still angry at Leniu, oh yes she was and since Len just openly told Malovane, she was purposely trying to make him uncomfortable, she bit into Leniu's wound spitefully. "Sorry, fangs scrapped." She shrugged causally. Malovane growled. "Stop being a spiteful bitch and do your job. Your princess is obviously way to lenient with you." "Hmph!" Violet retorted then dragged her tongue along the wound to hasten the healing process. She then flipped her wrist upward in front of Leniu's lips. "Drink to relish the blood." She growled. Leniu gave Violet a glare of death before striking her wrist deep with her fangs. She drew from Violet fast and hard in revenge. Her intent to make the taller female pass out. She forced a mind merge to monitor Violet's vital signs, making sure to take just enough. "Len, Len! You are taking too much!" Violet had a panic in her voice and as she tried to pull Leniu grabbed her wrist holding it tightly. "Do you really want to do this in front of him?" Venom laced her voice. Malovane watched sadly as his realization was confirmed. She was a demon, a killer, heartless. He expected her not to stop, but Leniu's eyes met his and softened, she released Violet's wrist and looked away. 'I expect you to be more respectful the next time we are all together.' She pushed Violet away from herself then stood up, wincing as the wound formed a scar on her front and back. She watched Violet heal her own wound, then turned to Malovane. "You must forgive her behavior, she means well, but is mentally complicated." Her gaze turned back to Violet. "Soldier you are dismissed." Violet growled and saluted before storming off. Malovane sighed and tried to make light of the situation. "Unruly subordinates are always entertaining to deal with. Especially that one I'm sure." He forced a chuckle. "Mm." Leniu quickly thought of a small halter top to cover her chest. "Yeah, that one is a handful, but she is mine, I made her." "Soo... You never did tell me what your father was like, or what your beast is like..." He moved closer to her as he spoke trying to get a look at where the sword pierced her. "Yeah, well, something came up, but if you would like I"ll answer the one question." She had picked up on his thoughts and lightly placed her hand on his arm. "It is nearly down, so perhaps I could tell you upstairs in ou...my room." He chuckled and felt more at ease by her touch. You will only answer the first?" She was now leading him back through the warrior hall. He watched her put her sword back up on it's rack, when she was done she linked arms with him, continuing toward the throne room and back to the secret chambers.
Chapter 14
Mioto hissed as the female was thrown at him. Her mouth was opened in a silent scream, petrified by fear she was unable to use her voice. "Good, you actually left her alive." He grinned eying the young female. She was around sixteen years of age, blond, thinly built, an athlete possibly. He smirked at the frozen expression on her face. "It is alright beautiful, it will only hurt...a little." She kicked at him and thrashed her arms wildly. "Hold still!" He hissed. Daion turned his back to the gruesome scene that was about to happen in front of him. While still a monster he was never into the whole molest and devour tendencies of Mioto. He grimaced as he heard whimpers and the sound of the girls tears hitting the dirt. "Hurry up." He breathed, his body was stiff with tension. Only when he heard the sound of crunching bones did he relax. "Thank the gods," he whispered and then recoiled in pain. He cursed in his native tongue. Certain gods punish him for taking their name in vain and unfortunately grouping them together counted. He lifted up the front of his shirt and frowned at the large burn from the wrath of a god.
Malovane watched her as she lay stretched out on her bed, she looked gorgeous. She looked absolutely beautiful. He listened quietly, looking over her perfect body as she told him about her father, the man really sounded like a hero. "He disappeared shortly after the first Mekosian war. My mother was grief stricken. She was never the same after that. He left all of us without a single word. It was definitely not like him. He was so full of honor, yet he left us. That's when she first hired Violet as my nanny." Leniu sighed yawning as her energy began to drain. "The sun is coming up, isn't it?" He questioned looking at her now lined eyes. She noted at him and he smiled. "Thank you for telling me about your father and childhood." When her eyes drifted closed he pushed off the wall he had been leaning on. "How soon?" "A minute maybe less." She couldn't even open her eyes to look at him. They felt like boulders were attached to them, weighing them down with such heaviness. "Do you die like vampires do when they first sleep?" He held his breath waiting for her answer. "I am not undead Malo, just because I drink...blood...does not." That was all she managed to say before her higher brain functions shut down and she was in the day sleep. Malovane's mind raced. It was amazing how fast she went motionless. He was concerned and ran over to her quickly, he checked her pulse. It was there slow and faint, but she had a pulse. Her breathing was very shallow, she was not dead at all simply in a very deep sleep. He sighed a relief and crawled in place next to her.
Mioto looked at his reflection once more. A huge sigh of relief woodshed out of him. Everything was normal again. His face no longer looked like that of an ancient man, his skin was now smooth and flawless. He stretched and yawned looking toward the horizon. "No fun, morning already. Guess we better hit the cave. It's going to take too long to get back to base." Daion sighed. "I definitely preferred my bed, but you are very right. There is no way we can reach the underground mansion. I wonder if Zan is back yet." He began walking back toward the cliff. "Doubt it, you know when the urge hits her she can't control herself. She stays out for weeks." Moto followed him hastily. "Yes...She retained certain Lazorain needs and I have to say I do get jealous." Looking to the sky he quickened his pace. "Faster, we don't have much time!"
Malovane tossed and turned most of the morning. Unfortunately he could hear the servants running about the castle. It was also hard to get to sleep since his mind was racing. He couldn't get over the fact that the attraction to Leniu hit him so very quickly. So quickly in fact that he did not completely understand it. His thoughts just wouldn't calm down. He felt movement next to him then her hand grabbed his. He felt a warm sensation of calmness fill him. "Sleep." The word repeated itself in his head over and over. Her voice was soft, soothing. He wanted to fight it, the urge to obey her command. He cursed in his native tongue before the power of her voice forced him into a deep sleep.
Chapter 15
Damien hissed to life as his heart started beating once more. He sighed and shook his head. He immediately jumped up and got dressed. He had business to attend to at the Purple Lightening. He was also hoping for another shot at the Mekosians. As much as he hated the fact Leniu had found a mate, he knew if he bothered her without reason he would push her farther away. He quickly materialized inside his office and gasped. The office was a mess. "Jerath!" Damien began to pick up his documents. He grabbed a paper and looked up to see Jerath standing infant of him, bloody. Damien looked him over very quickly, he was sweating, there were bite marks covering his neck and arms. He also had some new attachments, wings, a tail and spikes protruding from his back. "My gods Jerath, what happened here?" Jerath's eyes held pain. "There was a woman, like those two from the bar the other night, she had another with her, but they took several dancers." His voice turned into a growl. "Including Ninita." He leaned against the doorway. "They also took some documents." Damien growled. "Which ones?" He walked toward Jerath and flipped his wrist to him. "I offer." He said closing his eyes slowly. "The treaty with the Lazorains, as well as anything with Leniu or Violet's name on it." Jerath's eyes flicked to Damien's before hit bit swiftly into the other male's wrist. Damien closed his eyes as he pushed energy into Jerath, to help heal the wounds and eliminating any infection. A power he had gained by sharing blood with the Lazorain princess. At least with the recent break in, he now had a reason to contact Leniu directly.
Leniu sighed looking at her mate. He was absolutely gorgeous. "Just beautiful." She whispered it aloud. She knew that he would be hungry when he awoke. She ran down the hall, through the secret door and into the kitchen. She was surprised to find her mother there. "Queen Lazora." She bowed her respect. Lazora sighed rolling her eyes. "We will go over how many times I've told you to call me mother later. First of all I have not yet congratulated you on your Drelf, I'm happy for you. Secondly Damien needs to see you and a small squadron at the Purple Lightening immediately. Thirdly, you were right and I'm sorry for doubting you. Be extremely careful my daughter, Mekosians are sly." Her voice held no worry to it at all, being queen she was unable to show much emotion. Leniu growled, she hated the coldness of her mother. The fact she said everything with no emotion. "I will be just fine, Queen Lazora." She saluted her mother and waited for her to depart. Lazora sighed and waved her hand dismayingly as she quickly walked through the doorway and vanished. Leniu sighed a relief. She only called Lazora, mother, when she was angry. She took a deep breath before opening up her mental barriers. She then went to the servants quarters and asked for them to make some food. Once made, it was to be brought up to Malovane in bed. 'Novia, did your mother give you my message?' Damien's voice resounded in her head. Leniu smiled. Damien's voice could always give her chills. 'Yes, she did. I need to take care of a few things, but I will be over shortly.' 'Please do hurry, it is rather urgent.' Truth is Damien was just looking forward to seeing her. Even with the current circumstances. She felt the link between the two of them break. She contacted Violet and gave orders to get a small force together. She was unsure what the urgent matter was, but she did have an idea. She needed to wake Malo up, however she wasn't sure how he would take to the news. He would not be happy knowing where she was headed.
Chapter 16
Leniu walked into her chamber, what she saw took her breath away. Malo was started out on the bed, his hair a silver waterfall covering the pillows and falling off the side of the bed. His entire torso and lower body were uncovered revealing his muscled legs, stomach and chest. He breathed deeply, in an undisturbed sleep. "Awaken." The word was, but a whisper of her breath, but the command immediately caused him to rouse. Malovane felt as though he was in a very thick fog, as he tried to wake up from what seemed like a deep sleep. Then suddenly the fog cleared in an instant. His eyes flicked open, his vision blurry. An image before him caught his eye. His demoness was in the room with him. Not only did he see her, but he smelled her. She was wearing a black gown that just passed her knees, her hair was down, he had never noticed before just how long her lavender colored hair was. Leniu noticed his gaze on her, letting her eyes meet his, recognition flared in his strange colored eyes. Guilt swept over her. "I didn't mean to force power over you." she whispered. He sighed heavily then glared at her. "Then why?" "Well, being my mate even in my day sleep, I can sense your discomfort. I sent you to sleep because I could not stand your being restless. To ease you I gave you the command." She approached the bed as she spoke, cautiously. "Please do not be angry with me." "My discomfort was none of your concern. It was not all that bothersome." He continued to glare at her. "And, I sense your magical command isn't the only reason you approach your mate with such caution." He stood up, learning down at her with suspicious eyes. "Why is it you did not wake me the moment you woke?" Leniu sighed heavily. "I had some things to take care of, so I didn't feel the need to disturb you." She lifted her chin up feeling a sudden wave of defiance. "Breakfast will be brought to you shortly. I have an appointment with the vampire king." Malovane ground his teeth together speaking through them. "Just who is the vampire king? Is that the girly dressed man I confronted a few days ago? I should have known with no men in your race that you'd prefer someone more feminine." Before he could stop his words a monstrous wave of jealousy attacked him. A low growl resounded in his throat. As her spitefulness grew her tail began to twitch warningly. "His name is Damien, you are to wait here until I return!" She hissed at him as she turned heel and went to the door. She took a deep breath before exiting, as she left a roar filled the hallway, she paused only for a second before jumping from a nearby by window, flapping her wings and soaring to the south.
Mioto Groaned as he read document after document. He was searching for something, any piece of information that would help him discover Violet's secrets, her vulnerabilities. The only information he'd found so far was that her name was Violet, she was a first class warrior, right hand of Leniu, referred to as the dark one, and that the Lazorains have a treaty with Damien. "Find anything yet?" He growled. Daion's voice came out a purr. "No, however there is a bit of information on the girl we took. Her name is Ninita, she does work at that shit hole pub, she is a civilian Lazorain. Her parents are deceased, they were pronounced M.I.A during the last war. Not surprising..." Daion's voice trailed off. Mioto looked up from his files. "Were you one of them?" His dull grey eyes were fixed on Daion's grim expression. "You could stay that. You see originally I had a mate, a gargoyle poetess of the fire tribe. Obviously I no longer am one myself. Which is due to the fact I was brought over partially as a Lazorain." Interrupting Daion, Mioto asked. "How can one be partially brought over?" Dion's grey eyes showed regret. "I was to go into battle against our kind. My Lazorain mate had stolen me from my gargoyle kin. She at first kept me confined, still a mere child at fourteen. She fed me her blood over a long period of time years I believe, but the night that we were to battle she forced me so much more, actually letting me drink from her wrist. She told me she would make me invincible so I could come back to her. At that point I had stopped resent her. Their blood tastes like cherries, as a gargoyle they had been my favorite fruit bearing trees." Once again Mioto made an interruption. "You drained her right? Then the wrong transition happened." Daion nodded before continuing. "The pain I endured through the Lazorain processes before this one could not even compare. The pain stung my veins, made them burn as if lava were my blood. My organs seared off as they reshaped new valves, new connections, some organs disappeared altogether. I came to the realization that something was really wrong when my flesh began to melt off. I panicked clawing and tearing at it with my own hands, these." He pointed to his scared chest and face. "Are the cause of my clawing, they do not heal. I had not known that my hardened grey flesh was being replaced with the peach colored skin of humans and Lazorains. Raking my claws across my body before it was complete caused the scars. Once completed I was summoned. I told no one of my mates death, and went into battle thinking I was a newborn Lazorain. However as the battle began to drag on, my insides began to burn once more." He paused thinking for a moment. "I was unaware then that, I had actually only been her slave for a few months not years. Since I only had fed on blood, my blood was the only thing sustained. My organs started to dissolve because I had not eaten flesh. In a fit of rage I left the battle. I returned to the confinement that "she" had kept me to find her gone. Her parents were some respectable aristocrats among their kind. I fed first on her father, making her mother watch as I sucked his bones dry, then I ripped out his heart crushing it into my hand before devouring it." Mioto growled. "Wait, how is it you overpowered them? I mean all Lazorains know how to fight at least in self defense." Daion laughed. "They didn't back then. Those were certainly the easy days. Anyway I raped her mother eating her in the same matter. I looked everywhere for my mate's body, but I couldn't find it, until now. The girl we brought back is her, Ninita. She won't recognize me, as I have aged, as has she." Dion looked thoughtful. "What will you do with her my brother? If you do not wish to trans..." Mioto was quickly cut off by Daion. "She will be transformed, I want her to suffer the confinement, the torture of transformation as I had. Then I will capture her true mate Jerath." Dion watched Mioto's expression, noticing his mouth agape in disbelief. "Ah yes my fired, I was not her true mate, he had not been born yet, however she was infatuated with my gargoyle species. "I see, I think we best start on her torture then. Although, Daion, I do have a favor to ask, I need you to let me have my revenge first." Moto began to neatly put the files into a drawer. He got up from his chair and looked squarely at his brother. "Indeed." He answered after thinking it over. "Things will be much easier after Violet is out of the way. No other Lazorain compares to her in battle." Dion stood up and began to pave the library as he thought. "Well, Leniu? Her and Violet are about even. However I do recall Violet saying something about spiting Leniu for something." Moto approached the door. "I"m going to hunt." Daion followed. "I will be along shortly. I want to implement a small about of torture on my previous lover."
Chapter 17
Damien felt her presence chill him to the bone. He knew the exact moment she stepped into the building. The one thing in his life he could not have. It was a shame that no other woman nor man intrigued him as much as she could. He smelled her scent as she came up the stairs. 'In here.' His breath caught in his throat, all he was able to do was send her a mental thought. Leniu hated that she left Malovane in such a way, guilt was tearing at her. Especially since she was almost in the same room with another man, that would give anything to make her his. She took a deep breath as she entered his office, motion for her escorts to wait at the door. 'Do not fear, he means me no harm.' She sent the message to them all over their general telepathic link. "Damien..." she bowed. Damien let his eyes savor her. She was wearing her battle gear, which glittered like diamonds, the plated skirt, laid mid-thigh. The silver breast plate formed her breasts, firming cupping them as he would love to do. Leniu whistled at him. "Hello? Face is up here." She tapped her foot impatiently at him. "Now, what do you need?" He gave her his best smile. "It's good to see you as well my dear. As for what I need, I need your input on a matter at hand. You see there has been a break in." He laced his fingers together nervously. A characteristic he usually didn't have. As he noticed Leniu's intent stare on him he continued. "All files containing your as well as Violet's name were taken." He noticed her now cold gaze. He nodded at her. "That is not all either." She let out and exasperated sigh. "Figures." "Jerath's Lazorain mate, Ninita, was taken. He is at home now, he is quite upset. He is also very banged up." He raised an eyebrow at her. Leniu frowned. "Newly transitioned? If so he will heal like a human, if no assistance is given. He is faster and stronger now then he will be in a week, but healing is difficult. I will send Violet to aid him in case they try to make an attempt on his immortal life." She regarded his ice blue eyes until he nodded in approval. When he raised and eyebrow at her questioningly she continued. "He needs Lazorain healing and blood his entire first week, otherwise like a newly transitioned vampire, he will parade around feeding in greed when he gets hungry." She leaned down on his desk now giving him a nice view of her neckline. "and if he is as banged up as you say." Her tongue darted out to wet her lips. "He will be extremely thirsty and often." Damien's eyes widened, his brow shooting up to his hairline. "I broke vein for him before I sent him home. Trust me pet, he will be fine." When her laughter mocked him, he growled. "You think my ancient lineage will not be enough? I beg your pardon." He looked at her abashed. She was not standing, no longer giving him a lovely view, her hands on her hips. "Trust me, his outsides are fine, but his organs, those won't be healed with the fledgling." He frowned at her and sighed. "He will not like being looked after, I take it?" She frowned slightly as her eyes met his. "Arrogant asshole as I suspected." Damien nodded. "I did try to have someone go with him. However he rather un-politely declined." He frowned. "He won't be easy to deal with. He will be furious." He templed his fingers on his desk thoughtfully. " I do believe that Violet will make a formidable match. She is right for the job I assume?" He arched an eyebrow at her. Leniu grinned widely. "She is very right for this kind of job. She is perfect. I hope that she teaches him some manners too, she she is not bound by payment." She winked at him before turning heel and exiting the door. As she turned the corner she heard Damien sigh as if finally able to relax. She smiled to herself and put the message out to Violet.
Violet groaned as she received her orders. She was going to the damn jackass that bit her and ripped flesh from her as if he were a Mekosian himself. Had she been anything other then a Lazorain she would have scarred. "Bastard!" She cursed aloud before walking on to the Purple Lightening. Jerath's apartment was below the bar in the basement. Violet haunted up to the door leading to his chamber. She knocked on it and waited, when no one came she used her mind to open the door. The apartment was pitch black. Her green eyes glowed brightly in the darkness. "Who is there?" Jerath's voice was hoarse, his throat felt dry. He was so very thirsty. A woman's voice answered him. "It's Violet, I've come to ensure your safety, orders of the princess." She saw his green eyes peering out of a bedroom. She could sense his hunger, the extreme thirst he felt. Caution would be best. "I do not want to be babysat!" He spat at her with a hiss. "I am a grown man and have been vampire for centuries. Leave me!" He was snarling at her. If she didn't leave he would hurt her, he was so very hungry. "Come to me Jerath." She held her arms out to him. "You will not hurt me. Come to me." She gave a command which she hid within the melodic sound of her voice. If he did not calm down she would be forced to get physical. He heard the compassion in her voice and it angered him further. He was not a child. "Are you toying with me?" He felt his stomach twist into a knot. His body began to burn. His veins seemed to itch. He started toward her anyway, but not because of her compassion, he wanted her as food. Violet could sense his desire to feed. His emotions swirled in the air like a heated bomb ready to go off. "Jerath..." Her voice came out a whisper. "If you do as I ask I will give you want you crave. Just come to me." She held out her arms to him letting him come to her embrace. Jerath saw her out stretched arms, but all he could see were the pushing veins in them. The ones on her wrists and elbows stood out the most. He started toward her once more, his eyes glowing bright emerald green as his hunger grew. She had what he needed. "Yes..." He hissed walking straight into her welcoming arms. She knew that he would bite her. She just needed to control where the bite was placed. Keeping him away from her neck was vital. She carefully placed her wrist to his lips. Tempting the bite. "Go ahead Jerath bite me." She mocked him, biting her wrist would be the least likely to drain her. Should he go for her neck, there would be no over powering him. Jerath took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her blood as it flowed through her veins. He felt her tension, but it didn't matter, she was pretty to him. He bit down hard, drinking swiftly, hoping that she would be enough to sate him.
Chapter 18
Malovane growled as he waited for his demoness to return. The way she left him had angered him greatly. She had gotten him food, however he did not feel like eating. The meal sat cold on the night stand. He stood up walking over to her vanity mirror. He touched the glyphs of her and Violet together. His head jerked toward the door as footsteps approached. His breath caught in his throat as the latch to the chamber clicked. He heard the tapping of her heels and then caught the look on her face. She was ashen, her bright blue eyes dull, her mouth was fixed into a grim frown. Leniu looked at him and deepened her frown. "Sorry for the way I treated you earlier. I am also sorry to say that I have more problems I must deal with before the night is through." Her eyes drifted nervously to his as she approached him. "I hope you can forgive me." She reached out to him. As much as he wanted to be angry with her, he couldn't. Her pain was beating at him. His heart ached for her. He reached out and took her hand. "What's happened?" She explained the situation to him and sighed squeezing his hand gently. "They know exactly what to do now, how to bait me into a trap. That is what they are trying to do. I suspect they are after Violet and they know I will come for her should they take her. Should my mother and me both die as will all of my race, until I produce an heir." Though he was still quite angry with her he died little inside at her words. "I will come with you." He pulled her into his arms and held her against his muscled chest. His words were thoughtful, but he would be no match for the Mekosians. He would need to learn Lazorain magic and the only way for him to do that would be to start the transition as her mate.
